- 00:00:56infamous factorio mod where runs can
- 00:00:58take anywhere between 200 and 500 hours
- 00:01:02it's not the hardest factorio mod that
- 00:01:05Crown still goes to pyanodons but that
- 00:01:07doesn't mean it should be taken lightly
- 00:01:09the percentage of people who start space
- 00:01:11exploration runs and actually finish
- 00:01:13them has to be in the decimals and
- 00:01:15that's why in the interest of getting
- 00:01:16this video out sometime this year I've
- 00:01:19enlisted the help of these two AIS that
- 00:01:21I've totally programmed this will be a
- 00:01:24tremendous help as I try to get through
- 00:01:25this mod and uh well it seems they're
- 00:01:28not all that intelligent so I'll still
- 00:01:30need to do most everything myself which
- 00:01:33is just as well since I'm the one making
- 00:01:35a video
- 00:01:37anyway the first thing you might realize
- 00:01:39after starting a space exploration run
- 00:01:41is that you have no electric miners no
- 00:01:43yellow inserters or even any electricity
- 00:01:45at all for mod that promises
- 00:01:47Interstellar space travel it sure starts
- 00:01:50out about as low Tech as it can get
- 00:01:52everything's all coal powered
- 00:01:54technically this part of the mod is from
- 00:01:55aai industry which I've talked about in
- 00:01:57my factorio city video but while it
- 00:02:00doesn't change much escaping this burner
- 00:02:02phase will easily take a couple hours I
- 00:02:04suggest bringing some AI slaves of your
- 00:02:06own to help manually mine everything it
- 00:02:09doesn't even let you craft science in
- 00:02:11your inventory anymore at least the
- 00:02:13animation on the burner assemblers are
- 00:02:14cool
- 00:02:15I've also got the Milestones mod which
- 00:02:17tells us that it's taken nine minutes to
- 00:02:19craft the first red science
- 00:02:21since we're going to be burning a lot of
- 00:02:23things the mod is kind enough to give us
- 00:02:24a specialized machine that processes
- 00:02:26Fuel and turns it into better fuel
- 00:02:30if you're determined enough you might
- 00:02:32just manage to scrounge together enough
- 00:02:33red science to research electricity but
- 00:02:36not steam power instead we get these
- 00:02:38inefficient burner generators but uh
- 00:02:40it's better than using burner inserters
- 00:02:42everything's better than burner
- 00:02:44inserters I send the minions off to do
- 00:02:46some scouting and that ends about as
- 00:02:48well as you'd expect
- 00:02:50foreign anyway now we've got assemblers
- 00:02:53that run on electricity the only problem
- 00:02:55is they take forever to craft by hand so
- 00:02:58our first priority is automating them at
- 00:03:00least halfway it's hand fed but it goes
- 00:03:02a long way to saving time
- 00:03:06these small engines and motors are super
- 00:03:08important for all the early game
- 00:03:10buildings
- 00:03:11like inserters which will need several
- 00:03:14hundred of unfortunately we're still
- 00:03:16dependent on Burner miners which we'll
- 00:03:18try to solve by automating them where
- 00:03:20this differs from the base game is that
- 00:03:22you can't make any of the advanced
- 00:03:23buildings without its predecessor
- 00:03:25meaning we can't make electric mining
- 00:03:27drills without first feeding in a burner
- 00:03:29mining drill and with a recent expansion
- 00:03:31the natives have started to object
- 00:03:33unlike the base game your health almost
- 00:03:35never regenerates so you need to use
- 00:03:37these Med kits
- 00:03:39second piece we've got some green
- 00:03:41science up even if it is just one
- 00:03:43assembler it's already taken us an hour
- 00:03:45to get this far and we've barely
- 00:03:47scratched the surface we're still stuck
- 00:03:49hand feeding things but with a good
- 00:03:51supply of belts and inserters we can
- 00:03:52finally start thinking about scaling up
- 00:03:54this is just your average furnace deck
- 00:03:5648 furnaces output a full yellow belt of
- 00:03:59smelted ore as effective here as it is
- 00:04:01in the base game except uh we don't
- 00:04:03really have a belt of ore yet but
- 00:04:05there's a really nice mine right above
- 00:04:07it which seems like a perfect job for
- 00:04:09one of the minions
- 00:04:11we'll also need coal to power the
- 00:04:13furnaces it's a little far but this is
- 00:04:15why you automate build production
- 00:04:18of course we want to process it first
- 00:04:20with that we'll get a good 20 more burn
- 00:04:23for our buck
- 00:04:25now we just plug in the ore and we've
- 00:04:26got fully automated iron production
- 00:04:28[Music]
- 00:04:30but man cannot automate on iron alone so
- 00:04:33we need another Lane for copper and so
- 00:04:35we built some in from the Northwest
- 00:04:36ignore that thing called a core seam
- 00:04:39we'll get to that later
- 00:04:41with all these miners running oral
- 00:04:42generators just can't keep up
- 00:04:44fortunately we've researched steam power
- 00:04:49then I add some more lands because I'll
- 00:04:51need Stone and glass soon I can't start
- 00:04:53fully automating everything just yet
- 00:04:55because in this mod you need stoned
- 00:04:57bricks for all the basic buildings like
- 00:04:58assemblers and Mining drills but after
- 00:05:00looking at our pollution spread I
- 00:05:02suddenly decided it would be prescient
- 00:05:04to start automating ammunition
- 00:05:06and gun turrets I wouldn't recommend
- 00:05:08trying to take out the early bases
- 00:05:10without them
- 00:05:13the temporary build straight off the
- 00:05:15iron line starts spreading like a cancer
- 00:05:17as I need more inserters and belts at
- 00:05:20least I don't need to hand feed them
- 00:05:21anymore
- 00:05:23it continues to spread as I automate
- 00:05:25underground belts and Splitters too
- 00:05:27at least now with a better Supply I can
- 00:05:29focus on getting the rest of the
- 00:05:30resources I probably should have made a
- 00:05:33smaller build before going full scale
- 00:05:34like this but I'm stubborn like that
- 00:05:38I leave actually plugging the ore in up
- 00:05:40to the other two so I can focus on
- 00:05:42making science red science is extremely
- 00:05:45easy it's just a gear plus a copper
- 00:05:47plate the green science however is a
- 00:05:49little more complicated compared to its
- 00:05:51vanilla counterpart and that's because
- 00:05:52while it still takes yellow inserters
- 00:05:54you need to make the burner inserters
- 00:05:56too if you came to this video to see
- 00:05:58optimal factorio designs you've come to
- 00:06:00the wrong place but with belts and
- 00:06:02inserters that's all we need for green
- 00:06:04science
- 00:06:06this is where I put some Labs if I had
- 00:06:09any the electric Labs take glass which I
- 00:06:11haven't even automated yet thankfully
- 00:06:13one of the minions arrives just in time
- 00:06:16after supplying science by hand for the
- 00:06:18past three hours having it fully
- 00:06:20automated feels great and in the
- 00:06:22meantime we've got steel and Bricks set
- 00:06:24up and now I can finally automate
- 00:06:26assembling machines because remember you
- 00:06:28need burner assemblers to make electric
- 00:06:30assemblers
- 00:06:33this terrible base layout is starting to
- 00:06:35metastasize I need to do something I
- 00:06:37don't want to be stuck with this all the
- 00:06:39way to space but I think I can hold on a
- 00:06:41little bit longer to make some cars the
- 00:06:43alien biomes Mod Makes You Walk Way
- 00:06:45slower on tiles like sand and guess
- 00:06:47where our base is built the occasional
- 00:06:50Stone path helps mitigate this but cars
- 00:06:52are way better also the processed fuel
- 00:06:55is really good for the cars it's almost
- 00:06:56as good as Rocket Fuel
- 00:06:58foreign

- 00:07:09good enough I'll leave the science there
- 00:07:11time to introduce a little organization
- 00:07:14first thing I'm making are circuits
- 00:07:16unlike the base game they take these
- 00:07:18stone tablets made out of bricks instead
- 00:07:20of iron I actually like the change makes
- 00:07:22more sense to use Stone than it does
- 00:07:24iron anyway
- 00:07:26the next thing I want is concrete
- 00:07:28because it's actually a necessary
- 00:07:29ingredient in a lot of buildings
- 00:07:30normally you only need this stuff for
- 00:07:32nuclear power plants and a rocket Silo
- 00:07:34but in this mod it's used in some very
- 00:07:36important early game things like big
- 00:07:38electric poles forcing the player to
- 00:07:40make concrete early on like this and
- 00:07:42making unpaved tiles slow you down is a
- 00:07:44good way to encourage actually Paving
- 00:07:46the base
- 00:07:51I've still got some supplies from the
- 00:07:53old build but I'm gonna need more
- 00:07:56and now for the third time in three
- 00:07:57videos I'm going to apologize for using
- 00:08:00this design but hey it's not my fault
- 00:08:02it's the easiest way of setting up a
- 00:08:03mall in space exploration it can even
- 00:08:06take six belts of input if you want to
- 00:08:08know more about this Abomination I
- 00:08:10suggest you watch my beltless factorio
- 00:08:12video suffice to say it's a very
- 00:08:14convenient way of dealing with this
- 00:08:15Mod's telescopic recipes you can also do
- 00:08:18this with the warehouses this mod adds
- 00:08:20but I'm sticking with trains
- 00:08:22well with that automated it's time we
- 00:08:24moved on to getting some oil fortunately
- 00:08:26my minions have been working on that
- 00:08:28while I was busy the For Better or Worse
- 00:08:31while they finished that up I'm just
- 00:08:33gonna build military science we're gonna
- 00:08:35need the ammo soon anyway and it doesn't
- 00:08:37hurt to have some walls lying around we
- 00:08:39can even upgrade them into better walls
- 00:08:40with concrete
- 00:08:44no I just need to run a giant stupid
- 00:08:46build from the coal mine to the grenade
- 00:08:47factories and that's military science
- 00:08:52look they've managed to make plastic
- 00:08:54that means it's time for advanced
- 00:08:56circuits so I route some more green
- 00:08:59circuits remember this is just my
- 00:09:01starter base it's allowed to look
- 00:09:02terrible if you've ever played factorio
- 00:09:05you've probably realized that you always
- 00:09:07need more red circuit assemblers than
- 00:09:09you think
- 00:09:15some Nest popped up nearby so we just
- 00:09:17crashed into them with our new flame
- 00:09:19tumbler
- 00:09:20nice the biters are getting a little
- 00:09:22annoying but there's something we can do
- 00:09:24to help efficiency modules are a lot
- 00:09:26stronger they're pretty cheap to make
- 00:09:28and just two of them is enough to drop
- 00:09:29the energy consumption of any building
- 00:09:31to its minimum you can see that the
- 00:09:33mines are a hot spot of pollution but
- 00:09:35just dropping two of those in every
- 00:09:37minor is enough to reduce pollution by
- 00:09:38over 80 percent
- 00:09:40these Advanced circuits will also let us
- 00:09:42make stuff like substations and stack
- 00:09:44inserters
- 00:09:46and now it's time for chemical science
- 00:09:48and that means engine units we just need
- 00:09:51some single cylinder engines gears and
- 00:09:53some steel
- 00:09:56that just leaves sulfur in the base game
- 00:09:59you need maybe two or three chemical
- 00:10:01plants making sulfur but space
- 00:10:03exploration is a little different
- 00:10:05anyway just plug it all in and we've got
- 00:10:07chemical science
- 00:10:12this is the part where I start
- 00:10:13automating things anywhere they'll fit
- 00:10:15and make some explosives so we can
- 00:10:17finally get rid of cliffs it's a mess
- 00:10:20but it works
- 00:10:23I can also diversify into less friendly
- 00:10:26explosions
- 00:10:28now that I've got Advanced oil
- 00:10:29processing I'm gonna need to deal with
- 00:10:31cracking
- 00:10:34this is really annoying to set up
- 00:10:36without robots which is why we're making
- 00:10:37those next
- 00:10:39just put some circuit conditions on the
- 00:10:41pump and we're ready to crack it might
- 00:10:43be pipe routing hell but it works for
- 00:10:45the robots we'll need some sulfuric acid
- 00:10:47and batteries just like sulfur this mod
- 00:10:50requires a lot more batteries than usual
- 00:10:54we'll also need some of these small
- 00:10:55electric motors so we can turn them into
- 00:10:57big electric motors which will also need
- 00:10:59a lubricant for these motors aren't
- 00:11:01really used in science but they are
- 00:11:03necessary to make like every kind of
- 00:11:05advanced building also unlike usual
- 00:11:07these flying robot frames aren't needed
- 00:11:09to make utility science but that doesn't
- 00:11:11make you want them any less
- 00:11:16and I managed to squeeze some Robo Port
- 00:11:19Automation in here
- 00:11:21just like you can measure real life in
- 00:11:23BC and AD you can also measure factorio
- 00:11:25bases and BB and a b before Bots and
- 00:11:29after Bots not only does this make
- 00:11:31building a lot easier but it also
- 00:11:33automatically repairs your base whenever
- 00:11:34the mod decides to throw a meteor at it
- 00:11:37try to add another Lane of copper to the
- 00:11:39forges I suddenly realized I screwed up
- 00:11:41the spacing but it's nothing some good
- 00:11:43old-fashioned belt weaving can't fix
- 00:11:49good enough I've also automated
- 00:11:51accumulators and solar panels they're
- 00:11:53actually needed for science but we'll
- 00:11:55get to that and the first step to
- 00:11:57getting to that is making this heat
- 00:11:58shielding stuff it takes stone tablets
- 00:12:01steel and sulfur quite a bit of sulfur
- 00:12:04actually
- 00:12:06we'll need this stuff later but for now
- 00:12:08it lets us make electric furnaces
- 00:12:10and then I shoved some more automation
- 00:12:12wherever it'll fit I'm sure I'll get
- 00:12:14around to using these Trends eventually
- 00:12:17hmm isn't the base beautiful
- 00:12:21since we've got this many solar panels
- 00:12:23we might as well use them solar panels
- 00:12:25are pretty crap unless you're building
- 00:12:27them in the thousands but that's exactly
- 00:12:29what we're doing as long as you use a
- 00:12:31tie level build that integrates Robo
- 00:12:32ports you can just let the robots handle
- 00:12:34everything
- 00:12:35with that we've transitioned completely
- 00:12:37to solar so our pollution is way down
- 00:12:39but there's still one more big Source
- 00:12:42it's those steel forges so let's just
- 00:12:44get rid of them
- 00:12:46unsurprisingly it takes a while but it's
- 00:12:48better than doing it by hand with the
- 00:12:50whole place cleared we can replace them
- 00:12:52with futuristic electric furnaces and
- 00:12:54with Bots you can just copy paste
- 00:12:56multiple times
- 00:13:00also gotta rebuild The Crushers that
- 00:13:02make the sand for the glass electric
- 00:13:04furnaces spew out way less pollution and
- 00:13:06unlike the steel furnaces we can fill
- 00:13:08them with modules but we all know the
- 00:13:10real reason I upgrade is because I
- 00:13:12wanted to remove that belt weaving
- 00:13:13Abomination just look at that pollution
- 00:13:16graph
- 00:13:20thanks to our aggressive anti-pollution
- 00:13:22efforts we haven't had much issue with
- 00:13:24the biters expanding because apparently
- 00:13:25the biters never considered that we
- 00:13:27might start expanding we need more iron
- 00:13:30and more crude oil
- 00:13:32and then I died
- 00:13:36it's okay the Bots will fix it
- 00:13:39they broke my car
- 00:13:41well I got my stuff back but I'm stuck
- 00:13:43out here except this is why it pays to
- 00:13:46have minions
- 00:13:48foreign
- 00:13:51also there's jet packs in this mod just
- 00:13:54fly over everything
- 00:13:56hopefully this will help our iron
- 00:13:57problem if only there was a better way
- 00:13:59to move large amounts of resources long
- 00:14:01distances oh well
- 00:14:05that'll help for now remember when I
- 00:14:07talked about those core seems well this
- 00:14:10is what they're for you put a core Miner
- 00:14:12on them which creates core fragments and
- 00:14:14then you could crush those core
- 00:14:15fragments and get a ton of garbage in
- 00:14:17return it requires an enormous 25
- 00:14:19megawatts to run and spews out 200
- 00:14:22pollution per minute which is probably
- 00:14:24more than our entire furnace array but
- 00:14:27unlike regular mines it never runs out
- 00:14:29sorting out all of its byproducts is a
- 00:14:31pain but it's a great way to ease the
- 00:14:33burden on your regular Minds because
- 00:14:35normally the further you are from the
- 00:14:37center the Richer The Ore patch has
- 00:14:38become but not in space exploration and
- 00:14:41this mod is a long one you'll be drying
- 00:14:43out dozens of ore patches before you're
- 00:14:44through since it gives you everything
- 00:14:46you'll also need to do with the excess
- 00:14:48and unfortunately the only way to do
- 00:14:50that is to turn it into landfill
- 00:14:53now we just want to plug it into our
- 00:14:55lanes with an input priority splitter
- 00:14:57that way it'll use the core mining stuff
- 00:14:59before anything else
- 00:15:01crude oil and water is also a byproduct
- 00:15:03so we got to get rid of that stuff too
- 00:15:06so there's another byproduct I didn't
- 00:15:08mention something called pyroflux we
- 00:15:10can't do anything with it yet except
- 00:15:12turn it into steam which would help pay
- 00:15:14for its 25 megawatt power bill but I
- 00:15:17think I'd rather stockpile it because
- 00:15:19while it might not be useful now it just
- 00:15:21might be in the future so yeah that's
- 00:15:23core mining
- 00:15:25with our ore Supply taken care of it's
- 00:15:27time to build a rocket now some of you
- 00:15:29might be asking but Dodge where's the
- 00:15:32production and utility science you need

- 00:15:36not in this mod you don't up until now
- 00:15:38space exploration has been pretty
- 00:15:40comparable with vanilla factorio but
- 00:15:42this is where it starts to deviate a
- 00:15:43little and by a little I mean a lot for
- 00:15:46starters there is no production or
- 00:15:48utility science uh well there is but
- 00:15:51I'll get to that anyway for the rocket
- 00:15:53we'll need these low density structures
- 00:15:55and Rocket control units this is
- 00:15:57probably one of the last times I can
- 00:15:58compare any part of this mod with the
- 00:16:00base game but the LDS take twice the
- 00:16:02plastic and the rcus take 10 times the
- 00:16:05sulfuric acid and when we throw in the
- 00:16:07heat shielding and the rocket fuel you
- 00:16:09might notice that this process is
- 00:16:11extremely oil hungry speaking of Rocket
- 00:16:14Fuel here's Rocket Fuel it uses these
- 00:16:16special fuel refineries and it only
- 00:16:18takes one second to craft so this is
- 00:16:21definitely over building it
- 00:16:27and here's this guy working on the oil
- 00:16:28that we'll definitely need
- 00:16:30with heat shielding LDS rcus and Rocket
- 00:16:33Fuel we have everything we need to
- 00:16:35assemble our rocket except for one thing
- 00:16:37if you want to get anything out of this
- 00:16:39we gotta launch it with a satellite and
- 00:16:41it takes quite the assortment especially
- 00:16:44without requester chests fortunately
- 00:16:46I've got two of the ingredients right
- 00:16:47here and I already put solar panels and
- 00:16:49accumulators on belts another two I can
- 00:16:52pull off the bus and that just leaves
- 00:16:54The Radars which requires its own mix of
- 00:16:56garbage but it's garbage I've got on
- 00:16:58hand
- 00:17:05and that's our satellite now we just
- 00:17:07need a rocket to put it in now you may
- 00:17:10have noticed that this is actually
- 00:17:11called a satellite rocket Silo and
- 00:17:13that's because instead of winning the
- 00:17:15game all this thing does is launch
- 00:17:17satellites this is where we get the key
- 00:17:19ingredient for the next stage of science
- 00:17:22rocket science
- 00:17:48contrary to what that achievement says
- 00:17:50no we did not beat the game and then I
- 00:17:53got a rather interesting alert telling
- 00:17:55me a weapons cache has been found
- 00:17:58that it has
- 00:18:00and I've also apparently unlocked the
- 00:18:02ability to see everywhere I guess my
- 00:18:04satellite is also a government spy drone
- 00:18:07so I want that weapons cash
- 00:18:09unfortunately it's in the middle of a
- 00:18:11nest of biters but check this out
- 00:18:15they never saw it coming
- 00:18:17so the spoils were a couple of requester
- 00:18:19chests which is great because I haven't
- 00:18:21even researched them yet but also this
- 00:18:22gun called a railgun let's see how good
- 00:18:25it is
- 00:18:29uh I'm thinking it's pretty good
- 00:18:32anyway back to the science
- 00:18:34we've managed to harvest from space this
- 00:18:37stuff called satellite Telemetry we only
- 00:18:39get 100 of these per launch but that's
- 00:18:41still enough to make 800 rocket science
- 00:18:44still doesn't hurt to have more so let's
- 00:18:46launch another satellite
- 00:18:52and it seems to have found something
- 00:18:53else in space this time now if you hit U
- 00:18:57this menu pops up and uh that's
- 00:18:59certainly something
- 00:19:01it seems whatever this place used to be
- 00:19:03isn't uh functional anymore this is the
- 00:19:06first glimpse into the true scope of
- 00:19:08this mod this place is mostly just trash
- 00:19:11but there's certainly some interesting
- 00:19:13things in these boxes up here and while
- 00:19:16I was gawking at space a bunch of biters
- 00:19:18showed up to take advantage of my laps
- 00:19:20and attention
- 00:19:22anyway that stuff in space it only
- 00:19:24exists to taunt us we have no way of
- 00:19:26getting up there right now but now I'm
- 00:19:28determined let's get this rocket science
- 00:19:30up we've got the hardest part done but
- 00:19:33the second hardest are these electric
- 00:19:34furnaces mostly because they require
- 00:19:36Stone and steel furnaces as well
- 00:19:42and because the actual recipe only takes
- 00:19:44one of these every 80 Seconds I only
- 00:19:46need one assembler
- 00:19:51that leaves one last ingredient speed
- 00:19:55modules and the modules in this mod are
- 00:19:58kind of bizarre case into Point these
- 00:20:00speed modules take solid fuel to make
- 00:20:03every tier of every module takes one
- 00:20:06special ingredient fortunately we're
- 00:20:08already close by to where I make the
- 00:20:10rocket feel but that's even more oil
- 00:20:12demand from this mod because of that I'm
- 00:20:15forced to set up two new oil fields
- 00:20:18after spending like an hour on that
- 00:20:20let's make some rocket science
- 00:20:34it doesn't look like we've unlocked much
- 00:20:35but that's because it's all hiding
- 00:20:37behind this Processing Unit research
- 00:20:41and I'm so excited to get them I start
- 00:20:43building it before the research is even
- 00:20:45done I won't need too many of these
- 00:20:47believe it or not this is still the
- 00:20:49starter base
- 00:20:51in addition to that we've unlocked this
- 00:20:53building called a Life Support Facility
- 00:20:54what you thought we could breathe in
- 00:20:56space you're crazy with this we can make
- 00:20:58life support canisters just one of the
- 00:21:00many preparations we'll need to make
- 00:21:02before we can actually get to space I'm
- 00:21:04also using one of those precious
- 00:21:05requester chests I found that one on the
- 00:21:08left decontaminates used canisters
- 00:21:11but you can't just use life support
- 00:21:13canisters you need this life support
- 00:21:15equipment which we use to make this
- 00:21:17Thruster suit it's effectively the same
- 00:21:19as power armor and now I can finally get
- 00:21:22some exoskeletons
- 00:21:25happens
- 00:21:27so I launched another satellite and it
- 00:21:29tells me I've found an asteroid belt if
- 00:21:31you keep launching them you'll keep
- 00:21:33finding these planets and stuff they're
- 00:21:35places just like navis but they all have
- 00:21:37their corks
- 00:21:38this moon for example has zero biters
- 00:21:41and a ton of crude oil flip side of that
- 00:21:43is it's almost got no stone or copper
- 00:21:45and looking at the rest it's got these
- 00:21:47two weird resources we've never heard of
- 00:21:49I'm sure we'll need it later but we
- 00:21:51can't even get to orbit let alone
- 00:21:53another planet but using our government
- 00:21:55spy satellite we can remotely view the
- 00:21:57surface and as advertised that certainly
- 00:22:00is a lot of oil
- 00:22:02so if we ever want to reach places like
- 00:22:04that we're going to need a rocket and
- 00:22:06not that dinky little satellite rocket
- 00:22:08we need a real rocket and that's where
- 00:22:11the cargo rocket comes in and making one
- 00:22:14isn't exactly the easiest task first
- 00:22:16we'll need cargo rocket sections and not
- 00:22:19only do they take rcu's LDS and heat
- 00:22:22shielding but these two things as well
- 00:22:24but it's not actually that complicated
- 00:22:26seeing as it's mostly iron steel and
- 00:22:28advanced circuits you just got to get a
- 00:22:30little creative
- 00:22:39well that's the hard part done now we
- 00:22:42just need to plug in the same stuff that
- 00:22:43feeds our satellite rocket
- 00:22:47foreign
- 00:22:50makes the satellite Silo look pretty
- 00:22:52wimpy in comparison you may have noticed
- 00:22:55that it's got some tubes on the front
- 00:22:56and that's for the liquid rocket fuel
- 00:23:01[Music]
- 00:23:02so to actually build the rocket we need
- 00:23:04to insert a hundred cargo rocket
- 00:23:06sections into its inventory anything
- 00:23:08over 100 just fills the Rocket's
- 00:23:10inventory normally but we don't want to
- 00:23:12keep inserting sections we don't need
- 00:23:14unfortunately the rocket Silo has
- 00:23:16circuit signals that tell it how many
- 00:23:18cargo sections have already been loaded
- 00:23:20we read that and only let these
- 00:23:21inserters load cargo sections so long as
- 00:23:23there's less than 100 already loaded and
- 00:23:26with the fuel in the cargo section
- 00:23:27sorted out there's one last thing we
- 00:23:30need the Space Capsule its ingredients
- 00:23:33are very similar to the satellite we
- 00:23:35only need one of these to launch a
- 00:23:37rocket back at The Silo you can see
- 00:23:39we've already got enough liquid Rocket
- 00:23:40Fuel and almost enough cargo sections to
- 00:23:43the left you can see a bunch of data on
- 00:23:45our rocket including its destination now
- 00:23:47this orbit by the way one solid rocket
- 00:23:50fuel gives you 50 liquid Rocket Fuel so
- 00:23:52just getting to orbit requires a
- 00:23:54thousand of them
- 00:23:59foreign
- 00:24:12rocket ready to go as we prepare to
- 00:24:15build bases separated by several million
- 00:24:17kilometers of cold dead space will
- 00:24:20probably want some way of communicating
- 00:24:22with them and that's where this signal
- 00:24:23receiver comes in with one of these we
- 00:24:26can receive signals from anywhere but
- 00:24:28it's pretty much useless without a
- 00:24:29transmitter but we'll get there no it's
- 00:24:32not that I'm not excited to jump into a
- 00:24:34flaming metal death trap it's just that
- 00:24:36I've realized our base is mostly
- 00:24:37undefended and going to space means I
- 00:24:39won't be around to deal with it anymore
- 00:24:41so it's about time I just accepted that
- 00:24:43I'm going to need to build a wall
- 00:24:45nothing major though our solar powered
- 00:24:47base barely produces any pollution which
- 00:24:49is why we got this far without defenses
- 00:24:51in the first place
- 00:24:54uh now we can go to space in peace so I
- 00:24:58filled this rocket with like 500 Slots
- 00:25:00of garbage I might need since it's not
- 00:25:02like I've got access to my supply lines
- 00:25:04up there but anyway let's finally get up
- 00:25:07there
- 00:25:23uh my rocket ain't looking so good
- 00:25:28well that's exciting I guess that's what
- 00:25:31happens when you don't have a landing
- 00:25:32pad
- 00:25:34well time to clean up my mess
- 00:25:37so who knows what happened up here but
- 00:25:39it's probably safe to assume it was
- 00:25:41caused by Engineers much worse than us
- 00:25:43at least they left us some useful stuff
- 00:25:47and even more crazy powerful guns some
- 00:25:50of this stuff is crazy Advanced like we
- 00:25:52won't be able to make half of this stuff
- 00:25:54even in a hundred hours
- 00:25:56next time I'm up here I don't want to
- 00:25:58crash so let's put down a landing pad
- 00:26:00also it may not look like it but there
- 00:26:02is power up here thanks to those solar
- 00:26:05panels up there and that pile on with
- 00:26:06its crazy transmission range in space
- 00:26:09exploration each planet has its own day
- 00:26:11night length and solar efficiency and up
- 00:26:14here in orbit it's always day in a
- 00:26:16single solar panel is about five times
- 00:26:18as effective as it is on navis
- 00:26:20time to make an archaeologist somewhere
- 00:26:22cry I need the space
- 00:26:25in case it wasn't obvious I can't build
- 00:26:28on nothing so this asteroid is going to
- 00:26:30be my home for now
- 00:26:39all clean
- 00:26:41this is all we get but if we need more
- 00:26:43space we can always use scaffolding
- 00:26:45here's a recycling machine to get rid of
- 00:26:47all the scrap that my flaming wreckage
- 00:26:49caused there's also a resource up here
- 00:26:51called a water ice and we can mine it
- 00:26:53just like anything else except we can't
- 00:26:55actually use it not without this thing
- 00:26:58you see you can't use most manufacturers
- 00:27:00in space you need special ones this
- 00:27:03one's basically a chemical plant in
- 00:27:05space but we can't research it yet not
- 00:27:08without space science and that's the
- 00:27:10reason we're up here as it always is to
- 00:27:12make science I've already got
- 00:27:14three-fifths of the ingredients with me
- 00:27:16but we need to make these transport
- 00:27:18builds and Cosmic water both of them
- 00:27:21take lubricant and since there's not
- 00:27:22much oil in space we're gonna need to
- 00:27:25bring it in from now Vis fortunately
- 00:27:27there's these delivery cannons with
- 00:27:29these we can shoot barrels of fluid
- 00:27:31directly into orbit and catch them in
- 00:27:33these special chests they are pretty
- 00:27:35power hungry and can only send one stack
- 00:27:37at a time but it's better than wasting a
- 00:27:39cargo rocket you can't ship everything
- 00:27:41like this mostly just raw materials just
- 00:27:44like the belts we need to special space
- 00:27:46pipes as well they're actually worse
- 00:27:48than normal pipes but they're the only
- 00:27:50ones that work in space so you don't
- 00:27:52have much choice
- 00:27:53Cosmic water is pretty simple we make it
- 00:27:56in a decontamination facility
- 00:27:57unfortunately as I mentioned we can't
- 00:28:00use that water ice yet so we're gonna
- 00:28:01need to bring it in just like the
- 00:28:03lubricant
- 00:28:07and that's everything we need for space
- 00:28:09science at least a little of it we can
- 00:28:11only make it in this giant space
- 00:28:13manufacturing but this thing crafts
- 00:28:15super fast so don't worry about it
- 00:28:19and that is our space science
- 00:28:22no I just shoved in this giant disco
- 00:28:24ball if you value your sanity don't look
- 00:28:27inside this is where the mod really
- 00:28:29starts
- 00:28:32this thing goes through research at a
- 00:28:35snail's pace but it's still a pace now
- 00:28:38we can finally get things like Express
- 00:28:39builds assembler threes and artillery
- 00:28:42but requester chests and beacons are
- 00:28:44nowhere to be found but I've done enough
- 00:28:46up here it's time to go back home and we
- 00:28:49can do that by just hopping into our
- 00:28:50trusty Space Capsule
- 00:28:58thank you
- 00:28:59nice it's possible to use the Space
- 00:29:01Capsule to get back into orbit but cargo
- 00:29:04Rockets are still the best
- 00:29:06that was some research called vulcanite
- 00:29:08processing might be useful later mostly
- 00:29:11we're down here to deal with a bunch of
- 00:29:12errands like setting up uranium
- 00:29:14processing and adding some new mines and
- 00:29:16oil something I've mostly spared you
- 00:29:18from but it's worth reiterating just how
- 00:29:20persistent a problem running low on
- 00:29:22resources is especially oil we've tapped
- 00:29:25out pretty much every Aura field in
- 00:29:27these walls already anyway even though
- 00:29:29we have space science it's not really
- 00:29:31automated and that's because to make
- 00:29:33anything in space first we need to make
- 00:29:34the components down here and then ship
- 00:29:36them up to space via cargo rocket you
- 00:29:39can manually load them like I've done
- 00:29:40here or try to load them with belts but
- 00:29:43that creates the problem of knowing what
- 00:29:44you actually need up there but as you
- 00:29:47may have guessed seeing these
- 00:29:48combinators around here there is a
- 00:29:50better way I forgot to select The
- 00:29:53Landing Pad so I'll tell you as soon as
- 00:29:54we're done crashing
- 00:29:56remember the signal receiver down by the
- 00:29:58rocket well this is the signal
- 00:30:00transmitter and using this we can keep
- 00:30:03our surface base constantly informed
- 00:30:05about everything we've got up here in
- 00:30:07orbit but we can do better than that we
- 00:30:09can create a system where we set certain
- 00:30:11levels of whatever items we want up here
- 00:30:13so that they're automatically added to
- 00:30:14the rocket down on navis and to do that
- 00:30:17is relatively simple by reading all the
- 00:30:19items with a circuit and multiplying it
- 00:30:21by negative one we can then add that to
- 00:30:23a constant combinator the constant
- 00:30:25combinator simply contains the amount of
- 00:30:27any item we want as a positive value and
- 00:30:30one that's added to the actual amount if
- 00:30:32the number is still positive that means
- 00:30:33we have a deficit of that item here's
- 00:30:35the values from our space base except
- 00:30:37down on navis the items were missing
- 00:30:40being positive is important because then
- 00:30:42I can plug those values into this
- 00:30:43requester warehouse and set the mode of
- 00:30:45operation to set requests suddenly those
- 00:30:48positive values are turned into requests
- 00:30:50that are logistic spots will take care
- 00:30:52of automatically
- 00:30:58as they're loaded into the rocket you
- 00:31:00can see the filters go down because we
- 00:31:02factor in the Rocket's inventory as well
- 00:31:04once this box has no more requests we'll
- 00:31:06know that the Rockets inventory plus the
- 00:31:08supplies in space is greater than or
- 00:31:10equal to the amount we sent in the
- 00:31:12constant combinator
- 00:31:13and that is an automatically
- 00:31:15replenishing Supply rocket space
- 00:31:17exploration if you don't know circuits
- 00:31:19going in you'll know them going out
- 00:31:22and if I want something else up here I
- 00:31:24simply add it to the combinator
- 00:31:26we need more power so here's more solar
- 00:31:31did I mention we need a lot of oil well
- 00:31:33we need a lot of oil
- 00:31:36oh yeah Rockets will just crash on their
- 00:31:39own sometimes you just gotta live with
- 00:31:41it
- 00:31:43why am I storing all this steam find out
- 00:31:46later
- 00:31:47okay so now what we work on the next
- 00:31:50science of course but this is where it
- 00:31:52starts to get complicated for starters
- 00:31:54both of these Sciences need resources
- 00:31:56that aren't even on this planet not to
- 00:31:58mention all the weird stuff like Thermo
- 00:32:01fluid plasma stream and machine learning
- 00:32:03data also high production and utility
- 00:32:06science you're looking a little
- 00:32:07different since I last saw you the only
- 00:32:10real similarity is the name anyway I
- 00:32:13don't know much about the other stuff
- 00:32:14but I do know that these rough
- 00:32:16substrates are needed to make the
- 00:32:17machine learning data
- 00:32:19something else we'll need our iron
- 00:32:20ingots which can only be made inside of
- 00:32:22an industrial furnace by turning iron
- 00:32:24ore into molten iron using pyro flux yep
- 00:32:28we've finally got a use for that red
- 00:32:29stuff we've been stockpiling after that
- 00:32:32we can turn the molten iron into ingots
- 00:32:34using a casting Machine by the way you
- 00:32:36can see written on the back of them the
- 00:32:38words placeholder
- 00:32:40all I need to do is put the finished
- 00:32:42ingots into a provider chest and my bots
- 00:32:44will handle the rest and my rocket
- 00:32:46crashed again this is only like a two
- 00:32:49percent chance by the way
- 00:32:51so another ingredient we need in our
- 00:32:53grand journey is something called
- 00:32:54chemical gel we just need to shoot some
- 00:32:57petroleum gas into orbit in spite of the
- 00:33:00stronger solar in orbit we're still
- 00:33:01having power problems up here so the
- 00:33:03first use of this chemical gel will be
- 00:33:05to make better solar panels they're a
- 00:33:07bit bigger but they produce 400
- 00:33:09kilowatts instead of 60 which means in
- 00:33:11terms of space they're five times more
- 00:33:14efficient also you can walk on them so I
- 00:33:17can set up everything to make the next
- 00:33:18Sciences but I still won't have those
- 00:33:20extra planetary resources I need if only
- 00:33:23there was some way to do them both
- 00:33:24simultaneously oh yeah I have minions
- 00:33:28for that so he's gonna work on that
- 00:33:30while I build the science the day night
- 00:33:32cycle on that planet is like 54 minutes
- 00:33:35long so solar power straight up won't
- 00:33:37work for like 20 minutes straight but
- 00:33:40apparently that raw vulcanite is
- 00:33:41flammable so he's managed to power
- 00:33:43everything with those crappy burner
- 00:33:45generators they are surprisingly useful
- 00:33:47here mostly because they don't need any
- 00:33:49water which is uh in pretty sure its
- 00:33:52Supply
- 00:33:53we'll check in on him later
- 00:33:56alright first things first we're gonna
- 00:33:58need some Thermo fluid it might look
- 00:34:00annoying to make and that's because it
- 00:34:01kind of is but this is where it gets
- 00:34:03interesting nothing that uses Thermo
- 00:34:05fluid actually consumes it it just warms
- 00:34:08it up except for one process I'm
- 00:34:11terrible at doing one thing at a time
- 00:34:12though so here's the plasma stream all
- 00:34:15we gotta do is zap some chemical gel
- 00:34:16along with some rocks
- 00:34:19okay these thermal radiators take in hot
- 00:34:22Thermo fluid and cool it down losing a
- 00:34:24little in the process but outputting
- 00:34:26almost as much as went in
- 00:34:28the glow is strangely alluring
- 00:34:32and while we were busy with that the
- 00:34:34other helper has just crash landed on
- 00:34:36this frozen planet in the search for
- 00:34:38cryonite and uh didn't need to search
- 00:34:40hard because that's right next to him if
- 00:34:42it wasn't obvious we can only find
- 00:34:44crynight from Frozen biomes and
- 00:34:45vulcanite from volcanic ones they're not
- 00:34:48limited to those two planets either but
- 00:34:49they're most abundant and totally frozen
- 00:34:51are totally volcanic planets and we want
- 00:34:54abundance if building a new mine every
- 00:34:57time one runs dry is annoying on now Vis
- 00:34:59just imagine it on other planets at
- 00:35:02least there's water here we'll also
- 00:35:04check on him later
- 00:35:05all right now we need some machine
- 00:35:07learning data for that we'll need some
- 00:35:09of those rough substrates we made
- 00:35:11earlier first we gotta polish them in
- 00:35:13this decontamination facility it also
- 00:35:15creates some garbage like contaminated
- 00:35:17Cosmic water and scrap but I don't care
- 00:35:19about dealing with those just stick them
- 00:35:21in a chest now we use the polished
- 00:35:24substrate to create blank data cards
- 00:35:26which then goes into these super
- 00:35:27computers along with some cool Thermo
- 00:35:30fluid which gets heated up by the
- 00:35:31process and pumped back into the
- 00:35:33radiators I've also made this third one
- 00:35:34that reformats broken data cards even
- 00:35:37though we don't have a way to break them
- 00:35:38yet you may have noticed that a lot of
- 00:35:40these processes are outputting scrap as
- 00:35:42a byproduct and yes that is becoming a
- 00:35:45pattern but there's machine learning
- 00:35:47data
- 00:35:48now we just gotta manufacture it not as
- 00:35:51easy as it seems though mostly because
- 00:35:53this base is a mess all of the other
- 00:35:55things we need like solar panels and
- 00:35:57efficiency modules are already in space
- 00:35:59thanks to my Supply system so now we
- 00:36:01just gotta wait for the cry night and
- 00:36:02vulcanite to show up this setup is uh
- 00:36:05not the best but almost 30 hours in this
- 00:36:08is still just a starter base
- 00:36:10and then suddenly vulcanite falls from
- 00:36:13the heavens and shortly after we've got
- 00:36:16science
- 00:36:18it's a mess of a base but it works
- 00:36:22let's see what kind of Base this
- 00:36:23vulcanite came from
- 00:36:28uh
- 00:36:30you know what as long as it's giving me
- 00:36:32vulcanite I don't really care
- 00:36:34now we've finally got beacons as well as
- 00:36:36these big mining drills which are like
- 00:36:38regular mining drills except bigger and
- 00:36:40therefore better
- 00:36:42and now cry night has arrived
- 00:36:46this base looks a lot better it's only
- 00:36:49got some minor power problems
- 00:36:52well what matters is it gets us cryonite
- 00:36:54slowly
- 00:36:56that'll let us research Logistics
- 00:36:58systems I've been doing pretty well with
- 00:37:00a handful of requester Chess that the
- 00:37:02game gives you but I'd really like to
- 00:37:04build my own now here's another use for
- 00:37:06pyroflux more efficient glass 50 more to
- 00:37:10be precise it's a good Band-Aid for a
- 00:37:12dwindling Stone mines also we can use
- 00:37:15beacons now they transfer 50 of a
- 00:37:18module's effect to anything in range
- 00:37:21this is one of space exploration's
- 00:37:23biggest changes these beacons can hold
- 00:37:25eight modules each the only downside is
- 00:37:28buildings can only be affected by one
- 00:37:30Beacon at a time if two beacons are
- 00:37:32affecting the same building it just
- 00:37:33won't work anymore I guess in the base
- 00:37:36game you surround buildings with beacons
- 00:37:38but in this mod you surround beacons
- 00:37:40with buildings honestly I like it now we
- 00:37:44can speed up our efficiency modules and
- 00:37:45help deal with the oil problems that
- 00:37:47never went away playing for so long
- 00:37:49without beacons and requester chests I
- 00:37:52feel whole again

- 00:38:07surprise of No One the vulcanite base
- 00:38:09stopped working you see uh he didn't
- 00:38:11leave any power generation that didn't
- 00:38:13require processing the vulcanite first
- 00:38:15at least the important research is
- 00:38:17already done
- 00:38:18you don't know how good it feels to
- 00:38:20finally have this kind of power armor on
- 00:38:22it only took 30 hours
- 00:38:25we've also unlocked coal liquefaction
- 00:38:27which I'm going to make so he stopped
- 00:38:28running out of oil every 10 minutes
- 00:38:31basically I'm just going down a big
- 00:38:33checklist of errands
- 00:38:39after a busy schedule of standing around

- 00:39:15factorial life it's not like we can beat
- 00:39:18space exploration with it well maybe we
- 00:39:21could but it would be like running the
- 00:39:22Indy 500 in a Flintstones car point
- 00:39:25being we need to expand and that
- 00:39:27requires uh negotiating with the natives
- 00:39:31we're going to be negotiating a pretty
- 00:39:33wide area so we'd better be prepared
- 00:39:38with a nest like this all we really need
- 00:39:40are laser suits but they're gonna get a
- 00:39:42little bigger
- 00:39:46like this one for example but you may
- 00:39:49recall a certain weapon I picked up some
- 00:39:51time ago
- 00:39:56with half the nests gone it's much
- 00:39:58easier to clear out the rest but this
- 00:40:00was just one nest and they get bigger

- 00:42:20unfortunately we're not the only ones

- 00:42:26swarming again in no time and so Begins
- 00:42:28the quest to build a million of walls
- 00:42:30around everything it's mostly just copy
- 00:42:32pasting this one pattern about a million
- 00:42:34times this took me five hours so let's
- 00:42:37just skip to when it's done
- 00:42:40one problem with defenses this far out
- 00:42:43is how you maintain them obviously you
- 00:42:45use robots but you can't just put them
- 00:42:47all on the same network not unless
- 00:42:48you're really dedicated supplying them
- 00:42:51manually with Bots isn't really an
- 00:42:52option either since they blow up all the
- 00:42:54time so instead I've made something
- 00:42:56similar to my auto rocket resupplyer in
- 00:42:58which this train keeps everything topped
- 00:43:00up with random supplies whenever one
- 00:43:02section runs low it also carries oil for
- 00:43:04the flame throwers it works okay it's
- 00:43:08got some problems but I'm not gonna
- 00:43:09bother redesigning it also artillery
- 00:43:13I've even wired up the inserter for the
- 00:43:15artillery shell so it won't fire unless
- 00:43:17I want it to
- 00:43:19by the way if you're going to be
- 00:43:20jetpacking over large bodies of water
- 00:43:22make sure you have fuel in your
- 00:43:24inventory
- 00:43:28do I happen to be looking through all
- 00:43:29the celestial bodies we've uncovered and
- 00:43:31suddenly this asteroid belt catches my
- 00:43:33eye there's a something there it's some
- 00:43:36kind of ruined spaceship obviously this
- 00:43:39calls for immediate investigation
- 00:43:43definitely looks like a spaceship
- 00:43:47I guess this is where you control it
- 00:43:49unstable some sections will disconnect
- 00:43:52when moving hmm unstable I'll say
- 00:43:55there's a bunch of stuff in these chests
- 00:43:57though like a replacement engine and
- 00:43:59some spare walls seems like we can fix
- 00:44:02it
- 00:44:06seems to be fueled with this eye on
- 00:44:08stream stuff then we fix up the walls
- 00:44:11and just maybe this thing will fly so
- 00:44:14let's set our destination to novice
- 00:44:15orbit

- 00:44:27except now we're being assaulted by

- 00:44:31those three solar panels just can't keep

- 00:44:35we try using our personal lasers and
- 00:44:37shooting them but it's not very
- 00:44:39effective
- 00:44:42I don't think this thing is space Worthy
- 00:44:51well in spite of everything we get back
- 00:44:52to our home orbit
- 00:44:54it's almost as if this slot was made for
- 00:44:57this thing
- 00:44:58not sure what we can use it for but
- 00:45:00we've got a spaceship now hooray all
- 00:45:03right back to less exciting things by
- 00:45:06the way did you know this whole time the
- 00:45:07vulcanite planet was still broken maybe
- 00:45:10it'll work better this time here's the
- 00:45:12thing that turns on the artillery and
- 00:45:14yes I know it says tog key articery at
- 00:45:17the time of recording there was a bug in
- 00:45:18text place that swapped L's and K's
- 00:45:24it's working again kind of so now that
- 00:45:29we've captured all this space we should
- 00:45:31probably do something with it and that
- 00:45:33something will be Base number two this
- 00:45:36time it's personal also this time we're
- 00:45:38actually using trains a big base
- 00:45:41requires big Power you might recognize
- 00:45:44this reactor design rails and reactors
- 00:45:46the only things I actually blueprint
- 00:45:48across games
- 00:45:50the mysterious steam tanks have grown a
- 00:45:52limb
- 00:45:53well we got a bunch of train tracks down
- 00:45:55time to set up some mines probably a
- 00:45:57better design than this but whatever
- 00:46:01foreign
- 00:46:02so that was a warning for a coronal mass
- 00:46:05ejection basically it means the sun is
- 00:46:07angry at us you may remember those laser
- 00:46:10beams from the start of the game well
- 00:46:11it's gonna happen again except this time
- 00:46:13we actually have stuff worth blowing up
- 00:46:15the good news is there is a way to stop
- 00:46:17it this building called an umbrella
- 00:46:20basically it absorbs ungodly amounts of
- 00:46:22energy to stop the beams from ever
- 00:46:24spawning that was the purpose of the
- 00:46:25steam batteries to try and store enough
- 00:46:27energy to eat this thing entirely this
- 00:46:30one is gonna Peak at around 2.4
- 00:46:31gigawatts with our solar and nuclear
- 00:46:34combined we've got about 1.8 gigawatts
- 00:46:36plus a bunch of accumulator charge but
- 00:46:38that's where the steam battery comes in
- 00:46:40it'll help us weather that extra little
- 00:46:42bit now that it's mostly drained to the
- 00:46:44accumulators the steam starts coming in
- 00:46:46but the worst is already over just to
- 00:46:48show you what would happen if this
- 00:46:49wasn't here
- 00:46:55but it only lasts a few seconds maybe I
- 00:46:57should have let it rip through my whole
- 00:46:58base for the content ah well I got a
- 00:47:01base to build I've already set up trans
- 00:47:03for all the basic resources so now we
- 00:47:05just need a place to put them these are
- 00:47:07just some basic unloading stations to
- 00:47:09handle the iron copper and stone and
- 00:47:11some forges nothing major these
- 00:47:13industrial furnaces are just straight up
- 00:47:15way better than electric furnaces and I
- 00:47:18don't know I guess I'll put the stone
- 00:47:19processing up here even though
- 00:47:21industrial furnaces are a million times
- 00:47:23better we still need electric furnaces
- 00:47:25to make the bricks
- 00:47:27and then comes the glass also using the
- 00:47:29Pyro flux recipe again we'll also need
- 00:47:31the Crushers this should be capable of
- 00:47:33outputting eight full belts of sand
- 00:47:39eight full belts when it's fully speed
- 00:47:41beaconed at least but I don't need that
- 00:47:42kind of production right now with all
- 00:47:44the basic resources we can actually
- 00:47:46build some stuff and right now the most
- 00:47:48important thing we could possibly build
- 00:47:50is concrete everyone knows it's not a
- 00:47:52real base unless it's got concrete
- 00:47:57all right now we're gonna need to make
- 00:47:59the oil so let's set up a base next to
- 00:48:01this little Lake over here
- 00:48:09I'm also going to set up some coal
- 00:48:11liquefaction as a backup in case the
- 00:48:13main refineries ever run out
- 00:48:16here's where the coal train goes
- 00:48:20and with a lot of oil comes a lot of oil
- 00:48:22cracking fortunately the same design for
- 00:48:24heavy oil cracking works for light oil
- 00:48:26cracking as well so we just gotta copy
- 00:48:28and paste the same design a couple times
- 00:48:30then all that leaves is the fun of
- 00:48:32routing all the fluids after all that
- 00:48:34here's plastic it's worth mentioning
- 00:48:36again how much I like the beacon change
- 00:48:39I just never cared for surrounding one
- 00:48:40building with 12 beacons
- 00:48:43also might as well build the sulfur here
- 00:48:45as well coincidentally it's pretty much
- 00:48:47the same build as the oil cracking soap
- 00:48:49with inserters on the inside instead of
- 00:48:51pipes
- 00:48:53I'll put sulfuric acid up here as well
- 00:48:55and I'll bring the iron in from above
- 00:48:57then I'll load it on a train over here
- 00:48:59same thing with the lubricant to the
- 00:49:01right now you might be thinking that
- 00:49:03this train design is a little
- 00:49:04nonsensical and that's because it
- 00:49:06actually is the last oil products we
- 00:49:09need are all the fuels same build as
- 00:49:11last time I've also got a little build
- 00:49:12for solid fuel from petroleum gas just
- 00:49:15in case it overflows normally you'd
- 00:49:17never need anything like that but this
- 00:49:18mod uses a lot of light oil so it is
- 00:49:21possible to get deadlocked and petroleum
- 00:49:22gas anyway this is where we load all the
- 00:49:25fuel onto trains and the rail network
- 00:49:27becomes even more insane now to actually
- 00:49:31turn on the oil this is my favorite part
- 00:49:34of factorio just turning these big
- 00:49:36things on and watching them come to life
- 00:49:39why would anyone do drugs when they
- 00:49:41could just play factorio although it's
- 00:49:43unclear which of the two is worse
- 00:49:47can't wait to actually use this rocket
- 00:49:49fuel but we got quite a ways to go and
- 00:49:51by we I mean me it's only gonna be like
- 00:49:54three minutes for you the light oil is
- 00:49:56already deadlocked so here's the Circa
- 00:49:58that burns off the excess petroleum gas
- 00:50:00if the gas is 95 full and the oil is
- 00:50:02under 40 percent
- 00:50:08all right we're back up here so now with
- 00:50:11all the oil sorted out we're gonna need
- 00:50:13some circuits a lot of circuits
- 00:50:18always better to have too many than too
- 00:50:20few
- 00:50:24now it may seem ridiculous to make this
- 00:50:26Lane eight belts wide when I have a
- 00:50:28fourth of the forges required to
- 00:50:29saturate that but you're just gonna need
- 00:50:31to trust me on this one
- 00:50:33regardless even though this isn't even
- 00:50:34close to our maximum output we'll still
- 00:50:36have some circuits to play around with
- 00:50:38so here's where we're gonna make
- 00:50:39advanced circuits here's where the
- 00:50:42plastic train pulls in basically this
- 00:50:44whole base is some weird amalgam of main
- 00:50:46bus and double-headed trains I'd like to
- 00:50:48call this design disciplined spaghetti
- 00:50:51now you might wonder what brain disease
- 00:50:53would compel someone to build something
- 00:50:54like this and the reasons are as follows
- 00:50:57because I can and because someone
- 00:50:59complained in the last video that my
- 00:51:00bases weren't optimal enough
- 00:51:05personally I like it when a bass
- 00:51:07straddles the line between insanity and
- 00:51:09genius
- 00:51:10I guess I'll put the heat shielding up
- 00:51:12here conveniently I can just repurpose
- 00:51:14the red circuit design and look at that
- 00:51:17beautiful routing of the steel belt
- 00:51:20since our supplies are so far away it
- 00:51:22always takes the robots while to build
- 00:51:23these things
- 00:51:30so what's next sulfuric acid stuff I
- 00:51:33guess
- 00:51:36you know when you need to move the whole
- 00:51:37thing one tile up well at least we get
- 00:51:40to watch the bot swarm
- 00:51:45I can also use the heat shielding design
- 00:51:47for the rcu's and LDS
- 00:51:54this is one of those uh put anything
- 00:51:56where it fits kind of Base but despite
- 00:51:58looking like a mess it's actually very
- 00:52:00versatile using rails like this might
- 00:52:02not be efficient but it is fun even if I
- 00:52:05did commit the ultimate sin by putting a
- 00:52:07bi-directional section on a one-way
- 00:52:09track
- 00:52:15here's the boring stuff like
- 00:52:16multi-cylinder engines and small
- 00:52:18electric motors I also added in a new
- 00:52:20belt automation facility this thing is a
- 00:52:23bit of a weird design though some people
- 00:52:25would also consider turning your main
- 00:52:27buses in
- 00:52:33I think I need more Robo ports
- 00:52:35here's the multi-cylinder engines
- 00:52:37they're only used in chemical science so
- 00:52:39they're not that exciting also big
- 00:52:42electric motors
- 00:52:48I guess I'll remake all the Sciences
- 00:52:49even though I'm not going to use them
- 00:52:51for another 50 hours
- 00:52:55we've already got all the stuff to build
- 00:52:57a rocket nearby so let's just put it
- 00:52:58right here

- 00:53:55modules up here they're really annoying
- 00:53:57to me because they all take something
- 00:53:58like sulfur solid fuel or glass but
- 00:54:01remember we'll need those productivity
- 00:54:03and efficiency modules for the space
- 00:54:05science later can't make the other tier
- 00:54:073 modules until I get a steady supply of
- 00:54:09vulcanite and cryonite all that's really
- 00:54:11left is the supply area oh yeah I never
- 00:54:14got around to mentioning it before but
- 00:54:15this mod also includes a robot attrition
- 00:54:17which basically means your Logistics
- 00:54:19spots sometimes just explode it's not
- 00:54:22too bad on novice but it can get rough
- 00:54:24on other planets also there's a limit on
- 00:54:26how many logistic spots you can have at
- 00:54:28a time and if you go over that limit
- 00:54:30your Bots start crashing into one
- 00:54:31another you can increase it with
- 00:54:33research but right now it can only have
- 00:54:35something like 1500 so filling this
- 00:54:37place with supplies is gonna take a
- 00:54:38while
- 00:54:39finally cargo sections they're still
- 00:54:43complicated and annoying but I guess I'm
- 00:54:44used to it now I'm just gonna let the
- 00:54:46robots handle moving the cargo sections
- 00:54:48around here's the train that brings the
- 00:54:50fuel for the Rockets we'll put here like
- 00:54:52this one I'm gonna use it to carry the
- 00:54:54science into space but don't hold your
- 00:54:56breath also building this base took so
- 00:54:58long the sun is angry at me again and
- 00:55:00whoever built this neglected to realize
- 00:55:02that if all the power is going into the
- 00:55:04umbrella those pumps won't work so so
- 00:55:06much for the backup steam battery well
- 00:55:09luckily they didn't blow anything up and
- 00:55:11we already blocked like 80 percent of it
- 00:55:13now we can make all the cargo Rockets we
- 00:55:15could ever want and with that our base
- 00:55:17is pretty much done except not really
- 00:55:20we're still only making a fourth of the
- 00:55:22iron and copper we'll need and while I
- 00:55:24could run all through a creation to
- 00:55:25connect a dozen mines that'll eventually
- 00:55:27run out I've got a better idea and by
- 00:55:29better I mean probably worse but more
- 00:55:32fun so yeah uh better instead of making
- 00:55:36plates here what if we made them on an
- 00:55:38entirely different planet it might sound
- 00:55:40really stupid considering how expensive
- 00:55:42it is to launch a cargo rocket but we
- 00:55:44can send the rocket parts from here and
- 00:55:45just Source the fuel locally now a cargo
- 00:55:48rocket only has 500 slots and plates
- 00:55:50only stacked to a hundred so each rocket
- 00:55:52could only hold 50 000 iron plates
- 00:55:54switch if you wanted to fill all our
- 00:55:56empty belts would require launching a
- 00:55:58rocket every three minutes now that
- 00:56:00sounds like a deal breaker but we won't
- 00:56:02be shipping plates we'll be shipping
- 00:56:04ingots in Iron Ingot can be turned into
- 00:56:0610 iron plates and since they stacked a
- 00:56:0950 that means we can fit five times as
- 00:56:11much plate on one rocket suddenly
- 00:56:13setting a rocket every 15 minutes feels
- 00:56:16a little more doable all that leaves is
- 00:56:18finding a good Planet we'll need pyro
- 00:56:20flux from vulcanite to actually make the
- 00:56:22ingots but this planet looks pretty good
- 00:56:24it's got tons of iron and it's got
- 00:56:26vulcanite only problem is it's waterless
- 00:56:29and 100 threat but I think I could work
- 00:56:31with that
- 00:56:33so here's a rocket loaded with a ton of
- 00:56:35supplies especially ammunition the
- 00:56:38gang's all here so let's go for it
- 00:56:41theoretically we can make rocket fuel
- 00:56:43from vulcanites so even though the
- 00:56:44planet doesn't have any crude oil or
- 00:56:46water we'll still be able to fuel our
- 00:56:47Rockets also the solar on this planet
- 00:56:49sucks so we'll need to use nuclear power
- 00:56:51for all the laser turrets we're gonna
- 00:56:53put down fortunately this mod has ways
- 00:56:55to make nuclear even on waterless
- 00:56:57planets

- 00:57:45will give us at least some power I get
- 00:57:47the defenses up pretty fast we're not
- 00:57:50producing any pollution so the biters
- 00:57:51are leaving us alone for now
- 00:57:56I give the flame throw some oil and fill
- 00:57:58the ammo belt that'll be enough to fend
- 00:58:00off any minor attacks
- 00:58:02here's the condenser turbines doing
- 00:58:04their job the water ice comes from now
- 00:58:06this orbit it's not a big reactor but
- 00:58:09it'll be plenty for our turrets there's
- 00:58:11no resources in this bubble of safety so
- 00:58:13we're gonna need to expand and this is
- 00:58:16how we're going to accomplish that it's
- 00:58:18a rocket filled with 500 artillery
- 00:58:20shells
- 00:58:23I don't think 500 is gonna be enough
- 00:58:39the artillery clear all the nearby nests
- 00:58:42on their own but now it's time for a
- 00:58:43little manual override
- 00:58:54we're having a great time
- 00:59:03uh the lag still worth it
- 00:59:07and that's most of them annihilated good
- 00:59:10work
- 00:59:11now we can go check out that weird
- 00:59:13pyramid thing
- 00:59:17hmm
- 00:59:21there's biters inside of course there's
- 00:59:23biters inside why wouldn't there be and
- 00:59:27my assistants appear to have entered at

- 00:59:37and I have no idea what it means hey
- 00:59:39free tier 9 speed module but it's
- 00:59:41probably important so I'll take a

- 00:59:49turns out making a giant wall takes a
- 00:59:52while but let's get down to this
- 00:59:53vulcanite first we need to crush it then
- 00:59:56we need to enrich it with sulfur and
- 00:59:57then throw the crushed and enriched
- 00:59:59vulcanite into a furnace along with some
- 01:00:01water and petroleum gas I need to
- 01:00:03apologize for making fun of my
- 01:00:04assistance vulcanite design it's
- 01:00:06actually kind of hard after doing all
- 01:00:08that it suddenly hits me I hate this
- 01:00:10planet I need to ship in water sulfur
- 01:00:12and petroleum just to get a trickle of
- 01:00:14pyroflux and the Pyro flux to Rocket
- 01:00:17Fuel recipe is honestly pretty horrible
- 01:00:1860 pyro flux for one bit of Rocket Fuel
- 01:00:21that means roughly 66 petroleum gas each
- 01:00:24Rocket Fuel I'd be better off shipping
- 01:00:26in barrels of light oil than turning
- 01:00:28vulcanite into Fuel and I'd be way
- 01:00:30better off just shipping and process
- 01:00:31vulcanite from somewhere else
- 01:00:33so you know what I'm gonna do just leave
- 01:00:36this place blows
- 01:00:39but it is not enough that I should
- 01:00:41merely leave it should also be destroyed
- 01:00:43less dramatically if I'm not gonna be
- 01:00:45using that surface I want to delete it
- 01:00:47so it doesn't lag us or make the save
- 01:00:48file any bigger than it already is but
- 01:00:51to do that we need to remove pretty much
- 01:00:53every man-made object on the planet
- 01:00:55first using the fuel from the janky
- 01:00:57pyroflux build we'll be able to bring
- 01:00:59back the mountain of rather expensive
- 01:01:01supplies we use to build the wall but
- 01:01:03after that we need to explode everything
- 01:01:05we're not taking with us and the biters
- 01:01:07decided to help us out by detonating our
- 01:01:09nuclear power plant they didn't survive
- 01:01:12blowing everything up while also leaving
- 01:01:14is a bit of a tall order since you need
- 01:01:16the silo to be intact but thankfully we
- 01:01:18have artillery but if we're using
- 01:01:20artillery to kill everything who's gonna
- 01:01:22blow up the blower upper our friends of
- 01:01:25course they're only a little mad they
- 01:01:28decide to ignore the chests but this is
- 01:01:30why I made the backup gun
- 01:01:35I don't think he's gonna make it

- 01:02:03all right time to build real vulcanite
- 01:02:06processing Bravo vulcanoi takes twice as
- 01:02:08long as something like Stone to mine
- 01:02:10plus it only Stacks to 20. so each cargo
- 01:02:12wagon Can Only Hold 800. Still Trends
- 01:02:15are the best way to go
- 01:02:16it's been like 60 hours since we first
- 01:02:19made it but it's time I explained
- 01:02:20vulcanite processing first we need to
- 01:02:23crush it six chunks of raw vulcani turns
- 01:02:25into three crushed vulcanite but it also
- 01:02:27has a chance of creating stone as a
- 01:02:29byproduct and a 10 chance of making
- 01:02:31enriched vulcanite we need the crushed
- 01:02:33and enriched vulcanite to make the
- 01:02:34vulcanite blocks but at a two to one
- 01:02:36ratio If all we're doing is crushing
- 01:02:39we'll end up with about 59 leftover
- 01:02:41Crush for every block we produce and
- 01:02:43that's where enrichment comes in with
- 01:02:45sulfur and one enriched vulcanite as a
- 01:02:47catalyst it effectively lets us turn
- 01:02:49Crush into enriched vulcanite except it
- 01:02:52spits out even more garbage in the form
- 01:02:54of sand as well as about half the crutch
- 01:02:55we put in if we just ran it through this
- 01:02:57process once we'd still have way too
- 01:03:00much Crush so we need a way to feed the
- 01:03:01output of the centrifuges back in
- 01:03:03through his input but also in a way that
- 01:03:05allows the excess through to turn into
- 01:03:07blocks and doesn't deadlock by either
- 01:03:08running out or overflowing with enriched
- 01:03:11thankfully priority input Splitters
- 01:03:13exist as long as they separate crushed
- 01:03:15and enriched to their own side of the
- 01:03:16Bell adults and prioritize the input
- 01:03:18from the centrifuges over the output
- 01:03:20from The Crushers it should just work so
- 01:03:22now the question becomes how do we
- 01:03:24Supply it well for the sulfur I'm just
- 01:03:26going to slam down a rocket Silo right
- 01:03:28here it's my base I can do what I want
- 01:03:30with it once it's full I write it back
- 01:03:33and land on this pad automating cargo
- 01:03:35Rockets like this is pretty easy from
- 01:03:37now on it'll just launch another rocket
- 01:03:39whenever The Landing Pad is empty I got
- 01:03:41the water delivered from space and the
- 01:03:43petroleum gas I can get from core Mining
- 01:03:45and coal liquefaction since it doesn't
- 01:03:47really take that much
- 01:03:49now that we've got it if you want to
- 01:03:50send this vulcanite anywhere we'll still
- 01:03:52need Rocket Fuel I know I said this
- 01:03:54recipe kind of sucks but if you're
- 01:03:56already Mass producing vulcanite it's
- 01:03:58just the easiest way to get Rocket Fuel
- 01:04:00plus it gives us a use for all the stone
- 01:04:02and sand
- 01:04:03we'll be shipping this vulcanite to
- 01:04:04multiple areas and that means multiple
- 01:04:07rockets and this is where we're gonna
- 01:04:09receive shipments of Rocket Parts this
- 01:04:11transmitter will tell the home base when
- 01:04:13we need a new shipment
- 01:04:14putting that down however has made me
- 01:04:16aware that our horrific burner
- 01:04:18Arrangement is no longer sufficient this
- 01:04:21base is just too big time for nuclear
- 01:04:23power the condenser turbines are a
- 01:04:25little weird to build around seeing as
- 01:04:27you can't chain them together like the
- 01:04:28regular turbines
- 01:04:30absolutely indispensable though
- 01:04:34I'll automate the uranium delivery later
- 01:04:36but fuel cells last so long I hardly
- 01:04:39need to worry about it
- 01:04:42so this thing is going to tell the main
- 01:04:44base when we need rocket Parts but when
- 01:04:46snag is we don't need just rocket parts
- 01:04:48we also need a Space Capsule for every
- 01:04:50hundred if all we send is a number of
- 01:04:52cargo sections and space capsules those
- 01:04:54signals are getting muddled together
- 01:04:55with all the signals from the other
- 01:04:56planets we're going to end up supplying
- 01:04:58the obvious solution is to change it to
- 01:05:00a signal unique to this planet but then
- 01:05:02we need two unique signals for both the
- 01:05:03parts and the capsules that's just a
- 01:05:06little too ugly for me so by using the
- 01:05:08power of mathematics we will send two
- 01:05:10signals in one signal If I multiply the
- 01:05:13number of Rocket sections by a hundred
- 01:05:14and then encode that to the signal M for
- 01:05:17Mario I can then add that to the number
- 01:05:19of space capsules also encoded to M that
- 01:05:22signal gets sent to navis where we can
- 01:05:24finally decode it by dividing it by 100
- 01:05:26to get the number of Rocket sections and
- 01:05:28taking the modulus of 100 to get the
- 01:05:30number of space capsules doesn't need to
- 01:05:32be just two either I can fit as many as
- 01:05:34I want at least until it reaches the
- 01:05:36maximum number in factorio it's a pretty
- 01:05:38simple concept but pretty useful it's
- 01:05:41more or less the same reason your
- 01:05:42computer can turn a giant string of ones
- 01:05:44and zeros into a series of instructions
- 01:05:46now that we can send vulcanite anywhere
- 01:05:48we need it it's time for attempt number
- 01:05:50two this is where I'd like to introduce
- 01:05:53a concept I've decided to call the space
- 01:05:55exploration Shuffle it's the 20 minutes
- 01:05:57you spend running to and from your
- 01:05:59rocket trying to remember if you've
- 01:06:00forgotten anything as you get ready to
- 01:06:02blast off to another planet and you will
- 01:06:04always forget something
- 01:06:07so the mistake we made last time was
- 01:06:09going to a terrible Planet so let's go
- 01:06:11to a good Planet instead I'm a genius
- 01:06:14this one's got tons of copper loads of
- 01:06:17iron oil and water all around it seems
- 01:06:20perfect
- 01:06:21except uh it's also maximum threat
- 01:06:26I'm sure we'll be fine
- 01:06:33well at least we're not in the middle of
- 01:06:35the nest
- 01:06:45I am so glad for the glacier gun because
- 01:06:48I am trying my absolute hardest to stop
- 01:06:50them from getting in here and destroying
- 01:06:52all of our cargo
- 01:06:55finally my assistant start moving and
- 01:06:57take out all the nests
- 01:06:59thankfully our losses are minor
- 01:07:02the center of the planet is generally
- 01:07:04safe so we're gonna want to make our way
- 01:07:06over there
- 01:07:07this is looking like fun already
- 01:07:10I've already got my eyes on how much
- 01:07:12land I want to negotiate having a bunch
- 01:07:14of lakes like this makes capturing areas
- 01:07:16so much easier after scouting we load up
- 01:07:19all of our supplies and drive them
- 01:07:21towards the middle
- 01:07:22then park it in this horrible Circle my
- 01:07:24assistant made
- 01:07:26when you've got an infestation of
- 01:07:28Engineers they spread fast they're not
- 01:07:30going down without a fight though
- 01:07:33this is a PSA about the dangers of
- 01:07:36distracted driving
- 01:07:39the solar here is usable but you can't
- 01:07:41beat nuclear
- 01:07:43and we don't even need condenser
- 01:07:44turbines you never really appreciate
- 01:07:47water until they take it away
- 01:07:49well we've got our box of safety time to
- 01:07:52start blasting
- 01:08:09they might be a little mad
- 01:08:18foreign
- 01:08:21we're not even close to clearing this
- 01:08:23place out
- 01:08:32reloading
- 01:08:37just look at this pile of corpses

- 01:09:39well there it is I'm not sure how many
- 01:09:41maximum threat planets I've got left in
- 01:09:43me it's hard to believe this whole area
- 01:09:46used to be swarming with them
- 01:09:48after all that excitement now we get to
- 01:09:50do the factory part of factorio and as
- 01:09:53anyone knows the basis of a good Factory
- 01:09:55is a good rail system this is going to
- 01:09:57be a pretty big base so we're gonna need
- 01:09:59some pretty big Power so it's the
- 01:10:01triumphant return of my gigawatt reactor
- 01:10:04that's missing a few turbines since I
- 01:10:06miscalculated during my space
- 01:10:08exploration Shuffle but I'll get them
- 01:10:10eventually
- 01:10:11and now we get to set up the miners we
- 01:10:14could probably play this run for a
- 01:10:16thousand hours and still not deplete any
- 01:10:18of these copper mines in contrast the
- 01:10:21iron is only 60 richer than it is on
- 01:10:23novice but that's still enough to last
- 01:10:25us for quite a while and it's 60 more
- 01:10:28frequent too so if you run out we can
- 01:10:30just blow up some more biters
- 01:10:32while I was doing that my assistant set
- 01:10:34up some core mining so I just had a way
- 01:10:37to put it onto trains
- 01:10:38since this planet has copper as its main
- 01:10:40resource this core Miner will spit out
- 01:10:42tons of it it'll also give us a little
- 01:10:45bit of oil and pyroflux since there's
- 01:10:47almost no stone on this planet it'll be
- 01:10:49a good reliable source of it
- 01:10:51that's the minds now the forges and if
- 01:10:54we're expecting to get about six to
- 01:10:56eight blue belts of iron and copper out
- 01:10:58of this we're gonna need a lot of forges
- 01:11:00to make iron ingots we first need to
- 01:11:02make molten iron remember this is what
- 01:11:04all that vulcanite was for also since we
- 01:11:07get pretty much 50 more iron for free
- 01:11:09using this method we won't need to worry
- 01:11:10about the mines depleting nearly as much
- 01:11:15the copper design is the exact same as
- 01:11:17the iron
- 01:11:19I haven't talked much about the casting
- 01:11:21machines but they take 25 seconds to
- 01:11:23make one iron ingot if an iron ingot is
- 01:11:25worth 10 iron plates that means they
- 01:11:27make one plate every two and a half
- 01:11:28seconds that's about fifty percent
- 01:11:30slower than your average electric
- 01:11:31furnace and 200 slower than the
- 01:11:34industrial furnace so for the level of
- 01:11:37production I want we're going to need a
- 01:11:39lot of these and when I say a lot I mean
- 01:11:41a lot like over a thousand of them and
- 01:11:44this doesn't even cover the stealing
- 01:11:46it's
- 01:11:47unsurprisingly we're gonna need a few
- 01:11:49more shipments
- 01:11:54anyway let's make some pyro flux
- 01:11:57pyroflux takes sand as well as vulcanite
- 01:12:00so that's why I'm glad we have the core
- 01:12:01Miner up
- 01:12:03all of this vulcanite gets shared
- 01:12:04through the same tube
- 01:12:09now we get to Route the iron into the
- 01:12:11furnaces
- 01:12:13and finally launch our vulcanite rocket
- 01:12:25it's gonna take a while to fill it all
- 01:12:27with pyroflux but the Beast wakes
- 01:12:31since we're not actually consuming the
- 01:12:33molten iron yet and it has a bit of an
- 01:12:34interesting pattern as it goes
- 01:12:37now we gotta pipe it into the casting
- 01:12:39machines and Route in the copper
- 01:12:50so we're not only making iron ingots
- 01:12:52here but steel as well the steel ingots
- 01:12:54also take molten iron but they need coal
- 01:12:56too so the design for the iron and
- 01:12:58copper casters won't work here
- 01:13:00you only need like one coal for every
- 01:13:02bar of Steel and this planet has a
- 01:13:04decent enough Supply but of all the
- 01:13:05resources it's probably the most likely
- 01:13:07to run out two and a half thousand
- 01:13:09casting machines by the way
- 01:13:11all the ingots will flow this way where
- 01:13:13we can load them on Rockets
- 01:13:19we have one for copper one for steel and
- 01:13:22two for iron and that's because we'll
- 01:13:23need some iron ingots in space to make
- 01:13:25production science
- 01:13:29for our supply rocket we can copy the
- 01:13:31design straight from Marielle except
- 01:13:33instead of M for Marielle we encode it
- 01:13:35to T for Taurus
- 01:13:37the last thing we need to do is sort out
- 01:13:39the rocket fuel which isn't that hard
- 01:13:41seeing as we've already got a decent
- 01:13:42amount of oil on this planet
- 01:13:45it's just like any other oil build
- 01:13:47except we only really care about light
- 01:13:48oil since it's the best to turn into
- 01:13:50rocket fuel
- 01:13:55and here comes our first shipment of
- 01:13:58Rocket parts
- 01:13:59we're gonna use a lot of these here
- 01:14:02under display on navis is showing us
- 01:14:04live the number of cargo Parts on Taurus
- 01:14:06you can even see the number go down as
- 01:14:08they're being consumed to build Rockets
- 01:14:13foreign
- 01:14:15that's everything we'll need and now
- 01:14:17it's finally time for the moment of
- 01:14:19truth it's time to twist open that
- 01:14:21molten metal spigot
- 01:14:24this is what we've been waiting for this
- 01:14:26is why we're here these sweet sweet
- 01:14:28ingots

- 01:14:37still placeholder Graphics but who knows

- 01:14:49of underestimated the flow limitations
- 01:14:51of these pipes the steel casters aren't
- 01:14:53getting any molten iron
- 01:14:55but I get it to be good enough
- 01:14:57I would like to call this piece of art
- 01:14:59why I needed a one gigawatt reactor
- 01:15:08and we're pretty much done here I set up
- 01:15:10some janky supplies so the walls don't
- 01:15:12run out of repair packs and stuff but
- 01:15:13then it's back to novice
- 01:15:16now that we've got ingots we gotta turn
- 01:15:18them into plates and put them on the
- 01:15:19line
- 01:15:21it's not complicated we just need to put
- 01:15:23the ingots through an assembly machine
- 01:15:24once although the recipe to make copper
- 01:15:27plates is faster than the recipe to make
- 01:15:29iron plates which is a little bizarre
- 01:15:31but whatever
- 01:15:33but here we go

- 01:16:01and just watch that trickle of circuits

- 01:16:30build but it could still use some work
- 01:16:32after another Shuffle it's off we go
- 01:16:37for once we have a landing pad
- 01:16:40I need power but not like that much
- 01:16:42power unfortunately I don't have a 2x2
- 01:16:44blueprint on me so uh I gotta build it
- 01:16:46it's very ugly but uh just say it gives
- 01:16:49it character you know how you always
- 01:16:52forget something going to other planets
- 01:16:53well I forgot more rails
- 01:16:56the cry night is similar to vulcanite in
- 01:16:58that it has a mining speed of 200 and
- 01:17:00only Stacks to 20.
- 01:17:02to actually get the cryonite we mine it
- 01:17:04crush it steam it Forge it filled it
- 01:17:06fuel it zip and ship it
- 01:17:10all right but to actually talk about how
- 01:17:12it works it's kind of similar to
- 01:17:13vulcanite except not as complicated it
- 01:17:16also starts with crushing except it's a
- 01:17:18one-to-one ratio instead of a one to two
- 01:17:20and yep it still gives us sand as a
- 01:17:22byproduct he'll be getting most of the
- 01:17:24crynight from trans but I want to
- 01:17:26prioritize the output of the core miners
- 01:17:28the reason it's not as complicated as
- 01:17:30the vulcanite is because we don't need
- 01:17:31to Route the output into the input the
- 01:17:34next step is making crynight crystals
- 01:17:36way simpler than enriching vulcanite
- 01:17:38we're good as long as we make sure it
- 01:17:39doesn't overflow with water
- 01:17:43the belts may look complicated but it's
- 01:17:45just a way to deal with the sand
- 01:17:46byproduct and prioritize sending powder
- 01:17:48to the furnaces since they need both the
- 01:17:50powder and the crystals the krynei rods
- 01:17:53also take some heavy oil but just like
- 01:17:54the vulcanite it's only one there's a
- 01:17:57tiny amount of oil on this planet we use
- 01:17:58to make the heavy oil but there's no way
- 01:18:00we could fuel any Rockets with it
- 01:18:07that is cryonite rods
- 01:18:10so talking about fuel there's a problem
- 01:18:13we don't have oil or an abundance of
- 01:18:15coal we don't have pyro flux either
- 01:18:17theoretically I could ship in vulcanite
- 01:18:19blocks it makes them feel that way but
- 01:18:21it's so wasteful the core Miner makes
- 01:18:23some but not enough we need at least a
- 01:18:26thousand rocket fuels to launch one
- 01:18:27rocket it seems hopeless but that's
- 01:18:30where this extremely hilarious and
- 01:18:32extremely horrible recipe comes in
- 01:18:34we can make rocket fuel from nothing but
- 01:18:37water and a copper plate it might sound
- 01:18:39overpowered at first glance Until you
- 01:18:41realize that crafting time is 500
- 01:18:43seconds it would literally take one of
- 01:18:46these two weeks to make enough fuel to
- 01:18:48launch a single rocket so naturally we
- 01:18:50need a ton of them let me tell you you
- 01:18:52only use this recipe when you're
- 01:18:54desperate
- 01:18:55it draws more power than anything else
- 01:18:57and this is with maximum efficiency
- 01:18:59modules but it does make rocket fuel
- 01:19:02it's almost hard to believe
- 01:19:04we don't have uranium here so I'm
- 01:19:06setting up a way to request it similar
- 01:19:07to how I handle the cargo sections in
- 01:19:10fact it's the exact same I'm combining
- 01:19:12enriched and unenriched uranium into the
- 01:19:14same H signal
- 01:19:16so this cryo build isn't as fast as our
- 01:19:19vulcanite one but I don't think the
- 01:19:20demand for cryonite is all that high
- 01:19:22oh yeah those big things to the left I
- 01:19:25guess I never got around to you
- 01:19:26explaining them but they uh shoot
- 01:19:27meteors out of the air
- 01:19:29anyway we're done here
- 01:19:42I'm putting our first shipment here
- 01:19:44because we need the cry Knight to make
- 01:19:45tier 3 efficiency modules
- 01:19:49and here's automating the uranium
- 01:19:53now I hate to say it but this video is
- 01:19:56coming to an end this mod is enormous
- 01:19:58and we've still only scratched the
- 01:20:00surface so there's no way I could fit it
- 01:20:02all into one video and retain my sanity
- 01:20:05at least
- 01:20:06I wanted the Milestone of this video to
- 01:20:08be the completion of our ground base
- 01:20:09we've still got a lot more to add to it
- 01:20:11and lots more planets to visit but the
- 01:20:13next video will be all about our space
- 01:20:15space so I'm not trying to coerce you or
- 01:20:18anything but if you're perhaps
- 01:20:20interested in seeing the second part you

- 01:20:37for every hour I played I got less than
- 01:20:39a minute of footage and I would have had
- 01:20:41zero motivation to do any of this if it
