Sintesi

hello and welcome to paddling and
  • 00:00:09
    pedaling Florida Adventures I'm your
  • 00:00:11
host Mr D hey today we're doing a
  • 00:00:13
product review guys and I've been
  • 00:00:16
thinking about this for a while because
  • 00:00:18
uh my sister doesn't know it but I want
  • 00:00:19
to mic her up but I want to mic her up
  • 00:00:22
so it it works as off of my pocket too
  • 00:00:26
not off of her camera and what I want to
  • 00:00:29
    do
  • 00:00:30
is do a test of the hollyland and that's
  • 00:00:34
    what I'm reviewing today and that's a
  • 00:00:36
dual mic system you get two mics plus
  • 00:00:40
    the uh
  • 00:00:41
receiver and I'm putting it up against
  • 00:00:44
my old and trusty 5-year-old Road go now
  • 00:00:48
the road go is a single mic system and
  • 00:00:52
if I wanted to go with the Dual mic
  • 00:00:55
system man that's up around the $250
  • 00:00:57
Mark or if not higher and uh the Holly
  • 00:01:02
Land is half that or almost half um it's
  • 00:01:07
sitting at right around I think it was
  • 00:01:09
149 I got it on sale for
  • 00:01:11
103 uh so what I want to do today is
  • 00:01:16
test it out now I've already noticed a
  • 00:01:18
couple differences and one thing the
  • 00:01:20
    road has the LCD screen
  • 00:01:23
on the uh receiver where Hol land has
  • 00:01:29
nothing so you have to look at your
  • 00:01:32
Soundbars on your camera that you're
  • 00:01:34
using but that's really not a big deal
  • 00:01:37
for me because I normally do this anyway
  • 00:01:40
it has the standard uh DB adjustments
  • 00:01:43
both of them are the same uh I've set
  • 00:01:46
these identically the same I put the the
  • 00:01:50
um transmitters in the exact same
  • 00:01:53
location across from each other both of
  • 00:01:55
them have wind socks uh and the other
  • 00:01:58
thing I noticed right away is is the
  • 00:02:00
road I get two channel uh recording
  • 00:02:04
sound recording where on the hollyland I
  • 00:02:07
    get
  • 00:02:08
single uh single Channel recording and
  • 00:02:11
the reason being is is the the other
  • 00:02:13
channel is used by the other microphone
  • 00:02:15
so that'll come in handy but I don't
  • 00:02:17
know how it's going to work as far as my
  • 00:02:19
Productions go but what we're going to
  • 00:02:21
do now is we are on the GeForce uh ebike
  • 00:02:24
today and we're going to go out and
  • 00:02:26
check all this stuff out and see how it
  • 00:02:28
does I'm real curious to see how it
  • 00:02:30
handles the wind like I said I have dead
  • 00:02:32
cats on both of these and the sound
  • 00:02:35
quality which is really really critical
  • 00:02:37
so anyway hey we're going to get out
  • 00:02:39
here on the road so we'll be back in a
  • 00:02:41
bit all right guys what I want to do now
  • 00:02:43
is I'm running alongside of Highway
  • 00:02:47
27 and it gets really really noisy out
  • 00:02:51
here and what I wanted to do was to
  • 00:02:54
see uh I don't want to use they have
  • 00:02:57
this noise reduction button but it makes
  • 00:02:59
you sound like you're you're talking in
  • 00:03:00
a trash can so I think with the dead
  • 00:03:03
cats on I should be able to get a pretty
  • 00:03:06
decent uh audio but like I said that's
  • 00:03:10
why I chose to come along the Highway 27
  • 00:03:14
so we can pick up all the vehicle noises
  • 00:03:16
and all the background noises and all
  • 00:03:18
    that kind of stuff like
  • 00:03:19
    that
  • 00:03:22
um let's talk a little bit about the
  • 00:03:24
holand Dual mic system now one of the
  • 00:03:28
    things I noticed right away
  • 00:03:30
is the size difference between the road
  • 00:03:35
go and uh I mean it's
  • 00:03:40
    like it's
  • 00:03:42
    about half the
  • 00:03:45
size of the road go system uh so it
  • 00:03:50
conceals better but again I think that's
  • 00:03:53
because they have the LCD system in the
  • 00:03:56
road go which would take uh a lot more
  • 00:03:59
room to do do uh there is no LCD system
  • 00:04:03
    in the
  • 00:04:04
hollyland so anyway uh we kind of rode
  • 00:04:09
our way up a couple of Miles here
  • 00:04:13
and today I'm shooting this all on a
  • 00:04:16
    GoPro 10 and a GoPro 11 I have the
  • 00:04:19
settings exactly the same the audio
  • 00:04:21
settings exactly the same and I want to
  • 00:04:25
see basically if there is a
  • 00:04:29
difference in audio quality and you guys
  • 00:04:32
if you want to as you listen to this and
  • 00:04:35
I'll be switching back and forth on
  • 00:04:37
between Audios in this video and you can
  • 00:04:41
kind of give me your opinion uh I'm
  • 00:04:43
going to not edit them I'm going to
  • 00:04:47
leave them raw coming right out of the
  • 00:04:49
camera and we'll see how it does so
  • 00:04:51
anyway we'll be back in a bit we're
  • 00:04:53
heading out to uh get us some coffee cuz
  • 00:04:55
it is cold this morning so hey we'll be
  • 00:04:58
back in a bit the range on both of these
  • 00:05:01
is pretty close to the same Rogue claims
  • 00:05:05
that they uh get 600 ft and then Hol
  • 00:05:09
land claims around 650 ft and that's
  • 00:05:12
what causes uh any that's straight line
  • 00:05:15
if there's no trees no stuff like that
  • 00:05:17
so I'd cut it down probably around 400
  • 00:05:20
ft uh should be a good place to go so uh
  • 00:05:25
we're we're testing this stuff out and
  • 00:05:27
seeing how everything's going and we're
  • 00:05:29
going to do our thing checking this
  • 00:05:30
microphone out and see how it sounds so
  • 00:05:32
hey we'll be back in a bit all anyway
  • 00:05:35
guys uh we just met a couple fine
  • 00:05:37
gentlemen I'm going to go buy them here
  • 00:05:39
in a minute and we going to pick them up
  • 00:05:41
on a thing uh but anyway I met these two
  • 00:05:44
Hooligans right here and and uh they're
  • 00:05:47
going to be on the channel so it's going
  • 00:05:49
to be cool so we'll see y'all
  • 00:05:53
later but anyway uh we out playing
  • 00:05:57
around here and just just enjoying the
  • 00:05:59
morning it is cold this morning but now
  • 00:06:01
I'm running along a busy busy uh street
  • 00:06:04
again I want to see how it does with
  • 00:06:07
Highway noise and like I was saying but
  • 00:06:09
them guys came up and we started cutting
  • 00:06:11
up so I don't know if I got that uh
  • 00:06:13
    information
  • 00:06:14
across um as far as what the distance of
  • 00:06:17
    the microphones
  • 00:06:19
are now the r go to uh claims 600 F feet
  • 00:06:24
and Holly Land claims 650 ft uh now
  • 00:06:29
that's also unobstructed and all this
  • 00:06:31
kind of thing like that the more
  • 00:06:32
obstructions you have the more it's
  • 00:06:34
going to knock the signal down and
  • 00:06:35
that's with anything that you do so if
  • 00:06:37
you're in between a whole bunch of
  • 00:06:39
    buildings I wouldn't expect to see 600t
  • 00:06:42
range but I'm not going to be that oops
  • 00:06:45
I'm not going to be that far away um I
  • 00:06:49
mean that's two football field so I'm
  • 00:06:51
not going to be that far away from my
  • 00:06:53
cameras and stuff anyway so if I can get
  • 00:06:58
a couple hundred feet especially if I'm
  • 00:06:59
kaying out there and like I said my
  • 00:07:02
sister don't know it yet but I'm going
  • 00:07:05
to mic her up for our next paddle if
  • 00:07:08
this thing turns out to be a good thing
  • 00:07:11
uh and again I won't know until I get
  • 00:07:13
into post production uh then I'll find
  • 00:07:15
out what this thing is like so anyway uh
  • 00:07:18
we're going to continue our pedal uh
  • 00:07:20
down to my coffee brake spot and we'll
  • 00:07:23
shut this stuff all down for a little
  • 00:07:25
    bit
  • 00:07:26
and then we'll start heading back to see
  • 00:07:29
    how things
  • 00:07:30
come out and we get into post production
  • 00:07:31
so hey we'll be back in a bit hi guys
  • 00:07:35
taking my coffee break out here want to
  • 00:07:37
talk a little bit more uh about the Hol
  • 00:07:41
Land versus the road go now the Hol land
  • 00:07:44
claims to get about 8 hours of uh single
  • 00:07:49
use on a single charge and the same
  • 00:07:52
thing with the road there so that's
  • 00:07:53
comparable however the holand comes with
  • 00:07:56
a self-charging case so if you get done
  • 00:07:59
with a shoot you take both your mics pop
  • 00:08:02
them back in if you're using both or a
  • 00:08:03
single or whatever you're doing and pop
  • 00:08:06
that into your charging case put it in
  • 00:08:08
your camera bag and it's recharging that
  • 00:08:11
so you don't have to uh go to a power
  • 00:08:14
source like you do with the road go to
  • 00:08:17
plug it in and to get a recharge on that
  • 00:08:20
but again you get eight hours of of
  • 00:08:24
recording time and none of my videos are
  • 00:08:28
    ever 8 hours long
  • 00:08:30
I never do a shoot that long most length
  • 00:08:33
I'll do is like three hours on a a
  • 00:08:35
paddle for instance or a paddle review
  • 00:08:37
    but
  • 00:08:40
the Somebody almost hit somebody anyway
  • 00:08:44
the most I'll do on a paddle review is
  • 00:08:46
like 3 4 hours and but the cameras
  • 00:08:50
aren't running for that complete period
  • 00:08:52
of time so the road go uh to and
  • 00:08:57
hopefully the Hol land will work out out
  • 00:08:59
well except again Hol land on a single
  • 00:09:03
mic is going to be monoral one channel
  • 00:09:06
where road is two channel recording but
  • 00:09:09
if the second mic is fired up uh again
  • 00:09:12
now both channels will work so I
  • 00:09:14
understand I don't know if I could do
  • 00:09:17
something in post or is it not going to
  • 00:09:20
    make a difference I don't know I'm going
  • 00:09:21
to find that out today in post
  • 00:09:23
production but we're at our halfway
  • 00:09:25
point on our ride this morning so we're
  • 00:09:27
    going to head back up
  • 00:09:30
and uh get this thing back to the house
  • 00:09:32
get in post and then we'll review the
  • 00:09:35
footage and all that kind of stuff in
  • 00:09:37
the audio and then we will report on our
  • 00:09:40
findings at the ending when we do our
  • 00:09:42
wrapup so hey we'll be back in a
  • 00:09:45
bit well guys we're taking a break out
  • 00:09:47
here at my local park this is where I
  • 00:09:49
launch all my kayaks and stuff when I'm
  • 00:09:51
doing uh product reviews for advanced
  • 00:09:54
elements or uh air kayaks or whoever uh
  • 00:09:59
this is where I do it out here at this
  • 00:10:00
Lake it's real close to the house anyway
  • 00:10:04
um one of the things I wanted to check
  • 00:10:06
out here was a little bit of distance so
  • 00:10:08
I'm going to walk back this way and see
  • 00:10:10
if I can get any you know kind of static
  • 00:10:13
loss or getting static noise or anything
  • 00:10:15
like that and I'm only going to go about
  • 00:10:17
80 100 ft but I'm going to check it out
  • 00:10:19
and see what it does so let's get that
  • 00:10:22
    going right
  • 00:10:25
now uh I'm going to walk up here and
  • 00:10:29
the camera should keep me in I
  • 00:10:32
hope but I'm real curious to see what
  • 00:10:35
the quality of the audio is going to be
  • 00:10:38
and uh I got my back towards the Camas
  • 00:10:42
    right
  • 00:10:43
now and uh hopefully the audio is going
  • 00:10:47
to be good now I know on the goto
  • 00:10:51
    uh uh
  • 00:11:01
uh I'm going to walk up here and the
  • 00:11:04
camera should keep me in I
  • 00:11:07
hope but I'm real curious to see what
  • 00:11:09
the quality of the audio is going to be
  • 00:11:13
and uh I got my back towards the cameras
  • 00:11:16
    right
  • 00:11:17
now and uh hopefully the audio is going
  • 00:11:22
to be good now I know on the go to
  • 00:11:35
looking back over there I don't even
  • 00:11:37
know if you guys can see me let me get
  • 00:11:40
back in camera range here there I should
  • 00:11:43
    be in camera
  • 00:11:44
    range um I'm about 100 maybe 100 125 ft
  • 00:11:51
130 ft away I'm going start making my
  • 00:11:54
    way
  • 00:11:55
back and see if there was any audio loss
  • 00:11:58
or anything like that I don't
  • 00:12:01
know now what we're going to do when we
  • 00:12:04
finish this part of it up is a little
  • 00:12:06
bit different I'm going to go and get in
  • 00:12:09
post upload all these videos check out
  • 00:12:13
the audio and then I'll do the wrap up
  • 00:12:15
on the uh I'll do the wrap up on the
  • 00:12:19
microphone once I get back and be able
  • 00:12:22
to review the material on it so anyway
  • 00:12:26
hope you enjoyed this video guys um
  • 00:12:29
the hollyland I'm hoping I'm really
  • 00:12:32
hoping it works out well because I want
  • 00:12:33
    to be able
  • 00:12:34
to uh mic up my sister so what we're
  • 00:12:38
going to do now guys is we're going to
  • 00:12:39
ride back to the house and put these
  • 00:12:42
clips in the post production and I'm
  • 00:12:44
going to give them a listen I really
  • 00:12:46
want to see how well the audio is or how
  • 00:12:49
well it matches with my uh go-to uh Road
  • 00:12:53
go and then which is different from what
  • 00:12:56
I normally do I'm going to go ahead and
  • 00:12:59
do the wrapup on the hollyland uh dual
  • 00:13:03
mic lapel system so hey we'll be back in
  • 00:13:06
a bit well I finished up doing all the
  • 00:13:09
reviews on the uh audio files from the
  • 00:13:13
    hollyland Lark M1 and
  • 00:13:17
uh it doesn't make the cut guys it just
  • 00:13:20
does not make the cut uh the tone
  • 00:13:23
quality is Bassy and kind of muffled or
  • 00:13:27
kind of muted just a a little bit so the
  • 00:13:30
quality isn't there not like the road go
  • 00:13:33
which is clear and crisp this particular
  • 00:13:36
audio uh just did not make the cut and
  • 00:13:40
then something weird happened out there
  • 00:13:41
guys um when I mounted the two
  • 00:13:45
microphones the road go here and the uh
  • 00:13:48
the hollyland here and when I did that I
  • 00:13:50
mounted them up against my chest and
  • 00:13:52
when I did the walkway in both
  • 00:13:55
instances the actual frequency line of
  • 00:13:58
sight to uh the receiver was blocked as
  • 00:14:02
I got further away it knocked the signal
  • 00:14:05
down now on the road go it just cut it
  • 00:14:07
out and then on hollyland it started
  • 00:14:11
statick and that was like at 50 75 ft
  • 00:14:14
and then was popping in and out you saw
  • 00:14:17
uh both of those clips on this uh
  • 00:14:20
particular video and that made it not
  • 00:14:23
make the cut and it also made me think
  • 00:14:26
    that this particular hole thought
  • 00:14:29
process for this dual lavalier mic
  • 00:14:32
system to mic up my sister with this
  • 00:14:35
type of system will not work but I did
  • 00:14:37
    find one that
  • 00:14:39
will and it is the DJI dual mic system
  • 00:14:43
now here's the key factor here each one
  • 00:14:47
of the transmitters has its own backup
  • 00:14:50
recording up to 15 hours in each of the
  • 00:14:54
transmitters so if you do get a line of
  • 00:14:56
sight block and I'll use that term but
  • 00:14:58
that's where your frequency is muddled
  • 00:15:00
by blockages like your body or a big
  • 00:15:03
huge rock or a building or something
  • 00:15:05
like that and it breaks up the frequency
  • 00:15:07
line of sight to camera check this
  • 00:15:10
allows you to pull the backup audio off
  • 00:15:13
    the transmitters respectively now the
  • 00:15:15
cool thing is and I just found out I can
  • 00:15:18
do this with the receiver off and just
  • 00:15:21
    turn it's like having a
  • 00:15:24
portable uh microphone recorder uh clip
  • 00:15:28
    to your shirt
  • 00:15:29
it's really cool now I'm going to tell
  • 00:15:31
    you it's a little pricey it's $330 for
  • 00:15:33
this dual mic system but I think it'll
  • 00:15:36
solve my problem is trying to mic up my
  • 00:15:39
sister because all she'll have to do is
  • 00:15:41
hit the little orange button or I think
  • 00:15:43
or something like that where it turns on
  • 00:15:45
the backup recording and like I said I
  • 00:15:47
did find out that the receiver does not
  • 00:15:50
have to be on for it to do that all I
  • 00:15:52
have to do is upload the audio files uh
  • 00:15:56
to my desktop and then sync them in my
  • 00:15:59
uh video software editing tool and
  • 00:16:03
that's what I'm going to have to do now
  • 00:16:05
I looked at this and I looked at this
  • 00:16:06
real close and the Hol land regardless
  • 00:16:11
the Hol land Lark M1 did not make the
  • 00:16:15
cut is the audio was Bassy and kind of
  • 00:16:19
muffled or muddied that's the word I was
  • 00:16:21
looking for it kind of muddied and where
  • 00:16:23
the uh Road go was really crystal clear
  • 00:16:27
so anyway this is what I'm I'm going to
  • 00:16:29
do I'm going to do some more research
  • 00:16:30
before I do this but I think that the
  • 00:16:32
    DJI dual mic
  • 00:16:35
system uh will work for what I'm trying
  • 00:16:38
to accomplish so I'm not sure so anyway
  • 00:16:41
uh now as far as the road go goes
  • 00:16:44
unfortunately uh I lost the LCD screen
  • 00:16:48
yesterday it just quit working all I get
  • 00:16:51
is a gray line through it so and now
  • 00:16:54
that's 5 years old maybe six years old
  • 00:16:57
now so maybe it's a good time to go
  • 00:16:59
ahead and replace this out now as far as
  • 00:17:02
the audio you're listening to here I'm
  • 00:17:04
actually shooting the ending of this
  • 00:17:07
particular video using my pocket 2 with
  • 00:17:10
    the
  • 00:17:11
DJI microphone for the pocket 2 now
  • 00:17:14
unfortunately you cannot link up two D
  • 00:17:17
DJI wireless microphones to the uh DJI
  • 00:17:21
pocket 2 it will only accept One mic at
  • 00:17:24
a time so that's why I was thinking
  • 00:17:27
about setting up a dual mic system
  • 00:17:28
system and I think the Dual mic system
  • 00:17:31
from DJI is going to be the answer I'm
  • 00:17:34
not sure uh again we'll do a review on
  • 00:17:37
that and we'll put a video out and let
  • 00:17:39
you know what we think about that so hey
  • 00:17:42
we'll see you on the next one
