teams and all the time. Summer, doesn't

matter what season, he was playing

basketball. Cannot take one without the

other. And I was thinking about that

with my son. You cannot play basketball

in school without good grades.

They would do what? They will sit you

down till you get your grades up. Or if

and develop our skills that we have in

had two houses, my ex-husband and I. We

had two homes and we got a divorce. They

split the homes of you get one, he get

one. I wanted the bigger house.

But at the end of it, I end up with the

one that I needed to end up want because

that one was paid off. So I had no

mortgage. He had the mortgage. But I had

to be faithful because when I first

bought that house, I bought the house to

for my two children who was not even

grown yet. But I was thinking about

their future. So in the meantime, I

start renting out the house until one of

them become became grown.

But I end up eventually had to stay in

the rental home.

But it was a teaching lesson in that

home. And I had to stay in that house

for nine years

because there was some development that

needs to take place in me. There was

some growth that I had to go through. I

kept saying to God, "This is not the
00:12:45
type of house for me. This is I
00:12:48
shouldn't even be living on this street.

God know who I am.

You know, all the stuff that I do

at that time. I was on television. I'm

on television. I should not be living on
00:13:01
this street in this house, this type of
00:13:03
house.

He said, "Yeah, you at the right place

cuz I got to humble you.

I got to change your thinking. You got

to learn how to be thankful

over the little." So, I had to get busy.

First, I wouldn't do nothing in that

house. I was so upset that I was in the

house.

But eventually he got g begin to deal

with my mind. Fix the house up.

Well, that should have been your

standard from day one. But he had to

deal with me

and I had to be faithful and I got the

house and I began to do things and give

myself projects to do around the house.

Took me nine years

to get to the point

where he would say, "All right, now go

look for you a new house.

Now you're ready." But I had to go

through a process.

I had to go through some changes.

I had to get some development done in

me. I had to be thankful

thankful for that house. I was paid for.

All I have to do is pay the taxes.

So, I had to learn to just be thankful

for the little.

When you're faithful and thankful over

And then when the day finally came, he

for this young lady for a high school

I took some what I did with my son

incorporate and then took some extra.

She was my first student.

I was at the University of Michigan

finishing up my bachelor's degree at

that time and I had started an
