  • 00:00:00
4 years ago I started selling print on
  • 00:00:02
    demand products online and really
  • 00:00:04
quickly that went from bringing in a
  • 00:00:06
couple hundred a month to becoming a
  • 00:00:08
fulltime job that I do from home now if
  • 00:00:11
you've ever heard anything about selling
  • 00:00:13
print on demand you've probably heard
  • 00:00:15
people talking about what a good side
  • 00:00:16
hustle this is and it's really true a
  • 00:00:19
lot of people like to talk about how
  • 00:00:20
it's way too saturated nowadays but you
  • 00:00:22
really just need to know how to work the
  • 00:00:24
    system find products that people
  • 00:00:26
actually want make good designs and be
  • 00:00:28
able to upload them in a way that is
  • 00:00:30
going to help you get sales now in
  • 00:00:32
today's video this is not going to be
  • 00:00:34
just a bunch of tips to help you get
  • 00:00:35
started I am actually going to walk you
  • 00:00:37
through the a toz process of actually
  • 00:00:40
finding a niche in a product that is
  • 00:00:42
going to do well actually creating a
  • 00:00:44
design for that product uploading it to
  • 00:00:46
    your manufacturing partner making
  • 00:00:48
mockups and even being able to promote
  • 00:00:51
that on social media and drive
  • 00:00:52
additional traffic to that listing so
  • 00:00:54
I'm not going to waste any more time and
  • 00:00:56
we're really just going to jump into
  • 00:00:58
this whole process and by the end of it
  • 00:00:59
you should be able to make and upload
  • 00:01:01
your very own products to sell on print
  • 00:01:03
on demand now the very first thing I am
  • 00:01:05
going to do is pick what type of product
  • 00:01:08
that I want to sell now you've probably
  • 00:01:10
heard about selling mugs on print on
  • 00:01:13
demand websites or something like a
  • 00:01:15
t-shirt or a sweatshirt those are
  • 00:01:16
definitely the most common products but
  • 00:01:18
there really are a lot of products that
  • 00:01:20
some people don't even know are
  • 00:01:22
available to them to sell now the
  • 00:01:24
manufacturing partner that I use to sell
  • 00:01:26
my print on demand items is called
  • 00:01:28
printify now if you've never heard of
  • 00:01:30
them before they are kind of the
  • 00:01:31
middleman between you and a site like
  • 00:01:34
Etsy so you are going to be creating the
  • 00:01:36
designs and the listings but you're not
  • 00:01:38
making any of these products in your
  • 00:01:39
home printify is going to take care of
  • 00:01:42
all of that they are the white labeler
  • 00:01:44
that has the actual products they're
  • 00:01:45
going to store make ship them to all of
  • 00:01:48
your customers so all you have to do is
  • 00:01:50
integrate them with your Etsy account
  • 00:01:52
now I have a full walkthrough tutorial
  • 00:01:54
right here of how to do that if you've
  • 00:01:56
never integrated them before but it's
  • 00:01:58
really easy and they work seamlessly
  • 00:02:00
with Etsy so I am just over here on
  • 00:02:01
    their catalog on their bestselling
  • 00:02:03
products and we're just going to go
  • 00:02:05
through these and kind of pick one
  • 00:02:06
that's going to be easy for us to create
  • 00:02:08
a really good bestselling design for so
  • 00:02:11
they have all sorts of different
  • 00:02:13
t-shirts here but they also have some
  • 00:02:14
alternate products like you can sell a
  • 00:02:16
print onand candle or a mug stickers
  • 00:02:19
    phone cases blankets posters sweatshirts
  • 00:02:22
tank tops tapestries so really the sky
  • 00:02:25
is the limit if you can think of a
  • 00:02:27
product that is sold on someplace like
  • 00:02:28
Etsy or Amazon there a really good
  • 00:02:30
chance that printify has something they
  • 00:02:32
have over 800 different product types so
  • 00:02:34
really you can find whatever you want
  • 00:02:36
but truly the product that has made me
  • 00:02:39
the most money in print on demand it's
  • 00:02:40
how I really got my start is by selling
  • 00:02:42
T-shirts so that is kind of the
  • 00:02:44
    quintessential print on demain product
  • 00:02:46
you should probably learn first so I'm
  • 00:02:48
going to take you through exactly how
  • 00:02:49
you do that so I'm going to go with this
  • 00:02:52
unisex Jersey short slave tea from Bella
  • 00:02:54
and canvas but before we can really get
  • 00:02:57
started with uploading a product like
  • 00:02:59
this first we have to figure out what
  • 00:03:01
Niche we want to Target now this is the
  • 00:03:04
area that a lot of people get really
  • 00:03:05
tripped up in especially when they are
  • 00:03:07
new sellers it's super tempting to maybe
  • 00:03:10
make designs for things you're really
  • 00:03:12
passionate about things that you like or
  • 00:03:14
just cute designs that you see out in
  • 00:03:16
the wild or you think would make good
  • 00:03:17
apparel ideas so a lot of times I'll see
  • 00:03:20
new sellers making some cute designs but
  • 00:03:22
then the niche is something like cat mom
  • 00:03:25
or something like a teacher now those
  • 00:03:27
sell really well on print on Dem man but
  • 00:03:29
but nowadays it's just way too
  • 00:03:32
competitive and saturated to go for
  • 00:03:33
something super broad like that so it's
  • 00:03:36
really important that you do your due
  • 00:03:38
diligence in either researching a good
  • 00:03:40
Niche or finding something that has a
  • 00:03:42
lot less competition because it's a
  • 00:03:44
little bit more specific now I'm going
  • 00:03:46
to teach you a couple ways that you can
  • 00:03:48
do this now the very first way that is
  • 00:03:50
really easy to find a bunch of niches
  • 00:03:53
that are either trending right now or
  • 00:03:54
have been selling really well previously
  • 00:03:56
is by using some kind of research tool
  • 00:03:59
now there's a bunch of them out on the
  • 00:04:00
market but the one that I've really used
  • 00:04:02
almost since day one that's helped me
  • 00:04:04
really scale my business is called merch
  • 00:04:06
Informer now Merchant forer is basing
  • 00:04:09
all of its data off of the best selling
  • 00:04:11
apparel items on Amazon now since Amazon
  • 00:04:14
    is the biggest e-commerce platform
  • 00:04:16
typically when something is doing really
  • 00:04:18
well there it means that this is going
  • 00:04:20
to sell well on almost any platform so
  • 00:04:22
this is a great place to find good ideas
  • 00:04:25
now I am over on this side here and I
  • 00:04:27
just went to this movers and shakers
  • 00:04:29
section now what this section is is
  • 00:04:31
basically it's showing you products that
  • 00:04:33
were uploaded maybe a while ago they
  • 00:04:35
weren't getting sales and then all of
  • 00:04:37
the sudden their sales really took off
  • 00:04:40
so that means that maybe something is
  • 00:04:41
trending right now that is helping this
  • 00:04:43
do well or just this type of design is
  • 00:04:46
recently getting popular so we can take
  • 00:04:48
a lot of cues from this and find some
  • 00:04:50
really good Niche ideas so as you're
  • 00:04:52
scrolling through a lot of times I'll
  • 00:04:54
have a notebook and I'll just be taking
  • 00:04:55
note of some things that are doing well
  • 00:04:57
now this one immediately catches my eye
  • 00:04:59
it's class of 2037 so what a lot of
  • 00:05:03
people are doing is they are getting
  • 00:05:04
their kindergarteners a big shirt and
  • 00:05:07
then they are putting all of the years
  • 00:05:08
that they'll be in different grades and
  • 00:05:10
then taking a photo with their kid in
  • 00:05:12
this every single year to see how they
  • 00:05:14
grow now this is something that you
  • 00:05:15
could even think about doing for the
  • 00:05:17
next couple years so this one for 2037
  • 00:05:20
is trending but pretty soon kids are
  • 00:05:22
going to be in the class of 2038 so you
  • 00:05:25
could start thinking about like that or
  • 00:05:26
what I like to do a lot of times is
  • 00:05:28
instead of exactly copying what this is
  • 00:05:30
I might do a little bit of a different
  • 00:05:32
take on it so I might make a pink shirt
  • 00:05:35
design that has some like groovy font
  • 00:05:37
maybe a little bit like this one right
  • 00:05:39
here with some cutesy designs that would
  • 00:05:41
be perfect for maybe a little
  • 00:05:43
kindergarten girl so that's just one way
  • 00:05:45
that I kind of use this tool but you can
  • 00:05:47
kind of keep scrolling and then find
  • 00:05:49
some really great niches this way
  • 00:05:52
another good Niche that is really taking
  • 00:05:54
off right now is kind of these gender
  • 00:05:55
reveal shirts now they are getting
  • 00:05:57
cheesier and cheesier by the day but
  • 00:05:59
truly these are huge money makers people
  • 00:06:02
love doing big Ginger reveals and so
  • 00:06:04
they a lot of times will buy shirts for
  • 00:06:06
every single person in attendance so
  • 00:06:08
this can be a huge Money Maker now again
  • 00:06:10
I wouldn't copy this exactly but you can
  • 00:06:12
make your own variation of something
  • 00:06:14
like this but this just shows you that
  • 00:06:15
these types of designs are trending now
  • 00:06:18
the other way that is really easy to
  • 00:06:20
find great niches especially if you are
  • 00:06:23
trying to Target something on social
  • 00:06:25
media and maybe have a niche that has a
  • 00:06:28
bit of a following that you could really
  • 00:06:30
count on making some sales in and that
  • 00:06:32
is by using my cross niching guide book
  • 00:06:35
now if you've never downloaded this
  • 00:06:37
before I actually have it linked Down
  • 00:06:39
Below in the description along with a
  • 00:06:41
free Workshop that just kind of takes
  • 00:06:43
you through exactly how to use this but
  • 00:06:45
one way that I like to use it is in
  • 00:06:47
finding some really good Niche ideas
  • 00:06:49
particularly in the area of hobbies or
  • 00:06:52
careers so I'm going to scroll down to
  • 00:06:55
that section so we have careers right
  • 00:06:57
here now there are some careers that are
  • 00:06:59
Maybe just going to be a little bit too
  • 00:07:01
    competitive so like previously I
  • 00:07:02
mentioned teachers that just has so many
  • 00:07:05
people going after it same thing with
  • 00:07:07
something like a nurse there are so many
  • 00:07:09
nurse designs that do really well on a
  • 00:07:11
place like Etsy but it's super
  • 00:07:12
competitive so it's kind of hard to
  • 00:07:14
compete with that type of career but
  • 00:07:17
there are tons of other careers that are
  • 00:07:19
kind of untapped gold mines because
  • 00:07:22
they're just maybe not one of the
  • 00:07:23
biggest 10 careers but people still
  • 00:07:25
really want to represent what they do
  • 00:07:27
for work people want to give gifts to
  • 00:07:29
people with these careers and jobs so
  • 00:07:31
they can be great ones so something like
  • 00:07:34
this could be something like a
  • 00:07:35
    veterinary technician or a respiratory
  • 00:07:38
therapist maybe a auto mechanic or a bus
  • 00:07:41
driver those are all great ones but the
  • 00:07:43
one that kind of caught my eye that I
  • 00:07:45
think could be really good for what we
  • 00:07:47
are doing today is a pharmacy technician
  • 00:07:50
or a pharmacist so I think I'm going to
  • 00:07:52
go with actually a pharmacist because
  • 00:07:55
they are in the medical field similar to
  • 00:07:57
nurses but they don't always get the
  • 00:07:58
same amount of attention that someone
  • 00:08:00
like a nurse would get but I think that
  • 00:08:02
they still would love similar really
  • 00:08:04
cute designs that kind of represent what
  • 00:08:06
they do so we are going to actually make
  • 00:08:09
a really easy quick design for a
  • 00:08:11
pharmacist so when it comes to making
  • 00:08:14
print on demand designs you are going to
  • 00:08:16
need some kind of design Suite now there
  • 00:08:19
are a number of them out there but
  • 00:08:21
definitely my favorite and you guys if
  • 00:08:23
you've watched any of my other videos
  • 00:08:25
probably know who I'm going to talk
  • 00:08:26
about but that is KD and what I really
  • 00:08:28
    love about K is they're a super
  • 00:08:31
    versatile design platform but they're
  • 00:08:33
    really optimized specifically for print
  • 00:08:35
on demand sellers so that means they
  • 00:08:37
have a lot of tools that other places
  • 00:08:39
don't and they have a library of
  • 00:08:41
    thousands of different templates that
  • 00:08:43
are basically kind of plug inpl so you
  • 00:08:45
can just change out the words and the
  • 00:08:46
templates maybe change a few colors and
  • 00:08:48
then you have a ready to use design that
  • 00:08:50
just took a couple minutes to make so
  • 00:08:52
we're actually going to try and use one
  • 00:08:54
of their templates today now because
  • 00:08:57
pharmacist is a little bit more of a
  • 00:08:58
niche profession session I don't think
  • 00:09:00
that they're necessarily going to have
  • 00:09:01
any t-shirt templates for a pharmacist
  • 00:09:04
specifically but I think that we could
  • 00:09:07
take one for maybe something like a
  • 00:09:08
nurse or a doctor and just tweak a few
  • 00:09:11
things to make it more specific to a
  • 00:09:13
pharmacist so I'm going to go ahead and
  • 00:09:14
look up nurse and see what kind of
  • 00:09:17
templates we come up with so there's
  • 00:09:19
some really cute ones and if you are
  • 00:09:20
ever making nurse designs this is kind
  • 00:09:22
of the go-to place but let's see here
  • 00:09:25
    I'm thinking I want a phrase with a
  • 00:09:27
little bit more text so something like
  • 00:09:28
this could work work really well so I'm
  • 00:09:30
going to go ahead and click on this one
  • 00:09:32
now I'm going to go ahead and change
  • 00:09:34
this something just so I know what it is
  • 00:09:36
now a lot of times when I have kind of a
  • 00:09:38
niche that I'm going after so in this
  • 00:09:40
    case it's a pharmacist sometimes I'll do
  • 00:09:42
some preliminary searches to see if
  • 00:09:44
there's any trending phrases or ideas
  • 00:09:46
that I can get from what's selling well
  • 00:09:48
on Amazon or Etsy and for something like
  • 00:09:50
this I would even take a look at some of
  • 00:09:52
the phrases that are trending for nurses
  • 00:09:54
and doctors and see if I can kind of
  • 00:09:56
tweak that to work well for a pharmacist
  • 00:09:59
so I saw one that is trending that said
  • 00:10:01
something like I can't fix stupid but I
  • 00:10:04
can medicate it now anything that is
  • 00:10:06
really snarky or like sassy does super
  • 00:10:09
well for print on demand I don't really
  • 00:10:11
know why except maybe people like to
  • 00:10:12
give funny gifts so I think I'm going to
  • 00:10:14
do something like that for this
  • 00:10:16
pharmacist design so before we go ahead
  • 00:10:18
and just change the text out here I'm
  • 00:10:20
actually going to get rid of some of
  • 00:10:22
these elements so I am just going to
  • 00:10:24
right click on this and ungroup
  • 00:10:26
everything same with these Hearts here
  • 00:10:28
I'm going to ungroup them them and I'm
  • 00:10:29
going to get rid of this hat here now
  • 00:10:31
some of the other stuff we can kind of
  • 00:10:33
leave because it could work for a
  • 00:10:35
pharmacist as well maybe I'll get rid of
  • 00:10:37
this Band-Aid too but I'm going to
  • 00:10:39
definitely get rid of that hat and we'll
  • 00:10:40
at the end add in some more elements
  • 00:10:42
that make it so this definitely looks
  • 00:10:44
like a phist shirt not just a nurse one
  • 00:10:47
so all I'm going to do is I'm just going
  • 00:10:49
to start changing out the text here so
  • 00:10:52
    this I'll say I can't fix so let's do
  • 00:10:55
that here I can't fix and then that is
  • 00:10:58
just a little bit too long so I'm going
  • 00:10:59
to go ahead and highlight it and then
  • 00:11:01
change the size to 50 here and then we
  • 00:11:04
can go ahead and resize that and all of
  • 00:11:06
this we are going to kind of edit the
  • 00:11:08
font and the layout once we get
  • 00:11:10
everything filled in here but the first
  • 00:11:12
thing I'm going to do is just change all
  • 00:11:14
the lettering so we know what we're
  • 00:11:15
working with so this is going to stay
  • 00:11:17
stupid and then this I want it to say
  • 00:11:20
but I can and then this to say medicate
  • 00:11:23
and we'll make that a little bit longer
  • 00:11:24
it's just a bit too long there I'm going
  • 00:11:27
to move these hearts and then I think I
  • 00:11:29
want it to be in this same kind of font
  • 00:11:32
here so I'm just going to go ahead and
  • 00:11:33
copy this text box and then I'm going to
  • 00:11:36
go ahead and paste it and we'll just
  • 00:11:37
have this say it so now that we have
  • 00:11:39
kind of all of our text there we can
  • 00:11:41
start kind of playing around with the
  • 00:11:43
placement now I think the first thing I
  • 00:11:45
want to do is this I can't fix I want it
  • 00:11:47
to also be that cute pink color too just
  • 00:11:50
so it is a little bit more cohesive and
  • 00:11:52
then for the transformation it's kind of
  • 00:11:55
distorted curved up right now but I can
  • 00:11:58
go ahead and click click this custom
  • 00:12:00
distort again and I could even kind of
  • 00:12:02
bring this down here just kind of play
  • 00:12:04
around with that until we're happy with
  • 00:12:06
it now you could do something else you
  • 00:12:07
don't have to do exactly that but that's
  • 00:12:09
just one way you can distort stuff and
  • 00:12:11
then same thing with this buty can right
  • 00:12:13
here I think I'm going to do kind of a
  • 00:12:15
custom distort again here but kind of
  • 00:12:18
change that all right so it's already
  • 00:12:20
looking pretty good but what I want to
  • 00:12:22
do is definitely add some elements that
  • 00:12:24
are like specific to pharmacists so I'm
  • 00:12:27
going to go over here and I'm just going
  • 00:12:28
to look up medicine so we could do
  • 00:12:30
something like that ooh I actually I
  • 00:12:32
really like this one here and don't
  • 00:12:34
worry that it's green we're going to
  • 00:12:35
change it to make sure everything looks
  • 00:12:37
cohesive this right here and I can even
  • 00:12:39
move like these Hearts around if I don't
  • 00:12:41
want that in the way and one way you can
  • 00:12:43
make things always look cohesive is just
  • 00:12:45
by changing this to the same color that
  • 00:12:48
helps a ton let's see I kind of like
  • 00:12:50
this one that's like spilling out as
  • 00:12:52
well where could we put that maybe down
  • 00:12:54
here by the it if we move this a bit
  • 00:12:57
that here again change it to the brown
  • 00:12:59
color let's see oh I kind of like this
  • 00:13:01
one where it's like a pill kind of
  • 00:13:03
opening up so let's make that smaller
  • 00:13:06
and then maybe put it right here by the
  • 00:13:07
M I think that looks really cute and
  • 00:13:09
then I'm just going to adjust everything
  • 00:13:11
until I'm really happy with how it looks
  • 00:13:13
so that's looking pretty good so what
  • 00:13:15
I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead
  • 00:13:16
and just download this now it's really
  • 00:13:18
easy to download things on KD I'm just
  • 00:13:20
going to click download here we want it
  • 00:13:22
to be a PNG but we don't want the units
  • 00:13:24
to be in inches we want that to be
  • 00:13:26
pixels and then I like to make sure my
  • 00:13:28
design designs are at least 4500 pixels
  • 00:13:31
wide and at least like 5,000 pixels tall
  • 00:13:34
so this is going to work really well and
  • 00:13:36
it doesn't exactly matter if your pixels
  • 00:13:38
are right but you can also go ahead and
  • 00:13:40
change that to 300 DPI but as long as
  • 00:13:43
your pixels are good that is going to
  • 00:13:44
work for a print on demand design and
  • 00:13:46
then we're just going to go ahead and
  • 00:13:47
remove the background and download that
  • 00:13:50
to our computer all right so now the
  • 00:13:52
next thing we are going to do is we are
  • 00:13:54
going back over to printify to that
  • 00:13:57
shirt that we initially picked out now
  • 00:13:59
if you had picked a different product
  • 00:14:00
type it would work the exact same way
  • 00:14:03
you'd just be uploading it to something
  • 00:14:04
other than a shirt now before we
  • 00:14:06
actually upload the design we need to
  • 00:14:08
pick which manufacturing partner we want
  • 00:14:10
to use so if you just click Start
  • 00:14:12
designing it's going to default to the
  • 00:14:14
pry Choice which typically is a really
  • 00:14:17
good option but I like to sometimes pick
  • 00:14:19
my provider now the one I really like
  • 00:14:21
using is going to be swift pod just cuz
  • 00:14:24
they have so many colors look at that
  • 00:14:26
and then they have really low starting
  • 00:14:29
cost for a lot of their items so it just
  • 00:14:31
makes sure that you can make enough
  • 00:14:33
profit when you actually do end up
  • 00:14:34
selling this on a place like Etsy so I'm
  • 00:14:36
just going to click Start designing and
  • 00:14:38
now the first thing that I want to do is
  • 00:14:40
kind of change the color I really love
  • 00:14:42
that pink and it's going to help us
  • 00:14:43
stand out a little bit there's tons of
  • 00:14:45
black and white t-shirts out there but
  • 00:14:47
anytime you have a design that's really
  • 00:14:49
optimized for a certain color that
  • 00:14:50
sometimes can help it really stand out
  • 00:14:52
so this just classic pink one is what
  • 00:14:55
I'm going for and I'm not even going to
  • 00:14:57
sell that on white I think just the pink
  • 00:14:59
looks the best but you definitely can
  • 00:15:01
add more colors if you want as well and
  • 00:15:03
then I'm going to go ahead and upload
  • 00:15:05
that new design so I'm just going to go
  • 00:15:07
ahead and drag and drop that file here
  • 00:15:09
and you can also add it from your
  • 00:15:10
computer as well now I typically like to
  • 00:15:13
make sure to take up as much space as
  • 00:15:16
possible on the design so I'm going to
  • 00:15:18
stretch this out until it really fills
  • 00:15:20
up most of this canvas so that's looking
  • 00:15:23
really good and then we can go ahead and
  • 00:15:25
preview it and just make sure that
  • 00:15:26
everything is looking nice on here so
  • 00:15:29
that looks really cute let's go back
  • 00:15:31
over to edit and then we're going to
  • 00:15:32
click save product now this is where we
  • 00:15:35
start to make some initial edits to our
  • 00:15:37
listing now because this is already
  • 00:15:39
integrated to my Etsy account it's going
  • 00:15:41
to be making all these changes over on
  • 00:15:43
Etsy as well so we're going to do some
  • 00:15:45
initial editing here but then we're
  • 00:15:47
going to go over to our Etsy account and
  • 00:15:49
actually do some other adjustments there
  • 00:15:51
now I'm going to make my own mockups and
  • 00:15:53
I'll show you exactly how to do that in
  • 00:15:55
just a second so I'm going to go ahead
  • 00:15:57
and just get rid of all these other
  • 00:15:59
mockup views and just have kind of the
  • 00:16:01
one standard one I like to keep that so
  • 00:16:03
people can get a really good idea of the
  • 00:16:05
exact shade that this is going to be and
  • 00:16:07
the exact placement and then just so I
  • 00:16:09
know exactly what design this is I'm
  • 00:16:11
going to change part of the title and
  • 00:16:13
we're going to edit this a little bit
  • 00:16:15
more later I'm going to show you some of
  • 00:16:16
the things that I like to include in the
  • 00:16:18
title but I'm just going to go ahead and
  • 00:16:20
type in what I initially have on this
  • 00:16:22
design all right and then the
  • 00:16:23
description is autof filled in with a
  • 00:16:25
lot of the information about this
  • 00:16:27
product now when we go over to Etsy we
  • 00:16:30
are going to add more to the description
  • 00:16:32
that's going to help with our SEO but I
  • 00:16:34
always like to keep this part of the
  • 00:16:36
description kind of at the bottom
  • 00:16:38
because it gives a lot of information
  • 00:16:39
about the product itself so never get
  • 00:16:42
rid of that now I'm going to go over to
  • 00:16:44
the pricing section and this is the next
  • 00:16:46
thing that I am going to edit so I'm
  • 00:16:48
going to select all click edit the price
  • 00:16:50
and I'm just going to go ahead and
  • 00:16:52
change it to $24.99 now you always want
  • 00:16:55
to make sure you're calculating your
  • 00:16:56
prices so that you're making enough
  • 00:16:58
profit and typically I will change the
  • 00:17:00
price on these items that are bigger
  • 00:17:02
sizes just cuz they are a little bit
  • 00:17:04
more costly so I might change that to
  • 00:17:06
something like 26.99 later all right and
  • 00:17:08
then we're just going to go ahead and
  • 00:17:10
push publish all right now that we push
  • 00:17:12
publish we can see that over here on our
  • 00:17:14
printify account and once it's green and
  • 00:17:17
says published here that means it is all
  • 00:17:19
ready to be edited on Etsy so I'm going
  • 00:17:22
to head over to my linked Etsy account
  • 00:17:24
all right so we can see that right here
  • 00:17:26
in my active listings now what I'm going
  • 00:17:28
to to do is I'm going to click this gear
  • 00:17:30
icon and just click edit now before we
  • 00:17:33
worry about the title The keywords all
  • 00:17:36
that SEO one of the most important
  • 00:17:38
things that we always need to be
  • 00:17:39
thinking about is the mockup photo now
  • 00:17:42
most of the time when people look up an
  • 00:17:44
item that they are thinking about buying
  • 00:17:45
so if someone looked up shirt for
  • 00:17:47
pharmacist gift they are not reading the
  • 00:17:49
title they're not clicking on it and
  • 00:17:51
    reading the description they don't
  • 00:17:52
really care about the tags all they are
  • 00:17:54
caring about is the first little photo
  • 00:17:57
that is going to show up on on the page
  • 00:17:59
when they're scrolling and usually that
  • 00:18:01
is pretty tiny so that is really
  • 00:18:03
valuable real estate and we want to make
  • 00:18:05
the best first impression because if our
  • 00:18:07
initial kind of photo doesn't look very
  • 00:18:09
good we are probably not going to get
  • 00:18:11
that click so that means we're not going
  • 00:18:13
to get people to actually make a sale so
  • 00:18:15
if you really take nothing else from
  • 00:18:17
this video one of the things you should
  • 00:18:19
take from it is that you should be
  • 00:18:21
spending a decent amount of time and
  • 00:18:22
effort putting together mockups now it
  • 00:18:24
doesn't really have to be tricky and I'm
  • 00:18:26
going to show you the place that I get
  • 00:18:27
pretty much all of my mock UPS so I'm
  • 00:18:29
going to head over there right now now I
  • 00:18:31
have a account on place it which if
  • 00:18:33
you've never heard of place it before
  • 00:18:35
they do a lot more than just mockups you
  • 00:18:37
can actually make designs here you can
  • 00:18:39
make video mockups you can make logos
  • 00:18:41
all sorts of different things you can do
  • 00:18:43
but what I really like is their mockups
  • 00:18:46
so I'm going to go over here to the
  • 00:18:47
apparel and then t-shirt mockups and
  • 00:18:50
then a lot of times what I like to do is
  • 00:18:52
I'm going to store by just a woman
  • 00:18:54
    because this shirt I'm definitely
  • 00:18:55
designing it more for a woman and then a
  • 00:18:57
lot of times I like to sort by popular
  • 00:19:00
because these are just the mockups that
  • 00:19:02
look really good so let's see here I
  • 00:19:04
think I'm going to make a couple
  • 00:19:05
different mockups for this so I think
  • 00:19:07
the first one I'm going to do is Pur
  • 00:19:09
right here and then I'm going to click
  • 00:19:11
design and then if you already have used
  • 00:19:13
it before you can click recently
  • 00:19:14
uploaded or just upload from your device
  • 00:19:16
so I'm going to go here in my recently
  • 00:19:18
uploaded and then click on that design
  • 00:19:21
now right here we can kind of see a live
  • 00:19:22
preview so I'm just going to adjust this
  • 00:19:25
until I'm happy with how it looks make
  • 00:19:27
it a little bit smaller small all right
  • 00:19:29
so that is looking good we're going to
  • 00:19:30
go ahead and crop it and now the next
  • 00:19:32
thing we're going to do is change that
  • 00:19:34
shirt color so I'm going to change it to
  • 00:19:35
the pink that looks really similar to
  • 00:19:37
that one on printify and once we're
  • 00:19:39
happy with it we're going to go ahead
  • 00:19:41
and click download now once it's ready
  • 00:19:43
we can go ahead and click to download
  • 00:19:45
the image as it is so I'm going to do
  • 00:19:47
that because later on when we are making
  • 00:19:49
some social media images we are going to
  • 00:19:51
use ones that are more landscape like
  • 00:19:53
this but for Etsy you're going to want
  • 00:19:55
to actually crop it so I'm going to
  • 00:19:57
click this crop icon right here all
  • 00:19:59
right so now we're over here on the
  • 00:20:00
image Cropper and all we're going to do
  • 00:20:02
is adjust the size so it's optimized for
  • 00:20:05
an Etsy thumbnail so that's going to be
  • 00:20:07
2700 pixels by 2025 and then I'm just
  • 00:20:11
going to zoom in on this until it fills
  • 00:20:14
up most of this image now one thing that
  • 00:20:16
a lot of people don't know when they
  • 00:20:17
first get started is they always try to
  • 00:20:19
show the model's face but I have found
  • 00:20:21
in most other top print on demand
  • 00:20:23
sellers also know that you don't really
  • 00:20:25
need to show the face of the model it's
  • 00:20:27
all about the actual product so once
  • 00:20:30
that looks good I'm going to go ahead
  • 00:20:31
and download it and then I'm going to go
  • 00:20:32
back over to the mockups and we're just
  • 00:20:34
going to make one more mockup that we
  • 00:20:35
can use later for social media as well
  • 00:20:38
all right I really like her too so I'm
  • 00:20:40
going to go ahead and click on her and
  • 00:20:41
just put the exact same image on there
  • 00:20:44
so since I just used it it's actually
  • 00:20:46
going to default to that same design so
  • 00:20:49
all I have to do is change the color to
  • 00:20:51
that pink and then download this I'm
  • 00:20:54
going to click here to download now
  • 00:20:56
we're going to head back over to our
  • 00:20:58
account so we can start editing that
  • 00:21:00
listing now all we're going to do is
  • 00:21:02
click here to add photos so I'm going to
  • 00:21:04
go ahead and add that new mockup photo
  • 00:21:07
that I created all right so that is
  • 00:21:09
uploaded and I'm just going to make that
  • 00:21:10
the primary image and then keep this one
  • 00:21:12
as the second image now if you had
  • 00:21:14
multiple different colors you could keep
  • 00:21:16
all of those here as well but for this
  • 00:21:18
video I'm just doing that initial one
  • 00:21:20
and really the first photo is the most
  • 00:21:22
important it's what people are going to
  • 00:21:24
see so if you're going to put effort in
  • 00:21:26
make sure it's that first photo and you
  • 00:21:28
can kind of put a little bit less effort
  • 00:21:30
into those other ones for the listing
  • 00:21:32
now let's go ahead and start working on
  • 00:21:34
our SEO for this so what I'm going to do
  • 00:21:37
is think about things that people might
  • 00:21:38
be searching when they are looking for a
  • 00:21:41
gift or a shirt for a pharmacist so the
  • 00:21:43
first one besides just the title here is
  • 00:21:46
I might put some funny gift for
  • 00:21:49
pharmacist and then I like to have the
  • 00:21:51
text that's actually on the design there
  • 00:21:54
but then I think of other things so like
  • 00:21:56
we could do Pharmacy mom and and then
  • 00:21:58
    like female pharmacy technician birthday
  • 00:22:03
gift and then this shirt could also work
  • 00:22:05
for maybe a nurse or like a Medtech or
  • 00:22:08
something too so I might actually if I
  • 00:22:10
have some room put some things that
  • 00:22:11
could work for that as well even though
  • 00:22:13
    we're initially targeting pharmacists so
  • 00:22:15
I could do for Medtech nurse all right
  • 00:22:18
so we used about just all of our
  • 00:22:20
characters which I highly suggest you do
  • 00:22:22
don't just use those first few this is
  • 00:22:24
really valuable real estate and then I'm
  • 00:22:26
going to go down to the description and
  • 00:22:27
like I said I'm I'm going to keep all
  • 00:22:29
this here but I'm going to put about two
  • 00:22:30
sentences that have to do with the niche
  • 00:22:33
or the SEO that I'm trying to Target so
  • 00:22:35
I said the best gift for pharmacist mom
  • 00:22:37
grandma Aunt sister kind of trying to
  • 00:22:39
think of those words that someone might
  • 00:22:41
search for and then I'm going to put
  • 00:22:43
actually what it says on the shirt all
  • 00:22:44
right and once I'm happy with that we
  • 00:22:46
are going to go down here now I already
  • 00:22:48
adjusted the pricing on printify and
  • 00:22:51
then we can add some tags here now
  • 00:22:53
typically I like to just add the
  • 00:22:55
keywords that I think people are most
  • 00:22:57
searching for for something like this so
  • 00:22:58
we could do something like Pharmacy
  • 00:23:01
    shirt and female
  • 00:23:04
pharmacis and pharmacy tech so I'm going
  • 00:23:07
to add those and you are definitely
  • 00:23:09
going to want to use all 13 but for the
  • 00:23:11
sake of this video I'm just going to do
  • 00:23:12
those first three now it's going to
  • 00:23:14
default your shipping right here but if
  • 00:23:16
you do want to offer free shipping or a
  • 00:23:18
different price for your shipping you
  • 00:23:19
could edit that right here and then I
  • 00:23:21
make sure to have my policy as no
  • 00:23:24
returns or exchanges and then if you are
  • 00:23:26
doing Etsy ads you can enroll it here
  • 00:23:29
but if you don't want to you would turn
  • 00:23:30
that off and if you wanted to feature at
  • 00:23:32
the top of your shop you would just
  • 00:23:33
click that here now for the renewal
  • 00:23:35
options neither one is really a bad
  • 00:23:37
choice you can do automatic renewal or
  • 00:23:39
manual but a lot of times I'm going to
  • 00:23:41
put manual renewal because if this
  • 00:23:43
hasn't sold in a few months I kind of
  • 00:23:45
want to evaluate that and see maybe what
  • 00:23:47
changes I could make before I pay to
  • 00:23:49
actually list it again so once all those
  • 00:23:51
settings are done we have our mockup
  • 00:23:53
photo we changed our title our
  • 00:23:54
description tags we're going to publish
  • 00:23:56
those changes all right so now we can
  • 00:23:58
see that it changed our photo right here
  • 00:24:01
and that is looking perfect so now
  • 00:24:03
people can find that when they search
  • 00:24:05
things on Etsy but we're not done I'm
  • 00:24:07
actually going to show you one more
  • 00:24:08
thing that can help really Drive traffic
  • 00:24:11
to any of your listings especially when
  • 00:24:13
you are making new ones and that is by
  • 00:24:14
using social media now I have an entire
  • 00:24:17
video about my process to get a lot of
  • 00:24:20
    traffic through the social media
  • 00:24:21
platform at Instagram so I will link
  • 00:24:24
that right here and that's going to show
  • 00:24:25
you more of the logistics of how to kind
  • 00:24:27
of set up an Instagram account if you do
  • 00:24:30
want to use this strategy but the thing
  • 00:24:32
that you need to think about when you
  • 00:24:34
are maybe wanting to use social media to
  • 00:24:36
promote some of your listings is
  • 00:24:38
thinking about the audience that you're
  • 00:24:40
targeting so I really don't suggest
  • 00:24:42
having just a Facebook page or an
  • 00:24:45
Instagram account that's just a generic
  • 00:24:47
print on demand store I think it's
  • 00:24:49
really valuable if you can pinpoint an
  • 00:24:52
audience and make a really Niche
  • 00:24:54
specific Instagram page or Facebook page
  • 00:24:56
just for them so like for this product
  • 00:24:59
if I had a page that was all just for
  • 00:25:01
    pharmacists or even more specifically
  • 00:25:03
female pharmacists then that is going to
  • 00:25:06
get a lot more engagement people are
  • 00:25:07
actually going to be interested in
  • 00:25:09
following it because it's not just a
  • 00:25:11
random hodgepodge of a bunch of
  • 00:25:12
different niches so I am going to be
  • 00:25:15
making some social media posts that
  • 00:25:17
would be optimized for an account that
  • 00:25:19
is really tailored to just pharmacists
  • 00:25:22
so I'm actually going to head back over
  • 00:25:24
to KD and show you how I would do this
  • 00:25:27
all right so KD actually has has a bunch
  • 00:25:29
of really cool social posts already made
  • 00:25:31
but one thing that is really cool is
  • 00:25:33
they just introduced kind of a multiple
  • 00:25:37
artboard feature that you can work on a
  • 00:25:39
bunch of different similar things all at
  • 00:25:41
the same time in fact I have a recent
  • 00:25:43
video where I show how to do this for
  • 00:25:45
multiple designs at once but you can use
  • 00:25:47
this for multiple social media posts as
  • 00:25:49
well so I think I'm going to use this
  • 00:25:51
kind of Instagram template for the posts
  • 00:25:54
I'm going to make for this pharmacist
  • 00:25:56
new design that I created so you really
  • 00:25:59
don't have to use all of them I think
  • 00:26:00
that I'm going to use kind of the story
  • 00:26:02
template and then the portrait photo for
  • 00:26:05
my Instagram so the first thing I'm
  • 00:26:07
going to do is I'm just going to go
  • 00:26:09
ahead and upload those two mockup photos
  • 00:26:11
that we created so I'm just going to go
  • 00:26:13
over here to uploads and then click
  • 00:26:15
upload right here all right so those are
  • 00:26:16
now uploaded I'm just going to get rid
  • 00:26:18
of those photos right there and then I
  • 00:26:20
am going to drag and drop these new ones
  • 00:26:23
that we created here I'm going to make
  • 00:26:24
it a similar size and do the same thing
  • 00:26:26
for this one all right and I want to use
  • 00:26:29
some of the colors that are in this for
  • 00:26:31
this design here so I think I'm going to
  • 00:26:33
do the background kind of this dark pink
  • 00:26:36
color so I'll zoom in here so you can
  • 00:26:37
see that a little better so I'm going to
  • 00:26:39
click this background I'm going to go to
  • 00:26:41
the layers and then go to right here
  • 00:26:43
where it says Instagram portrait and for
  • 00:26:45
the new drop I'm going to do the text
  • 00:26:48
this pink color here and then this one I
  • 00:26:50
am going to go ahead and change that to
  • 00:26:52
that light pink color and then same with
  • 00:26:55
all of this I'm going to change that to
  • 00:26:56
that light pink color All In at once and
  • 00:26:59
I don't really love this font that says
  • 00:27:01
dropping August here so I'm going to
  • 00:27:02
change that to something else I think
  • 00:27:04
something maybe more bubbly would be
  • 00:27:06
really cute okay that's looking good
  • 00:27:08
here so I'm just going to go ahead and
  • 00:27:10
stretch that out a little bit and then
  • 00:27:12
make it smaller and then right here is
  • 00:27:14
where I would probably put my name so
  • 00:27:17
for example this would be like cute
  • 00:27:18
Pharmacy gifts and then I'm going to get
  • 00:27:20
rid of these okay so that is looking
  • 00:27:22
cute and then I'm going to do the exact
  • 00:27:24
same thing here for this story one I'm
  • 00:27:27
going to get rid of those change this to
  • 00:27:28
that same font color so it looks
  • 00:27:30
cohesive I'm going to change this text
  • 00:27:32
color and maybe I'll do a different kind
  • 00:27:34
of text for the story like let's try
  • 00:27:37
this one it looks cute and change the
  • 00:27:39
color of all this and I might even get
  • 00:27:41
rid of some of this extra stuff for my
  • 00:27:43
story and just have this down here but
  • 00:27:46
I'm going to go ahead and add these
  • 00:27:47
photos but I'm going to actually crop
  • 00:27:50
them more like the size of the thumbnail
  • 00:27:52
we created so that looks good and I'm
  • 00:27:54
going to do the exact same thing with
  • 00:27:56
this one here just go ahead and crop bit
  • 00:27:58
right around the same area and then
  • 00:28:00
stretch that out this one I might need
  • 00:28:02
to crop a little bit more all right that
  • 00:28:04
is looking good now all we have to do to
  • 00:28:06
actually download these is we're going
  • 00:28:08
to go down to the downloads and then you
  • 00:28:10
can download all the artboards at the
  • 00:28:12
same time but I'm only going to download
  • 00:28:14
those two right there and click download
  • 00:28:17
and then now those would be actually
  • 00:28:18
ready to use on your Instagram account
  • 00:28:21
on your Facebook if you ever have wanted
  • 00:28:23
to try running ads this is a perfect
  • 00:28:25
template to kind of create an ad and no
  • 00:28:27
just kind of what things people are
  • 00:28:29
including on this even if you created
  • 00:28:31
something you're on your own looking at
  • 00:28:33
these templates just kind of gives you
  • 00:28:34
an idea of what other people are putting
  • 00:28:36
on similar stories on similar posts on
  • 00:28:39
similar ads now I hope that helped you
  • 00:28:41
guys know exactly how you can come up
  • 00:28:44
with a niche idea actually create a
  • 00:28:46
