- 00:00:18truly love so actually working on it and
- 00:00:20then getting to design it and then just
- 00:00:22you feel so much more a part of the
- 00:00:25business I feel like there's something
- 00:00:27there for me I don't want to give up yet
- 00:00:29and then I discovered your video where
- 00:00:31you did the uh step by step video of
- 00:00:33like getting your store set up and I was
- 00:00:34like you know I'm going to give this one
- 00:00:35last try like there's a stepbystep video
- 00:00:38how like it doesn't get easier than that
- 00:00:40so I tried it out and I got my first
- 00:00:42sale and that's when I knew I was like
- 00:00:44okay there's something

- 00:00:55Anita for anybody who doesn't know is
- 00:00:57one of the most successful students
- 00:00:59inside of we scale she's been with us
- 00:01:01since what what month reminded me did
- 00:01:04you join February February so February
- 00:01:07so we're coming up on about six months
- 00:01:09about maybe five and a halfish that's
- 00:01:12awesome well thank you so much Anita
- 00:01:13happy to have you here and I would love
- 00:01:15to just Dive Right In with uh hearing a
- 00:01:17little bit about if you want to mind
- 00:01:19sharing about like your backstory and
- 00:01:21like what brought you to like print on
- 00:01:23demand like you mentioned just before we
- 00:01:25went live about Drop Shipping just all
- 00:01:27of that so I started um oh my phone's
- 00:01:30just going off um I started in 2019 was
- 00:01:33that a Shopify notification yeah that
- 00:01:35was another sale coming
- 00:01:38through love that sound um I started in
- 00:01:412019 Drop Shipping um I actually bought
- 00:01:44a course it was some Instagram guy
- 00:01:47selling a course mentorship spent like
- 00:01:50two grand on that when I didn't have the
- 00:01:52money at the time to spend it and you
- 00:01:54know nothing happened I uh tried that
- 00:01:56out for like I believe it was like a
- 00:01:58year and no sales so of course I went
- 00:02:01back to the same route getting another
- 00:02:02Mentor courses all the way up till I
- 00:02:05think it was 2024 and then I just you
- 00:02:08know I I put a pause I I gave up on Drop
- 00:02:11Shipping and then I was actually going
- 00:02:12through YouTube one day and I saw Alec
- 00:02:14he does the Etsy uh print on demand and
- 00:02:16then that's what kind of got me into
- 00:02:18print on demand really so I tried that
- 00:02:21out and then Etsy banned me immediately
- 00:02:24so then I was like I gave up again and
- 00:02:26then um I was like you know what I need
- 00:02:28to try one more time I really like I
- 00:02:30feel like there's something there for me
- 00:02:32I don't want to give up yet and then I
- 00:02:34discovered your video where you did the
- 00:02:36uh step by step video of like getting
- 00:02:38your store set up and I was like you
- 00:02:39know I'm going to give this one last try
- 00:02:41like there's a step-by-step video how
- 00:02:43like it doesn't get easier than that so
- 00:02:45I tried it out and I got my first sale
- 00:02:47and that's when I knew I was like okay
- 00:02:49there's something here so and then I
- 00:02:51joined the community and then as you
- 00:02:53know I I bugged you and Meg to review my
- 00:02:55store CU I was like I'm not giving up
- 00:02:58like no you were you were like the star
- 00:03:00student everybody who's listening like
- 00:03:02Anita is about to lay out a great road
- 00:03:04map but because bringing us forward to
- 00:03:06present day real quick you just told us
- 00:03:09how many sales did you just hit recently
- 00:03:11400 that's amazing congratulations and
- 00:03:14amazing accomplishment especially doing
- 00:03:17it I I think what's most remarkable is
- 00:03:19how many times you were able to push
- 00:03:21through like having like tried it out
- 00:03:23gotten your hopes up and like put in a
- 00:03:25lot of effort I'm sure and then just
- 00:03:27have things not pan out I think there's
- 00:03:29so much value in just hearing more about
- 00:03:31that story so I'd like to go back to
- 00:03:33when you talked about Drop Shipping and
- 00:03:34like you bought the course and then not
- 00:03:37our course we don't have a course just
- 00:03:38for everybody listening another course
- 00:03:41and you invested money that and I've
- 00:03:43been there like money that I didn't have
- 00:03:45like laid it all on the line what was
- 00:03:47that feeling like for you like as you
- 00:03:49invested those last dollars and like
- 00:03:51were just basically riding on a hope and
- 00:03:53a prayer in the beginning I was excited
- 00:03:55cuz I was like you know they sell you
- 00:03:57this dream of you're going to make money
- 00:03:58right away it's easy
- 00:04:00so I got into it thinking it was easy I
- 00:04:03remember spending like days building my
- 00:04:05store and everything and then after that
- 00:04:07I'm just like okay what's next so then I
- 00:04:10would just wait for the sales and they
- 00:04:12would never come and then you know some
- 00:04:14mentors that I invested into they
- 00:04:16actually go ghost on you so that was
- 00:04:19pretty sad you know you invest so much
- 00:04:21money and they ghost you so then you
- 00:04:23know the motivation slowly dies out I
- 00:04:25know I remember there was a few days
- 00:04:27where I just wanted to quit I really
- 00:04:29tried to put push through but you know I
- 00:04:31had my moments I mean I feel like we've
- 00:04:32all been there when uh you invest into a
- 00:04:35course you get super excited and then it
- 00:04:38doesn't go out how you want you know you
- 00:04:40join a community and it's not what you
- 00:04:41thought it was you know I've bought so
- 00:04:43many courses so I have so many stories
- 00:04:45to share of what I've been through but
- 00:04:47you know I'm so grateful to be where I
- 00:04:49am now because like if you would have
- 00:04:51told me like years ago that I would have
- 00:04:52hit 400 sales I don't know if I would
- 00:04:54have believed that to be honest I know
- 00:04:57it's like such like you have such an
- 00:04:59amazing
- 00:05:00Journey that you've gone on and what
- 00:05:02bring it back again to like so what was
- 00:05:04it really that like so you said you
- 00:05:05found like the Alec video and then
- 00:05:07you're like all right one one last
- 00:05:08chance and you found like the stepbystep
- 00:05:11tutorial what was that Journey did it
- 00:05:13feel any different like going through it
- 00:05:15this time like was there any that like
- 00:05:18clicked more or any anything of that
- 00:05:20sort well to be honest when I discovered
- 00:05:22Drop Shipping in 2019 it like lit some
- 00:05:25fired me I was like I want to be my own
- 00:05:28like business owner I want to be
- 00:05:31so time it Wasing these wer going how
- 00:05:35IED I would you know take couple months
- 00:05:37off and give up but then I discovered
- 00:05:40like Alec for example he did he was
- 00:05:41talking a different business model it
- 00:05:43was still on shop uh no it was Etsy so I
- 00:05:45was like okay let me try something else
- 00:05:47maybe I just need to do something else
- 00:05:48away from Shopify I tried it and I
- 00:05:51actually I remember I would wake up and
- 00:05:53the first thing I would do is open my
- 00:05:54laptop and upload designs and what I
- 00:05:56like about print on demand you're
- 00:05:57actually way more in control than drop
- 00:05:59Drop Shipping Drop Shipping you have to
- 00:06:01like pick a product and then you just
- 00:06:03have to Market it meanwhile with print
- 00:06:04on demand you actually control the whole
- 00:06:07business you get to create the designs
- 00:06:09you're more in control and it just I
- 00:06:11that that's something else I really like
- 00:06:13that it sparked something in me that I
- 00:06:15didn't have with Drop Shipping so when I
- 00:06:17tried that I I uploaded like a 100
- 00:06:19designs in like two days on Etsy worked
- 00:06:22very hard day and night and then they
- 00:06:24closed down my store and then I just
- 00:06:26remember being like well what do I do
- 00:06:28now like you know I remember just
- 00:06:30feeling very like okay maybe this is not
- 00:06:33for me and then I don't know sometimes I
- 00:06:35would just go on YouTube and then just
- 00:06:36start looking again and then I saw your
- 00:06:38video and I'm like okay I need to try
- 00:06:39one more time and because you mentioned
- 00:06:42Shopify and I'm like you know I've been
- 00:06:43on Shopify since 2019 I'm like I need to
- 00:06:46do this one more last time try the print
- 00:06:48on demand but on Shopify and just try
- 00:06:51one more time and um no I was so
- 00:06:54dedicated to do it I was actually sick
- 00:06:57when I discovered your video so I was
- 00:06:58off from work for a week I was sick like
- 00:07:01really badly at home with the fever and
- 00:07:03I was like well this is my time to like
- 00:07:05work on the checklist and upload and I
- 00:07:08just put the like time in that whole
- 00:07:10week just uploading well I was not
- 00:07:13feeling well then you you grinded
- 00:07:16through and it paid off clearly and I'm
- 00:07:18curious the uh the piece you mentioned
- 00:07:21about how like Drop Shipping and I I I
- 00:07:23totally identify with this but like Drop
- 00:07:25Shipping versus print on demand it feels
- 00:07:28you mentioned like it felt a little bit
- 00:07:29bit different to you I'm curious if you
- 00:07:31could expand on that yeah so like with
- 00:07:33Drop Shipping I feel like they just tell
- 00:07:35you to find a product and Market it but
- 00:07:38then you don't feel too connected with
- 00:07:40the products you know you just look and
- 00:07:41then you also have to find a product
- 00:07:43that is selling so it's just like it's
- 00:07:45this complex like I don't even know how
- 00:07:48to but it was just very complex finding
- 00:07:50products I was just just picking
- 00:07:51anything I remember I had like the
- 00:07:53blender the Smoothie blender whatever it
- 00:07:56was just trying to Market it but then
- 00:07:57it's just your heart's not in it you
- 00:07:59know like you're just you're doing it
- 00:08:01because that's what works but I just
- 00:08:03find like my motivation wasn't there but
- 00:08:06having print on demand like actually
- 00:08:08doing what you know you love like I'm I
- 00:08:10chose a niche that I truly love so
- 00:08:12actually working on it and then getting
- 00:08:14to design it and then just you feel so
- 00:08:16much more a part of the business it's
- 00:08:19fun to do I like like I get excited to
- 00:08:21wake up and work on it it's just it's
- 00:08:23different it's very different like Drop
- 00:08:25Shipping and print on demand so I I just
- 00:08:28now seeing it I can see how print on
- 00:08:30demands actually I kind of want to say
- 00:08:32it's a bit easier to get into like cuz
- 00:08:34you have full like you have way more
- 00:08:36control than Drop Shipping you're just
- 00:08:38throwing money at a pro product and hope
- 00:08:40it works meanwhile with print on demand
- 00:08:42you actually have more control because
- 00:08:44it's you have control of what the
- 00:08:46product is so yeah and you're able to
- 00:08:48like create your own demand in a way by
- 00:08:49like coming up with new and unique
- 00:08:51things exactly like you went through the
- 00:08:54course and then in that period before
- 00:08:56joining the community what was that
- 00:08:58process like as you're like building
- 00:08:59building your first designs designing
- 00:09:01your first designs building your first
- 00:09:02store what was that process like for you
- 00:09:04it was actually kind of exciting cuz I
- 00:09:06did the first print on demand experience
- 00:09:09on Etsy so I was kind of familiar with
- 00:09:11the making design so doing it on Shopify
- 00:09:13was kind of relieved because I truly
- 00:09:15like Shopify more than Etsy so it was
- 00:09:17quite nice and then the checklist was
- 00:09:19actually super handy to do so I was just
- 00:09:21going through it and it was actually
- 00:09:23pretty nice just it was actually also my
- 00:09:25first time really building a store like
- 00:09:27when I was in job shipping I would pale
- 00:09:29most of the time just do the shortcuts
- 00:09:31as you would in job shipping so on print
- 00:09:33and demand I actually took the time and
- 00:09:35built my own store so that actually kind
- 00:09:37of made it more sentimental for me I'm
- 00:09:39like I built this I built the design I
- 00:09:42built the store I built everything so I
- 00:09:44was more kind of attached to the store
- 00:09:46so that's why I didn't want to let go to
- 00:09:48like so early I was just like no I need
- 00:09:50to make this work I put like sweat Blood
- 00:09:53and Tears into this store so I wanted it
- 00:09:55to work and then something a lot of
- 00:09:57people that we've heard they come up
- 00:09:58against is that they go through that
- 00:10:00process of like they put in so much
- 00:10:02effort and like love and pride into
- 00:10:04their their designs and their store and
- 00:10:06the brand that they're building and it's
- 00:10:08super exciting but then there's like the
- 00:10:10jumping off point like the point of like
- 00:10:13actually launching even before you
- 00:10:16launch it's kind of gets scary just
- 00:10:18knowing that it's coming and knowing
- 00:10:19that like okay this is going to be like
- 00:10:21ripping off the Band-Aid like I'm
- 00:10:23curious if you could speak to that at
- 00:10:24all like what that Pro like what that
- 00:10:25buildup was like to you and if you had
- 00:10:27any like butterflies about it or any
- 00:10:29thing of the sort um I was actually
- 00:10:31really excited because I was watching
- 00:10:32your ad video and I just I guess I was
- 00:10:34so into like watching the step by steps
- 00:10:37that I was just like okay this is the
- 00:10:38next step this is what I need to do next
- 00:10:39and then I just like pushed it off but
- 00:10:42then I guess I when I didn't see the
- 00:10:44sales coming in that's when my
- 00:10:46motivation was slowly going back I'm
- 00:10:47like okay is this not working is this
- 00:10:49because of me and what I learned is
- 00:10:51don't be afraid to ask for help like I
- 00:10:53was so scared to message you guys
- 00:10:55because no one's done it I saw like in
- 00:10:57the community when I joined the
- 00:10:58community um no one was asking about
- 00:11:00their store no one was sharing their
- 00:11:02store but I was like I need to ask
- 00:11:03because I'm like I put so much work into
- 00:11:06the store I don't want to give up like I
- 00:11:08really want this to work so like I think
- 00:11:11the best thing is just don't give up and
- 00:11:13it's that's why it's also important to
- 00:11:14pick a niche that you love cuz then it's
- 00:11:17just like you're so attached to the
- 00:11:19store like that's why you can't just
- 00:11:20pick any Niche I think you really have
- 00:11:23to love what you picked and what you do
- 00:11:26for it to work right and I remember that
- 00:11:27you you were kind of like the the
- 00:11:29Icebreaker in the group like you were
- 00:11:31one of the very first ones like posting
- 00:11:33and getting feedback and I think like it
- 00:11:35was to your point like it just showed
- 00:11:37how passionate you were about it that
- 00:11:38you were like maybe in other
- 00:11:40circumstances I might be more shy or
- 00:11:41something but in this like screw it like
- 00:11:43I'm making this thing work and I'm
- 00:11:45curious like what was it like maybe it's
- 00:11:47just your default personality but what
- 00:11:49was it that like just motivated you like
- 00:11:51come H high water like I'm going to make
- 00:11:53this work cuz this was my like last
- 00:11:56attempt to make this work cuz I said
- 00:11:58after this if this is not working
- 00:11:59working I'm done with Shopify I'm done
- 00:12:01with all of this on like I'm I'm taking
- 00:12:03a break it's not for me so that's why I
- 00:12:05was like I need once I got that first
- 00:12:07sale I think that's what also got me
- 00:12:09motivated but also like yeah I think it
- 00:12:11was my last moment to make it work so
- 00:12:13I'm like and just having the community
- 00:12:15having you guys there and just seeing
- 00:12:16that I can message you guys I was like
- 00:12:18okay I'm going to I'm going to try it so
- 00:12:21I uh yeah I just tried it out to see if
- 00:12:24I can get a reply and then Meg replied
- 00:12:26right away that she's like We're going
- 00:12:27to look into this and I was was like oh
- 00:12:29this is nice I was like and but I was a
- 00:12:32bit shy about having my store you know
- 00:12:34being shown to everyone I'm not going to
- 00:12:36lie I was a bit shy but I was like if if
- 00:12:38this helps other people especially
- 00:12:39coming from Drop Shipping right yeah
- 00:12:42yeah you usually don't share your store
- 00:12:44with other people and I actually have
- 00:12:46never shown my store to other people in
- 00:12:48Drop Shipping like I never asked for
- 00:12:50help actually this was the first time I
- 00:12:52was like no I need to make this work so
- 00:12:54it's it's yeah I guess you really got to
- 00:12:57just have that fire in you to make it
- 00:12:59work yeah I'm just like cheesing so hard
- 00:13:02listening to you I need to remember to
- 00:13:03like ask questions but this is your
- 00:13:05story is awesome um and I guess so like
- 00:13:07once you got into the you said you spent
- 00:13:10a little bit on ads you're experimenting
- 00:13:12um and didn't get like at least for my
- 00:13:15experience like building a brand new
- 00:13:16store and then launching ads and not
- 00:13:18getting sales right away can kind of
- 00:13:20feel like a punch to the god even if we
- 00:13:21logically know like it shouldn't like
- 00:13:24it's not going to like statistically
- 00:13:25it's just not going to work right out of
- 00:13:26the gate it's going to take refining and
- 00:13:28stuff even logically knowing that it can
- 00:13:30still feel like kind of a I don't know a
- 00:13:32big damper in a way how did you I mean
- 00:13:35it sounds like you were just like
- 00:13:37powering through it but I'm curious if
- 00:13:38you could speak to like how you push
- 00:13:40through that maybe like if you picture
- 00:13:42like on the first day after you wake up
- 00:13:44you launched ads you wake up excited go
- 00:13:46to your laptop you're like oh did I get
- 00:13:47any sales see not a five as probably
- 00:13:51what what was that experience like for
- 00:13:53you I guess it is a bit disheartening
- 00:13:56not seeing you know the sales come in
- 00:13:58but I'm used to not having sales so I
- 00:14:01was like this is nothing new I don't
- 00:14:02know how the kaching sounds like so I
- 00:14:04was just like I need to make this work
- 00:14:06so I just pushed through it and honestly
- 00:14:08I just stopped checking I was like I
- 00:14:10just put money into it and I was like
- 00:14:12this is my last moment I need to make
- 00:14:14this work I followed your checklist and
- 00:14:16I'm like it needs to work like there it
- 00:14:18needs to work I don't know because I was
- 00:14:20just looking into more print on demand
- 00:14:22and I'm like it seems more promising
- 00:14:24than Drop Shipping so I was like I think
- 00:14:27this is going to work I like and I did
- 00:14:28the method of checking competitors so
- 00:14:30I'm like if they're selling I should
- 00:14:32sell too so the fact that I got a sale
- 00:14:35is actually wild to me cuz I was using
- 00:14:36the printify mockups so I think that's
- 00:14:39actually wild yeah so when you first
- 00:14:41reviewed my store that was the I was
- 00:14:43using my printify mockups I didn't even
- 00:14:45know what I was doing but yeah just I
- 00:14:48guess I just stopped checking like I
- 00:14:50guess that fire was still lit in me I
- 00:14:52like I needed this to work I mean if I
- 00:14:54didn't get my sale after a month then I
- 00:14:56think I'll would be a little
- 00:14:57disheartened but the fact like I I guess
- 00:14:59when you're not seeing sales you just
- 00:15:01kind of Wonder like what do I do so the
- 00:15:04fact that I was able to ask somebody I'm
- 00:15:06very grateful for I guess some people
- 00:15:08might run to YouTube and be like how to
- 00:15:09get better ads or better sales I don't
- 00:15:12know so a couple things I heard you say
- 00:15:14on in there that I think are important
- 00:15:15is that one you had like it sounds like
- 00:15:17you had a set amount of money that you
- 00:15:19like had like earmarked as like all
- 00:15:21right this is my investment money and it
- 00:15:23was money you were like kind of setting
- 00:15:24aside that like this is going into the
- 00:15:26business like just put it out of my head
- 00:15:28like what happened to it was that the
- 00:15:30first thing you mentioned yeah I just
- 00:15:32had some money to be honest like I
- 00:15:34didn't have that much to be spending on
- 00:15:36Drop Shipping but I honestly just put on
- 00:15:38my credit card and I'm like I'm just
- 00:15:39going to gamble and just but like any
- 00:15:41any amount that you're just like in even
- 00:15:43if it's just like a hundred bucks yeah
- 00:15:45was like in my head like that's gone
- 00:15:47like just setting it aside and then the
- 00:15:49the second thing I heard was that like
- 00:15:52as you were thinking about the process
- 00:15:54of like setting up your you sound like
- 00:15:56you were like very logical about it like
- 00:15:58very sequenc in how you were thinking
- 00:16:00you're like I do this and then I do that
- 00:16:02and I anything that's down there I know
- 00:16:04it's there but I don't even worry about
- 00:16:05it right now like that's just for you
- 00:16:07know Anita down the road is that how you
- 00:16:09were thinking through those things yeah
- 00:16:10and I honestly because of the checklist
- 00:16:12to be honest because there's steps laid
- 00:16:13out so I was just following the
- 00:16:16checklist I'm new to print on demand so
- 00:16:17I was just like okay the store is done
- 00:16:19okay the store is done that's out of my
- 00:16:21mind and then like once I finish the
- 00:16:23checklist it was ads so then okay my
- 00:16:24focus was on ads and ads only and I was
- 00:16:27just following that video yeah and but
- 00:16:29then something amazing that you did was
- 00:16:31that you got one you were Relentless in
- 00:16:33a very positive way and getting feedback
- 00:16:35like I I wish everybody would do that
- 00:16:38you but then you got the feedback and
- 00:16:39then you like immediately implemented it
- 00:16:41so much so that to the point that when
- 00:16:44we finally got on the one1 call like
- 00:16:46which couldn't have been like much more
- 00:16:48than a couple of weeks later yeah
- 00:16:50correct me if I'm wrong like it was
- 00:16:51pretty it wasn't months it was a couple
- 00:16:53weeks like you already had you had
- 00:16:55implemented all the changes and then you
- 00:16:57had already started like positive
- 00:16:59traction yeah after you and that was
- 00:17:02because like you did uh or maybe just
- 00:17:05want to run us through like a couple of
- 00:17:06the quick things that you had done yeah
- 00:17:08so as soon as I got the feedback I mean
- 00:17:10to be honest I'm somebody who doesn't
- 00:17:13like being like getting critiqued in
- 00:17:14front of every I'm very shy so just get
- 00:17:17watching that video is very hard to be
- 00:17:19honest being critiqued and knowing
- 00:17:20everybody's watching seeing how I did
- 00:17:23but I right away took notes and I'm like
- 00:17:25I need to make the change now cuz my ads
- 00:17:27I wanted results right away cuz I mean
- 00:17:30when you're running ads you're losing
- 00:17:31money every day so I was like I need to
- 00:17:33implement this right now to make up for
- 00:17:36lost time so yeah I changed everything I
- 00:17:39had to redo all my designs so I deleted
- 00:17:41everything and re-uploaded everything to
- 00:17:43change the mockups change everything and
- 00:17:46uh I started seeing sales and then
- 00:17:48that's when I knew I was like okay they
- 00:17:50know what they're doing I need to I need
- 00:17:52to listen and uh yeah I just took it
- 00:17:54with that and I actually learned like I
- 00:17:56shouldn't be afraid to ask for help so
- 00:17:58then I just all the time would ask for
- 00:18:00help in the community I wasn't afraid to
- 00:18:02because I was like it works when you ask
- 00:18:04for help it genuinely works like don't
- 00:18:07be afraid to put yourself out there and
- 00:18:09what's really remarkable about that is
- 00:18:11that like a lot of people they have the
- 00:18:13same feeling that you do of like they're
- 00:18:14afraid of putting thems like totally
- 00:18:17understandably of putting ourselves out
- 00:18:18there taking in that feedback especially
- 00:18:20publicly that takes a lot of bravery and
- 00:18:24like it's one thing alone just to ask
- 00:18:26for it like that's huge but then two to
- 00:18:28be able to to take it and like set our
- 00:18:30ego aside to like actually receive the
- 00:18:33feedback and like care more about the
- 00:18:36end result than like protecting our our
- 00:18:38own ego so what was it like in your your
- 00:18:40mindset that you think that allowed you
- 00:18:42to do that I think it was actually
- 00:18:44something you said about designs um when
- 00:18:46I first started my store I made the
- 00:18:48designs all myself without doing too
- 00:18:50much market research and I think I got
- 00:18:53so obsessed with the designs I took it
- 00:18:54personally and in one of your videos you
- 00:18:57said like it's not about you or the
- 00:18:59designs you made it's about what the
- 00:19:01market wants and I was like then I took
- 00:19:03a step back and I realized it's not
- 00:19:05about me this I don't get to like do
- 00:19:07whatever I want basically it's about the
- 00:19:09market so then that's when I think my
- 00:19:11mindset changed it's not about me
- 00:19:13nothing's personal it's purely the
- 00:19:16market and that's what I'm seeing with
- 00:19:17my store now I completely changed that
- 00:19:20and I just simply sell designs that the
- 00:19:22market likes I mean I still make some of
- 00:19:24my designs that I think would be cool
- 00:19:26but it's I think that's what it true
- 00:19:28truly is you just can't take anything
- 00:19:30personally with this it's not about you
- 00:19:32it's about what the market wants and
- 00:19:35then you are going to see success
- 00:19:37obviously yeah and and was there like a
- 00:19:39a Tipping Point or like a watershed
- 00:19:41moment for you where it shifted in your
- 00:19:44mindset from like caring more about like
- 00:19:46this is my design like it it better work
- 00:19:49to okay it's less about my design and
- 00:19:51like as long as the store is successful
- 00:19:53like that that's the most important
- 00:19:54thing was there a moment in particular
- 00:19:56that that happened for you I think when
- 00:19:58you first reviewed my story you said
- 00:20:00like check Amazon make sure you're
- 00:20:02checking Amazon or Etsy just make sure
- 00:20:04you're looking your designs because
- 00:20:05there was I think my designs that I made
- 00:20:08and you could clearly tell that's
- 00:20:09probably it was just me making of
- 00:20:11designs that I thought were pretty cool
- 00:20:13and uh then after that video I was like
- 00:20:15yeah let me just go on Amazon really
- 00:20:17quick and then I just really made a
- 00:20:18mental note of what's selling and I'm
- 00:20:20like okay I see so then I started making
- 00:20:22more designs like that and then the
- 00:20:24sales started coming in and I'm like
- 00:20:26that's the formula to be like I I'm
- 00:20:28getting it now so then I just like I
- 00:20:30actually I've redone my store like many
- 00:20:33times by now actually yeah when you
- 00:20:34reviewed my store I completely took
- 00:20:36everything off and weid all my designs
- 00:20:38simply of what the market research was
- 00:20:40and yeah started seeing sales like uh
- 00:20:43March the following month after the
- 00:20:45video like my story review was done I
- 00:20:48saw so much sales that that's when I it
- 00:20:51clicked in that's when I was like okay
- 00:20:53it's not about me nothing's personal do
- 00:20:55what how the market is and then you will
- 00:20:57see success and the cha-ching noises
- 00:21:00makes it a lot easier
- 00:21:03to and so was there as you like kept
- 00:21:06making these actually I don't want to
- 00:21:08get ahead yet uh on our call when we got
- 00:21:11on you had already made like a bunch of
- 00:21:13changes that were like even like some
- 00:21:15stuff outside of what we had recommended
- 00:21:16which I love seeing that you had like I
- 00:21:19don't know if audacity is the right word
- 00:21:20but you had the confidence to like try
- 00:21:21out something different and it paid off
- 00:21:23big like what was it that like brought
- 00:21:25you to that conclusion like it was like
- 00:21:27the the mockup like the life style
- 00:21:28mockups that I'm thinking of oh just
- 00:21:30trying that out on the first store like
- 00:21:32um on the first review yeah like when
- 00:21:34when we looked at your store I was like
- 00:21:36I would have never guessed because I
- 00:21:38think it was like a particular mockup
- 00:21:40and like design style that basically you
- 00:21:42just gone back to like just buying a
- 00:21:44bunch of designs and it sounded like you
- 00:21:46had really built up a really good
- 00:21:47process for just consistently adding new
- 00:21:50designs yeah so um I guess also
- 00:21:53something I learned in Drop Shipping in
- 00:21:54e-commerce you always want to compare
- 00:21:56yourself with your competitors be a bit
- 00:21:59better be one step ahead so I actually
- 00:22:02just started looking at um competitors
- 00:22:05Amazon Etsy and then I looked on Etsy
- 00:22:07and that's where I saw my Niche was
- 00:22:08actually doing really really good so
- 00:22:11then that's where I was like okay so
- 00:22:12this is where the market is for my Niche
- 00:22:14so I just started looking around there
- 00:22:16and just really absorbing what was doing
- 00:22:18really well and I guess I stumbled on
- 00:22:21that you could buy designs on Etsy that
- 00:22:23people actually sell it and then when
- 00:22:25you read the description it's for like
- 00:22:26commercial use and I was like I'm I'm
- 00:22:28going to try that like I I'm going to
- 00:22:30try so I actually spent like a good like
- 00:22:32couple hundred on these designs and put
- 00:22:35them up and like those designs became my
- 00:22:38bestselling those were my best
- 00:22:39performing ads and then that's what I
- 00:22:41learned that you can actually like just
- 00:22:43see what's designs that are trending and
- 00:22:46then you can find them on Etsy from
- 00:22:48graphic designers who made it so I was
- 00:22:49like well that's better than I can do on
- 00:22:51Mid Journey so I was like let me try
- 00:22:53this out and yeah they've become my best
- 00:22:56performing um designs and that's not to
- 00:22:58say that you need to buy but I've had
- 00:23:01some designs of mine that actually are
- 00:23:03like at the top best sellers as well and
- 00:23:05that's awesome because some people we
- 00:23:07talk to they go through like the course
- 00:23:10and like the content we put out is like
- 00:23:12just what's worked for us it's it's
- 00:23:14certainly not the only way that this can
- 00:23:16work far from it and but we talked to
- 00:23:18some people who they like I follow like
- 00:23:20step by step like they don't deviate
- 00:23:23outside of exactly what's laid out which
- 00:23:25like it's good to a point like Shopify
- 00:23:28store just follow it but like I'm
- 00:23:29curious what was it about like that
- 00:23:31design process that like I maybe briefly
- 00:23:33touched on it in the course about it's
- 00:23:35possible to buy designs I don't think I
- 00:23:37ever really went into into detail Yeah
- 00:23:39you mentioned like it's possible to buy
- 00:23:42designs but it's best to make it but I
- 00:23:43think that's dur uh more so you said for
- 00:23:45cost wise but I was like if I'm doing
- 00:23:48this I'm going to invest into this so
- 00:23:51and just seeing the cost of mid joury
- 00:23:53and everything and seeing how much the
- 00:23:55designs cost I'm like why not test it
- 00:23:57out so when I did test out buying
- 00:24:00designs I kind of have an eye for it now
- 00:24:02and I actually see which designs you
- 00:24:04know a good deal when you see it now
- 00:24:06exactly a good deal I know how to get a
- 00:24:09good discount on these designs and I
- 00:24:10know how to get these designs that I
- 00:24:12know will sell and they're actually
- 00:24:13becoming my best seller so I can tell
- 00:24:15now so I guess I just like don't be
- 00:24:18afraid to try it out like I actually
- 00:24:20steered away from the course couple of
- 00:24:22times actually to try out different
- 00:24:23things on my own and I feel like testing
- 00:24:26is the best way you got to also test
- 00:24:28don't be afraid to test new things like
- 00:24:30I actually test like you say to do
- 00:24:33$26.99 and do a sale but I was like What
- 00:24:36if I don't run a sale and I just had
- 00:24:37like $28.99 on my store and I had no
- 00:24:40sales and then I had these coupons like
- 00:24:42buy two get no yeah buy two get 15% off
- 00:24:45buy three and I just tested it out for
- 00:24:47two months and I was like it was
- 00:24:49actually doing pretty good but I went
- 00:24:50back but I was like it was just fun to
- 00:24:52test it out like I feel like you got to
- 00:24:54you know Steer away from the course
- 00:24:55sometimes as well like don't be afraid
- 00:24:57to like test things out nothing's bad's
- 00:25:00gon to happen yeah it sounds like you
- 00:25:02you almost viewed like testing things
- 00:25:03out in like a fun way yeah which is
- 00:25:06beautiful rather than it being like this
- 00:25:08is my thing like it has to work like it
- 00:25:10sounds like your correct me if I'm wrong
- 00:25:12but like your overall mindset with
- 00:25:13things is that it's kind of like a game
- 00:25:15and like something you're building
- 00:25:16that's fun and like a test is just like
- 00:25:18a fun next level of the game in a way
- 00:25:21exactly I think once um I got my store
- 00:25:23reviewed and I just knew like the base
- 00:25:25is good I was like well now it's a
- 00:25:27playground now you could like really
- 00:25:28Test new things out try different
- 00:25:30mockups try like I just learned that
- 00:25:33I've been testing out lifestyle mockups
- 00:25:35I know you say not to do them but I just
- 00:25:36put on an ad and that was actually my
- 00:25:38best performing ad was a lifestyle
- 00:25:40mockup so I was like it's good to test
- 00:25:42out like nothing bad will happen because
- 00:25:44like you can always reverse your store
- 00:25:45back if anything like if I don't see any
- 00:25:47performance I'm like I can reverse it
- 00:25:49but once I start testing it out like I
- 00:25:51just see positive things all the time so
- 00:25:54I guess that just kind of motivated me
- 00:25:55to keep testing and trying new things
- 00:25:58and I'm curious with that I love that
- 00:26:00mindset I'm curious how that mindset has
- 00:26:02fared with like as we've introduced
- 00:26:05different ad strategies like talking
- 00:26:07about Advantage Plus and like versus the
- 00:26:10original course which the way we tried
- 00:26:12to present it is like just different
- 00:26:14options I'm curious like how you
- 00:26:16approached that and like how you saw the
- 00:26:18different like options side by side yeah
- 00:26:21I was like why not I turned off all my
- 00:26:23old ads because I was doing
- 00:26:24International and um I I saw you guys
- 00:26:27were mentioning to do the Advantage Plus
- 00:26:29to us and I actually I don't know why
- 00:26:32but I skipped that stuff I started doing
- 00:26:33International I think way too early so I
- 00:26:37actually just turned off all my old ads
- 00:26:38and just did the advantage plus I think
- 00:26:40I'm on day 20 now and it's been pretty
- 00:26:43fun seeing us orders more than I've ever
- 00:26:46seen so I'm like well that's nice for
- 00:26:48you know the profit so I do remember
- 00:26:51that when we when we got on your
- 00:26:52oneon-one call I was I remember thinking
- 00:26:54wow she really she really jumps right
- 00:26:56ahead to worldwide I was like this is
- 00:26:58this is good she's she's moving and
- 00:27:01grooving and because I thought it was
- 00:27:03like a bigger market so I was like let
- 00:27:05me test it out get more orders yeah I
- 00:27:07mean why not I mean I I love love your
- 00:27:10mindset around testing and that you
- 00:27:12described it more eloquently than I ever
- 00:27:14have which is that what we show in the
- 00:27:16course is just one possible answer key
- 00:27:19if you want to view it that way like
- 00:27:20there's a million different ways to do
- 00:27:22it and your mindset on testing viewing
- 00:27:25it as a fun playful like opportunity to
- 00:27:27grow your your baby in a different way
- 00:27:30like I think that's a great mindset and
- 00:27:32a lot of times myself included it's like
- 00:27:34if I have something that's working I
- 00:27:36don't want to I don't want to like
- 00:27:37nobody touch it it's like don't mess it
- 00:27:39up that kind of thing so I I think we
- 00:27:42can all learn learn from that but cool
- 00:27:44so fast forward a little bit further
- 00:27:46into like so now you've been in the
- 00:27:48community for a little while now I'm
- 00:27:50curious for what has been the thing in
- 00:27:52the community that you found the most
- 00:27:54helpful for is it is has it been like
- 00:27:57the support of other people seeing like
- 00:27:59the social aspect of other people doing
- 00:28:00it the group coaching is there anything
- 00:28:02in particular that stands out oh I think
- 00:28:05just everything just seeing the
- 00:28:06engagement seeing other people's stories
- 00:28:08and just seeing that everyone's at
- 00:28:10different like stages which I really
- 00:28:12enjoy so then we can all learn something
- 00:28:14from each other I I I just think like
- 00:28:17this community is like the most amazing
- 00:28:19thing because I like I've been in so
- 00:28:21many so when I was thinking of joining
- 00:28:23into this one I'm like should I do it
- 00:28:24again I mean like I feel like I've
- 00:28:25learned my lesson with the other 10 that
- 00:28:27I've been in but I was like you know I'm
- 00:28:29going to try one last time and this has
- 00:28:31been the best community like everybody I
- 00:28:33just love seeing the engagement
- 00:28:34everybody sharing like I feel like
- 00:28:36people have become more open in this
- 00:28:38community because it is more like uh you
- 00:28:40know there's uh it's more closed off I
- 00:28:42guess you're not with u so many people
- 00:28:44so you just everybody's not afraid to
- 00:28:46share you know like they're sharing more
- 00:28:48of their little secret sauce that
- 00:28:50they're doing and I love to see that
- 00:28:51because I just feel like I'm an open
- 00:28:52book now I'm like I love to share
- 00:28:54everything that I'm doing I'm like like
- 00:28:56people private message me asking for
- 00:28:58help and I just love telling them
- 00:29:00everything I'm like let me tell you
- 00:29:01everything I'll share your screenshots
- 00:29:02anything you want to see about my store
- 00:29:04like I'll tell you what I'm doing like I
- 00:29:06just think that it's so great that
- 00:29:07everybody's just helping each other
- 00:29:09everybody's at different stages and
- 00:29:11we're just all able to learn from each
- 00:29:13other I think that's so great and then
- 00:29:14just having access to coaches and being
- 00:29:16able to ask for help because there is
- 00:29:18moments where you're just like something
- 00:29:20happens you're like what do I do like I
- 00:29:22had that when I had such a big order I'm
- 00:29:24like what do I do now like I I don't
- 00:29:26even know I remember that
- 00:29:28for anybody who's listening Anita
- 00:29:30messaged me like a couple weeks ago and
- 00:29:32said hey I just got this really big
- 00:29:34order like do you think it's legit and I
- 00:29:36just said uh what I to look look up the
- 00:29:39address and if it's a sketchy Warehouse
- 00:29:41then to cancel it but you're like it's a
- 00:29:43house I'm like then we're good then it's
- 00:29:45a good order yeah so that was just
- 00:29:47awesome because I mean there's moments
- 00:29:49in like business where you just you
- 00:29:51don't know what to do you're just kind
- 00:29:52of like stuck there kind of looking
- 00:29:54around like okay what do I do who do I
- 00:29:55ask for help and this community is just
- 00:29:57nice cuzz you can just ask for help and
- 00:29:59people are there and people reply pretty
- 00:30:01quick which is actually really awesome
- 00:30:02people are quick with it people are
- 00:30:04there to give you help and it's just I
- 00:30:06think it's so awesome and then just the
- 00:30:08pods it's just it gets better and better
- 00:30:10so it's really really awesome well and
- 00:30:12it's definitely a a carry your own bags
- 00:30:14type of organization where the people
- 00:30:16who have the best experiences are often
- 00:30:18times the ones who are putting the most
- 00:30:20into it and it's kind of like a mirror
- 00:30:22of yourself like whatever you put out
- 00:30:24kind of just like the world whatever you
- 00:30:26put out into the world is normally
- 00:30:28reflected back at you like 10 times over
- 00:30:30and so I think it's no mistake that like
- 00:30:32you're having such a great experience is
- 00:30:34because of all the positivity not just
- 00:30:37in the value and knowledge you
- 00:30:38contribute but just your positive energy
- 00:30:40is so infectious in the best way
- 00:30:42possible um and there it
- 00:30:45is Ching again that that is a beautiful
- 00:30:49noise and we we'll let you get going to
- 00:30:51your CH Changs in just a second but uh
- 00:30:54couple last questions for you about So
- 00:30:56for anybody who is going through that uh
- 00:30:59quote unquote Rocky cutscene going
- 00:31:01through the point where you are building
- 00:31:03your store you're making your designs
- 00:31:05and it just feels like day after like
- 00:31:07Groundhog Day and maybe you haven't
- 00:31:10gotten good result maybe you haven't
- 00:31:11even gotten your first sale yet but you
- 00:31:13have a vision in your mind and like you
- 00:31:15know you want to get there but right now
- 00:31:17it's so hard to see a light at the end
- 00:31:19of the tunnel what would be your message
- 00:31:21or or thoughts to somebody who's in that
- 00:31:24spot ask for help honestly that's like
- 00:31:26the best thing you could do because when
- 00:31:28it may feel lonely when you're in this
- 00:31:30moments I feel like people are afraid to
- 00:31:31ask for help but honestly it's the best
- 00:31:33thing you could do cuz I just I've been
- 00:31:35there where and it just seems like
- 00:31:36should I give up like no like ask for
- 00:31:39help and then somebody will help you and
- 00:31:41just yeah I guess put your ego to the
- 00:31:43side cuz I've learned just don't take
- 00:31:45anything personally like people are
- 00:31:47there to help you and everything people
- 00:31:48are suggesting will help you get there
- 00:31:51so I just feel like you will get there
- 00:31:53just don't give up and ask for help and
- 00:31:56this community is like what better place
- 00:31:58to ask for help because you just have
- 00:32:00like coaches and everybody there just so
- 00:32:02willing to help so don't give up like
- 00:32:04it's it's going to get better that's
- 00:32:06I've been there for sure do it the do
- 00:32:09with the Anita Way ask for help and and
- 00:32:12just the other thing you did very well
- 00:32:13was that you you you took the feedback
- 00:32:16and then you applied it right away yeah
- 00:32:18and you didn't you like put yourself
- 00:32:20which is a very challenging thing to do
- 00:32:22like you put yourself to the side and
- 00:32:24you're like I'm doing this like I took
- 00:32:26the I push for the feedback push I put
- 00:32:28myself out there now I'm going to make
- 00:32:30it worth it and I'm going to directly
- 00:32:32apply all of it and especially for you
- 00:32:34like you said like you had a lot of
- 00:32:36designs that like you you made stuff
- 00:32:37that you thought was cool and like put
- 00:32:39your heart into like we all do and then
- 00:32:41to get the feedback of like it's good
- 00:32:43stuff but like we should probably go in
- 00:32:44this direction for the market I think it
- 00:32:46was remarkable like the way that you
- 00:32:48were able to put yourself to the side
- 00:32:49and just go all out I'm curious if any
- 00:32:52last piece of advice on that piece like
- 00:32:54setting your ego to the side just to get
- 00:32:56the best result there's anything
- 00:32:58obviously you had the Drop Shipping
- 00:33:00experience which maybe gave you I don't
- 00:33:02know thicker skin might be the wrong
- 00:33:04word but there's any piece of advice you
- 00:33:06could give to somebody who like picture
- 00:33:07somebody who just made 50 designs put
- 00:33:09their heart and soul into it and then
- 00:33:11they get feedback from the community or
- 00:33:13whoever and they say that's not it we
- 00:33:16should go in this direction how they
- 00:33:17should handle that I guess yeah just
- 00:33:20learn that the market it's also about
- 00:33:22the market too it's not personally about
- 00:33:24you like when somebody makes a feedback
- 00:33:27on your design it's nothing to do with
- 00:33:28you and your artistic like design it has
- 00:33:31nothing to do with that it's truly the
- 00:33:33market once you learn how the market
- 00:33:35operates in the future while you build
- 00:33:37your brand you could definitely make
- 00:33:39your own designs like why they suggest
- 00:33:41um I think to follow the market in the
- 00:33:44beginning a bit is you're building your
- 00:33:46brand you want people to recogn like
- 00:33:49notice you that sounded really basically
- 00:33:52what you're saying is like not taking it
- 00:33:54what I think got you through it
- 00:33:56originally was hearing that it's not
- 00:33:58reflection of yourself or the value that
- 00:34:00you have as a person in any way it's
- 00:34:02just solely about and like the skill
- 00:34:03that we're really building is not
- 00:34:05necessarily design creation and our
- 00:34:07Artistry that's a piece of it but what
- 00:34:09we're really doing is the real skill is
- 00:34:11building like reading the market and
- 00:34:14identifying what people want and then
- 00:34:16closing the Gap and closing that Gap a
- 00:34:19piece of it is like the Artistry but
- 00:34:21it's doing the Artistry in a very
- 00:34:23specific way and it's when people just
- 00:34:25focus on that and like kind kind of head
- 00:34:28down on that that's where when we pick
- 00:34:30our heads up it's kind of like a an
- 00:34:32Awakening in a way but um and so at 400
- 00:34:36in sales and Counting 401 sales now
- 00:34:39which is amazing looking out at the next
- 00:34:426 to 12 months what is the future hold
- 00:34:44for Anita what what do you want to be
- 00:34:46doing where do you want the brand to be
- 00:34:48what's your your picture um definitely
- 00:34:51seeing more green in the my P p&l sheet
- 00:34:56um which I actually am see like it's
- 00:34:58slowly going up which is awesome but I'd
- 00:35:00love to just you know do six figures I
- 00:35:03think that's my next Big Goal you know
- 00:35:05I'm I've definitely been doing more of
- 00:35:07the testing I've tried out the 29.99 on
- 00:35:10my store now so hearing the kaching is
- 00:35:12actually very nice to hear that that's
- 00:35:15working well so yeah just definitely
- 00:35:18keep going adding more designs I'm doing
- 00:35:20the 7-Day design challenge as well so
- 00:35:23I'm just testing everything out and not
- 00:35:26just going with it you know and just
- 00:35:27seeing where takes me so yeah I think
- 00:35:29building the brand and I also want to
- 00:35:31add more designs as well like uh more
- 00:35:33products I was thinking I want to try
- 00:35:35tting that out too but yeah just
- 00:35:38building a brand getting those six
- 00:35:40figures I think would be awesome that
- 00:35:42would be so nice I I think you were you
- 00:35:44were well in your way and not just
- 00:35:46because of the results that you've had
- 00:35:48so far but what makes me even more
- 00:35:50confident that you're going to reach
- 00:35:51that is your mindset and how you're
- 00:35:53viewing it all of it as number one a
- 00:35:55learning experience you're getting
- 00:35:57better every day and number two you're
- 00:35:59viewing it as a game and as something
- 00:36:01that's fun and like beautiful and like
- 00:36:03very enjoyable not not to say I'm sure
- 00:36:06like for all of us there's times where
- 00:36:07things are challenging but your
- 00:36:09overarching mindset is like this is fun
- 00:36:12and it it comes off as like you view it
- 00:36:14as like a privilege and like something
- 00:36:15that you enjoy doing which you know it's
- 00:36:19like a overused saying maybe but like do
- 00:36:21something you love you never work a day
- 00:36:22in your life you very much seem to be
- 00:36:25embodying that and it's it's beautiful
- 00:36:27thank you so much Anita I have
