thrust through my door um all the people

along my street down here on the south

coast where I live have uh Pres

here I think it's happening up and down

the country uh and it's all part of the

big plan to control people or control

a letter that goes to all the people in

government is proposing to make sweeping

changes to local and Regional government

in our area this is a uh there is a

public consultation but it only runs

until the end of March why he says given

the mous momentous scope of these

changes are they being rushed through
00:02:50
with such haste as most of these things
00:02:53
are these days you might also have

thought that the government didn't want
00:02:58
the population as a whole to to know

what they're planning and have time to
00:03:03
respond and I hope this isn't the case

he says uh I should say this is by a
00:03:08
gentleman called Chris hair who's also

been on the show um and I've got his

anyway he goes on he says while there

might might well be Merit in a devolved

Authority for the whole of Sussex which

is where I am surely we should expect

that its members directly elected by us

the people of Sussex however under these
00:03:34
proposals supported by the two existing
00:03:37
County councils of East and West Sussex
00:03:39
the only person who will be elected is
00:03:42
an all powerful mayor there will only be
00:03:45
six other members of the new Authority
00:03:48
who will be appointed and not directly
00:03:51
elected so this you know and so and I
00:03:54
guess this mayor will be you'll have to
00:03:57
select presumably from a number of cand
00:03:59
candidates so I don't know whether any
00:04:02
of the people of the counties will be
00:04:04
able to be uh nominated to be a mayor
00:04:08
and um do we ever trust these processes
00:04:10
I don't know the dissolved assemblies in
00:04:13
London Wales Northern Ireland have
00:04:14
directly elected members so why should
00:04:17
the Sussex devolved Authority be so
00:04:19
lacking in Democratic accountability
00:04:22
it's a good question um do we even want
00:04:25
an elected mayor for the whole of Sussex
00:04:28
it is a wise idea is it a wise idea to
00:04:31
put so much power and such a large
00:04:34
budget into the hands of one person note
00:04:38
the word person there of course it is
00:04:40
not best to is it not best to disperse
00:04:43
power giving a broad range of elected
00:04:45
members the ability to scrutinize the
00:04:47
decisions of the executive there is
00:04:50
another aspect of these proposals not
00:04:52
mentioned in the consultation the plan
00:04:54
to abolish existing local councils and
00:04:58
merge them together in unwieldy unitary
00:05:02
authorities it's been suggested that
00:05:04
Brighton and hve adah and Worthing could
00:05:07
all be merged into one new council do we
00:05:11
want this will there be a consultation
00:05:13
on this too we have not been told he
00:05:16
says for eight years from 1989 to 1997 I
00:05:22
was a West Sussex County counselor I
00:05:24
even stood as a parliamentary candidate
00:05:26
in the
00:05:27
1997 general election in
00:05:30
West while time has passed my interest
00:05:34
in our County and our local government
00:05:36
has remained I feel obliged to make a
00:05:39
protest to alert residents about the
00:05:42
proposals as I feel there is something
00:05:44
rather underand about the methods being
00:05:47
used to push through such fundamental
00:05:50
changes and um the last bit he says this
00:05:54
year's County council elections have
00:05:56
been can cancelled on the basis that the
00:06:00
authorities will cease to exist next
00:06:02
year doesn't that rather suggest that a
00:06:04
decision on future Arrangements has
00:06:06
already been made which I think that
00:06:08
rather does and then it gives a link to
00:06:10
go to the consultations and I'll put
00:06:12
that in the um in the description of
00:06:15
course and now this is going on in this
00:06:18
count but this is a nationwide thing as
00:06:20
I understand it and if you have any

thoughts on that be very interested to

know what you think um so this would be

a bit like you know the London mayor

govern all of London and we will have
00:06:32
these County Mayors who will govern the
00:06:34
counties large sways you know hundreds

and hundreds of thousands of people

under the control of one individual
00:06:41
making a blanket decision for those
00:06:44
people and the amount of housing that
00:06:47
can go in and the various other projects
00:06:49
we've already seen that the government
00:06:51
are in the process of putting through a
00:06:53
bill in which farmland and presumably
00:06:57
other land as well can be compulsory
00:07:00
repurchased if uh the government decide
00:07:03
that they have another use for it
00:07:05
whether that be a solar farm or a wind
00:07:08
turbine Farm or they want to put up some
00:07:10
houses or they just want to stop food
00:07:13
being grown the key to all of this in my
00:07:16
mind is the every time I read one of
00:07:19
these things you know this is all about
00:07:21
legislation it's all about people trying
00:07:23
to govern us and it comes back down to
00:07:26
who are you and what are you and if you
00:07:30
understand who you really are not the
00:07:33
legal fiction attached to a label that's
00:07:36
in a a paper World in a in a corporate
00:07:40
world if you are a genuine real man or
00:07:44
woman a soul in a body if you um are not
00:07:49
a person just a concept uh registered at
00:07:54
the crown
00:07:56
Corporation then what we need to do is
00:07:58
to take off that Persona and stop
00:08:00
playing in their game get away from the
00:08:02
Monopoly board move away take ourselves
00:08:05
out of that jurisdiction is what it
00:08:07
seems to me and the more people that do
00:08:09
that and of course people are doing it
00:08:10
all the time now with their council tax
00:08:12
and with uh the various sort of in
00:08:15
offenses that we've caused by driving a
00:08:17
little too fast than what somebody else
00:08:19
deemed was the appropriate speed on
00:08:22
roads or parked our car where somebody
00:08:25
else deemed that we are not allowed to
00:08:27
do that because somebody else has
00:08:29
painted some paint on the roads now if
00:08:33
we're all using common sense if we're
00:08:35
all using critical thinking if we're all
00:08:36
using our judgment to be kind to one
00:08:39
another then we're all going to get on
00:08:42
uh but uh and there's always going to be
00:08:44
wrongin who will abuse the system but if
00:08:47
at the end of the day we love thy
00:08:49
neighbor if we cause no harm and we
00:08:52
create no loss and we cause no injury
00:08:55
then I can't see that any crime has been
00:08:58
committed we do need to take ourselves

out of this and so while they can have
00:09:04
their own system and do whatever they
00:09:06
damn well like in their corporate world

the more of us that say well that's just
00:09:10
you know dead entities playing about on
00:09:12
a on a Monopoly board let us move

ourselves out of that let us go to the
00:09:17
attorney general and say look I know who
00:09:19
I am actually thank you very much I'm

not this and I'm just letting you know

that I have rescinded uh my being a
00:09:28
person and that I am actually of the
00:09:30
people and um completely out of your
00:09:33
jurisdiction thank you very much just
00:09:34
letting you know so now you do know I've
00:09:37
told you my authority comes from a much
00:09:40
higher Sphere not a man-made Authority
00:09:43
in which you need libraries of books
00:09:46
with all this legislation and acts and
00:09:48
statutes which is all made up and not
00:09:51
part of me so um these people will do
00:09:56
their thing it'll happen anyway um I've
00:09:58
just been told that in where I live

we're getting the 20 mph nonsense so the

more people that get out of that
00:10:06
jurisdiction and say actually you know

that's just that's fake jurisdiction I'm

not part of it the better in my humble

opinion and I know that some people will

just have no concept of what I'm talking

about or will think that I'm just

talking out of my bottom and they're

entitled everywhere to think about their
00:10:25
own you know their own thoughts anyway
