  • 00:00:00
our country has never been in more
  • 00:00:01
danger of World War III than it is right
  • 00:00:04
now in many ways the world has been at
  • 00:00:06
relative peace for quite a while now Lo
  • 00:00:08
many people in the west into the thought
  • 00:00:10
that bad things just can't happen or
  • 00:00:13
certainly they can't happen here and yet
  • 00:00:15
the world is also in a total state of
  • 00:00:17
chaos things in the world are changing
  • 00:00:20
in a big way today we're going to talk
  • 00:00:22
about how to protect yourself from
  • 00:00:25
changes in the world whether it's a
  • 00:00:27
world war or some other threat to your
  • 00:00:29
    peace
  • 00:00:30
    [Music]
  • 00:00:34
and the first thing to examine is the
  • 00:00:36
idea that people say there's nowhere to
  • 00:00:39
go today we're going to examine facts
  • 00:00:40
and look at actual data of where you
  • 00:00:42
could go we're going to apply a couple
  • 00:00:44
different ways of looking at this that
  • 00:00:46
if a World War were to break out not
  • 00:00:48
only how would you protect yourself
  • 00:00:49
physically but how would you protect
  • 00:00:51
yourself geopolitically and we look at
  • 00:00:53
the war between Russia and Ukraine one
  • 00:00:56
day people in a big country found
  • 00:00:58
    themselves without access to financial
  • 00:01:00
services without access to get many
  • 00:01:01
    different dual citizenships or residence
  • 00:01:03
permits or many options at all in the
  • 00:01:06
countries that a lot of them would have
  • 00:01:07
historically gone to to seek more
  • 00:01:10
freedom it was all just cut off
  • 00:01:12
overnight and so beyond just physical
  • 00:01:13
safety we want to look at what's the
  • 00:01:15
reputation of your country going to be
  • 00:01:17
if there's a war where will you be able
  • 00:01:19
to go to seek freedom and to seek safety
  • 00:01:22
one commenter said if World War III
  • 00:01:23
takes place in the near future that
  • 00:01:24
could change everything but there be no
  • 00:01:26
safe place to go and I went back and
  • 00:01:28
looked at data from World War too there
  • 00:01:30
is certainly a lot of deaths that
  • 00:01:33
happened obviously in Europe and other
  • 00:01:36
places around the world but you look at
  • 00:01:37
a country like Brazil 2,000 deaths and
  • 00:01:39
that was pretty much the only country in
  • 00:01:41
South America that was even involved
  • 00:01:45
there were a lot of countries that
  • 00:01:47
basically just sat that one out now it's
  • 00:01:49
true that a number of countries are
  • 00:01:51
    becoming more geopolitically involved
  • 00:01:53
and M militarily involved in what's
  • 00:01:55
happening in the world but if we look at
  • 00:01:56
any past War there are always places
  • 00:01:59
where you can go people get residence
  • 00:02:01
permits in countries like Paraguay or
  • 00:02:04
Uruguay or even islands like morius in
  • 00:02:07
the Indian Ocean because they just want
  • 00:02:08
to have an option to be away from it all
  • 00:02:11
and if you were ever to become a citizen
  • 00:02:12
of that country you'd make sure that no
  • 00:02:14
matter what happened you had access to
  • 00:02:16
go and live there to me that's a sane
  • 00:02:19
strategy but let's talk about facts
  • 00:02:20
since 2008 the level of global
  • 00:02:22
    peacefulness has deteriorated by about
  • 00:02:24
    2% with 75 countries recording a
  • 00:02:27
deterioration while 86 improved if you
  • 00:02:30
look at some of the Western countries
  • 00:02:31
that people say we often pick on well we
  • 00:02:33
pick on them because they are in many
  • 00:02:35
cases part of that 75 not part of the 86
  • 00:02:38
that are improving there are some
  • 00:02:39
exceptions to that and I'll tell you
  • 00:02:40
about them the average level of global
  • 00:02:42
    peacefulness has deteriorated for nine
  • 00:02:44
of the past 13 years just the world as a
  • 00:02:47
whole Europe Remains the most peaceful
  • 00:02:49
region in the world although it has
  • 00:02:50
    recorded its slight deterioration in
  • 00:02:52
peacefulness obviously Europe as a whole
  • 00:02:54
is not so peaceful now and yet Portugal
  • 00:02:57
is a different situation in Ukraine I
  • 00:02:59
think I think some people like this
  • 00:03:01
comment or have this kind of like
  • 00:03:03
soothing mechanism where they don't know
  • 00:03:05
how to move or don't want to move or
  • 00:03:07
think they can't afford to move which I
  • 00:03:08
push back on and their soothing
  • 00:03:10
mechanism is well nowhere be safe so I
  • 00:03:12
might as well just I'll just do nothing
  • 00:03:13
and and so like you're no better than I
  • 00:03:15
am and it really makes them feel better
  • 00:03:17
about themselves and yet is life in
  • 00:03:19
Switzerland any worse than it was a
  • 00:03:22
couple years ago probably not in a
  • 00:03:24
noticeable way so where should you go
  • 00:03:27
let's consult some different metrics the
  • 00:03:29
first thing we looked at is What's
  • 00:03:30
called the Global Peace Index this
  • 00:03:32
studies countries by their overall level
  • 00:03:33
of peacefulness this speaks to safety it
  • 00:03:35
speaks to some geopolitical issues isand
  • 00:03:38
has been number one for 13 years in a
  • 00:03:40
row now it's very hard to get
  • 00:03:41
citizenship in Iceland I guess there's
  • 00:03:43
ways to get residents but not really
  • 00:03:44
through investment be more of a thing
  • 00:03:46
where you marry an Icelandic person or
  • 00:03:48
perhaps get a job there however if you
  • 00:03:50
have a passport from an EU member State
  • 00:03:53
Iceland is not in the EU and so you have
  • 00:03:55
some of the benefits of that but you are
  • 00:03:57
able to actually go and move there so
  • 00:03:59
for examp example I have a Norwegian
  • 00:04:00
friend who moved to live in Portugal
  • 00:04:03
Norway is also not the EU and Portugal
  • 00:04:05
is but because of what's called European
  • 00:04:07
economic area uh he's able to do that
  • 00:04:10
and so if you have an EU passport that
  • 00:04:12
can be obtained through citizenship by
  • 00:04:14
descent let's say you have an Irish
  • 00:04:15
    grandparent or an Italian
  • 00:04:16
great-grandparent and they never gave up
  • 00:04:18
their Italian citizenship that could be
  • 00:04:20
a way to claim getting Malta citizenship
  • 00:04:22
by giving close to a million dollar that
  • 00:04:24
can be done at about 18 months getting a
  • 00:04:26
residence permit getting a golden Visa
  • 00:04:27
there's a number of ways to do it
  • 00:04:29
depending on what you're timeline is
  • 00:04:30
depending on what your lineage is having
  • 00:04:32
an EU passport gives you access to
  • 00:04:34
Iceland we want to think strategically
  • 00:04:36
here where would we go if World War I
  • 00:04:38
happens well having access to a country
  • 00:04:40
that you may not be a citizen of isn't
  • 00:04:41
the worst thing and one of the benefits
  • 00:04:44
of Europe but I think a lot of Americans
  • 00:04:45
    or Australians or Canadians don't
  • 00:04:46
entirely understand is that if you can
  • 00:04:49
live in one European country you can
  • 00:04:51
basically live in all of them and so you
  • 00:04:53
have that optionality that Iceland is
  • 00:04:55
more detached from the rest of the
  • 00:04:57
continent obviously is an island than
  • 00:05:00
living somewhere on the continent itself
  • 00:05:02
Iceland are the global piece index
  • 00:05:03
number one now other things I looked at
  • 00:05:05
    were neutrality so Sweden and
  • 00:05:07
Switzerland for example are Fain for
  • 00:05:10
their armed neutralities uh they have
  • 00:05:12
not been in state of War internationally
  • 00:05:14
since 1815 and 1814 respectively now of
  • 00:05:18
course Sweden has cozied up with NATO
  • 00:05:22
now Switzerland was obviously a bit more
  • 00:05:24
on board with joining in and saying hey
  • 00:05:26
    let's sanction Russians whereas they've
  • 00:05:28
been more neutral historic Al so that
  • 00:05:30
neutrality is eroding a little bit you
  • 00:05:32
look at a country like Ireland for
  • 00:05:33
example also in Island uh which scores
  • 00:05:36
relatively highly in some of the safety
  • 00:05:38
and Global Peace Index studies they have
  • 00:05:40
historically been neutral and so if we
  • 00:05:42
look again at not only where do you want
  • 00:05:43
to go to be physically safe in a world
  • 00:05:45
war but where do you want to go to be
  • 00:05:47
geopolitically safe I'd rather be Irish
  • 00:05:49
than American because you're going to
  • 00:05:51
have a lot more options as an Irish
  • 00:05:52
citizen than you are as an America if
  • 00:05:54
certain places say Hey listen you guys
  • 00:05:56
are on the other side of the coin let's
  • 00:05:57
say a country like Indonesia you want to
  • 00:05:59
move to Bali they're on one side of this
  • 00:06:02
World War III and it's against the you
  • 00:06:04
know us maybe Bali is a perfectly
  • 00:06:07
peaceful and wonderful place to go and
  • 00:06:09
be in Indonesia just said hey like
  • 00:06:11
listen we don't want people who are
  • 00:06:12
instigating a World War to come here
  • 00:06:15
like you're not eligible for this
  • 00:06:16
residence permit or we're canceling your
  • 00:06:18
Visa free travel that's happened before
  • 00:06:19
so neutrality is one of the thing you
  • 00:06:21
can consider the third thing to look at
  • 00:06:23
is simply let's just count the wars
  • 00:06:25
sources say that Europe has had no wars
  • 00:06:27
fought since World War II obviously that
  • 00:06:29
has changed and the Balkans would like a
  • 00:06:32
word to those who've said no war since
  • 00:06:34
World War II one of the things I look at
  • 00:06:36
in a World War III scenario is we know
  • 00:06:38
that the United States and probably the
  • 00:06:40
UK and all this kind of so-called
  • 00:06:41
    International Community that they talk
  • 00:06:43
about which is just this tiny percentage
  • 00:06:45
of the world like 10% of the world's
  • 00:06:47
population if even that that agrees the
  • 00:06:49
Western countries like the rest of the
  • 00:06:50
world's not part of the International
  • 00:06:51
Community those countries are going to
  • 00:06:53
be of course on one side countries like
  • 00:06:55
the us are going to be leading the
  • 00:06:56
charge you know and and other their
  • 00:06:58
biggest allies are they going to follow
  • 00:06:59
them the US has been at as many wars as
  • 00:07:03
years that I've been alive and so you
  • 00:07:04
can expect that if there's a war like
  • 00:07:06
you're going to be in it now you can say
  • 00:07:07
hey no one's going to come to the US or
  • 00:07:10
Canada and like physically do anything
  • 00:07:12
and obviously in the modern era it's a
  • 00:07:14
little bit different than World War II
  • 00:07:15
now there's all kinds of different
  • 00:07:16
things you know terrorism for example
  • 00:07:19
who knows what could happen I would much
  • 00:07:20
rather be in Iceland I'd much rather be
  • 00:07:23
in Argentina I'd much rather be in maius
  • 00:07:26
I'd much rather be in a lot of places
  • 00:07:27
than the United States obviously living
  • 00:07:29
in Ardmore Oklahoma or living in the
  • 00:07:32
bush in Australia is going to be safer
  • 00:07:33
than living in New York City or Sydney
  • 00:07:35
and I'm not hoping for anything bad to
  • 00:07:37
happen of course but if the question is
  • 00:07:39
where am I going to go if World War III
  • 00:07:40
breaks out well I'm going to look at a
  • 00:07:42
new nonwestern system in this world of
  • 00:07:45
multipolarity and I'm going to figure
  • 00:07:46
out number one where a country is
  • 00:07:47
neutral but where am I going to be far
  • 00:07:50
    away from somewhere where countries
  • 00:07:52
start wars and so if you look at places
  • 00:07:55
in South America there's been a certain
  • 00:07:57
amount of instability in that region and
  • 00:07:59
yet you hear guys like Doug Casey say
  • 00:08:01
yeah you can live in Argentina you're
  • 00:08:02
just the rich Gringo and let that guy do
  • 00:08:05
what he wants to do you can go to places
  • 00:08:07
like you know Paraguay Uruguay places in
  • 00:08:10
Asia could be advantageous most the
  • 00:08:13
countries in the world aren't starting
  • 00:08:15
Wars aren't getting involved in Wars if
  • 00:08:17
you live in a western country you're
  • 00:08:19
seeing the news that is catering and
  • 00:08:21
speaking to that idea of the
  • 00:08:22
    International Community and that's all
  • 00:08:24
you really think about the news is not
  • 00:08:25
    talking about maias they're talking
  • 00:08:27
about their own little bubble and you
  • 00:08:29
think that that's the entire world and
  • 00:08:31
the reality is just be away from where
  • 00:08:33
they're having the war there may not be
  • 00:08:35
a war where you're living right now or
  • 00:08:37
it may not be affecting you but it's
  • 00:08:39
always good to have a plan B and one of
  • 00:08:41
the things that we do here at Nomad
  • 00:08:43
calist is help people who don't actually
  • 00:08:45
want to move somewhere figure out how
  • 00:08:46
they can create that backup plan for
  • 00:08:48
themselves and their families it starts
  • 00:08:50
    with having assets somewhere else
  • 00:08:51
because when War happens who knows what
  • 00:08:53
happens to the financial system have
  • 00:08:55
assets in stable places you've seen
  • 00:08:58
centuries of history people will keep
  • 00:08:59
their gold in asset Havens for example
  • 00:09:01
and whatever happens where they live the
  • 00:09:03
Gold's always there the crypto on a
  • 00:09:05
hardware wallet the money in the bank
  • 00:09:07
account start by having an asset
  • 00:09:09
    protection structure and then add
  • 00:09:11
residence permits places where you can
  • 00:09:13
go citizenships places where you are a
  • 00:09:16
welcome citizen they can't keep you out
  • 00:09:19
by the way we saw during the pandemic if
  • 00:09:20
you're a permanent resident or citizen
  • 00:09:22
of many countries the requirements for
  • 00:09:24
tourists didn't apply to you so you got
  • 00:09:26
that leg up on everybody else when there
  • 00:09:28
    is something something chaotic happening
  • 00:09:30
in the world countries often locked down
  • 00:09:33
not internally necessarily but hey we
  • 00:09:36
don't want the foreigners to come in
  • 00:09:37
while we figure out what's going on if
  • 00:09:39
you have access where they can't keep
  • 00:09:41
you out and especially if you have a
  • 00:09:42
passport let's say in the Caribbean
  • 00:09:43
you've got six different countries you
  • 00:09:44
can go to as of right you have a
  • 00:09:46
European Union passport you may say hey
  • 00:09:48
well this country itself isn't going to
  • 00:09:50
be great well you know hey maybe you
  • 00:09:51
    qualify for Polish citizenship by
  • 00:09:53
descent H that kind of concerns me but
  • 00:09:55
as a Polish citizen you could live in
  • 00:09:56
Iceland for example you could live in a
  • 00:09:58
lot of other places places you want to
  • 00:10:00
have a plan B for your assets and you
  • 00:10:01
want to have a plan B for your family
  • 00:10:03
it's what we help people put together
  • 00:10:05
you don't just want to get one thing in
  • 00:10:06
a vacuum you want to have a holistic
  • 00:10:08
plan that addresses your specific needs
  • 00:10:10
because there are a lot of unknown
  • 00:10:12
unknowns that come in with this stuff
  • 00:10:14
you certainly don't want to get the
  • 00:10:15
wrong passport or the wrong residence or
  • 00:10:16
make the wrong investment and now you
  • 00:10:18
have some tax issue you've got to deal
  • 00:10:19
with we help people clear up a lot of
  • 00:10:21
these misconceptions got to know mcs.com
  • 00:10:23
and learn about creating and then
  • 00:10:25
executing a holistic plan with us to
  • 00:10:29
make sure no matter what happens war or
  • 00:10:31
otherwise you and your family and your
  • 00:10:33
wealth are protected where is there no
  • 00:10:36
war what are some of the places that
  • 00:10:37
when you look geographically are the
  • 00:10:39
safest I'm just going to give you the
  • 00:10:40
list where are there no Wars right now
  • 00:10:43
Botswana and South Africa probably not a
  • 00:10:45
place a lot of people are going to go
  • 00:10:47
not an easy place to get citizenship
  • 00:10:49
very well-run one of the least corrupt
  • 00:10:51
countries in Africa one of the most
  • 00:10:52
successful countries in Africa I think
  • 00:10:54
one of the safest countries in Africa
  • 00:10:56
probably not at the top of your list but
  • 00:10:57
it is there no no war Chile you're down
  • 00:11:01
there in southern South America for me
  • 00:11:04
not the most interesting place to live
  • 00:11:06
they have taken a turn to the left and
  • 00:11:08
yet you can get residents in Chile you
  • 00:11:10
do not always have to be living in Chile
  • 00:11:12
to keep that it's more expensive than
  • 00:11:14
the Latin American countries but it is
  • 00:11:15
down there and I can tell you it is more
  • 00:11:17
developed than many other Latin American
  • 00:11:19
countries in many ways that's a place
  • 00:11:21
where there's no war Costa Rica no war
  • 00:11:24
in fact there's a bit of a misconception
  • 00:11:26
about the military but basically you've
  • 00:11:28
got a police force that handles the
  • 00:11:30
country so Costa Rica country you can
  • 00:11:32
get a residence permit we thought that
  • 00:11:34
country was going to be less tax
  • 00:11:35
friendly they're actually keeping it tax
  • 00:11:37
friendly and so they've made the Right
  • 00:11:39
Moves fiscally but they've also been a
  • 00:11:41
country that relies on peace not that
  • 00:11:43
far from North America if you live in
  • 00:11:45
the US or Canada morish has been
  • 00:11:47
mentioned easy enough to get a residence
  • 00:11:48
permit you're out there in the middle of
  • 00:11:50
the ocean been there pretty interesting
  • 00:11:52
place has a bit of Malaysia Vibes for my
  • 00:11:55
taste kind of Malaysia meets East Africa
  • 00:11:58
meets India kind of obviously just a
  • 00:12:00
western you know more Western kind of
  • 00:12:02
move over to the West version of
  • 00:12:04
Malaysia you can buy property there you
  • 00:12:06
can use it as a place to park some money
  • 00:12:08
it's a tax friendly place it is a World
  • 00:12:10
War III friendly place now any of these
  • 00:12:12
countries of course could take certain
  • 00:12:14
sides in a war but these are countries
  • 00:12:17
where there is nothing happening now
  • 00:12:19
Switzerland of course residence is uh
  • 00:12:22
something that is available it's a much
  • 00:12:23
more expensive proposition in terms of
  • 00:12:25
tax the cost of living Etc that's for
  • 00:12:27
folks who really want to commit Panama
  • 00:12:30
obviously historically more tied to the
  • 00:12:31
US but what's interesting is watching
  • 00:12:33
Latin America detach itself from the US
  • 00:12:35
and try and be more neutral and make
  • 00:12:36
more deals in this area of multipolarity
  • 00:12:39
I'm seeing Latin America and we're
  • 00:12:40
seeing Africa saying we're not just
  • 00:12:42
going to side with one country they're
  • 00:12:45
saying why do we just go to the when the
  • 00:12:47
US diplomats come they just say don't
  • 00:12:49
work with China don't work with them
  • 00:12:50
don't work with them we're going to do
  • 00:12:51
our country first right Americans say
  • 00:12:53
America first that's the thing well
  • 00:12:55
we're going to be Panama first we're
  • 00:12:56
going to be Rwanda first we're going to
  • 00:12:58
be whatever first we're not just going
  • 00:13:00
to only deal with the US and they said
  • 00:13:01
    that's the US's only pitch there's
  • 00:13:03
diplomats on the record saying like the
  • 00:13:05
US comes they just try and say don't
  • 00:13:06
work with anybody else except us and the
  • 00:13:08
other countries are like when China
  • 00:13:09
comes like okay do what you want not a
  • 00:13:11
ringing endorsement of China but these
  • 00:13:13
countries are starting to put themselves
  • 00:13:15
first and I think that a greater
  • 00:13:16
neutrality is probably not the worst
  • 00:13:18
thing Japan no war very cheap real
  • 00:13:20
estate hard to get residents impossible
  • 00:13:22
to get citizenship Qatar in the Gulf
  • 00:13:25
some people have some reticence around
  • 00:13:26
the gulf but quite frankly no war
  • 00:13:29
Uruguay is on the list possible to get a
  • 00:13:31
    residence permit what's great about
  • 00:13:32
Latin America is even if you just have
  • 00:13:34
an income hey here's my salary here's my
  • 00:13:36
    business income okay here's your
  • 00:13:37
    residence permit you don't necessarily
  • 00:13:39
have to invest a lot of money as is the
  • 00:13:41
case sometimes in Asia you can just show
  • 00:13:43
them that you earn money and if you have
  • 00:13:45
a western salary you may make enough
  • 00:13:47
even for a more upscale country like
  • 00:13:48
Uruguay you can get a residence permit
  • 00:13:50
and if you want to live there you can
  • 00:13:51
    work towards citizenship people have
  • 00:13:53
gone to places like Uruguay after you
  • 00:13:56
know during and after Wars and they've
  • 00:13:58
ended up staying there know many people
  • 00:13:59
of German and Italian ancestry are
  • 00:14:01
living in Uruguay they say I'm German
  • 00:14:03
I'm Italian oh four generations ago
  • 00:14:05
Uruguay is a place where you can go and
  • 00:14:08
you can be safe it's a safe place right
  • 00:14:10
now Vietnam is also in the west some
  • 00:14:12
people would say that's too close to
  • 00:14:13
China now here's where I would go I
  • 00:14:15
wouldn't want to be surrounded by the
  • 00:14:16
conflict so B batwan would be off my
  • 00:14:19
list for the same reason as is
  • 00:14:20
Switzerland for me just the cost of
  • 00:14:23
living in Switzerland you know waiting
  • 00:14:24
for something to happen it's it's harder
  • 00:14:26
to keep Switzerland in your back pocket
  • 00:14:27
if you don't have access to live in
  • 00:14:29
Switzerland I.E an EU passport if you
  • 00:14:31
can get an EU passport and then just go
  • 00:14:33
to Switzerland whenever you want then
  • 00:14:35
you know that may work I wouldn't want
  • 00:14:36
to be in a huge population Center like
  • 00:14:38
Vietnam I probably would not want to
  • 00:14:39
live in a country during a war that was
  • 00:14:41
as homogeneous as Japan the Japanese
  • 00:14:43
people are lovely I don't know that you
  • 00:14:45
would fit in as well there I would want
  • 00:14:47
to maintain a residence permit in a gulf
  • 00:14:49
country I think when people think oh
  • 00:14:51
there's a terrible war going on yes
  • 00:14:53
World War III will'll be interesting to
  • 00:14:54
see how that plays out compared to World
  • 00:14:56
War II it's a whole different era but if
  • 00:14:57
    I'm running a business I want my
  • 00:14:59
business to continue to function and if
  • 00:15:00
my business is set up in a tax favorable
  • 00:15:02
place that functions and that's neutral
  • 00:15:05
and that stays at A's business then I
  • 00:15:07
would want to have a golf residence
  • 00:15:09
permit let's say I set up a company in a
  • 00:15:10
golf country I have my company there in
  • 00:15:12
a free zone for example and I can always
  • 00:15:14
go there and if that's going to be the
  • 00:15:15
safe place uh I'll do it obviously some
  • 00:15:17
of those countries you know set up a
  • 00:15:18
number of military bases for the US and
  • 00:15:20
elsewhere I would probably prioritize a
  • 00:15:22
way from a country like Panama that has
  • 00:15:24
historically been more friendly with the
  • 00:15:26
us and it would leave me with Chile
  • 00:15:28
macius Costa Rica and Uruguay now those
  • 00:15:31
are all good passports Chile is turning
  • 00:15:33
to the left maybe that's not the answer
  • 00:15:35
Uruguay to me is furthest away there's a
  • 00:15:37
lot of resources not a big population
  • 00:15:39
it's all kind of concentrated along the
  • 00:15:40
coast maius is interesting I would look
  • 00:15:42
at Uruguay and maius for getting
  • 00:15:44
residence possibly Costa Rica because I
  • 00:15:47
think that Central America is kind of
  • 00:15:49
becoming more neutral and kind of
  • 00:15:51
getting out of that us system but to me
  • 00:15:53
Uruguay maius and Costa Rica standard as
  • 00:15:55
places where I can go and get residence
  • 00:15:57
permits in some cases I need to invest
  • 00:15:59
money I.E Marius unless I want to do a
  • 00:16:01
more complicated business setup in other
  • 00:16:03
cases I just need to show hey here's a
  • 00:16:05
couple thousand dollar a month in income
  • 00:16:06
and I can get a residence permit I'm
  • 00:16:08
generally not going to be given
  • 00:16:10
    citizenship by naturalization unless I'm
  • 00:16:12
living there a good chunk of the time
  • 00:16:14
but I've got tax favorability if I'm
  • 00:16:15
living there so I can keep running my
  • 00:16:17
business most importantly I think you'll
  • 00:16:19
be physically safe and I think there's a
  • 00:16:20
    certain neutrality in those countries
  • 00:16:23
where you're not going to get dragged
  • 00:16:24
into it and let me tell you if you are
  • 00:16:26
American or Australian or British and
  • 00:16:28
you want to go around the world I'd much
  • 00:16:30
rather be mishan going around the world
  • 00:16:32
I'd much rather be you know Uruguayan
  • 00:16:34
who hates the uruguayans right maybe
  • 00:16:36
some jokes are told about them by the
  • 00:16:37
    neighboring countries but otherwise who
  • 00:16:40
doesn't like the uruguayans Uruguay is a
  • 00:16:43
small country that doesn't want to
  • 00:16:44
dominate your life if you live there you
  • 00:16:46
get their tax deal for a number of years
  • 00:16:48
pretty favorable is a place to live you
  • 00:16:50
live by their rules and if you become
  • 00:16:52
uine you you can you'll have a lot more
  • 00:16:54
options I'm looking at this as much as
  • 00:16:57
physical safety and being a away from
  • 00:16:59
things being at a distance is having the
  • 00:17:01
neutrality not getting sucked into stuff
  • 00:17:03
where any number of different problems
  • 00:17:05
that come from a World War could affect
  • 00:17:07
me so I think it's pretty unfortunate if
  • 00:17:10
just the passport you hold means hey
  • 00:17:13
banks no longer want your money we've
  • 00:17:15
seen that from Russians in the war to
  • 00:17:17
Americans who have fatka plenty of banks
  • 00:17:20
just say we don't want you what do you
  • 00:17:21
do with your money now and it's all fun
  • 00:17:23
and games when it's happening to someone
  • 00:17:25
else but what happens if there is a
  • 00:17:26
World War and countries start taking
  • 00:17:28
siid and fewer countries than before
  • 00:17:30
side with your country and now you've
  • 00:17:32
got fewer options listen plenty of
  • 00:17:34
people are just Patriots and I live in
  • 00:17:36
my country and I go down with the ship I
  • 00:17:37
want to keep living the life that I have
  • 00:17:39
because I don't know that after World
  • 00:17:42
War II that the reasons Western
  • 00:17:44
countries have gone to war are as Noble
  • 00:17:47
as perhaps the ones that they used to
  • 00:17:49
have do why really want to stick around
  • 00:17:51
for when the fur starts flying for less
  • 00:17:53
than noble reasons I'd rather be in one
  • 00:17:55
of those places and building my
  • 00:17:57
    optionality w
