Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - Movie Review
- 00:00:00Hello guys and gals. Me Mudahar and I
- 00:00:02don't know what's up with this PewDiePie
- 00:00:04fella, but man, he's gotten a lot more
- 00:00:06base post retirement. I'm done with
- 00:00:08Google. Now, normally these videos can
- 00:00:11do really well, you know, because some
- 00:00:13people like you probably want to know,
- 00:00:15how do I make my life more private?
- 00:00:17Muda, how do I get rid of those big tech
- 00:00:19overlords, those godamn lizards at
- 00:00:22Silicon Valley from peeking into my life
- 00:00:25every single day? Now, before we
- 00:00:27continue, one thing I want to say is
- 00:00:28some of our videos are actually showing
- 00:00:30up on Spotify. So, if you want to have a
- 00:00:33different platform to watch some of the
- 00:00:34long form content on, especially
- 00:00:36considering that some of the conspiracy
- 00:00:37stuff, maybe the dark web stuff in the
- 00:00:39future, maybe haunted gaming, a lot of
- 00:00:40the content that I'm working on can also
- 00:00:43be viewed on Spotify. So, if you want a
- 00:00:44different platform to listen to the
- 00:00:46stuff on while you do something else,
- 00:00:48uh, while you play a game, while you
- 00:00:49work out, while you're driving, it also
- 00:00:52does have video as well. So, don't feel
- 00:00:54that you're missing out on an entire
- 00:00:55component. It's all there on Spotify.
- 00:00:58So, whether you listen to this on the
- 00:00:59web browser or you look at it on the
- 00:01:01app, it's a totally new platform for you
- 00:01:04to at least watch the content on. So, if
- 00:01:06you want to check it out, link is in the
- 00:01:08description below. That said, let's get
- 00:01:11back to the PewDiePie and the
- 00:01:12self-hosting. Well, you know, PewDiePie
- 00:01:15made a video over here where it does
- 00:01:17pretty well and uh he's talked about
- 00:01:19deouling his life. Now, plenty of
- 00:01:20content creators have talked about
- 00:01:22dealling. Me, too. And uh sometimes,
- 00:01:24depending on how YouTube's uh, you know,
- 00:01:27terms of service goes with harmful and
- 00:01:29dangerous software, aka software that
- 00:01:32cuts us away from Google's ownership. Uh
- 00:01:34sometimes you can get that community
- 00:01:36guideline strike. So, I'm going to be a
- 00:01:37little bit careful in this video. I'm
- 00:01:38going to be like a tactical ninja trying
- 00:01:40to show you how you can cut the big tech
- 00:01:42overlords. Uh, you know, all within
- 00:01:44reason of course here. Now, ladies and
- 00:01:46gentlemen, he made this 23 minute long
- 00:01:48video and he covered actually a lot of
- 00:01:50good points into it. Right now,
- 00:01:52obviously he's got the tinfoil hat on
- 00:01:53and I I kind of like the joke here
- 00:01:55because everyone that I've ever talked
- 00:01:57to about privacy has always said the one
- 00:01:59thing, uh, if you have nothing to hide,
- 00:02:01why do you go through these steps, Muda?
- 00:02:03They already have all my information.
- 00:02:06Yeah, that's true. But why are you
- 00:02:08making it like easy? You know what I
- 00:02:09mean? I've always really said this to
- 00:02:11somebody. Imagine if you left your door
- 00:02:13unlocked or are you okay with like
- 00:02:16somebody just coming into your house,
- 00:02:18sitting inside there, and just watching
- 00:02:20what you do every single day? Would you
- 00:02:22be comfortable with that? If so, then
- 00:02:24leave everything unlocked. Okay? You're
- 00:02:26just a different kind of freak. You
- 00:02:28know, 12 years ago, there was a program
- 00:02:30known as Prism from the NSA that tapped
- 00:02:32into users data on Apple, Google, and
- 00:02:34plenty of these services. And if this
- 00:02:36alarmed you back then, I would only say
- 00:02:38that it's gotten worse now. Again, your
- 00:02:41privacy is always being threatened for
- 00:02:43the reasons of national security or some
- 00:02:45other nonsense. And I don't think we
- 00:02:47should live in a world where we should
- 00:02:49accept letting these companies peak more
- 00:02:51into our life than they really should be
- 00:02:53allowed to. You, as a human being, have
- 00:02:56a right to privacy and your safety. And
- 00:02:58if you want to engage in the world of
- 00:03:00technology, you don't have to
- 00:03:01necessarily give up everything just to
- 00:03:04live in the current world that we're in.
- 00:03:06So I wanted to look at some of the
- 00:03:07things that PewDiePie kind of talked
- 00:03:08about over here and just kind of uh you
- 00:03:10know elevate it from here. So one thing
- 00:03:12that he basically did was he immediately
- 00:03:14cut out Google's default search engine.
- 00:03:16Your search engine right now you can do
- 00:03:18it now while I keep yapping. Just go to
- 00:03:21your browser settings, find the search
- 00:03:23default browser and change it to doc.go.
- 00:03:26It's a search engine that doesn't track
- 00:03:28what you do. It just works. Boom. So,
- 00:03:31this is actually a really great choice.
- 00:03:32And, you know, bonus points for
- 00:03:34PewDiePie over here for being a Furry
- 00:03:36Fox user. Now, I'm not a Firefox person
- 00:03:38myself. I actually use a Brave browser.
- 00:03:41And the thing about any browser is
- 00:03:42realistically the important thing that
- 00:03:44you can do is pick something that is
- 00:03:46already privacy focused. Now, inside
- 00:03:49privacyest.org,
- 00:03:50you can get a pretty good idea about
- 00:03:52which browser takes your privacy
- 00:03:54seriously. Now, for instance, if you're
- 00:03:56on good old Macintosh, apparently it
- 00:03:58seems Safari does pretty good on the
- 00:04:01actual state partitioning tests and it
- 00:04:03starts to fail when you get down to some
- 00:04:05of the miscellaneous stuff. But when it
- 00:04:06comes to Brave, that's a pretty good
- 00:04:08alternative to the standard Google
- 00:04:11Chrome nonsense that you would get. So,
- 00:04:13just off the bat, if you really care
- 00:04:15about your privacy, I think this is a
- 00:04:16great option. But let's say you're like
- 00:04:18somebody that does not like the concept
- 00:04:20of using Chrome, okay? You're not a
- 00:04:22Chroy homie. You can actually just keep
- 00:04:24using Firefox, which is pretty good, or
- 00:04:27you can switch to something like
- 00:04:28Librawolf, which is a bit more privacy
- 00:04:31focused, but keeps that Firefox engine.
- 00:04:33Now, when it comes to your actual
- 00:04:35defaults, PewDiePie makes a pretty good
- 00:04:37point to tell you about switching from
- 00:04:38Brave browser. Now, most people don't
- 00:04:40switch from defaults, which is one of
- 00:04:42the reasons why companies like Google
- 00:04:44pay companies like Apple billions of
- 00:04:46dollars a year to make sure that they
- 00:04:49are the default. In fact, they literally
- 00:04:50just had a court discussion about this.
- 00:04:52when it comes to monopolization because
- 00:04:54Google literally was able to starve out
- 00:04:57their competition in KA market share
- 00:04:59because literally they were the browser
- 00:05:01that everyone was defaulted to and most
- 00:05:03people don't even go through the ch go
- 00:05:06through the entire setting page to
- 00:05:08actually change their default. I mean
- 00:05:10seriously my dad you know he's somebody
- 00:05:12that buys a cell phone immediately
- 00:05:14starts browsing the internet as best of
- 00:05:16his ability and he probably doesn't even
- 00:05:18know that there are options to change
- 00:05:20your browser engine or not browser
- 00:05:22engine but your search engine. And the
- 00:05:24thing is he probably would ask you why
- 00:05:26isn't Google just good enough? Now the
- 00:05:29thing is if you go to your search engine
- 00:05:30over here you can actually change
- 00:05:32underneath Brave to a whole bunch of
- 00:05:34different options. So if you want to use
- 00:05:36Brave search you you can. I personally
- 00:05:38don't prefer it. Duck.Go is a great
- 00:05:40option, but of course, start page is the
- 00:05:42option that I'm using. And of course,
- 00:05:44you can change it for again those
- 00:05:46incognito tabs as well, too. You can mix
- 00:05:48and match. But the thing is, I think you
- 00:05:51can go a step further than using start
- 00:05:53page or even duck.go. What if, ladies
- 00:05:57and gentlemen, you could actually just
- 00:06:00host your own search engine? Well,
- 00:06:02that's exactly what I wanted to do over
- 00:06:04here. Okay, so one of the things that
- 00:06:06you know uh I feel like PewDiePie can
- 00:06:08kind of focus on is something known as
- 00:06:10Docker, which I'm already sure that he's
- 00:06:11done if he's home labbing. Now, for
- 00:06:13anybody that doesn't know what Docker
- 00:06:14is, Docker is a actual uh
- 00:06:17containerization software. So, you know
- 00:06:19how I'm like I I always talk about
- 00:06:21virtual machines, but what if you want
- 00:06:23to spin up a virtual machine, but you
- 00:06:24don't want to deal with like, you know,
- 00:06:26all of the bloat that comes with
- 00:06:27spinning up an entire virtual machine of
- 00:06:29Windows? Well, what Docker does is it
- 00:06:32loads up a virtual machine of Windows or
- 00:06:34any operating system, but it effectively
- 00:06:35spins up just the most important stuff
- 00:06:38that you need to get things going. So,
- 00:06:40you save a [ __ ] ton on resources and you
- 00:06:43kind of get the benefits of those
- 00:06:44virtual machines uh in a lot of cases.
- 00:06:47So, in this AI, I even asked it, Docker
- 00:06:49is a tool for running your applications
- 00:06:51inside containers. These containers
- 00:06:54package all the dependencies and code
- 00:06:55your app needs to run into a single
- 00:06:57file. Now, you might be like, "Muda,
- 00:06:59you're using chat GPT?" No, I'm actually
- 00:07:02running an AI model locally on my system
- 00:07:05with full web searching capabilities,
- 00:07:07all without ever sending my information
- 00:07:10to the rest of the world. And all of
- 00:07:11this is actually done through Docker.
- 00:07:13And I'll guide you through how it works.
- 00:07:15Now, let's say you're on something like
- 00:07:16Windows. You want to download Docker
- 00:07:18Desktop for any of your systems, whether
- 00:07:20you're a Mac user, a Windows user, or a
- 00:07:23Linux user. And once everything is set
- 00:07:25up and ready to go, it should look
- 00:07:27something close to this. Now, I've
- 00:07:29already got a few containers set up. But
- 00:07:31when you open up the terminal over here,
- 00:07:33a lot of these places you go to, you can
- 00:07:35just drag and drop the actual terminal
- 00:07:37commands they provide, and it will
- 00:07:39actually run within here, and it'll
- 00:07:41eventually have like all these
- 00:07:43containers set up. So, I've got a few
- 00:07:45things running right over here, but let
- 00:07:47me start off with other software to run.
- 00:07:49Now, once you get things like Seir XNG,
- 00:07:52this is actually a free open-source
- 00:07:55internet meta search engine which
- 00:07:57aggregates results for up to 24 from up
- 00:08:01to 247 search services. Users are
- 00:08:04neither tracked nor profiled.
- 00:08:06Additionally, Seir XNG can also be used
- 00:08:09over tour for online anonymity. Now, if
- 00:08:12you want to install this, one thing you
- 00:08:13can go down over here is the Docker
- 00:08:15container. So again going to the docker
- 00:08:17container you can follow this guide and
- 00:08:20get things effectively up and running
- 00:08:22within minutes. Now inside this docker
- 00:08:25container once you have seir xng
- 00:08:27basically like ready to go you can hit
- 00:08:28that good old play button and it'll
- 00:08:30actually spin up the container for you.
- 00:08:32Once you see that green light you're
- 00:08:34good to go. Now of course one thing you
- 00:08:37can do is where it says ports over here
- 00:08:39you can actually access this local host
- 00:08:41like domain which is where the actual
- 00:08:43like docker container is hosted. So, by
- 00:08:45opening this up, you can see that I'm
- 00:08:47presented with Seir XNG. Now, if I go to
- 00:08:50preferences real quickly, the important
- 00:08:51part that you probably want to do just
- 00:08:53to make this comply with YouTube is
- 00:08:56obviously for engines definitely disable
- 00:08:59everything regarding Google, right?
- 00:09:00Because I don't know how this works in
- 00:09:02regards to Google's terms of services,
- 00:09:05but uh you know, you want to just
- 00:09:07basically remove that just simply to be
- 00:09:09compliant with like you know, obviously
- 00:09:10Google's toos. I don't want to be
- 00:09:12promoting anything that would be against
- 00:09:13their search engine. uh and then risk
- 00:09:15this video getting taken down. But if
- 00:09:17you look at all the other services that
- 00:09:19are not Google related like for instance
- 00:09:22Bing Images, Brave Images, you can tick
- 00:09:24on any of these engines that you want.
- 00:09:26And once all of this stuff is done, you
- 00:09:28can basically save it and get ready to
- 00:09:30go. So now that you have this browser,
- 00:09:32right, let's say I want to look up, I
- 00:09:34don't know, uh Arch Linux for instance,
- 00:09:36right, uh guide uh install Reddit for or
- 00:09:40just the guide install. As long as I hit
- 00:09:43enter over here, it may take a little
- 00:09:45bit longer to go, but generally
- 00:09:47speaking, I have gotten a response time
- 00:09:49of 1 second. And I would say it's a
- 00:09:51little bit better than Google search
- 00:09:52because it's amalgamating from hundreds
- 00:09:54of different search engines. And you
- 00:09:57kind of bypass some of the possible
- 00:09:59censorship that certain things like
- 00:10:02certain services like Google might
- 00:10:03invoke on their actual service. Now, one
- 00:10:06thing you probably also noticed over
- 00:10:07here is I don't have sponsored pages. I
- 00:10:11don't have ads or anything. And it's not
- 00:10:13because I have an ad blocker. It's
- 00:10:15because I'm locally hosting my own
- 00:10:17search engine. I don't actually have to
- 00:10:20worry about any [ __ ] ads. This is my
- 00:10:22search engine. It's not any other search
- 00:10:24engine. Now, the important thing about
- 00:10:26privacy here is I'm not sending out my
- 00:10:29actual identifiable information to any
- 00:10:31service. What this is doing, Seir, XNG,
- 00:10:34is it's actually sending out anonymized
- 00:10:36queries. So, none of these engines
- 00:10:39really know anything. They're not
- 00:10:40tracking me. They're not doing anything.
- 00:10:42And once you get this set up and going,
- 00:10:44you can honestly just forget about it.
- 00:10:47Like, it literally is this easy to get
- 00:10:49your privacy back. Like, it takes maybe
- 00:10:5110, 15 minutes to get a Docker container
- 00:10:54going. And once all of that pain is
- 00:10:56done, you can just have it ignored. You
- 00:10:58can just have it minimized somewhere on
- 00:11:00your computer forever and never have to
- 00:11:02think twice about the back end of this.
- 00:11:05Right? This is the beauty of
- 00:11:06self-hosting. You go through the pain
- 00:11:08just a little bit and then all of a
- 00:11:09sudden it's just easy. Imagine you
- 00:11:12bought a physical keyboard and it was
- 00:11:13secretly connected to the internet
- 00:11:15sending big tech everything you type.
- 00:11:16We're not doing anything weird. Just
- 00:11:18trust us, bro.
- 00:11:20It's so messed up. On graffiti, I still
- 00:11:22have the option. And if I want to take a
- 00:11:24Google app, I can starve it. Put it in
- 00:11:27one of those. I still don't like that I
- 00:11:29use a Google app, but uh no, actually
- 00:11:31it's good. Google is at my mercy. So
- 00:11:33inside over here he talks about like
- 00:11:35graphed OS which is a great alternative
- 00:11:38that you can have to like standard
- 00:11:40Android. Now for anybody that doesn't
- 00:11:41know mobile phones no matter who you buy
- 00:11:44if it's definitely stock from iOS you
- 00:11:46know that Apple's inside your phone. And
- 00:11:48if you're buying from Android you know
- 00:11:49that Google has a [ __ ] actual dive
- 00:11:51into it. Now what do you do? There's
- 00:11:53options for you to go buy a Linux phone.
- 00:11:55But I'll be completely [ __ ] honest
- 00:11:57with you. uh if you want to actually use
- 00:11:59your phone with applications and have
- 00:12:01other things that aren't just a
- 00:12:02cumbersome uh Linux style system on your
- 00:12:05phone, that's not a great option. Okay,
- 00:12:07I don't think it's a perfect option. I
- 00:12:08think it's probably for people who are
- 00:12:10really really at risk and need like
- 00:12:12complete hardware kill switches and just
- 00:12:14communication services. But if you want
- 00:12:16to actually use your phone with all of
- 00:12:18the duads that modern smartphones
- 00:12:20provide, then yes, Graphine OS is a
- 00:12:23great alternative. Now, the thing is,
- 00:12:25you can't just install this to every
- 00:12:26single phone. So, if you're somebody
- 00:12:27that has like I think a Samsung device,
- 00:12:30you may be a little bit too locked out.
- 00:12:31But generally, if you buy like Google
- 00:12:33Pixels or I think even like OnePlus
- 00:12:35phones, a lot of those come with the
- 00:12:37ability for you to install this
- 00:12:39operating system. And the best part
- 00:12:40about it is you get a lot of privacy
- 00:12:42features out of the box. So, for
- 00:12:44instance, let's say you do install a
- 00:12:46Microsoft or Google application and they
- 00:12:48do come with some invasive little
- 00:12:50privacy busting features. Graphine OS
- 00:12:52literally can starve those entire
- 00:12:54systems with its permission system of
- 00:12:57course just to prevent them from doing
- 00:12:59things that you probably don't feel
- 00:13:00comfortable with, right? Like the thing
- 00:13:02you have to understand about like a lot
- 00:13:04of these big tech companies is that they
- 00:13:06literally just take severe advantage of
- 00:13:08your system. They take severe advantage
- 00:13:10of people without ever realizing that.
- 00:13:13And those people don't know that there
- 00:13:14is an alternative that there is a way
- 00:13:16out, right? Like they just are
- 00:13:19comfortable. They have to be
- 00:13:20comfortable. I think they have to be
- 00:13:21because the system tells them, "Hey, we
- 00:13:23need access to your location services or
- 00:13:25we need access to this private part of
- 00:13:27your phone." But with things like
- 00:13:28Graphine OS or any of these privacy
- 00:13:30focused OS, I even showed you guys how
- 00:13:34to make a deled like operating system
- 00:13:36and install it and flash it to the
- 00:13:38actual like Android phones with the
- 00:13:40original Android source code. And the
- 00:13:43thing about it is once people realize
- 00:13:45that they can do this once, go through
- 00:13:47the pain a little bit, and then all of a
- 00:13:49sudden everything just works out, uh,
- 00:13:51they have the ability to actually kind
- 00:13:54of containerize and lock these services
- 00:13:56down, then it becomes a whole different
- 00:13:57[ __ ] ball game, then use it all you
- 00:13:59want. I may not be a Windows user, but I
- 00:14:02definitely use Windows when I lock it
- 00:14:04inside a virtual machine. So I can use
- 00:14:06it for playing certain video games or
- 00:14:08using really old Windows software super
- 00:14:11easily and it just runs in a VM. I
- 00:14:13containerize it. Now one thing that I
- 00:14:15found really impressive too, obviously
- 00:14:16PewDiePie talked a little bit about like
- 00:14:18cloud hosting, like hosting your own
- 00:14:20like files right now. I think backups
- 00:14:22are great, but you know, relying on
- 00:14:24Google, relying on any of these services
- 00:14:26to store your files is a little bit
- 00:14:28creepy in the sense that you never
- 00:14:30really get privacy. Every time you
- 00:14:32upload your information to services like
- 00:14:34Google or, you know, One Drive or Mega
- 00:14:37or really any of these services, you
- 00:14:39kind of have to trust them to be
- 00:14:41properly encrypting your stuff. Now, in
- 00:14:43general, you probably heard of really
- 00:14:45wild stuff on Google where like, you
- 00:14:47know, people were uh, you know, falsely
- 00:14:49flagged as being predators because what
- 00:14:53happened was Google decided to like look
- 00:14:54into their like files and uh they were
- 00:14:57basically scanning some of the images
- 00:14:59and some of the images tripped their cam
- 00:15:01protections. Now, obviously down the
- 00:15:02road, these people actually didn't have
- 00:15:05images for nefarious reasons. Some of
- 00:15:07them were just medical pictures that
- 00:15:09they shared with doctors, uh, you know,
- 00:15:11regarding their children, right? But it
- 00:15:12kind of shows you that in certain cases,
- 00:15:14a lot of these services don't really
- 00:15:16treat your privacy when it comes to
- 00:15:18internet files. Now, in some cases, this
- 00:15:20might be good because maybe they can
- 00:15:22stop a really sick individual. But I
- 00:15:25really don't subscribe with the
- 00:15:26mentality that just because you want to
- 00:15:28stop a few bad people, we should be
- 00:15:30giving up our actual rights to privacy.
- 00:15:33But there are options for you to use
- 00:15:35things like NexCloud, which you can have
- 00:15:37running on local computers. For
- 00:15:39instance, this is a streaming computer
- 00:15:40that I used to use back when I was like
- 00:15:42a more active streamer on YouTube. It
- 00:15:44was just it would just be a separate
- 00:15:46system that I would feed my video into
- 00:15:48and just send out to YouTube. But the
- 00:15:50thing is, uh, obviously it's a pretty
- 00:15:52powerful system. Maybe not enough
- 00:15:54anymore to game on, but definitely fast
- 00:15:56enough to run servers. So, for instance,
- 00:15:58running things like NexCloud and even
- 00:16:00when it comes to media, right, I can run
- 00:16:03things like Jellyfin. So instead of
- 00:16:05relying on all these cloud services, I
- 00:16:08can run all of my movies and music
- 00:16:10around my house through that computer,
- 00:16:12just tuck it away somewhere, connect it
- 00:16:13to my router, and just have it feeding
- 00:16:15my movies. When it comes to storing my
- 00:16:18files locally, a few hard drives in that
- 00:16:20thing, I can use NexCloud and basically
- 00:16:22have it serve as cloud storage. But the
- 00:16:25other thing is, what if you're somebody
- 00:16:26that, you know, maybe you're like, I do
- 00:16:28need cloud storage because I want to
- 00:16:30have my stuff somewhere as a as a
- 00:16:32backup, right? striped across the world.
- 00:16:34Well, there are tools like Cryptoter.
- 00:16:37And if you don't know what Cryptoter is,
- 00:16:39it allows you to keep that privacy all
- 00:16:42across all of these commercial services.
- 00:16:44Now, the way that this works is before
- 00:16:46you send your information off to Google,
- 00:16:49right, Google Drive. What crypto will do
- 00:16:51is it'll actually, you know, encrypt
- 00:16:53your information locally on your system
- 00:16:56and then send it off. So, even if Google
- 00:16:58or Microsoft or any of these services
- 00:17:00wanted to peek into your [ __ ] well,
- 00:17:02congratulations. You've encrypted the
- 00:17:04ever loving [ __ ] out of it, and you
- 00:17:05yourself possess the keys to decrypt
- 00:17:08that information regardless of where
- 00:17:10it's stored. And all of this is freely
- 00:17:12available. You go to their website, you
- 00:17:14basically go with the free plan, and you
- 00:17:16can set this up for Windows, Mac, Linux,
- 00:17:18Android, iOS, whatever. Okay? create a
- 00:17:21vault, securely store your files, sync
- 00:17:23it up with all these Google Drive
- 00:17:25services, and you're good to go. Okay?
- 00:17:28It's just that easy. All right? And
- 00:17:30again, like the theme of this video, you
- 00:17:32go through a little bit of pain for 10
- 00:17:34minutes, and then you're good to go.
- 00:17:36Now, one thing that PewDiePie talked
- 00:17:37about in his video that really, really,
- 00:17:39really excited me was when he talked
- 00:17:41about AI. But I got curious and, you
- 00:17:43know, I built my own computer not long
- 00:17:45ago, and I spent a lot of money on it.
- 00:17:47Why don't I just see if I can run it
- 00:17:48myself? It's a beast. So, I set up a
- 00:17:51local language model called Mixtrol.
- 00:17:53Emphasis on local, which means it runs
- 00:17:55on my computer completely offline. It's
- 00:17:57beautiful. Now, I can search whatever I
- 00:18:00want. And I can ask it dumb questions
- 00:18:02like, "Why is my left toe bigger than my
- 00:18:04right toe?" And no one knows about it.
- 00:18:06Not Google. You know what? He's actually
- 00:18:09100% right. You know, AI is not an evil
- 00:18:12tool. Okay? I don't think that AI is
- 00:18:14necessarily something that's going away,
- 00:18:16but you know, there's a big difference
- 00:18:17between running AI locally and using,
- 00:18:19you know, chat GPT, Gemini, all these
- 00:18:22services. Now, chances are if you go to
- 00:18:24your phone, you probably [ __ ] around
- 00:18:25with an AI tool. And the thing is, when
- 00:18:27you go to an AI tool, everything that
- 00:18:28you send obviously goes onto their
- 00:18:30servers and it stays there for an amount
- 00:18:33of time that I guess they consider to be
- 00:18:36important for them, right? It's a big
- 00:18:37data collection tool. But what if you
- 00:18:39wanted to use some of these AI models
- 00:18:41and not give your information up
- 00:18:43willy-nilly, right? Well, I challenge
- 00:18:45that a lot of you guys that actually
- 00:18:46have pretty decent gaming computers can
- 00:18:48run a AI model locally and even use it
- 00:18:51to do searches online. You can have the
- 00:18:53best of your world. So, for instance,
- 00:18:56one of the things that I like to promote
- 00:18:58here is Olama. And depending on what you
- 00:19:00use, there are plenty of models that
- 00:19:02come with this. For instance, if you go
- 00:19:04to their model page, you can download
- 00:19:05deepseek, you can download Gemma, you
- 00:19:08can download Quen, you can download
- 00:19:10llama. And each of these have different
- 00:19:11parameters. So the higher your parameter
- 00:19:13is, the more if the better the AI. But
- 00:19:16generally speaking, even with something
- 00:19:18like a 12 billion parameter model that
- 00:19:20can run on a lot of GPUs, uh, or even a
- 00:19:234 billion or sometimes you can get a
- 00:19:25quantized model, which is slightly lower
- 00:19:28quality, but it definitely crunches down
- 00:19:30on resources. installing any of these
- 00:19:32and running them is exactly, you know,
- 00:19:35the the alternative to relying big tech
- 00:19:38to store all of your AI [ __ ] So, how
- 00:19:40does it install? Well, you go to the
- 00:19:41actual page. You go to this download
- 00:19:43option, and regardless of what you use,
- 00:19:46whether it be Windows, where you can
- 00:19:47download the tool from them, Mac OS, a
- 00:19:49tool, but if you're on Linux, this one
- 00:19:51command that you copy and you open that
- 00:19:54super spooky terminal, all you do is
- 00:19:56paste that in there and it just installs
- 00:19:58for you. Now, of course, after that,
- 00:20:00what you can do is you can go to Olama
- 00:20:02and you can serve it. But the other
- 00:20:04thing you also want to have is an Nvidia
- 00:20:06container toolkit if you use an Nvidia
- 00:20:08GPU just because you want to have GPU
- 00:20:10acceleration. It just speeds up these
- 00:20:13AIs like crazy. Okay, GPUs are
- 00:20:16important. Now, of course, the other
- 00:20:17thing you want is Lama pull. And then,
- 00:20:19of course, you can pull the specific AI
- 00:20:21you want. So for instance, if I want
- 00:20:23Gemma 3, I type in Gemma 3, give a
- 00:20:25little colon, and if I want the 12
- 00:20:27billion parameters, I download the 12
- 00:20:29billion. If I want the seven, I download
- 00:20:31the 7 billion parameters. So of course,
- 00:20:33once all of that is done, you're still
- 00:20:35not all the way there. There's something
- 00:20:37known as Open Web UI, which is again the
- 00:20:40actual tool we use to get access to
- 00:20:42these AIs in a super easy manner. So go
- 00:20:45to their website, and of course, all you
- 00:20:47do is you get the open UI. you basically
- 00:20:50follow their instructions on GitHub. So,
- 00:20:52for instance, if you already had that
- 00:20:54Docker installed, which we did in the
- 00:20:56beginning, you can basically go all the
- 00:20:58way, get this first command, and open up
- 00:21:00your Docker container and just drag that
- 00:21:02[ __ ] right in there. And of course, once
- 00:21:05it's done, you'll have open web UI. So,
- 00:21:07once you hit play on that, you'll notice
- 00:21:09that it's got me a little like local
- 00:21:11host. And as soon as I hit enter, boom,
- 00:21:13it's good to go. And because we
- 00:21:15installed those models, we can basically
- 00:21:17load up whatever we want. Now, for
- 00:21:19instance, if I ask it, hey, explain the
- 00:21:22stock market to me. And of course, if I
- 00:21:24hit enter, it's basically backended to
- 00:21:26the AI. And of course, it breaks down
- 00:21:29the stock market, right? It actually
- 00:21:30gives me what I want. But you're like,
- 00:21:32Ma, what if you wanted to Google search
- 00:21:34for you? Well, young Padawan, it's
- 00:21:37pretty [ __ ] easy. If you go over here
- 00:21:39and just basically access your
- 00:21:41administration panel, you can go to the
- 00:21:44settings page and underneath web search,
- 00:21:47you can actually give it a web search
- 00:21:49request engine. So for instance, you
- 00:21:51just toggle on web search and then in
- 00:21:53the engine you have all these things to
- 00:21:55pick from. So you can go to Google, you
- 00:21:57can do Brave, you can do [ __ ] Bing
- 00:21:59for whatever reason. But let's say that
- 00:22:02you already had that Seir XNG. Well, you
- 00:22:04open up Seir XNG and as long as you feed
- 00:22:06it access to that Docker alongside
- 00:22:09search and query, you should basically
- 00:22:12be able to use Seir XNG as a search
- 00:22:15engine inside this. Now, remember, Seir
- 00:22:18XNG already amalgamates information from
- 00:22:21multiple different sources. So, this is
- 00:22:23basically doing crazy level of searches
- 00:22:25for you all in an AI. Now, the thing is,
- 00:22:28if there are issues, there are updated
- 00:22:30guides. I highly recommend you always
- 00:22:32follow the actual guides from the site
- 00:22:33because sometimes things can change per
- 00:22:35even the smallest update and you
- 00:22:37probably have to think a little bit out
- 00:22:39of the box. You probably have to change
- 00:22:40some things around. But once you got web
- 00:22:42search enabled, all you can do is just
- 00:22:44tap that web search. Like for instance,
- 00:22:46if I ask it something like what is
- 00:22:48happening
- 00:22:49uh with Steam OS beating Windows in
- 00:22:53gaming?
- 00:22:55And of course, as soon as I hit enter,
- 00:22:57it generates the query, starts searching
- 00:22:58the web, and it even pulls together all
- 00:23:01of the actual sources you need. And all
- 00:23:03of this is done locally on my system.
- 00:23:05This stuff that you would probably have
- 00:23:07to pay a subscription for with certain
- 00:23:08services on the internet, this is doing
- 00:23:11completely for free, right? And of
- 00:23:13course, it even allows me to do
- 00:23:14follow-up questions. It's actual AI
- 00:23:17running entirely local. Now, let's say
- 00:23:19you also wanted to do this on iPhone and
- 00:23:21Android. There's plenty of free
- 00:23:22applications for iOS and especially for
- 00:23:24Android that allow you to install models
- 00:23:27on your local phone that maybe aren't
- 00:23:29even as good as this, but they run
- 00:23:30completely locally. So, let's say you
- 00:23:32don't even have an internet connection,
- 00:23:33but you still want to have access to
- 00:23:35some AI tool. You can self-host local AI
- 00:23:38and never have to worry about the
- 00:23:40privacy implications. One cool thing
- 00:23:42about these AIs that you can do is you
- 00:23:44can actually use them to transcribe like
- 00:23:46entire images. So, for instance, this
- 00:23:48image that I got from the Stop Killing
- 00:23:50Games video, let's say I wanted to
- 00:23:52transcribe all this text real quickly.
- 00:23:54Well, inside this entire thing, I can
- 00:23:56actually just feed it this image and I
- 00:23:58can ask it, can you transcribe
- 00:24:01this text for me? And then, of course,
- 00:24:04probably should turn off web search
- 00:24:05because there's no reason to search the
- 00:24:06internet. And of course, as soon as I
- 00:24:08hit enter, ladies and gentlemen, whoa,
- 00:24:10it actually does that all for me. It's
- 00:24:13kind of [ __ ] crazy, dude. You know,
- 00:24:15if anything, the AI is all great if
- 00:24:17you're using it completely locally. All
- 00:24:19right. And again, most of you guys
- 00:24:21actually have some pretty cool like, you
- 00:24:24know, computers. You can run this stuff
- 00:24:26locally. Now, the world of self-hosting
- 00:24:28is pretty much alive and well. And I
- 00:24:30really do like appreciate watching like
- 00:24:32PewDiePie kind of enter the home lab
- 00:24:34arc. I knew this was going to happen
- 00:24:35since he switched to Linux. And I
- 00:24:37definitely knew this was going to happen
- 00:24:39like, you know, cuz it happened to me,
- 00:24:40right? It happened to pretty much
- 00:24:41anybody. Once you start using things
- 00:24:43like Linux and you start using open
- 00:24:44source systems, you really enable a
- 00:24:46tinkering part of your brain. And that's
- 00:24:48one of the reasons also why I wanted to
- 00:24:50make this video. Look, I'm not like some
- 00:24:52crazy like expert just out of nowhere,
- 00:24:55okay? A lot of this require tinkering
- 00:24:56and learning myself. And that's kind of
- 00:24:58the whole fun of life, right? Like
- 00:25:00learning new things. And sometimes it's
- 00:25:03good to be a little bit of a rebel. You
- 00:25:04know, stick it to the [ __ ] man
- 00:25:05watching you every single day. So
- 00:25:07hopefully you learned something about
- 00:25:08containerizing your software and even
- 00:25:11setting up local AIS and you can go
- 00:25:14further from here. You know if let's say
- 00:25:16you want to you know do deep research
- 00:25:18which is a cool new tool that a lot of
- 00:25:19AIs have brought. Well you can use
- 00:25:21Docker containers and all the tools I
- 00:25:24showed you to do local deep AI research.
- 00:25:27So again you don't need to pay these
- 00:25:28companies big money to not only spy on
- 00:25:31you but give you access to stuff that
- 00:25:33you can freely put together. Sure, maybe
- 00:25:35it not be the exact same quality as
- 00:25:37something like Chat GPT40,
- 00:25:40but if it's good enough to the point
- 00:25:42where you get your privacy, you get to
- 00:25:44have a little bit of your cake and eat
- 00:25:45it too, then I would lose a little bit
- 00:25:47of that quality for the privacy aspect
- 00:25:50alone. And because this is open- source
- 00:25:52stuff anyways, you can bet your ass that
- 00:25:54a lot of people producing these models,
- 00:25:55whether they be big tech companies like
- 00:25:57Facebook, Google, or Deepseek in China,
- 00:26:00they're putting all the efforts to beat
- 00:26:02out each other. And when they're all
- 00:26:03competing, buddy, we all win down the
- 00:26:06road. And of course, honestly, when it
- 00:26:08comes to storing your information on the
- 00:26:10internet or browsing the web or having
- 00:26:12your privacy with ad blockers, there's a
- 00:26:14lot of free open- source alternatives
- 00:26:16that are all around us. And
- 00:26:18realistically, once you can get past the
- 00:26:2010, 15 minutes of pain it takes, maybe
- 00:26:22the day to just set this stuff up once,
- 00:26:24I guarantee you, you will never have to
- 00:26:26worry about it occasionally like once a
- 00:26:28year when you update and like move
- 00:26:30things around. This is a level of
- 00:26:32freedom that you can have right now
- 00:26:34today and you can actually learn
- 00:26:35something and let's say down the road
- 00:26:36you want to actually make money out of
- 00:26:38these skills. You can probably earn an
- 00:26:41entire like good living. You can
- 00:26:43probably start looking into a career of
- 00:26:46of computer security or anything related
- 00:26:48to this down the road. These are good
- 00:26:49skills to have especially as the world
- 00:26:52gets deeper and deeper into the to to to
- 00:26:55all of this. But ladies and gentlemen,
- 00:26:57you know, PewDiePie, she's getting
- 00:26:58[ __ ] bass, dude. And uh let me tell
- 00:27:00you something right now. It's good to
- 00:27:03deleg yourself. And it's actually really
- 00:27:05easy to deleg. So this video has been a
- 00:27:08little bit long, but hopefully you kind
- 00:27:09of learned something out of it.
- 00:27:11Hopefully you set up a few models
- 00:27:12yourself. Hopefully you set up a few
- 00:27:14search engines on your own system that
- 00:27:16allow you to be private and enjoy the
- 00:27:19internet without having big tech
- 00:27:20completely rail you in the ass when it
- 00:27:23comes to your privacy. If you like what
- 00:27:24you saw, please like, comment, and
- 00:27:26subscribe. Dislike if you dislike it. I
- 00:27:27am out.
