- 00:00:11money to leave their job. They want to
- 00:00:13have full control over how they spend
- 00:00:15their time. They silently want to prove
- 00:00:17themselves to their friends and family.
- 00:00:19But what about your life's work or your
- 00:00:22purpose or just general enjoyment? Those
- 00:00:25things seem to come last. They're the
- 00:00:27last things people think about because
- 00:00:29when you don't have money, the only
- 00:00:31thing you want to do is make money.
- 00:00:33That's logical. It shouldn't be any
- 00:00:35other way. That's actually how it's
- 00:00:36supposed to happen. You're supposed to
- 00:00:38learn how to make money first and
- 00:00:40fulfill your basic needs until you can
- 00:00:42transcend to your actualization needs.
- 00:00:45So that's the problem is beginners
- 00:00:47blindness. Most people who start a
- 00:00:49business don't know how to start a
- 00:00:52business obviously. So they start
- 00:00:54searching blindly for businesses to
- 00:00:56start rather than deeply considering how
- 00:00:58they want to live and engineering a path
- 00:01:00to get there. They start their business
- 00:01:02journey with the same mind that was
- 00:01:04useful for going to school and getting a
- 00:01:06job. So they start looking for a new job
- 00:01:10while learning like they were in school.
- 00:01:12They study how to freelance. They study
- 00:01:14how to start a social media marketing
- 00:01:16agency. They study how to build an
- 00:01:18e-commerce store and run paid ads. They
- 00:01:20build themselves into a new 9-to-five
- 00:01:22and once again feel like they are
- 00:01:23strapped for cash and out of control of
- 00:01:25their day. But this time it's worse
- 00:01:28because if they lose a client or stop
- 00:01:30working 12 hours a day, their income
- 00:01:32drops significantly. They have no
- 00:01:33leverage. They feel trapped. So in this
- 00:01:36video, I'm not going to give you a
- 00:01:37static business model that you can go
- 00:01:39and watch any other YouTube channel to
- 00:01:40learn. Instead, I'm going to give you a
- 00:01:43flexible road map that allows you to
- 00:01:45both discover and create your life's
- 00:01:47work. business at that point just
- 00:01:50becomes a vessel for doing what you
- 00:01:52enjoy doing and finding the people that
- 00:01:55want to support that thing by paying
- 00:01:58you. So, let's talk about this new way
- 00:02:01to start a business. The good with the
- 00:02:04internet and social media, business has
- 00:02:06drastically changed for the better.
- 00:02:07There's more power to solopreneurs and
- 00:02:09small teams that will only get more
- 00:02:11powerful beyond the internet and social
- 00:02:12media. The bad. Almost any beginner
- 00:02:15business information you find is still
- 00:02:16plagued with the old business paradigm.
- 00:02:18The old way of doing things is to choose
- 00:02:21a niche, choose a customer avatar,
- 00:02:23choose a skill, choose a business model.
- 00:02:2595% of the time, people choose the thing
- 00:02:27that someone else tells them is the most
- 00:02:29profitable. As a byproduct, they choose
- 00:02:32a niche they have zero experience with,
- 00:02:34work with people they don't care about,
- 00:02:35learn a skill that doesn't align with
- 00:02:37their interests, and pick a business
- 00:02:38model that sounds the flashiest or
- 00:02:40easiest. Now, there's nothing wrong with
- 00:02:43wanting to make money, but it's
- 00:02:44completely idiotic to think that you
- 00:02:46can't make money without sacrificing
- 00:02:49everything that's good in life. What
- 00:02:51makes life good, investing attention in
- 00:02:53what you deem important and meaningful.
- 00:02:55The thing here is is what you deem
- 00:02:58important and meaningful evolves as you
- 00:03:00develop yourself. So if you pick a
- 00:03:02business model that always stays the
- 00:03:04same and when you change and that
- 00:03:07business model can't change with you,
- 00:03:09you set yourself up for a life of
- 00:03:10misery. In the old way of doing business
- 00:03:13where money is placed as the first and
- 00:03:15only reason you invest attention in
- 00:03:17people, projects and skills that other
- 00:03:19people persuade you to believe are
- 00:03:22important. In other words, you're not
- 00:03:23making any of your own choices. You're
- 00:03:26just doing what people tell you to do
- 00:03:27like you have been at school and in your
- 00:03:29job. The new way of doing business is to
- 00:03:32put your ideal life as the first reason
- 00:03:35but not the only reason. In this new
- 00:03:38way, you don't choose a niche or skill
- 00:03:40or model. You become the niche. You help
- 00:03:43your past self. You solve your own
- 00:03:45problems and you follow the highest
- 00:03:47leverage path which involves changing
- 00:03:49business models as you progress. You
- 00:03:52don't need this work life balance thing
- 00:03:54because work and life collapse into one.
- 00:03:57You get paid for being yourself and
- 00:03:59developing yourself. That's how it
- 00:04:00should have been in the first place.
- 00:04:02Getting paid for the value that only you
- 00:04:05can cultivate. Now, when you realize
- 00:04:06that this has always been an option and
- 00:04:08that you were drawn to schools and jobs
- 00:04:10based on how your mind was conditioned
- 00:04:12to adopt the values based on your past
- 00:04:14life conditions, you can't unsee it. So,
- 00:04:17you're welcome for that. Enjoy the ride.
- 00:04:19Now, with all of that, this path, this
- 00:04:21new way of doing things is only for
- 00:04:23those that actually value improving
- 00:04:26themselves, developing themselves. I'm
- 00:04:28not talking about the the shallow
- 00:04:30version of self-help or self-improvement
- 00:04:32that's all over the internet. I'm just
- 00:04:33talking about getting better, improving
- 00:04:36yourself, because if you're not doing
- 00:04:37that, you're doing the opposite. And if
- 00:04:39you don't like the term self-improvement
- 00:04:41or self-help, and that causes you to
- 00:04:42just be a degenerate, you're even
- 00:04:44stupider than the self-help people. You
- 00:04:46have to value your mind, your body, your
- 00:04:49skill set, your finances, your
- 00:04:51relationships, the domains of life that
- 00:04:53you need to develop in order to live a
- 00:04:55good life. And if your way of life that
- 00:04:57you want to live is filled with laziness
- 00:04:59and mediocrity, you're not going to make
- 00:05:01it in this business model and you
- 00:05:02probably weren't going to make it in any
- 00:05:04business model that you chose to go
- 00:05:05into. Your habits have to be there
- 00:05:07first. So with that, we have this new
- 00:05:09way of going about things. But there are
- 00:05:11different ways of doing that thing.
- 00:05:13There's the high leverage route and the
- 00:05:15low leverage route. And of course, we
- 00:05:17want to go the high lever route. So, if
- 00:05:19you want to turn yourself into the
- 00:05:21business or get paid for doing what you
- 00:05:23want, you need a few things. First is a
- 00:05:25developmental progression from beginner
- 00:05:27to advance. That's what you need for
- 00:05:29learning anything. The second is a way
- 00:05:31to attract people to the value you are
- 00:05:33acquiring or cultivating. And the third
- 00:05:36is products or services that evolve as
- 00:05:38you do. with older and outdated business
- 00:05:40models or even things like e-commerce
- 00:05:43that comes with a lot of prerequisites
- 00:05:44that beginners can't deal with. You
- 00:05:46don't have money to invest in inventory.
- 00:05:49You don't have money to invest in a
- 00:05:50brick-andmortar location. You probably
- 00:05:52don't want to go into debt and take out
- 00:05:53loans to do those things. So, that's the
- 00:05:55lowleverage route. This is the high
- 00:05:57leverage route where we can do things
- 00:05:59for free thanks to technology and build
- 00:06:02something like an audience so that you
- 00:06:04can sell whatever you want under that
- 00:06:07audience. And even further, you don't
- 00:06:09have money to invest in paid ads. The
- 00:06:11first time you run paid ads, they
- 00:06:14probably won't do that well. Paid ads
- 00:06:16don't work by just creating one ad and
- 00:06:18then sending it out. You create multiple
- 00:06:20ads and you test them, refine them over
- 00:06:22time. It's a full-time job to actually
- 00:06:24do it right. And you're spending a lot
- 00:06:26of money to do that. So, if you don't
- 00:06:27have that money to test those marketing
- 00:06:30angles or other things based on whatever
- 00:06:31it is you're selling or the business
- 00:06:33that you're trying to get into, then
- 00:06:34yeah, the smartest way is building an
- 00:06:36audience, writing content on social
- 00:06:38media. Everyone, including Alex Hormosi,
- 00:06:40all of the business gurus today, you're
- 00:06:42just not listening to them when they say
- 00:06:44this is the way to do things. Social
- 00:06:46media content and building an audience
- 00:06:48is how the layman, the normal individual
- 00:06:52who has some value to offer, who's
- 00:06:54developed their mind, who has gotten
- 00:06:56into health, has gotten into nutrition,
- 00:06:58has learned a skill like programming, is
- 00:06:59good at social dynamics or
- 00:07:01relationships, or can solve a problem
- 00:07:03that other people have on social media.
- 00:07:06That's that's just what you do as a
- 00:07:09firststep starting point in this new way
- 00:07:11of doing things. The other thing with
- 00:07:13the paid ads and the e-commerce and the
- 00:07:14other businesses that are very viable
- 00:07:16but as starting points probably not the
- 00:07:19best is that you start spending before
- 00:07:21you start earning. Unless you already
- 00:07:24have an audience or have built one, then
- 00:07:27you're probably not going to start
- 00:07:29earning from that thing immediately.
- 00:07:31Now, in the new way of doing business,
- 00:07:32it's the complete opposite. You need
- 00:07:35zero experience because the business is
- 00:07:38how you gain experience in the first
- 00:07:40place. You decrease the chances of
- 00:07:42failure by lack of money or experience
- 00:07:44to zero. The only reason you would fail
- 00:07:47doing this is because you quit early,
- 00:07:49can't persist, can't iterate, or refuse
- 00:07:51to learn, or you just decide that the
- 00:07:53current life you wanted to escape in the
- 00:07:55first place isn't that bad because your
- 00:07:57mind starts playing tricks on you. So,
- 00:07:58with those limitations being you're a
- 00:08:00beginner, you have a lack of money, and
- 00:08:02you have zero experience, that gives us
- 00:08:04a few starting points. The first is
- 00:08:07again build an audience because if you
- 00:08:09don't have money, you can't throw money
- 00:08:10at ads, you can't invest in physical
- 00:08:12product inventory. And either way, I
- 00:08:15would even recommend any beginner,
- 00:08:16whatever business model you want to get
- 00:08:18into, even if it's e-commerce or an
- 00:08:19agency or whatever, just build an
- 00:08:21audience as your traffic source. That's
- 00:08:23how you land clients. That's how you
- 00:08:25make product sales is you have an actual
- 00:08:26audience. Even if you're a
- 00:08:28self-published author or you're making
- 00:08:29music, you build an audience to fuel the
- 00:08:32thing that you need to get people to in
- 00:08:35order to survive and sustain that thing.
- 00:08:37Now, why why build an audience? Because
- 00:08:40it teaches you the skills you need for
- 00:08:43free through experience to do well in
- 00:08:46any form of business. You learn
- 00:08:47marketing, you learn persuasion, you
- 00:08:49learn media, you learn writing, design,
- 00:08:51psychology, human nature, and even
- 00:08:52further, that's the modern path to
- 00:08:54talking about and teaching your
- 00:08:56interests. Not only do you learn the
- 00:08:57necessary parts of skills like
- 00:08:59marketing, but you learn about your
- 00:09:01interests faster because of the Fineman
- 00:09:03technique. With each piece of content
- 00:09:05you post, you expose gaps in your
- 00:09:07knowledge that allows you to learn the
- 00:09:09topic faster. This is what I mean by
- 00:09:10this new path is a way of life because
- 00:09:12you're bridging your learning and your
- 00:09:16self-development and your business.
- 00:09:18That's what you talk about. You share
- 00:09:19your interests and your opinions and you
- 00:09:21refine your mind. You have to learn the
- 00:09:23skills and interest in order to
- 00:09:25articulate them well. And you have to be
- 00:09:27good at the skills or interest in order
- 00:09:28to sell a good product. So, it's a
- 00:09:31forcing function. So, if you're stuck
- 00:09:33only building your portfolio page or
- 00:09:35building websites or doing the LLC or
- 00:09:37doing the logo, it's probably because
- 00:09:39you aren't that good in the first place.
- 00:09:41And the only way to change that is to
- 00:09:43build an audience so that you're forced
- 00:09:45to get good at that thing so you don't
- 00:09:46look like an idiot. Even though you will
- 00:09:48look like an idiot at first, everyone
- 00:09:50does when you're starting something new.
- 00:09:52It's embarrassing. You're scared because
- 00:09:54what you do sucks until you get it out
- 00:09:57in front of people. Jack Butcher
- 00:09:58recently said, "The best way to get
- 00:10:00feedback is a buy button." And there's
- 00:10:02so much more to that than like, "Oh
- 00:10:03yeah, if someone buys my product, then
- 00:10:05that's good feedback." No, business is
- 00:10:07this vessel for personal growth that
- 00:10:09we're going after. And on that topic, I

- 00:10:34an audience is that when you do that,
- 00:10:36you keep the audience. You can write SEO
- 00:10:39articles. You can post to Reddit to
- 00:10:41launch your startup or your product. You
- 00:10:43can do paid ads, but do you keep the
- 00:10:46audience? you actually have them there
- 00:10:48so you can remarket to them or nurture
- 00:10:51them or share your value with them. It
- 00:10:52always feels weird to say like, oh, when
- 00:10:54you market to your audience because you
- 00:10:56guys are my audience, right? What's
- 00:10:57happening here is that I hope I'm giving
- 00:11:00valuable information that makes you want
- 00:11:02to follow me. And if I have a product or
- 00:11:04service that actually benefits you, the
- 00:11:07specific individual, it may not be for
- 00:11:08all of you, but one, two, three, however
- 00:11:11many of you, and you don't have a bad
- 00:11:12relationship with money, and you don't
- 00:11:14think that spending money on anything is
- 00:11:16bad, and you actually have the choice of
- 00:11:18what you want to spend money on, then
- 00:11:19that's a good thing. I always think the
- 00:11:21metaphor or the analogy is always
- 00:11:23relevant where people are like, "Oh,
- 00:11:25you'll spend uh $100 on a night out with
- 00:11:29drinks that ruins your health." But then
- 00:11:31when it comes to investing in something
- 00:11:33like self-education that actually
- 00:11:34benefits you, you call it a scam. And
- 00:11:36it's like, what's the real scam there?
- 00:11:38It's kind of stupid. And with something
- 00:11:40like paid ads, you have to be good. You
- 00:11:42have to test, refine, get the ad very
- 00:11:45optimized, and you you're optimizing for
- 00:11:48conversion rates, for people to capture
- 00:11:50their attention, click through, buy the
- 00:11:52product. When you have an audience and
- 00:11:53you've given so much content to them
- 00:11:55over time, they trust you, they like
- 00:11:57you, they want to buy from you. You
- 00:11:59don't have to worry about getting super
- 00:12:01good at marketing or copywriting or
- 00:12:03other things because your content that
- 00:12:05you're sharing every day makes up for
- 00:12:07that. Now, if you need a starting point
- 00:12:08with like practical examples and
- 00:12:10templates, you can grab the oneperson

- 00:12:13description. You don't need it, but I
- 00:12:15know some people will like the templates
- 00:12:17and just having everything in one place.
- 00:12:18Now, the second thing after building an
- 00:12:20audience is evolving products and
- 00:12:22services. So, when your audience is
- 00:12:24small, when you're just starting out,
- 00:12:26you need to be mindful of that. You need
- 00:12:28to do some math. If you try to sell a
- 00:12:30$19 physical book or planner, you will
- 00:12:33need a lot of customers in order to
- 00:12:35replace your current income. And the
- 00:12:36same goes for building an app or
- 00:12:38software as an independent programmer
- 00:12:40and slapping a $10 to $20 a month price
- 00:12:42tag on it. That doesn't mean this path
- 00:12:43doesn't work because I actually
- 00:12:45recommend it for people who are fast
- 00:12:47learners. With the right social media
- 00:12:49strategy, your post can do very well
- 00:12:51from the start so you can pull off a low
- 00:12:53ticket product or app or software. But
- 00:12:55for most people, that's not going to
- 00:12:57happen. It's better to start with a
- 00:12:58freelance coaching or consulting
- 00:13:00service. And now many people are averse
- 00:13:02to that because there are so many
- 00:13:03freelancers and consultants and coaches.
- 00:13:06They're kind of flooding the social
- 00:13:07media space. But for those that
- 00:13:09understand business, that's not because,
- 00:13:11oh, it's saturated. It's because that's
- 00:13:13what's validated. That's what works. And
- 00:13:15if you join in on that, sure, you're
- 00:13:18going to get some criticism. But if it's
- 00:13:19something where you can actually turn
- 00:13:21your passions into a business and help
- 00:13:23other people in some kind of way, then I
- 00:13:25don't see why you wouldn't do it. simply
- 00:13:27because some people think that, oh,
- 00:13:29there's too many coaches or there's too
- 00:13:31many freelancers. Really, if you start
- 00:13:32this kind of business, you're going to
- 00:13:33have to learn how to deal with dumb
- 00:13:35people. Now, with those kinds of
- 00:13:37services, like a freelance business,
- 00:13:38coaching, etc., you only need to land
- 00:13:40two to three clients at $1 to $3,000 and
- 00:13:45then that replaces most people's salary.
- 00:13:47So, unlike a product where you're
- 00:13:49selling a $10 to $20 product, you need a
- 00:13:52lot more people to buy that. With a
- 00:13:54coaching or freelancing service, you
- 00:13:56don't need that many people at all. You
- 00:13:57need two to three to four people a
- 00:14:00month. Now, with that, there are various
- 00:14:01ways to make this work. But when you're
- 00:14:03building an audience, you can message
- 00:14:05people who engage with your content
- 00:14:07about your service. And this is better
- 00:14:09than cold outreach because people
- 00:14:11already know who you are. You can link a
- 00:14:13questionnaire in your bio and high
- 00:14:14performing content for people to fill
- 00:14:16out to work with you and then message
- 00:14:18them to follow up and close the deal.
- 00:14:20Now, remember our two starter options.
- 00:14:22you have a digital product like a
- 00:14:24template, guide or book and then a
- 00:14:25service like freelance coaching or
- 00:14:27consulting. So for the first you need to
- 00:14:29be very good at generating traffic and
- 00:14:31for the second you will need to
- 00:14:32understand sales and client acquisition
- 00:14:34and outreach because your content will
- 00:14:36pull in some leads potentially but it's
- 00:14:38more of a trust and nurturing mechanism.
- 00:14:40You're going to have to do outreach.
- 00:14:41You're going to have to DM people and
- 00:14:43talk to them and have a different kind
- 00:14:45of landing page and funnel for a service
- 00:14:49versus an actual product. Because when
- 00:14:51you're selling a service, it's pretty
- 00:14:52high ticket, right? You need to overcome
- 00:14:54a lot of objections. You need to stretch
- 00:14:55it out. There's different ways of doing
- 00:14:57it. Look that up. But for a product,
- 00:14:59sometimes it's as simple as opening a
- 00:15:01store on Stan, Stan, which is like a
- 00:15:04digital product platform, and writing
- 00:15:06the landing page copy, and then you're
- 00:15:08good to go. And you just need to send
- 00:15:10people to that page and test and refine
- 00:15:12over time. Now, the thing here is as
- 00:15:13your audience grows, that's when you
- 00:15:16evolve this product or service because
- 00:15:18you're trying to do something that's
- 00:15:20higher leverage, when you have more
- 00:15:21leverage, which is an audience. So, a
- 00:15:23freelance service can evolve into a
- 00:15:25digital product that teaches your skill
- 00:15:27or system, a digital product can evolve
- 00:15:29into a software or physical product. And
- 00:15:31now that you have an audience and
- 00:15:32knowledge to make the e-commerce
- 00:15:34business work on the first go, rather
- 00:15:36than trying to make it work the other
- 00:15:37way around. Now, do you see why this is
- 00:15:40powerful? You can still build any type
- 00:15:42of business you want with this model.
- 00:15:44You just start in a way that allows you
- 00:15:46to do that as a beginner. And with each
- 00:15:48evolution, you decrease the amount of
- 00:15:51time you spend fulfilling the work and
- 00:15:53increase the amount of money you can
- 00:15:54make and have an audience large enough
- 00:15:56to fuel that entire process. Client
- 00:15:58work, like freelancing or coaching,
- 00:16:00means you only have so much time and can
- 00:16:03only take on so many clients, meaning
- 00:16:04your income is capped at some point
- 00:16:07unless you hire a team. Now, products in
- 00:16:09general can sell while you sleep. And if
- 00:16:11you have an audience to fuel them, you
- 00:16:13can do quite well for yourself and gain
- 00:16:15more control over your day. And by that
- 00:16:17point, you should have more than enough
- 00:16:18money to enjoy your life or take it
- 00:16:20further and invest in starting a bigger
- 00:16:22company like a software startup or more
- 00:16:24intensive business. So, we're building
- 00:16:26an audience. We have evolving products
- 00:16:28or services. And now we need T-shaped
- 00:16:30content. So, how do we write content?
- 00:16:32What kind of content do we write? And if
- 00:16:34you cringe when you hear the word
- 00:16:35content or content creator, don't worry
- 00:16:37because I do too. What I want you to
- 00:16:39realize is that there are three main
- 00:16:41ways to attract customers to your work.
- 00:16:43There's media, word of mouth, and direct
- 00:16:46outreach. Direct outreach is useful when
- 00:16:49starting out with something like a
- 00:16:50service, but it's low leverage and slow.
- 00:16:52You also probably won't get word of
- 00:16:54mouth without media first, so we are
- 00:16:56obviously focused on that. Paid ads are
- 00:16:58media. SEO is media. Billboards and the
- 00:17:01radio are outdated media. Anything you
- 00:17:04produce as marketing material to attract
- 00:17:06customers is media. But of course, we're
- 00:17:08building an audience. So, if it helps,
- 00:17:11think of content as synonymous with
- 00:17:13media because it is. You don't need to
- 00:17:16identify as a content creator to execute
- 00:17:18on a singular part of your business that
- 00:17:20will determine most of its success,
- 00:17:22which is creating content. And if you

- 00:17:51sell, etc. Uh, and then as well with
- 00:17:53this update, it's actually kind of
- 00:17:55crazy. You can go to the market section.
- 00:17:57So, marketing, you can create your
- 00:17:59customer avatar. You can replicate any
- 00:18:01person's voice or have a voice analysis
- 00:18:03of your own. You can run through the
- 00:18:04offer creation blueprint where it
- 00:18:06interviews you and then spits out
- 00:18:08another document with your offer. So,
- 00:18:10now you have this personal brand
- 00:18:11strategy document mapped out for you.
- 00:18:13You have a customer avatar. You have
- 00:18:14your offer blueprint. You have your
- 00:18:15voice analysis. You can plug all of
- 00:18:17those into the persuasive sales or
- 00:18:20emails. You can plug those into the
- 00:18:22persuasive emails or the persuasive
- 00:18:24landing page generator by stringing all
- 00:18:26of the documents together and then it
- 00:18:28spits out a full landing page for your
- 00:18:31product or service that you can start
- 00:18:32selling. Then if you go to the create
- 00:18:34tab, you can have it give you social
- 00:18:36media content ideas. You can have it
- 00:18:38recreate any YouTube video in your own
- 00:18:40voice. There's so much. Just go try it
- 00:18:42out. You can try it for free and we have

- 00:18:47Deepcosted on US servers. So you can
- 00:18:49have all of those in one place and don't
- 00:18:50need to pay for multiple subscriptions.
- 00:18:52But how do you start writing content as
- 00:18:55a beginner? 80% of it should be based on
- 00:18:57the topic you plan to create a product
- 00:18:58or service around. 20% should be based
- 00:19:01on other interests or opinions to
- 00:19:02experiment with what your audience
- 00:19:04likes. T-shaped, which is a term that
- 00:19:06Valve uses to describe their employees
- 00:19:08who are great at one thing but good at
- 00:19:10many things. So deep in your main
- 00:19:12expertise complemented with your other
- 00:19:14interests. But remember on social media,
- 00:19:17you are being spread to random people
- 00:19:18who have no idea who you are and are
- 00:19:21probably a beginner in the topic you are
- 00:19:23talking about. Yes, even if you're
- 00:19:25selling a freelance service, the person
- 00:19:26you are doing the work for is a
- 00:19:28beginner, otherwise they wouldn't hire
- 00:19:30you. So you avoid getting too technical
- 00:19:32or clever with your content. If you go
- 00:19:34on social media and wonder why is there
- 00:19:36no deep stuff here? Why is there no
- 00:19:38advanced stuff here? That's because
- 00:19:40that's reserved for the products and
- 00:19:43services because people don't go on
- 00:19:45social media to learn the advanced
- 00:19:46stuff. And the people you're trying to
- 00:19:48attract aren't advanced people. They're
- 00:19:50beginners. That's why they hire you. So
- 00:19:53the majority of your content, if not all
- 00:19:55of your content, should be beginner to
- 00:19:57intermediate level. Your newsletters,
- 00:19:58products, services, free downloads
- 00:20:00should be intermediate to advanced
- 00:20:02level. Why content? How product? Think
- 00:20:05about that. So you're building an
- 00:20:07audience. You have evolving products or
- 00:20:08services. you have traffic via T-shaped
- 00:20:11content. Now, how do we start? We
- 00:20:14understand like the big picture, but how
- 00:20:16do you actually start doing this? Aside
- 00:20:18from going through the Cortex AI flows
- 00:20:20to actually get the blueprints for these
- 00:20:22things. So, let's start there. Nobody
- 00:20:24can tell you how to build a business.
- 00:20:26They can only tell you how they built
- 00:20:28theirs. Nobody can teach you branding,
- 00:20:30content creation, writing, marketing,
- 00:20:32product, or any of those things. They
- 00:20:34can only share the processes that worked
- 00:20:36for them in the situation they were in
- 00:20:38with the mind they have. Now the thing
- 00:20:40is you aren't in their situation. You
- 00:20:43don't have access to their mind. This
- 00:20:44holds true for anything in your life.
- 00:20:46You can study others invaluable
- 00:20:48processes but you will never escape the
- 00:20:50need for experimentation, persistence
- 00:20:52and iteration to the point where you
- 00:20:53turn that process into your own. So you
- 00:20:56can treat these as a starting point but
- 00:20:58that's all they are. These guidelines
- 00:21:00are for clarity. They are not law. Learn
- 00:21:03the rules, then break them so you don't
- 00:21:05become both a clone and a failure. Now,
- 00:21:07the first and most important place that
- 00:21:09you start is with intelligent imitation.
- 00:21:12We've talked about this before, and the
- 00:21:14OGs know what this is because you don't
- 00:21:16need a book of information to set up
- 00:21:18your profile, write viral content, and
- 00:21:20make millions selling a product. You
- 00:21:22simply need two eyes connected to a half
- 00:21:24functioning brain. Observation and
- 00:21:26experimentation are the best teachers,
- 00:21:28and you are literally drowning in
- 00:21:30education. You look at social media
- 00:21:32bios, brands, content, and marketing
- 00:21:34every day, but you view it as a
- 00:21:36consumer. Once you flip to the lens of a
- 00:21:38creator, everything on your feed becomes
- 00:21:40inspiration that you can steal like an
- 00:21:42artist. So, in a nutshell, if you want
- 00:21:44to learn how to do anything beyond this
- 00:21:47business model, save three to five
- 00:21:49sources of inspiration for brands,
- 00:21:51content, and products. Break down the
- 00:21:53structure and characteristics of each of
- 00:21:55those things. So, when you're looking at
- 00:21:56content, how does the hook look? What
- 00:21:58does the body look like? Okay, there's
- 00:22:00two different kinds of content here.
- 00:22:02This one's just a paragraph. This one
- 00:22:03has bullet points. What's the purpose
- 00:22:05behind that? How are they structuring
- 00:22:06their argument? Okay, look at a landing
- 00:22:08page. Why did they write the headline
- 00:22:09this way? Can I try to emulate that for
- 00:22:11my own product? That's what you do to
- 00:22:13learn anything. So, you take one little
- 00:22:15piece of what they do and try it out.
- 00:22:17Then you take another, then another,
- 00:22:19then another. And you can supplement
- 00:22:21with courses, videos, or education as
- 00:22:23you go so you understand why you are
- 00:22:25doing what you're doing. As an example,
- 00:22:27if you want to write a newsletter or
- 00:22:29article or YouTube video script and use
- 00:22:31mine as inspiration, you start by
- 00:22:33breaking down the structure. So, for
- 00:22:35this video, I start with an introduction
- 00:22:36with how I view a topic. I expose how
- 00:22:39most people think about it and dig deep
- 00:22:41into why that's a problem. Then, I have
- 00:22:43a section that illustrates the old way
- 00:22:45and new way of doing something. Then, I
- 00:22:47have a section with a big picture
- 00:22:48overview of the entire process. And
- 00:22:50finally, where we are now, which is a
- 00:22:52final section with actionable steps for
- 00:22:54beginners. So you can take that outline
- 00:22:56a newsletter or article or YouTube video
- 00:22:58script with the same exact structure but
- 00:23:00with a different topic and with your own
- 00:23:02voice. Now what about building a brand?
- 00:23:05You look at three to five sources of
- 00:23:07inspiration or brands that you admire
- 00:23:09and you take different pieces from them.
- 00:23:11You can take parts of their color scheme
- 00:23:13or their bio or how they write content
- 00:23:15or whatever it is. And that's the same
- 00:23:16with content. You find a validated idea
- 00:23:18that has great engagement and break it
- 00:23:20down into what makes it do well. Then
- 00:23:22you rewrite it. Learning anything can be
- 00:23:25as simple, not easy, as that. Do exactly
- 00:23:29that as you set up your profile, write
- 00:23:31your first piece of content, and build
- 00:23:32your first product. Study content that
- 00:23:34does well, study brands that do well,
- 00:23:36study products that do well. Take a
- 00:23:38piece from each every time you write,
- 00:23:40design, build, or sell, and you will
- 00:23:42turn out fine. So, that's intelligent
- 00:23:43imitation. That's how you learn and do
- 00:23:45anything really. You That's how people
- 00:23:48What do you think people did before they
- 00:23:50had books and courses? they just did it
- 00:23:52and they kind of copied other people and
- 00:23:54combined things together. So the second
- 00:23:55thing is to learn direct response
- 00:23:57marketing then forget it because direct
- 00:24:00response marketing is kind of like the
- 00:24:01poster child for scammers and sleazy
- 00:24:04salesmen. What direct response marketing
- 00:24:05is is it birthed the era of things like
- 00:24:08Clickfunnels and countdown timers and
- 00:24:10fake scarcity and everything else that
- 00:24:12sets off alarms in people's heads when
- 00:24:14they go to a landing page and you can
- 00:24:15just tell like something is trying to
- 00:24:18push me too hard to buy here. It's still
- 00:24:20around today and you can spot it and
- 00:24:22some people do it more tasteful than
- 00:24:24others. But with things like Tik Tok
- 00:24:25shop or just reels that are quick to the
- 00:24:27conversion or drop shipping or consumer
- 00:24:29app downloads and other things, that's
- 00:24:31great. But what people are missing here
- 00:24:32is pairing direct response marketing
- 00:24:34with long-term brand marketing and brand
- 00:24:37trust because most apps and products in
- 00:24:40general are just a flash in the pan.
- 00:24:41They're like Flappy Bird, just less
- 00:24:43successful. They do okay for a bit and
- 00:24:45then they get taken down. Now, maybe not
- 00:24:48like Flappy Bird, but you get what I
- 00:24:49mean. They get their spike of popularity
- 00:24:51and then they crash. So, in short,
- 00:24:53direct response marketing or advertising
- 00:24:56in general is learning how to capture
- 00:24:58attention, guide attention, and get the
- 00:25:00reader to take action or convert. Most
- 00:25:02people just call it copywriting nowadays
- 00:25:04and flex it as the greatest skill to
- 00:25:05learn to make money. And they're not
- 00:25:07completely wrong because this is how
- 00:25:09Alex Hormosi built all of his first
- 00:25:12businesses. Now, while this skill can
- 00:25:14seem sleazy or unethical, that's usually
- 00:25:16a reflection of the development of the
- 00:25:18individual. In my eyes, it's the best
- 00:25:20way to find the principles of
- 00:25:22psychology, human nature, and attention
- 00:25:24all in one practical place that you can
- 00:25:26learn how to actually apply in the real
- 00:25:28world. So, if I were to learn the
- 00:25:29fundamentals today, I would read
- 00:25:31Cashtising by Drew Eric Whitman, read
- 00:25:34Influence by Robert Shielddini, and you
- 00:25:36can find others like Great Leads. And I
- 00:25:38haven't read these ones, but I've heard
- 00:25:40great things about Traffic Secrets and
- 00:25:41Expert Secrets by Russell Brunson, who
- 00:25:43is the founder of ClickFunnels. And
- 00:25:44that's even though he's not looking too
- 00:25:46hot in the public eye anymore. The
- 00:25:48books, I'm assuming, have all of the
- 00:25:50information in them. So read those. I
- 00:25:52didn't recommend them. I haven't read
- 00:25:53them. They're an option. Then you can
- 00:25:55listen to 5 to 10 YouTube videos and
- 00:25:57podcasts on that topic. So direct
- 00:25:59response marketing or copywriting. And
- 00:26:01then you write newsletters, landing
- 00:26:03pages, and social posts practicing what
- 00:26:05you learn along the way. Now, with those
- 00:26:07recommendations like cash advertising,
- 00:26:09many copywriters disagree with me and
- 00:26:11they say there's better books like great
- 00:26:12leads. But th that's just what I
- 00:26:14personally read. I read cash advertising
- 00:26:16and influence and those helped me and it
- 00:26:18taught me a good amount as an absolute
- 00:26:20beginner. It kind of opened my mind to
- 00:26:21oh okay now I understand how these
- 00:26:23people are doing things. So just read
- 00:26:25multiple books on the topic and you'll
- 00:26:27be fine. So after intelligent imitation
- 00:26:29and learning direct response marketing
- 00:26:31you now can learn anything. You can
- 00:26:33start doing these things. Now you
- 00:26:35understand how to make it so your social
- 00:26:37posts and landing pages and products
- 00:26:38actually are actually good and you can
- 00:26:41drive traffic to them. The third thing
- 00:26:43you need to do is establish who you are,
- 00:26:45what you do, and why you're here.
- 00:26:48Because the single biggest mistake is
- 00:26:49that most people think that social media
- 00:26:51is just some kind of lottery. They don't
- 00:26:53understand that social media is a skill
- 00:26:55that can be learned like anything. So
- 00:26:57they go in thinking they can just write
- 00:26:59any old post and pray that our Lord and
- 00:27:01Savior, the algorithm will make them
- 00:27:02rich and famous overnight. Stop it. The
- 00:27:05reality is that when you start,
- 00:27:06absolutely nobody knows about you or
- 00:27:09cares about you. The first 6 to 12
- 00:27:11months of your journey should be to
- 00:27:13prove that you have value to offer. Now,
- 00:27:15how do you do that? The first option is
- 00:27:17a free download. So you create a
- 00:27:19comprehensive free download that teaches
- 00:27:21the fundamentals of your main topic or
- 00:27:23interest. Unlike social content that
- 00:27:25disappears after a day, a free download
- 00:27:27can be linked in your bio and promoted
- 00:27:29over and over again. So, you create this
- 00:27:30free download and then you promote it
- 00:27:32under your social post. Just go look at
- 00:27:34how other people are doing this. You
- 00:27:36promote it in your stories. You promote
- 00:27:37it in the comments of a LinkedIn post of
- 00:27:39your own. You put it in your bio. You
- 00:27:41get as many people to read that thing as
- 00:27:43possible because it establishes your
- 00:27:44authority in a specific interest. If you
- 00:27:46need a place to host this, again, sign
- 00:27:48up for Stan S tan because it allows you

- 00:27:54gives you your own link in bio like a
- 00:27:56link tree, but you can also host
- 00:27:57products or services. Now, the next
- 00:27:59thing you do is you extend that into a
- 00:28:01product or service. People think that
- 00:28:03digital products make them a sellout
- 00:28:05when it does the complete opposite. Most
- 00:28:07creators fail because they don't have a
- 00:28:09product people can buy that changes
- 00:28:11their life to the point of becoming
- 00:28:12loyal fans. Your content can only do so
- 00:28:15much. So you can link your product in
- 00:28:18your free download and let that bring in
- 00:28:19your first few dollars. The next thing
- 00:28:21is to write cornerstone content. So 80%
- 00:28:24of your content should be about your
- 00:28:26story, the basics of your main topic,
- 00:28:28actionable and authoritative tips, what
- 00:28:30you do during your day, and why you feel
- 00:28:32like all of those are important.
- 00:28:34Remember why, content, how, product.
- 00:28:37Talk about the why, the importance in
- 00:28:39your content, and the how exactly how
- 00:28:42you do it in the product. The next and
- 00:28:44arguably most important thing is to
- 00:28:45inject yourself into a tribe. So when I
- 00:28:48want to join a new space or niche on
- 00:28:51social media, like I started out in the
- 00:28:54web design space and then I broke into
- 00:28:55more of the creator space and then I
- 00:28:57broke into the marketing space and now
- 00:28:59I'm not really trying to, but I could
- 00:29:00break into the tech or startup space if
- 00:29:02I wanted to. And the way I do that is I
- 00:29:05make a list of 5 to 10 people that I
- 00:29:07think represent that space the most and
- 00:29:10are the most active in that space. and I
- 00:29:12start making myself known to them. I
- 00:29:14comment on their post. I join their
- 00:29:16communities. I share their content and
- 00:29:17DM them to start conversations. Just
- 00:29:19yesterday, I saw someone that I follow
- 00:29:21on Instagram who's pretty big and I saw
- 00:29:23him starting to post on Twitter, too.
- 00:29:25And I noticed him there just he
- 00:29:27commented on someone else's post and I'm
- 00:29:28like, "Oh crap, that's that one guy."
- 00:29:30So, I immediately went to his DMs and I
- 00:29:32just said, "Hey, man. Love your content
- 00:29:33on Instagram. It's cool to see you
- 00:29:34here." That's it. He responded. We
- 00:29:36started a conversation. Now, I have that
- 00:29:38connection. We didn't ask anything of
- 00:29:40anything of each other. I offered to
- 00:29:42share stuff for free for him. But now I
- 00:29:44have someone I can go to who's in that
- 00:29:46space and I can I have a connection
- 00:29:49there and that's what you need to kind
- 00:29:50of root yourself in. And you have a
- 00:29:52connection. They're good people. As I do
- 00:29:54this more and more, replying to people,
- 00:29:56DMing people, then the people within
- 00:29:58that space, not just the creators or
- 00:30:00influencers, get to see my face more and
- 00:30:02start to attribute me to that tribe and
- 00:30:05they follow me because they see me so
- 00:30:07often. Now, the last thing here is to
- 00:30:09just write good comments. And excuse my
- 00:30:11language, but holy do people not
- 00:30:13understand what this means, no matter
- 00:30:14how much it's repeated in any piece of
- 00:30:16social media advice you get. Opening the
- 00:30:18comment section of any post is a
- 00:30:20complete trash heap. It's the simplest
- 00:30:22thing in the world to stand out. If you
- 00:30:24say, "Great insight," that's not a good
- 00:30:26comment, and you won't get people to
- 00:30:28care about you. AI generated responses
- 00:30:30are obvious and get you blocked. Just
- 00:30:32start your comment on someone's post
- 00:30:34with I remember when and talk about a
- 00:30:37time in your life where the topic of
- 00:30:39their post was relevant to your life.
- 00:30:41This gets way more people to become
- 00:30:42curious in you. And yes, all of this
- 00:30:45takes work because this is a business.
- 00:30:47It's not quick. It takes time. All of
- 00:30:49those things should be obvious. You
- 00:30:51clearly have to establish a baseline
- 00:30:52level of information people can sink
- 00:30:54their teeth into before they trust you.
- 00:30:56A few social posts isn't going to cut
