- 00:01:53bath it is wow it's a bit of a turning
- 00:01:55point it I feel um yes yeah switch has
- 00:02:00been flicked amazing okay tell me about
- 00:02:04that uh just a I suppose a realization
- 00:02:09um that there is a a clear choice that
- 00:02:13what I was trying to reconcile with um I
- 00:02:16suppose when I walk out of an experience
- 00:02:19like the soundbath yeah
- 00:02:22um and when I try to bring it back into
- 00:02:25my normal dayto days yeah and have the
- 00:02:29to magically just meld together and and
- 00:02:33work as one I was finding that really
- 00:02:36challenging Y and I had a realization
- 00:02:40it's only a day or two ago
- 00:02:45that this one this the one that I've
- 00:02:48been living for
- 00:02:50decades um doesn't gel well with being
- 00:02:54told to sort of change its way the
- 00:02:57pattern is strong yes um it's quite
- 00:02:59solid it's a welln track yes and uh I'm
- 00:03:04telling it to you know sort of come on
- 00:03:06change your ways you got to got to
- 00:03:08soften up those edges and do this and do
- 00:03:10that but I feel like I have to accept
- 00:03:14I've got to let that go yeah I have to
- 00:03:19actually change that whole format yes I
- 00:03:23was trying to adapt and do a little bit
- 00:03:26of a half half you know one foot in one
- 00:03:28Camp one foot in the other and say I'm
- 00:03:31sure this is going to work yeah I'm sure
- 00:03:34but no I actually now think all the all
- 00:03:37the um beautiful patterns that are now
- 00:03:40part of my life that I do crave the
- 00:03:43healthy eating uh the good sleeping
- 00:03:46routines um better ways of communicating
- 00:03:50a whole range of healthier ways yeah uh
- 00:03:53are a great framework yeah which I will
- 00:03:57stay with Y um but were maintenance for
- 00:04:01a very
- 00:04:03stressful life yeah they were just
- 00:04:06keeping everything just okay like yeah
- 00:04:09yeah and they did get me through yeah
- 00:04:14but I've
- 00:04:14realized a lot more of that framework
- 00:04:17has to crumble away yeah so that
- 00:04:21includes certain reactions yeah to
- 00:04:24stresses in life yeah um certain
- 00:04:27patterns of that RAC energy not doing me
- 00:04:31any favors yeah uh and that's that's
- 00:04:34hard that's that's a really hard one in
- 00:04:36living in Melbourne and it's you have to
- 00:04:39navigate through always congested
- 00:04:42traffic at this point cuz we're going
- 00:04:44through a big
- 00:04:45change um High demands on time of
- 00:04:49expectations of
- 00:04:52um quick we need this and you got to get
- 00:04:56so just the physical demands but also I
- 00:04:59suppose even on a um on communication
- 00:05:03levels of you know quick response to I
- 00:05:05sent you that yesterday yeah
- 00:05:08or I I texted you and I haven't heard
- 00:05:10back or all those Next Level
- 00:05:13expectations that we've all got Lay It
- 00:05:16Up on what we're already doing so it's
- 00:05:18made for a very um stressy tense yes way
- 00:05:23of living and I've just realized I have
- 00:05:27to change it all up
- 00:05:30yeah yeah so the soundbath
- 00:05:35approach it's interesting how week one
- 00:05:38week two week three taught me some
- 00:05:40things and week one was the biggest
- 00:05:45realization that I can come back to a
- 00:05:48state that is quite
- 00:05:51um it's
- 00:05:53small going back to who I am the core of
- 00:05:56who I am yeah and it had a lot of that
- 00:05:59child like me held in in that lovely
- 00:06:04golden um way that I went through the
- 00:06:06afternoon yep and I was navigating
- 00:06:08through the hospital and every
- 00:06:10interaction was just sweet yeah every
- 00:06:15not it lost the coarseness and the
- 00:06:18harshness that I've you know experienced
- 00:06:21days and days before yeah and and it
- 00:06:25felt so golden like in it's such a
- 00:06:27stressful time you know hb's there in a
- 00:06:30hospital bed and where not knowing
- 00:06:32what's happening with his heart and
- 00:06:34having to wait for uh surgeons to to
- 00:06:38inform us and and nurses to um take care
- 00:06:41of the day to day so it was on that
- 00:06:44level it should have been very stressful
- 00:06:46that afternoon like you'd be having a
- 00:06:48meltdown right absolutely I would have
- 00:06:50been having a meltdown yes all the the
- 00:06:53you know you're flooded with all the
- 00:06:55what if this what if that's going on but
- 00:06:58it was anything but and it was um a
- 00:07:02level of golden
- 00:07:05sweetness and I thought geez if you live
- 00:07:07like this all the time if how could that
- 00:07:11be possible so it does it was a reminder
- 00:07:14of a way of being yes and not
- 00:07:17necessarily being you know forever a
- 00:07:20child in the world and because we've got
- 00:07:23responsibilities we've got things that
- 00:07:25you still have to uh do you just still
- 00:07:30need to eat right yeah exactly and
- 00:07:32everything that's involved with getting
- 00:07:34that meal onto the table so it's like
- 00:07:37um I thought is is there a way and it it
- 00:07:41stayed with me all all afternoon into
- 00:07:44that night for the next day
- 00:07:47or yeah the next couple of
- 00:07:51days the second soundbath yeah opposite
- 00:07:55right when I came home yeah and
- 00:07:59and there was
- 00:08:01a situation where it was uh such a tense
- 00:08:06issue with my husband and we it was a
- 00:08:09flare up and a whole range and it just
- 00:08:12shook me out of that Golden State
- 00:08:15straight away
- 00:08:18yeah in within that was a lesson that in
- 00:08:22in reflection I didn't have to let go of
- 00:08:25that state yeah I actually gave into
- 00:08:31the opposite yeah
- 00:08:33and you know the natural way of
- 00:08:36interacting in that scenario I felt for
- 00:08:39that I just went into the old style of
- 00:08:43um I suppose that com combative um you
- 00:08:48know one versus one yeah that kind of
- 00:08:52thing going on and then so that that
- 00:08:56state didn't last long enough but I
- 00:08:58still was able to you know sort of get
- 00:09:01back to okay all right got through that
- 00:09:05now get into my creative practice now do
- 00:09:07this I have to and I was able to sort of
- 00:09:10tap back into it here and there through
- 00:09:11the week the third one a similar
- 00:09:15situation happened yep when I came home
- 00:09:18yep but this time rather than
- 00:09:21allowing um myself to hook into an
- 00:09:25argument I I chose to stand still and
- 00:09:29and and see it as this is not about me
- 00:09:34yep I can see this clearly this time
- 00:09:36yeah yeah I'm in a different framework
- 00:09:41I'm it's almost like two different
- 00:09:44operating systems that aren't working
- 00:09:46together anymore yes
- 00:09:49and I totally understood both of our
- 00:09:54perspectives but I just said once the
- 00:09:57dust settles I really want to talk this
- 00:09:58through yeah but right now it's not
- 00:10:01going to do either of us any favors if
- 00:10:03we go um yeah Toe to Toe on it yeah so
- 00:10:09it's interesting how the three weeks
- 00:10:11that's taught me that level of choice to
- 00:10:15stay within something that you know is
- 00:10:19nourishing to your system you know and
- 00:10:21understand it deeply how it's um
- 00:10:25something to cultivate and uh that's
- 00:10:29that's the clarity I'm now getting that
- 00:10:32um I was clinging on to a a an operating
- 00:10:35system that for me now it's outdated cuz
- 00:10:39it's not going to do well for me if I
- 00:10:41keep going like that over the next even
- 00:10:44the next 5 years it will set me up so
- 00:10:47poorly for old age yeah I will be
- 00:10:51so tight and sore and yeah
- 00:10:56um just in a very uncomfortable way of
- 00:11:00navigating through the world
- 00:11:03yes to make the decision now to not want
- 00:11:06that I can see how I can choose the
- 00:11:09other path yeah and it does
- 00:11:11include the the way that I'm eating it
- 00:11:14does
- 00:11:15include uh the different sleeping habits
- 00:11:19and other healthier habits yeah um but
- 00:11:22it also needs to have bought within a
- 00:11:27proper Embrace of that
- 00:11:29vibrational understanding of when it's
- 00:11:32getting thrown off kilter that I'm very
- 00:11:35conscious of it and I'm confident enough
- 00:11:37that I can pull back into um protecting
- 00:11:40that y with that and that's not saying
- 00:11:44ah you're just going to detached to
- 00:11:45Fairyland it's not that at all it's just
- 00:11:47saying no you actually be more grounded
- 00:11:50more grounded more there more present
- 00:11:53more present yeah present more aware yes
- 00:11:57yeah Less in your head less stuck in
- 00:11:59fear yes
- 00:12:01yeah and therefore leading to less aggro
- 00:12:05cuz the previous one hooks me into such
- 00:12:09a state of aggravation like
- 00:12:13anger seething because I'm not
- 00:12:16understood y or I'm misunderstood or I'm
- 00:12:23um trying to prove myself or any of that
- 00:12:27kind of energy it's just not me anymore
- 00:12:30I don't want that anymore
- 00:12:32yeah I I'm now accepting who I am yeah
- 00:12:38what I'm about yeah and when I had that
- 00:12:40sort of Golden State when I in the first
- 00:12:43after the first soundbath walking
- 00:12:44through that hospital it it was the core
- 00:12:47of me walking through there it was a
- 00:12:49lovely go like the the charm yeah uh the
- 00:12:54Kinder version of me and I need to
- 00:12:57cultivate
- 00:12:59and remind myself that she's she's so
- 00:13:03there yeah yeah yeah exactly exactly yes
- 00:13:07I guess the I guess
- 00:13:09maybe um the way I see it is
- 00:13:12that uh say pre sambath there's a real
- 00:13:16need to feel close to other people and
- 00:13:20um there's tissues behind you if you
- 00:13:22wish um and uh and that closeness is
- 00:13:28like you might say I need to feel
- 00:13:30love but you forget that well you are
- 00:13:33love you you your whole being is made of
- 00:13:36love you can't fit in any more love even
- 00:13:39if you tried even if you know someone
- 00:13:41gave you you know yeah I haven't thought
- 00:13:44of that course yeah yeah a track load of
- 00:13:46love you where would you put it
- 00:13:48yeah yeah so you're as big as you're
- 00:13:51going to get and when you feel that
- 00:13:54amount of love then what comes from that
- 00:13:57is you don't need to play someone else's
- 00:14:02puppet M you don't need to be cuz what
- 00:14:06happens as we all do is that we put each
- 00:14:09other in boxes you know we look at each
- 00:14:13other and we say oh yeah you're a female
- 00:14:16of this age of this class of this you
- 00:14:20know culture whatever and then you start
- 00:14:23making guesses oh yeah this is what I'm
- 00:14:25going to get out of you and if I don't
- 00:14:28I'm going to be a little bit uh maybe
- 00:14:31afraid because I it it will be going
- 00:14:33beyond the box that I've put you in yes
- 00:14:37so exactly and we do that to everyone
- 00:14:41that we're around you know like I'll do
- 00:14:43it to my wife my wife will do it to me
- 00:14:46and um and I'll expect my wife to behave
- 00:14:48a particular way she's my wife and if
- 00:14:51she doesn't behave like my wife I'll get
- 00:14:54disappointed because I'll say this is
- 00:14:55not the wife that I want
- 00:14:59which is totally ridiculous that whole
- 00:15:01thing is just putting each other in
- 00:15:03boxes yes and um when you step away from
- 00:15:08that and you go you know what I don't
- 00:15:10need to put anyone in a box exactly and
- 00:15:13and then I also don't need to behave in
- 00:15:16someone else's box the way they want me
- 00:15:19to behave I like that you mentioned that
- 00:15:21yeah exactly and it's not that you then
- 00:15:25become distant it's just that you
- 00:15:30can be more at peace with the way people
- 00:15:32are because you go oh I see you're just
- 00:15:36confused there the way you think I am
- 00:15:38yes and that's okay I'm just I'm just
- 00:15:40not playing that role yeah and if you're
- 00:15:43getting upset about that that that's
- 00:15:45okay that's not me that's just something
- 00:15:47for you to learn yeah it's a projection
- 00:15:50it's a projection yeah yeah so but I
- 00:15:55think um probably what what what I used
- 00:15:58to do was that I would want people to be
- 00:16:03maintained within the boxes that I
- 00:16:05created for them and I would want to be
- 00:16:08liked so I'd be happily playing
- 00:16:11someone's version of me yeah yes but
- 00:16:15it's just doesn't it's not possible
- 00:16:17because oh yeah it's so restrictive
- 00:16:19people's boxes change all the time and
- 00:16:21you don't always know you know like how
- 00:16:24do you want me to behave
- 00:16:26I'm I thought I was doing all the right
- 00:16:29things but now now you've changed and I
- 00:16:32don't know how to behave yes and that's
- 00:16:36right up in your face when you um the
- 00:16:38family Dynamics with you know the
- 00:16:40brothers and sisters you've grown up
- 00:16:42with yeah and you know you all go on
- 00:16:45your own different paths and whenever
- 00:16:46you come back together a lot of them are
- 00:16:48like what you know you you're this and
- 00:16:52I'm like no I'm not I never was yeah
- 00:16:55yeah in your mind may be many years ago
- 00:16:58but not anymore or maybe not even then
- 00:17:02yeah yeah it was just this little box
- 00:17:04set of expectations because of the
- 00:17:06gender role or because of the age cuz
- 00:17:09you you know I'm the older one and
- 00:17:11that's right you're my little sister and
- 00:17:13all that sort of stuff going on like a
- 00:17:15little
- 00:17:17sister so yeah but yeah it is that funny
- 00:17:20thing um there are you know like
- 00:17:25certain um points that are
- 00:17:30like I know when I get together with um
- 00:17:32my brothers that yeah there there still
- 00:17:35is some of this role playing yeah and
- 00:17:37you're not aware of it until it comes
- 00:17:38right up in your
- 00:17:40face like around Christmas Yeah
- 00:17:42Christmas yeah yeah the I think a
- 00:17:45hospital emergency is the uh overrun
- 00:17:48with broken noses apparently that's the
- 00:17:51the stat
- 00:17:53[Music]
- 00:17:54yeah yeah so and uh you wouldn't be
- 00:17:58expecting adults to be breaking noses
- 00:18:01you'd probably think that would probably
- 00:18:02come from you know like
- 00:18:06teenagers um but no adults behaving like
- 00:18:10teenagers yeah yeah still stuck in their
- 00:18:13teenage box yeah yeah so
- 00:18:18um so yeah it's an interesting thing to
- 00:18:25feel
- 00:18:26very loved by yourself and to feel that
- 00:18:30love and feel very settled and very calm
- 00:18:32and go oh you know what I don't need
- 00:18:35anyone to give me this I've already got
- 00:18:39it yeah I've already got
- 00:18:42it not I'm not fully there but I'm just
- 00:18:46yeah
- 00:18:48just yeah yeah yeah you just need to
- 00:18:50keep returning to it yeah I mean that's
- 00:18:53that's the thing that we all need to do
- 00:18:55every day keep returning to it and go oh
- 00:18:57yeah that's right
- 00:18:59I'm totally whole I'm not missing
- 00:19:02anything yeah yeah yeah yeah that new
- 00:19:06watch is not going to make me feel new
- 00:19:08more complete yeah yeah this car is not
- 00:19:12going to make me feel more than not
- 00:19:14having the car yeah all of these things
- 00:19:18that we project onto people even you
- 00:19:20know you might think I'd really like to
- 00:19:22ask this person out on a date and if
- 00:19:24they don't agree then I'll feel like my
- 00:19:27confidence has been shattered that's
- 00:19:30just a projection yeah yeah
- 00:19:34um so yeah when you feel totally loved
- 00:19:38by yourself it's very fing very fing
- 00:19:43yeah yeah it's very good well we should
- 00:19:47go experience some of that now right we
- 00:19:49should okay let's go for it

- 00:21:23so you had a tandem sand bath yeah a
- 00:21:25unique experience yeah yeah usually I do
- 00:21:29a lot of group
- 00:21:30SBS so you know up to 35 people or
- 00:21:34whatnot and um so but I always think
- 00:21:37that the individual soundbath should
- 00:21:39probably go a little bit deeper yes um
- 00:21:42but yeah I'm wondering what it was like
- 00:21:44just the two of
- 00:21:45you um I'm still I starting to think of
- 00:21:49how that felt different and definitely
- 00:21:54um the presence of someone else next to
- 00:21:57you in the early stages yeah and even at
- 00:22:01the beginning when sh was giggling she
- 00:22:03said you know it's like having a
- 00:22:05sleepover when I was nine and it was
- 00:22:08kind of that set me in a good state in
- 00:22:12terms of framing it of getting back to
- 00:22:15an Essence that I'm I'm really happy to
- 00:22:18to touch base again with yeah so it set
- 00:22:21the tone for me I don't know how that
- 00:22:23works for shelle but um and then as your
- 00:22:27sequence progressed yeah um it was just
- 00:22:31like a normal sound bath yeah oh that's
- 00:22:34good previous ones there was no
- 00:22:38no self-consciousness or interference in
- 00:22:41any way it was just lovely just bathing
- 00:22:45in the the resonance that was waving
- 00:22:47through yeah yeah it is a funny thing
- 00:22:50when you're when you're around here
- 00:22:51there's a certain amount of that animal
- 00:22:53instinct to to be protective you know
- 00:22:56like oh I don't want to offend someone
- 00:22:59or I I don't want to have them interfere
- 00:23:03with me in any way and yeah this just
- 00:23:06that awareness
- 00:23:09of
- 00:23:11um maybe protecting your own experience
- 00:23:16yes yeah that's it that's it but no it
- 00:23:19just melted away um so I think your
- 00:23:23tuning Forks at the beginning there the
- 00:23:25lovely tuning Forks that started to
- 00:23:28remind me just to um sort of catch those
- 00:23:33waves rolling through and Y that stopped
- 00:23:37any any other conversations that were
- 00:23:39going on in my head or any other any
- 00:23:41other concerns yeah yeah what I at least
- 00:23:46what I find for myself is that you know
- 00:23:49the chatter is always always there but
- 00:23:51it's how much you engage with it you
- 00:23:53know that mental chatter yes and um the
- 00:23:56mental chatter is very good at knowing
- 00:23:58your we spots
- 00:24:00yeah and so we'll dredge up something
- 00:24:03that we be like oh have you not thought
- 00:24:04about
- 00:24:05this well I had less chatter than any of
- 00:24:10the sessions wow that's great yeah
- 00:24:14fantastic very happy to relax and I even
- 00:24:17thought um in that early stage because
- 00:24:21this is a morning session normally I do
- 00:24:22an afternoon session with you yes uh I
- 00:24:25was in a different um state of aess yes
- 00:24:29so the previous ones I do drop off to
- 00:24:31sleep and I have ended up in that
- 00:24:33embarrassing snoring state but this time
- 00:24:37I stayed with it for a long time yeah
- 00:24:40and only just I think just for a
- 00:24:42fraction of a moment dropped
- 00:24:44off at the tail end of one of the gong
- 00:24:47sequences yes but um I pretty much was
- 00:24:52was there enjoying that whole range yeah
- 00:24:56yeah I had noticed that cuz i' been
- 00:24:58looking up from time to time trying to
- 00:25:00figure out right one of you has dropped
- 00:25:02off who is it
- 00:25:04[Laughter]
- 00:25:06yeah and uh yeah it's it's yeah
- 00:25:10interesting you know I guess what I'm
- 00:25:12looking for as a sound bath practitioner
- 00:25:16is has you're breathing oh okay yeah I'm
- 00:25:20looking at you know the rise and fall of
- 00:25:22tummy's diaphragms just to go right so
- 00:25:25is it getting longer is it getting
- 00:25:27deeper or is it
- 00:25:30quickening um that's an indication if
- 00:25:34there's a you know sometimes people find
- 00:25:36that when there's particular bow played
- 00:25:39it can spark something just like a small
- 00:25:41amount of irritation or whatnot or I
- 00:25:43might be hitting some
- 00:25:46some aspect that's reminding you of
- 00:25:49something I did notice that yeah so
- 00:25:53those gongs went into a really big deep
- 00:25:57sequence and I loved it it's very
- 00:25:59cinematic for me it's it's like almost
- 00:26:02uh
- 00:26:03um um not Star Wars but
- 00:26:09um what's the other big one it's like
- 00:26:12Star Wars oh where it's uh is it
- 00:26:16Skywalker and yeah yeah yeah yeah so um
- 00:26:20that very out in far into space yes very
- 00:26:24big deep energy um and then
- 00:26:28there was one particular bowl that I
- 00:26:30thought now that actually resonates
- 00:26:33really differently in my head to
- 00:26:35something more British and royal family
- 00:26:39they're set at a different s of
- 00:26:41vibration yeah and every time that was
- 00:26:44struck I kept thinking that's that's
- 00:26:47Regal but it's not Tibetan depth Regal
- 00:26:51it's it's monarchy it's
- 00:26:54um sort of a different yeah yeah yeah
- 00:26:59it's a bit like I guess for me it's like
- 00:27:01trying to get to some Purity that you
- 00:27:05connect with that you can understand on
- 00:27:09a
- 00:27:10um maybe not so much a hierarchy but at
- 00:27:14least something to Aspire to so you know
- 00:27:18like on a god Consciousness yes yeah or
- 00:27:21a high Consciousness definitely feel it
- 00:27:24with the gongs yeah yeah yeah it like it
- 00:27:28cuts through your
- 00:27:30ego yeah all the nonsense it does and
- 00:27:34but and it brings a strength with it
- 00:27:35yeah I always feel after the end of that
- 00:27:39sequence always feel Qui okay I'm ready
- 00:27:42yeah yeah I'm I'm feeling really good
- 00:27:44and strong and yeah I can take whatever
- 00:27:47you throw at me bring it on yeah here we
- 00:27:49are yeah yeah yes yeah yeah yeah it is
- 00:27:54very interesting that it's um it's not
- 00:27:57threat
- 00:27:58in not in something where you feel oh my
- 00:28:02life is threatened no like if you were
- 00:28:05standing in the presence of a like a big
- 00:28:07cat or an elephant where you'd feel oh
- 00:28:10dear I'm in Strife yes no it's the
- 00:28:14opposite yeah yeah it's like it gives
- 00:28:17you strength exactly yeah yeah it's a
- 00:28:20very interesting thing um it's probably
- 00:28:23like standing in front of a a massive
- 00:28:26mountain m and looking at it with awe
- 00:28:30yes and thinking wow look how small I am
- 00:28:33but then it supports you where you go
- 00:28:36wow this is great yes I don't feel
- 00:28:38threatened I feel inspired exactly
- 00:28:41emboldened and brings you with it y yes
- 00:28:45yeah yeah it's very good big fan of the
- 00:28:48gongs yeah yeah um but you also came
- 00:28:51around uh closer to our heads with the
- 00:28:53tuning Forks yes and I could feel that
- 00:28:56CU I'm ready to get some dental work
- 00:28:59done and um no in a good way it actually
- 00:29:02I could feel exactly where work needs
- 00:29:06doing um and I could feel it relaxing
- 00:29:10the jaw around it yeah imagine if you
- 00:29:13had tuning fork work done before you had
- 00:29:16the dental work done oh yeah you could
- 00:29:17definitely do that yeah yeah absolutely
- 00:29:20yeah yeah just as a uh you know um you
- 00:29:24can get into a very very deep state
- 00:29:26where you probably wouldn't even need it
- 00:29:28any type of uh painkiller yeah yeah
- 00:29:32you'd need to do it for a while and
- 00:29:34you'd need to um be able to go very deep
- 00:29:37with it and I also had a bit of a
- 00:29:41headache that I've had for a while right
- 00:29:43and I've you know you know what part of
- 00:29:45the brain it is so when you were doing
- 00:29:48the tuning fork yeah it was highlighting
- 00:29:52the part of the brain but there was no
- 00:29:54pain right so that was I was very
- 00:29:58curious about that yeah so the the sound
- 00:30:01waves that you were Charming with were
- 00:30:05just kind of Rippling through it Y in a
- 00:30:08soothing way soothing way
- 00:30:11yeah yeah I guess what I've noticed for
- 00:30:14myself is that
- 00:30:16um pain is a is an indication that you
- 00:30:20know of course that there's an issue
- 00:30:22there that you got to take notice of and
- 00:30:24if you go into the pain it can Aid in
- 00:30:29relieving it yeah and so you don't
- 00:30:32suffer as much or you don't suffer at
- 00:30:35all yeah and it just merely becomes a a
- 00:30:40sensation a and it's not even you
- 00:30:43wouldn't even maybe label it pain then
- 00:30:45but I feel a
- 00:30:47sensation and it's a yeah and you become
- 00:30:50very aware of it
- 00:30:52um yeah relieving the suffering of pain
- 00:30:55is very very useful yeah very
- 00:30:59useful and so instead of you know going
- 00:31:01oh I have pain and wanting to run away
- 00:31:03you can go oh wow yeah pain oh this is
- 00:31:07excruciating yeah but I don't need to
- 00:31:09run away from it yeah yeah makes it very
- 00:31:12manageable totally manageable it's like
- 00:31:15I'm not saying that I had walked in with
- 00:31:17a excruciating headache no but um I
- 00:31:21don't feel anything there now yeah the
- 00:31:23neck yeah it sooth the neck issue out
- 00:31:26once again which keeps
- 00:31:29so yeah I'm loving it from that
- 00:31:32perspective fantastic fantastic yeah
- 00:31:36yeah that's good yeah
- 00:31:38um maybe it could be that
- 00:31:43um you know as
- 00:31:46you go about your
- 00:31:49week you know the old habits of stress
- 00:31:53creep back in and then you might find
- 00:31:56yourself um holding yourself in a way
- 00:31:59that increases the muscle tension
- 00:32:01definitely and um and then once that
- 00:32:04irritation occurs you might start to
- 00:32:07mentally fixate on it which might
- 00:32:09exacerbate it and you find the whole
- 00:32:12experience getting
- 00:32:14overwhelming
- 00:32:16yeah
- 00:32:18um you can use that as well you know if
- 00:32:22you if you allow it to if you can allow
- 00:32:26yourself to surrender to the pain
- 00:32:28it will back
- 00:32:30off um people generally do that when
- 00:32:33pain gets so excruciating that they
- 00:32:34can't handle it anymore and they have a
- 00:32:36little you know like a little
- 00:32:39moment and then they go oh well it can't
- 00:32:42get any worse than this and then they
- 00:32:44start to
- 00:32:46relax but I think um before that moment
- 00:32:49there's this fear of how bad is it going
- 00:32:51to
- 00:32:52get yes and that
- 00:32:54anticipation makes it worse yes yeah and
- 00:32:58once you've hit that threshold it's it's
- 00:33:01as bad as it can get and you go oh oh
- 00:33:05this is actually
- 00:33:06okay and then you
- 00:33:09relax so yeah it's a funny thing yeah so
- 00:33:14yeah
- 00:33:15running running towards pain rather than
- 00:33:18running away from it surrendering to it
- 00:33:21yeah not that you want to um look for it
- 00:33:25but yeah don't run from it yeah
- 00:33:29I'll try to keep it in mind
- 00:33:31yeah yeah sitting sitting down and
- 00:33:35um there is a headache trick that you
- 00:33:38can use and that is by uh relabeling the
- 00:33:43pain in different ways and then as you
- 00:33:46become more accustomed to describing the
- 00:33:48pain in lots of different ways you'll
- 00:33:51find it begins to
- 00:33:52lessen cuz you're not so much trying to
- 00:33:56run away from it you're more like this
- 00:33:57is interesting yeah so if you describe
- 00:34:01it as a color or a shape or you know
- 00:34:06does it feel warm or cool or rough or
- 00:34:09smooth yeah okay yeah yeah can start to
- 00:34:14diminish yeah I'll give that I'll try
- 00:34:17that yeah it's an interesting thing yes
- 00:34:19yeah yeah anything else coming up for
- 00:34:23you um just feeling very relaxed yeah
- 00:34:33um it did and it just felt lovely to be
- 00:34:36um supportive yeah it felt lovely yeah
- 00:34:41yeah yeah yeah of shell yeah yeah she
- 00:34:44was the guest yes if anybody's wondering
- 00:34:46who is this
- 00:34:49shell yeah yes and she went through uh
- 00:34:52this whole um experimental phase she
- 00:34:56went through the six weeks yes at the
- 00:34:58very beginning yes um
- 00:35:02and yeah it's just gone through a rough
- 00:35:05week so yeah get a little test yeah so
- 00:35:08we thought we'd try a a jewel soundbath
- 00:35:12session and see what that was like yes
- 00:35:15yeah yeah seems very successful for you
- 00:35:18I think it was pretty successful for
- 00:35:20Shell as well she looked pretty Bliss
- 00:35:21out she did she did yeah which is good
- 00:35:26yeah and um anything that you're looking
- 00:35:29forward to for the rest of the week now
- 00:35:31that you want to carry the sand bath
- 00:35:34into uh very definitely into my creative
- 00:35:38work yeah very clear on my um my pattern
- 00:35:44of work yeah so it has been forming over
- 00:35:48the last couple of weeks yeah and it's
- 00:35:51very doable now and it's
- 00:35:53very uh I've been um
- 00:35:57there's been a lot of stuff that I've
- 00:35:59had to do with the flood and with uh
- 00:36:02yeah Hospital stuff and yeah um
- 00:36:05different Health needs but I can carve
- 00:36:08out a good space and that's where I'm
- 00:36:11carrying this yeah great um and the
- 00:36:15creative work does involve uh nature so
- 00:36:20this whole process has been
- 00:36:22enriching um all all that I experience
- 00:36:26in nature so it's come out a beautiful
- 00:36:29time for my creative work yeah and I
- 00:36:31remember you
- 00:36:33saying uh pre bath we had a little chat
- 00:36:37before our first interview you were
- 00:36:39saying that after the soundbath colors
- 00:36:43and detail seems more vibrant yeah
- 00:36:45definitely yeah even the contrast from
- 00:36:49walking into the sand bath last week
- 00:36:51yeah um and then emerging out of the
- 00:36:55experience the colors in your garden
- 00:36:58there's a whole range of flowers as
- 00:37:00oranges and pastel pinks and and reds
- 00:37:04the Reds and pinks in the fuchia and
- 00:37:06they were all just so rich and vibrant
- 00:37:09yes um the greens are um iridescent
- 00:37:14greeny you know and on the way in it was
- 00:37:17it was just a lovely green garden and I
- 00:37:20was still admiring but everything was
- 00:37:23richer yeah
- 00:37:25um even the vibration in the air yep
- 00:37:30so it was impacting my senses in a way
- 00:37:34that it kind of on reflection I'm I had
- 00:37:38closed off some senses yes or that that
- 00:37:42level of depth yeah and that sound bath
- 00:37:46it's almost um yeah breathed space back
- 00:37:50into it yeah or um relaxed me enough to
- 00:37:56to be back into to the depth of it yes
- 00:37:59yeah opening up to the experience again
- 00:38:02it is a very interesting thing I found
- 00:38:05that you know when when I've become
- 00:38:08stressed um there's like a shutting down
- 00:38:11of the system and you become very Tunnel
- 00:38:14Vision on solving the issue at
- 00:38:17hand and then the world gets starts to
- 00:38:20become dark and around you because you
- 00:38:23don't really see you're not you're not
- 00:38:25concentrating on it you're just focused
- 00:38:27on the mental activity of this
- 00:38:30issue and then once that's gone the
- 00:38:32world seems bigger and brighter and it
- 00:38:36was a little bit shimmery as well yeah
- 00:38:40even the um a dragonfly buzzing through
- 00:38:42the air had a
- 00:38:44different
- 00:38:45yeah that you pick up on yes so yeah
- 00:38:50yeah
- 00:38:52um I would probably say it's uh similar
- 00:38:55to what someone would experience if they
- 00:38:57were on like um a psychedelic like
- 00:39:00mushrooms and they would probably say I
- 00:39:02am
- 00:39:06hallucinating um or I'm getting
- 00:39:09visuals and um I don't think that's the
- 00:39:13correct thing I think what it is is that
- 00:39:17what probably most people think is
- 00:39:18normal is actually dull senses yes and
- 00:39:23once you relax your senses
- 00:39:27you know become more you lighten up and
- 00:39:31you can sense
- 00:39:33more so uh yeah I think
- 00:39:37um normality for a lot of people is
- 00:39:40actually
- 00:39:41stress but because they're probably
- 00:39:44living with it on a daily basis they
- 00:39:47kind of think that this is the world yes
- 00:39:50they're swimming in it yeah but it's
- 00:39:53that classic joke you know the two the
- 00:39:56uh the young fish that are swimming
- 00:39:58along chatting to each other and the
- 00:40:00older one swims by and
- 00:40:02says
- 00:40:04uh isn't the water feeling great today
- 00:40:07yeah and as he swims by the other two
- 00:40:09look at each other and go what's water
- 00:40:15yeah you know we're oblivious to what
- 00:40:18we're swimming in until it's pointed out
- 00:40:20and it's like oh yeah yeah yeah we're
- 00:40:24all stressed we're all wound up we're
- 00:40:26all living like this is a normal yes
- 00:40:30absolutely um but yeah when you
- 00:40:33um when uh I
- 00:40:36remember listening to a podcast about
- 00:40:41cancer patients and a lot of cancer
- 00:40:44patients
- 00:40:46say uh when you when you know your time
- 00:40:49is up everything starts to become you
- 00:40:53appreciate everything and there's a a
- 00:40:56calmness that comes over you and you
- 00:40:59start to experience more of what's
- 00:41:02really going on and
- 00:41:05um and so they'll say it in a way that
- 00:41:10most people have no no idea what's going
- 00:41:13on yeah you're totally asleep to the
- 00:41:16real world yes and uh it's a bit sad
- 00:41:19that you have to get that sick you need
- 00:41:21to get to the point of where you're like
- 00:41:23life is going to end that you're
- 00:41:25actually going to start living exactly
- 00:41:28yeah you don't have
- 00:41:30to yeah can you get a shake up another
- 00:41:34way or yeah yeah yeah yeah without it
- 00:41:38being yeah um yeah anything else coming
- 00:41:43up for
- 00:41:54you resolve strength
- 00:41:58yeah
- 00:42:00um Clarity
- 00:42:05yeah deeper
- 00:42:10understanding and that I've spent I can
- 00:42:13see it clearly now looking back that
- 00:42:15I've spent decades in and I keep calling
- 00:42:19it an operating system yeah well that is
- 00:42:23it is it's like a Loretta 1.0
- 00:42:28yeah and I kept you know pushing back
- 00:42:32the updates it was like I've got enough
- 00:42:35on my plate I don't yeah I don't want an
- 00:42:37update I need an update right now um I
- 00:42:40don't want my system to crash yeah but
- 00:42:43you know when you put it off and put it
- 00:42:45off and then you finally do have to
- 00:42:46update yeah and your whole the computer
- 00:42:49says no big time this is yeah this is
- 00:42:53too much you you got to get all the
- 00:42:55other updates before you can do this
- 00:42:57leap yeah so I'm at that point saying
- 00:43:02probably should have should have should
- 00:43:04have should have done a whole heap of
- 00:43:06things yeah
- 00:43:09um I would have done well to do a
- 00:43:12meditation practice back in my 20s sure
- 00:43:16I would have done well to have um got
- 00:43:20rid of all the junk food in my 20s and
- 00:43:2230s yeah while doing jobs that were so
- 00:43:25stressful and always running to
- 00:43:27deadlines I was really jacking up my
- 00:43:30adrenals to a point that um on one level
- 00:43:34I was loving that that uh that drive
- 00:43:38yeah and that race absolutely that Rush
- 00:43:42yes and in your 20s you can deal with
- 00:43:44that yeah on a daily daily basis and um
- 00:43:48and still get through you know wake up
- 00:43:52the next day let's do it again and
- 00:43:53thrive on it yeah but uh you see
- 00:43:58doesn't enjoy that for a prolonged
- 00:44:01period so yes I should have updated the
- 00:44:04system back then for all that uh harsh
- 00:44:10High just quick paced living yeah
- 00:44:15um so now that
- 00:44:19Clarity um it is reminding me and it's
- 00:44:22actually just getting clear now this is
- 00:44:24this is a big change yeah yeah um and
- 00:44:27very conscious very aware of before and
- 00:44:32after yeah
- 00:44:34and that creative work that I'm I'm
- 00:44:37working on and building on I can see how
- 00:44:41it will virtually become a meditation
- 00:44:45practice within itself absolutely yeah
- 00:44:49so yeah what I was wanting to do you
- 00:44:52know how do I hold on to this and how do
- 00:44:54I merge the two it just becomes yes
- 00:44:59absolutely yeah yeah and it's just
- 00:45:02practice yeah yeah and you know from
- 00:45:05time to time you get a little test and
- 00:45:07you'll you'll struggle for a little bit
- 00:45:09and then you
- 00:45:11remember and then you'll come back and
- 00:45:13you'll be oh yeah okay that's good I
- 00:45:15still have to get the tuning fork so
- 00:45:17that I feel like those will be the
- 00:45:18little for for me personally I know that
- 00:45:22I need a um something physical and then
- 00:45:26the vi ation of it will bring me back to
- 00:45:30that that head space absolutely so my
- 00:45:34next investment will be three little
- 00:45:36tuning Forks into the pocket yeah that's
- 00:45:39it yeah it's just practice it's just
- 00:45:42practice if anybody out there is wanting
- 00:45:46a practice the simplest practice you can
- 00:45:49do is just do conscious
- 00:45:53breathing just remember that the only
- 00:45:56thing you need to do to keep yourself on
- 00:45:58the planet is
- 00:46:00breathe and so nice deep inhalation and
- 00:46:05exhalation through your
- 00:46:08nose and
- 00:46:10um if you keep that in
- 00:46:13check everything else is
- 00:46:16manageable but if
- 00:46:20you start
- 00:46:23overthinking and your breathing becomes
- 00:46:25shallow you you you you'll feel it yeah
- 00:46:30so yeah simplest thing and if you want
- 00:46:32to do a little upgrade on that just make
- 00:46:34sure on the exhale you do a little
- 00:46:37hum I love the hum I was doing that on
- 00:46:40the drivein yeah so that 21 minute hum
- 00:46:44yeah meditation yeah uh I still struggle
- 00:46:47with fitting that in yeah into the week
- 00:46:50and I I think there were two days there
- 00:46:53that I was able to do it y um but when
- 00:46:56I'm driving
- 00:46:57yeah I'm doing the hum now yeah that's
- 00:46:59it yeah yeah you can do the hum anytime
- 00:47:02anytime all day long if you wish yeah
- 00:47:05the hum is very useful yeah yeah I
- 00:47:07usually find
- 00:47:10that
- 00:47:12um that sometimes when I'm getting late
- 00:47:15into the afternoon and I'm getting
- 00:47:17tired um I'll actually notice it in my
- 00:47:21breathing and um it won't always come on
- 00:47:25like I'm getting tired it might be more
- 00:47:30like oh I can feel like a constriction
- 00:47:33around my chest it's only very slight
- 00:47:35it's only very minor it's slight
- 00:47:36irritation but it's just enough to make
- 00:47:38me go oh I'm becoming
- 00:47:41aware I'm not breathing properly yes and
- 00:47:45so once I start doing the humming and
- 00:47:47it's like oh yeah okay I can keep pace
- 00:47:51and I'll get my energy levels better
- 00:47:54yeah yeah yeah and if it gets too much
- 00:47:57and just lie down have a little sleep
- 00:47:59yeah yeah well it does put me off to
- 00:48:02sleep quickly yes I have noticed yeah
- 00:48:07just yeah with a in breath longer out
- 00:48:11breath with a hum yeah I'm just dropping
- 00:48:14off to sleep
- 00:48:15really
- 00:48:17easily and it was a struggle in the past
- 00:48:20so ah isn't that amazing so yeah yeah
- 00:48:24I'll keep going with those ones yes
- 00:48:27so a little demonstration of that if
- 00:48:29anyone's curious we're just going to do
- 00:48:31three breaths now a little hum at the
- 00:48:33end
- 00:48:35so just inhaling through your
- 00:48:42nose just
- 00:48:44as big a breath as you can manage and
- 00:48:47then when it's ready to Exhale you just
- 00:48:48hum
- 00:48:56you don't have to be in Pitch with me
- 00:48:58you can any any note will do we do
- 00:49:02another
- 00:49:06inhale and when you're ready to
- 00:49:08[Music]
- 00:49:17Exhale then one final
- 00:49:23inhalation just as big as deep as you
- 00:49:26can manage

- 00:49:55longer so if if you were to do 36
- 00:49:58breaths of that that won't take very
- 00:49:59long about 5 minutes you'll definitely
- 00:50:01feel a state change so yeah good to do
- 00:50:07that um whenever you're feeling you got
- 00:50:11your feathers R
- 00:50:13ruffled little stressed yeah yeah yeah
- 00:50:15good good to do that yeah and there's no
- 00:50:18issue there's like you can just keep
- 00:50:20doing it and doing it and doing it for
- 00:50:21as long as you
- 00:50:23like yeah it's good practice thanks man
