00:00:00
I analyzed the top 100 clothing stores
00:00:02
that opened in 2024 on Etsy and I
00:00:05
noticed some specific strategies that
00:00:07
all of them were using that you might
00:00:09
not be aware of so in this video I'll
00:00:11
break down the six specific strategies
00:00:13
that these brand new top sellers are
00:00:15
using to grow their Etsy stores fast
00:00:17
right now like what specific pricing and
00:00:19
sales strategies they're using to rocket
00:00:22
launch their stores what particular
00:00:24
products they're actually selling in
00:00:26
their stores and even some top niches
00:00:28
that many of these stores are all
00:00:30
selling in so that you can FasTrack your
00:00:32
Etsy success as well all of these stores
00:00:35
have opened within the last 2 to 7
00:00:37
months and have made anywhere from
00:00:39
$5,800 in profit all the way up to
00:00:42
$53,000 in profit since opening their
00:00:45
stores and one of these stores already
00:00:47
has over 8,000 items sold for the year
00:00:50
of 2024 and they just opened so if you
00:00:53
were thinking that there's no way to be
00:00:54
successful with Etsy print on Demand
00:00:57
with shirts then I hope that this video
00:00:58
changes your mind let's start with how
00:01:00
much work these stores actually had to
00:01:02
put in to get that many sales starting
00:01:04
with how many listings these stores
00:01:06
actually have in their store only two of
00:01:09
them had less than 100 listings in their
00:01:11
store with the average of all of them
00:01:13
actually being 522 listings for sale in
00:01:17
their store and quite a few of them
00:01:19
actually already had over a th listings
00:01:21
in their store in the first few months
00:01:23
of opening on average these top stores
00:01:26
have put up 86 listings per month since
00:01:28
opening and that's about about three
00:01:30
listings every single day consistently
00:01:33
since they opened that is a ton of time
00:01:35
and energy that these stores have put
00:01:37
into their shops to get the sales that
00:01:39
they have but you can see it's
00:01:40
absolutely paying off so strategy number
00:01:43
one find a way to list consistently in
00:01:45
your store while still making well
00:01:47
researched designs to get yourself to
00:01:50
that 500 to 1,000 listings range but
00:01:53
don't worry if you already have hundreds
00:01:54
of listings in your store and you're not
00:01:56
getting the sales that you want some of
00:01:58
these other strategies should help with
00:01:59
that as well and that leads us right
00:02:01
into strategy number two which is
00:02:03
creating scalable designs now this
00:02:05
strategy is one that I've used for years
00:02:07
in my shop as well and has helped me
00:02:09
grow my Etsy store to over
00:02:11
$800,000 in sales since I got started
00:02:14
the idea with scalable designs is that
00:02:16
you come up with one really great
00:02:18
looking design that's based on research
00:02:20
and then you change the words and post
00:02:22
it to another Niche I'd say most
00:02:23
commonly you'll see this strategy used
00:02:25
in niches like different professions so
00:02:28
they' make a design for a teacher then
00:02:30
they change the words and make it for a
00:02:31
nurse or change the words and make it
00:02:33
for a social worker but this strategy
00:02:35
can really work in tons of different
00:02:37
niches because if you come up with a
00:02:39
trendy design style that adds value and
00:02:41
just change the words and put it into a
00:02:43
new Niche you can get into a lot more
00:02:45
places on Etsy a lot faster I definitely
00:02:48
saw a lot of the top sellers using this
00:02:50
strategy in a particular Niche that
00:02:52
we'll talk about in The Niche section
00:02:54
later on as well I Do cover making
00:02:56
scalable designs in my course the Pod
00:02:59
Road map but if you want me to make a
00:03:00
scalable designs tutorial here on
00:03:03
YouTube then comment I don't know the
00:03:05
word poodle down in the comments below
00:03:07
and I'll consider making a tutorial for
00:03:10
that and while you're down there maybe
00:03:11
you'll consider subscribing now let's
00:03:14
talk about sales and pricing strategies
00:03:16
it's a really popular strategy on Etsy
00:03:18
to run a sale in your store but what
00:03:21
percentage off is the best one to run of
00:03:23
all of the stores that I studied only
00:03:25
three of the top stores didn't have a
00:03:27
sale at all the rest of them have a sale
00:03:30
of anywhere from 30% to 70% off with the
00:03:33
majority of them being between 40% and
00:03:36
60% off the next pricing strategy that
00:03:39
almost all of these stores used was a
00:03:41
loss leader if you're not familiar with
00:03:43
what a loss leader is this is the
00:03:45
strategy where you make one item in your
00:03:48
listing a lot less expensive than all of
00:03:50
the rest this could be one color of a
00:03:53
size extra small or this could be the
00:03:55
smallest size of a baby bodysuit but in
00:03:58
either case you price this quite bit
00:04:00
lower than the rest of the items in the
00:04:01
listing the reason why this is a popular
00:04:04
strategy on Etsy is that in the Etsy
00:04:06
search results they show you the lowest
00:04:09
price of that listing in the search
00:04:11
results so it makes it look like your
00:04:13
item is a little bit less expensive a
00:04:15
lot of people like to hate on this
00:04:17
strategy and say that it's clickbait or
00:04:19
that customers won't like it or that
00:04:20
they wouldn't shop a listing that had
00:04:22
that but the research never lies only
00:04:26
seven of the top stores that I
00:04:27
researched didn't use a l loss leader
00:04:30
strategy the top sellers that did use
00:04:32
the loss leader strategy used anything
00:04:34
from a small size of one of the items to
00:04:37
including baby items in their listings
00:04:39
and they charged anywhere from $4.99 all
00:04:42
the way up to $19 as their loss leader
00:04:45
so totally up to you they really were a
00:04:47
big range of how much people charged for
00:04:50
their cheapest item so strategy number
00:04:52
three is consider using sales and loss
00:04:55
leaders in your listings now don't feel
00:04:57
like you need to go back and add this to
00:04:59
every single listing that you have as a
00:05:01
lot of those listings have probably
00:05:03
already gotten their rankings and it
00:05:05
might not make a big difference or be
00:05:07
really the best use of your time so I
00:05:09
would recommend testing this yourself
00:05:11
and creating new listings that have lost
00:05:13
leaders and I think that would be the
00:05:15
best use of your time so you could
00:05:17
really test and see if you start seeing
00:05:19
a really big increase with the new
00:05:21
listings that you make or not so now a
00:05:23
really exciting one what products are
00:05:26
these clothing stores that opened in
00:05:28
2024 and sold anywhere from 800 to 8,000
00:05:31
items already actually selling one of
00:05:34
the stores was a baby clothing only
00:05:36
store one was a sweatshirt Only Store
00:05:40
two of them actually sold baby teas as
00:05:42
their main product this is where you use
00:05:44
a kids shirt like the 5000b and have it
00:05:47
for adult women to wear or you can
00:05:50
actually use something called a baby tea
00:05:52
which is a women's kind of really much
00:05:53
more fitted smaller cropped shirt six
00:05:57
stores mainly sold just Comfort color
00:05:59
t-shirts and that's it and the vast
00:06:02
majority of the rest of the stores
00:06:05
actually sold the exact same thing which
00:06:08
was either the Bella canvas 301 shirt or
00:06:11
a Gilden t-shirt but they also included
00:06:15
children sizings like kids shirts baby
00:06:18
shirts baby onesies and maybe even
00:06:20
sweatshirts or tank tops all within one
00:06:23
listing this is called a multi-product
00:06:26
listing I've long kind of said that I
00:06:28
don't really recommend doing multi-item
00:06:30
listings with printify and that's
00:06:32
because print on demand to me has always
00:06:34
been supposed to be an automated process
00:06:37
and when you make these multi-item
00:06:39
listings it does become a little bit
00:06:41
more manual either right when you list
00:06:43
it it'll take quite a bit longer or once
00:06:45
it finally sells it can take a little
00:06:48
bit longer and it's just a little bit
00:06:50
complex of an idea for a brand new
00:06:52
seller but looking at how many of these
00:06:54
brand new sellers are really having
00:06:56
success with this has me kind of
00:06:58
rethinking that thought and I did
00:07:00
already film a full tutorial for
00:07:02
multi-item listings and that will be
00:07:04
coming out in the next week so make sure
00:07:07
to like this video And subscribe if you
00:07:09
do want the full tutorial on how to make
00:07:11
listings just like all those top sellers
00:07:13
are so strategy number four is consider
00:07:16
creating multi-product listings so if
00:07:18
you're selling clothing like all these
00:07:20
stores are then that would be including
00:07:22
other sizes in the same listing as well
00:07:25
so now that we know what pricing
00:07:26
strategies and what products these top
00:07:28
sellers are selling
00:07:30
let's jump into what niches have
00:07:32
actually been the most profitable for
00:07:34
all of these stores now I do want to add
00:07:36
real quick that I did weed out any
00:07:38
stores that were selling mainly
00:07:39
trademarked and copyrighted items like
00:07:41
Disney stuff in their stores so nothing
00:07:44
like that was included in the research
00:07:46
and I won't be sharing any of their
00:07:48
store names or actual listings just
00:07:50
because I don't think it's fair that any
00:07:52
new small business would get put on
00:07:54
blast on a video like this where it's
00:07:55
potentially going to get thousands and
00:07:57
thousands of views so to start off with
00:08:00
100% of the stores that I studied were
00:08:02
General Stores not Niche stores so that
00:08:05
mean they sold anywhere from 2 to three
00:08:07
different niches in their store anywhere
00:08:09
up to maybe 50 or 60 different niches in
00:08:12
their stores instead of just one Niche
00:08:15
so for example instead of having a store
00:08:17
just about teachers maybe they sold
00:08:19
teachers and nurses and social workers
00:08:22
along with just cute Halloween designs a
00:08:25
few of them did only sell one product
00:08:27
type like kids shirts t-shir shirts or
00:08:29
sweatshirts but most of them had a
00:08:32
couple of those different products for
00:08:33
sale in their store in general I looked
00:08:36
at the top 20 listings in each of these
00:08:38
stores and made a list of all of the
00:08:40
niches that they sold in that had
00:08:42
anywhere from 30 sales to hundreds and
00:08:44
hundreds of sales on a brand new listing
00:08:46
and put them in a list here for you
00:08:48
because it was really interesting that
00:08:50
they mostly had a lot of these niches in
00:08:53
common and I'll share that list with you
00:08:54
so you can consider getting into some of
00:08:56
these really profitable niches for 2024
00:08:58
as well so starting off on the low end
00:09:00
but again these were all really
00:09:02
profitable ones for these stores as well
00:09:04
just not as many stores were selling in
00:09:06
these niches we have pride month mom
00:09:09
shirts feminist shirts and juneth shirts
00:09:13
the next chunk a few more stores were
00:09:15
all selling in which was reading shirts
00:09:18
autism hobbies and Halloween getting
00:09:21
into some of the bigger niches that
00:09:23
quite a few of these sellers were
00:09:24
selling in we have graduation back to
00:09:27
school teacher and Fourth of July were
00:09:31
all really big categories in quite a few
00:09:33
of these stores the next biggest chunk
00:09:35
was sports themed birthday themed and
00:09:39
professions themed for professions I
00:09:41
kind of made it more General but there
00:09:43
was lots of different professions that
00:09:45
quite a few of them sold in and then for
00:09:47
our biggest three niches that the
00:09:49
majority of these stores all sold in we
00:09:53
have Christian shirts funny shirts and
00:09:57
last but not least political shirts the
00:10:00
thing that I find really interesting
00:10:02
about this list is the majority of these
00:10:04
top niches for all of these top stores
00:10:06
are tied to some kind of holiday season
00:10:09
or appreciation day there were a few
00:10:11
niches like the reading Niche and the
00:10:14
funny shirts that really could sell all
00:10:16
year round but the majority of the
00:10:18
listings that got hundreds of sales
00:10:20
after only being posted for a few months
00:10:22
really had to do with something that was
00:10:24
super viral at the time like the
00:10:26
upcoming Mother's Day holiday 4th of
00:10:28
July Autism Awareness Month graduation
00:10:31
or obviously political designs which are
00:10:33
selling really well in Etsy right now so
00:10:36
strategy number five is designing 8 to
00:10:38
12 weeks in advance for holidays Seasons
00:10:41
appreciation days or events that are
00:10:44
coming up going to be really popular on
00:10:46
Etsy if you can design for these in
00:10:48
advance and have items up for sale as
00:10:50
soon as customers are shopping for them
00:10:52
then you can find success just like this
00:10:54
if you're not from the US if you're just
00:10:56
not sure exactly what holidays
00:10:58
appreciation days and Etc sell well on
00:11:00
Etsy then I will link my print on demand
00:11:02
Niche calendar down below that gives you
00:11:05
40 plus niches to design for all
00:11:07
throughout the year and exactly when you
00:11:09
should be listing them the last lesson
00:11:11
to take away from all of these top
00:11:13
selling stores is their bestselling
00:11:15
listings that they had there wasn't just
00:11:17
one item for sale for that Niche there
00:11:20
was actually a bunch of other listings
00:11:22
that they had for the exact same one so
00:11:24
let's say their top selling item was a
00:11:27
political shirt they didn't just have
00:11:29
one political shirt they probably had 30
00:11:31
or 50 political designs for sale in
00:11:34
their store as well one of the reasons
00:11:36
why I think this strategy works really
00:11:38
nicely is when you're on an Etsy listing
00:11:40
and you scroll to the bottom it will
00:11:41
show you more designs by that seller and
00:11:44
it'll actually pull the ones that are
00:11:46
for the exact same Niche that you're
00:11:47
looking at but besides that I think it's
00:11:49
a really good idea to test different
00:11:51
design strategies and try different
00:11:54
styles and different sayings to figure
00:11:56
out how you can add value and really
00:11:58
learn that niche instead of just posting
00:12:00
one listing for sale in that Niche and
00:12:03
wondering why it didn't do so well so
00:12:05
strategy number six is to make multiple
00:12:07
designs for every Niche that you design
00:12:09
for in my course I recommend anywhere
00:12:11
from 8 to 15 to get started with and
00:12:14
then if anything gets favorites or sells
00:12:16
then you can double down and make even
00:12:18
more designs for that Niche since you
00:12:20
know there's demand
