back thank you this is your fourth sound
  • 00:01:53
bath it is wow it's a bit of a turning
  • 00:01:55
point it I feel um yes yeah switch has
  • 00:02:00
been flicked amazing okay tell me about
  • 00:02:04
that uh just a I suppose a realization
  • 00:02:09
um that there is a a clear choice that
  • 00:02:13
what I was trying to reconcile with um I
  • 00:02:16
suppose when I walk out of an experience
  • 00:02:19
    like the soundbath yeah
  • 00:02:22
um and when I try to bring it back into
  • 00:02:25
my normal dayto days yeah and have the
  • 00:02:29
to magically just meld together and and
  • 00:02:33
work as one I was finding that really
  • 00:02:36
    challenging Y and I had a realization
  • 00:02:40
it's only a day or two ago
  • 00:02:45
that this one this the one that I've
  • 00:02:48
    been living for
  • 00:02:50
decades um doesn't gel well with being
  • 00:02:54
told to sort of change its way the
  • 00:02:57
pattern is strong yes um it's quite
  • 00:02:59
solid it's a welln track yes and uh I'm
  • 00:03:04
telling it to you know sort of come on
  • 00:03:06
change your ways you got to got to
  • 00:03:08
soften up those edges and do this and do
  • 00:03:10
that but I feel like I have to accept
  • 00:03:14
I've got to let that go yeah I have to
  • 00:03:19
actually change that whole format yes I
  • 00:03:23
was trying to adapt and do a little bit
  • 00:03:26
of a half half you know one foot in one
  • 00:03:28
Camp one foot in the other and say I'm
  • 00:03:31
sure this is going to work yeah I'm sure
  • 00:03:34
but no I actually now think all the all
  • 00:03:37
the um beautiful patterns that are now
  • 00:03:40
part of my life that I do crave the
  • 00:03:43
healthy eating uh the good sleeping
  • 00:03:46
routines um better ways of communicating
  • 00:03:50
a whole range of healthier ways yeah uh
  • 00:03:53
are a great framework yeah which I will
  • 00:03:57
stay with Y um but were maintenance for
  • 00:04:01
    a very
  • 00:04:03
stressful life yeah they were just
  • 00:04:06
keeping everything just okay like yeah
  • 00:04:09
yeah and they did get me through yeah
  • 00:04:14
    but I've
  • 00:04:14
realized a lot more of that framework
  • 00:04:17
has to crumble away yeah so that
  • 00:04:21
    includes certain reactions yeah to
  • 00:04:24
stresses in life yeah um certain
  • 00:04:27
patterns of that RAC energy not doing me
  • 00:04:31
any favors yeah uh and that's that's
  • 00:04:34
hard that's that's a really hard one in
  • 00:04:36
living in Melbourne and it's you have to
  • 00:04:39
    navigate through always congested
  • 00:04:42
traffic at this point cuz we're going
  • 00:04:44
    through a big
  • 00:04:45
change um High demands on time of
  • 00:04:49
    expectations of
  • 00:04:52
um quick we need this and you got to get
  • 00:04:56
so just the physical demands but also I
  • 00:04:59
suppose even on a um on communication
  • 00:05:03
levels of you know quick response to I
  • 00:05:05
    sent you that yesterday yeah
  • 00:05:08
    or I I texted you and I haven't heard
  • 00:05:10
back or all those Next Level
  • 00:05:13
expectations that we've all got Lay It
  • 00:05:16
Up on what we're already doing so it's
  • 00:05:18
made for a very um stressy tense yes way
  • 00:05:23
of living and I've just realized I have
  • 00:05:27
    to change it all up
  • 00:05:30
    yeah yeah so the soundbath
  • 00:05:35
approach it's interesting how week one
  • 00:05:38
week two week three taught me some
  • 00:05:40
things and week one was the biggest
  • 00:05:45
realization that I can come back to a
  • 00:05:48
    state that is quite
  • 00:05:51
    um it's
  • 00:05:53
small going back to who I am the core of
  • 00:05:56
who I am yeah and it had a lot of that
  • 00:05:59
child like me held in in that lovely
  • 00:06:04
golden um way that I went through the
  • 00:06:06
afternoon yep and I was navigating
  • 00:06:08
    through the hospital and every
  • 00:06:10
interaction was just sweet yeah every
  • 00:06:15
not it lost the coarseness and the
  • 00:06:18
harshness that I've you know experienced
  • 00:06:21
days and days before yeah and and it
  • 00:06:25
felt so golden like in it's such a
  • 00:06:27
stressful time you know hb's there in a
  • 00:06:30
hospital bed and where not knowing
  • 00:06:32
what's happening with his heart and
  • 00:06:34
having to wait for uh surgeons to to
  • 00:06:38
inform us and and nurses to um take care
  • 00:06:41
of the day to day so it was on that
  • 00:06:44
level it should have been very stressful
  • 00:06:46
that afternoon like you'd be having a
  • 00:06:48
meltdown right absolutely I would have
  • 00:06:50
been having a meltdown yes all the the
  • 00:06:53
you know you're flooded with all the
  • 00:06:55
what if this what if that's going on but
  • 00:06:58
it was anything but and it was um a
  • 00:07:02
    level of golden
  • 00:07:05
sweetness and I thought geez if you live
  • 00:07:07
like this all the time if how could that
  • 00:07:11
be possible so it does it was a reminder
  • 00:07:14
of a way of being yes and not
  • 00:07:17
necessarily being you know forever a
  • 00:07:20
child in the world and because we've got
  • 00:07:23
    responsibilities we've got things that
  • 00:07:25
you still have to uh do you just still
  • 00:07:30
need to eat right yeah exactly and
  • 00:07:32
    everything that's involved with getting
  • 00:07:34
that meal onto the table so it's like
  • 00:07:37
um I thought is is there a way and it it
  • 00:07:41
stayed with me all all afternoon into
  • 00:07:44
that night for the next day
  • 00:07:47
or yeah the next couple of
  • 00:07:51
days the second soundbath yeah opposite
  • 00:07:55
right when I came home yeah and
  • 00:07:59
    and there was
  • 00:08:01
a situation where it was uh such a tense
  • 00:08:06
issue with my husband and we it was a
  • 00:08:09
flare up and a whole range and it just
  • 00:08:12
shook me out of that Golden State
  • 00:08:15
    straight away
  • 00:08:18
yeah in within that was a lesson that in
  • 00:08:22
in reflection I didn't have to let go of
  • 00:08:25
that state yeah I actually gave into
  • 00:08:31
    the opposite yeah
  • 00:08:33
and you know the natural way of
  • 00:08:36
interacting in that scenario I felt for
  • 00:08:39
that I just went into the old style of
  • 00:08:43
um I suppose that com combative um you
  • 00:08:48
know one versus one yeah that kind of
  • 00:08:52
thing going on and then so that that
  • 00:08:56
state didn't last long enough but I
  • 00:08:58
still was able to you know sort of get
  • 00:09:01
back to okay all right got through that
  • 00:09:05
now get into my creative practice now do
  • 00:09:07
this I have to and I was able to sort of
  • 00:09:10
tap back into it here and there through
  • 00:09:11
the week the third one a similar
  • 00:09:15
situation happened yep when I came home
  • 00:09:18
yep but this time rather than
  • 00:09:21
allowing um myself to hook into an
  • 00:09:25
argument I I chose to stand still and
  • 00:09:29
and and see it as this is not about me
  • 00:09:34
yep I can see this clearly this time
  • 00:09:36
yeah yeah I'm in a different framework
  • 00:09:41
I'm it's almost like two different
  • 00:09:44
    operating systems that aren't working
  • 00:09:46
    together anymore yes
  • 00:09:49
and I totally understood both of our
  • 00:09:54
perspectives but I just said once the
  • 00:09:57
dust settles I really want to talk this
  • 00:09:58
through yeah but right now it's not
  • 00:10:01
going to do either of us any favors if
  • 00:10:03
we go um yeah Toe to Toe on it yeah so
  • 00:10:09
it's interesting how the three weeks
  • 00:10:11
that's taught me that level of choice to
  • 00:10:15
stay within something that you know is
  • 00:10:19
nourishing to your system you know and
  • 00:10:21
understand it deeply how it's um
  • 00:10:25
something to cultivate and uh that's
  • 00:10:29
that's the clarity I'm now getting that
  • 00:10:32
um I was clinging on to a a an operating
  • 00:10:35
system that for me now it's outdated cuz
  • 00:10:39
it's not going to do well for me if I
  • 00:10:41
keep going like that over the next even
  • 00:10:44
the next 5 years it will set me up so
  • 00:10:47
poorly for old age yeah I will be
  • 00:10:51
so tight and sore and yeah
  • 00:10:56
um just in a very uncomfortable way of
  • 00:11:00
    navigating through the world
  • 00:11:03
yes to make the decision now to not want
  • 00:11:06
that I can see how I can choose the
  • 00:11:09
other path yeah and it does
  • 00:11:11
include the the way that I'm eating it
  • 00:11:14
    does
  • 00:11:15
include uh the different sleeping habits
  • 00:11:19
and other healthier habits yeah um but
  • 00:11:22
it also needs to have bought within a
  • 00:11:27
    proper Embrace of that
  • 00:11:29
    vibrational understanding of when it's
  • 00:11:32
getting thrown off kilter that I'm very
  • 00:11:35
conscious of it and I'm confident enough
  • 00:11:37
that I can pull back into um protecting
  • 00:11:40
that y with that and that's not saying
  • 00:11:44
ah you're just going to detached to
  • 00:11:45
Fairyland it's not that at all it's just
  • 00:11:47
saying no you actually be more grounded
  • 00:11:50
more grounded more there more present
  • 00:11:53
more present yeah present more aware yes
  • 00:11:57
yeah Less in your head less stuck in
  • 00:11:59
    fear yes
  • 00:12:01
yeah and therefore leading to less aggro
  • 00:12:05
cuz the previous one hooks me into such
  • 00:12:09
    a state of aggravation like
  • 00:12:13
    anger seething because I'm not
  • 00:12:16
    understood y or I'm misunderstood or I'm
  • 00:12:23
um trying to prove myself or any of that
  • 00:12:27
kind of energy it's just not me anymore
  • 00:12:30
    I don't want that anymore
  • 00:12:32
yeah I I'm now accepting who I am yeah
  • 00:12:38
what I'm about yeah and when I had that
  • 00:12:40
sort of Golden State when I in the first
  • 00:12:43
    after the first soundbath walking
  • 00:12:44
through that hospital it it was the core
  • 00:12:47
of me walking through there it was a
  • 00:12:49
lovely go like the the charm yeah uh the
  • 00:12:54
Kinder version of me and I need to
  • 00:12:57
    cultivate
  • 00:12:59
and remind myself that she's she's so
  • 00:13:03
there yeah yeah yeah exactly exactly yes
  • 00:13:07
    I guess the I guess
  • 00:13:09
maybe um the way I see it is
  • 00:13:12
that uh say pre sambath there's a real
  • 00:13:16
need to feel close to other people and
  • 00:13:20
um there's tissues behind you if you
  • 00:13:22
wish um and uh and that closeness is
  • 00:13:28
like you might say I need to feel
  • 00:13:30
love but you forget that well you are
  • 00:13:33
love you you your whole being is made of
  • 00:13:36
love you can't fit in any more love even
  • 00:13:39
if you tried even if you know someone
  • 00:13:41
gave you you know yeah I haven't thought
  • 00:13:44
of that course yeah yeah a track load of
  • 00:13:46
love you where would you put it
  • 00:13:48
yeah yeah so you're as big as you're
  • 00:13:51
going to get and when you feel that
  • 00:13:54
amount of love then what comes from that
  • 00:13:57
is you don't need to play someone else's
  • 00:14:02
puppet M you don't need to be cuz what
  • 00:14:06
happens as we all do is that we put each
  • 00:14:09
other in boxes you know we look at each
  • 00:14:13
other and we say oh yeah you're a female
  • 00:14:16
of this age of this class of this you
  • 00:14:20
know culture whatever and then you start
  • 00:14:23
making guesses oh yeah this is what I'm
  • 00:14:25
going to get out of you and if I don't
  • 00:14:28
I'm going to be a little bit uh maybe
  • 00:14:31
afraid because I it it will be going
  • 00:14:33
beyond the box that I've put you in yes
  • 00:14:37
so exactly and we do that to everyone
  • 00:14:41
that we're around you know like I'll do
  • 00:14:43
it to my wife my wife will do it to me
  • 00:14:46
and um and I'll expect my wife to behave
  • 00:14:48
a particular way she's my wife and if
  • 00:14:51
she doesn't behave like my wife I'll get
  • 00:14:54
disappointed because I'll say this is
  • 00:14:55
not the wife that I want
  • 00:14:59
which is totally ridiculous that whole
  • 00:15:01
thing is just putting each other in
  • 00:15:03
boxes yes and um when you step away from
  • 00:15:08
that and you go you know what I don't
  • 00:15:10
need to put anyone in a box exactly and
  • 00:15:13
and then I also don't need to behave in
  • 00:15:16
someone else's box the way they want me
  • 00:15:19
to behave I like that you mentioned that
  • 00:15:21
yeah exactly and it's not that you then
  • 00:15:25
become distant it's just that you
  • 00:15:30
can be more at peace with the way people
  • 00:15:32
are because you go oh I see you're just
  • 00:15:36
confused there the way you think I am
  • 00:15:38
yes and that's okay I'm just I'm just
  • 00:15:40
not playing that role yeah and if you're
  • 00:15:43
getting upset about that that that's
  • 00:15:45
okay that's not me that's just something
  • 00:15:47
for you to learn yeah it's a projection
  • 00:15:50
it's a projection yeah yeah so but I
  • 00:15:55
think um probably what what what I used
  • 00:15:58
to do was that I would want people to be
  • 00:16:03
maintained within the boxes that I
  • 00:16:05
created for them and I would want to be
  • 00:16:08
liked so I'd be happily playing
  • 00:16:11
someone's version of me yeah yes but
  • 00:16:15
    it's just doesn't it's not possible
  • 00:16:17
because oh yeah it's so restrictive
  • 00:16:19
people's boxes change all the time and
  • 00:16:21
you don't always know you know like how
  • 00:16:24
do you want me to behave
  • 00:16:26
I'm I thought I was doing all the right
  • 00:16:29
things but now now you've changed and I
  • 00:16:32
don't know how to behave yes and that's
  • 00:16:36
right up in your face when you um the
  • 00:16:38
family Dynamics with you know the
  • 00:16:40
brothers and sisters you've grown up
  • 00:16:42
with yeah and you know you all go on
  • 00:16:45
your own different paths and whenever
  • 00:16:46
you come back together a lot of them are
  • 00:16:48
like what you know you you're this and
  • 00:16:52
I'm like no I'm not I never was yeah
  • 00:16:55
yeah in your mind may be many years ago
  • 00:16:58
but not anymore or maybe not even then
  • 00:17:02
yeah yeah it was just this little box
  • 00:17:04
set of expectations because of the
  • 00:17:06
gender role or because of the age cuz
  • 00:17:09
you you know I'm the older one and
  • 00:17:11
that's right you're my little sister and
  • 00:17:13
all that sort of stuff going on like a
  • 00:17:15
    little
  • 00:17:17
sister so yeah but yeah it is that funny
  • 00:17:20
thing um there are you know like
  • 00:17:25
    certain um points that are
  • 00:17:30
like I know when I get together with um
  • 00:17:32
my brothers that yeah there there still
  • 00:17:35
is some of this role playing yeah and
  • 00:17:37
you're not aware of it until it comes
  • 00:17:38
    right up in your
  • 00:17:40
    face like around Christmas Yeah
  • 00:17:42
Christmas yeah yeah the I think a
  • 00:17:45
hospital emergency is the uh overrun
  • 00:17:48
with broken noses apparently that's the
  • 00:17:51
    the stat
  • 00:17:53
    [Music]
  • 00:17:54
yeah yeah so and uh you wouldn't be
  • 00:17:58
expecting adults to be breaking noses
  • 00:18:01
you'd probably think that would probably
  • 00:18:02
    come from you know like
  • 00:18:06
teenagers um but no adults behaving like
  • 00:18:10
teenagers yeah yeah still stuck in their
  • 00:18:13
    teenage box yeah yeah so
  • 00:18:18
um so yeah it's an interesting thing to
  • 00:18:25
    feel
  • 00:18:26
very loved by yourself and to feel that
  • 00:18:30
love and feel very settled and very calm
  • 00:18:32
and go oh you know what I don't need
  • 00:18:35
anyone to give me this I've already got
  • 00:18:39
    it yeah I've already got
  • 00:18:42
it not I'm not fully there but I'm just
  • 00:18:46
    yeah
  • 00:18:48
just yeah yeah yeah you just need to
  • 00:18:50
keep returning to it yeah I mean that's
  • 00:18:53
that's the thing that we all need to do
  • 00:18:55
every day keep returning to it and go oh
  • 00:18:57
    yeah that's right
  • 00:18:59
I'm totally whole I'm not missing
  • 00:19:02
anything yeah yeah yeah yeah that new
  • 00:19:06
watch is not going to make me feel new
  • 00:19:08
more complete yeah yeah this car is not
  • 00:19:12
going to make me feel more than not
  • 00:19:14
having the car yeah all of these things
  • 00:19:18
that we project onto people even you
  • 00:19:20
know you might think I'd really like to
  • 00:19:22
ask this person out on a date and if
  • 00:19:24
they don't agree then I'll feel like my
  • 00:19:27
    confidence has been shattered that's
  • 00:19:30
    just a projection yeah yeah
  • 00:19:34
um so yeah when you feel totally loved
  • 00:19:38
by yourself it's very fing very fing
  • 00:19:43
yeah yeah it's very good well we should
  • 00:19:47
go experience some of that now right we
  • 00:19:49
should okay let's go for it
  • 00:19:52
    [Music]
  • 00:19:55
okay imagine a moment carved out just
  • 00:19:58
for you reclined in gentle Stillness you
  • 00:20:02
are cradled by waves of pure resonant
  • 00:20:05
tones to beton singing balls gongs and
  • 00:20:08
Chimes weaving their magic each sound
  • 00:20:12
becomes a loving Embrace reaching into
  • 00:20:14
the deepest corners of your being
  • 00:20:16
    dissolving tension and inviting Serenity
  • 00:20:20
in this Sacred Space the outside world
  • 00:20:23
melts away the chatter of the Mind
  • 00:20:25
quiets replaced by the soft hum of heart
  • 00:20:28
Harmony flowing through you it's not
  • 00:20:30
    just an escape it's a homecoming a
  • 00:20:34
reminder of your innate balance strength
  • 00:20:37
and connection to the infinite here
  • 00:20:40
relaxation is just the beginning a sound
  • 00:20:43
bath is a radiant pause in life's Rhythm
  • 00:20:46
    offering renewal Clarity and peace
  • 00:20:50
whether you're seeking a moment of
  • 00:20:52
Stillness or a deeper connection to
  • 00:20:54
yourself this is your time step through
  • 00:20:57
the doorway and let the whispers of the
  • 00:20:59
universe guide you back to your Center
  • 00:21:01
this is your invitation to a lot this is
  • 00:21:05
your invitation to realign recharge and
  • 00:21:08
remember the essence of who you are well
  • 00:21:12
yeah welcome back Loretta this is post
  • 00:21:14
soundbath that is it is yeah so that was
  • 00:21:18
a bit of a different one today cuz we
  • 00:21:19
had a we had a guest with us we did yeah
  • 00:21:23
so you had a tandem sand bath yeah a
  • 00:21:25
unique experience yeah yeah usually I do
  • 00:21:29
    a lot of group
  • 00:21:30
SBS so you know up to 35 people or
  • 00:21:34
whatnot and um so but I always think
  • 00:21:37
    that the individual soundbath should
  • 00:21:39
probably go a little bit deeper yes um
  • 00:21:42
but yeah I'm wondering what it was like
  • 00:21:44
    just the two of
  • 00:21:45
you um I'm still I starting to think of
  • 00:21:49
how that felt different and definitely
  • 00:21:54
um the presence of someone else next to
  • 00:21:57
you in the early stages yeah and even at
  • 00:22:01
the beginning when sh was giggling she
  • 00:22:03
said you know it's like having a
  • 00:22:05
sleepover when I was nine and it was
  • 00:22:08
kind of that set me in a good state in
  • 00:22:12
terms of framing it of getting back to
  • 00:22:15
an Essence that I'm I'm really happy to
  • 00:22:18
to touch base again with yeah so it set
  • 00:22:21
the tone for me I don't know how that
  • 00:22:23
works for shelle but um and then as your
  • 00:22:27
sequence progressed yeah um it was just
  • 00:22:31
like a normal sound bath yeah oh that's
  • 00:22:34
good previous ones there was no
  • 00:22:38
    no self-consciousness or interference in
  • 00:22:41
any way it was just lovely just bathing
  • 00:22:45
in the the resonance that was waving
  • 00:22:47
through yeah yeah it is a funny thing
  • 00:22:50
when you're when you're around here
  • 00:22:51
there's a certain amount of that animal
  • 00:22:53
instinct to to be protective you know
  • 00:22:56
like oh I don't want to offend someone
  • 00:22:59
or I I don't want to have them interfere
  • 00:23:03
with me in any way and yeah this just
  • 00:23:06
    that awareness
  • 00:23:09
    of
  • 00:23:11
um maybe protecting your own experience
  • 00:23:16
yes yeah that's it that's it but no it
  • 00:23:19
just melted away um so I think your
  • 00:23:23
tuning Forks at the beginning there the
  • 00:23:25
lovely tuning Forks that started to
  • 00:23:28
remind me just to um sort of catch those
  • 00:23:33
waves rolling through and Y that stopped
  • 00:23:37
any any other conversations that were
  • 00:23:39
going on in my head or any other any
  • 00:23:41
other concerns yeah yeah what I at least
  • 00:23:46
what I find for myself is that you know
  • 00:23:49
the chatter is always always there but
  • 00:23:51
it's how much you engage with it you
  • 00:23:53
know that mental chatter yes and um the
  • 00:23:56
mental chatter is very good at knowing
  • 00:23:58
    your we spots
  • 00:24:00
yeah and so we'll dredge up something
  • 00:24:03
that we be like oh have you not thought
  • 00:24:04
    about
  • 00:24:05
this well I had less chatter than any of
  • 00:24:10
the sessions wow that's great yeah
  • 00:24:14
fantastic very happy to relax and I even
  • 00:24:17
thought um in that early stage because
  • 00:24:21
this is a morning session normally I do
  • 00:24:22
an afternoon session with you yes uh I
  • 00:24:25
was in a different um state of aess yes
  • 00:24:29
so the previous ones I do drop off to
  • 00:24:31
sleep and I have ended up in that
  • 00:24:33
embarrassing snoring state but this time
  • 00:24:37
I stayed with it for a long time yeah
  • 00:24:40
and only just I think just for a
  • 00:24:42
    fraction of a moment dropped
  • 00:24:44
off at the tail end of one of the gong
  • 00:24:47
sequences yes but um I pretty much was
  • 00:24:52
was there enjoying that whole range yeah
  • 00:24:56
yeah I had noticed that cuz i' been
  • 00:24:58
looking up from time to time trying to
  • 00:25:00
figure out right one of you has dropped
  • 00:25:02
    off who is it
  • 00:25:04
    [Laughter]
  • 00:25:06
yeah and uh yeah it's it's yeah
  • 00:25:10
interesting you know I guess what I'm
  • 00:25:12
looking for as a sound bath practitioner
  • 00:25:16
is has you're breathing oh okay yeah I'm
  • 00:25:20
looking at you know the rise and fall of
  • 00:25:22
tummy's diaphragms just to go right so
  • 00:25:25
is it getting longer is it getting
  • 00:25:27
    deeper or is it
  • 00:25:30
quickening um that's an indication if
  • 00:25:34
there's a you know sometimes people find
  • 00:25:36
that when there's particular bow played
  • 00:25:39
it can spark something just like a small
  • 00:25:41
amount of irritation or whatnot or I
  • 00:25:43
    might be hitting some
  • 00:25:46
some aspect that's reminding you of
  • 00:25:49
something I did notice that yeah so
  • 00:25:53
those gongs went into a really big deep
  • 00:25:57
sequence and I loved it it's very
  • 00:25:59
cinematic for me it's it's like almost
  • 00:26:02
    uh
  • 00:26:03
um um not Star Wars but
  • 00:26:09
um what's the other big one it's like
  • 00:26:12
Star Wars oh where it's uh is it
  • 00:26:16
Skywalker and yeah yeah yeah yeah so um
  • 00:26:20
that very out in far into space yes very
  • 00:26:24
big deep energy um and then
  • 00:26:28
there was one particular bowl that I
  • 00:26:30
    thought now that actually resonates
  • 00:26:33
really differently in my head to
  • 00:26:35
something more British and royal family
  • 00:26:39
    they're set at a different s of
  • 00:26:41
vibration yeah and every time that was
  • 00:26:44
    struck I kept thinking that's that's
  • 00:26:47
Regal but it's not Tibetan depth Regal
  • 00:26:51
    it's it's monarchy it's
  • 00:26:54
um sort of a different yeah yeah yeah
  • 00:26:59
it's a bit like I guess for me it's like
  • 00:27:01
trying to get to some Purity that you
  • 00:27:05
connect with that you can understand on
  • 00:27:09
    a
  • 00:27:10
um maybe not so much a hierarchy but at
  • 00:27:14
least something to Aspire to so you know
  • 00:27:18
like on a god Consciousness yes yeah or
  • 00:27:21
a high Consciousness definitely feel it
  • 00:27:24
with the gongs yeah yeah yeah it like it
  • 00:27:28
    cuts through your
  • 00:27:30
ego yeah all the nonsense it does and
  • 00:27:34
but and it brings a strength with it
  • 00:27:35
yeah I always feel after the end of that
  • 00:27:39
sequence always feel Qui okay I'm ready
  • 00:27:42
yeah yeah I'm I'm feeling really good
  • 00:27:44
and strong and yeah I can take whatever
  • 00:27:47
you throw at me bring it on yeah here we
  • 00:27:49
are yeah yeah yes yeah yeah yeah it is
  • 00:27:54
very interesting that it's um it's not
  • 00:27:57
    threat
  • 00:27:58
in not in something where you feel oh my
  • 00:28:02
life is threatened no like if you were
  • 00:28:05
standing in the presence of a like a big
  • 00:28:07
cat or an elephant where you'd feel oh
  • 00:28:10
dear I'm in Strife yes no it's the
  • 00:28:14
opposite yeah yeah it's like it gives
  • 00:28:17
you strength exactly yeah yeah it's a
  • 00:28:20
very interesting thing um it's probably
  • 00:28:23
like standing in front of a a massive
  • 00:28:26
mountain m and looking at it with awe
  • 00:28:30
yes and thinking wow look how small I am
  • 00:28:33
but then it supports you where you go
  • 00:28:36
wow this is great yes I don't feel
  • 00:28:38
    threatened I feel inspired exactly
  • 00:28:41
emboldened and brings you with it y yes
  • 00:28:45
yeah yeah it's very good big fan of the
  • 00:28:48
gongs yeah yeah um but you also came
  • 00:28:51
around uh closer to our heads with the
  • 00:28:53
tuning Forks yes and I could feel that
  • 00:28:56
CU I'm ready to get some dental work
  • 00:28:59
done and um no in a good way it actually
  • 00:29:02
I could feel exactly where work needs
  • 00:29:06
doing um and I could feel it relaxing
  • 00:29:10
the jaw around it yeah imagine if you
  • 00:29:13
had tuning fork work done before you had
  • 00:29:16
the dental work done oh yeah you could
  • 00:29:17
definitely do that yeah yeah absolutely
  • 00:29:20
yeah yeah just as a uh you know um you
  • 00:29:24
can get into a very very deep state
  • 00:29:26
where you probably wouldn't even need it
  • 00:29:28
any type of uh painkiller yeah yeah
  • 00:29:32
you'd need to do it for a while and
  • 00:29:34
you'd need to um be able to go very deep
  • 00:29:37
with it and I also had a bit of a
  • 00:29:41
headache that I've had for a while right
  • 00:29:43
and I've you know you know what part of
  • 00:29:45
the brain it is so when you were doing
  • 00:29:48
the tuning fork yeah it was highlighting
  • 00:29:52
the part of the brain but there was no
  • 00:29:54
pain right so that was I was very
  • 00:29:58
curious about that yeah so the the sound
  • 00:30:01
waves that you were Charming with were
  • 00:30:05
just kind of Rippling through it Y in a
  • 00:30:08
    soothing way soothing way
  • 00:30:11
yeah yeah I guess what I've noticed for
  • 00:30:14
    myself is that
  • 00:30:16
um pain is a is an indication that you
  • 00:30:20
know of course that there's an issue
  • 00:30:22
there that you got to take notice of and
  • 00:30:24
if you go into the pain it can Aid in
  • 00:30:29
relieving it yeah and so you don't
  • 00:30:32
suffer as much or you don't suffer at
  • 00:30:35
all yeah and it just merely becomes a a
  • 00:30:40
sensation a and it's not even you
  • 00:30:43
wouldn't even maybe label it pain then
  • 00:30:45
    but I feel a
  • 00:30:47
sensation and it's a yeah and you become
  • 00:30:50
    very aware of it
  • 00:30:52
um yeah relieving the suffering of pain
  • 00:30:55
is very very useful yeah very
  • 00:30:59
useful and so instead of you know going
  • 00:31:01
oh I have pain and wanting to run away
  • 00:31:03
you can go oh wow yeah pain oh this is
  • 00:31:07
excruciating yeah but I don't need to
  • 00:31:09
run away from it yeah yeah makes it very
  • 00:31:12
    manageable totally manageable it's like
  • 00:31:15
I'm not saying that I had walked in with
  • 00:31:17
a excruciating headache no but um I
  • 00:31:21
don't feel anything there now yeah the
  • 00:31:23
neck yeah it sooth the neck issue out
  • 00:31:26
    once again which keeps
  • 00:31:29
so yeah I'm loving it from that
  • 00:31:32
    perspective fantastic fantastic yeah
  • 00:31:36
    yeah that's good yeah
  • 00:31:38
um maybe it could be that
  • 00:31:43
    um you know as
  • 00:31:46
    you go about your
  • 00:31:49
week you know the old habits of stress
  • 00:31:53
creep back in and then you might find
  • 00:31:56
yourself um holding yourself in a way
  • 00:31:59
    that increases the muscle tension
  • 00:32:01
definitely and um and then once that
  • 00:32:04
irritation occurs you might start to
  • 00:32:07
mentally fixate on it which might
  • 00:32:09
exacerbate it and you find the whole
  • 00:32:12
    experience getting
  • 00:32:14
    overwhelming
  • 00:32:16
    yeah
  • 00:32:18
um you can use that as well you know if
  • 00:32:22
you if you allow it to if you can allow
  • 00:32:26
yourself to surrender to the pain
  • 00:32:28
    it will back
  • 00:32:30
off um people generally do that when
  • 00:32:33
pain gets so excruciating that they
  • 00:32:34
can't handle it anymore and they have a
  • 00:32:36
little you know like a little
  • 00:32:39
moment and then they go oh well it can't
  • 00:32:42
get any worse than this and then they
  • 00:32:44
    start to
  • 00:32:46
relax but I think um before that moment
  • 00:32:49
there's this fear of how bad is it going
  • 00:32:51
    to
  • 00:32:52
    get yes and that
  • 00:32:54
anticipation makes it worse yes yeah and
  • 00:32:58
    once you've hit that threshold it's it's
  • 00:33:01
as bad as it can get and you go oh oh
  • 00:33:05
    this is actually
  • 00:33:06
    okay and then you
  • 00:33:09
relax so yeah it's a funny thing yeah so
  • 00:33:14
    yeah
  • 00:33:15
running running towards pain rather than
  • 00:33:18
running away from it surrendering to it
  • 00:33:21
yeah not that you want to um look for it
  • 00:33:25
but yeah don't run from it yeah
  • 00:33:29
I'll try to keep it in mind
  • 00:33:31
yeah yeah sitting sitting down and
  • 00:33:35
um there is a headache trick that you
  • 00:33:38
can use and that is by uh relabeling the
  • 00:33:43
pain in different ways and then as you
  • 00:33:46
become more accustomed to describing the
  • 00:33:48
pain in lots of different ways you'll
  • 00:33:51
    find it begins to
  • 00:33:52
lessen cuz you're not so much trying to
  • 00:33:56
run away from it you're more like this
  • 00:33:57
is interesting yeah so if you describe
  • 00:34:01
it as a color or a shape or you know
  • 00:34:06
does it feel warm or cool or rough or
  • 00:34:09
smooth yeah okay yeah yeah can start to
  • 00:34:14
diminish yeah I'll give that I'll try
  • 00:34:17
that yeah it's an interesting thing yes
  • 00:34:19
yeah yeah anything else coming up for
  • 00:34:23
you um just feeling very relaxed yeah
  • 00:34:33
um it did and it just felt lovely to be
  • 00:34:36
um supportive yeah it felt lovely yeah
  • 00:34:41
yeah yeah yeah of shell yeah yeah she
  • 00:34:44
was the guest yes if anybody's wondering
  • 00:34:46
    who is this
  • 00:34:49
shell yeah yes and she went through uh
  • 00:34:52
this whole um experimental phase she
  • 00:34:56
went through the six weeks yes at the
  • 00:34:58
    very beginning yes um
  • 00:35:02
and yeah it's just gone through a rough
  • 00:35:05
week so yeah get a little test yeah so
  • 00:35:08
we thought we'd try a a jewel soundbath
  • 00:35:12
session and see what that was like yes
  • 00:35:15
yeah yeah seems very successful for you
  • 00:35:18
I think it was pretty successful for
  • 00:35:20
Shell as well she looked pretty Bliss
  • 00:35:21
out she did she did yeah which is good
  • 00:35:26
yeah and um anything that you're looking
  • 00:35:29
forward to for the rest of the week now
  • 00:35:31
that you want to carry the sand bath
  • 00:35:34
into uh very definitely into my creative
  • 00:35:38
work yeah very clear on my um my pattern
  • 00:35:44
of work yeah so it has been forming over
  • 00:35:48
the last couple of weeks yeah and it's
  • 00:35:51
    very doable now and it's
  • 00:35:53
    very uh I've been um
  • 00:35:57
there's been a lot of stuff that I've
  • 00:35:59
had to do with the flood and with uh
  • 00:36:02
yeah Hospital stuff and yeah um
  • 00:36:05
different Health needs but I can carve
  • 00:36:08
out a good space and that's where I'm
  • 00:36:11
carrying this yeah great um and the
  • 00:36:15
creative work does involve uh nature so
  • 00:36:20
    this whole process has been
  • 00:36:22
enriching um all all that I experience
  • 00:36:26
in nature so it's come out a beautiful
  • 00:36:29
time for my creative work yeah and I
  • 00:36:31
    remember you
  • 00:36:33
saying uh pre bath we had a little chat
  • 00:36:37
before our first interview you were
  • 00:36:39
saying that after the soundbath colors
  • 00:36:43
and detail seems more vibrant yeah
  • 00:36:45
definitely yeah even the contrast from
  • 00:36:49
walking into the sand bath last week
  • 00:36:51
yeah um and then emerging out of the
  • 00:36:55
experience the colors in your garden
  • 00:36:58
there's a whole range of flowers as
  • 00:37:00
oranges and pastel pinks and and reds
  • 00:37:04
the Reds and pinks in the fuchia and
  • 00:37:06
they were all just so rich and vibrant
  • 00:37:09
yes um the greens are um iridescent
  • 00:37:14
greeny you know and on the way in it was
  • 00:37:17
it was just a lovely green garden and I
  • 00:37:20
was still admiring but everything was
  • 00:37:23
    richer yeah
  • 00:37:25
um even the vibration in the air yep
  • 00:37:30
so it was impacting my senses in a way
  • 00:37:34
that it kind of on reflection I'm I had
  • 00:37:38
closed off some senses yes or that that
  • 00:37:42
level of depth yeah and that sound bath
  • 00:37:46
it's almost um yeah breathed space back
  • 00:37:50
into it yeah or um relaxed me enough to
  • 00:37:56
to be back into to the depth of it yes
  • 00:37:59
yeah opening up to the experience again
  • 00:38:02
it is a very interesting thing I found
  • 00:38:05
that you know when when I've become
  • 00:38:08
stressed um there's like a shutting down
  • 00:38:11
of the system and you become very Tunnel
  • 00:38:14
Vision on solving the issue at
  • 00:38:17
hand and then the world gets starts to
  • 00:38:20
become dark and around you because you
  • 00:38:23
    don't really see you're not you're not
  • 00:38:25
concentrating on it you're just focused
  • 00:38:27
on the mental activity of this
  • 00:38:30
issue and then once that's gone the
  • 00:38:32
world seems bigger and brighter and it
  • 00:38:36
was a little bit shimmery as well yeah
  • 00:38:40
even the um a dragonfly buzzing through
  • 00:38:42
    the air had a
  • 00:38:44
    different
  • 00:38:45
yeah that you pick up on yes so yeah
  • 00:38:50
    yeah
  • 00:38:52
um I would probably say it's uh similar
  • 00:38:55
to what someone would experience if they
  • 00:38:57
were on like um a psychedelic like
  • 00:39:00
mushrooms and they would probably say I
  • 00:39:02
    am
  • 00:39:06
    hallucinating um or I'm getting
  • 00:39:09
visuals and um I don't think that's the
  • 00:39:13
correct thing I think what it is is that
  • 00:39:17
what probably most people think is
  • 00:39:18
normal is actually dull senses yes and
  • 00:39:23
    once you relax your senses
  • 00:39:27
you know become more you lighten up and
  • 00:39:31
    you can sense
  • 00:39:33
more so uh yeah I think
  • 00:39:37
um normality for a lot of people is
  • 00:39:40
    actually
  • 00:39:41
    stress but because they're probably
  • 00:39:44
living with it on a daily basis they
  • 00:39:47
kind of think that this is the world yes
  • 00:39:50
they're swimming in it yeah but it's
  • 00:39:53
that classic joke you know the two the
  • 00:39:56
uh the young fish that are swimming
  • 00:39:58
along chatting to each other and the
  • 00:40:00
    older one swims by and
  • 00:40:02
    says
  • 00:40:04
uh isn't the water feeling great today
  • 00:40:07
yeah and as he swims by the other two
  • 00:40:09
look at each other and go what's water
  • 00:40:15
yeah you know we're oblivious to what
  • 00:40:18
we're swimming in until it's pointed out
  • 00:40:20
and it's like oh yeah yeah yeah we're
  • 00:40:24
all stressed we're all wound up we're
  • 00:40:26
all living like this is a normal yes
  • 00:40:30
absolutely um but yeah when you
  • 00:40:33
    um when uh I
  • 00:40:36
remember listening to a podcast about
  • 00:40:41
cancer patients and a lot of cancer
  • 00:40:44
    patients
  • 00:40:46
say uh when you when you know your time
  • 00:40:49
is up everything starts to become you
  • 00:40:53
    appreciate everything and there's a a
  • 00:40:56
calmness that comes over you and you
  • 00:40:59
start to experience more of what's
  • 00:41:02
    really going on and
  • 00:41:05
um and so they'll say it in a way that
  • 00:41:10
most people have no no idea what's going
  • 00:41:13
on yeah you're totally asleep to the
  • 00:41:16
real world yes and uh it's a bit sad
  • 00:41:19
that you have to get that sick you need
  • 00:41:21
to get to the point of where you're like
  • 00:41:23
life is going to end that you're
  • 00:41:25
actually going to start living exactly
  • 00:41:28
    yeah you don't have
  • 00:41:30
to yeah can you get a shake up another
  • 00:41:34
way or yeah yeah yeah yeah without it
  • 00:41:38
being yeah um yeah anything else coming
  • 00:41:43
    up for
  • 00:41:54
    you resolve strength
  • 00:41:58
    yeah
  • 00:42:00
    um Clarity
  • 00:42:05
    yeah deeper
  • 00:42:10
understanding and that I've spent I can
  • 00:42:13
see it clearly now looking back that
  • 00:42:15
I've spent decades in and I keep calling
  • 00:42:19
it an operating system yeah well that is
  • 00:42:23
    it is it's like a Loretta 1.0
  • 00:42:28
yeah and I kept you know pushing back
  • 00:42:32
the updates it was like I've got enough
  • 00:42:35
on my plate I don't yeah I don't want an
  • 00:42:37
update I need an update right now um I
  • 00:42:40
don't want my system to crash yeah but
  • 00:42:43
you know when you put it off and put it
  • 00:42:45
off and then you finally do have to
  • 00:42:46
update yeah and your whole the computer
  • 00:42:49
says no big time this is yeah this is
  • 00:42:53
too much you you got to get all the
  • 00:42:55
other updates before you can do this
  • 00:42:57
leap yeah so I'm at that point saying
  • 00:43:02
probably should have should have should
  • 00:43:04
have should have done a whole heap of
  • 00:43:06
    things yeah
  • 00:43:09
um I would have done well to do a
  • 00:43:12
meditation practice back in my 20s sure
  • 00:43:16
I would have done well to have um got
  • 00:43:20
rid of all the junk food in my 20s and
  • 00:43:22
30s yeah while doing jobs that were so
  • 00:43:25
    stressful and always running to
  • 00:43:27
deadlines I was really jacking up my
  • 00:43:30
adrenals to a point that um on one level
  • 00:43:34
I was loving that that uh that drive
  • 00:43:38
yeah and that race absolutely that Rush
  • 00:43:42
yes and in your 20s you can deal with
  • 00:43:44
that yeah on a daily daily basis and um
  • 00:43:48
and still get through you know wake up
  • 00:43:52
the next day let's do it again and
  • 00:43:53
thrive on it yeah but uh you see
  • 00:43:58
doesn't enjoy that for a prolonged
  • 00:44:01
period so yes I should have updated the
  • 00:44:04
system back then for all that uh harsh
  • 00:44:10
High just quick paced living yeah
  • 00:44:15
    um so now that
  • 00:44:19
Clarity um it is reminding me and it's
  • 00:44:22
actually just getting clear now this is
  • 00:44:24
this is a big change yeah yeah um and
  • 00:44:27
very conscious very aware of before and
  • 00:44:32
    after yeah
  • 00:44:34
and that creative work that I'm I'm
  • 00:44:37
working on and building on I can see how
  • 00:44:41
it will virtually become a meditation
  • 00:44:45
    practice within itself absolutely yeah
  • 00:44:49
so yeah what I was wanting to do you
  • 00:44:52
know how do I hold on to this and how do
  • 00:44:54
I merge the two it just becomes yes
  • 00:44:59
absolutely yeah yeah and it's just
  • 00:45:02
practice yeah yeah and you know from
  • 00:45:05
time to time you get a little test and
  • 00:45:07
    you'll you'll struggle for a little bit
  • 00:45:09
    and then you
  • 00:45:11
remember and then you'll come back and
  • 00:45:13
you'll be oh yeah okay that's good I
  • 00:45:15
still have to get the tuning fork so
  • 00:45:17
that I feel like those will be the
  • 00:45:18
little for for me personally I know that
  • 00:45:22
I need a um something physical and then
  • 00:45:26
the vi ation of it will bring me back to
  • 00:45:30
that that head space absolutely so my
  • 00:45:34
next investment will be three little
  • 00:45:36
tuning Forks into the pocket yeah that's
  • 00:45:39
it yeah it's just practice it's just
  • 00:45:42
practice if anybody out there is wanting
  • 00:45:46
a practice the simplest practice you can
  • 00:45:49
    do is just do conscious
  • 00:45:53
breathing just remember that the only
  • 00:45:56
thing you need to do to keep yourself on
  • 00:45:58
    the planet is
  • 00:46:00
breathe and so nice deep inhalation and
  • 00:46:05
    exhalation through your
  • 00:46:08
    nose and
  • 00:46:10
um if you keep that in
  • 00:46:13
    check everything else is
  • 00:46:16
    manageable but if
  • 00:46:20
    you start
  • 00:46:23
    overthinking and your breathing becomes
  • 00:46:25
shallow you you you you'll feel it yeah
  • 00:46:30
so yeah simplest thing and if you want
  • 00:46:32
to do a little upgrade on that just make
  • 00:46:34
sure on the exhale you do a little
  • 00:46:37
hum I love the hum I was doing that on
  • 00:46:40
the drivein yeah so that 21 minute hum
  • 00:46:44
yeah meditation yeah uh I still struggle
  • 00:46:47
with fitting that in yeah into the week
  • 00:46:50
and I I think there were two days there
  • 00:46:53
that I was able to do it y um but when
  • 00:46:56
    I'm driving
  • 00:46:57
yeah I'm doing the hum now yeah that's
  • 00:46:59
it yeah yeah you can do the hum anytime
  • 00:47:02
anytime all day long if you wish yeah
  • 00:47:05
the hum is very useful yeah yeah I
  • 00:47:07
    usually find
  • 00:47:10
    that
  • 00:47:12
um that sometimes when I'm getting late
  • 00:47:15
into the afternoon and I'm getting
  • 00:47:17
tired um I'll actually notice it in my
  • 00:47:21
breathing and um it won't always come on
  • 00:47:25
like I'm getting tired it might be more
  • 00:47:30
like oh I can feel like a constriction
  • 00:47:33
around my chest it's only very slight
  • 00:47:35
it's only very minor it's slight
  • 00:47:36
irritation but it's just enough to make
  • 00:47:38
    me go oh I'm becoming
  • 00:47:41
aware I'm not breathing properly yes and
  • 00:47:45
so once I start doing the humming and
  • 00:47:47
it's like oh yeah okay I can keep pace
  • 00:47:51
and I'll get my energy levels better
  • 00:47:54
yeah yeah yeah and if it gets too much
  • 00:47:57
and just lie down have a little sleep
  • 00:47:59
yeah yeah well it does put me off to
  • 00:48:02
sleep quickly yes I have noticed yeah
  • 00:48:07
just yeah with a in breath longer out
  • 00:48:11
breath with a hum yeah I'm just dropping
  • 00:48:14
    off to sleep
  • 00:48:15
    really
  • 00:48:17
easily and it was a struggle in the past
  • 00:48:20
so ah isn't that amazing so yeah yeah
  • 00:48:24
I'll keep going with those ones yes
  • 00:48:27
so a little demonstration of that if
  • 00:48:29
anyone's curious we're just going to do
  • 00:48:31
three breaths now a little hum at the
  • 00:48:33
    end
  • 00:48:35
    so just inhaling through your
  • 00:48:42
    nose just
  • 00:48:44
as big a breath as you can manage and
  • 00:48:47
then when it's ready to Exhale you just
  • 00:48:48
    hum
  • 00:48:56
you don't have to be in Pitch with me
  • 00:48:58
you can any any note will do we do
  • 00:49:02
    another
  • 00:49:06
inhale and when you're ready to
  • 00:49:08
    [Music]
  • 00:49:17
    Exhale then one final
  • 00:49:23
inhalation just as big as deep as you
  • 00:49:26
    can manage
  • 00:49:27
and then when you're ready exhale with a
  • 00:49:31
    [Music]
  • 00:49:36
    [Laughter]
  • 00:49:39
hum and then you just notice how your
  • 00:49:41
    body is
  • 00:49:43
feeling you might find that now your
  • 00:49:46
    breathing is maybe a little
  • 00:49:48
deeper a little slower a little
  • 00:49:55
longer so if if you were to do 36
  • 00:49:58
breaths of that that won't take very
  • 00:49:59
long about 5 minutes you'll definitely
  • 00:50:01
feel a state change so yeah good to do
  • 00:50:07
that um whenever you're feeling you got
  • 00:50:11
    your feathers R
  • 00:50:13
ruffled little stressed yeah yeah yeah
  • 00:50:15
good good to do that yeah and there's no
  • 00:50:18
issue there's like you can just keep
  • 00:50:20
doing it and doing it and doing it for
  • 00:50:21
    as long as you
  • 00:50:23
like yeah it's good practice thanks man
  • 00:50:26
