video? In this video, we're going to be
  • 00:00:21
    talking about cleansing hacks. We're
  • 00:00:24
going to give you some of our best tips
  • 00:00:26
to cleanse your skin to have the best
  • 00:00:28

great job at it. We're going to talk
  • 00:00:33
about some of the things we learned
  • 00:00:34
along the way. We're also going to be
  • 00:00:35
talking about what's happening in this
  • 00:00:36
video. How are these sebaceous filaments
  • 00:00:39
just melting out of the nose and is that
  • 00:00:41
the is that the hack to glass skin?
  • 00:00:43
We're going to find out. And also in
  • 00:00:44
this video, we'll have some updates on
  • 00:00:45
some skincare devices you can use at
  • 00:00:47
home. And uh for a very limited time,
  • 00:00:50
you'll have like a very very nice
  • 00:00:52
bundle, basically a buy one get one free
  • 00:00:54
associated with this. Uh so take
  • 00:00:56
advantage of that while you can. Yeah.
  • 00:00:58

So, stay in tuned for that. I think a
  • 00:01:04

we're super excited to show this to you
  • 00:01:09
and the special deal that they're
  • 00:01:10
having. It's part of our cleansing hack.
  • 00:01:11
So, it fits really well into this video.
  • 00:01:13
So, all thing cleansing hacks, here we
  • 00:01:15
    go. Here we go.
  • 00:01:19
    [Music]
  • 00:01:21
In order to avoid rage baiting all of
  • 00:01:23
you, we're going to start with the first
  • 00:01:25
thing that we saw when we opened this
  • 00:01:26
video, which is the first hack, which is
  • 00:01:29
using a cleansing oil on the skin. Now,
  • 00:01:32
that's what's happening in that video
  • 00:01:33
that you saw. So, and there's hundreds
  • 00:01:35
of videos like this on Tik Tok. They're
  • 00:01:37
everywhere. They always go viral, but
  • 00:01:39
    it's invariably somebody who's showing a
  • 00:01:40
lot of clogged pores in their nose. A
  • 00:01:42
lot of times we call these sebaceous
  • 00:01:44
filaments. They're filled up, dead skin
  • 00:01:46
cells that build up into your pores. And
  • 00:01:48
your pores are filled with sebum and
  • 00:01:51
other types of oils that build up in
  • 00:01:52
    there. And your traditional cleansers,
  • 00:01:54
they do a good job at a surface level
  • 00:01:56
getting into your pores, but they're not
  • 00:01:59
the best at getting in there because of
  • 00:02:01
the oils, right? A lot of times water
  • 00:02:03
repels oil and oil repels water. And so
  • 00:02:05
    your traditional surfactants aren't
  • 00:02:07
great at getting in there. So the two
  • 00:02:09
ingredients that are really good at
  • 00:02:10
getting in there are any type of oil and
  • 00:02:12
salicylic acid. And so when you use an
  • 00:02:15
    oil-based cleanser, it's able to
  • 00:02:17
    dissolve those sebaceous filaments and
  • 00:02:19
help to remove them out of your pores,
  • 00:02:21
right? So like dissolves like it helps
  • 00:02:23
break up the oil. Now I think
  • 00:02:25
interestingly I I see two groups of
  • 00:02:27
people on this. It's either a complete
  • 00:02:28
scam or it's a miracle. And I think the
  • 00:02:31
answer is both. Because when you have a
  • 00:02:34
person who has clogged pores that are
  • 00:02:35
full of oil, you might actually get some
  • 00:02:38
of that sebaceous filament debris that
  • 00:02:40
you're looking for on your finger, you
  • 00:02:41
have a good experience with this type of
  • 00:02:43
cleanser. If you are someone who
  • 00:02:45
actually just has large pores that are
  • 00:02:46
very empty, and I've seen this, that's
  • 00:02:48
my experience. U larger pores, but
  • 00:02:51
really not much oil buildup in them,
  • 00:02:52
you're not going to have any success
  • 00:02:53
with this because there's really not
  • 00:02:55
much to break down. it's actually the
  • 00:02:56
structure of the pore that you're
  • 00:02:57
noticing and you will not get that
  • 00:02:58
    sebaceous filament buildup either. So,
  • 00:03:01
um really those are the two experiences
  • 00:03:02
I see with it, but for the right person
  • 00:03:03
it can work very well. Yeah, I
  • 00:03:06
completely agree with that. And the
  • 00:03:08
other thing is a lot of these videos
  • 00:03:09
that you see, people are definitely
  • 00:03:11
    cheating. They're definitely, you know,
  • 00:03:13
using filters. Uh they're more zoomed in
  • 00:03:16
on the initial photos than they are on
  • 00:03:17
the outro. So, don't expect to see
  • 00:03:19
tremendous results. But the first hack
  • 00:03:21
that we have here is to use a cleansing
  • 00:03:23
oil to dissolve some of the sebaceous
  • 00:03:25
filaments that have built up into your
  • 00:03:26
pores. And a good option here is the one
  • 00:03:29
from Anua that they mentioned there. And
  • 00:03:31
there are plenty of other oil cleansers
  • 00:03:32
that we can list in the description as
  • 00:03:33
    well.
  • 00:03:34
Yeah. And my my my favorite for a long
  • 00:03:35
time has been the one from Numbuzen. I
  • 00:03:37
can't remember if it's number one or
  • 00:03:38
number five. We'll show it here for you,
  • 00:03:39
too. I love that one. So, a lot of good
  • 00:03:41
options. You don't have to just stick
  • 00:03:42
with the one in the video. So, next up,
  • 00:03:47
next up is headbands and wristbands when
  • 00:03:50
you're cleansing. So, if you're like me,
  • 00:03:53
you hate making a mess when you cleanse.
  • 00:03:55
You also don't like getting your hair
  • 00:03:57
wet. So, I'm somebody who has a lot of
  • 00:03:58
product in my hair when I go to bed. I
  • 00:04:01
don't necessarily want that my hair to
  • 00:04:02
get wet and then drip product into my
  • 00:04:04
face. Many of you have used hairspray
  • 00:04:06
throughout the day, different types of
  • 00:04:08
    gels, different types of heat
  • 00:04:09
protectants. And so, if you get wet and
  • 00:04:11
it drips onto your face, not a great
  • 00:04:13
experience. Also, you don't want your
  • 00:04:14
hair to get wet when you're cleansing
  • 00:04:15
your face. And so, using something to
  • 00:04:18
keep your hair up and also keep your
  • 00:04:20
hair from getting wet is a really good
  • 00:04:22
hack. I'm not going to put this on. Dr.
  • 00:04:24
Maxwell has fully embraced his. You
  • 00:04:26
know, initially when we launched Remedy,
  • 00:04:28
we had these uh silk headbands. Um, and
  • 00:04:31
every now and then we order more
  • 00:04:32
inventory and sometimes we do some gift
  • 00:04:35
with purchases with them. Sometimes we
  • 00:04:36
continue to sell them, but sometimes
  • 00:04:38
    they're available. Um, currently they're
  • 00:04:40
they're not available. Um, so that's
  • 00:04:43
that's one way that you can do it. The
  • 00:04:44
other thing here that's also really good
  • 00:04:46
and something that other people pointed
  • 00:04:47
out to me online is wristbands also,
  • 00:04:49
right? Because nothing's worse than when
  • 00:04:51
you put your face into the sink and
  • 00:04:53
then, you know, water starts dripping
  • 00:04:55
down to your forearms and then that that
  • 00:04:57
water drips onto your floor and then
  • 00:04:59
your wife is very unhappy with you or
  • 00:05:01
your husband is very unhappy with you.
  • 00:05:03
    And so basically
  • 00:05:06
um having wristbands, which this is not
  • 00:05:07
a wristband, but any type of wristband
  • 00:05:09
will do. This will capture any water uh
  • 00:05:12
that's dripping down and really protect
  • 00:05:14
it from get dripping down to your elbows
  • 00:05:16
and then dripping onto the floor and
  • 00:05:18
causing a spill accident. So that's our
  • 00:05:20
    second hack. Headbands and wristbands.
  • 00:05:22
Yeah. But he believes in these actually
  • 00:05:23
if you go back to Dr. Shaw's original
  • 00:05:25
videos like way back way back he was
  • 00:05:27
wearing these from the beginning. And
  • 00:05:30
I'll be honest with you, I had no idea
  • 00:05:32
why. So uh this is something he truly
  • 00:05:34
believes in. He does it in his daily
  • 00:05:36
life. And there is actually a benefit to
  • 00:05:38
using these. I actually, you know, one
  • 00:05:40
really big benefit I I I like with these
  • 00:05:42
is uh when you're using ro gain or some
  • 00:05:44
sort of hair growth solution because you
  • 00:05:46
really want to keep that on the areas
  • 00:05:47
you want to grow hair. It will grow hair
  • 00:05:49
elsewhere. Um and so to keep that in a
  • 00:05:51
limited area in this case protecting
  • 00:05:53
your face from your scalp. Um conversely
  • 00:05:56
for other ingredients, you might be
  • 00:05:57
wanting to protect your scalp from your
  • 00:05:59
face. So another great way to use that
  • 00:06:01
if you're trying to grow hair. That's
  • 00:06:02
exactly actually how I use Roane. So I
  • 00:06:04
have my silk headband from Remedy. I put
  • 00:06:06
it here. I apply my Rogain and I make
  • 00:06:09
sure that it gets into that frontal area
  • 00:06:11
where I'm losing my most most of my
  • 00:06:12
hair. I slide it up and then I do the
  • 00:06:16
rest of my facial routine. So, um it's
  • 00:06:18
definitely a good way to keep these two
  • 00:06:20
areas separated from each other. And in
  • 00:06:22
fact, I also use the headband when I
  • 00:06:24
apply sunscreen because I very diligent
  • 00:06:26
about not getting sunscreen in my
  • 00:06:28
hairline because of some rare studies
  • 00:06:30
    out of Australia showing frontal
  • 00:06:31
    fibrosis alopecia from sunscreen use.
  • 00:06:34
And I'm still not saying that it causes
  • 00:06:36
hair loss. I'll never say that. But
  • 00:06:38
there is some correlation between these
  • 00:06:40
    two. Correlation doesn't prove
  • 00:06:41
causation. And so as somebody who's very
  • 00:06:44
um protective of my hairline, um I'm
  • 00:06:46
just doing everything I can to avoid any
  • 00:06:48
issues there. Yep. Sorry. And for sorry
  • 00:06:51
about the audio about a minute ago, my
  • 00:06:52
microphone gets tucked in a bend over.
  • 00:06:54
So um it just is what it is. Next up is
  • 00:06:57
something that we actually both have in
  • 00:06:59
our houses. Actually, I also have it
  • 00:07:01
    here in the Thank you.
  • 00:07:04
    Go ahead. Keep going.
  • 00:07:06
Okay. I also have one here in the
  • 00:07:08
office. Um, and it's something you do
  • 00:07:10
every single day. It is your shower. So,
  • 00:07:12
your shower water, your shower filter,
  • 00:07:14
and even also the water you use in your
  • 00:07:16
sink. And why is this important? So,
  • 00:07:18
this is one of those silent skin care
  • 00:07:20
steps just like laundry detergent. This
  • 00:07:22
is something you're doing every single
  • 00:07:23
day. And I think many of us have had the
  • 00:07:25
    experiences where we're traveling and
  • 00:07:27
we're like, "What is going on with my
  • 00:07:29
skin? What is going on with my hair? It
  • 00:07:31
    just falls different, lays different,
  • 00:07:32
like my skin is broken out, it looks
  • 00:07:34
rough." And really maybe the only thing
  • 00:07:36
that changed was the water you're
  • 00:07:38
experiencing on your skin. Yeah. So, I
  • 00:07:40
am a big believer in this. So, this is
  • 00:07:42
one of those things where you experience
  • 00:07:43
it anecdotally, right? You you you
  • 00:07:46
encounter it in your life and you're not
  • 00:07:48
sure if there is science behind it. And
  • 00:07:50
then and then when you were a kid, it
  • 00:07:52
was one of those things where, you know,
  • 00:07:54
you would say it and then everyone would
  • 00:07:55
agree, yeah, I feel the same way. And
  • 00:07:57
then we didn't have Google back then, so
  • 00:07:58
we couldn't verify that it was a thing.
  • 00:08:00
But now we have Google and we can prove
  • 00:08:01
that things are true. But this is one of
  • 00:08:03
those things where I always said, even
  • 00:08:04
since I was a young boy, that, you know,
  • 00:08:07
certain water made my skin worse, right?
  • 00:08:10
It either made my skin drier, um, it
  • 00:08:12
made me break out, it, you know,
  • 00:08:13
whatever, whatever it was. I noticed
  • 00:08:16
that if I was traveling or staying at
  • 00:08:18
someone else's house or I was staying at
  • 00:08:19
my grandma's house, um, anything like
  • 00:08:22
that, that when I used the water that my
  • 00:08:24
skin quality and my hair quality was
  • 00:08:26
different because of the quality of the
  • 00:08:28
water. And I think a lot of you
  • 00:08:29
experienced this and I've talked about
  • 00:08:31
this before, so I know a lot of people
  • 00:08:33
validated me in the comments. A lot of
  • 00:08:35
you feel this way as well, where you if
  • 00:08:37
the water where you live is not good for
  • 00:08:39
your skin. And there are certain areas
  • 00:08:40
where I lived where the water was
  • 00:08:41
horrible for my skin. And then I found
  • 00:08:43
the clinical studies to support it where
  • 00:08:45
there are studies that show that
  • 00:08:47
depending on the water hardness where
  • 00:08:48
you live, it can cause eczema. It can
  • 00:08:50
increase your risk of eczema. It can
  • 00:08:52
cause dry skin. It can make your
  • 00:08:53
    surfactants in your cleansers more
  • 00:08:56
stripping. So they can strip away your
  • 00:08:57
oils more. Not as much on acne or other
  • 00:08:59
things, but definitely on dry skin and
  • 00:09:01
irritation. The water quality makes a
  • 00:09:03
big difference. And the big culprit here
  • 00:09:05
is the calcium carbonate in your water
  • 00:09:07
that's causing that problem. And so
  • 00:09:09
short of getting full water system
  • 00:09:12
treatment, you can put water filters on
  • 00:09:14
your sink. And so there are a couple
  • 00:09:16
brands that have launched these and also
  • 00:09:18
you can put a water filter on your
  • 00:09:20
shower. And so I have these in my house.
  • 00:09:22
I believe in them strongly. I actually
  • 00:09:24
had a big problem with the water here in
  • 00:09:26
Tennessee until you put the water filter
  • 00:09:28
on the shower. And I notice it more in
  • 00:09:31
my hair than I notice it anywhere else.
  • 00:09:32
So my hair becomes like unmanageable,
  • 00:09:35
unstylable if the water is too hard
  • 00:09:37
where I am. So big fan of water filters.
  • 00:09:40
Again, I think I like the way that you
  • 00:09:41
said it. It's like a silent skincare
  • 00:09:43
step. Is it necessary? I would say no.
  • 00:09:45
Like, you know, I would do the basics
  • 00:09:47
first and then if you're thinking about,
  • 00:09:49
hey, like my skin is feeling dry or my
  • 00:09:50
hair is feeling dry, that's when you
  • 00:09:52
want to elevate it by making sure that
  • 00:09:54
your water quality is good. And so what
  • 00:09:56
Cure is doing very excitingly for us,
  • 00:09:59
which when he told me what the what the
  • 00:10:00
offer was, I was like there's that
  • 00:10:02
that's a pretty crazy insane good deal.
  • 00:10:04
So they're doing buy one shower filter,
  • 00:10:09
right? So overhead shower filter. This
  • 00:10:11
is a beautiful object. You know, Cure is
  • 00:10:13
becoming the Apple of skincare devices.
  • 00:10:15
I've said it before, but beautiful
  • 00:10:17
shower filter, right? And if you buy
  • 00:10:20
that, they're going to give you the
  • 00:10:21
    faucet filter. Is that right?
  • 00:10:23
    Mhm.
  • 00:10:23
The faucet filter for free. So that's a
  • 00:10:26
pretty sick deal. So these look super
  • 00:10:28
cool as you can see here. Now, what's
  • 00:10:30
really cool about the water filter, and
  • 00:10:32
they were the first to pioneer this
  • 00:10:33
because I remember when they showed this
  • 00:10:34
to me, I thought it was super cool and
  • 00:10:36
we helped advise them. So, huge fans of
  • 00:10:39
the brand, huge fan of the founders.
  • 00:10:41
We've had them on our podcast and
  • 00:10:43
they're overall just great people. And
  • 00:10:44
so, you attach this into your sh your
  • 00:10:47
fil your your sink. And then, um, you
  • 00:10:51
have the filter component to it, um,
  • 00:10:53
which you need to replace at a certain
  • 00:10:55
cadence, right? So you have this the
  • 00:10:57
filter component to it, but what's
  • 00:10:59
really cool about this is that you can
  • 00:11:01
actually turn the direction that the
  • 00:11:03
filter water comes out. So you can have
  • 00:11:05
it facing down, which is like the
  • 00:11:06
traditional way to have it. You can have
  • 00:11:08
it facing up towards you and then you
  • 00:11:11
could use it almost as like a splash
  • 00:11:13
sink, which is really cool. You could
  • 00:11:14
use it to drink water out of it, which
  • 00:11:16
is also really good. So you're getting a
  • 00:11:18
water filter facial cleanser and the key
  • 00:11:21
    thing here is importantly for
  • 00:11:23
performance the removal of that calcium
  • 00:11:25
carbonate carbonate and by removing the
  • 00:11:27
calcium carbonate your skin quality will
  • 00:11:29
be better right yeah and actually this
  • 00:11:31
is a I feel like this was made for me
  • 00:11:33
because back with the first iteration of
  • 00:11:34
these like they were fine but my main
  • 00:11:36
knock on it and I told the brand
  • 00:11:37
    founders I was like I I he doesn't do
  • 00:11:39
this apparently but when I'm brushing my
  • 00:11:41
teeth I get my face like under the sink
  • 00:11:44
to slurp water and then rinse and spit.
  • 00:11:46
I used to do that when I was like a
  • 00:11:48
baby. I feel like like I'm an adult now,
  • 00:11:50
so I use my hand to bring the I need to
  • 00:11:53
know in the comments. Are you a hand in
  • 00:11:56
in sip or are you a face under the sink,
  • 00:12:01
but I couldn't get my face under the old
  • 00:12:03
filter in my shallow sink. So, like now
  • 00:12:05
it's not an issue anymore. Super easy to
  • 00:12:06
install, easier than the old one. And
  • 00:12:08
the shower head filter, I mean, this was
  • 00:12:10
so easy to install, too. Like, I'm not a
  • 00:12:12
handy person and I knocked this out in
  • 00:12:14
just a couple of minutes. So, super easy
  • 00:12:15
to install. If that's a barrier to
  • 00:12:16
entry, don't let it be. Um, if I can do
  • 00:12:18
it, trust me, you can do it, too. So,
  • 00:12:22
pretty amazing deal and it's a good way
  • 00:12:23
to upgrade your skincare routine. I
  • 00:12:25
think the deal is limited to just this
  • 00:12:28
month only. So, we'll put a link below,
  • 00:12:30
you'll be able to shop the deal. You buy
  • 00:12:32
the the shower filter, you get the sink
  • 00:12:34
filter for free, and these are super
  • 00:12:36
high quality, well-made devices for you.
  • 00:12:39
And so I highly recommend that
  • 00:12:40
    especially if you're somebody who
  • 00:12:42
notices that the water in your area has
  • 00:12:43
affected you to check out a water filter
  • 00:12:46
    from Cure or otherwise.
  • 00:12:47
    Yeah.
  • 00:12:48
Next up for cleansing hacks using a
  • 00:12:51
dandruff shampoo on the face. And I
  • 00:12:54
probably try to do this at least once a
  • 00:12:56
week at this point. And I actually
  • 00:12:59
noticed this and I have a lot of
  • 00:13:00
patients that tell me this and I have a
  • 00:13:02
lot of friends that tell me this as
  • 00:13:03
well. They always come to me and this is
  • 00:13:04
invariably the story and I don't know
  • 00:13:05
how many times you've heard this from
  • 00:13:06
patients where they say to me, you know,
  • 00:13:08
doc, I I always have flaking in my
  • 00:13:12
eyebrows and no matter how much I
  • 00:13:14
moisturize, the flaking comes back. I've
  • 00:13:16
used every moisturizer. Doc, I always
  • 00:13:18
have flaking in my beard and no matter
  • 00:13:20
how many beard oils I use, I still have
  • 00:13:23
flaking. And I get this comment question
  • 00:13:25
all the time. And the reason why is
  • 00:13:27
because it's not dry skin. It's actually
  • 00:13:29
    seereetic dermatitis. Seabric dermatitis
  • 00:13:31
is caused by a yeast. And that yeast
  • 00:13:33
    causes inflammation. And that
  • 00:13:34
    inflammation causes scaling and flaking.
  • 00:13:36
And it's the same yeast that causes
  • 00:13:38
    dandruff. And sebriic dermatitis and
  • 00:13:39
dandruff are synonymous. One's on the
  • 00:13:41
scalp and one can be anywhere. And so
  • 00:13:43
that flaking and scaling that you
  • 00:13:45
experience that just does not get better
  • 00:13:46
with moisturizer. A lot of time is that
  • 00:13:48
yeast on the skin. And unless you treat
  • 00:13:49
it, that dry skin will never get away go
  • 00:13:52
away. And since all of us come in
  • 00:13:53
contact with this yeast every day,
  • 00:13:55
    treating it, especially if you're
  • 00:13:56
somebody who's prone to reacting to that
  • 00:13:58
    yeast and getting that flaking
  • 00:13:59
    inflammation or getting tiny versus
  • 00:14:01
color or getting dandruff, using it once
  • 00:14:03
a week to keep it at bay, either on your
  • 00:14:04
scalp or on your face, is going to make
  • 00:14:06
a big difference. And right, that's like
  • 00:14:08
the perfect way to treat it, but also
  • 00:14:10
maintain it. Similarly, similarly, I do
  • 00:14:13
this probably at about the same cadence.
  • 00:14:14
I'll just use like remedy for dandruff
  • 00:14:16
um in my hair. Find my ears to get this
  • 00:14:19
in your ears, your beard, and it really
  • 00:14:21
does a great job of keeping it at bay.
  • 00:14:22
Now, which one should you use? You can
  • 00:14:24
use remedy for dandruff. You can use
  • 00:14:26
your head and shoulders. You use
  • 00:14:28
niserol. You can use whatever. It
  • 00:14:30
doesn't much matter. You probably want
  • 00:14:31
to rotate it just like you rotate your
  • 00:14:33
dander shampoo. Um but just like
  • 00:14:35
anything else in the shower, lather it
  • 00:14:36
up, let it sit for a few minutes before
  • 00:14:38
you rinse it off, and that's the whole
  • 00:14:39
    thing.
  • 00:14:40
Yeah. And this is not going to be
  • 00:14:41
something for everybody, but it's a
  • 00:14:42
really good hack if you're somebody that
  • 00:14:44
has any experiences like what I just
  • 00:14:45
described. And with Remedy for Dandruff,
  • 00:14:47
we formulated it to be like a scalp
  • 00:14:49
health product. So, it's not formulated,
  • 00:14:52
it's like shampoo, but it's not
  • 00:14:53
    formulated like a traditional shampoo.
  • 00:14:55
    So, no fragrances, no irritating
  • 00:14:58
    surfactants, no common preservative
  • 00:15:00
allergens. And so, it is really kind of
  • 00:15:02
scalp and skin friendly in that way. So,
  • 00:15:04
if you're looking for something that has
  • 00:15:06
these ingredients, but isn't going to be
  • 00:15:08
just made for this hair, which some of
  • 00:15:10
those products are really not great for
  • 00:15:12
the skin, that is definitely a product
  • 00:15:14
there. And I can't promise that this
  • 00:15:16
product will be around forever. Uh
  • 00:15:18
despite the fact that we keep selling
  • 00:15:19
out, um there's some nuances there, and
  • 00:15:22
maybe one day we can talk about it.
  • 00:15:24
Today might not be the day, but if
  • 00:15:25
    you're somebody who's loved this
  • 00:15:26
    product, somebody who's already tried
  • 00:15:28
this product, or somebody who's been
  • 00:15:29
interested in this product, it might be
  • 00:15:30
a good opportunity to grab it while we
  • 00:15:33
still have it. Yeah, this is like I
  • 00:15:34
    remember that awkward turtle moment.
  • 00:15:36
This is like kind of that moment like um
  • 00:15:40
anyway, that'll be fun to dive into in
  • 00:15:42
the future. But yes, washing your face
  • 00:15:44
with a dandro shampoo can be helpful for
  • 00:15:46
the right person. Next hack is using
  • 00:15:48
clean towels every single time that you
  • 00:15:52
wash your face. And I'm a big proponent
  • 00:15:55
of this. Now, for a long time, I said,
  • 00:15:57
you know, weekly change out your towels.
  • 00:15:58
And I still believe that you'll probably
  • 00:16:00
do okay with that. There's also some
  • 00:16:01
studies that show that that towels are
  • 00:16:04
like dirtier than your sink if you after
  • 00:16:06
a week or so. And maybe I can pull up
  • 00:16:08
some papers on that at some point. But
  • 00:16:10
    towels are essentially filthy. They're
  • 00:16:12
    contaminated with bacteria just like
  • 00:16:14
your makeup brush is. And especially if
  • 00:16:17
let's say that you're in your guest
  • 00:16:19
    bathroom and your guest bathroom,
  • 00:16:20
everyone's using the same towel to dry
  • 00:16:22
their hands and there's all kinds of
  • 00:16:24
bacteria on it and who else who knows
  • 00:16:26
what else they're drying with it and
  • 00:16:28
then you're using it on your face. So
  • 00:16:29
that's not great for the skin. And so
  • 00:16:31
    ultimately changing your towels
  • 00:16:32
frequently makes a big difference. And
  • 00:16:34
so if you're somebody, you know, you
  • 00:16:36
want to have a set of hand towels,
  • 00:16:38
facial towels that you wash every week
  • 00:16:40
and you put the stack next to your sink,
  • 00:16:42
perfectly good on you. If not, there are
  • 00:16:44
other options. Right? So this is one
  • 00:16:46
    we've talked about fairly consistently
  • 00:16:48
now. The reason is we've just it's just
  • 00:16:50
    like practically introduced itself into
  • 00:16:51
    our lives and against our
  • 00:16:54
um not better judgment but against
  • 00:16:56
I would say that you were always a fan
  • 00:16:57
of this um and I was the one which you
  • 00:17:00
know I think with time like you know
  • 00:17:02
you've adopted some of my things I've
  • 00:17:04
adopted some of your things but I was a
  • 00:17:06
little bit of a hater on this when I
  • 00:17:08
first you told me about this and and
  • 00:17:10
    that's the clean skin. I wouldn't say I
  • 00:17:11
was a hater, but I was somebody who
  • 00:17:13
    wouldn't maybe recommend it as
  • 00:17:15
frequently because I didn't see the
  • 00:17:16
    utility of it until lately.
  • 00:17:18
Yeah. So, clean skin collect towels.
  • 00:17:19
Now, I wasn't early doctor. Same thing.
  • 00:17:21
I had like the initial gut reaction. I
  • 00:17:22
was like, nah, this is unnecessary like
  • 00:17:24
wasteful. But, you know, I had them,
  • 00:17:26
used them, and I was like, it's it's
  • 00:17:27
impossible to go back. So, the reason
  • 00:17:29
these are like we like these is every
  • 00:17:31
single use is obviously clean. It's
  • 00:17:33
fresh. The material can be made of
  • 00:17:35
    different things including bamboo, but
  • 00:17:37
    it's relatively eco-friendly. still
  • 00:17:39
    wasteful, but like relatively
  • 00:17:40
eco-friendly. And then it just feels
  • 00:17:42
like fabric. This is not like rough. It
  • 00:17:45
is the softest thing you'll put on your
  • 00:17:47
skin. And it's also very clean. So, I
  • 00:17:49
think for someone who has a little bit
  • 00:17:51
of an expendable budget or dispensable
  • 00:17:53
    budget,
  • 00:17:54
Yeah. then or if uh you feel like this
  • 00:17:57
would fit into your lifestyle, I think
  • 00:17:59
this will do right by you and you'll be
  • 00:18:00
very happy with how this plays with your
  • 00:18:02
skin. Yeah. Absolutely. So, the quality
  • 00:18:06
is just so good. And once you kind of
  • 00:18:08
get into this, it's kind of hard. It
  • 00:18:11
definitely is hard to go back. And so,
  • 00:18:13
initially, you know, I had them, I used
  • 00:18:16
them one or two times. I constantly
  • 00:18:17
found myself gravitating towards them on
  • 00:18:19
my counter until the box was empty. And
  • 00:18:22
then I said, "Well, this box doesn't
  • 00:18:23
look great, and I don't know if we have
  • 00:18:24
a box anywhere somewhere." Because he
  • 00:18:26
uses them at the office as well. So, you
  • 00:18:28
know, when you know patients are getting
  • 00:18:30
    facials or they're getting cosmetic
  • 00:18:31
procedures and they need to remove their
  • 00:18:33
makeup or their sunscreen or wash their
  • 00:18:34
face, he you have like industrialized
  • 00:18:37
boxes of clean skin club towels now. I
  • 00:18:40
think you have like hundreds of them at
  • 00:18:42
the office. And so, he's using them on
  • 00:18:44
patients cuz if you're a patient, you
  • 00:18:45
don't want to use a dirty towel on your
  • 00:18:47
face, right? You want to use a clean
  • 00:18:48
towel, especially if we're going to do
  • 00:18:49
like a semi-ablative procedure on your
  • 00:18:52
face, right? Where you have all these
  • 00:18:52
holes and open wounds on the face. You
  • 00:18:54
want to use a clean towel before and
  • 00:18:56
after. And so he has the clean skin club
  • 00:18:58
towels at the office and the
  • 00:19:00
estheticians um in our office use them
  • 00:19:02
pretty frequently. And um I use them at
  • 00:19:05
home now. And so I basically found
  • 00:19:07
myself I went from okay well I don't
  • 00:19:08
want this like cardboard box on my table
  • 00:19:10
and then I graduated to like actually
  • 00:19:13
like building this into my thing. So now
  • 00:19:14
all my bathrooms have the like official
  • 00:19:16
boxes. So I have the bamboo box for my
  • 00:19:19
master bathroom because it's wood and
  • 00:19:21
it's better with the aesthetic of our
  • 00:19:23
bathroom. And then in our guest
  • 00:19:25
bathroom, I have the Onyx one, which is
  • 00:19:27
like this cement black cube. And so I've
  • 00:19:30
like really gotten into this clean cloth
  • 00:19:32
thing. And I do think it makes a
  • 00:19:34
difference. Um I I don't use them every
  • 00:19:36
day because I do think that they can get
  • 00:19:38
expensive over time. But especially like
  • 00:19:40
if I don't have a towel nearby or I know
  • 00:19:41
that the towel like near me hasn't been
  • 00:19:44
cleaned in a few days, um I'll I'll
  • 00:19:46
gravitate towards these towels in my
  • 00:19:48
bathroom. And I have my guests use them
  • 00:19:50
in the guest room because I think if
  • 00:19:51
you're going to wash your face and you
  • 00:19:53
don't know whose towel you're using,
  • 00:19:54
    you're somebody who is extremely
  • 00:19:56
    hygienic like I am, you're you're really
  • 00:19:58
going to like these. And the quality of
  • 00:20:00
these towels is just so good. And I used
  • 00:20:01
to say as jokingly to him, like why not
  • 00:20:03
just use like a paper towel on your just
  • 00:20:05
using paper towels on your face. But
  • 00:20:06
these are so much softer. And these are
  • 00:20:08
like a fabric instead of like a paper.
  • 00:20:10
So I'm I'm a big fan. Um, and now
  • 00:20:12
they're available at Target, so you can
  • 00:20:14
just grab them instead of having to
  • 00:20:15
order them online, which, you know,
  • 00:20:16
saves you at least a little bit of the
  • 00:20:18
    waste.
  • 00:20:18
Yep. So, again, uh, basically, don't use
  • 00:20:22
your dirty towel. You can use a stack of
  • 00:20:25
rewashable towels or clean skin towels,
  • 00:20:27
whatever works, and that'll be helpful
  • 00:20:28
for your skin. And last hack is actually
  • 00:20:31
something very simple, but it doesn't
  • 00:20:33
seem to be intuitive. Just don't rinse
  • 00:20:36
off your cleanser too fast. It has
  • 00:20:38
    active ingredients. This is especially
  • 00:20:40
    important with ingredients like benzol
  • 00:20:42
peroxide where they need contact time
  • 00:20:44
with the skin to work right. So benzyl
  • 00:20:47
    peroxide, salicylic acid, um sulfur
  • 00:20:50
based cleansers, anything that it really
  • 00:20:52
kind of is meant there to be like a
  • 00:20:54
treatment cleanser. Leave it on the skin
  • 00:20:55
for a little bit. Allow it to kind of
  • 00:20:57
work. Allow it to settle in. Now a lot
  • 00:20:59
of these surfactants and cleansers are
  • 00:21:00
    designed to leave ingredients behind.
  • 00:21:03
    When we formulated our hydrating
  • 00:21:05
cleanser, part of the calculation was
  • 00:21:07
how do we have a surfactant that removes
  • 00:21:09
oil, dirt, and debris, but then is
  • 00:21:11
designed in such a way that it can leave
  • 00:21:14
your glycerins and camides behind. And
  • 00:21:16
so, it's not that if you wash it off, it
  • 00:21:18
like completely goes away. So, cleansers
  • 00:21:20
can be designed, and this is something I
  • 00:21:21
learned later on, cleansers can be
  • 00:21:22
    designed to leave ingredients behind,
  • 00:21:24
but a lot of it gets washed away. A lot
  • 00:21:26
of it gets washed away. And so,
  • 00:21:28
    especially when you're having a
  • 00:21:28
treatment cleanser, leave it on for a
  • 00:21:30
    little bit longer, especially benzyl
  • 00:21:32
peroxide, so that it can have that
  • 00:21:34
antibacterial effect on the skin for
  • 00:21:36
your acne. And so, most cleansers, you
  • 00:21:38
just want to play with them for a little
  • 00:21:40
bit. You want to get a lather. You want
  • 00:21:41
the myils to be able to absorb dirt,
  • 00:21:43
oil, and debris and then wash them off.
  • 00:21:46
So, just a simple get to the point of a
  • 00:21:48
lather, good enough. But with an acne
  • 00:21:50
cleanser, leave it on for a little bit
  • 00:21:51
    to make it work.
  • 00:21:52
Yep. Perfect. So, these were our
  • 00:21:54
cleansing tips. Uh, hopefully you found
  • 00:21:55
them helpful. Make sure if you saw this
  • 00:21:58
video in time, you jump on the cure
  • 00:22:00

  • 00:22:03
    revolutionize your bathroom but also
  • 00:22:06
your skin. So jump on that while you
  • 00:22:08
can. Otherwise, we will see you next
  • 00:22:10
time. Final hack I would give for
  • 00:22:12
cleansing that I we got from the
  • 00:22:14
comments and I'm just curious if anybody
  • 00:22:16
else has experienced this hack, but we
  • 00:22:18
did a video on Vaseline hacks in the
  • 00:22:19
past and people in the comments
  • 00:22:22
invariably had mentioned Vaseline can be
  • 00:22:24
a great makeup remover in a bind. So, I
  • 00:22:27
haven't tried it. I'm putting this hack
  • 00:22:29
here to hear from all of you whether or
  • 00:22:31
not you've tried Vaseline as a makeup
  • 00:22:34
remover and has worked for you. So,
  • 00:22:36
bonus hack from the audience. Please
  • 00:22:38
like, comment, and subscribe. And we'll
  • 00:22:40
see you in the next video.
