00:00:02
[Music]
00:00:04
we have
00:00:04
a variety of pns coatings here and uh we
00:00:08
wanted to briefly touch up on these
00:00:09
because i know that we have released
00:00:11
something new and we haven't really
00:00:13
talked about it a whole lot
00:00:14
um and i want to just kind of cover
00:00:16
cover the basics here for anybody that's
00:00:18
new to this
00:00:19
make sure you go check out the
00:00:20
ragcompanypodcast.com if you're
00:00:21
listening so you can
00:00:22
take a look and see what we got on the
00:00:24
table visually see this okay so first
00:00:26
off what we have
00:00:26
i'm gonna work my way on two then levi's
00:00:28
gonna grab the other two so
00:00:30
uh first off we have the inspiration
00:00:31
glass coding right so this was
00:00:34
introduced it's called view inspiration
00:00:36
view people mostly know it by view
00:00:38
i'm just gonna call inspiration glass
00:00:39
coding right because it's the easiest
00:00:41
thing to do but i
00:00:42
okay fine for for for visual reference
00:00:45
it's the same thing view with uh not
00:00:47
spelled traditionally v-u-e
00:00:49
is actually how they spell it and so um
00:00:52
this is a glass coating made by pns
00:00:54
um basically if you've used glass
00:00:55
coatings before you know what they're
00:00:57
all about basically you're going to have
00:00:59
superior water repellency you are going
00:01:01
to have
00:01:02
a little bit of abrasion resistance so
00:01:03
maybe more
00:01:05
less likely to chip but i'm not saying
00:01:07
it's bulletproof by any means
00:01:09
and these are friendly for windshield
00:01:10
wipers when it comes to
00:01:12
coating your windshield with other
00:01:13
coatings that are not specifically for
00:01:15
windshield they cannot hold up to
00:01:18
windshield wipers basically they will
00:01:20
start to wear in that area
00:01:21
and they cannot handle that resistance
00:01:23
so basically
00:01:24
view glass coating it's easy to apply um
00:01:27
we do have a video out on it i i think
00:01:30
it's either on a product page or do you
00:01:31
know where it's at we did shoot a video
00:01:33
and it was sydney
00:01:34
on ins yeah it's on our live is it on
00:01:36
the live
00:01:37
well we've got a video here we did with
00:01:39
sydney yeah
00:01:40
with the whole team it's just on our
00:01:42
product video then we also have a live
00:01:44
in which
00:01:44
sydney actually does it and puts it on
00:01:46
the suburban okay
00:01:48
all right so so uh the next step is
00:01:49
going to be the uh
00:01:51
traditional inspiration coding me and
00:01:52
levi had both had this on our cars
00:01:55
i had that on the civic for roughly two
00:01:57
years with one application
00:01:59
um and i think it even kept going i had
00:02:01
to actually remove what was left over
00:02:02
the coding before doing something else
00:02:04
uh levi's had this on his wife's camry
00:02:07
for you had it for there for
00:02:08
two or three years yeah almost three
00:02:09
years almost three years and that was
00:02:11
one application yep
00:02:12
so um we got our hands on it when it
00:02:14
first came out um when it first came out
00:02:16
it was a little bit difficult to use and
00:02:18
then they've kind of made some changes
00:02:20
to it over the last couple of years a
00:02:21
little easier make it easier to apply
00:02:23
um but this is hands down probably one
00:02:26
of the hardest coatings
00:02:28
that i've used in comparison to all the
00:02:30
other big major brands artisan strength
00:02:32
heart is in strength yeah not hard as in
00:02:34
hard to apply
00:02:36
it's it's it has extreme
00:02:39
i would say extreme swirl resistance
00:02:41
yeah in comparison to a lot of the other
00:02:42
coatings that i've used yeah i mean i've
00:02:45
we've used a lot here we test them out
00:02:47
all the time
00:02:48
um and it's one of those things to where
00:02:50
i didn't realize how good it was
00:02:52
until by the time i was able to remove
00:02:54
it and then i put on a new coating and i
00:02:55
realized
00:02:56
dang that previous one was actually a
00:02:58
lot yeah
00:02:59
more swirl resistant than i thought it
00:03:00
was and so um
00:03:03
anyways inspiration is fantastic i tell
00:03:05
people that if you're looking for
00:03:06
um a two to three year coating for the
00:03:10
price
00:03:10
for the work it's awesome and adds a lot
00:03:13
of depth and when you use
00:03:14
um pns speed maker with it man really
00:03:18
uh yeah locks in the flavor yeah uh we
00:03:20
have uh
00:03:21
shelby here says how many applications
00:03:22
of view per bottle oh my gosh how many
00:03:25
how many windshields can you think you
00:03:26
do
00:03:26
you could do a couple of them probably
00:03:28
i'd probably guess you actually i think
00:03:29
it's
00:03:30
like 30 mils
00:03:34
you could probably get at least a dozen
00:03:36
windshields out of that i think
00:03:37
i depending on the size i would say you
00:03:39
can do at least a dozen because
00:03:41
with vue you're not laying it on super
00:03:43
thick you guys have to remember that
00:03:44
basically what you're doing is and once
00:03:46
you're applying it
00:03:47
um the applicator and then after you
00:03:49
apply it you're waiting for it to flash
00:03:51
and then you're wiping off with a towel
00:03:53
a lot of that residual view product will
00:03:55
actually spread in the wiping process
00:03:57
with the towel
00:03:57
so you don't need to have a really thick
00:03:59
coverage yeah in my opinion
00:04:01
um glass is only so porous to where it
00:04:03
can only accept so much stuff so yeah
00:04:04
um and then the one other from kirby
00:04:06
thompson there um it says
00:04:08
does view work well on the suv rear
00:04:10
glass to promote shedding of
00:04:11
nasty rain back spray
00:04:14
so i've yet to use it on anything on the
00:04:17
rear however
00:04:18
this is something that i'll probably put
00:04:19
on my wife's 4runner because the 4runner
00:04:22
it just accumulates super fast much
00:04:25
stuff back there
00:04:26
i would probably use this on the back of
00:04:29
there just just to have it on just to
00:04:30
make it easier to clean in the first
00:04:32
place because
00:04:33
it gets so caked on i'm talking like
00:04:35
thick yeah to where if there was a
00:04:37
coating on it
00:04:38
i'd feel much more confident and just
00:04:39
spraying it down with water right you
00:04:41
know
00:04:41
squeegeeing off or wiping off with a
00:04:43
towel and just calling it good and
00:04:45
sending her on her way because again i
00:04:47
can't keep that car too clean i start to
00:04:49
lose my mind
00:04:50
um so anyways uh but yeah view is great
00:04:53
it's it's a great glass coating
00:04:55
i think that you know g-technic also has
00:04:57
a great glass coating it's just a matter
00:04:58
of kind of just picking one and going
00:05:00
with it
00:05:00
and some people aren't fans of glass
00:05:02
coating that's okay um there's other
00:05:04
people that just like to do bead maker
00:05:06
on their windshield every day or c2v3 or
00:05:08
whatever it is and if you want to do it
00:05:10
that way you can too
00:05:11
um because glass coating is just a
00:05:13
little bit more of a process but it is
00:05:14
well worth it so
00:05:15
yeah uh levi what do you got over there
00:05:16
well i'm gonna start on this side so
00:05:19
we got inspiration so again
00:05:22
inspiration is the family of coatings
00:05:25
right
00:05:26
so you've got you've got traditional
00:05:28
inspiration ceramic coating
00:05:29
then you've got view for your windshield
00:05:32
this is soul
00:05:34
soul sole oh
00:05:38
so soul means that it can be a yearly
00:05:41
by itself or can be used
00:05:44
as a topper for
00:05:47
either standard inspiration or
00:05:50
this other coding legend could i put it
00:05:52
on top of you since people are going to
00:05:54
probably
00:05:54
probably say no okay so because it's not
00:05:56
as resistant it's not as resistant
00:05:58
as inspiration so soul we put it on the
00:06:02
suburban
00:06:03
yep over the top of the vinyl wrap it
00:06:05
seems to be doing really well
00:06:07
i've been running it through a car wash
00:06:08
a couple times just to make sure that i
00:06:09
can
00:06:10
that it's holding up a little bit sure
00:06:13
very very simple easy easy easy to apply
00:06:16
if you're looking at wanting to apply
00:06:19
something
00:06:20
for a customer that gives them very nice
00:06:23
strong protection
00:06:25
soul is one of those products that you
00:06:26
could start adding and applying because
00:06:28
it is a one-year coding
00:06:29
okay so more so i try to remember this
00:06:32
as
00:06:33
you get the benefits of the coating but
00:06:36
it's more of like
00:06:38
a replacement for a paint sealant so
00:06:40
like a one year sealant if
00:06:42
you're looking for something for long
00:06:43
term fan of optimum gloss coat use that
00:06:46
previously on a cardstock correct
00:06:47
this is like a good kind of uh lateral
00:06:49
move this is that kind of similar
00:06:51
product yeah it's a coating
00:06:52
but it's not like one of these crazier
00:06:54
heavy duty yeah
00:06:56
i can i can give this to your mom and
00:06:58
she can put it on her car on the weekend
00:07:00
in the garage and have no issues so
00:07:01
user-friendly very very
00:07:03
simple very easy this is the product
00:07:05
that you could give to your parents and
00:07:06
be like hey
00:07:07
go coat your lawnmower go coat your so i
00:07:10
guess all your stuff so somebody
00:07:11
one of those things you could do
00:07:12
somebody who's never used any of these
00:07:14
what makes
00:07:15
soul coding easier than like the
00:07:17
original inspiration or some of these
00:07:18
others
00:07:19
well chemically they're easier they're
00:07:21
similar yet differences i think
00:07:22
there's less i think that there's less
00:07:25
solids in the soul
00:07:26
which makes it easier to apply and the
00:07:28
flash off is
00:07:30
is very long i mean basically because
00:07:32
there's less solids it's less things to
00:07:34
basically start to activate once it's in
00:07:35
the air
00:07:36
um it kind of what soul reminds me of
00:07:38
honestly
00:07:39
so it reminds me of the user-friendly
00:07:41
ability that
00:07:42
that optiseal has right in terms of like
00:07:44
that slickness that
00:07:46
it provides um but you can tell you are
00:07:49
applying something thicker to the
00:07:51
surface like optical is very very thin
00:07:53
this is very is much thicker than that
00:07:55
um but what would you describe the
00:07:57
experience as uh from a
00:07:59
uh uh it's refreshing a smelling
00:08:02
perspective refreshing because it's a
00:08:04
it's a bit of a menthol scent a bit
00:08:07
of a menthol kind of a peppermint it is
00:08:09
all of them
00:08:12
uh clears the nostrils uh in a good way
00:08:14
though it's not in a bad way
00:08:16
it's got a nice fresh scent you were at
00:08:18
a day spa when you were
00:08:19
i was so this is one of my favorites
00:08:22
i this you like i know impressed with
00:08:25
how easy this is
00:08:27
um this is one of those products that i
00:08:28
used to say when i did cars
00:08:31
i would coat i'd kind of cheat the
00:08:33
system
00:08:34
i'd get those cars that would come in
00:08:35
every three to four months
00:08:37
yeah customers that were that i never
00:08:39
really had to clean their car it was
00:08:41
already
00:08:41
really clean yeah i throw a easy coating
00:08:45
i used to do
00:08:45
gloss coat this is what i would have
00:08:47
been i would have thrown this on their
00:08:49
car
00:08:50
why because they were also my best
00:08:53
marketers they would take their car
00:08:56
their car was always clean
00:08:57
even though it was a lot of them they
00:08:59
would go man your car is always clean
00:09:00
how do you keep it clean and i go oh
00:09:02
that's uh
00:09:03
you know they'd say that levi our
00:09:04
detailer he does that kind of stuff
00:09:06
you know but this just ensures that that
00:09:09
car looks even cleaner looks nicer
00:09:11
stays longer um when half the time it
00:09:14
takes the same amount of time to install
00:09:16
vue as it would a
00:09:17
traditional paint sealant so yeah at
00:09:19
that point why wouldn't you do that for
00:09:21
the added benefit of knowing that the
00:09:22
car is going to look better stay cleaner
00:09:24
and have better protection yes and
00:09:26
that's what my leading
00:09:28
questioning was about was to help people
00:09:30
understand what some of the differences
00:09:32
are where they think oh
00:09:34
the the chemical makeup and such
00:09:35
whatever what makes something easy well
00:09:37
it's things like okay the amount of time
00:09:39
you have to work with the product yeah
00:09:40
you have a lot of deals when you're
00:09:41
actually
00:09:42
you know like i said this is a very easy
00:09:44
chem coding to
00:09:45
install forgiving is probably very
00:09:47
forgiving very easy it's also what we
00:09:49
refer to as cannibalistic
00:09:51
meaning that if you leave a little spot
00:09:53
on there and you miss it you're like oh
00:09:55
i forgot to get that
00:09:56
you can put this back on and rub a
00:09:58
little more on yeah and then wipe it off
00:10:00
levels it out yeah
00:10:01
and have no issues that's the contrast
00:10:03
where that the original inspiration
00:10:05
is not in your testing found oh don't
00:10:08
get too far ahead of yourself don't put
00:10:10
more
00:10:10
hot spots yeah oh my god
00:10:14
the spot you've created work with that
00:10:16
and then work out from there but only
00:10:18
work in you know small areas
00:10:19
because people like to get ahead of
00:10:21
themselves thinking every product is as
00:10:22
easy to use as that where
00:10:24
if you learn you can do an awesome job
00:10:26
with that well it's just a matter of
00:10:28
building that experience right and to be
00:10:30
fair man the surface tension
00:10:32
of inspiration is is of just the
00:10:33
original is insane i mean right off the
00:10:36
bat
00:10:36
that was my first experience ever seeing
00:10:39
i think i think i
00:10:40
i explained this on a podcast i had
00:10:43
applied inspiration to my car
00:10:45
right yeah it baked overnight i pulled
00:10:48
out the next morning i was checking for
00:10:49
high spots
00:10:50
i had high spots you know because i did
00:10:52
it without proper lighting
00:10:54
but anyway i pulled it out and that was
00:10:56
the day that i said oh i got to turn my
00:10:58
sprinklers on right
00:10:59
and i go to turn my valve right with my
00:11:02
thing
00:11:03
and i pop off this dirty murky water
00:11:07
right dude it flew up in the air right i
00:11:09
landed on the car landed on the car
00:11:11
it went off like literally not a
00:11:15
drop of it on the car and i go oh my god
00:11:18
what
00:11:19
that's incredible like it didn't bead
00:11:22
yeah
00:11:23
no it just literally just it was like
00:11:26
it was like oh my god it was a ton it
00:11:29
was like a huge amount
00:11:31
and i couldn't believe it it was like
00:11:33
wow inspiration man that that's
00:11:34
crazy service change right off the bat
00:11:36
so levi cover
00:11:38
basically though in conclusion you can
00:11:41
use inspiration then top it with soul
00:11:44
if you like or you can use soul on its
00:11:45
own now i did have a
00:11:47
quick question sorry not to throw you
00:11:48
off more can't so
00:11:50
you can't do it it's not it's not a
00:11:52
can't do extra coats yeah it's not a
00:11:53
multiple coat product it's a one coat
00:11:54
yeah
00:11:55
so one coat so it's a year at the end of
00:11:57
that year you can add another coat so
00:11:59
it's good but yeah polish it and coat it
00:12:02
again and you could just you could also
00:12:03
throw in another layer six months down
00:12:05
the road i mean basically the beauty of
00:12:06
seoul is that
00:12:07
your car i mean with knowing our
00:12:10
customers
00:12:11
it's got to be cured if it's if it's not
00:12:13
cured yet
00:12:14
then it's still cannibalistic what i'm
00:12:16
saying yeah what i'm saying is not even
00:12:18
not even not even that i'm saying just
00:12:20
with how many people are applying
00:12:22
bead maker and everything else like that
00:12:23
so often even if you were to do a solo
00:12:25
application and then just top it with
00:12:27
bead maker
00:12:28
for six months to a year that coating is
00:12:30
still going to be there then what's the
00:12:31
worst thing you have to do
00:12:32
your paint's still clean you probably
00:12:34
don't have to polish it you're
00:12:36
probably not contaminated you want to
00:12:38
give it a quick clay paint prep it throw
00:12:40
more sole on it and call it good yeah
00:12:41
and that's for it's about as easy as
00:12:43
maintenance as you can get while still
00:12:44
having technically a ceramic coating
00:12:46
yeah yeah
00:12:47
so finally okay the new
00:12:50
the new hotness on the block yeah
00:12:52
everybody keeps asking
00:12:53
legend now legend
00:12:57
is pns's newest coding it's kind of
00:13:00
their 60-year anniversary as a chemical
00:13:02
company
00:13:03
it's their uh their swan song so to
00:13:05
speak
00:13:07
so they took all the benefits of
00:13:09
inspiration
00:13:11
they took some of the ease of
00:13:13
application
00:13:14
from seoul and they made a new
00:13:17
super strong coating this coating
00:13:21
has a 41 percent increase in solids over
00:13:24
standard inspiration
00:13:25
so it's thick with two c's thick and
00:13:29
here's the deal one of the great things
00:13:30
about uh
00:13:32
legend it's a five-year coding
00:13:35
yeah now anthony and i when we put on
00:13:39
inspiration inspiration was
00:13:40
they said it's a good two-year coding if
00:13:43
you do a couple codes
00:13:44
it has the potential to last a little
00:13:46
longer but we're going to say it's two
00:13:47
years
00:13:48
anthony got a good two years out of one
00:13:50
coat
00:13:51
i got almost three years out of one coat
00:13:55
if i would have done the the two year
00:13:57
the two coats
00:13:58
of inspiration i probably could have
00:14:00
gotten three four years
00:14:02
with proper washing the group of pns are
00:14:06
basically saying the same thing with
00:14:07
this they're saying
00:14:09
you can do a coat of legend or two coats
00:14:12
of legend
00:14:12
and a coat of soul if you or you can do
00:14:16
two coats of legend
00:14:17
standalone they're saying
00:14:20
easily you'll get five years out of this
00:14:23
they basically
00:14:24
tend to underrate based on that to me
00:14:27
i easily think this is my opinion
00:14:30
i feel that you could probably get seven
00:14:32
years out of this product oh i think
00:14:34
they they won't call it that but this
00:14:36
could vary they won't say that
00:14:38
i will just say based on experience with
00:14:39
the inspiration line
00:14:41
if it holds to the same yeah same thing
00:14:44
yeah
00:14:44
you know it's always a uh not a
00:14:49
uh under under promise over deliver kind
00:14:52
of thing like
00:14:53
you know we'll tell you it's five years
00:14:55
you're probably going to get seven years
00:14:56
porsche with the 0 to 60 times it's very
00:14:58
like modest yeah it'll do this that's a
00:15:00
good coating
00:15:02
so here's the deal you could do this and
00:15:04
this in your six
00:15:05
six years out the gate ready to rock and
00:15:07
roll uh
00:15:09
this product i probably think what's
00:15:12
going to happen now we don't have enough
00:15:14
seat time behind it we don't have enough
00:15:16
real world testing behind it
00:15:18
uh i do want to put this on my wife's
00:15:20
camera because i'm my camry doesn't have
00:15:22
anything on it
00:15:22
before with that one it doesn't have
00:15:24
anything on it i took off the original
00:15:26
inspiration right now it's just running
00:15:27
bead maker and and uno protect yeah
00:15:29
right
00:15:30
but i imagine this to be
00:15:33
just as equally hard if not harder than
00:15:36
inspiration in terms of strength
00:15:38
which we all know is great because augie
00:15:40
likes to drive things down the side of a
00:15:41
car
00:15:43
and with the added benefit of its
00:15:46
chemical resistance
00:15:47
it's gloss because it's one thing
00:15:50
inspiration does really well
00:15:52
pops gloss like nobody's business always
00:15:54
and then on top of that still being able
00:15:56
to use bead maker still be able to use
00:15:57
sole
00:15:58
all that stuff on top it's a real winner
00:16:01
um
00:16:01
to have that and be able to utilize that
00:16:04
so that's
00:16:05
i know we've we've everyone's been
00:16:07
asking
00:16:08
you know we've been kind of being quiet
00:16:09
about it uh gabe's little silver car
00:16:12
that he just bought we did half the car
00:16:14
in legend and seoul
00:16:15
so we did half of it with the legend
00:16:16
with a top coat of soul and the other
00:16:18
half in csl
00:16:20
so we'll have ourselves we'll let him
00:16:22
see we'll let him play with it i'm going
00:16:24
to put legend on my car
00:16:25
and really get some get some numbers
00:16:27
behind it you know
00:16:28
some real world testing that's how
00:16:30
legends are made that's right
00:16:31
that's right that's exactly how it's
00:16:33
like everybody
