What is the Crackie method?
The Crackie method is a non-circulating passive hydroponics technique where plants are grown in nutrient water without the need for electricity.
What types of plants can be grown hydroponically?
You can grow almost any plant hydroponically, including vegetables, herbs, and even trees, depending on the garden setup.
How do I prevent root rot?
Keep water temperatures below 85 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent root rot.
What nutrients do I need for hydroponics?
Choose a balanced nutrient solution that includes macronutrients (N-P-K) and micronutrients.
How often should I check pH levels?
Check pH levels weekly during early growth, twice a week during late vegetation, and daily during flowering.
What is the best way to measure nutrients?
Use an EC meter to measure electrical conductivity and TDS for total dissolved solids.
How can I prevent algae growth?
Prevent algae by cutting off light or water from surfaces where algae can thrive.
What should I do if my plants are not growing?
Check for root rot, ensure adequate light, and verify oxygen levels.
How can I improve my plant's growth?
Ensure proper lighting, nutrients, and water conditions for optimal growth.
What is the best way to store pH and EC meters?
Store meters in a glass of water with the tip submerged to prevent drying out.

- 00:00:00hello everyone and welcome to my
- 00:00:01Hydroponics master class I am so excited
- 00:00:04that you're here I am thrilled to be
- 00:00:06doing this video I've been putting it
- 00:00:07together for quite some time and uh I'm
- 00:00:09glad I've gotten all this together and
- 00:00:11in this huge at least an hourong video
- 00:00:15so make sure you have something to take
- 00:00:17notes some way of recording this
- 00:00:18information because once it gets rolling
- 00:00:20we really get rolling I've been
- 00:00:22gardening hydroponically for over 10
- 00:00:24years uh so I'm packing everything that
- 00:00:26I've learned over the past decade into
- 00:00:28this master class so you can avoid all
- 00:00:30the years of heartbreak the wasted money
- 00:00:33and even worse all that wasted time so
- 00:00:35this master class is going to FastTrack
- 00:00:37you to be a hydroponic aeroponic tower
- 00:00:40Gardener without the Steep learning
- 00:00:42curve let's talk about my first
- 00:00:44hydroponic garden and I think to do so
- 00:00:46we're gonna have to have a little bit of
- 00:00:47backstory so let's go back to Boulder
- 00:00:50Colorado circa
- 00:00:522014 where I just moved uh from
- 00:00:55Washington DC I was in kind of a not the
- 00:00:59best relation relationship and I was
- 00:01:01looking for a fresh start I was in my
- 00:01:02mid 20s I wanted to move somewhere to
- 00:01:04really just like start over and Boulder
- 00:01:07Colorado seemed like a great spot to do
- 00:01:09that so I moved into a one-bedroom by
- 00:01:11myself and really wanted to dive into my
- 00:01:14hobbies and just kind of start to find
- 00:01:16myself again so the hobby that I dove
- 00:01:18into
- 00:01:20was freshwater aquarium builds Bachelor
- 00:01:24Life
- 00:01:25wow so I really got into freshwater
- 00:01:28aquarium builds I I started growing my
- 00:01:29plants in the freshwater aquarium so
- 00:01:31like all of these aquariums you see here
- 00:01:34those were all living plants that I grew
- 00:01:36underwater and just um aquarium Pebbles
- 00:01:39so you can kind of see where it wasn't a
- 00:01:41huge leap when I wanted to start
- 00:01:43gardening but I couldn't because I lived
- 00:01:46in an apartment and it was like 20
- 00:01:49degrees outside and it was snowing in
- 00:01:50Boulder Colorado so instead I turned to
- 00:01:53my fish tanks and built an aquaponic
- 00:01:56eban flow Garden for this this is my
- 00:01:58very very first Hydro pic Garden I ever
- 00:02:00made um it really filled three needs I
- 00:02:03couldn't grow outside because the
- 00:02:05weather I didn't want to bring dirt and
- 00:02:06soil into my house because I have a cat
- 00:02:08who loves to dig in that stuff and I
- 00:02:11didn't have a lot of space so I needed
- 00:02:13something that could you know take up a
- 00:02:15lot less space so I started building
- 00:02:16this out I ended up adding to it and it
- 00:02:18became a whole thing and I really really
- 00:02:20enjoyed the process and I really enjoyed
- 00:02:22growing my my plants in this so fast
- 00:02:25forward a few years I met the woman in
- 00:02:27my dreams I got married had a kid and we
- 00:02:29moved to the central coast in California
- 00:02:32one of the big pools about moving to
- 00:02:35California was gardening so I really
- 00:02:37wanted to grow outside California is
- 00:02:39like the gardening State that's like
- 00:02:40where all the produce is grown so I was
- 00:02:42stoked about moving there to grow stuff
- 00:02:44these are my rows you see I even have my
- 00:02:46like little labels in there I was so
- 00:02:48excited about growing and then we got
- 00:02:50our first water
- 00:02:51bill and it was $300 and that was just
- 00:02:55for germination so I was thinking like
- 00:02:58if that was germination then flower ing
- 00:03:00would be like a $500 water bill so I
- 00:03:02knew that was not feasible um that was a
- 00:03:05real bummer when I realized I couldn't
- 00:03:06grow outside and I couldn't do my rows
- 00:03:08but instead I turned to Hydroponics and
- 00:03:11I turned our entire kitchen into a
- 00:03:13hydroponic garden and it was way better
- 00:03:15I loved it it cost us a lot less
- 00:03:17obviously and I got to go into the
- 00:03:19kitchen and see this beautiful you know
- 00:03:21cucumbers and peppers and everything
- 00:03:23growing right there and no bugs were
- 00:03:25getting at it it was totally clean and
- 00:03:27it was just really really satisfying at
- 00:03:28this point I knew
- 00:03:30I was going to go all in um I was even
- 00:03:32looking into going to school for
- 00:03:34Hydroponics um but I was looking for
- 00:03:36that opportunity to really go all in and
- 00:03:38when we moved back to Colorado into the
- 00:03:40mountains and parked up our our 20 foot
- 00:03:43travel trailer I think that opportunity
- 00:03:45was like literally right at my doorstep
- 00:03:47so I gutted I turned the whole thing
- 00:03:51crazy vertical Farm I had Tower Gardens
- 00:03:54in like every corner there was tower
- 00:03:56garden in the bathroom there was a tower
- 00:03:57garden in the closet and the back corner
- 00:04:00there were two there was a fog ponic
- 00:04:02tower garden I had five fog ponic
- 00:04:04Gardens this fog ponic deep water
- 00:04:05culture garden and I really really had a
- 00:04:09great time building it out they were it
- 00:04:11was somewhere I spent a lot of time but
- 00:04:13like I said it was in Colorado in the
- 00:04:15winter and all of this was maintained
- 00:04:17with an electric heater I think maybe
- 00:04:19you can see where I'm going with this uh
- 00:04:21so over one weekend it got down to like
- 00:04:25negative2 and the heater was on way too
- 00:04:28much and ended up melting and short
- 00:04:30circuiting pop the breaker and the RV
- 00:04:33everything shut off so I came out the
- 00:04:35next morning and it was all
- 00:04:38Frozen I was devastated guys it was
- 00:04:41almost the end of Hydroponics for me of
- 00:04:44gardening and just I
- 00:04:45was I know you guys have have killed
- 00:04:48plants before I'm sure we all have we've
- 00:04:51all killed plenty of plants but but at
- 00:04:53this point I just killed 135 plants at
- 00:04:56the same time I have no footage of it
- 00:04:58because I was distraught I just turned
- 00:05:00around I went inside I took my
- 00:05:02cauliflower with me I remember I saw
- 00:05:04them all Frozen I grabbed the
- 00:05:06cauliflower head that was almost ready
- 00:05:07and I brought into my wife Frozen and
- 00:05:09put it on the table and it just sounded
- 00:05:11like you know Frozen cauliflower hitting
- 00:05:13the table and she just looked at me and
- 00:05:15knew that I was just done and at that
- 00:05:18point I had a decision to make and um
- 00:05:22instead of give Throwing It All Away I
- 00:05:24decided to do the exact opposite I
- 00:05:25started humble growth Hydroponics I
- 00:05:28started everything I'm doing now I
- 00:05:29started deciding to educate people more
- 00:05:32because even though that happened to me
- 00:05:34I still knew without a shadow of a doubt
- 00:05:37that I stand behind Hydroponics and I
- 00:05:39know that it's the best way to grow
- 00:05:41anything I mean it uses 90 to 95% less
- 00:05:43water 16 to 118th the land space
- 00:05:46required I'll get into that up to three
- 00:05:49times faster growth rate far less
- 00:05:51maintenance once you get it up and
- 00:05:52running I mean crackie Gardens which
- 00:05:53we'll talk about in just a minute they
- 00:05:55don't use any maintenance at all they
- 00:05:57have far more control over your plants
- 00:05:58and your finished product is going to
- 00:06:00contain more nutrition than your typical
- 00:06:02backyard garden which I think is pretty
- 00:06:04cool so for me it's still a no-brainer I
- 00:06:06mean I'm talking about feeding my family
- 00:06:08I'm talking about doing an indoor garden
- 00:06:10when you're doing those things
- 00:06:11Hydroponics is just the way to go you
- 00:06:13really can't beat it I mean that's why
- 00:06:15you're here right it's because you want
- 00:06:17to learn more and do Hydroponics more
- 00:06:18for yourself so why should you watch
- 00:06:21this okay I'm I have a feeling you're
- 00:06:24the kind of person who's getting into
- 00:06:25Hydroponics you want to start building
- 00:06:26your own Gardens and really doing this
- 00:06:27you probably live somewhere where it's
- 00:06:30getting colder and you need to move
- 00:06:31stuff inside so if you want to do that
- 00:06:33I'm going to save you time and money
- 00:06:35with this because I'm going to teach you
- 00:06:36how to master your garden now if you
- 00:06:38know how to master your garden you're
- 00:06:39gonna have better Harvest right well
- 00:06:42there you go I'm also going to teach you
- 00:06:44tips tricks and hacks that I've learned
- 00:06:47over the past 10 years and then at the
- 00:06:49end of the video I'm going to go over a
- 00:06:51Q&A where I answer questions that you
- 00:06:53guys have sent me in emails and I also
- 00:06:56have some really amazing special
- 00:06:58exclusive offers just for you guys
- 00:07:00this master class right now is going to
- 00:07:01teach you everything that you need to
- 00:07:03know to be a hydroponic Gardener the
- 00:07:05school of Hydroponics teaches you
- 00:07:08everything you need to know to start to
- 00:07:10maintain to build to light to manage
- 00:07:14your entire indoor garden this class is
- 00:07:16gonna is going to cover the biggest
- 00:07:18hurdle which is becoming a formidable
- 00:07:20hydroponic Gardener so let's get right
- 00:07:22into the crackie method meet Dr Bernard
- 00:07:25kakie he uh came up with non-circulating
- 00:07:28passive Hydroponics back in the late 90s
- 00:07:32he took a swimming pool filled it with
- 00:07:34nutrient water and then floated a
- 00:07:35ceramic not a ceramic floated a
- 00:07:37styrofoam disc filled with lettuce uh
- 00:07:39basically checked back a month later and
- 00:07:41said it was Gourmet uh quality lettuce
- 00:07:45and started writing papers about
- 00:07:47non-passive circulating Hydroponics
- 00:07:49which means let's go over that real
- 00:07:51quick
- 00:07:52non-passive that means that I'm non-
- 00:07:55passive what am I saying non-circulating
- 00:07:57passive Hydroponics so non-circulating
- 00:08:00means the water's not moving so there's
- 00:08:03no air pumps there's no air Stones
- 00:08:04nothing's plugged in this this Garden
- 00:08:07doesn't require electricity or anything
- 00:08:09once it's set up completely passive
- 00:08:11that's the second part passive
- 00:08:13Hydroponics
- 00:08:15so once you get these Gardens set up
- 00:08:18it's a set it and forget it it's a
- 00:08:19really really cool Garden in that way
- 00:08:21and that's why they're becoming so
- 00:08:22popular uh there's a few things to know
- 00:08:24about the principles of setting one of
- 00:08:26these Gardens up though now the
- 00:08:28principles are you take a vat of
- 00:08:30nutrient water you put your plant in top
- 00:08:33the nutrient water becomes absorbed or
- 00:08:35evaporates at the same rate that the
- 00:08:37plant is growing by the time the plant
- 00:08:39is matured the water is in the lower
- 00:08:42third and you have a lot of air there
- 00:08:44for the roots to absorb then your roots
- 00:08:46are Harvest or I'm sorry then your plant
- 00:08:47is harvested and you start all over
- 00:08:49again great technique you can set it and
- 00:08:52forget it you can set up a five gallon
- 00:08:53jug Dr kakie has um trash cans that he's
- 00:08:57filled and done cucumbers out of and
- 00:08:59once you can manage to wrap your mind
- 00:09:01around the principles and the science of
- 00:09:03the crackie method it really is a very
- 00:09:04cool way of growing things but there are
- 00:09:06some areas where people do get it wrong
- 00:09:08and I want to help you guys to avoid
- 00:09:10those spots so the wrong siiz container
- 00:09:12is a big is a big uh a big spot where
- 00:09:15people mess up I did when I was first
- 00:09:17starting off it's it's a steep learning
- 00:09:18curve with that because your plant will
- 00:09:20kind of just stop growing um if you're
- 00:09:22growing something that's fast growing
- 00:09:25then you can have a smaller container
- 00:09:26you're growing something that's going to
- 00:09:28take a lot longer and go through like a
- 00:09:29flowering stage then you're going to
- 00:09:31want a larger container so if you're
- 00:09:34let's think about it like this if you're
- 00:09:35going to eat the leaves of it you can
- 00:09:37stick with something smaller up to a
- 00:09:39five gallon bucket if you're going to
- 00:09:41eat the fruit off of it then you're
- 00:09:43going to want to go larger like a trash
- 00:09:46can okay not checking your pH just
- 00:09:48because it's passive doesn't mean you
- 00:09:50you don't have to check your pH at all
- 00:09:52there are many things that can throw
- 00:09:53your pH off and once that gets thrown
- 00:09:56off bad things start to happen we're
- 00:09:58going to go over that here shortly when
- 00:09:59we talk about pH um this is really just
- 00:10:01kind of the problems uh I'm going to
- 00:10:04give you the solutions throughout the
- 00:10:05entire course here actually so this
- 00:10:07these are problems that happen with
- 00:10:08pretty much every hydroponic garden so
- 00:10:10uh didn't really think about that
- 00:10:13but uh one thing you can do also with
- 00:10:15your crackie Gardens is ADD hydrogen
- 00:10:17peroxide and do this from the very start
- 00:10:19if you don't add it initially then for
- 00:10:21the first week or two your plants might
- 00:10:23not have enough oxygen to really get
- 00:10:25going at this point the water is going
- 00:10:27to be almost to the very top you really
- 00:10:28just want to leave a small space of air
- 00:10:31between the top of the water and the net
- 00:10:34pot uh for the roots when they're young
- 00:10:36but you also want to make sure that
- 00:10:38they're going to get wet enough so you
- 00:10:39don't want your roots to dry out so
- 00:10:41that's a fine balance but if you add
- 00:10:42hydrogen peroxide that puts air into the
- 00:10:45water we're going to have a whole
- 00:10:46section on hyd hydrogen peroxide
- 00:10:48momentarily but what that does is it
- 00:10:49puts air into the water so that even the
- 00:10:51roots that are in the water are getting
- 00:10:53significantly more air and are better
- 00:10:55off for it so algae and root rot we're
- 00:10:57going to touch on those here in just a
- 00:10:58little bit let's get into the next type
- 00:11:00of garden deep water cultures it might
- 00:11:03seem as though a deep water culture is
- 00:11:06just a cracky garden with an air pump
- 00:11:08and an AirStone but once once we step
- 00:11:11away from cracky Gardens we're actually
- 00:11:13stepping away from the cracky method and
- 00:11:16that's an entire method for how we
- 00:11:18Garden which is passive which means we
- 00:11:20don't do much just check our pH right
- 00:11:22once we step away from passive gardening
- 00:11:24then we're going to be moving into a
- 00:11:26world of active gardening so just
- 00:11:28because add an AirStone that's not the
- 00:11:31only difference between a dwc and a
- 00:11:33crackie dwc's aren't passive hydroponic
- 00:11:35so we need to implement active
- 00:11:37hydroponic methods for gardening this
- 00:11:40means for every Garden moving forward
- 00:11:43we're GNA have to implement top offs so
- 00:11:45we need to make sure that we're now
- 00:11:47maintaining a water line and we're
- 00:11:49mixing our nutrients putting them in
- 00:11:51there checking the ph and making sure
- 00:11:53that's set to an appropriate water line
- 00:11:55we're no longer going to let the water
- 00:11:56evaporate and concentrate so deep water
- 00:11:59cultures add air to the water through
- 00:12:02the AirStone so that's how the the
- 00:12:05plants root is getting is getting uh air
- 00:12:07even though it's completely submerged in
- 00:12:09water the whole time also the AirStone
- 00:12:12is mixing the nutrients all around so
- 00:12:14there's no nutrient concentration we're
- 00:12:16going to be maintaining our nutrients
- 00:12:17through the entire grow it's up to you
- 00:12:19as the gardener now to maintain your
- 00:12:21nutrients let's move on to my
- 00:12:25favorite aeroponics aeroponic Gardens uh
- 00:12:29I had to put this in here this is the
- 00:12:30def the dictionary definition for
- 00:12:34aeroponics I know it might be a little
- 00:12:35pedantic but I really wanted to teach
- 00:12:37you guys properly here so aeroponics by
- 00:12:40dictionary definition are a plant
- 00:12:43cultivation technique in which the roots
- 00:12:45hang are suspended in air while nutrient
- 00:12:47solution is delivered to them in the
- 00:12:49form of a fine
- 00:12:52Mist so getting into the first type of
- 00:12:55aeroponic garden it might not even seem
- 00:12:57that aeroponic at all because it's not a
- 00:12:59fine Mist in fact it's low pressure
- 00:13:02aeroponics this is one that I built a
- 00:13:04few years back just using PVC pipe and
- 00:13:06sprinkler heads and low pressure
- 00:13:09aeroponics you see the root suspended in
- 00:13:11air and these sprinkler heads are
- 00:13:13delivering smaller drops of water to the
- 00:13:15roots but there's no lie in saying that
- 00:13:18these are going to get soaking wet I
- 00:13:19mean the roots don't see more air Than
- 00:13:22Water by any means once they get soaking
- 00:13:24wet they're soaking wet so low pressure
- 00:13:26is actually built up within the pipes
- 00:13:28and that's Det determined by the power
- 00:13:29of the pump and the diameter of the
- 00:13:32spray holes hybrid aeroponics or Tower
- 00:13:35Gardens now they call themselves
- 00:13:37aeroponics because they suspend the
- 00:13:40roots in air but they really use a
- 00:13:43hydroponic drip method to deliver the
- 00:13:45water so this would be no more aeroponic
- 00:13:48than the hydroponic drip method is so I
- 00:13:50just call it a hydro a hybrid aeroponic
- 00:13:53garden and and call it a day the way
- 00:13:57they work is
- 00:13:59um the whole Center is hollowed out and
- 00:14:02all the roots are going to be suspended
- 00:14:03in these net cups in the side and this
- 00:14:05one in particular is going to contain 20
- 00:14:07different plants and there's 20 gallons
- 00:14:09of water on the bottom there the
- 00:14:11nutrient water is lifted through a pump
- 00:14:13to the top and then these plates have
- 00:14:15tiny little holes in them that allow the
- 00:14:17water to just rain down through and soak
- 00:14:20the roots so this is only on for like 15
- 00:14:22minutes out of the hour so the other 45
- 00:14:25minutes it's off and the roots are just
- 00:14:27in a humid
- 00:14:29so in that way they are uh receiving a
- 00:14:32lot of the benefits of aeroponics it's
- 00:14:34just the delivery of the actual water
- 00:14:36and the nutrients themselves leave a
- 00:14:38little bit to be desired for somebody
- 00:14:39who might be into high pressure
- 00:14:40aeroponics still though I love Tower
- 00:14:43Gardens for a lot of reasons I mean when
- 00:14:46you talk about being able to get the
- 00:14:47most plants in the smallest amount of
- 00:14:50space Tower Gardens are what are
- 00:14:51responsible for that one out of 18 um
- 00:14:55ratio that I came up with for how much
- 00:14:57land is required for Hydroponics because
- 00:14:59these grow 20 plants in the same area of
- 00:15:02about two so that's pretty astonishing
- 00:15:05for me you can also grow just about
- 00:15:07anything in a tower garden but we're
- 00:15:08going to get to that here in just a few
- 00:15:10minutes now let's talk about fog ponics
- 00:15:14so fog ponics that's been an interesting
- 00:15:16Journey for me I've done a lot of fog
- 00:15:17ponic Gardens trying to master fog
- 00:15:19ponics and I want to sum it all up into
- 00:15:21what I learned so that if you guys want
- 00:15:23to start fog ponics it's really cheap
- 00:15:25it's really easy it's only about 20
- 00:15:26bucks to start a fog ponic Garden you
- 00:15:28can do it but you'll know the
- 00:15:29limitations and you'll know uh exactly
- 00:15:32how you want to do it so let me go over
- 00:15:33fog ponic because it is kind of like
- 00:15:35High Press aeroponics very strange
- 00:15:37little brother there are three huge
- 00:15:40reasons why fog ponics is not like high
- 00:15:43pressure aeroponics let me get into
- 00:15:45those right now so number one the
- 00:15:47droplet size uh fog ponics uses a
- 00:15:50ceramic ultrasonic fogger so what this
- 00:15:53does is it vibrates at an ultrasonic
- 00:15:55frequency and the water on top then
- 00:15:57separates molecular and when it
- 00:15:59separates it becomes vapor and that
- 00:16:02Vapor goes wherever you send it frankly
- 00:16:05um the problem is is the droplet size of
- 00:16:07that vapor is only three to five microns
- 00:16:09that's one tenth of the amount of
- 00:16:12basically one tenth of the amount of
- 00:16:13water in the air as you're receiving
- 00:16:15with high pressure aeroponics that would
- 00:16:17be okay if we could run these for longer
- 00:16:20to allow the roots to get more wet over
- 00:16:23a period of time but there are issues
- 00:16:25there one being that there's not that
- 00:16:26much oxygen within the fog itself self a
- 00:16:29lot of the fog takes up the space for
- 00:16:32the oxygen so you can have your roots in
- 00:16:34the fog but they're going to see um some
- 00:16:37growth issues because they're not
- 00:16:38getting enough oxygen the other issue is
- 00:16:41that the ultrasonic fogger heats up so
- 00:16:43if you try to leave it in the water and
- 00:16:45just let it run so that they get wet
- 00:16:46enough it's going to heat up too much in
- 00:16:48the water and that causes huge issues
- 00:16:50which we're going to get into in just a
- 00:16:51minute here the other issue is metal in
- 00:16:54the fogger eventually erods and you
- 00:16:56don't want to eat that uh I don't know
- 00:16:58exactly what's in it but I know that
- 00:17:00it's heavy metals and they will start to
- 00:17:01erode and you can start to see them
- 00:17:03break down and the actual fogger will
- 00:17:06literally erode so we don't want that so
- 00:17:08what I realized with FX ponic is because
- 00:17:10of these limitations but because of the
- 00:17:13capabilities and how inexpensive it is
- 00:17:16it's perfect for uh cloning and for
- 00:17:19early growth so doing a smaller Garden
- 00:17:22where you uh maybe do like a deep water
- 00:17:24culture on the bottom and allow about a
- 00:17:27foot Gap and then fill that area with
- 00:17:30fog that's perfect for cloning that's
- 00:17:32perfect for smaller plants you could
- 00:17:34even let them grow through the fog to
- 00:17:35get more aeroponic roots and then grow
- 00:17:37down into the deep water cultures area
- 00:17:40uh there's a lot of really cool stuff
- 00:17:41you can do with fog ponic Gardens which
- 00:17:43takes me to what Garden is right for you
- 00:17:46so there's a lot of different Gardens
- 00:17:47you can choose from cracky deep water
- 00:17:49culture Tower Gardens low pressure
- 00:17:50aeroponic high pressure aeroponic fog
- 00:17:52ponic some notable mentions with the
- 00:17:54wick system eban flow drip and the
- 00:17:57nutrient film technique
- 00:17:59each one of these Gardens uh is really
- 00:18:01good for a specific thing so mastering
- 00:18:04each one of these Gardens with different
- 00:18:06plants that you're trying to go to grow
- 00:18:09is really crucial when you're trying to
- 00:18:10decide which Garden to grow in like I
- 00:18:13was saying craies are great for plants
- 00:18:14that grow faster you can get them in and
- 00:18:16out faster they're also passive so
- 00:18:18that's really nice if you just want to
- 00:18:19have a whole garden that you don't
- 00:18:20really have to worry about too much deep
- 00:18:22water culture is more if you want to
- 00:18:24optimize something if you want to grow I
- 00:18:26like to grow one big plant out of a deep
- 00:18:28water culture five gallon bucket um and
- 00:18:30I'll set up multiple five gallons off of
- 00:18:33one or just a couple air pumps you can
- 00:18:35really get a lot out of a deep water
- 00:18:37culture if you want to grow bushes if
- 00:18:38you want to grow larger plants Tomatoes
- 00:18:40I've noticed the best results out of
- 00:18:42deep water cultures Tower Gardens are my
- 00:18:44personal favorite you can grow so much
- 00:18:46out of a tower garden uh and then
- 00:18:48monocropping in Tower Gardens is really
- 00:18:50fun growing all Tomatoes All
- 00:18:52strawberries just filling it with your
- 00:18:54favorite produce and always having it
- 00:18:57because once Tower Gardens get going
- 00:18:59really get going they're also really
- 00:19:00easy to maintain and if you buy the
- 00:19:03manufactured Tower Gardens whether you
- 00:19:04buy it or build it however you want to
- 00:19:05do it um give yourself a nice decent
- 00:19:08sized nutrient Reservoir so you don't
- 00:19:10have to maintain it quite so much now
- 00:19:12low press aeroponics and high press
- 00:19:14aeroponics and even fog ponics for that
- 00:19:16matter those are Gardens that you can't
- 00:19:19buy um from stores really you have to
- 00:19:22build those type of Gardens and they
- 00:19:24require a little more engineering a
- 00:19:25little more of a DIY presence so if you
- 00:19:28are the kind kind a person who enjoys
- 00:19:29building really optimized Gardens and
- 00:19:32seeing how far you can take things and
- 00:19:34and and tinkering and getting into that
- 00:19:35then you're going to really love low
- 00:19:37pressure and high pressure and fog
- 00:19:38ponics for that matter so those Gardens
- 00:19:40are going to be more for someone who's
- 00:19:41trying to like build out a whole uh
- 00:19:44indoor hydroponic garden and wants to
- 00:19:46build a lot of the gardens
- 00:19:48yourself all right so let's talk about
- 00:19:50nutrients guys I don't want you to over
- 00:19:53complicate your nutrients um they don't
- 00:19:55need to be more complicated than what
- 00:19:57I'm about to explain to you right here
- 00:19:58pick whatever nutrients you want we're
- 00:20:01going to get into what you need to know
- 00:20:03when looking at them and how to measure
- 00:20:05them so when looking at them let's talk
- 00:20:08about the
- 00:20:09mpk these are the three numbers at the
- 00:20:11bottom of all your nutrients so that 054
- 00:20:14501 216 what that represents is the
- 00:20:17nitrogen the phosphorus and potassium I
- 00:20:20think I just said that backwards
- 00:20:21nitrogen potassium and phosphorus so
- 00:20:24like the pink one there would represent
- 00:20:260% nitrogen 5% phosphor us and 4%
- 00:20:29pottassium and so on and this helps give
- 00:20:33us an understanding of how many M
- 00:20:35macronutrients are in our uh nutrients
- 00:20:38that we buy premixed now micronutrients
- 00:20:41the middle bottle there that purple one
- 00:20:43those are your micronutrients so that
- 00:20:45contains all the micros you're going to
- 00:20:46need this is why I don't want to over
- 00:20:48complicate things and start shoving all
- 00:20:49these different things into your head
- 00:20:51because just buy a three-part two-part
- 00:20:54four-part nutrient solution and start
- 00:20:57using it and mixing it they have
- 00:20:59everything that you're going to need I
- 00:21:00don't want people to overthink all the
- 00:21:02nutrient stuff it's not that big of a
- 00:21:04deal so just pick one and start using it
- 00:21:06and you'll see that it's not usually
- 00:21:09your nutrients that are going to cause
- 00:21:10issues it's actually usually uh
- 00:21:12something else and we'll get into all
- 00:21:14that kind of stuff too so what about
- 00:21:15calcium magnesium so if you strip your
- 00:21:18water if you use completely uh filtered
- 00:21:21water that has no nutrients nothing in
- 00:21:23it um then you're going to want to add
- 00:21:25calcium magnesium just a small amount
- 00:21:27okay so like I said before though please
- 00:21:30don't over complicate your nutrients
- 00:21:32just pick some up from the store you can
- 00:21:33use the ones that I recommend I've been
- 00:21:35using the General Hydroponics Flora
- 00:21:37series for years and they work just fine
- 00:21:40don't over complicate things don't
- 00:21:42overthink it um I just want to get you
- 00:21:44guys growing and I want to get you guys
- 00:21:46where you need to be and like I said
- 00:21:48nutrients usually aren't the problem
- 00:21:50measuring your nutrients can be a
- 00:21:52problem
- 00:21:53so so let's talk about EC and TDS these
- 00:21:57are the two ways that you measure your
- 00:21:59nutrients now never just read the bottle
- 00:22:01and go with what it says on the bottle
- 00:22:03that's super amateur stuff like you're
- 00:22:06going to have huge issues if you just
- 00:22:07look at the bottle and just try to judge
- 00:22:10and and add the ratios they say on there
- 00:22:12you need to measure your nutrients I'll
- 00:22:13get into what you Ed to measure it in
- 00:22:15like five seconds here but let me tell
- 00:22:16you first how to measure it so EC versus
- 00:22:19TDS this stands for electrical
- 00:22:21conductivity and total dissolve solids
- 00:22:24so EC measures the electrical
- 00:22:25conductivity in the water which
- 00:22:27basically tells you the um
- 00:22:29Integrity of your nutrient solution by
- 00:22:31measuring the ion charg between each
- 00:22:34nutrient salt so the better your salts
- 00:22:36the the better the charge is going to be
- 00:22:38so this tells you way more about exactly
- 00:22:42what's in your water than TDS which is
- 00:22:43just total dissolve solids that's
- 00:22:45measured in parts per million and this
- 00:22:46kind of just tells you how many
- 00:22:48particles are in your water how dirty it
- 00:22:50is it's not going to tell you anything
- 00:22:51about the particles though so I prefer
- 00:22:54to use EC but when you get your meter it
- 00:22:56looks like this and they always measure
- 00:22:58both so when I turn mine on it always
- 00:23:00measures TDS first so I can kind of
- 00:23:03always see what my TDS or my parts per
- 00:23:05million is and then I hit mode and it
- 00:23:06switches over to EC so I use them both
- 00:23:09but I take EC a bit more seriously when
- 00:23:11considering my top offs all right let's
- 00:23:14talk about pH now potential for hydrogen
- 00:23:17so pH is measured on a scale from 1 to
- 00:23:1914 from acidic to very alkaline and
- 00:23:21neutral being seven right in the middle
- 00:23:24but with hydroponic Gardens the neutral
- 00:23:27is actually six
- 00:23:29so when you look up what PH your plant's
- 00:23:32going to need make sure you type in for
- 00:23:33a hydroponic garden if you don't then
- 00:23:35you're going to get for soil which is
- 00:23:38actually going to be seven not six um
- 00:23:41this is just a generalization you but
- 00:23:44six is kind of a safe pH for like 90% of
- 00:23:46hydroponic plants and seven is a safe pH
- 00:23:48for like 90% of soil plants there are
- 00:23:50plants that are going to go on either
- 00:23:51side so make sure you know what it
- 00:23:54really comes down to though is the
- 00:23:55nutrients ability to be absorbed at Surf
- 00:23:58certain pH levels so if you look at this
- 00:24:00chart right here for example iron once
- 00:24:02you go above 5.5 it has less
- 00:24:05availability for the plant so really
- 00:24:06what it comes down to is the plants
- 00:24:09required pH is completely determined by
- 00:24:13the nutrient need and the availability
- 00:24:15of those nutrient at certain pH levels
- 00:24:19got
- 00:24:20it so to measure our pH we're not going
- 00:24:23to use strips anymore we're not going to
- 00:24:24use any of the dyes or anything like
- 00:24:26that uh if you're a hydroponic you
- 00:24:28really just need to get a digital pH
- 00:24:30meter we're going to be measuring our pH
- 00:24:32so often that it becomes just wasteful
- 00:24:34and annoying using analog PH meters so
- 00:24:37how often should we check our pH and our
- 00:24:39nutrients really depends on what stage
- 00:24:41of growth you're in uh early growth I
- 00:24:43would do once a week when it's young uh
- 00:24:46and then as things get bigger late
- 00:24:47vegetation I would do twice a week and
- 00:24:49then flowering I personally check every
- 00:24:52day and do maintenance but if you can't
- 00:24:53do that every other day it's probably
- 00:24:55okay so now let's get into some real
- 00:24:57maintenance let's talk root rot this is
- 00:24:59a big one root rot
- 00:25:01is probably the number one killer that
- 00:25:03I've seen for hydroponic plants and the
- 00:25:06funny thing is is there's only one thing
- 00:25:08that you need to do to prevent root rot
- 00:25:10that's it just one thing because root
- 00:25:12rot really is a blanket term
- 00:25:15for any type of fungus or bacteria that
- 00:25:18can Thrive and grow on your roots but
- 00:25:21thing to know is that these types of
- 00:25:23fungus and bacteria can only live uh in
- 00:25:27water that is above 85 degrees so all we
- 00:25:30have to do is keep our water temperature
- 00:25:32below 85 degrees and we're preventing
- 00:25:34root rot there are other things we can
- 00:25:36do if our water temperature is kind of
- 00:25:38creeping up towards that level or if we
- 00:25:40just want to keep a really clean garden
- 00:25:42and uh and we see maybe a little bit of
- 00:25:43signs of root rot can lower our
- 00:25:45temperature and then to turn things
- 00:25:46around we can just add a little bit of
- 00:25:48hydrogen peroxide so H2O2 is a hydro
- 00:25:52Gardener's best friend it's my most used
- 00:25:54tool um I'm going to get into how much
- 00:25:56to add and when to add it but the
- 00:25:58chemical breakdown is like hydrogen two
- 00:26:00parts hydrogen two parts oxygen which is
- 00:26:03one more part oxygen than water so
- 00:26:06you're always going to get bubbles those
- 00:26:08bubbles are great for cleaning those
- 00:26:09bubbles are great for adding oxygen to
- 00:26:11your water and they break off bits of
- 00:26:14root Rod so hydrogen peroxide is really
- 00:26:16really great to add to your garden um
- 00:26:18make sure we're doing food grade 3%
- 00:26:20hydrogen peroxide the brown bottle stuff
- 00:26:22that you get from the store has
- 00:26:24additives that are not food grade
- 00:26:25they're not food safe so we don't want
- 00:26:26to put those in our garden we really
- 00:26:28don't know what they'll do to our garden
- 00:26:29so get that food safe stuff 3% and add
- 00:26:3315
- 00:26:34milliliters per gallon every four to six
- 00:26:37days trust me this is your best
- 00:26:40maintenance practice now let's talk
- 00:26:42about algae gross I don't like algae
- 00:26:46algae is terrible for young plants I'll
- 00:26:48get into that in just a second but uh
- 00:26:51similar thing with algae as root rot
- 00:26:52there are only two things you really
- 00:26:54need to know to completely prevent algae
- 00:26:57and that is that algae needs Light and
- 00:27:00Water if you can cut off one of those
- 00:27:02two things then algae won't Thrive so
- 00:27:04algae only lives on constantly wet
- 00:27:07well-lit surfaces so if we can either
- 00:27:09cut the water off or we can cut the
- 00:27:11light off from that surface then we're
- 00:27:12not going to get algae and what Algae
- 00:27:14does is it's it's hungry it starves your
- 00:27:16plant of nutrients um that's why it's
- 00:27:18particularly bad for early growth you
- 00:27:20might see on your garden your tower
- 00:27:21garden in particular where all your
- 00:27:23plants are doing well but you will have
- 00:27:25like this one plant that's just sitting
- 00:27:26in like this goo of algae and the AL is
- 00:27:28just stealing the nutrients from the
- 00:27:29plant before it can take them so
- 00:27:32um prevention is the best key for algae
- 00:27:36you can't really get rid of it other
- 00:27:38than covering it up and waiting for it
- 00:27:39to die but prevention is really the key
- 00:27:42with algae so now let's talk about when
- 00:27:45we get our plants um to maturity when
- 00:27:48they're really growing and they're
- 00:27:49flowering because it's a completely
- 00:27:51different plant it's completely
- 00:27:52different world when your plant starts
- 00:27:53flowering your maintenance is going to
- 00:27:55be like every one or two days um the
- 00:27:58maximum light is required so you need to
- 00:28:01turn those grow lights up it becomes
- 00:28:03much thirstier so you're gonna have to
- 00:28:04top off a lot more uh you need a lot
- 00:28:06more phosphorus a lot more pottassium
- 00:28:08and a lot more of nutrients overall in
- 00:28:11general so this is really crucial
- 00:28:14information to know and to look up to
- 00:28:16know your EC and to maintain that and to
- 00:28:19move it up appropriately throughout your
- 00:28:21grow all right let me cover some tips
- 00:28:24some tricks and some hacks these are
- 00:28:27things that I've learned over the past
- 00:28:2910 years that you're not going to just
- 00:28:31find on a Google search all right first
- 00:28:34thing store your meters your EC and your
- 00:28:37pH meter take the little tip cover off
- 00:28:39and just storm in a glass of water
- 00:28:41upside down with a tip in the water um
- 00:28:44make sure the water is zero EC and has a
- 00:28:46pH of 6.0 and this will keep any water
- 00:28:49from drying up on the tip and that can
- 00:28:51mess with the calibration so I store all
- 00:28:53my meters in the same glass just with
- 00:28:54the tip down and
- 00:28:56water number two the water that you use
- 00:28:59when you start your garden that should
- 00:29:01be the same source that you use
- 00:29:03throughout the entire grow what I mean
- 00:29:05by that is if you use tap water when you
- 00:29:07start use tap water when you top off and
- 00:29:10through the entire grow don't switch to
- 00:29:12filter water this is because your plant
- 00:29:14has grown accustomed to what's in that
- 00:29:16top water particularly like calcium and
- 00:29:18magnesium uh sulfur is another big one
- 00:29:20that you can find in tap water iron so
- 00:29:23if you're giving your plants to water
- 00:29:25and then you switch it over to um fil
- 00:29:28water it is likely going to have show
- 00:29:31signs of deficiencies as it's developed
- 00:29:32needs for these other uh things that
- 00:29:35you've been giving it and the other way
- 00:29:36around too if you're doing filtered
- 00:29:37water and you suddenly switch to tap
- 00:29:39water then you might notice some strange
- 00:29:41things happening in your plant so yes
- 00:29:45the water you use when you start needs
- 00:29:47to be the water you use the entire time
- 00:29:49number three wait until after you've
- 00:29:51mixed all of your nutrients until you
- 00:29:54measure your pH so nutrients just by
- 00:29:58nature are going to be a lot more acidic
- 00:30:01so when you put them into your water
- 00:30:03they take the PH down so you want to
- 00:30:05make sure you mix all your nutrients and
- 00:30:06you have your final EC set for your
- 00:30:08garden and then read your pH and put
- 00:30:10them into your garden and then read your
- 00:30:12Garden's pH and mix that appropriately
- 00:30:14cover your rock wool to prevent algae
- 00:30:17with pool noodles I started using clay
- 00:30:20Pebbles to cover my rock wool but they
- 00:30:22started falling out and my kids would
- 00:30:23take them out and they get all over the
- 00:30:24floor and it was really annoying so I
- 00:30:25needed to find an easier solution I
- 00:30:26found that cutting pool noodle and
- 00:30:28putting them around the neck cup is a
- 00:30:30great way to prevent algae from your
- 00:30:33rock wall number five pick up a new
- 00:30:36needle so a new needle is just 100
- 00:30:39milliliter giant syringe and it makes it
- 00:30:41really easy to take readings from your
- 00:30:43garden and to put read and to put top
- 00:30:45offs into your garden and also for
- 00:30:47putting hydrogen peroxide into your
- 00:30:48garden really really simple great tool I
- 00:30:50wish I had a long time ago number six
- 00:30:53allow your plants to grow through the
- 00:30:54rock wool before you put them in your
- 00:30:56garden let your sprout let your early
- 00:30:58growth get big before you plant it into
- 00:31:01your garden this is something that a lot
- 00:31:02of people struggle with and an issue
- 00:31:04that I find uh a lot of times when
- 00:31:06people are transplanting into their
- 00:31:07Gardens they'll do it too soon and then
- 00:31:09their their plant doesn't really have a
- 00:31:11chance you want to let your roots grow
- 00:31:12through that rock wool so that when you
- 00:31:14put them in their garden they're
- 00:31:15immediately introduced to the water
- 00:31:18however you're giving them water in that
- 00:31:19type of garden so I let them grow at
- 00:31:21least an inch to two inches outside of
- 00:31:23the rock wool before I plant them into
- 00:31:25my
- 00:31:26garden when you're German minating and
- 00:31:29for early growth bathe your your plants
- 00:31:32in a heavy dose of blue and UVA light so
- 00:31:36this is going to keep it compact but get
- 00:31:39nice bushy leafy growth without having
- 00:31:41any stim elongation UVA also strengthens
- 00:31:44the plant uh promotes troms which make
- 00:31:47the plant much stronger and more
- 00:31:49resilient so if you do this during early
- 00:31:51growth then you'll have a better
- 00:31:52stronger plant for it it's actually all
- 00:31:55this guys is actually really easy I'm
- 00:31:58not going to say simple it's not simple
- 00:32:00but once you figure it out it's really
- 00:32:03quite easy it's kind of like when you
- 00:32:04move to a new city and you like take a
- 00:32:07turn down the wrong road and you feel
- 00:32:09like oh my gosh I'm G to be lost forever
- 00:32:10I have no idea where I'm going this all
- 00:32:12feels so overwhelming and so
- 00:32:14intimidating but as soon as you learn it
- 00:32:17then you can never get lost again you
- 00:32:19know navigating the road ahead becomes
- 00:32:21easy and effortless you don't even have
- 00:32:22to think about it Hydroponics is is kind
- 00:32:25of the same way so let me be your t
- 00:32:28guide through the world of hydroponic
- 00:32:29gardening please I'm going to talk to
- 00:32:32you guys a little bit more about the
- 00:32:33school of Hydroponics I figure if you're
- 00:32:34still watching at this point then you're
- 00:32:35probably pretty serious about growing
- 00:32:37out your hydroponic garden and that
- 00:32:39school of Hydroponics would massively
- 00:32:40benefit you so let me run you through
- 00:32:42everything that we're going to do in
- 00:32:44that so it's broken up into five modules
- 00:32:46and each module is filled with video
- 00:32:48courses and course guide materials the
- 00:32:51force first module we're going to talk
- 00:32:53about the best way to germinate your
- 00:32:54seeds we're going to build the
- 00:32:55self-watering germination station it's
- 00:32:57also good from micro grain this will get
- 00:32:59us into the wick method we also talk
- 00:33:01about and I teach you how to clone herbs
- 00:33:04into rock wool cubes then we're going to
- 00:33:06discuss the science and teach you how to
- 00:33:08do lighting for germination and Sprouts
- 00:33:11module two we're going to learn all
- 00:33:12about the crackie method and passive
- 00:33:14Hydroponics as we build out crackie prep
- 00:33:16Gardens and how many do we build two
- 00:33:19five gallon crackie Gardens then we
- 00:33:21learn literally everything there is to
- 00:33:23know about nutrients and pH and we're
- 00:33:26going to build out a custom full
- 00:33:27spectrum LED grow like that is super
- 00:33:29cool we also learn how to clone directly
- 00:33:31into water module three we're going to
- 00:33:34learn all about deep water culture
- 00:33:35Gardens we're going to learn about the
- 00:33:36science with adding air to our Gardens
- 00:33:38and what air does uh for plants we're
- 00:33:41going to build out four deep water
- 00:33:42culture Gardens we also learn about
- 00:33:44lighting for vegetation and full
- 00:33:46spectrum LED grow lights module four we
- 00:33:50start dipping into aeroponics we build
- 00:33:52Tower Gardens we learn about aeroponic
- 00:33:55science we learn about maintaining Tower
- 00:33:56Gardens we build two Tower Gardens one
- 00:33:59low pressure aeroponic tower garden uh
- 00:34:01we build a custom tower garden light
- 00:34:03which is also super cool we learn about
- 00:34:06cloning back into our garden as we
- 00:34:07approach the infinite Garden technique
- 00:34:10um we also learn about lighting for late
- 00:34:12veg and pre-flowering and we cover
- 00:34:14everything you're ever going to need to
- 00:34:16know about maintaining your hydroponic
- 00:34:19garden through the entire growth cycle
- 00:34:21module five we cover Advanced
- 00:34:23Hydroponics we cover High Press
- 00:34:25aeroponics we build a high press
- 00:34:27aeroponic garden and we build a low
- 00:34:29pressure aeroponic Garden we build a fog
- 00:34:31ponic cloner and we Master lighting for
- 00:34:34flowering as I talked about before um
- 00:34:37when I was really getting into this I
- 00:34:39started looking into like a college
- 00:34:40education really digging into it and as
- 00:34:43I discovered a college education in
- 00:34:45sustainable horiculture is tens of
- 00:34:47thousands of dollars and most of it
- 00:34:50takes place in a classroom which I
- 00:34:52thought was super lame so I know I've
- 00:34:55already saved you time and money with
- 00:34:56this if you what you've learned in this
- 00:34:58master class but if you're looking to
- 00:35:01grow a lot more inside your house and
- 00:35:03really take this to the next step I can
- 00:35:04save you a lot more time and a lot more
- 00:35:06money with the deals that I'm going to
- 00:35:07give you guys just for watching this
- 00:35:09master class so these bonuses are just
- 00:35:12for you guys watching this master class
- 00:35:14I'm not offering them to anybody else
- 00:35:15the first bonus of three is half off the
- 00:35:18entire enrollment for the school of
- 00:35:20Hydroponics just for you guys the second
- 00:35:22bonus is kind of a big one uh I'm giving
- 00:35:25you my entire mastering your tower
- 00:35:28garden course which is a 14 video a
- 00:35:30whole a whole separate master class in
- 00:35:33itself I'm going to give you guys that
- 00:35:35uh for free as well as my synthesizing
- 00:35:38sunlight complete ebook to LED indoor
- 00:35:40lighting and I'm going to throw in four
- 00:35:43completely exclusive guides that you
- 00:35:46can't get anywhere you can't find these
- 00:35:47on the website these are only going to
- 00:35:49be available through this deal I have a
- 00:35:51pest control guide I have a guide for
- 00:35:53self-pollination I have the guide to
- 00:35:55tower garden deep cleaning and I have a
- 00:35:57guide for outdoor lighting before I get
- 00:35:59into the third one I want to talk to you
- 00:36:01guys about a little Q&A some questions
- 00:36:03that you all sent to me that I want to
- 00:36:04answer for you uh as quickly and
- 00:36:07eloquently as possible so what type of
- 00:36:10plants can grow hydroponically I love
- 00:36:12this one because it the answer really
- 00:36:14just comes down to your imagination like
- 00:36:16what can you build because you can
- 00:36:18actually grow get
- 00:36:20this anything anything think of a plant
- 00:36:24you can somehow grow it hydroponically
- 00:36:26uh it just depends on the type of garden
- 00:36:28you know it depends on the type of
- 00:36:29garden and what you want to grow so like
- 00:36:32I said before with the crackie garden
- 00:36:33that's good for you know your lettuce
- 00:36:35you can grow a lot of different things
- 00:36:36in that but what about root vegetables
- 00:36:38if I want to grow potatoes carrots beets
- 00:36:40radish stuff like that well High Press
- 00:36:42aeroponics low pressure aeroponics
- 00:36:45sometimes and fog ponics are actually
- 00:36:46great for tubers and potatoes because
- 00:36:48they don't soak the potato and make it
- 00:36:50all Rotty and weird trees I'm growing a
- 00:36:52lemon tree right now and if you have a
- 00:36:54large enough that if you have a large
- 00:36:56enough container then you can certainly
- 00:36:58grow trees using cracky method or a deep
- 00:37:00water culture I'm actually going to be
- 00:37:02doing experiments very soon where I dig
- 00:37:04a huge hole and I'm going to be planting
- 00:37:07a 50 gallon drum to try to grow a tree
- 00:37:09out of hydroponically so really you can
- 00:37:11grow anything hydroponically it just
- 00:37:13comes up to how much you know about
- 00:37:14Hydroponics and building out the types
- 00:37:16of different Gardens why are my plants
- 00:37:18not growing okay this one usually comes
- 00:37:21down to a couple different things it
- 00:37:23could be root rot root rot will
- 00:37:25definitely keep your plants from growing
- 00:37:27you'll notice just stunted growth and
- 00:37:28then they'll start dying if they're not
- 00:37:31getting enough light that's a really
- 00:37:33really really big one U make sure your
- 00:37:35plants are getting enough light a lot of
- 00:37:37times if they're not getting enough
- 00:37:38they'll they'll still stretch but the
- 00:37:39growth will be hindered the number one
- 00:37:41cul rate for this though is not enough
- 00:37:43oxygen so if your plants aren't growing
- 00:37:45I would start by checking for root rot
- 00:37:47and then adding uh your 15 milliliters
- 00:37:49per gallon of 3% food grade hydrogen
- 00:37:52peroxide so why do I have yellowing
- 00:37:54leaves yeah this is a tough one because
- 00:37:57when it comes down to nutrients as you
- 00:37:59learn in like the school of Hydroponics
- 00:38:02um one nutrient deficiency can have an
- 00:38:05effect on all the other nutrients like
- 00:38:08one can look like something totally
- 00:38:11different they can be very deceiving you
- 00:38:12know a deficiency in Sulfur can actually
- 00:38:14look like a deficiency in nitrogen a
- 00:38:16deficiency in calcium could actually
- 00:38:17look like a deficiency in nitrogen again
- 00:38:20so you really don't know um what is
- 00:38:23happening unless you know what's really
- 00:38:26in the water so yellow leaves usually
- 00:38:28has to do with a nitrogen or a magnesium
- 00:38:30deficiency but it's hard to tell because
- 00:38:32you don't know what's actually causing
- 00:38:34that deficiency it's another nutrient
- 00:38:36causing that deficiency too much of it
- 00:38:37or too less too little of it so when I
- 00:38:39have yellowing leaves I actually just do
- 00:38:41a full um full flush I'll just pull
- 00:38:46everything out of that garden and put
- 00:38:48full fresh nutrients where I know I just
- 00:38:51mixed them I know it's in there I just
- 00:38:52appropriately mixed everything to the EC
- 00:38:54it should be and I put it back in the
- 00:38:55garden that usually fixes the problem
- 00:38:58why is my lettuce stretching this is
- 00:39:01lighting this is a lighting issue 100%
- 00:39:03if you have anything that's stretching
- 00:39:04that's like stem elongation especially
- 00:39:07lettuce then get it away from such
- 00:39:09intense light um and try to introduce it
- 00:39:11to more blue light and get it away from
- 00:39:13that red
- 00:39:14light should I add a grow light to my
- 00:39:17outdoor Garden this might seem weird and
- 00:39:19like a silly question but this is a real
- 00:39:20question I got just last week on a
- 00:39:22consultation call and yes this person in
- 00:39:25this particular instance uh should
- 00:39:27because what they have is they were
- 00:39:28growing between two houses and their
- 00:39:30backyard only receives about 6 hours of
- 00:39:33direct sunlight so what we figured out
- 00:39:35was ways that uh she could hang
- 00:39:37reflectors just white sheets basically
- 00:39:40on a fence to reflect some sunlight in
- 00:39:42hours when it's not getting any as well
- 00:39:44as adding grow lights um in the morning
- 00:39:47and in the evening to help with the
- 00:39:48garden totally you can definitely add
- 00:39:50grow lights if you're not getting
- 00:39:51adequate sunlight all right on to bonus
- 00:39:54three a 30 minute Zoom consultation
- 00:39:58with yours truly we can discuss anything
- 00:40:01you want to talk about this is only for
- 00:40:04you guys watching this video right now
- 00:40:06and this is a limited um a limited bonus
- 00:40:11we'll say let me go through the bonuses
- 00:40:12and I'll explain what I mean by that so
- 00:40:14bonus one we're doing half off
- 00:40:16everything bonus two you're going to get
- 00:40:18not just the school of Hydroponics which
- 00:40:19is an insanely massive comprehensive
- 00:40:22detailed indoor hydroponic gardening
- 00:40:24guide but you're also going to get
- 00:40:26master your tower garden course guide
- 00:40:28you're going to get synthesizing
- 00:40:29sunlight my ebook and four exclusive
- 00:40:32hydroponic guides plus you're going to
- 00:40:33get a 30-minute video chat with me to
- 00:40:35talk about anything you need the only
- 00:40:37thing is because this is exclusive to
- 00:40:39you guys watching this master class it's
