Why I Stopped Being Anti-Woke
الملخص

Why should you read Edgar Allan Poe? - Scott Peeples
- 00:00:01[Music]
- 00:00:05is being woke good or bad well it
- 00:00:09depends greatly on what you mean by woke
- 00:00:13now I've scoured the internet for a
- 00:00:15consistent definition of woke and what I
- 00:00:18found was that perception of what the
- 00:00:21term stands for is very clearly
- 00:00:24demarcated along political affiliation
- 00:00:27left leaning people tend toward an
- 00:00:29approximation of the first definition in
- 00:00:32Webster's dictionary which is quote
- 00:00:35aware of and actively attentive to
- 00:00:38important societal facts and issues
- 00:00:40especially issues of racial and social
- 00:00:42justice unquote while right- leaning
- 00:00:46people tend toward the second definition
- 00:00:49quote politically liberal or Progressive
- 00:00:52as in matters of racial and social
- 00:00:54justice especially in a way that is
- 00:00:57considered unreasonable or extreme
- 00:01:00unquote now it originally meant the
- 00:01:03first definition but throughout recent
- 00:01:06political discourse the term was
- 00:01:08co-opted and turned into the second
- 00:01:11definition in order to disparage
- 00:01:14throughout most of my search I found
- 00:01:17that people using it to disparage varied
- 00:01:20greatly in how they tried to Define it
- 00:01:24they weren't very consistent some had
- 00:01:27difficulty defining it at all would you
- 00:01:30mind defining woke because it's come up
- 00:01:31a couple times I just want to make sure
- 00:01:32we're on the same
- 00:01:34page so I mean woke
- 00:01:38is sort of the idea that
- 00:01:44um
- 00:01:46I some defined it as assigning
- 00:01:50viewpoints to entire groups it's a basis
- 00:01:53for madness um uh when people say the
- 00:01:57gay community who are you talking about
- 00:01:59it's like women think this oh really 50%
- 00:02:04of the species all agree on
- 00:02:07something uh blacks say
- 00:02:10this really and some defined it as the
- 00:02:15perfect opposite being restricted from
- 00:02:17assigning viewpoints to entire groups
- 00:02:20people always ask what is the definition
- 00:02:23of woke well the definition of woke as I
- 00:02:26mentioned in the book is the making
- 00:02:28sacred of his historically marginalized
- 00:02:31race gender and sexual identity groups
- 00:02:34that's it now that last clip is very
- 00:02:36interesting to me because he admits
- 00:02:39something I don't think he intended to
- 00:02:42admit and the word sacred is what led
- 00:02:45him into his own trap he talks about
- 00:02:49historically marginalized groups such as
- 00:02:52gender race and sexual orientation as
- 00:02:54being sacred in other words unassailable
- 00:02:59unable to to blaspheme against but
- 00:03:02here's my
- 00:03:04question what legitimate criticism or
- 00:03:08negative statement can be levied at an
- 00:03:13entire race or an entire gender or an
- 00:03:16entire sexual orientation now if someone
- 00:03:20said quote the problem with black people
- 00:03:23is
- 00:03:25ABC or the problem with women is XYZ
- 00:03:31wouldn't we immediately recognize that
- 00:03:33as racists or sexist because you're
- 00:03:37shoehorning everyone of those groups
- 00:03:40into a box of problems based on their
- 00:03:44immutable characteristics how do you
- 00:03:47correct immutable characteristics
- 00:03:49genocide
- 00:03:51Eugenics what so yes we have decided as
- 00:03:56a society to not discriminate based on
- 00:03:59certain demographics like race gender
- 00:04:02and sexual orientation isn't that a good
- 00:04:05thing calling that sacred does not
- 00:04:08excuse bigotry does it and calling that
- 00:04:12woke doesn't make woke a bad thing does
- 00:04:17it years ago people would have described
- 00:04:21me as
- 00:04:23anti-woke because I openly expressed
- 00:04:26dislike of what some people would ass
- 00:04:29associate with wokeness today but my
- 00:04:33dislike was rooted in a fundamental
- 00:04:37misunder
- 00:04:38understanding it took me too long to
- 00:04:40realize this but my dislike was not for
- 00:04:43a specific group of
- 00:04:46people which is the same mistake that
- 00:04:48right leaning people are making now my
- 00:04:51dislike was for a specific set of traits
- 00:04:55that anybody of any group could possess
- 00:05:00it's just that sometimes people are
- 00:05:02willing to overlook these traits if
- 00:05:05they're held by people of their own
- 00:05:07group typical
- 00:05:10tribalism these are the
- 00:05:12traits obsessive easily offended
- 00:05:17hypocritical and lacking
- 00:05:21self-awareness now these are often a
- 00:05:23package
- 00:05:24deal I Associated those traits with
- 00:05:28certain groups
- 00:05:30rather than the more accurate approach
- 00:05:31of attributing them to the individuals
- 00:05:34who exhibited those traits the truth is
- 00:05:37that someone who is woke might not have
- 00:05:40any of those
- 00:05:42traits while someone who is intensely
- 00:05:45anti-woke could have every single one of
- 00:05:47them but the right-wing media sphere is
- 00:05:50a juggernaut that searches for outright
- 00:05:54invents or focuses upon the most extreme
- 00:05:59legit or not and then elevates that puts
- 00:06:03a spotlight on it as the norm so people
- 00:06:07end up with a lopsided view of reality
- 00:06:11and if you don't agree with them then
- 00:06:13you are called a cuck a s a beta soy boy
- 00:06:17and any one of a million other
- 00:06:19emasculating terms uh that works very
- 00:06:22well on insecure young men they are
- 00:06:26experts at controlling the narrative now
- 00:06:30when I was a kid about once a month or
- 00:06:32so I'd visit a relative of mine who was
- 00:06:35a pretty staunch feminist and I remember
- 00:06:38one time when my brother and I were
- 00:06:40driving in the car with her and somebody
- 00:06:43driving in front of us made her very
- 00:06:46frustrated and eventually they turned
- 00:06:49without using a turn signal and I never
- 00:06:52forgot what she said in response to that
- 00:06:54she said quote men don't know how to use
- 00:06:58turn signals
- 00:07:00that was very peculiar to me even as a
- 00:07:03child I remember that you couldn't even
- 00:07:06see the cars driver couldn't even tell
- 00:07:09if they were a man or a woman she just
- 00:07:12assumed and she was making a disparaging
- 00:07:16statement about something I was going to
- 00:07:18become one day a man that fact did not
- 00:07:21Escape my young mind she frequently made
- 00:07:25disparaging statements about men in
- 00:07:27general and it made me wonder if one day
- 00:07:31she was going to hate me
- 00:07:33too I wondered if it was only my
- 00:07:36existence as a child that made me
- 00:07:39acceptable to her I didn't know and what
- 00:07:44rubbed me the wrong way which I could
- 00:07:46not quite Express back then was that she
- 00:07:50had those traits I disliked she was
- 00:07:53obsessive easily offended hypocritical
- 00:07:57and lacked self-awareness
- 00:07:59now as a result she did things that she
- 00:08:02did not like when men did them
- 00:08:06misogynistic men made assumptions about
- 00:08:09her because she was a woman and so she
- 00:08:11did the same back to them she became
- 00:08:14what she hated and something I've
- 00:08:18constantly warned you against throughout
- 00:08:20the life of my channel hate nobody or
- 00:08:25those you hate will shape you into what
- 00:08:27you will be it made me feel toward her
- 00:08:31the same way I already felt toward
- 00:08:34religious people at an early age
- 00:08:37religious people aggravated me because
- 00:08:40they made assumptions about me based on
- 00:08:42the simple fact that I did not believe
- 00:08:45what they believed they ascribed to me
- 00:08:48all sorts of ulterior motives things
- 00:08:50that never even entered my thought
- 00:08:53process like I just wanted to sin or
- 00:08:56that I hated God or that I was rebelling
- 00:08:59and that I just wanted to live by my own
- 00:09:01rules and or that I hated them Etc and
- 00:09:05the list was endless but none of that
- 00:09:08was
- 00:09:08true and they were so easily offended my
- 00:09:13mere existence as a non-believer
- 00:09:16offended them how dare I disbelieve what
- 00:09:20they
- 00:09:21believed I was 8 years old the first
- 00:09:25time I told someone that I did not
- 00:09:27believe God existed this was before I
- 00:09:30even knew the word atheist and the
- 00:09:34reason I remember it so well is because
- 00:09:36of the reaction I received it was a
- 00:09:39classmate we were both in the second
- 00:09:41grade at the time his name was David and
- 00:09:45I even remember his last name too but I
- 00:09:47won't say it it begins with a V so uh
- 00:09:50David V mentioned something about God
- 00:09:54and I told him that God is just another
- 00:09:57fairy tale just like all the other fairy
- 00:10:00tales that the adults tell us that's
- 00:10:03truly how I saw it at the time and he
- 00:10:06told me that I'm going to burn in
- 00:10:11lell and what struck me was that he
- 00:10:15looked happy about it he was grinning
- 00:10:18when he said it and I think that helped
- 00:10:21instill in me the idea that not
- 00:10:25everything that is claimed to be good
- 00:10:29really really truthfully is good that
- 00:10:33was one of the lessons that taught me
- 00:10:36about the
- 00:10:37inconsistencies of life here we had
- 00:10:40someone who was a Christian who we were
- 00:10:44supposed to think of as good people yet
- 00:10:47he was reveling in the idea of someone
- 00:10:50else's pain and suffering my pain and
- 00:10:54suffering and it wasn't like I was ever
- 00:10:57mean to him he had no reason to hate me
- 00:11:01yet he still seemed to like the idea of
- 00:11:06my torture and that stuck with
- 00:11:09me after that it aggravated me when
- 00:11:13people used religion as a shortcut to
- 00:11:17tell if someone was a good person or
- 00:11:20that their lack of religion was a way to
- 00:11:22tell that they're a bad person I
- 00:11:25remember someone telling me that they
- 00:11:27knew my brother was a good person
- 00:11:30because they saw the Christian bumper
- 00:11:32sticker on his
- 00:11:34car I couldn't put my finger on it yet
- 00:11:38but there was a certain commonality
- 00:11:40among the people that aggravated me I
- 00:11:44did not yet know that this type of
- 00:11:47person was not limited to any one
- 00:11:50ideology they could really be
- 00:11:52anybody it wasn't a trait inherent to
- 00:11:56feminism or religion and I didn't really
- 00:12:00truly figure it out until around
- 00:12:032016 much later in life that was when I
- 00:12:07started to truly understand that it was
- 00:12:11these traits that I disliked obsessive
- 00:12:15easily offended hypocritical and lacking
- 00:12:18self-awareness and that was the real
- 00:12:21problem I had with my feminist relative
- 00:12:24and many of the religious people I
- 00:12:27argued with over the years it wasn't
- 00:12:29their
- 00:12:30feminism and it wasn't their
- 00:12:33religion it was their specific behavior
- 00:12:37for which they alone are
- 00:12:40responsible in order to learn that
- 00:12:42lesson I had to witness a remarkable
- 00:12:45shift in the Zeitgeist and that happened
- 00:12:48in the
- 00:12:50mid2 now at first I was making the exact
- 00:12:54same mistake of attributing those
- 00:12:56characteristics to a specific group of
- 00:12:59people what taught me the lesson was the
- 00:13:03reaction to them uh during the years
- 00:13:06around 2014 we had a term for those
- 00:13:09people which we called
- 00:13:11sjw which stood for social justice
- 00:13:15Warrior people don't usually use that
- 00:13:17term anymore because it has been
- 00:13:19fundamentally subsumed by the term woke
- 00:13:24uh they're essentially synonymous now
- 00:13:26though their atmology is a bit different
- 00:13:28back then around a decade or so before
- 00:13:31this recording it was popular to make
- 00:13:35fun of sjws I was essentially on the
- 00:13:39Vanguard against wokeism back then now a
- 00:13:43lot of people developed entire careers
- 00:13:45out of doing that nobody took it
- 00:13:48terribly seriously Beyond comedic
- 00:13:50purposes though the comedy was very easy
- 00:13:54and in demand so naturally it flourished
- 00:13:59I made a cartoon that was doing great
- 00:14:02numbers and going viral it was called if
- 00:14:05God became an
- 00:14:07sjw now when I realized the truth of
- 00:14:12what was really going on I put that
- 00:14:14video on private so that it would not be
- 00:14:18seen anymore I made a mistake by making
- 00:14:22that cartoon and correcting that mistake
- 00:14:25was not painfree as that video was
- 00:14:29pretty lucrative but I can't stand by
- 00:14:32something that I don't believe in Just
- 00:14:34For The Money uh as a lot of you who are
- 00:14:36familiar with my work no I no longer
- 00:14:39make videos like that and I have not
- 00:14:42done it for a long time
- 00:14:45now I've even been accused of being woke
- 00:14:49now which is very funny to me uh so what
- 00:14:54changed see a lot of people disliked
- 00:14:57sjws for the the same reason that I
- 00:15:00disliked religion because we generalized
- 00:15:04the people in those groups based on the
- 00:15:06more extreme ones who seemed very
- 00:15:09obsessive very hypocritical lacked
- 00:15:12self-awareness and were easily offended
- 00:15:16and nobody likes walking on eggshells
- 00:15:19nobody likes their language being
- 00:15:21policed like blasphemy or to be lectured
- 00:15:25like sermons or to be accused of certain
- 00:15:29things just on the basis of immutable
- 00:15:32characteristics born into sin like being
- 00:15:36a man or being white or straight Etc to
- 00:15:40anti-sjws that seemed to be ironically
- 00:15:43racist and
- 00:15:45sexist that fed into my belief that they
- 00:15:48were hypocritical and lacked
- 00:15:52self-awareness the things that I
- 00:15:53disliked so much so I was motivated to
- 00:15:57mock them in hindsight I know that many
- 00:16:00of them had valid
- 00:16:02concerns but were perhaps expressed in
- 00:16:06ways that weren't very diplomatic and
- 00:16:09much more
- 00:16:11accusatory to make sense of why I did
- 00:16:15not stay the course in an anti-woke
- 00:16:18Direction it would help to understand a
- 00:16:21little bit of the history involved much
- 00:16:24of the movement against the sjws and
- 00:16:27eventually the woke as their called now
- 00:16:30can be exemplified in a in the massive
- 00:16:33pop culture backlash against a woman
- 00:16:37named Anita
- 00:16:38sarkeesian and what she
- 00:16:40represented she started a nonprofit
- 00:16:43organization called feminist frequency
- 00:16:46she was a Critic of modern media like
- 00:16:49movies and video games but rather than
- 00:16:52examining them from the perspective of
- 00:16:55technical competence or artistic value
- 00:16:58like most critics she evaluated them
- 00:17:01from a perspective of positive or
- 00:17:03negative cultural impact usually in
- 00:17:07terms of whether or not the movie or
- 00:17:09video game was problematic in how it
- 00:17:12portrayed women or various minority
- 00:17:15groups or even that they weren't
- 00:17:17portrayed at all that they didn't have
- 00:17:20enough
- 00:17:21representation and I think that she felt
- 00:17:24we as a society had become too
- 00:17:27accustomed and accepting of how these
- 00:17:30various demographics are treated in our
- 00:17:32media or left out
- 00:17:34altoe which has an effect on our
- 00:17:37perceptions and some of the things she
- 00:17:40criticized were pieces of media that we
- 00:17:43loved and I think a lot of people felt
- 00:17:47personally attacked by that we were
- 00:17:50being called guilty for liking things
- 00:17:53that she considered problematic for
- 00:17:56example she would criticize things like
- 00:17:59impractical armor for women in video
- 00:18:01games that was too skimpy or the women
- 00:18:04were too sexualized or the camera
- 00:18:08focused a bit too much on a woman's
- 00:18:10sexual characteristics which was called
- 00:18:13the male
- 00:18:14gaze and these were things that most
- 00:18:17guys liked including myself so it seems
- 00:18:22like the industry catered to guys for
- 00:18:25the most part and she argued that it
- 00:18:28should cater to everyone she gained
- 00:18:31Traction in mainstream media too and it
- 00:18:33was even reported that she started
- 00:18:35Consulting in game development and I
- 00:18:38think that scared a lot of people but I
- 00:18:42think that she was welcomed as a
- 00:18:44consultant because naturally these
- 00:18:46companies wanted to broaden their
- 00:18:49audiences which would make them more
- 00:18:52profitable and she found some success
- 00:18:54too and a lot of people claimed that it
- 00:18:56was not organic success she was
- 00:18:59receiving a lot of funding for her work
- 00:19:02and some of her most Ardent detractors
- 00:19:04would point out that her work did not
- 00:19:06reflect the amount of funding she was
- 00:19:09receiving basically it was an accusation
- 00:19:11of grifting uh before that term was very
- 00:19:14common but I don't think it's accurate
- 00:19:18to call her a grifter because I think
- 00:19:20she was a True Believer in her cause
- 00:19:23grifters on the other hand don't really
- 00:19:26care about the cause the the cause is
- 00:19:29just whatever is popular at the moment
- 00:19:32now on a surface level it doesn't really
- 00:19:34sound like there's anything wrong with
- 00:19:37any of that right but I was far from
- 00:19:40alone in thinking that something about
- 00:19:43the way it was executed seemed
- 00:19:45off it rubbed me the wrong way enough to
- 00:19:49the point where I also started
- 00:19:51criticizing sjws now at first it was the
- 00:19:56obsessive nature of it that bothered me
- 00:19:59it's one of the main things that
- 00:20:01bothered me about religion
- 00:20:03too I saw it as getting offended about
- 00:20:06every little thing but not just merely
- 00:20:09getting offended about something you
- 00:20:12happened to see or hear it seemed like
- 00:20:15it was a movement that sought out
- 00:20:17offense to point at like they actively
- 00:20:21desired to be offended for instance if I
- 00:20:25were to behave the same way in terms of
- 00:20:29religion my channel would look very
- 00:20:31different than it does now my channel is
- 00:20:34critical of organized religion but for
- 00:20:37me it would be like instead of getting
- 00:20:40into religious Doctrine itself or
- 00:20:43instead of talking about the various
- 00:20:46ways religion is affecting our politics
- 00:20:48it would be as if I watched movies and
- 00:20:51video games with an ear attentively
- 00:20:55waiting for someone to mention Christ or
- 00:20:58to present themselves as a Christian or
- 00:21:01to find someone in a movie wearing a
- 00:21:04cross or praying or anything like that
- 00:21:06and then obsessively deconstructing it
- 00:21:10how it's problematic how there's no
- 00:21:13equal representation for atheists or
- 00:21:16other religions it would be as if I
- 00:21:18would not be able to enjoy media that
- 00:21:22has Christian elements but that's just
- 00:21:25not the case for me I don't I don't mind
- 00:21:27Christian elements and movies and games
- 00:21:30but what if they portrayed atheists
- 00:21:34negatively or inaccurately maybe then I
- 00:21:38could empathize a little better with
- 00:21:40what Anita was doing but I I just didn't
- 00:21:42think of it that way
- 00:21:45regardless shallow and seeking offense
- 00:21:49is how I perceived critical analysis by
- 00:21:52sjws anyway and I think other people
- 00:21:55perceived that as well so it became a
- 00:21:58game to be offensive to them to get
- 00:22:02their attention and then laugh at them
- 00:22:05for it to actively seek to trigger them
- 00:22:09as it was called so it was a bit of a
- 00:22:12symbiosis for a while they sought to be
- 00:22:16offended while others sought to offend
- 00:22:18them and back then the term you mad bra
- 00:22:23was popular it was widely perceived that
- 00:22:26getting mad or getting offended meant
- 00:22:30that you lost the game lost the debate
- 00:22:34so even if you weren't mad or offended
- 00:22:36it was a common tactic to portray you as
- 00:22:39such as a shortcut to
- 00:22:42winning and because the sjws were always
- 00:22:47complaining about racism and sexism a
- 00:22:49lot of people realized that making
- 00:22:52racist and sexist jokes was a great way
- 00:22:56to trigger them unfortunately I think
- 00:22:59that inadvertently created a more
- 00:23:02Earnest pipeline of sorts people
- 00:23:05constantly made fun of how weak and thin
- 00:23:08skinned the sjws were snowflakes they
- 00:23:12were constantly called it turned into a
- 00:23:15cottage industry when Anita sarkeesian
- 00:23:19uploaded a video for example it was like
- 00:23:21a gold rush
- 00:23:24anti-sjws would download the video tear
- 00:23:26it apart make fun of it criticize it
- 00:23:28re-uploaded and collect the ad rev it
- 00:23:31was almost like a race and that process
- 00:23:35was repeated for all sorts of people
- 00:23:39deemed
- 00:23:40sjw the people advocating for sjw causes
- 00:23:45were essentially funding their own
- 00:23:49opposition the cameras turned to college
- 00:23:53campuses where there were plenty of
- 00:23:55young people who were excited about
- 00:23:57fighting back Against Racism and sexism
- 00:24:00and because they were young maybe they
- 00:24:03weren't the best at expressing
- 00:24:05themselves and maybe they did not
- 00:24:07realize that their own emotion and
- 00:24:10passion was the lifeblood of the comedic
- 00:24:13skits that would use them as
- 00:24:17punchlines I have no doubt that entire
- 00:24:20mortgages have been paid off just from
- 00:24:23making fun of college
- 00:24:25kids and so the anti- SJ W movement grew
- 00:24:29into a juggernaut starting out as just
- 00:24:33purely a comedic response trolling and
- 00:24:37mocking but then gradually morphed into
- 00:24:40something very serious and political an
- 00:24:44actual movement the unserious racist and
- 00:24:49sexist jokes morphed into sincerely held
- 00:24:53beliefs and political
- 00:24:56stances and I noticed that those who
- 00:24:59spoke out against the obsessive were
- 00:25:02becoming quite obsessive themselves you
- 00:25:07are what you
- 00:25:08hate Donald Trump was very much a
- 00:25:12centerpiece of that backlash he came up
- 00:25:15during a very unique moment of the
- 00:25:17political History of the United States
- 00:25:20conventional wisdom regarding political
- 00:25:22correctness went right out the window
- 00:25:26the stage at that time was set in such a
- 00:25:28way that a lot of people didn't care how
- 00:25:32offensive Trump was they were tired of
- 00:25:36the offense takers and even wanted him
- 00:25:39to be as offensive as possible just as a
- 00:25:42[ __ ] you essentially that is what became
- 00:25:46fashionable be offensive of course there
- 00:25:50were a lot of people who were still
- 00:25:52highly disturbed by Trump but not enough
- 00:25:55to keep him from being elected and that
- 00:25:58was a mandate against political
- 00:26:01correctness it was pretty much explicit
- 00:26:05permission and other politicians got the
- 00:26:08message loud and clear that was the
- 00:26:11beginning of the turning point for me
- 00:26:14though I never voted for Trump in 2016
- 00:26:18after he won I was one of the people
- 00:26:21telling others to calm down that it
- 00:26:24wasn't a big deal don't
- 00:26:26overreact I admit that I even did some
- 00:26:30partaking in making fun of people who
- 00:26:33were very upset about the Trump Victory
- 00:26:36and I am not proud of that uh afterward
- 00:26:42everything kicked into high gear the
- 00:26:45anti-sjw content went on steroids
- 00:26:48feminist owned compilations became super
- 00:26:52popular owning college kids every debate
- 00:26:55had to be about some sjw getting utterly
- 00:26:59destroyed all caps the internet was
- 00:27:03totally saturated with content
- 00:27:06mercilessly mocking anyone who even
- 00:27:09mentioned anything about racism or
- 00:27:12sexism anyone who would do such a thing
- 00:27:15was accused of virtue signaling and
- 00:27:18slapped with the sjw or woke label the
- 00:27:22term woke was starting to get used more
- 00:27:25at this point it was becoming Main
- 00:27:28stream even politicians and old ladies
- 00:27:31were using the word woke in their many
- 00:27:35complaints and I started seeing some
- 00:27:38signs that Disturbed me very much
- 00:27:41everything was being highly
- 00:27:43exaggerated and the jokes and the comedy
- 00:27:46gradually shifted into the realm of
- 00:27:49anger and hatred the anti sjws took on
- 00:27:53the obsessive nature of the people they
- 00:27:56criticized and adopted it for themselves
- 00:28:00entirely unintentionally I'm sure
- 00:28:02because if they could actually see
- 00:28:04themselves objectively I don't think
- 00:28:06they would like what they saw and that
- 00:28:08is of course a lack of selfawareness see
- 00:28:13now it wasn't a movement about just
- 00:28:15merely getting offended about something
- 00:28:17they happen to see or hear it was a
- 00:28:21movement that actively sought out
- 00:28:23offence to point at like they actively
- 00:28:27desired to be offended no longer was it
- 00:28:31a movement about laughing at anger it
- 00:28:33was a movement about getting angry
- 00:28:36suddenly the rule that inspired you mad
- 00:28:39bra no longer applied the rules changed
- 00:28:43when the offense changed now the winner
- 00:28:46was whoever could get the most angry but
- 00:28:49that was still a double standard if the
- 00:28:52other side got angry it was still funny
- 00:28:55and mocked but if your side got angry
- 00:28:58it was based and applauded consider this
- 00:29:02woman you've all seen this image this is
- 00:29:05the face of a billion thumbnails still
- 00:29:09used on uploads and memes to this day
- 00:29:13have you ever seen the source material
- 00:29:15it's quite
- 00:29:17short there's not rapists coming into
- 00:29:19just cuz they're refugees doesn't mean
- 00:29:20they're [ __ ] rapists and raping
- 00:29:22people in
- 00:29:23Germany my parents are [ __ ] parents
- 00:29:26are
- 00:29:28no not even a [ __ ] big
- 00:29:30percentage how many wom in the US raped
- 00:29:33you how many
- 00:29:36in that's a that's a crisis a crisis
- 00:29:54exctly you I want you all love you
- 00:29:59I love you all this woman did not get
- 00:30:01triggered or belligerent or even a
- 00:30:04fraction as excited or angry as any one
- 00:30:07of us has ever been before if you look
- 00:30:10at the comment section you'll see that
- 00:30:13everyone openly realizes it and admits
- 00:30:16it and feels bad for how she was
- 00:30:19immortalized she was the only one in the
- 00:30:22argument actually offering statistics
- 00:30:25rather than emotions but there's one one
- 00:30:28frame in which she made a funny face now
- 00:30:33her entire existence is encapsulated by
- 00:30:36that that's how absurd the
- 00:30:41anti-sjw movement became when they
- 00:30:45sought off fence even a single
- 00:30:50frame was enough for them to latch on to
- 00:30:53was enough for them to convict and
- 00:30:56condemn you
- 00:30:58suddenly around them you had to walk
- 00:31:02upon the thinnest of eggshells what's
- 00:31:05especially funny about this meme is that
- 00:31:07the source material originally came from
- 00:31:10The Alex Jones Channel and we all know
- 00:31:12how common collected Alex Jones
- 00:31:17[Music]
- 00:31:20is the
- 00:31:22anti-woke had become obsessive
- 00:31:25hypocritical lacked self-awareness Ness
- 00:31:28and Incredibly easily offended today the
- 00:31:34nas sarkeesian business model is
- 00:31:36extremely successful in the opposite
- 00:31:40direction she became the model for the
- 00:31:43very people who hated her guts now we
- 00:31:47have reverse sarkeesian media critics
- 00:31:50who consume movies and video games with
- 00:31:52the objective to actively seek out
- 00:31:55whatever in them can be conru as being
- 00:31:59woke and they are legion the critical
- 00:32:02Drinker nerdrotic the quartering heel
- 00:32:05versus Baby Face Etc are all reverse
- 00:32:09sarkeesian but far more fanatical than
- 00:32:12she ever was they can't simply enjoy a
- 00:32:16movie or video game for what it is no
- 00:32:18they have to actively examine it through
- 00:32:20an anti-woke magnifying glass to
- 00:32:24determine if someone is black who should
- 00:32:26not be black to determine if a woman is
- 00:32:29being portrayed in a role that has
- 00:32:31deviated too far from their traditional
- 00:32:34expectations to determine if someone
- 00:32:37said or did something that was just too
- 00:32:40gay because that would be pushing an
- 00:32:43agenda which they call the
- 00:32:46message now it's all about
- 00:32:49deconstructing media with a fine tooth
- 00:32:52comb to uncover any little detail that
- 00:32:55could possibly be used as red meat for a
- 00:32:59voracious anti-woke audience
- 00:33:02offense
- 00:33:04perfected and they can be as triggered
- 00:33:06as they want to be see that's the double
- 00:33:09standard this woman cannot afford to
- 00:33:13make a single frame of a funny face
- 00:33:17without her expression being
- 00:33:19immortalized in a billion thumbnails but
- 00:33:22this guy can literally scream at the
- 00:33:25camera for 15 minutes
- 00:33:28because an RPG ask the preferred pronoun
- 00:33:31for his character and he even uses her
- 00:33:34face in his thumbnails
- 00:33:38hypocrisy perfected this woman is quite
- 00:33:42routinely mocked another face of a
- 00:33:44billion memes and thumbnails 5 seconds
- 00:33:48or so of uncontrolled despair about the
- 00:33:51president of the United States a topic
- 00:33:54of actual consequence but 15 minutes
- 00:33:58of even more rage over a pronoun in a
- 00:34:02video game and the same people call it
- 00:34:06based in 2015 on my alternate Channel
- 00:34:10called Dark Antics I made a satire
- 00:34:14critiquing the shallowness of social
- 00:34:16justice media criticism it even picked
- 00:34:20up some Traction in the mainstream media
- 00:34:22like the independent basically I used
- 00:34:26the format of nit picking media that
- 00:34:29presented bald people in a negative
- 00:34:32light this was as easy as pointing out
- 00:34:35all the many bad or evil characters who
- 00:34:38were bald and pointing out the flaws of
- 00:34:42good characters who were bald this was
- 00:34:45exceptionally easy to do essentially a
- 00:34:48heads I win tails you lose way of doing
- 00:34:51things so no matter what narrative you
- 00:34:54want to push you can use it to shoe corn
- 00:34:58perceived problems into virtually any
- 00:35:01movie now in the description I called it
- 00:35:04a a criticism of how professional
- 00:35:06victims uh critique media but notice
- 00:35:09that I never privated that video like I
- 00:35:13did with my popular
- 00:35:15anti-sjw cartoon why well because
- 00:35:20today now that video perfectly applies
- 00:35:25to the anti-woke
- 00:35:29what happened is that they became what
- 00:35:32they hated the anti-woke became the woke
- 00:35:37or at least their own characterization
- 00:35:39of what the woke is but it's even worse
- 00:35:43than that the
- 00:35:45anti-woke perfected being their own
- 00:35:48characterization of woke turned it into
- 00:35:51a standardized business model even even
- 00:35:55their own slogan get woke go broke is
- 00:35:58tcid admission they took what Anita
- 00:36:01sarkeesian
- 00:36:03pioneered and perfected it in the
- 00:36:06opposite
- 00:36:07direction now we have grown men with
- 00:36:10beards wearing flannel shirts making
- 00:36:13millions of dollars obsessively
- 00:36:15scrutinizing the development of the next
- 00:36:17Snow White movie grown men actively
- 00:36:21earnestly seeking ways to be triggered
- 00:36:23by a Barbie
- 00:36:25movie Ben shapir
- 00:36:28created a right-wing media Empire and
- 00:36:31yet there he is with the rest of them
- 00:36:34burning Barbie dolls like a lunatic this
- 00:36:37grown man with children had a camera set
- 00:36:41up in front of a metal garbage can so
- 00:36:44that he could do a toy burning
- 00:36:47performance it's literally performative
- 00:36:51outrage the epitome of professional
- 00:36:55victimhood they're so far that they have
- 00:36:58no idea how embarrassing they are how
- 00:37:01cringe they are it's gotten to the point
- 00:37:04that a Fox News adult 80-year-old can be
- 00:37:08more concerned about the wokes than
- 00:37:11about losing their social security and
- 00:37:14lately more and more I'm thinking that's
- 00:37:17by
- 00:37:19Design as I observed this massive
- 00:37:22transition I realized that it was not
- 00:37:26wokeness that I disliked it was
- 00:37:29obsessive behavior and having to walk on
- 00:37:32eggshells around people and obsessive
- 00:37:35behavior is not exclusive to wokeness
- 00:37:38nor is it even a requisite of it right
- 00:37:41now today the anti-woke behaves a
- 00:37:44hundred times more like the woke than
- 00:37:46the woke used to right now today I self
- 00:37:50censor more when I talk to someone I
- 00:37:54consider anti-woke than someone I
- 00:37:57consider woke I have to eliminate entire
- 00:38:01words from my vocabulary like CIS or
- 00:38:05privileg or patriarchy or transphobic
- 00:38:08and a million other words because I know
- 00:38:11it will trigger a defense response that
- 00:38:15will completely shut down their ability
- 00:38:17to listen to what I actually say or or
- 00:38:21have a good faith conversation at all
- 00:38:24and I learned that from experience and
- 00:38:27especially potent drug of the anti-woke
- 00:38:31is trans people I don't really
- 00:38:33understand why but when some people
- 00:38:36start being critical of trans people
- 00:38:39they never stop it's addictive to them
- 00:38:43it snowballs and eventually becomes
- 00:38:46their entire personality
- 00:38:49obsessive it's really sad to see I think
- 00:38:53there have been people who have done
- 00:38:55that with Donald Trump and what which
- 00:38:57they talk about nothing else except
- 00:39:00Donald Trump so they were accused of
- 00:39:03having Trump derangement syndrome of
- 00:39:06course that term is thrown around too
- 00:39:08Loosely now to describe anyone who
- 00:39:11merely criticizes him which is
- 00:39:13ridiculous but originally it was meant
- 00:39:17to describe people who were obsessed
- 00:39:20with Donald Trump people who would bring
- 00:39:22him up out of the blue when nobody else
- 00:39:25was talking about him
- 00:39:27and I think that concept now perfectly
- 00:39:32applies to people who get lost in
- 00:39:34anti-trans rhetoric they have trans
- 00:39:38derangement syndrome no matter the topic
- 00:39:41they'll bring up trans people they'll
- 00:39:43ask you what is a woman out of the blue
- 00:39:47trans people are constantly on their
- 00:39:49minds obsessive the most prominent of
- 00:39:52these people is JK Rowling obsession
- 00:39:56with trans people
- 00:39:57seems to be very detrimental to her
- 00:40:01mental health to the point in which it's
- 00:40:0390% of what she talks about now but
- 00:40:07before that she was a normal person who
- 00:40:10experienced a wonderful dream of writing
- 00:40:13a successful series of novels that were
- 00:40:16beloved worldwide and became Classic
- 00:40:19Movies she was a cultural icon and was
- 00:40:22basically given a blank page to write
- 00:40:25whatever she wanted and have a massive
- 00:40:28highly enthusiastic audience for it but
- 00:40:32what did she do
- 00:40:33instead she became obsessed with the
- 00:40:37steady dopamine drip of anti-trans
- 00:40:41Twitter it's sort of like watching an
- 00:40:43Olympic gold medalist destroy their body
- 00:40:47with crack
- 00:40:48cocaine I gradually realized that I
- 00:40:51don't have a problem with woke people
- 00:40:55they're just people with opinion like
- 00:40:57anyone else and they may be opinions
- 00:41:00with which I agree or disagree no big
- 00:41:03deal but what I do have a problem with
- 00:41:06is Obsession and what I learned was that
- 00:41:10woke people were being unjustly
- 00:41:13portrayed solely as the obsessive ones
- 00:41:17and that's far from the truth what
- 00:41:19anti-woke critics often tell you is that
- 00:41:23they're all sick and tired of politics
- 00:41:26being insert into everything but
- 00:41:29politics has been a major part of art
- 00:41:33throughout all of history what they
- 00:41:36really mean is that they only want their
- 00:41:39preferred politics to be
- 00:41:42portrayed it's even worse if one of the
- 00:41:45things that defines you is seen as
- 00:41:49political because then how could you
- 00:41:52possibly have anything to do with art
- 00:41:55without someone accusing you of making
- 00:41:58it political Suddenly It's political to
- 00:42:02have an interracial relationship in a
- 00:42:05movie or political if someone who is gay
- 00:42:09is in a video game the word political
- 00:42:13just becomes proxy for
- 00:42:16bigotry oh I don't like politics in my
- 00:42:20media oh what's politics well black
- 00:42:25people gay people strong independent
- 00:42:28women Etc oh see the word political is
- 00:42:32doing a lot of work there isn't it you
- 00:42:34want to be a bigot but you don't want to
- 00:42:37be seen as a bigot they want their cake
- 00:42:40and they want to eat it too you see
- 00:42:43remember when I said that my mere
- 00:42:46existence as a
- 00:42:47non-believer offended religious people
- 00:42:51well it turns out that I wasn't alone
- 00:42:55the existence of of all kinds of other
- 00:42:59people can be considered quite offensive
- 00:43:02and quite triggering if they dare to set
- 00:43:06foot out of the closet and into any sort
- 00:43:08of popular
- 00:43:10media let's do a little thought
- 00:43:13experiment two movies directed by James
- 00:43:17Cameron are extremely beloved and quite
- 00:43:21unique because they are sequels to
- 00:43:23Classics and it is widely accepted that
- 00:43:27un likee most sequels not only did he
- 00:43:30respect the source material but many
- 00:43:33would argue that he actually improved
- 00:43:35upon it and those two movies are of
- 00:43:38course Terminator 2 and Aliens now I
- 00:43:43very much enjoyed both of those movies
- 00:43:46and so did most other people who watched
- 00:43:49them I saw them both in the theaters on
- 00:43:52the first day they were released to many
- 00:43:55of us they were a major part of our
- 00:43:58childhoods and for that reason they get
- 00:44:02grandfathered in to the anti-woke
- 00:44:05movement so that they are off
- 00:44:09limits they are even used as the
- 00:44:11quintessential goto examples that
- 00:44:15anti-woke critics will use to show how
- 00:44:18women protagonists should be done and
- 00:44:20that they are not bigots after all
- 00:44:23because they also enjoyed those movies
- 00:44:28but imagine if either one of those
- 00:44:31movies came out now it's a very
- 00:44:35different climate now and those movies
- 00:44:38would be prime material to be
- 00:44:42deconstructed by anti-woke critics which
- 00:44:46essentially can be done to literally any
- 00:44:49movie because it's just shallow
- 00:44:52ideological offense
- 00:44:55hunting you see Ellen Ripley and Sarah
- 00:44:59Connor are essentially the exact same
- 00:45:02person with the exact same character Arc
- 00:45:06they both started out as vulnerable
- 00:45:08women in horror movies being hunted by a
- 00:45:11seemingly Unstoppable
- 00:45:14monster and then in their sequels they
- 00:45:17both become iconic badasses protecting
- 00:45:21their children fighting back against the
- 00:45:24monsters in action oriented
- 00:45:27movies now as an anti-woke critic you
- 00:45:31might say that they both transitioned
- 00:45:34from women to men and this would no
- 00:45:38doubt be part of some nefarious woke
- 00:45:42agenda maybe you could even mention
- 00:45:44something about Yuri
- 00:45:46bezmenov now how would these movies be
- 00:45:48broken down by an anti-woke critic if
- 00:45:52they came out today well look at Sarah
- 00:45:55Connor she went from being a classically
- 00:45:57feminine woman desired by the man who
- 00:46:00came to save her to a ripped masculine
- 00:46:03woman who fights like a man in the first
- 00:46:07movie she knew her place do exactly what
- 00:46:10I say
- 00:46:12exactly don't move unless I say don't
- 00:46:14make a sound unless I say do you
- 00:46:17understand but in the second movie she's
- 00:46:19the one giving the men orders shut up
- 00:46:23shut up shut up shut up I'm not going to
- 00:46:25let you do it I need clothes food in one
- 00:46:28of your trucks hey how about the
- 00:46:30feelings out of my [ __ ] Dee now
- 00:46:32Enrique look at Ellen Ripley an
- 00:46:35attractive young woman who stood no
- 00:46:37chance against a single alien that
- 00:46:39killed the entire crew of her ship
- 00:46:41someone who the camera did not shy away
- 00:46:44from when it came to seeing her feminine
- 00:46:47body but in the second movie with zero
- 00:46:50training she managed to outs survive and
- 00:46:54outgun an entire Elite Marine mean
- 00:46:57platoon who all died except for the one
- 00:47:01Corporal who needed her to save him they
- 00:47:04chopped off all her hair and dropped her
- 00:47:06into a world where the women wear men's
- 00:47:09suits and have more muscles than the men
- 00:47:11do in the first movie The Terminator was
- 00:47:14badass but in the second movie they
- 00:47:16turned him into a punchline no doubt an
- 00:47:18influence of the woke
- 00:47:21MCU what would they say about the man
- 00:47:23who was most directly responsible for
- 00:47:26the development of Skynet and hence the
- 00:47:28nuclear Holocaust oh miles Bennett Dyson
- 00:47:32an obvious Dei hire no wonder sky that
- 00:47:37happened and what's this John Connor is
- 00:47:40a juvenile delinquent and ends up in a
- 00:47:43foster home with shitty parents all
- 00:47:46white people while Dyson has a fully
- 00:47:49intact happy nuclear family obvious
- 00:47:53Hollywood propaganda the first time the
- 00:47:56colonial Marines encounter the aliens
- 00:47:59it's a Slaughter but who saves them
- 00:48:02Gorman a lieutenant of the Marines no of
- 00:48:05course not he naturally panics and
- 00:48:07freezes but Ripley the Invincible Mary
- 00:48:11Sue takes control charges in and saves
- 00:48:15everybody wait a minute what what did I
- 00:48:17call them by the way colonial Marines
- 00:48:19you mean colonizers right and what
- 00:48:21happens to them they all get killed yet
- 00:48:24another obvious heavy-handed Hollywood
- 00:48:26message kill the
- 00:48:28colonizers and what's the main reason
- 00:48:30they all die well they got stranded how'
- 00:48:33they get stranded their Dropship crashed
- 00:48:35who was piloting their drop ship Dei
- 00:48:38hire that's who and how was Sarah in the
- 00:48:42gang able to get past security of
- 00:48:44cyberdine systems Dei hire in the first
- 00:48:48movie Sarah did nothing but run and hide
- 00:48:51but now she fights like a man and beats
- 00:48:53up only men but I'm sure that isn't part
- 00:48:56of some woke agenda right Hollywood by
- 00:48:59the way Sarah Connor wasn't the only one
- 00:49:01who transitioned from female to male in
- 00:49:04Terminator to see the first Terminator
- 00:49:07was very obviously male but the new
- 00:49:10modern woke Terminator it literally
- 00:49:14transitions from female to male right
- 00:49:16before our very eyes multiple times is
- 00:49:20it male is it female neither both
- 00:49:24apparently it's what the wokes call
- 00:49:26gender fluid wait a minute liquid metal
- 00:49:30gender fluid the Hollywood message is
- 00:49:33added again and when it transitions into
- 00:49:36a man it's not just any man but a cop
- 00:49:40multiple different cops of course they
- 00:49:42have to play into the acab narrative by
- 00:49:45presenting the cop as the bad guy
- 00:49:47spitting in the face of the classic
- 00:49:48first movie where the cops were the good
- 00:49:51guys but now they're the bad guys and
- 00:49:53where does Sarah and John Connor find
- 00:49:55help from this Unstoppable cop well with
- 00:49:57a bunch of illegals of course they're
- 00:49:59helpless without the illegals who Supply
- 00:50:02them with plenty of illegal guns to
- 00:50:04fight against the Invincible cop try
- 00:50:07just try to be a little more
- 00:50:08heavy-handed with the message Hollywood
- 00:50:11we're not getting it yet and what's the
- 00:50:13true nature of the aliens anyway why are
- 00:50:16they such formidable opponents well all
- 00:50:19the aliens you actually see are just
- 00:50:22lowly male drones serving a queen that's
- 00:50:26right in the first movie the alien was a
- 00:50:29sigma male but in the second movie it's
- 00:50:32a
- 00:50:33matriarchy there's like one female that
- 00:50:36runs the whole show yes the queen yeah
- 00:50:39the Mama she's badass man I mean big
- 00:50:43Ripley charges in and starts aborting
- 00:50:46all The Unborn aliens which of course
- 00:50:48triggers the queen who chases after
- 00:50:50Ripley and how does she end up defeating
- 00:50:52the queen anyway oh that's right
- 00:50:55remember that scene where she proves
- 00:50:57that a woman can use a loader better
- 00:50:59than the men the well-trained Marine men
- 00:51:03who have no choice but to protect their
- 00:51:05fragile egos by laughing at
- 00:51:08[Music]
- 00:51:10her well that's what she uses to face
- 00:51:13the queen a strong black
- 00:51:17female she
- 00:51:20[Music]
- 00:51:22knew and nobody believed her
- 00:51:26now I could go on and on and on and on
- 00:51:29but clearly the point is that the
- 00:51:32Timeless Classics alien and Terminator
- 00:51:36were bastardized by woke Hollywood
- 00:51:40sequels nobody asked for all right
- 00:51:43that's enough you get the idea it's
- 00:51:46analysis that's so shallow you can
- 00:51:50literally invent a fence into anything
- 00:51:53you want and then claim it's part of
- 00:51:56some nefarious agenda it's so
- 00:52:00insufferable when someone uses their own
- 00:52:04obsessive ideology to drive their
- 00:52:07criticism of
- 00:52:09something now if you don't want an
- 00:52:12agenda driven critique of movies in
- 00:52:15either direction you can look to Someone
- 00:52:18Like A A Jeremy John's or a redl media
- 00:52:22to give a more objective and
- 00:52:23knowledgeable critique of movies but not
- 00:52:26the people who are constantly on the
- 00:52:29hunt for wokeism so that they can feed
- 00:52:32outrage to their audiences you know who
- 00:52:35they
- 00:52:36are and that's their purpose it it isn't
- 00:52:39to provide you with any insight about
- 00:52:42whether you would like or dislike a
- 00:52:44movie or game it's to provide you with
- 00:52:49anger anger sells anger gets clicks
- 00:52:54outrage the objective is now to make you
- 00:52:59mad brah and by the old standard they're
- 00:53:03owning their own audiences and their own
- 00:53:06audiences don't even realize it so yeah
- 00:53:1010 years ago I jumped on that anti-woke
- 00:53:14bandwagon ever so briefly before I
- 00:53:18realized what it actually was in
- 00:53:21obsessive hypocritical ideology that was
- 00:53:24rooted in demographic
- 00:53:27hatred much respect to the people who
- 00:53:30never jumped on board that bandwagon you
- 00:53:33were way ahead of the
- 00:53:35curve now if you were on it until more
- 00:53:38recently well at least you found your
- 00:53:41way off eventually it takes a lot of
- 00:53:44Integrity to admit when you're wrong
- 00:53:46especially after being wrong for several
- 00:53:50years we should always be willing to
- 00:53:52forgive and
- 00:53:54welcome now if you're still on that
- 00:53:57bandwagon what the [ __ ] are you doing
- 00:54:00get your [ __ ]
- 00:54:02together now we even have people who
- 00:54:05were prominent atheists like Sam Harris
- 00:54:08and Richard Dawkins and aan hery Ali
- 00:54:12crying about the wokeness boogeyman to
- 00:54:15the point that some of them are even
- 00:54:17claiming to be culturally Christian or
- 00:54:20even outright fully Christian now that's
- 00:54:24how shallow the name nature of this
- 00:54:27Beast has become but why Christianity
- 00:54:31well because they're not buying into
- 00:54:34real Christianity the Christianity of
- 00:54:37Jesus Christ which is very woke and
- 00:54:41concerned with the downrod and and
- 00:54:43marginalized they're buying into the
- 00:54:46modern commercialized propagandized far
- 00:54:50right version of Christianity because
- 00:54:52they think it's a bullwark against
- 00:54:55wokeness
- 00:54:57it's really sad to
- 00:54:59see it's like watching a starving person
- 00:55:04voraciously eat poison
