00:01:37
aka.ms certified
00:01:43
dp600 with that I'll turn it over to our
00:01:45
speaker for today thanks for joining us
00:01:51
Heidi thanks Anna and welcome everyone
00:01:54
today we're going to talk about the tips
00:01:56
and tricks for exam day focused on dp600
00:02:00
but we're going to cover all the
00:02:01
different tips I've learned over the
00:02:04
years so just a reminder you are in the
00:02:06
middle of this series right now so you
00:02:08
would have seen the benefits of getting
00:02:10
certified now we're going to talk about
00:02:12
the crucial thing of how to prepare for
00:02:13
exam day and the 24 hours leading up to
00:02:16
it and then the last session of the
00:02:18
series you're going to prepare for
00:02:19
actually passing dp600 exam don't forget
00:02:23
to save that link you'll see it on the
00:02:24
screen now it's that aka.ms get
00:02:27
certified dp600
00:02:31
so a little bit about me my name is
00:02:32
Heidi Hasting I am a Microsoft MVP which
00:02:35
means most valuable professional and MCT
00:02:38
Microsoft certified trainer I've been
00:02:40
doing data and analytics for over 10
00:02:42
years now but that doesn't mean that was
00:02:43
my first it career I was actually a
00:02:45
software developer before that and you
00:02:48
might have seen me on other line live
00:02:49
learn series or as a speaker and
00:02:51
attendee and volunteer at Tech events
00:02:53
all over the world and my current
00:02:55
certification count is 16 now don't be
00:02:58
intimidated by that I used to hate doing
00:03:00
exams I would stress out it was so
00:03:03
complicated for me and I didn't want to
00:03:04
do it in the last probably 3 years I've
00:03:07
gone from only having one to now having
00:03:09
16 so if I can do it you can do it but
00:03:12
don't worry if exams aren't your thing
00:03:14
that's perfectly okay it wasn't mine
00:03:16
originally and now it's my
00:03:18
jam so let's talk about what I did on
00:03:21
the day I passed
00:03:24
dp600 so dp600 was quite a challenge I
00:03:27
wasn't actively working in the fabric
00:03:29
space I was working with data analytics
00:03:31
I was working with Microsoft products so
00:03:33
it wasn't a far stretch but I wasn't
00:03:35
day-to-day in and out of fabric so on
00:03:37
the actual day of exam I make sure that
00:03:40
my mind is perfectly clear and focused
00:03:42
on just the exam I mean I love watching
00:03:45
TV shows and things but leading up to
00:03:47
the exam I had to make sure nope we're
00:03:49
not going to watch TV shows we're going
00:03:50
to make sure that we study crem for this
00:03:53
exam so that all the recent stuff in my
00:03:55
memory is all focused on the exam
00:03:58
content so I'd wake up make sure you
00:04:01
know I have my morning coffee if you're
00:04:02
a coffee drinker morning tea if you like
00:04:03
me I drink tea you know make sure that
00:04:05
I've had enough water make sure that my
00:04:08
environment is you know set up for me
00:04:10
and air conditioning set up or the heat
00:04:12
is on depending on where you are you got
00:04:14
to make sure that the environment is set
00:04:16
for you you got to decide whether you
00:04:18
want to go to a testing center or
00:04:19
whether you want to sit the exam as
00:04:21
online proed so I choose to do mine
00:04:23
online proed because I find the most
00:04:25
restful thing for me is at home so I set
00:04:27
up a little portable table in my louer
00:04:29
room sit on the couch dial into the exam
00:04:33
and just focus on the exam for that day
00:04:36
and make sure no one else is in the
00:04:37
house of course because that can disrupt
00:04:40
your exam if you've got other people in
00:04:41
the house because it's important when
00:04:44
you are taking an exam that if you're
00:04:46
doing an online proor you're the only
00:04:48
one within not only the field of vision
00:04:50
of the Proctor um watching through your
00:04:52
webcam but also there's no audio of
00:04:54
other people you know wandering around
00:04:56
the room you're
00:04:57
in but I make sure I do bit of a study
00:05:01
cram leading up to the exam as well so
00:05:04
it's important to do those quick little
00:05:06
last minute refreshes but make sure it's
00:05:07
not something that's going to stress you
00:05:08
out if going through the content over
00:05:10
and over you just find your mind's
00:05:11
glazing over and it's just the content's
00:05:13
not sinking in take a break take a
00:05:15
breather doesn't mean that you can't
00:05:17
look after yourself it's important to be
00:05:19
you know looking after your health and
00:05:21
well-being and not just focusing on oh
00:05:22
my god I've got to get all this content
00:05:24
in so that I can sit the exam so it's
00:05:27
okay uh not to study right up until the
00:05:30
last minute and make sure that you've
00:05:32
got your device make sure you got your
00:05:34
laptop ready make sure you got a webcam
00:05:36
ready make sure you got a second webcam
00:05:37
just in case and make sure you've got a
00:05:39
hot spot available on your phone as
00:05:41
backup for your internet because if
00:05:42
you're like me in Australia the
00:05:44
internet's not so crash
00:05:45
hot the other thing is if you're going
00:05:47
to go to a testing center if you're
00:05:49
going to go to a testing center in
00:05:50
person that can de-stress you a lot
00:05:52
because it's the responsibility of the
00:05:54
testing center to make sure that you
00:05:55
have a computer that all the environment
00:05:57
factors are taken care of and that you
00:05:59
just rock up tell them which exam you're
00:06:01
doing make sure you have an appointment
00:06:03
and in you go and sit the exam so you
00:06:04
can take away all those things but you
00:06:06
do have to make sure that the how you're
00:06:07
going to get there you've allowed enough
00:06:09
time for public transport or to drive
00:06:12
that there's parking available the
00:06:14
traffic all those sorts of things you
00:06:15
got to take
00:06:17
in so let's talk about what the exam is
00:06:20
like I've now sat through 16 exams so
00:06:22
this one's well and truly in my mind but
00:06:25
for those of you who've never sat an
00:06:26
exam the first thing to know is the
00:06:28
duration Microsoft gives you a large
00:06:31
amount of time so in this case 2 and 1
00:06:32
half hours to go through all the
00:06:35
questions now whilst I can say that's
00:06:38
plenty of time everyone's different so
00:06:40
you may take you know 20 minutes you may
00:06:42
take 2 and a half hours it's okay to
00:06:44
take however long you need as long as
00:06:46
you fall within that 2 and 1/ half hour
00:06:48
total and within the exam platform you
00:06:51
can actually see that time as you're
00:06:53
going through the exam so you don't have
00:06:55
to worry about trying to keep track of
00:06:57
what the time is for for as you go
00:06:59
through the time time period you have
00:07:00
that available on the platform but if
00:07:02
seeing a countdown clock can stress you
00:07:04
out the platform allows you to toggle
00:07:06
that clock off as well so you can do it
00:07:09
either way you want to check in 30
00:07:11
minutes prior so that means if you're
00:07:13
doing it at a testing center make sure
00:07:15
you're there 30 minutes before your
00:07:17
appointment so that they can have
00:07:18
everything ready and all you have to do
00:07:21
is just wait for a little bit and then
00:07:22
start the exam if you're doing it at
00:07:24
home that 30 minutes is crucial to be
00:07:26
able to make sure your laptop is set up
00:07:29
that your your room meets all the
00:07:30
criteria that as you join the queue the
00:07:33
Proctor can see you and your webcam is
00:07:35
all working that your internet
00:07:36
connectivity is okay you know you got to
00:07:39
consider things like if the power
00:07:40
suddenly goes out what am I going to do
00:07:42
so make sure your laptop's well and trly
00:07:44
charge or if you've got a desktop make
00:07:46
sure there's only one monitor attached I
00:07:48
know as people doing these sorts of
00:07:50
exams we probably have a few monitors
00:07:52
but for the exam you've got to have just
00:07:54
the one and the maximum time you can do
00:07:56
it is 2 hours so take all those things
00:08:00
into account but don't let it stress you
00:08:02
out if you start to think that clock's
00:08:04
racing in your mind just take a few deep
00:08:06
breaths and go it's okay I'm prepared
00:08:08
for this and worst case scenario I fail
00:08:11
and that's okay because then you're
00:08:13
going to get tips on how to how to do
00:08:15
the exam better next time so even
00:08:17
failure is still learning it's okay in
00:08:20
terms of the questions you've got 40 to
00:08:23
60 Questions and that can vary by exam
00:08:26
and then the important thing with
00:08:27
Microsoft exams it's the best answer
00:08:29
answer so when you're reading through a
00:08:31
question look for the little nuances in
00:08:33
the question that might rule out
00:08:35
different answers and the other thing is
00:08:37
you might think from your personal
00:08:39
experience and from your learning if
00:08:42
you're reading the question and you
00:08:43
think there's more than one answer have
00:08:45
a look at what would be interpreted as
00:08:47
the best answer it might be something
00:08:51
like say you've got four different
00:08:53
options and then you have to consider
00:08:55
well what is the most cost optimal or
00:08:58
what is the most security conscious look
00:09:01
at the little leadin in the question it
00:09:03
might indicate which of those ones is
00:09:05
considered the best even though multiple
00:09:07
might be perceived as correct got to
00:09:09
look for that best one and the best is
00:09:11
kind of subjective so try and think
00:09:13
about the little Nuance in the question
00:09:16
then think about General Microsoft
00:09:17
things so you've got the concept of
00:09:19
cloud adoption framework well
00:09:21
architected framework so is the option
00:09:23
the best in terms of cost optimize then
00:09:26
that would be the one to go for there's
00:09:28
a concept of a build list with a build
00:09:30
list it's a case of saying the question
00:09:32
may ask you what are the steps required
00:09:34
to set up a Lakehouse and so the build
00:09:37
steps is going to be a series of
00:09:38
different activities to get you to that
00:09:40
outcome it could be enable the tenant
00:09:44
make sure that you have a workspace and
00:09:47
then have a workspace that's associated
00:09:49
with a fabric capacity and then create
00:09:51
the Lous within that workpace and
00:09:54
there'll be a few dad answers in there
00:09:55
too so you got to watch out for those
00:09:57
but in that build list you're going to
00:09:58
prepare all the steps in order to
00:10:00
achieve an outcome drag and drop is
00:10:03
where we have a a sentence that includes
00:10:06
blanks with those blanks you'll have a
00:10:08
list of possible values and you've got
00:10:10
to try and drag and drop the correct
00:10:12
value into the blank
00:10:13
space with multiple choice that's where
00:10:16
you're going through a question and it
00:10:18
may ask you what are the two um
00:10:21
properties to set to achieve this
00:10:22
outcome and that's where you know you've
00:10:24
got to pick two sometimes it'll say pick
00:10:27
all options that apply up to a maximum
00:10:30
of three those sorts of things so that's
00:10:32
where you get multiple choice so the
00:10:34
question types vary throughout each exam
00:10:36
to a total of 40 60 Questions and a
00:10:39
quick tip here is if if you're going
00:10:41
through the exam and you find yourself
00:10:43
not sure on an answer it's okay Mark it
00:10:46
for review and come back later because
00:10:48
you never know as you're reading the
00:10:49
other questions it might jog your memory
00:10:51
on an answer to one that you weren't
00:10:53
sure
00:10:54
about then we've got the case study the
00:10:57
case study one of my favorites it seems
00:11:00
really daunting when you first open it
00:11:01
up you've got this massive background it
00:11:04
tells you all about the customer all
00:11:06
about the problem all about what their
00:11:07
future state is and it's a lot of
00:11:10
content and then there's a series of
00:11:12
questions targeted towards that content
00:11:15
I personally approach it a little bit
00:11:17
differently to a lot of people a lot of
00:11:19
people read the case study in full and
00:11:21
then they go to do the questions I go in
00:11:24
the reverse I read the question and then
00:11:27
I identify the targeted sections Within
00:11:29
the case study to read Because
00:11:31
Microsoft's really good in giving us
00:11:33
little categories so that within the
00:11:34
backgrounded information it might say
00:11:37
you know future requirements security
00:11:39
considerations overview of the company
00:11:42
so I can read the question and then
00:11:44
Target the specific areas I need to read
00:11:46
to focus to answer on that question
00:11:48
because for me too much information is a
00:11:50
bit of an overload but for other people
00:11:53
reading the question uh at the end is
00:11:55
more suitable so sometimes people will
00:11:57
prefer to read the entire case study so
00:11:59
they have the full frame of information
00:12:01
in their mind and then they target the
00:12:03
questions and go through and answer them
00:12:06
the important thing to know here with a
00:12:07
case study is once you start the case
00:12:09
study you can't go out of the case study
00:12:12
and once you finish the case study and
00:12:13
Market is finished you can't go back and
00:12:15
review it so take your time going
00:12:17
through it but again don't stress you
00:12:20
got 40 to 60 Questions give yourself a
00:12:23
little bit of time on each question so
00:12:26
that as you go through the questions if
00:12:28
you find this one you're not sure about
00:12:30
give yourself couple of minutes to to
00:12:33
think about it more to go through and
00:12:35
see if you know the answer or see if you
00:12:36
can J your memory and if you can't just
00:12:39
mark it for review and come back later
00:12:42
because if you sit on one question for
00:12:43
20 30 40 minutes you might run out of
00:12:46
time so make sure that you're conscious
00:12:48
of how many questions you're getting
00:12:50
through and the amount of time you want
00:12:51
to spend on them so that you know
00:12:53
whether or not you're going okay in
00:12:55
terms of the overall time okay
00:13:00
the
00:13:02
score seems very confusing to score an
00:13:05
exam out of a th when you've only got 40
00:13:07
to 60 Questions that's because each
00:13:09
question has a different rating so while
00:13:11
the score range is 0 to a th000 as you
00:13:14
go through each question that question
00:13:17
comes from a particular area within the
00:13:20
different sections of the exam and each
00:13:21
area has a different waiting so it might
00:13:24
be doing the um powerbi modeling
00:13:27
semantic modeling may contain 25 5 to
00:13:29
30% of the exam that means you're going
00:13:31
to get more questions in that area and
00:13:33
they're going to be weighted higher
00:13:35
because it's a deeper level of content
00:13:37
they want you to understand to pass the
00:13:39
actual exam you need to get 700 or
00:13:42
greater and as you're clicking through
00:13:44
the exam you're not going to know which
00:13:46
question is worth what and you're also
00:13:48
not going to know whether your total is
00:13:50
over 700 unfortunately you only find out
00:13:52
to the end but the great thing is you
00:13:54
find it out
00:13:56
instantaneously the scoring is scaled
00:13:58
but you get no points deducted for
00:14:00
answering incorrectly so don't worry if
00:14:02
you just like I'm not sure I'm just
00:14:04
going to guess this one guessing still
00:14:06
one option because you're not going to
00:14:07
get any any points taken away from you
00:14:10
for answering
00:14:11
incorrectly and that when you get to the
00:14:13
exam end of the exam there's actually
00:14:16
the option to review the questions you
00:14:17
marked for review so you can go back
00:14:20
through and see the questions that
00:14:22
you've marked for review and go through
00:14:24
them so you'll know when you get to the
00:14:26
end you go okay I Mark 20 for aiew how
00:14:28
much time do I have left let me go back
00:14:31
and review those
00:14:33
questions and in recent times really
00:14:36
excited that Microsoft allowed Microsoft
00:14:39
learn content to be available while
00:14:41
you're doing the exam so as you're going
00:14:43
through the exam if you're not sure you
00:14:46
have the option to split screen and load
00:14:48
the learn modules now it's important
00:14:50
here you won't get access to your
00:14:52
favorite search engine or co-pilot or
00:14:55
practice tests so you only get the learn
00:14:57
modules with the learn modules you get
00:15:00
access to the search so you can go in
00:15:02
and search for a specific module but
00:15:04
don't rely on this solely to pass the
00:15:06
exam because it's not going to help you
00:15:08
trying to search for every single
00:15:10
question in the learn modules to try and
00:15:12
answer it but with the question so you
00:15:15
can see here in the example I've got the
00:15:17
question on the left and I've got the
00:15:19
learn module on the right so I can go
00:15:21
through the learn module identify a
00:15:23
learn docs area that helps me for this
00:15:26
question read through that and then try
00:15:28
answering the question again or I simply
00:15:31
mark it for review comeback later or I
00:15:33
don't use learn it's optional feature
00:15:36
they didn't always have this it's sort
00:15:37
of the last sort of 6 to 12 months it
00:15:39
was introduced but it's pretty cool to
00:15:41
have that little assistant there CU
00:15:42
sometimes you know where you can find it
00:15:44
in the docs and now you have the docs
00:15:46
and learn articles available to
00:15:48
you so just be sure you won't have
00:15:51
access to C- ballot Just same but make
00:15:54
sure you watch what keep an eye out for
00:15:55
the time just in case
00:15:59
all right what to expect on the actual
00:16:02
day so as you lead into the day you're
00:16:04
going to do a check-in that checkin in
00:16:07
person is making sure you're at the
00:16:09
testing center register with the uh
00:16:11
organization you're testing with make
00:16:14
sure that you're there in enough time
00:16:15
that they have all the information ready
00:16:17
for you and off you go if you're doing
00:16:19
it at home or in an office or a shared
00:16:22
uh space that you have access to you're
00:16:24
going to do a check-in that requires you
00:16:26
to not only install software on a laptop
00:16:28
so if you're using a work computer a
00:16:30
personal computer or anything else make
00:16:33
sure that before the exam you've gone
00:16:34
ahead and installed the software
00:16:36
required for the check-in sometimes that
00:16:39
check tech check can take about 6
00:16:40
minutes or more so give yourself plenty
00:16:43
of time in that 30 minute window to go
00:16:45
through the tech checks make sure your
00:16:46
Internet connection's good make sure
00:16:48
your webcam is good make sure you've
00:16:50
gone through all the proed precursor
00:16:52
checks so they'll want to make sure the
00:16:53
room that you're in there's nothing
00:16:55
around your laptop that it's all clear
00:16:57
that you've got no phones you know no
00:16:59
smart watches no extra cables that
00:17:02
they're not sure about make sure you've
00:17:04
got all those once you complete the
00:17:07
check-in and you're in the queue they'll
00:17:09
let you know once your queue position is
00:17:11
up and then they'll start the exam now
00:17:13
don't panic if the screen goes all white
00:17:15
and the exam doesn't load give it a
00:17:17
little bit of time it's got to send the
00:17:19
exam through to your device and then
00:17:21
open it up I had that experience
00:17:23
recently where I had no no exam came
00:17:25
through but you always have access to
00:17:27
talk to the proctor so you can go in
00:17:30
Click the Proctor and ask to talk to
00:17:32
them and they can talk you through any
00:17:34
of the issues you're
00:17:36
facing then you're going to review the
00:17:38
exam question and then with exam
00:17:40
instruction and with those instructions
00:17:42
it's going to talk you through what the
00:17:44
exam's going to be about once you've
00:17:46
reviewed the instructions you say yep
00:17:48
I'm good to start the exam so this is
00:17:51
where you want to take those three deep
00:17:52
breaths clear the M make sure you're all
00:17:55
at the ready and a couple of tips if
00:17:57
you're doing proed if you like like me I
00:17:59
like to read out and my mouth moves as
00:18:01
I'm reading the questions make sure you
00:18:03
try and reframe to doing that because it
00:18:05
makes it look like you're talking to
00:18:06
someone in the room and so the Proctor
00:18:08
will tell you off pretty
00:18:10
quickly you start the exam you're in the
00:18:12
exam and off you go off and racing
00:18:14
through all the questions if you have
00:18:16
any issues if there's a technical
00:18:19
difficulty something happens every so
00:18:21
often the you get this little taskar
00:18:23
that shows your webcam the Proctor and a
00:18:25
whiteboard if you're doing it remote and
00:18:27
uh online if there's any issues press
00:18:30
the chat press the Proctor ask to talk
00:18:32
to them or message them on chat so that
00:18:35
you can get it resolved because
00:18:36
sometimes you can have a little bit of a
00:18:37
buggy experience but Don't Panic it's
00:18:39
okay there are people there to help once
00:18:42
you've gone through all the exam and
00:18:44
you're like okay I don't want to go
00:18:46
through it again I'm happy with what
00:18:48
I've answered you submit the exam and
00:18:51
instantaneously in both scenarios you
00:18:53
will get the results on your screen
00:18:55
almost instant right pretty cool now
00:18:58
this is the moment where you're like
00:19:00
because you're like did I pass did I
00:19:02
fail either way you gave it a go and
00:19:05
that's the important thing is that you
00:19:07
gave it a go and you looked at what
00:19:09
worked for you now if you pass great you
00:19:11
get the the result straight away that
00:19:13
you pass congratulations important to
00:19:15
celebrate and then you'll also get
00:19:17
details of how you went for each section
00:19:19
which sections you were strong in which
00:19:21
sections you might need a bit more bit
00:19:22
more effort in if you failed also okay
00:19:26
because you get details on what your
00:19:28
strengths and weak as well so that you
00:19:29
can do additional study for the next
00:19:31
time and you can reset the exam there
00:19:34
are some guidelines around when you can
00:19:36
do it like 24 hours later for the first
00:19:38
time I think it's 14 days after each
00:19:40
subsequent attempt up to time a period
00:19:43
of five attempts per year if I recall
00:19:45
calendar year so important celebrate
00:19:48
celebrate celebrate you put in the hard
00:19:50
yards you did the you did the work you
00:19:53
took the exam you gave it a go if you
00:19:55
didn't pass the exam it's okay again
00:19:58
gave it a go make sure that you take
00:20:01
time to read through what you did well
00:20:03
and what you didn't they're not going to
00:20:04
outline every single question but they
00:20:06
will give you section information and
00:20:08
then you can consider whether or not you
00:20:10
want to reset the
00:20:14
exam now before we get into what comes
00:20:17
next we are live so I want to make sure
00:20:19
we cover off some of your questions so
00:20:22
you're probably wondering what's the
00:20:24
best way you can practice navigating
00:20:27
around learn well you have options for
00:20:31
the practice exams so as you're going
00:20:33
through the practice exams consider
00:20:35
setting up a second browser next to you
00:20:37
that's already defaulted to the learn
00:20:39
module
00:20:40
homepage as you're going through the
00:20:42
practice exam if you find there are ones
00:20:44
that are not sure about try navigating
00:20:46
only using the learn module search to
00:20:49
try and find the docs that relate to
00:20:51
that practice assessment and then if you
00:20:53
do remember what search you used so
00:20:57
remember whether you're searching for
00:20:58
like headings or whether you're
00:20:59
searching for particular text in the
00:21:01
learn module that you're familiar with
00:21:03
and also make sure when you're reading
00:21:04
the question read it a couple of times
00:21:07
because sometimes the words that you
00:21:09
skip over as you're reading it because
00:21:11
we're human we're pretty good at reading
00:21:13
things these days so make sure that
00:21:15
you've looked at all those little Nuance
00:21:17
words in there in case one of them trips
00:21:19
you up on a particular option had that
00:21:22
happen to me
00:21:23
before what are some other things we
00:21:25
might want to
00:21:26
do what if you need a technology for the
00:21:29
exam let's say you need a screen reader
00:21:32
consider looking at that before you
00:21:34
start the exam you've got the option to
00:21:36
not only do practice exams but also to
00:21:38
do an exam simulation so there's a
00:21:41
little lab that you can spin up that
00:21:43
means you're installing the same
00:21:44
software that you would use before you
00:21:46
do the check-in for the exam so you can
00:21:48
make sure your device is all at the
00:21:49
ready you can make sure the tooling that
00:21:51
you use is suitable and accessible
00:21:54
within the exam if you need assistance
00:21:56
from an additional person during the
00:21:58
exam ex you can make sure that that's
00:22:00
organized before you start the exam so
00:22:03
make sure when you're registering to
00:22:04
sign up for the exam if you do need any
00:22:06
forms of assistance that you go through
00:22:09
and make sure those are organized for
00:22:11
you and if you have specific technology
00:22:13
that you use make sure if that's
00:22:16
technology that Microsoft has already
00:22:17
endorsed available to you or you may
00:22:20
have to look at an Al alternative screen
00:22:22
reader that they do support so that you
00:22:24
can know that you can sit the exam or
00:22:27
talk to your local testing center to
00:22:28
make sure that their devices are set up
00:22:30
with everything you need for the exam
00:22:33
there is the option to put the exam on
00:22:35
pause so if you need to take a quick
00:22:37
bathroom break you can pause the exam
00:22:39
while you're going through but the thing
00:22:42
to note there is if you pause the exam
00:22:44
to make sure that everything's still on
00:22:46
the upper arm you won't be able to
00:22:48
revisit questions you already answered
00:22:51
so be mindful of that make sure you take
00:22:53
a bathroom break before you start make
00:22:55
sure that you've had you know a glass of
00:22:56
water before you start so that you're
00:22:58
ready to go for the actual
00:23:01
exam what's going to come next
00:23:04
definitely join the rest of this series
00:23:06
or watch it back CU like I said we're
00:23:07
delivering it live today but it may be
00:23:10
you watching a recording start preparing
00:23:13
for the exam dp600 is not necessarily an
00:23:15
easy exam but no exam's easy everyone
00:23:18
has different levels of easy so make
00:23:20
sure you're prepared and each person's
00:23:22
preparation is different you may find
00:23:25
you go through all the learn modules
00:23:26
related to the content and then you go
00:23:29
through the study guides that are
00:23:30
available and then you go through and do
00:23:32
individual um study that's suitable for
00:23:34
you you might even try out the features
00:23:36
in your own lab sort of environment or
00:23:39
demo area but make sure your preparation
00:23:41
is what works for you consult other
00:23:44
people everyone's different someone may
00:23:46
have a different idea I like to do
00:23:48
practice exams I like to do them
00:23:49
simulated in the exam scenario with a
00:23:51
time period and a fixed number of
00:23:53
questions so that I can put myself in
00:23:56
that moment so it's kind of like muscle
00:23:57
memory once I get get in there I'm less
00:23:59
focused on how the exam operates and
00:24:01
more focused on just the exam content
00:24:04
questions and the last one is one of my
00:24:07
absolute favorites earn a free exam
00:24:09
voucher they are limited though you know
00:24:12
so try and get in before they run out
00:24:13
but make sure you get those free
00:24:15
vouchers my personal blocker for taking
00:24:17
exams was the cost because in my mind I
00:24:20
was going oh my goodness if I don't pass
00:24:23
this exam I've spent Australian $128
00:24:26
that's a lot of money you know that's
00:24:28
like couple hours of my work time that
00:24:30
I've now burned on on an exam so I love
00:24:33
getting the vouchers because it takes
00:24:35
away that stress of for me it takes away
00:24:37
that blocker so as you're doing your
00:24:39
exam day prep look at what blocks you
00:24:42
from sitting an exam and exams are not
00:24:44
for everyone and that's okay if it's not
00:24:46
your jam it's not your jam but if it is
00:24:49
or if your blocker is related to cost
00:24:52
look for vouchers if your blocker is
00:24:54
because you want to make sure that
00:24:55
you've gone through every single learn
00:24:57
module before you sit the exam make sure
00:24:59
you give yourself enough time to do that
00:25:02
I also look at it and go if I'm going to
00:25:03
sit the exam in 3 months time that's
00:25:06
great but I set up a backup so that in 3
00:25:09
months time I decide on the Saturday I'm
00:25:12
going to sit the exam in the event that
00:25:14
anything is going to go wrong you know
00:25:17
power drops out family emergency
00:25:19
whatever the case may be I make sure the
00:25:21
following Saturday I've also got as
00:25:23
Reserve so that I can come back and sit
00:25:25
the exam a week later if something goes
00:25:27
wrong so give yourself options think
00:25:29
about it when you're building fabric
00:25:30
analytic Solutions you probably look at
00:25:33
how you going to do backups how you
00:25:34
going to do restores what do you do if
00:25:35
something goes wrong the exam is no
00:25:37
different to that think about when are
00:25:39
you going to sit the exam what factors
00:25:41
you need to consider have you got you
00:25:43
know an appointment to go to right after
00:25:45
the exam make sure that's not going to
00:25:47
stress you out make sure your
00:25:49
environment is what works for you if
00:25:50
going to a testing center is going to
00:25:52
help go to a testing center if being at
00:25:54
home helps be at home if a shared
00:25:56
workspace that has meeting room is
00:25:58
available and that works for you use
00:26:01
those anything you need to do but make
00:26:03
sure you touch with b and check out this
00:26:05
series so that we can help you prepare
00:26:08
and just remember there's this entire
00:26:10
Global Community out there who wants you
00:26:11
to succeed so have a look for those
00:26:13
study groups have a look for the exam
00:26:15
cram sessions jump on YouTube look at
00:26:18
learn make sure that you're making
00:26:21
available to yourself everything to get
00:26:23
you prepared and reach out if you need
00:26:24
some help because we're all here for you
00:26:26
to be successful
00:26:29
and thank you all so much for attending
00:26:31
this session I'll double check in case
00:26:33
we've got questions because I know
00:26:34
you're sitting there in the chat
00:26:35
wondering what about this what about
00:26:37
that so just in case Chuck those
00:26:40
questions in the chat if you have any
00:26:41
questions but otherwise I think you're
00:26:44
all prepared for exam
00:26:47
day o and before I forget there's going
00:26:50
to be a short survey at the end so
00:26:51
please stick around to answer that
00:26:53
survey and help us make these sessions
00:26:55
great for what you need
