- 00:00:00my model 3 has hit over 50,000 miles in
- 00:00:03a little over the last two years so
- 00:00:05after two Las Vegas Summers and a
- 00:00:07handful of road trips how is it held up
- 00:00:10we're going to go through everything
- 00:00:11starting with all the costs both how
- 00:00:13much I spent and how much I saved what
- 00:00:16have I done to the car for maintenance
- 00:00:18how durable has the interior and the
- 00:00:20exterior been how much range have I lost
- 00:00:23and how much money have I lost in resale
- 00:00:25value then we'll talk about more
- 00:00:26personal things like my experience both
- 00:00:29the pros and cons this accident which is
- 00:00:32sort of a crazy story what we've done to
- 00:00:34the car both upgrades and accessory wise
- 00:00:36and then ultimately answered the
- 00:00:38question would I buy it again so let's
- 00:00:41go ahead and get into it so I got my
- 00:00:43model 3 in August of 2022 and the Tesla
- 00:00:46app shows charging data by the year so
- 00:00:48in 2022 I spent a total of
- 00:00:51$689 charging my model 3 in 2023 I spent
- 00:00:57$1,679 and this year so far 202 4 I
- 00:01:00spent
- 00:01:01$419 which all combined equals a grand
- 00:01:04total of
- 00:01:06$2,787 worth of charging this model 3
- 00:01:09and to get even more specific in the
- 00:01:11Tesla app we can look at at home
- 00:01:13charging versus supercharging so at home
- 00:01:16over the years I spent $276 in 2022 $718
- 00:01:212023 and
- 00:01:22$288 so far this year in 2024 all at
- 00:01:26home for a grand total of at home
- 00:01:28charging cost of 1,000
- 00:01:30282 now supercharging over those years
- 00:01:332022 was $413 spent at superchargers
- 00:01:372023 superchargers were
- 00:01:39$961 and so far this year in 2024 I
- 00:01:42spent
- 00:01:43$131 at superchargers for a grand
- 00:01:46supercharging total of
- 00:01:49$1,555 which is interesting because we
- 00:01:51charge at home all the time the only
- 00:01:54time we use superchargers are on road
- 00:01:55trips which makes sense we've gone a
- 00:01:57couple times to and from Chicago a
- 00:02:00handful of weekend trips to California
- 00:02:01and you rack up some miles on those so
- 00:02:03although we're not on the road as often
- 00:02:05as we would like to we're charging at
- 00:02:07home most of the time we still spend
- 00:02:09quite a bit at supercharges because we
- 00:02:11are wrecking up a lot of miles and
- 00:02:13supercharges are a little more or
- 00:02:15depending where you're at a lot more
- 00:02:17expensive than at home charging so if
- 00:02:19you're someone who charges at home all
- 00:02:20the time and doesn't take any road trips
- 00:02:22your spending can be a lot less than
- 00:02:24what ours is but anyways
- 00:02:26$2,787 to go a little over 50,000 miles
- 00:02:29may or may not sound like a lot so let's
- 00:02:31compare it to a gas car and see how much
- 00:02:33money we actually save by driving this
- 00:02:35model 3 what's really cool is that the
- 00:02:36Tesla app takes into account the average
- 00:02:39gas prices of the state that you're in
- 00:02:40when calculating these savings for more
- 00:02:43accuracy SO gas is a bit pricier here in
- 00:02:45Las Vegas I believe but here are the gas
- 00:02:47prices based on the average cost of gas
- 00:02:50here in Las Vegas so in 2022 like I said
- 00:02:52we spent $689 charging gas would have
- 00:02:55cost us
- 00:02:57$1,771 so that year we SA saved $1,082
- 00:03:01by charging our model 3 in 2023 we spent
- 00:03:04$679 like I said gas would have cost us
- 00:03:08$4,240 so in total we saved
- 00:03:13$2,565 that year in 2023 and lastly this
- 00:03:17year so far like I said we spent $419
- 00:03:19charging gas would have cost us
- 00:03:22$1,281 so we've saved
- 00:03:25$862 just this year so far by charging
- 00:03:28the total cost of gas driving 50,000 Mi
- 00:03:31over the last 2 years would have cost us
- 00:03:33a total of $
- 00:03:357,296 so we've saved
- 00:03:39$4,599 by charging this Tesla both at
- 00:03:42superchargers and at home total charging
- 00:03:44which is insane and remember we've been
- 00:03:47on two CrossCountry road trips a handful
- 00:03:50of weekend trips to and from California
- 00:03:52using superchargers the entire way so
- 00:03:54our savings could have been even greater
- 00:03:56if we didn't road trip as much as we do
- 00:03:58so next let's get into the maintenance
- 00:04:00what I've done to the car and how much
- 00:04:01that all cost and honestly it's going to
- 00:04:03be a short section because we have not
- 00:04:05done much to this car at all after the
- 00:04:07past 50,000 miles I've put new air
- 00:04:10filters in my model 3 they were 30 bucks
- 00:04:12off Amazon from a company called basor
- 00:04:14they've held up great I'll leave a link
- 00:04:16down below if you're interested and I
- 00:04:17did that myself and listen I'm not very
- 00:04:20handy at all so if I can do it you
- 00:04:22definitely can do it I've also put air
- 00:04:24in the tires a few times I did it myself
- 00:04:26let's go and obviously air is free so
- 00:04:31just maintenance but no cost I've
- 00:04:33rotated my tires three times and I did
- 00:04:36not do that myself I had to pay for it I
- 00:04:38paid 40 bucks each time for a rotation
- 00:04:40and balance I don't know what balance
- 00:04:43means but I think it's good for the car
- 00:04:44whatever it's embarrassing but whatever
- 00:04:46so 40 bucks three times for a total of
- 00:04:49$120 Tesla recommends to rotate your
- 00:04:51tires every I think it's very specific
- 00:04:53it
- 00:04:546,250 mil so maybe I should have done it
- 00:04:57more over that span but I have tires
- 00:05:00still we'll get on that later but my
- 00:05:01tires are doing great I've roted them
- 00:05:03three times so far I've also spent money
- 00:05:05on windshield washer fluid even here in
- 00:05:08Vegas Yes we still use that very rarely
- 00:05:10but we had to buy some because we were
- 00:05:12on a road trip through Colorado and it
- 00:05:14was a snowstorm like crazy we were going
- 00:05:16through it like insane so we had to buy
- 00:05:19a gallon of windshield washer fluid dump
- 00:05:21it in there the car ate all of it cost
- 00:05:23us $8 and yeah I did it myself I also
- 00:05:28had this accident or Collision which
- 00:05:29I'll touch more on later so I guess
- 00:05:31technically that was maintenance but at
- 00:05:33no cost to me because obviously it was
- 00:05:35100% the other drivers's fault so there
- 00:05:37was that maintenance done but again at
- 00:05:39no cost to me so if my math is right the
- 00:05:42total maintenance costs including air
- 00:05:44filters rotating tires and windshield
- 00:05:47washer fluid is a total of
- 00:05:50$158 over 50,000 Mi and you may notice I
- 00:05:53did not include new tires and that's
- 00:05:55because these here are the original
- 00:05:58tires people say that Tesla tires tend
- 00:06:00to work quickly than other vehicles I
- 00:06:03don't know if that's true because at
- 00:06:0550,000 Mi at least for me and a model 3
- 00:06:07these are still going pretty strong now
- 00:06:09while I do enjoy my acceleration Boost
- 00:06:11from time to time I usually don't drive
- 00:06:14like a maniac so maybe that's help me
- 00:06:16maintain the life of these tires and
- 00:06:18last time I got them rotated I was told
- 00:06:20I still got a few thousand more miles in
- 00:06:22these so maybe a tire change might be
- 00:06:24coming up in the not so distant future
- 00:06:27but as of now after 50,000 miles we're
- 00:06:30still rocking the ogs so my maintenance
- 00:06:32cost like I said $158 which is super low
- 00:06:35but how much have I saved compared to
- 00:06:37the average car so I couldn't find exact
- 00:06:39stats of average maintenance cost for
- 00:06:4150,000 mi in an average gas car so I
- 00:06:44asked chat GPT and it told me the first
- 00:06:4650,000 mi in an average gas car includes
- 00:06:49these things maintenance wise and costs
- 00:06:52about 1,500 to $2,000 so how much have I
- 00:06:55saved roughly about $1,500 to $2,000
- 00:07:00now let's talk about insurance so
- 00:07:01disclaimer I do have Tesla insurance but
- 00:07:04I do not recommend it it is the cheapest
- 00:07:06by a good amount compared the quotes
- 00:07:08I've gotten from other places but if
- 00:07:10something happens and you need to get a
- 00:07:12hold of somebody they are just not there
- 00:07:15so Tesla Insurance monitors your driving
- 00:07:17habits and gives you what they call a
- 00:07:18safety score and your insurance premium
- 00:07:20is based off your safety score I think
- 00:07:23the average is about 90 don't quote me
- 00:07:25on that but my fiance and I are usually
- 00:07:27like mid to high 90s which I feel like
- 00:07:29it's not hard to do but I want to
- 00:07:30clarify that because our premium does go
- 00:07:33up or down a few dollars a month because
- 00:07:35our safety score does change a little
- 00:07:37bit from month-to month and also I do
- 00:07:39have pretty decent coverage I have quite
- 00:07:41a bit more than the bare minimum and I
- 00:07:43drive over 24,000 miles a year so that
- 00:07:46does make my premium a little bit higher
- 00:07:48than most people so with all that being
- 00:07:50said my total insurance cost this month
- 00:07:53is
- 00:07:54$14.72 and that's based off a safety
- 00:07:57score of 98 and like I said my safety
- 00:07:59score does go up or down a few dollars a
- 00:08:02month depending on how I drive but we
- 00:08:04can use this number to extrapolate some
- 00:08:06data shall we I asked chat GPT what is
- 00:08:09the average monthly car insurance
- 00:08:10payment for someone with decent coverage
- 00:08:12who drives more than 24,000 Mi a year
- 00:08:15after a blurb it gave me somewhere
- 00:08:17between $150 and $250 a month so we'll
- 00:08:20use 200 just to average it out so doing
- 00:08:22some quick math here 200 minus what I
- 00:08:24pay
- 00:08:26$14.72 equals
- 00:08:28$59.28 which is how much I'm saving on
- 00:08:31average about per month and if we use
- 00:08:33that number over the last 2 years that
- 00:08:36number times 24 months is about
- 00:08:39$1,422 72 in savings on car insurance
- 00:08:43and yes again even with that much
- 00:08:45savings I still wouldn't recommend Tesla
- 00:08:48Insurance our collision with our model 3
- 00:08:50that you guys saw that went okay but we
- 00:08:53got an accident in our model y back in
- 00:08:55February long story short it was again
- 00:08:58100% the other guy's fault he hit us
- 00:09:00clear on camera but he didn't have
- 00:09:02insurance so we had to pay our
- 00:09:04deductible and that was back in February
- 00:09:06and it is almost September we're still
- 00:09:08waiting to get our deductible back and I
- 00:09:11can't get a hold of anybody so that's
- 00:09:14Tesla insurance so let's wrap up the
- 00:09:16cost here and combine all of that for
- 00:09:18our total ownership cost over the last
- 00:09:2050,000 mil our model 3 so charging
- 00:09:23maintenance and insurance all combined
- 00:09:25total charging costs at home and
- 00:09:27supercharging cost us $2,000
- 00:09:30$787 our total maintenance cost was $158
- 00:09:33and our total insurance cost giv using
- 00:09:36our estimate over the last 2 years has
- 00:09:38been
- 00:09:40$3,377 128 which brings us to a total
- 00:09:43cost of $
- 00:09:466,322 128 sounds like a lot let's use
- 00:09:49those savings from earlier and see how
- 00:09:51much we saved using the same numbers as
- 00:09:53before how much money we saved on
- 00:09:55charging was
- 00:09:57$459 our money we saved on maintenance
- 00:10:00was about
- 00:10:02$1,592 and our insurance saved over the
- 00:10:05past 2 years was
- 00:10:07$1,422 72 which brings our total savings
- 00:10:11to an amount of
- 00:10:13$752 3.72 cents so take that with what
- 00:10:17you will but my take it's pretty
- 00:10:19expensive to drive other cars that
- 00:10:20aren't a Tesla let's go ahead now and
- 00:10:23talk about the durability starting with
- 00:10:25the exterior I'm going Vlog style so I
- 00:10:27can show you guys we don't have have any
- 00:10:29sort of ppf on this car and from 5T away
- 00:10:34and more it looks like a pretty good car
- 00:10:36like brand new Paints in really good
- 00:10:38shape but as you get closer you can see
- 00:10:41CA can pick it up yep some rock chips
- 00:10:43there a few small ones here this is the
- 00:10:46hood of the car by the way a small one
- 00:10:48there and a small one there but like I
- 00:10:50said as you zoom out you can't really
- 00:10:52notice they're pretty small but yeah as
- 00:10:55you get closer it does look like a car
- 00:10:57that's driven 50,000 MI mil I've also
- 00:11:00unfortunately acquired a rock chip a
- 00:11:02couple thousand miles back as well this
- 00:11:04little spot right here doesn't look too
- 00:11:06bad from the outside but let me bring
- 00:11:07you guys inside to show you guys so
- 00:11:09inside that's that same Rock Chip right
- 00:11:11there you can kind of see it I actually
- 00:11:13tried to repair it myself it went okay
- 00:11:15it's not getting any worse but I mean
- 00:11:17from the driver's point of view if you
- 00:11:19look for it down there you can still see
- 00:11:21it and honestly I'm okay with all that
- 00:11:23it's my daily driver I use it every day
- 00:11:25for work I know it's not going to look
- 00:11:27perfect I'm not worried about making it
- 00:11:28look perfect so with those Rock chips
- 00:11:30even a little crack on the windshield as
- 00:11:32long as it's not getting worse it's fine
- 00:11:34but I do have some durability stuff on
- 00:11:36the exterior that I'm not okay with so
- 00:11:37let me show you guys what I'm talking
- 00:11:39about so these are aftermarket wheel
- 00:11:41covers I love these but this right here
- 00:11:44that is Cur rash shout out my fiance
- 00:11:47JoJo it's just on this one wheel here it
- 00:11:50happens but it's there and like I said
- 00:11:52besides some of the rock chips in the
- 00:11:54front and the front hood the paint has
- 00:11:56been great even being in the Vegas Sun
- 00:11:58the past 2 years there's no peeling or
- 00:12:00something like that nothing crazy but I
- 00:12:02do have two scratches back here on the
- 00:12:05left side back seat door one there one
- 00:12:08there again shout out JoJo I'll let her
- 00:12:11explain how that one happened uh it
- 00:12:13happened because of Raider's crate I
- 00:12:15didn't mean it it was an accident I felt
- 00:12:17horrible about it reenact it show me how
- 00:12:19it happened I was caring like a 50 lb
- 00:12:22dog crate oh 50 lb and I was like oh
- 00:12:25oops oh kind of like that 50 lb the
- 00:12:29right back here in the
- 00:12:30corner that's 50 lb of metal right there
- 00:12:34and also the car was parked the other
- 00:12:36way so I bar have any space oh okay yeah
- 00:12:39okay you know that and this one's crazy
- 00:12:41but as I was washing this car for this
- 00:12:43video I noticed this back here on the
- 00:12:47right side right rear side I don't know
- 00:12:50what the heck happened that's a pretty
- 00:12:51deep scratch I hit something apparently
- 00:12:54but I don't remember hitting anything
- 00:12:56but something left a pretty good Mark in
- 00:12:58there so maybe it's time for some paint
- 00:13:00correction film and that's a good enough
- 00:13:01scratch that if you zoom out even past 5
- 00:13:04ft you can still see that one it's not
- 00:13:06in a too much of a visible spot so
- 00:13:08that's a good thing I guess but that's a
- 00:13:10gnarly one so that one kind of sucks but
- 00:13:12if you guys have any recommendations for
- 00:13:14some paint correction film I can throw
- 00:13:15on there to make it look not perfect but
- 00:13:18better than that please let me know now
- 00:13:20let's go to the interior and keep in
- 00:13:22mind we live here in Las Vegas it gets
- 00:13:24over 150° inside this car sometimes and
- 00:13:27I don't use cabin overheat protection
- 00:13:29because that would just kill my battery
- 00:13:31but I would say the leather and the
- 00:13:33interior has held up very very well
- 00:13:35there is some small creasing on the
- 00:13:37driver's side seat right here probably
- 00:13:40from me getting in and out of the car so
- 00:13:42much uh so a little bit of like
- 00:13:44indentation there but nothing too crazy
- 00:13:46but other than that there's not
- 00:13:48something like that anywhere in any
- 00:13:49other seat and I'll show you guys the
- 00:13:51back seats we don't ever use these we
- 00:13:53have dogs we put a cover on when we have
- 00:13:55the dogs in here so other than that
- 00:13:57they're never used and honestly
- 00:13:59they look and feel brand new besides
- 00:14:02some dog hair in the creases but other
- 00:14:04than that they've held up very very well
- 00:14:06just being baked in here for the past
- 00:14:08two years and I don't have formats I
- 00:14:10kind of wish I did because it's very
- 00:14:12hard to get golden retriever hair out
- 00:14:15like these are vacuum just the other
- 00:14:16week and look how this is the driver's
- 00:14:18side so keep that in mind but yeah it's
- 00:14:20very hard to get this hair out of this
- 00:14:22material on the carpet and this material
- 00:14:24on the felt one of my biggest complaints
- 00:14:26actually is how much this Tesla felt
- 00:14:29sticks hair to it some boxer here and
- 00:14:31golden retriever here are not friendly
- 00:14:34for the Tesla and I'll show you guys the
- 00:14:36trunk too but honestly one of my biggest
- 00:14:37complaints might be being picky here but
- 00:14:39that felt material for dogs I vacuumed
- 00:14:41this less than a week ago and you can
- 00:14:43see it looks like it's just so dirty
- 00:14:45it's just so hard to get this hair out
- 00:14:47of this material and so I don't feel too
- 00:14:49bad here's the passenger side I just
- 00:14:51cleaned this as well looks much cleaner
- 00:14:53than the driver's side not as much as
- 00:14:55like the dirt footprint stuff much less
- 00:14:56to use but again you can see the dog
- 00:14:58here just sticks to both the carpet and
- 00:15:00the felt material I was worried about
- 00:15:03this screen being here in Vegas with the
- 00:15:05car getting so hot of this overheating
- 00:15:06but it's been great no issues at all
- 00:15:08over the last two years I got a little
- 00:15:10crack down here you can see that's just
- 00:15:12the screen cover not the actual screen
- 00:15:15highly recommend a screen cover but yep
- 00:15:17even in the Heat this has held up very
- 00:15:19well no issues let's go ahead now and
- 00:15:22dive into the range so when I got this
- 00:15:23car brand new in 2022 a model 3 long
- 00:15:26range it came with 358 miles on a full
- 00:15:29charge my range now according to this
- 00:15:32third party estimate from an app called
- 00:15:34teslab it says that on a full charge I'd
- 00:15:36get 328 mil I'm not sure about the
- 00:15:39accuracy on that it's only four data
- 00:15:41points so I don't know the best way to
- 00:15:43get your range to actually do a battery
- 00:15:45health test in Tesla Service mode that
- 00:15:48drains your battery to 0% by doing the
- 00:15:51test takes a few hours I haven't done it
- 00:15:53but that's the most accurate way to get
- 00:15:54your range so anyways based on this
- 00:15:56hypothetical third party estimate I lost
- 00:15:58about 30 m of range over the last 50,000
- 00:16:02miles which may seem like a lot but keep
- 00:16:03in mind two things one heat does
- 00:16:06negatively impact range a little bit and
- 00:16:08I live here in Las Vegas which is one of
- 00:16:11the hottest places on Earth and two most
- 00:16:14battery degradation in Teslas in general
- 00:16:16happen in the first 20 25,000 miles and
- 00:16:20then from there the chart actually
- 00:16:21tapers off quite a bit and you can see
- 00:16:22that in this chart and it also shows
- 00:16:24that most Teslas still have over 90% of
- 00:16:27their range at2 200,00 miles 90% of my
- 00:16:30range would be 322 mil and if I have
- 00:16:33200,000 mi in my odometer and my full
- 00:16:36charge still reads 322 miles I would be
- 00:16:39very happy something else I want to
- 00:16:41touch on is the resale value of this car
- 00:16:44right now what would it be because Tesla
- 00:16:46depreciation has gotten a lot of
- 00:16:48headlines lately so this car brand new
- 00:16:51was
- 00:16:5254490 I got gray black interior free
- 00:16:55color free interior long range BAS
- 00:16:5954490 for this car right I did a tradein
- 00:17:02estimate through carvana and they
- 00:17:04offered me
- 00:17:06$199,400 which seems pretty low I don't
- 00:17:09know if that includes the accident that
- 00:17:11I was in when someone backed into me I
- 00:17:13counted it don't know if I should have
- 00:17:15but I did now I did a tradeing offer to
- 00:17:17Tesla as well and they offered me
- 00:17:19$22,900 which is a little more than
- 00:17:2319,000 but still compared to what I paid
- 00:17:25just over two years quite a bit of
- 00:17:27depreciation so yes depreciation is real
- 00:17:31but mainly because the price of Teslas
- 00:17:33over the last two years new Teslas have
- 00:17:35gone down quite a bit which is actually
- 00:17:38a great thing if you're in the market
- 00:17:39for new Tesla nowadays but me I bought
- 00:17:42in 2022 right before the peak of when
- 00:17:45all the used and new car prices were
- 00:17:47going up because of whatever reason so I
- 00:17:49didn't buy it at the greatest time but
- 00:17:51listen I bought it to drive it and enjoy
- 00:17:53it I didn't buy it to resell it later so
- 00:17:55I'm not too worried about that right now
- 00:17:57I'm going to drive this car until I
- 00:17:58can't drive it anymore at least that's
- 00:18:00the plan so resale value there it is but
- 00:18:04for me I I enjoy it I don't mind it I
- 00:18:07don't plan on selling it anytime soon
- 00:18:09but that can change I mean the model 3
- 00:18:10Performance is very very tempting the
- 00:18:12plan has always been to drive this car
- 00:18:14to the ground and then upgrade to a
- 00:18:16Model S one day because I love that car
- 00:18:18but the 3 Performance is very very
- 00:18:21tempting but we'll we'll see what
- 00:18:23happens I mean honestly I Love A
- 00:18:25Roadster but you know that's a little
- 00:18:27expensive but you know what if this
- 00:18:28video gets me a million subscribers I
- 00:18:31will buy a roadster so if you want to
- 00:18:32see a roadster on this channel make sure
- 00:18:34you subscribe down below and give me a
- 00:18:37few years now let's get into some
- 00:18:39personal ownership experience pros and
- 00:18:42cons what I think of the car over the
- 00:18:44last 50,000 miles and keep in mind I'm
- 00:18:46coming from a 2014 kiaforte so I know
- 00:18:50Teslas aren't considered a luxury car
- 00:18:53but for me coming from what I'm coming
- 00:18:55from about anything is an upgrade so
- 00:18:58firstly just claimer and kind of a con
- 00:19:00as well but not with the car just for me
- 00:19:02the high mileage so I drive like I said
- 00:19:04I had it for 2 years over 50,000 miles
- 00:19:07already and that's because like I said a
- 00:19:09couple cross country road trips couple
- 00:19:11weekend California trips but also for
- 00:19:12work I work in home health so I drive to
- 00:19:16my patients house multiple patients
- 00:19:18every day so I'm driving all over Vegas
- 00:19:20every day for work and I use this car
- 00:19:22for work every day so that's why I've
- 00:19:23racked up a ton of miles over the last 2
- 00:19:25years so that's that but another con is
- 00:19:28is the cabin noise but this is weird
- 00:19:30because it's very consistently
- 00:19:32inconsistent so it'll happen once in
- 00:19:36every honestly maybe 50 drives I'll get
- 00:19:39some noise rattling sounds like it's
- 00:19:41kind like in the dashboard behind the
- 00:19:43steering wheel I can't figure out
- 00:19:44exactly where but if it's happening
- 00:19:46while I'm at work by the time I park my
- 00:19:49car go work with my patient then come
- 00:19:51back it's gone like it fixes itself and
- 00:19:54then it'll happen again in like two or
- 00:19:55three weeks just on one drive then I
- 00:19:57park it for a little bit and then it's
- 00:19:58gone again and it's like I said it's
- 00:20:01consistently happening every two or 3
- 00:20:03weeks for one drive and then it's gone
- 00:20:05so I don't know how or what's happening
- 00:20:08but I get some rattling in the car but
- 00:20:10it's not happening often at all and
- 00:20:13other than that the car is very quiet
- 00:20:15both on the road with the road noise the
- 00:20:17wind noise shot out double pane windows
- 00:20:19on the sides here but besides the
- 00:20:21rattling the interior cabin noise is
- 00:20:24very quiet I like it another pro/con is
- 00:20:28Auto pilot FSD full self driving so I
- 00:20:31don't have full self driving here I had
- 00:20:33it when the free trial happened a few
- 00:20:35months ago and I had it when I first got
- 00:20:38the car for a few months I paid monthly
- 00:20:40I wasn't too impressed by it to be
- 00:20:42honest even recently it got better it's
- 00:20:44always getting better I understand I'm a
- 00:20:46Believer I really am I just don't
- 00:20:47believe in anytime super soon like a lot
- 00:20:49of people do but um so as far as full
- 00:20:52self driving goes I don't think it's
- 00:20:53worth the money I wasn't too impressed
- 00:20:55by it I wouldn't pay for it myself and I
- 00:20:56don't but I want to say
- 00:20:59autopilot especially on road trips it's
- 00:21:01a freaking Game Changer another Pro is a
- 00:21:04convenience and it's not just one thing
- 00:21:06about the Tesla but a lot of little
- 00:21:08things that add up that make this car
- 00:21:09just so easy to drive into own here's
- 00:21:12just a few of my favorites including
- 00:21:14Sentry mode that I can access my car
- 00:21:16cameras via the app anywhere anytime and
- 00:21:19it records things that come close to the
- 00:21:21car and it saved me on day one from this
- 00:21:24thing that you've seen already your
- 00:21:25phone is your key and I've never
- 00:21:27actually had to use my key card once you
- 00:21:29have all these music apps and streaming
- 00:21:31apps they're all integrated so once you
- 00:21:33log in once you can watch and listen
- 00:21:35whenever and by the way these are all
- 00:21:37features or most features that have been
- 00:21:38added via software updates since I've
- 00:21:41owned the car so that's another huge Pro
- 00:21:43of mine that the car continually gets
- 00:21:45updates gets new apps new things added
- 00:21:48to it makes things easier simpler and
- 00:21:51the car just gets better and better over
- 00:21:53time and the last Pro maybe one of the
- 00:21:55biggest honestly is the supercharger
- 00:21:57Network like I mentioned road trips
- 00:21:59already but it's so easy you pull up you
- 00:22:02plug in and that's literally it and
- 00:22:03that's how it should be there's no third
- 00:22:06party apps no downloading apps no making
- 00:22:08accounts something like that no swiping
- 00:22:10your credit card you pull up you plug in
- 00:22:12and it's charging and it works and it
- 00:22:14should work but again those thirdparty
- 00:22:16charging networks aren't known for their
- 00:22:19reliability whereas Tesla superchargers
- 00:22:22work pretty much all the time and
- 00:22:24they're fast honestly on our road trips
- 00:22:26in about 15 of 20 minutes of charging
- 00:22:28car is ready to go and drive for another
- 00:22:30hour and a half or two hours but
- 00:22:33obviously if you want to get from point
- 00:22:34A to point B as fast as possible a gas
- 00:22:37car filling up a gas car will always be
- 00:22:39quicker at least for now than charging
- 00:22:41an electric car but if you're a normal
- 00:22:43person who likes to grab dinner grab
- 00:22:45snacks use a bathroom on those long road
- 00:22:47trips you can do all that in about 15 or
- 00:22:5020 minutes and by the time that all
- 00:22:52happens your car is ready to go with you
- 00:22:54so it's not that much of an
- 00:22:55inconvenience honestly at all on our
- 00:22:58long road trips so this accident or
- 00:23:00Collision I've talked about a few times
- 00:23:02I want to show it cuz it's part of my
- 00:23:03experience and this happened like I said
- 00:23:05literally the morning after I got my car
- 00:23:08I bought my first brand new Tesla
- 00:23:10brought it home woke up the next morning
- 00:23:12with an alert on my phone that my alarm
- 00:23:14had activated I thought it was a glitch
- 00:23:16I don't know I just got the car I didn't
- 00:23:17know how to work everything but sure
- 00:23:20enough I came out there's a big dent in
- 00:23:21the side of my car from this dude
- 00:23:22backing into me and like I said no cost
- 00:23:25to me had to wait about 2 months to be
- 00:23:28able to to bring it into the shop and it
- 00:23:29took about 2 and 1/2 weeks if I can
- 00:23:32remember correctly to get it actually
- 00:23:33repaired but also do note this is back
- 00:23:35in 2022 when the weight to bring your
- 00:23:38car in for service was a lot longer than
- 00:23:40it is now when we got in our accident
- 00:23:42and our model y another guy hit us uh we
- 00:23:44were able to bring it in like the next
- 00:23:46week so back then in 2022 when this
- 00:23:48happened I had to wait 2 months to bring
- 00:23:49it in and over the past 50,000 miles
- 00:23:51I've done some pretty cool things in my
- 00:23:53car I'll show you just a few I have all
- 00:23:55them in a separate video all my
- 00:23:56accessories and upgrades but just a few
- 00:23:58big ones here you saw already the wheel
- 00:24:01covers these are from EV base and by the
- 00:24:03way I'll leave a link down below for all
- 00:24:04these here but I absolutely love these
- 00:24:07they change the look of the car
- 00:24:09completely they're super easy to put on
- 00:24:12huge fan of these wheel covers secondly
- 00:24:14I added this aftermarket spoiler this
- 00:24:17carbon fiber subtle finish it looks just
- 00:24:19like the performance trim spoiler this
- 00:24:22is not the performance it's a long range
- 00:24:24but I like the look of the spoiler so I
- 00:24:26added it to it it's just a very
- 00:24:28long strip of adhesive under here and
- 00:24:31I've had it for almost a year now and
- 00:24:33it's stuck really well and I can't show
- 00:24:35you guys this but I also have the
- 00:24:36acceleration boost on here I mentioned
- 00:24:38it I love it 0 to 60 from 4.2 to now 3.7
- 00:24:43even after 50,000 miles doesn't get old
- 00:24:47so not only is my car literally faster
- 00:24:49but it also feels faster because of this
- 00:24:51thing right here the steering yolk some
- 00:24:55people love it some people hate it I
- 00:24:57actually like it a lot I love the look
- 00:24:59of it it's not as convenient obviously
- 00:25:01as a wheel does take some getting used
- 00:25:03to but once you're used to it it's very
- 00:25:05easy to drive and I love the look of it
- 00:25:08and then lastly this carbon fiber cover
- 00:25:10for the dash under here is a piece of
- 00:25:13wood that went all the way around and
- 00:25:14then the doors I wasn't a big fan of it
- 00:25:17I think the carbon fiber gives it a much
- 00:25:18sportier look and just like the spoiler
- 00:25:21it is just a piece of adhesive under
- 00:25:22here you stick on top super easy to put
- 00:25:25in and the looks of it improve the car
- 00:25:27in my opinion and to wrap it up the
- 00:25:30biggest question of them all if I can go
- 00:25:32back in time to August of 2022 50,000 Mi
- 00:25:36earlier would I buy this car again
- 00:25:39absolutely I would it saved me so much
- 00:25:41money over the past few years I love the
- 00:25:44looks love the convenience I've always
- 00:25:45wanted a Tesla since I've seen it
- 00:25:47revealed in 2018 this model 3 I knew it
- 00:25:50was my dream car but I was in college
- 00:25:52and I was going to start grad school
- 00:25:53soon so I couldn't afford a new car and
- 00:25:56honestly the moment that I graduated
- 00:25:57grad school I used my first paycheck
- 00:25:59towards a down payment on this car here
- 00:26:01and if I can go back and do it again I
- 00:26:03would in a heartbeat this car has
- 00:26:05brought me so many great memories Sav me
- 00:26:07a lot of money and I just I love it and
- 00:26:11the plan like I said for now still is
- 00:26:13the plan is to drive this car to the
- 00:26:15ground and then when the time comes
- 00:26:17hopefully in four five six years
- 00:26:19whenever the model S may be refreshed
- 00:26:21again and get a new model S at that time
- 00:26:24but the current prices and interest
- 00:26:27rates coming down and the new model
- 00:26:28performance all that stuff it could
- 00:26:30change my mind it could change my mind
