when i read a new book i know i want to
  • 00:00:01
continue reading it based on one thing
  • 00:00:05
    i can
  • 00:00:06
feel the areas of my brain
  • 00:00:09
lighting up dopamine the words on the
  • 00:00:11
    page seem to
  • 00:00:13
dig into my soul and my curiosity just
  • 00:00:16
pulls me deeper and deeper into the
  • 00:00:18
    pages rampant thoughts
  • 00:00:20
flood my mind and they keep me up past
  • 00:00:22
my bedtime which is around like 9 p.m
  • 00:00:24
    nowadays but
  • 00:00:26
it's hard to stick to that i have to
  • 00:00:28
keep going down the rabbit hole i have
  • 00:00:30
to keep learning i have to
  • 00:00:32
    understand and dissect every single
  • 00:00:34
perspective there is on that specific
  • 00:00:37
thing that is causing my brain to light
  • 00:00:39
up so it lights up more if a book
  • 00:00:41
    doesn't do that for me
  • 00:00:43
why why would i read it why would i
  • 00:00:45
force myself to sit there and read
  • 00:00:47
something that i'm not interested in i
  • 00:00:50
feel like this is one big problem with
  • 00:00:51
schools is that people are forced to
  • 00:00:53
learn things that they aren't interested
  • 00:00:54
in and then they never go on to learn or
  • 00:00:57
    pursue their curiosity again because
  • 00:00:59
that's why we have the reward mechanism
  • 00:01:01
    in our brains
  • 00:01:03
    right
  • 00:01:04
to help us separate signal from noise
  • 00:01:06
    that's what dopamine does the
  • 00:01:08
unfortunate thing is that modern society
  • 00:01:11
has set us up to drown in this dopamine
  • 00:01:15
    and
  • 00:01:16
make it difficult to separate that
  • 00:01:19
signal from noise not everything is
  • 00:01:21
signal not every piece of entertainment
  • 00:01:24
that crosses your screen is supposed to
  • 00:01:27
cause that spike in dopamine and even
  • 00:01:30
    then we aren't built
  • 00:01:32
    for that
  • 00:01:33
level of exposure and that level and
  • 00:01:36
quantity of stimuli that's passing our
  • 00:01:39
eyes every single day now the real
  • 00:01:41
question behind all of this is what is
  • 00:01:43
    the utility
  • 00:01:44
why should i pursue my interest can i do
  • 00:01:46
    that
  • 00:01:47
for full time if i'm not able to
  • 00:01:50
    actually
  • 00:01:51
maintain this or have some kind of
  • 00:01:53
utility behind reading or just pursuing
  • 00:01:57
your genuine curiosity if there's no
  • 00:01:59
reason to do it if it doesn't pull in
  • 00:02:01
    the money or
  • 00:02:02
just fulfill some kind of need in your
  • 00:02:05
daily life aside from just entertainment
  • 00:02:07
which is also a good thing to do but if
  • 00:02:09
there's no real world utility there's
  • 00:02:11
nothing kind of holding you accountable
  • 00:02:13
    to
  • 00:02:14
    pursuing those curiosities and keeping
  • 00:02:17
that reward mechanism in your head in
  • 00:02:20
check and this has been one big thing
  • 00:02:22
that's on my mind recently is
  • 00:02:25
    whether or not intellectual development
  • 00:02:27
or the pursuit of knowledge is actually
  • 00:02:31
    worth it right
  • 00:02:32
why would it be worth it if my
  • 00:02:35
job or my relationships or other things
  • 00:02:38
don't require me to actually do that if
  • 00:02:41
    there's no purpose behind
  • 00:02:43
    my
  • 00:02:44
curiosity pursuits then why would i
  • 00:02:46
continue doing that so that's what we're
  • 00:02:49
going to explore in this video so from
  • 00:02:51
the beginning of time or at least when
  • 00:02:54
time began for you so when you were born
  • 00:02:57
you've been copying other people you are
  • 00:02:59
a copycat by design right how else would
  • 00:03:03
you survive you when you were young your
  • 00:03:06
parents taught you how to eat walk
  • 00:03:08
use the bathroom we talked about this in
  • 00:03:10
the last video but it's worth repeating
  • 00:03:14
and i repeat myself quite a bit why
  • 00:03:16
because why do you like music it's the
  • 00:03:18
repetition that creates the feeling for
  • 00:03:21
you there are only so many
  • 00:03:23
    foundational principles that
  • 00:03:26
exist in my work in the work of many
  • 00:03:28
    others it's worth repeating
  • 00:03:30
    the important things and internalizing
  • 00:03:32
    those so internalize this understand
  • 00:03:35
    the concept of imitation
  • 00:03:38
    copying
  • 00:03:40
    cultural conditioning having others
  • 00:03:42
    opinions projected on you
  • 00:03:45
    you
  • 00:03:47
    unconsciously or subconsciously picking
  • 00:03:49
    up
  • 00:03:50
    certain information from the stimuli
  • 00:03:53
that you are exposed to and it forming
  • 00:03:56
your identity your beliefs and other
  • 00:03:58
things that can cause a lot of pain if
  • 00:04:01
you attach to them if they are something
  • 00:04:03
    you need this is
  • 00:04:06
also pertaining to survival and how we
  • 00:04:08
have developed as human beings is that
  • 00:04:12
humans are really the only being that
  • 00:04:16
    have a similar reaction
  • 00:04:18
to when their beliefs are challenged
  • 00:04:20
    that they're attached to
  • 00:04:22
as a similar reaction would happen
  • 00:04:25
uh in our past lives when our survival
  • 00:04:29
was threatened right someone who is
  • 00:04:32
very set on let's say a religious belief
  • 00:04:34
    that has that challenged
  • 00:04:36
    they will do anything to
  • 00:04:39
either confirm or just defend that
  • 00:04:41
belief like their life depends on it
  • 00:04:43
    they go into
  • 00:04:45
fight or flight and their their focus
  • 00:04:48
    narrows their perspective narrows on
  • 00:04:50
that one specific thing and they get
  • 00:04:52
attached to it and nothing else matters
  • 00:04:54
at the moment it's just a belief it's
  • 00:04:56
just a thought in your head and
  • 00:04:59
that's what you're narrowing in on and
  • 00:05:00
as you can see that can cause a lot of
  • 00:05:02
    pain and suffering and bring
  • 00:05:03
    past traumatic experiences to
  • 00:05:06
the your sensory experience right now so
  • 00:05:09
to add on to this the mind craves order
  • 00:05:13
it hates chaos it hates entropy right
  • 00:05:16
the mind tends towards disorder if we do
  • 00:05:19
not maintain order in our minds or
  • 00:05:21
understand how to navigate uh the chaos
  • 00:05:25
so there is some kind of clarity and
  • 00:05:27
order there then all things kind of go
  • 00:05:30
to then you you start to
  • 00:05:33
go back to an unconscious state and let
  • 00:05:36
things affect you that shouldn't be
  • 00:05:38
affecting you and you see this
  • 00:05:40
everywhere we're going to talk about
  • 00:05:42
this very soon because it is a video
  • 00:05:44
that i have not created yet but a
  • 00:05:47
    hierarchy of goals and
  • 00:05:50
    how everything revolves around that
  • 00:05:52
every single thing you do revolves
  • 00:05:54
around a hierarchy of goals whether you
  • 00:05:56
are unconscious or conscious of it right
  • 00:05:59
culture has a hierarchy of goals if
  • 00:06:02
it tells you you need to get a job
  • 00:06:05
that's a goal how do you do that you go
  • 00:06:06
to school you learn those are all goals
  • 00:06:09
right whether you want to label them as
  • 00:06:11
goals or not or just check points
  • 00:06:12
    objectives quests
  • 00:06:14
    whatever games mimic
  • 00:06:17
or have a hierarchy of goals you have
  • 00:06:19
here's how you win the game here are the
  • 00:06:21
quests or checkpoints or what you need
  • 00:06:23
to do in order to get there and it makes
  • 00:06:24
sense that's why we play these games
  • 00:06:27
whether it be a cultural game or a
  • 00:06:29
corporate culture game where oh you need
  • 00:06:31
to show up at this time you need to get
  • 00:06:34
this amount of work done every single
  • 00:06:36
day x y and z extrinsic hierarchy of
  • 00:06:39
goals that you may not want to do and
  • 00:06:41
may not provide that fulfillment as
  • 00:06:43
opposed to you creating your own reality
  • 00:06:46
by creating a intrinsic hierarchy of
  • 00:06:49
goals from the things that you're
  • 00:06:51
curious about and how they will lead to
  • 00:06:53
a better life for yourself and this also
  • 00:06:56
brings up the topic of sense making or
  • 00:07:00
clarity because the mind craves clarity
  • 00:07:03
and we find clarity in these hierarchy
  • 00:07:06
of goals in these games which are
  • 00:07:08
structured hierarchy of goals and in
  • 00:07:10
stories or other things that make sense
  • 00:07:13
to us as human beings we have to label
  • 00:07:15
something in order to understand it a
  • 00:07:17
    hand wouldn't be a hand
  • 00:07:19
if a forearm wasn't there to support it
  • 00:07:23
this word that i'm saying right now
  • 00:07:25
would not make sense if i didn't have
  • 00:07:28
    the words before it or
  • 00:07:30
the next word i'm about to say would not
  • 00:07:32
make sense if i did not say this word
  • 00:07:33
right this happens in all directions
  • 00:07:35
across all planes of reality that we
  • 00:07:40
latch on to and that's the exact thing
  • 00:07:42
    is that we have to
  • 00:07:44
    or we feel
  • 00:07:46
    the need to
  • 00:07:48
understand the story that we are being
  • 00:07:51
told at any given time who am i why am i
  • 00:07:54
me because i understand i have clarity
  • 00:07:58
on what happened in the psychological
  • 00:08:00
past my memories that came up to form
  • 00:08:02
who i am today and i may or may not have
  • 00:08:05
a hierarchy of goals or a later part of
  • 00:08:08
    the story that is coming
  • 00:08:11
that will form who i am in the future or
  • 00:08:13
at least where my current identity will
  • 00:08:15
lead to overcome the anxieties and
  • 00:08:18
    depressions of contemporary life
  • 00:08:20
    individuals must become independent of
  • 00:08:22
the social environment to the degree
  • 00:08:24
that they no longer respond exclusively
  • 00:08:27
in terms of its rewards and punishments
  • 00:08:29
to achieve such autonomy a person has to
  • 00:08:32
learn to provide rewards to herself
  • 00:08:35
she has to develop the ability to find
  • 00:08:37
    enjoyment and purpose regardless of
  • 00:08:40
external circumstances that is a quote
  • 00:08:42
from mihai chiksetmihai from his book
  • 00:08:46
flow i highly recommend you check that
  • 00:08:48
book out and this again is
  • 00:08:51
something i harp on in every single
  • 00:08:52
video the importance of creating a
  • 00:08:55
vision for your future and a hierarchy
  • 00:08:58
of goals to get there because it brings
  • 00:09:00
clarity to your daily actions and bonus
  • 00:09:03
points if you take into account the
  • 00:09:06
    intrinsic drivers steven kotler's five
  • 00:09:08
    intrinsic drivers are curiosity passion
  • 00:09:11
purpose autonomy and mastery now this is
  • 00:09:15
    important extremely important so your
  • 00:09:18
actions lead to a positive potential
  • 00:09:20
reality because if you don't have this
  • 00:09:22
in place as we talked about earlier with
  • 00:09:24
entropy mental disorder not like having
  • 00:09:27
a mental disorder but disorder of the
  • 00:09:30
    mind
  • 00:09:32
is going to bring a lot of anxiety and
  • 00:09:35
    overthinking and uncertainty to your
  • 00:09:36
daily actions and you're either going to
  • 00:09:39
procrastinate or you just aren't going
  • 00:09:41
to feel or reap the benefits of making
  • 00:09:43
progress on a daily basis and so
  • 00:09:46
shameless plug as always it's free but
  • 00:09:48
my power planner you can get it in the
  • 00:09:49
link in the description it helps you uh
  • 00:09:52
write out this these visions goals
  • 00:09:54
priority tasks etc etc the mark of a
  • 00:09:56
person who is in control of
  • 00:09:58
consciousness has the ability to focus
  • 00:10:00
attention at will to be oblivious to
  • 00:10:03
distractions to concentrate for as long
  • 00:10:05
as it takes to achieve a goal and not
  • 00:10:07
longer and the person who can do this
  • 00:10:09
usually enjoys the normal course of
  • 00:10:12
everyday life that is another quote
  • 00:10:14
another banger quote from mihai which
  • 00:10:17
    except mihai enjoyment
  • 00:10:19
is the main benefit of this vision goals
  • 00:10:23
making sense of the world and having
  • 00:10:24
clarity on your life direction success
  • 00:10:28
is a game of intelligent imitation we
  • 00:10:32
understand that imitation can be bad if
  • 00:10:35
unconscious and creating things that we
  • 00:10:37
attach to that cause suffering so we
  • 00:10:40
need to do it intelligently or
  • 00:10:43
    in another way
  • 00:10:44
    consciously because
  • 00:10:46
    imitation or conditioning or programming
  • 00:10:48
or anything else it can't be escaped
  • 00:10:51
    our mind processes information whether
  • 00:10:53
we want it to or not whether we are
  • 00:10:56
conscious of it or not so to make the
  • 00:10:58
most of this survival mechanism this
  • 00:11:01
    imitation and conditioning we
  • 00:11:04
have to take a step back and think
  • 00:11:07
we have to think about the things that
  • 00:11:10
are we are being exposed to whether it
  • 00:11:12
be our environment is our environment or
  • 00:11:15
at least our perception of our
  • 00:11:18
environment conducive to our goals and
  • 00:11:21
    future
  • 00:11:22
are the things that we consume on social
  • 00:11:24
    media
  • 00:11:25
which direction are they going to lead
  • 00:11:27
us in what echo chamber are we immersing
  • 00:11:30
ourselves in and how is it going to
  • 00:11:32
impact our future and you may think that
  • 00:11:35
    some negative opinions and
  • 00:11:38
    self-deprecating memes and other things
  • 00:11:40
that you are exposing yourself to for
  • 00:11:41
the sake of entertainment might not be
  • 00:11:43
affecting you but it is and unless you
  • 00:11:46
become conscious of that it's going to
  • 00:11:47
be very hard to escape and you are going
  • 00:11:49
    to wonder
  • 00:11:50
why is why is all of this happening to
  • 00:11:53
me when you just aren't conscious of the
  • 00:11:55
information that you are consuming so
  • 00:11:57
this is the question are you allowing
  • 00:12:00
the message of growth and progress and
  • 00:12:04
    abundance
  • 00:12:06
    to
  • 00:12:06
go in go into your brain and allow that
  • 00:12:09
to be the information that you process
  • 00:12:11
    and you
  • 00:12:12
being in control over that or are you
  • 00:12:15
    letting the message of
  • 00:12:16
    fear and
  • 00:12:18
    self-deprecation and all of these
  • 00:12:21
limiting beliefs what are you exposing
  • 00:12:23
yourself to and again this brings up the
  • 00:12:25
    importance of pursuing your genuine
  • 00:12:28
curiosity right if you're pursuing the
  • 00:12:30
things that other people want for you in
  • 00:12:31
    terms of what you consume
  • 00:12:33
    then
  • 00:12:34
you're going you may get stuck in this
  • 00:12:37
    trap of
  • 00:12:38
moving in a negative life direction but
  • 00:12:41
if you pursue what you truly want to and
  • 00:12:43
this takes practice to actually notice
  • 00:12:46
the feeling of excitement or the raise
  • 00:12:48
the raised levels of dopamine in your
  • 00:12:51
head you need to become conscious of
  • 00:12:53
that and what causes that and one big
  • 00:12:55
thing that has been on my
  • 00:12:58
    recommendation list pertaining to this
  • 00:13:00
    is to reread
  • 00:13:02
your favorite book what is the book that
  • 00:13:05
caused so much excitement that made you
  • 00:13:06
read the entire thing uh you love that
  • 00:13:09
author you recommend the book to
  • 00:13:10
everyone reread that book and you can
  • 00:13:12
    start to notice
  • 00:13:14
    one you'll pick up
  • 00:13:15
    a completely different message the
  • 00:13:17
second time around but you will also be
  • 00:13:20
able to notice that and understand like
  • 00:13:23
okay yes i am curious about this this is
  • 00:13:26
intrinsic i can replicate this in other
  • 00:13:29
things that i am consuming now this is
  • 00:13:31
where things get interesting because i
  • 00:13:34
am a fan of doing what you want with
  • 00:13:37
    your life and usually that
  • 00:13:41
    implies that you will be
  • 00:13:43
    pursuing the skills developing the
  • 00:13:45
skills and other things that allow you
  • 00:13:47
to make an income doing what you want
  • 00:13:48
that doesn't have to be via
  • 00:13:50
    entrepreneurship but that's what i've
  • 00:13:52
done for the past three to four years
  • 00:13:54
and that's what i teach you can get a
  • 00:13:55
job with these things you can do other
  • 00:13:56
things but i'm going to speak
  • 00:13:58
    from the lens
  • 00:14:00
    of entrepreneurship the creator economy
  • 00:14:03
and other things like that and you
  • 00:14:06
make make this connection as we go on so
  • 00:14:09
i'm going to throw up a graphic on the
  • 00:14:11
screen and we're going to be referencing
  • 00:14:12
this for the rest of the thing this is
  • 00:14:16
the intelligent imitation process now i
  • 00:14:19
also want you to understand that you
  • 00:14:21
as a human being are a perspective
  • 00:14:24
    vessel
  • 00:14:25
    okay
  • 00:14:26
    everything is perspective
  • 00:14:28
    everything internalize this this can
  • 00:14:31
truly impact your life on a deep level
  • 00:14:35
    everyone is arguing their own
  • 00:14:38
    perspective on something
  • 00:14:41
based on their beliefs their values
  • 00:14:43
    their experiences everything that has
  • 00:14:45
formed their perspective as of right now
  • 00:14:48
so when you see someone in the comments
  • 00:14:50
    section
  • 00:14:51
and they're like let's say you make a
  • 00:14:53
post and you see someone in the comment
  • 00:14:55
section and they're like oh no this is
  • 00:14:56
    wrong this is absolutely wrong
  • 00:14:58
    everything's relative to
  • 00:15:00
    an individual's perspective they don't
  • 00:15:02
see if i were not to have
  • 00:15:05
    uh
  • 00:15:05
primed this part of the video with the
  • 00:15:07
fact that i'm talking from an
  • 00:15:09
    entrepreneurial mindset there could be
  • 00:15:11
people in here that have not been
  • 00:15:13
    exposed or made aware of
  • 00:15:15
the things that are actually possible
  • 00:15:17
they'd be oh that's not no that's not
  • 00:15:18
possible just go get a real job what are
  • 00:15:21
you doing get a real job and fun fact 60
  • 00:15:24
of future jobs have not even been
  • 00:15:25
    created yet like there's marijuana
  • 00:15:27
    therapists and uh
  • 00:15:30
twitter ghost writers and other things
  • 00:15:32
that like creators are creating their
  • 00:15:34
own jobs that's a big theory and
  • 00:15:36
philosophy of mine is that their creator
  • 00:15:37
    economy is
  • 00:15:39
    the future
  • 00:15:40
so you get better at seeing other
  • 00:15:43
    people's perspective which is empathy
  • 00:15:47
    by
  • 00:15:48
learning how to catch yourself when your
  • 00:15:51
perspective or your focus gets very
  • 00:15:52
narrowed in on one thing you zoom out
  • 00:15:55
and you see the entire picture
  • 00:15:57
    one
  • 00:15:58
quote of mine or tweet of mine is to
  • 00:16:00
zoom in on what's important so your
  • 00:16:02
values uh and other things like that and
  • 00:16:05
zoom out from everything else that's
  • 00:16:07
    kind of a spin
  • 00:16:08
on a herman hess quote that says uh
  • 00:16:13
determine what is important and laugh at
  • 00:16:15
    the rest
  • 00:16:16
it's as simple as that because with
  • 00:16:18
perspective i like to think of it as a
  • 00:16:20
camera right perspective is a camera and
  • 00:16:23
most people have theirs on a tripod just
  • 00:16:25
firmly planted in the ground i'm not
  • 00:16:27
moving this this is all that matters and
  • 00:16:30
then perception is the lens right and
  • 00:16:33
now if i blur the lens you don't see the
  • 00:16:36
full picture you have to assume what is
  • 00:16:39
on the other side of that lens and make
  • 00:16:41
sense of the story by yourself and feed
  • 00:16:44
it to yourself so you think they're
  • 00:16:46
wrong when in essence you're just
  • 00:16:47
arguing the wrong side of the argument
  • 00:16:49
to yourself because you can't move your
  • 00:16:51
perspective so take your tripod out of
  • 00:16:54
    the ground and
  • 00:16:55
move it around try to this is a skill
  • 00:16:58
this is such a valuable skill to try and
  • 00:17:00
    mold your mind
  • 00:17:01
to fit into the other person's shoes
  • 00:17:04
and at least try to see what they are
  • 00:17:06
seeing and even if you can't
  • 00:17:08
who who cares and another quote
  • 00:17:11
i'm just a quote machine today but
  • 00:17:13
    another quote is to
  • 00:17:16
uh is that there is no right or wrong
  • 00:17:19
there is only sense and nonsense
  • 00:17:22
and so sense making we what we think
  • 00:17:24
what you think is right from your
  • 00:17:26
perspective is what you can make sense
  • 00:17:28
of or what makes sense to you everything
  • 00:17:30
else is wrong because you don't have the
  • 00:17:32
awareness you don't have the world view
  • 00:17:33
or experiences that made it make sense
  • 00:17:36
to someone else attention is the new
  • 00:17:39
    currency
  • 00:17:41
novelty is what grabs attention novel
  • 00:17:44
perspectives are your unique way of
  • 00:17:47
    grabbing attention
  • 00:17:48
right we talked about media and code in
  • 00:17:50
the last one and the necessity of
  • 00:17:52
learning how to capture attention but
  • 00:17:54
    this goes far beyond entrepreneurship
  • 00:17:56
this goes for everyday life as well if
  • 00:17:58
you want to be remembered or you want to
  • 00:18:00
    stick in people's heads and
  • 00:18:03
    be seen as valuable
  • 00:18:04
    because you're not just regurgitating
  • 00:18:06
    the things that you imitated
  • 00:18:08
    previously
  • 00:18:10
you you have to view things from a new
  • 00:18:12
perspective this goes for content this
  • 00:18:14
goes for sales this goes for really
  • 00:18:17
anything that you are putting out into
  • 00:18:19
the world you are consuming based on
  • 00:18:21
your curiosity you are connecting the
  • 00:18:23
dots and then from your perspective
  • 00:18:25
you're putting out a fresh and novel
  • 00:18:29
perspective or just message on it that
  • 00:18:32
makes sense to a group of people that
  • 00:18:34
want to follow you right that's why you
  • 00:18:37
like a specific book but not everyone
  • 00:18:39
likes that specific book that's why that
  • 00:18:42
book is your favorite and other people
  • 00:18:44
may think oh that's yeah it's a good
  • 00:18:45
book but it's not my favorite i don't
  • 00:18:47
see why it's your favorite it's
  • 00:18:48
    perspective it's it's everything we've
  • 00:18:50
talked about so far and that is why
  • 00:18:53
saturation in the creator economy does
  • 00:18:55
not exist if you understand this concept
  • 00:18:58
    of intelligent imitation how everything
  • 00:19:00
is perspective and you are in the
  • 00:19:02
business of creating a novel perspective
  • 00:19:05
and making it make sense through stories
  • 00:19:08
metaphors concepts example of a concept
  • 00:19:12
    intelligent imitation is just something
  • 00:19:14
    i made up it's a concept that
  • 00:19:15
helps you understand this better and
  • 00:19:17
    again this going beyond
  • 00:19:20
    entrepreneurship and people just
  • 00:19:21
following you or buying your products or
  • 00:19:23
    your services
  • 00:19:25
this is what's going to get you hired
  • 00:19:27
over the next person is you stick in
  • 00:19:29
their mind you you cause that raisin
  • 00:19:31
dopamine through a novel perspective to
  • 00:19:34
let's say an employer that you
  • 00:19:35
interviewed with and they're going to
  • 00:19:38
stick in your you're going to stick in
  • 00:19:39
their head because you're like wow that
  • 00:19:40
guy actually that guy really made sense
  • 00:19:42
    that guy changed my mind
  • 00:19:45
    on this issue
  • 00:19:46
and even even then it just lowers like
  • 00:19:49
the necessity of having to actually
  • 00:19:50
build your value because you're sticking
  • 00:19:52
in people's heads and being remembered
  • 00:19:55
    by internalizing and practicing this
  • 00:19:57
    intelligent imitation concept now i'm
  • 00:20:00
very big and i see i can see
  • 00:20:03
the online landscape shifting quite a
  • 00:20:05
bit when it first started out and maybe
  • 00:20:07
a few years ago it was all funnels and
  • 00:20:10
    sales strategies and marketing and
  • 00:20:12
clickbait and people have caught on to
  • 00:20:14
it and it's the same thing with
  • 00:20:15
corporation going back to individual and
  • 00:20:18
what we talked about in the last video
  • 00:20:20
about how communities as opposed to
  • 00:20:22
    corporations
  • 00:20:24
    are comprised of individuals
  • 00:20:26
pursuing what they want under a
  • 00:20:29
hierarchy of goals of a community like a
  • 00:20:32
    like-minded community pursuing what they
  • 00:20:34
want and so with this i believe
  • 00:20:36
things are shifting back and i see this
  • 00:20:39
more often there are people that double
  • 00:20:40
    down on trust simplicity and
  • 00:20:43
    individuality they're making
  • 00:20:46
a lot more money and making a much
  • 00:20:49
bigger impact than those that are
  • 00:20:50
doubling down on the tactics which is
  • 00:20:53
like uh sales strategies and all these
  • 00:20:56
marketing tactics like uh like urgency
  • 00:20:59
    and
  • 00:21:00
countdown timers and all this stuff if
  • 00:21:02
you can double down on trust simplicity
  • 00:21:04
and individuality then you will win so
  • 00:21:07
pretty much a personal brand with a
  • 00:21:09
    personal perspective
  • 00:21:11
and time in the game so you build trust
  • 00:21:13
    by being
  • 00:21:14
    authentic you
  • 00:21:17
display simplicity by making sense to
  • 00:21:20
other people via a novel perspective
  • 00:21:23
    and
  • 00:21:24
    you
  • 00:21:25
    harp on individuality
  • 00:21:27
by taking responsibility for your own
  • 00:21:29
future so if you want to do all of this
  • 00:21:32
and as with most of my videos i end them
  • 00:21:35
with some kind of practical step-by-step
  • 00:21:38
    process to actually implementing this
  • 00:21:40
information because now it all makes
  • 00:21:42
sense to you but it's like okay what can
  • 00:21:44
    i actually do
  • 00:21:45
to make this a reality reality for
  • 00:21:47
myself what can i practice so step one
  • 00:21:50
is choosing three to five mentors that
  • 00:21:53
you aspire to be like and one thing to
  • 00:21:56
go along with this is that as we've
  • 00:21:58
learned you become what you consume so
  • 00:22:01
consume in accordance with who you want
  • 00:22:04
    to become
  • 00:22:05
    and
  • 00:22:06
the the thing with all of this is is
  • 00:22:09
these should stick out to you these
  • 00:22:11
    should be
  • 00:22:12
your favorite authors or your favorite
  • 00:22:14
    social media accounts or
  • 00:22:16
    really anything your favorite podcasters
  • 00:22:18
youtubers the the internet right you
  • 00:22:20
    have access to people that
  • 00:22:22
have a congruent voice that makes sense
  • 00:22:25
to you so then you can take those and
  • 00:22:27
make sense to others by combining them
  • 00:22:30
and this goes far beyond just their
  • 00:22:32
teachings right i'm a big fan of
  • 00:22:34
emulation imitation whatever it may be
  • 00:22:37
if you like their product why would you
  • 00:22:40
not go and make a similar product for
  • 00:22:42
    yourself
  • 00:22:44
right because you already know it sells
  • 00:22:46
you already know all of the information
  • 00:22:47
in there you hopefully have experience
  • 00:22:50
with it before you actually go and sell
  • 00:22:51
it but you're making it your own from
  • 00:22:53
your own perspective in a way that you
  • 00:22:54
understood it and you sell it to the
  • 00:22:56
people that you have a congruent voice
  • 00:22:59
with and again this goes beyond products
  • 00:23:01
this goes what colors what brand colors
  • 00:23:04
do they have how can you use those what
  • 00:23:07
is their tone how do they speak how do
  • 00:23:09
you want to speak how do you want to
  • 00:23:10
write how do you want to design your
  • 00:23:11
posts right it's like if you are just
  • 00:23:14
perceptive if you're receptive of the
  • 00:23:16
    things around you
  • 00:23:18
it's it's intuitive all of this online
  • 00:23:21
    business stuff is intuitive because
  • 00:23:22
people are already doing it and there
  • 00:23:24
    are certain aspects of certain
  • 00:23:25
businesses and certain people that you
  • 00:23:27
like that you can pull from to form your
  • 00:23:30
own unique and original brand content
  • 00:23:33
products all of the above step two is to
  • 00:23:37
    stop consuming and start researching
  • 00:23:41
right because consuming to me implies
  • 00:23:43
that you aren't doing anything with
  • 00:23:45
    information you aren't
  • 00:23:47
enacting the hermetic law of use right
  • 00:23:50
you aren't using the information so
  • 00:23:52
you're going to lose it by researching
  • 00:23:56
right so let's say something lights up
  • 00:23:58
your brain you re-read the first chapter
  • 00:24:00
of your favorite book and you you take a
  • 00:24:03
note right and this is all a process you
  • 00:24:05
can get in my free guide uh seven days
  • 00:24:07
to genius ideas it's my creative process
  • 00:24:09
for actually doing all this stuff this
  • 00:24:11
    is
  • 00:24:12
why this video is being created this is
  • 00:24:14
kind of my process but if you want a
  • 00:24:16
guided way of doing it link in the
  • 00:24:18
    description when you adopt the
  • 00:24:20
    perspective
  • 00:24:22
    of a researcher
  • 00:24:23
    everything starts to gain utility
  • 00:24:26
right because you're actively trying to
  • 00:24:29
connect and apply it to some something
  • 00:24:31
    there's intention and purpose behind
  • 00:24:33
your consuming you're no longer on
  • 00:24:35
social media to be entertained and
  • 00:24:38
    mentally masturbate you're there to
  • 00:24:40
research you're there to take something
  • 00:24:42
dissect it expand upon it summarize it
  • 00:24:46
uh connect the dots to other things
  • 00:24:47
you've learned and then form this new
  • 00:24:49
perspective that you can go and create
  • 00:24:51
and make sense to other people and
  • 00:24:53
condense that information like we talked
  • 00:24:55
about in the last video as well all of
  • 00:24:56
these interconnect and you can see where
  • 00:24:58
    i'm going with this where
  • 00:25:01
humans can process 126 bits of
  • 00:25:04
    information per second
  • 00:25:05
and you reading something that takes you
  • 00:25:08
60 million bits of information to
  • 00:25:09
process and then you packaging it up
  • 00:25:13
from a new perspective in a more
  • 00:25:14
simplified way but still holding meaning
  • 00:25:16
    and value
  • 00:25:18
you're helping other people learn that
  • 00:25:20
same thing much much much faster than
  • 00:25:22
you did because you have condensed that
  • 00:25:25
information into let's say 10 million
  • 00:25:27
bits and you've made it make more sense
  • 00:25:29
    so other people are developing
  • 00:25:31
themselves faster because of you you're
  • 00:25:34
improving their quality of life that is
  • 00:25:36
extremely valuable so we've we kind of
  • 00:25:38
just touched on this but step three is
  • 00:25:41
to get in touch with yourself and write
  • 00:25:43
    it down you can't be
  • 00:25:44
    viewing these perspectives that you're
  • 00:25:47
    taking in
  • 00:25:48
from a very narrow perspective where you
  • 00:25:50
aren't you aren't giving yourself room
  • 00:25:53
    to
  • 00:25:54
explore the other options and connect
  • 00:25:55
the dots and expand your mind and
  • 00:25:58
gain awareness on the other things
  • 00:26:00
    related to that right there's
  • 00:26:02
there's the iceberg of opportunity that
  • 00:26:04
    i've talked about before where
  • 00:26:05
what you consume is the tip of the
  • 00:26:07
iceberg but then everything under it is
  • 00:26:10
what you're trying to dissect and you
  • 00:26:12
can get sucked into that iceberg and you
  • 00:26:13
can turn that iceberg into an entire
  • 00:26:15
career and you have to get in touch with
  • 00:26:17
    yourself because
  • 00:26:19
    that this isn't possible if
  • 00:26:21
you aren't really conscious or you're
  • 00:26:24
close-minded you have to breathe when
  • 00:26:26
you like if your focus is narrowed
  • 00:26:28
creativity is very hard to exist in that
  • 00:26:30
head space if your focus is spatial and
  • 00:26:33
    expanded that's when creativity comes
  • 00:26:35
into play because you can pull
  • 00:26:37
from many different sources your your
  • 00:26:39
mind is open to those things and it's
  • 00:26:41
much easier to tap into i'm sure a lot
  • 00:26:43
of you have experienced this it's like
  • 00:26:45
sometimes you sit down or you're angry
  • 00:26:46
or other things and it's like
  • 00:26:48
your your mind is so fixated on a few
  • 00:26:51
things that you can't even remember what
  • 00:26:52
you ate for lunch the other day like it
  • 00:26:54
takes a while but then when you are
  • 00:26:56
stress free and you're open and ready to
  • 00:27:00
receive information and you feel a bit
  • 00:27:01
more creative you're in that spatial
  • 00:27:03
    awareness
  • 00:27:05
place and you can pull and you're you
  • 00:27:08
are much smarter when you're not
  • 00:27:11
narrowly focused on something so and by
  • 00:27:13
doing this you open up room for that
  • 00:27:15
dopamine to be more accurate right you
  • 00:27:18
    are allowing that signal
  • 00:27:21
    to
  • 00:27:22
separate the signal from the noise and
  • 00:27:24
that is what you write down you note the
  • 00:27:25
golden nuggets that cause excitement in
  • 00:27:27
you when you are reading and so step
  • 00:27:29
four is to dissect and distill that
  • 00:27:32
    right you aren't writing
  • 00:27:34
their entire book you're taking a piece
  • 00:27:36
out of it and then a piece out of
  • 00:27:38
another book and a piece out of another
  • 00:27:40
book and a piece from social media and
  • 00:27:42
then you're expanding on these with your
  • 00:27:44
    personal experiences your
  • 00:27:45
your summary and how it makes tends to
  • 00:27:48
you may be a step-by-step process
  • 00:27:51
relating to the problems that that
  • 00:27:54
    specific thing presents and
  • 00:27:56
how to get to a better place and now you
  • 00:27:59
can see this is forming the foundation
  • 00:28:01
    of articles posts
  • 00:28:03
    and
  • 00:28:04
products for yourself so here's a more
  • 00:28:06
structured way to do it you have the
  • 00:28:09
sentence or just something that caught
  • 00:28:10
your attention and now you want to
  • 00:28:12
develop it you want to dissect it you
  • 00:28:13
want to understand it deeper so here's
  • 00:28:15
what you do you write down the topic
  • 00:28:18
that it relates to a brief summary of
  • 00:28:20
    how you understand it
  • 00:28:22
the common problems associated with that
  • 00:28:25
topic the common benefits to overcoming
  • 00:28:27
    those problems
  • 00:28:28
    objections or limiting beliefs that
  • 00:28:30
people have to solving those problems
  • 00:28:33
    personal experiences and stories you
  • 00:28:35
have with that topic and a step-by-step
  • 00:28:38
process for overcoming that problem and
  • 00:28:41
reaping those benefits and so you may be
  • 00:28:43
wondering okay dan well what can i do
  • 00:28:45
with all that information it feels like
  • 00:28:47
i'm just taking notes here well again
  • 00:28:49
that's why i keep stressing the
  • 00:28:50
importance of starting a social media
  • 00:28:52
account or a personal brand because it's
  • 00:28:54
not only for entrepreneurship it's a
  • 00:28:56
modern day resume and that's where
  • 00:28:58
employers are hiring from but you use
  • 00:29:00
that information like if you're a
  • 00:29:01
marketer or you are in the social media
  • 00:29:04
space you see where i'm going with this
  • 00:29:06
because this is all social media is its
  • 00:29:07
problems benefits processes it's all of
  • 00:29:10
this stuff so what you just wrote out it
  • 00:29:13
forms a foundation of a blog post a
  • 00:29:15
twitter thread an instagram carousel a
  • 00:29:18
youtube video a podcast and then that
  • 00:29:20
can be broken down into tweets reels
  • 00:29:24
posts really anything and so that's how
  • 00:29:26
you dissecting all of that information
  • 00:29:29
from one little thing that you read from
  • 00:29:31
say your favorite book is how you form
  • 00:29:34
    that unique perspective that novel
  • 00:29:35
perspective that is going to separate
  • 00:29:37
you from a quote-unquote competitor and
  • 00:29:41
so after you do this for a while you
  • 00:29:44
    build this database of
  • 00:29:46
just your intellectual property that you
  • 00:29:49
can pull from at any given time because
  • 00:29:51
this doesn't just stop after one thing
  • 00:29:53
you do this time and time again i have
  • 00:29:54
an entire database of all this stuff and
  • 00:29:56
that's how i create these videos as i
  • 00:29:59
come up with a topic and it's like okay
  • 00:30:00
go to my database this one can help with
  • 00:30:03
the intro this one can help with the
  • 00:30:05
body this one can help with the
  • 00:30:07
conclusion this will help make a bit
  • 00:30:09
more sense here and like i've had people
  • 00:30:12
question or ask me like well what's your
  • 00:30:14
creative process behind all of this or
  • 00:30:16
how are you so creative and it's like
  • 00:30:17
    it's structured it's not like i just
  • 00:30:19
pull this out of my ass and start
  • 00:30:21
talking and that's what nobody does like
  • 00:30:23
the people that are super skilled at
  • 00:30:25
    this
  • 00:30:26
and can do it off the cusp then yeah
  • 00:30:29
that like that's good and that's what
  • 00:30:30
all of us are aiming for and i can
  • 00:30:33
definitely do that more than i was able
  • 00:30:35
to previously but only because i
  • 00:30:37
developed and understood the ideas in a
  • 00:30:40
way that made sense to me so i can make
  • 00:30:42
them make sense to you or at least the
  • 00:30:44
    people
  • 00:30:45
    that
  • 00:30:46
connect with how i actually distill this
  • 00:30:49
    information for you
  • 00:30:50
i hope this is making some like good
  • 00:30:52
connections for you so that is it for
  • 00:30:54
this video i appreciate you watching
