00:00:02
so today's topic is going to be one of
00:00:04
those controversial ones as you're aware
00:00:07
I try to mix classical Islam Hadith with
00:00:12
history and with modernity and I have to
00:00:15
give an introduction before uh I talk
00:00:18
about this topic because what the the
00:00:20
issue or the scenario is that some of
00:00:22
our youngsters came to me uh a country
00:00:25
not to no need to mention the name of
00:00:27
the country has recently instituted a
00:00:29
policy of very strict women's code in
00:00:32
public Banning women speaking in public
00:00:36
uh curtailing the education of women and
00:00:38
they are doing this in the name of Islam
00:00:40
and our youngsters our youth our sisters
00:00:43
especially they're wondering what do we
00:00:45
do should we criticize in public should
00:00:48
we defend is this Islam what exactly do
00:00:51
we it's a very awkward scenario this is
00:00:53
in the news for the last week and
00:00:55
especially our mua sisters they're put
00:00:57
on line they're put on the the the
00:00:59
Inquisition people ask them are you
00:01:01
supporting of this policy or is this
00:01:03
something a part of your Islamic
00:01:04
tradition that even the face is covered
00:01:07
and you cannot even speak and whatnot so
00:01:09
this is a awkward reality that we have
00:01:11
to explain and discuss now the fact of
00:01:15
the matter is these are very difficult
00:01:16
topics it's not easy and when I Venture
00:01:20
into these complex topics as usual I
00:01:23
open the door for a whole barrage of
00:01:26
criticism if you are aware every
00:01:28
everybody is aware subh Allah
00:01:30
I am criticized by every single front
00:01:32
for every single thing either I'm a
00:01:33
fundamentalist fanatic or I'm a CIA
00:01:35
agent or everything in the middle or I'm
00:01:38
a reformer of Islam or a ran scholar or
00:01:40
a sellout or a jihadist or whatnot
00:01:42
everything you can imagine I have been
00:01:43
labeled and I sometimes wonder should I
00:01:46
just leave talking about these topics
00:01:48
and just do some classical
00:01:49
non-controversial stuff but W my
00:01:51
conscience cannot allow this w i find it
00:01:54
with utmost respect to all the other
00:01:56
Scholars is good for them I am genuinely
00:01:59
concern concerned about the IM of our
00:02:02
next generation and if we do not talk
00:02:05
about these difficult complex topics if
00:02:07
we leave them in the dark then who else
00:02:10
is going to explain do you want them to
00:02:11
be educated by CNN do you want them to
00:02:14
get their information from Fox News so
00:02:18
we have to discuss some very difficult
00:02:20
topics and when I discuss one of the
00:02:22
problems is that so many of our uh
00:02:26
insiders if you like religious folks
00:02:28
they want a simplistic black can white
00:02:30
answer they want to yes or noal and and
00:02:34
when you don't give it to them and when
00:02:35
you try to be nuanced and if you listen
00:02:38
to my talks you know me I always try to
00:02:39
give context you know this is a
00:02:42
multifaceted difficult topic it's not a
00:02:45
simple yes or no when you try to do this
00:02:47
and therefore the simple-minded I call
00:02:50
them one-dimensional fundamentalists you
00:02:51
don't give them what they want
00:02:53
immediately oh this means you're
00:02:54
destroying Islam you're reforming Islam
00:02:56
you're a you're Z no
00:03:00
we want to defend Islam but sometimes
00:03:03
these are complex issues that are
00:03:05
involving multiple Arenas and so there's
00:03:07
no easy answer this is a regime and a
00:03:10
group of people they have a history that
00:03:12
they're not coming out of nowhere and
00:03:14
the reality is that you cannot give a
00:03:17
simplistic one syllable answer yes or no
00:03:20
so what we're going to try to do today
00:03:22
is to educate to begin the conversation
00:03:24
and even if I'm mistaken in some views
00:03:27
the goal is to defend Islam and the goal
00:03:29
is to raise awareness if you disagree
00:03:31
come to me let's have a discussion the
00:03:33
goal is to provoke thought the goal is
00:03:35
you do your research I'm going to be
00:03:36
mentioning specific points here and the
00:03:39
way to respond to this is twofold
00:03:41
there's a defensive way I'm going to go
00:03:43
over a few points defensive and then
00:03:45
there's an offensive way okay so bear
00:03:48
with me we're going to go defense mode
00:03:50
two or three points then we're going to
00:03:51
switch over to offensive mode two or
00:03:54
three points then we'll conclude okay as
00:03:56
for the defensive the defensive way
00:03:59
these critics they come and they say oh
00:04:01
how come your Islamic religion has all
00:04:03
of these codes about morality and
00:04:05
whatnot and the response is they are
00:04:07
comparing apples and oranges why because
00:04:10
Islamic law and the Islamic society and
00:04:15
the Shar aims for more than what Western
00:04:18
Law aims for Western Law is not
00:04:21
concerned with private morality Western
00:04:24
Law is not interested in in in of the
00:04:29
West w law has had to force itself to
00:04:32
withdraw from morality Western Law is up
00:04:36
to you what you want to do Islamic law
00:04:39
is not like that and so you cannot
00:04:42
compare liberalism and democracy you
00:04:45
cannot compare secularism with the Shar
00:04:48
its apples and oranges completely
00:04:50
different Paradigm and therefore there's
00:04:52
no point in trying to equate oh this or
00:04:55
that no because Islamic law and the Shar
00:04:58
and a Muslim system Society aims to
00:05:02
preach a type of morality to better your
00:05:04
soul to protect to protect you know
00:05:08
one's IM
00:05:09
one's whereas Western Law Western
00:05:12
Society has no such intention and this
00:05:15
goes back to their history in which they
00:05:19
were not able to live with religion and
00:05:21
the state together if you know your
00:05:23
European history they could not live
00:05:26
under the church the church became so
00:05:28
tyrannical the Church became so backward
00:05:31
that they had to get rid of the church
00:05:33
completely in public life and they said
00:05:36
kalas we don't want anything to do with
00:05:37
the church in public life they had a
00:05:39
very bad experience call it PTSD with
00:05:42
religion we as Muslims never had that
00:05:45
PTSD frankly we look at the past with
00:05:48
glorious lens we have a sense of
00:05:51
nostalgia romantic Nostalgia that in the
00:05:54
good old days we had the Pinnacle of
00:05:56
Technology the Pinnacle of the Pinnacle
00:05:58
of science every everything was combined
00:06:00
we never had the the the types of church
00:06:03
inquisitions Galileo wasn't burnt at our
00:06:05
stake it was burnt at their stake so
00:06:08
Western Society had to divorce itself
00:06:12
from morality or else they could not
00:06:13
live together and our Eastern Society we
00:06:17
flourished under Islamic law and it was
00:06:20
only under colonization that we had to
00:06:22
come under these nation states and strip
00:06:24
away from the Shar and have these
00:06:26
difficult contradictions so fact of the
00:06:28
matter is when a westner complains about
00:06:30
Islamic law you have to sit back and
00:06:32
educate them it's apples and oranges
00:06:34
Islamic law has a very different goal
00:06:37
than Western Law also still in the
00:06:40
defensive mode is that given the reality
00:06:44
of the world we live in question arises
00:06:48
that what exactly does Islam say about
00:06:50
personal and personal morality and
00:06:53
personal dress code and fact of the
00:06:55
matter in an ideal Islamic land if we
00:06:58
lived in a Utopia if everybody mashallah
00:07:00
was a good Muslim who wanted to abide by
00:07:03
the Shar there is no question that in an
00:07:05
Islamic land we would want to land in
00:07:07
which there's no nudity there's no fah
00:07:10
there's no pornography there's no drugs
00:07:12
there's no alcohol there is decency now
00:07:15
what level of strictness and what are
00:07:17
the penalties this even within Islamic
00:07:19
law you have a bit of variation right
00:07:21
and so some interpretations of Islam say
00:07:24
that the face does not have to be
00:07:25
covered it's not obligatory and some
00:07:27
interpretations say that the face should
00:07:29
be covered covered as well so this is
00:07:30
within mainstream Islamic law and me
00:07:33
personally uh I I even though I don't
00:07:36
view theab as being obligatory but still
00:07:38
I respect all opinions that are
00:07:40
mainstream and we have to say that
00:07:42
within the mainstream views there are
00:07:44
views that say that the face Veil is
00:07:46
something that should be protected and
00:07:47
covered uh with regards to the voice of
00:07:50
a woman uh factually speaking the forms
00:07:54
as a default say the voice is not an
00:07:56
it's a very very minority opinion that
00:07:59
says a woman's voice should be as well
00:08:02
generally speaking the default and this
00:08:03
is the classical Hani position as well
00:08:05
some Modern Hanes have a different the
00:08:07
classical Hani school and the shaf and
00:08:09
the malakis and theis all of the M the
00:08:12
default position a woman's voice is not
00:08:15
in nobody has to put any restrictions if
00:08:18
she speaks in a dignified Manner and by
00:08:20
the way this is the Quran and Sunnah
00:08:21
because Allah says in the
00:08:23
Quran that when you speak do not speak
00:08:26
in a flirtatious manner which means you
00:08:27
can speak do not speak in a flirtatious
00:08:30
Manner and throughout the S I cannot
00:08:32
even count how many instances a woman
00:08:34
comes and complains or challenges or
00:08:36
asks a question and never once is she
00:08:39
told hey woman your voice is never once
00:08:42
in the entire s and we have again the
00:08:45
examples are too numerous and that is
00:08:46
the men and women talking to each other
00:08:48
in the marketplace in the Masjid people
00:08:50
recognizing people questioning the women
00:08:52
questioning the prophet wasallam too
00:08:54
many examples so then what is the
00:08:56
evidence of those that say women's
00:08:57
voices they don't quote Quran and Sunnah
00:09:00
as much as they quote a principle and
00:09:01
that principle is shutting the door of
00:09:04
Temptation I.E we don't want to open
00:09:07
this door it's better you know to be Pro
00:09:10
to to be cautious right to be extra over
00:09:13
cautious we should go down this route so
00:09:15
that's what the uh the principle they
00:09:17
use and obviously this is a Pandora's
00:09:18
Box cuz how cautious do you want to go
00:09:20
in this regard but that is the uh the
00:09:22
reality that they they use that in and I
00:09:24
say in an Ideal World in an Ideal World
00:09:27
there should be some No Doubt uh uh soft
00:09:30
power which we want morality we want uh
00:09:34
uh uh covering of the men and women we
00:09:36
want an interaction to be in a dignified
00:09:38
manner now what level one goes it
00:09:40
depends on which interpretation of
00:09:41
Islamic law that having been said
00:09:43
however that having been said however we
00:09:45
also have to point out that we are not
00:09:48
in an Ideal World
00:09:50
and those countries and I'm trying to be
00:09:54
very soft here there's only two or three
00:09:56
countries in the world that have
00:09:58
mandated
00:10:00
covering the hair oh actually I think I
00:10:03
think only two now there's only two or
00:10:06
three countries that have mandated
00:10:08
covering of their Muslim countries and
00:10:10
what we see and this is an awkward
00:10:12
reality so please listen to me because
00:10:13
this is where my critics they kind of
00:10:15
love to just put in their two cents here
00:10:17
what we see those countries that have
00:10:19
been overly harsh or overly conservative
00:10:22
there is a
00:10:24
backlash and the reality is that this
00:10:28
strictness actually causes many people
00:10:31
to leave spirituality and leave loving
00:10:35
Allah and his
00:10:36
messenger and we see in one country that
00:10:39
had a very strict law but recently they
00:10:41
shifted it Subhan Allah from Hardcore
00:10:44
covering to now nightclubs and dancing
00:10:46
overnight where did all of that
00:10:49
strictness go it was completely
00:10:51
superficial we can tell like this
00:10:52
another country has this mandate and
00:10:55
since they have been mandating it the
00:10:57
levels of RDA and Islam has gone from 1%
00:11:01
to
00:11:01
30% like there's such a animosity to
00:11:05
this rule that it is actually now become
00:11:08
something that
00:11:09
people hate Islam for whereas those
00:11:13
countries that haven't mandated it but
00:11:16
have allowed preachers to preach have
00:11:19
softly encouraged it we have found hijab
00:11:22
increasing by tenfold in the 80s hardly
00:11:26
any Middle Eastern and my own country my
00:11:28
parents country as well it wasn't common
00:11:30
amongst the elite we know this I know
00:11:32
this you all know this now you go
00:11:35
there you see
00:11:38
religiosity prayer and hijab everywhere
00:11:41
which one has been more successful harsh
00:11:44
power or soft power so I say and I'm I'm
00:11:48
sorry to be blunt here but especially
00:11:49
our young men who are very overzealous
00:11:52
and if you if they don't get their fatwa
00:11:54
immediately you become the or the Z or
00:11:56
whatnot my dear brothers with utmost
00:11:59
most love and
00:12:00
respect harshness only works in some
00:12:03
situations and scenarios and the general
00:12:06
rule is softness will accomplish more
00:12:09
and this also applies to Islamic laws as
00:12:12
well if Society is not ready and you
00:12:16
come and you be ultra strict you might
00:12:19
end up causing more damage and harm W he
00:12:22
we're on the same wavel don't misquote
00:12:24
me I'm not saying that you know Islamic
00:12:26
law doesn't mandate modesty of course it
00:12:28
mandates modesty but I'm just being
00:12:30
factual with you you're getting angry at
00:12:33
me I'm pushing back at you the majority
00:12:36
of Muslim lands do not mandate this
00:12:38
level in public as the law of the land
00:12:41
the majority Muslim lands have allowed
00:12:43
the preachers to preach and soft power
00:12:46
and you want them to do that but you
00:12:48
don't put in the government and whip
00:12:49
people if they don't because there's
00:12:51
going to be a backlash so again this is
00:12:53
the tension between ideal and between
00:12:57
what reality
00:13:00
this is the tension and when I quote
00:13:02
reality I am not endorsing it I wish we
00:13:05
lived in a Utopia I wish we lived where
00:13:08
everybody's Iman was mashallah 100% And
00:13:11
if their Iman is strong then yes you can
00:13:13
bring a system that is to their level
00:13:16
but when people are not at that level
00:13:18
what did our mother say and this is
00:13:21
something we need to think about we're
00:13:23
still on the defensive we're going to
00:13:24
get to offensive now in a bit our mother
00:13:27
said the first vers of the Quran that
00:13:30
Allah revealed they dealt with Heaven
00:13:32
and Hell J and and and IM then grew in
00:13:37
the heart once Iman became strong then
00:13:41
Allah revealed don't drink and Allah
00:13:43
revealed don't Gamble and Allah revealed
00:13:45
don't do Zena our mother AA herself said
00:13:48
if the first commandment that Allah
00:13:50
revealed would be don't drink and don't
00:13:51
gamble the sahab themselves would have
00:13:53
said we can't do this and unfortunately
00:13:56
our many of our youth they want to jump
00:13:58
to 100
00:13:59
when the people are at level five it
00:14:00
doesn't work that way you have to slowly
00:14:03
build them up now how do you do it and
00:14:05
whatnot will vary from time to place to
00:14:07
culture but I am saying the Shar asks us
00:14:11
that if a policy is going to result in
00:14:13
worse backlash then use your wisdom and
00:14:16
go step by step gradualism is a part of
00:14:19
the sh there's nothing wrong with this
00:14:21
it's notur to say this that listen the
00:14:24
ideal is there you are way down here for
00:14:27
you to come and start at Point 100 when
00:14:30
the people are at Point number five or
00:14:32
something it doesn't work that way also
00:14:35
you have to be fair Islamic law what has
00:14:38
it primarily come to do is the veil
00:14:42
number one on the list how about
00:14:44
prevention of Prim crime how about
00:14:46
safety how about El elimination of
00:14:48
poverty how about Justice isn't this
00:14:51
more important in the Quran than one of
00:14:53
these other aspects so let's begin with
00:14:56
the big issues and work our way down
00:14:58
listen to me carefully the goal yes is
00:15:00
the full program but you don't start
00:15:03
from the bottom By ignoring the top
00:15:05
because it's going to result in a
00:15:06
backlash so organically slowly but
00:15:08
surely this is how it should go and
00:15:10
eventually when the people are ready we
00:15:12
give we give them inshallah t a higher
00:15:14
level so this is on the uh defensive and
00:15:17
for the record me personally I do not
00:15:19
view women's voice as in and uh women's
00:15:22
education again personally again we're
00:15:25
going to have a she here who has written
00:15:26
30 volumes about female Scholars of
00:15:28
Islam he has a book 30 volumes about the
00:15:31
female Scholars of Islam we've always
00:15:33
had female scholarship we've always had
00:15:36
uh and and the scholarship has been a
00:15:39
part of the tradition so I I personally
00:15:41
do not agree with this but they have
00:15:43
their their views and even if we
00:15:44
disagree uh it is what they have done
00:15:46
now this is the defensive now let's go
00:15:48
on the offensive the offensive against
00:15:51
the critics we need to understand that
00:15:55
while it is true that Western lands are
00:15:57
largely secular they don't get involved
00:15:59
in private morality still you cannot
00:16:02
have a law that is completely immune to
00:16:05
morality even the West has morality laws
00:16:10
they must because by system by
00:16:12
government you must talk about private
00:16:14
issues simple example the West is still
00:16:16
discussing issues of of of abortion
00:16:19
issues of LGBT they're discussing it
00:16:21
because it does affect public and
00:16:23
private and they're having their own
00:16:25
agendas about this they're they
00:16:27
themselves have laws about modesty and
00:16:29
nudity every single country in the world
00:16:33
has certain laws about indecency every
00:16:35
country in this country you have
00:16:38
different laws for men and women about
00:16:40
what they can and they cannot wear this
00:16:41
is the reality and person will say but
00:16:45
hold on a sec the laws of America don't
00:16:47
deal with the head scarf they deal with
00:16:49
maybe the upper body or the lower body
00:16:51
and we say so the point is the law of
00:16:54
the land is getting involved in covering
00:16:57
the body yes or no yes the law of the
00:17:00
land philosophically speaking let's not
00:17:03
ask the percentage of the body is not
00:17:05
this government also dictating that a
00:17:07
man and a woman cannot walk around
00:17:09
publicly without anything on yes there's
00:17:12
indecency laws in the federal level and
00:17:14
there's indecency laws at the state
00:17:16
level there's indecency laws you will go
00:17:18
to jail you will get fined in every
00:17:21
Western Country even those for saying
00:17:24
this but some countries you're not going
00:17:25
to be fine for being absolutely no
00:17:27
clothed but certain ax conjugal
00:17:29
relations cannot be done in public why
00:17:33
because it's indecent so every single
00:17:36
country has indecency laws so then the
00:17:39
issue then becomes who gets to decide
00:17:43
what is indecent and what
00:17:45
isn't who gets to decide what percentage
00:17:48
of the body should be covered our
00:17:50
country this country
00:17:52
America it's indecency laws keep on
00:17:55
going down and down and down and
00:17:57
down everyone one of us who grew up in
00:18:00
the 70s ' 80s 90s we see how Society has
00:18:03
changed what was not allowed on public
00:18:05
TV is now mainstream on public TV what
00:18:08
even the uh uh what even the uh cables
00:18:11
did not allow now it is mainstream
00:18:14
completely so when you don't have a
00:18:16
system in place when you don't have a
00:18:19
clear-cut methodology indecency will
00:18:22
continue to go down and down and down
00:18:24
and down and down in this country in
00:18:26
this country sorry to be a little bit
00:18:28
explicit a two-piece bathing suit was
00:18:30
considered to be indecent and immoral up
00:18:33
until the 60s 60s you you would be
00:18:38
arrested in fact there's a famous
00:18:40
picture it is so Halal I can even show
00:18:42
it in the Masjid nobody would get angry
00:18:43
that's how it is that a woman is wearing
00:18:45
a full bathing suit in this country 1920
00:18:47
a full bathing suit but it goes only to
00:18:50
her Shin to her uh beneath the the the
00:18:53
the knees it only goes to Here full
00:18:55
bathing suit and famous picture she's
00:18:57
being arrested in Cali
00:18:59
Beach why because her Shin is showing
00:19:02
this is 100 years ago 100 years ago
00:19:06
she's wearing full bathing suit which we
00:19:08
now call A burini B bka the women's our
00:19:12
sisters wear it right she's wearing
00:19:13
basically a bini right and she goes to
00:19:16
jail in this country in this country why
00:19:19
because her feet and her upper Shin a
00:19:22
lower Shin not lower Shin is being
00:19:24
exposed so in 100 years from going to
00:19:28
jail jail because your feet are showing
00:19:30
or your lower Shin is showing to
00:19:32
now complete almost in the beaches
00:19:35
complete almost nudity what happens when
00:19:37
you don't have a system in place this is
00:19:40
what's going to happen so every
00:19:42
government every country has decency
00:19:45
laws and you will go to jail for being
00:19:47
indecent if other countries have
00:19:49
different laws we need to push back why
00:19:52
should American morality and American
00:19:54
indecency be the standard of the whole
00:19:57
globe what gives America the right to
00:19:59
dictate decency laws why can't other
00:20:01
cultures have their own decency laws so
00:20:03
we push back at them who are you to
00:20:05
dictate to the rest of the world when
00:20:07
you yourselves are debating and you
00:20:09
yourselves have constant cases and
00:20:11
whatnot back and forth between and now
00:20:13
the AI images another debate is
00:20:15
happening if the AI comes and and and
00:20:17
and pretends to be a living person and
00:20:19
creates a indecent image is that legal
00:20:21
or not now the courts are debating this
00:20:23
Child AI the courts are debating this so
00:20:26
indecency laws are Universal around the
00:20:29
world if a certain regime has a
00:20:32
different standard than your regime
00:20:34
they're all standards and no one culture
00:20:36
should have the right to be the
00:20:38
definitive so we go on the defense over
00:20:40
there as well another uh defense that we
00:20:42
can do or another sorry offensive sorry
00:20:44
offensive another offensive we can do is
00:20:46
that you seem to be overly concerned
00:20:49
only when Muslim women are involved you
00:20:51
never get involved when the Western laws
00:20:54
seem to criminalize against Muslim dress
00:20:57
code you only only want their quote
00:20:59
unquote freedoms in Muslim lands why are
00:21:01
you not complaining about Belgium and
00:21:04
about France and about other countries
00:21:06
that have banned the hijab or the
00:21:09
where's the freedom of women over there
00:21:11
and as you're probably aware I just told
00:21:13
you that woman was arrested uh for you
00:21:15
know exposing her lower leg in 1920 well
00:21:18
a year ago two years ago a woman was
00:21:21
arrested a Muslim sister was arrested in
00:21:23
France and again I showed the picture
00:21:25
and I put it on my on my Facebook she
00:21:27
was arrested in France because she wore
00:21:29
a head scarf and she was fully covered
00:21:31
on the beach the French have a law it is
00:21:33
not allowed to be covered on the beach
00:21:36
this is her law and she got fined I
00:21:38
think β¬500 why because she's wearing a
00:21:41
head scarf and she's wearing a full you
00:21:43
know modest clothing sitting on the
00:21:45
beach with her kids and the police came
00:21:47
and wrote her a fine you're not allowed
00:21:49
to be covered on the beach how come
00:21:52
these same institutions CNN and Fox News
00:21:54
don't get irritated at France where's
00:21:56
the freedom of the women in France all
00:21:57
of a sudden ctive outrage only when
00:22:00
Muslim women are covered they just
00:22:02
cannot stand it and they want to get rid
00:22:04
of the covering okay how about in
00:22:06
Western laws when Muslim women choose to
00:22:09
be covered how about then so we can be
00:22:11
on the offensive over here as well in
00:22:13
this regard that there's a selective
00:22:15
outrage also another offensive in
00:22:17
reality that we have to point out is
00:22:19
that this regime that you're so
00:22:21
irritated about it's not coming out of
00:22:23
thin air you used to control this very
00:22:26
land and in your time frame this land
00:22:30
was completely subjugated to internal
00:22:33
Civil War to mobs to hysteria people
00:22:36
were not safe on the streets women would
00:22:38
get raped always under your watch under
00:22:41
your watch it was not safe for men and
00:22:44
women to live this regime has come
00:22:47
whether you like it or not they have
00:22:48
brought a semblance of civil law and
00:22:52
order women can actually walk safely on
00:22:55
the street without being intimidated now
00:22:58
which would you rather have a society
00:23:00
where a woman can wear whatever she
00:23:02
wants while the possibility of being
00:23:04
raped which happened under your watch or
00:23:06
a society where she might have to be a
00:23:08
little bit extra but there is civil law
00:23:10
and order you see again it's so easy for
00:23:13
the critics to point out the negatives
00:23:15
but how about the positives this society
00:23:18
and this regime whatever you want to say
00:23:20
it has brought stability and it has
00:23:23
brought a sense of order that this
00:23:25
country has not had for over 40 years
00:23:28
and then I go to my final Point here and
00:23:30
this is really the the harshest Point
00:23:33
here who exactly are you to tell us that
00:23:37
you care about women especially in that
00:23:40
region when you directly have been
00:23:42
involved in massacring and killing over
00:23:45
a million people by your own invasions
00:23:48
in that country wall the hypocrisy of
00:23:52
America and I say this as somebody born
00:23:54
and raised here the hypocrisy of our
00:23:57
government and our media
00:23:59
to point fingers at a local group that
00:24:03
is from their own tradition and
00:24:05
background for having women cover and
00:24:06
saying we want the freedom of women the
00:24:08
very fingers you are wagging they are
00:24:10
dripping with the blood of a million
00:24:13
widows a million children have died
00:24:15
because of our Invasion and even now as
00:24:17
we speak you talk about caring for women
00:24:20
50,000 children have died in Gaza
00:24:22
because of your lands so many women are
00:24:25
without children without husbands
00:24:27
massacred because of our bombs we have
00:24:30
to push back and say who do you think
00:24:32
you are to make us pretend that you care
00:24:35
about women and children it is obvious
00:24:37
that you have no concern for actual
00:24:40
sanctity of life rather oh Muslims
00:24:43
understand understand I don't like using
00:24:46
the conspiracy card I'm not going to say
00:24:48
conspiracy but I will say it's a vicious
00:24:50
game that is being played a vicious game
00:24:53
what is that game the game is we need to
00:24:57
pretend to the world we are morally
00:24:59
better we are superior to those people
00:25:01
we need to pretend that we are better
00:25:05
and of the ways we will pretend is we
00:25:07
will pretend to care about women's
00:25:09
rights and women's education w we care
00:25:12
about women's rights and education but
00:25:14
you guys cannot claim you care about
00:25:18
women's rights when you have bombed that
00:25:20
very region back into medieval times
00:25:23
when you have invaded under false
00:25:24
pretenses when you have physically raped
00:25:27
your own troops when you have had your
00:25:29
own you know background bases over there
00:25:31
your own torture chambers over there
00:25:33
when you have literally kidnapped women
00:25:36
we have sister AIA sliding literally a
00:25:38
few miles away kidnapped in of the very
00:25:41
land over there the very land over there
00:25:43
literally the very land so please spare
00:25:45
us your hypocrisy that you care about
00:25:48
women's rights because W your actions
00:25:51
speak louder than words you do not care
00:25:53
about women's rights you do not care
00:25:55
about education you do not care about
00:25:57
freedom you have an agenda and as a part
00:26:01
of that agenda you must portray That
00:26:04
civilization as backward and barbaric
00:26:07
even though in terms of covering the
00:26:09
hair versus bombing you are the real
00:26:13
barbaric aliens and Invaders you are the
00:26:16
real people who have massacred and
00:26:18
killed there is no equation between
00:26:20
covering the the head versus literally
00:26:22
massacring a million people so please
00:26:25
spare us this rhetoric of caring about
00:26:27
women and wanting their betterment you
00:26:30
have no right to preach to the very
00:26:32
people whom you have bombed into being
00:26:35
of the Middle Ages and it is because of
00:26:37
your invasions and it is because of your
00:26:39
meddling that this group has actually
00:26:41
achieved legitimacy cuz it is the only
00:26:44
group that gave stability when you could
00:26:46
not give stability it's the only group
00:26:49
that gave the people dignity because
00:26:50
they actually represent the people
00:26:52
they're of the people and by the people
00:26:55
and even if I disagree with some of
00:26:57
their policies and I do for the record I
00:26:59
do disagree listen to me carefully my
00:27:01
criticism will never ever be in the side
00:27:05
of those that have invaded this country
00:27:07
my criticism will be as a brotherto
00:27:09
brother internally we keep our baggage
00:27:11
and our dirty laundry inside I will not
00:27:14
be used as a tool in a vicious game I
00:27:16
will not be used in a pawn from the very
00:27:18
people who want to use me as an inside
00:27:21
native informant as a tool in a vicious
00:27:24
game to legitimize invading to
00:27:27
legitimize their their notion of them
00:27:29
being Superior no W they are not
00:27:32
Superior and even if I disagree with
00:27:34
some policies of this regime and I do I
00:27:37
will try to advise them privately or I
00:27:39
will criticize them internally or I will
00:27:41
never ever join sides with the others
00:27:44
and go on public TV and lambas them
00:27:47
without pointing out who the heck do you
00:27:48
think you are to get involved in all of
00:27:50
this so oh Muslims the situation is more
00:27:53
complex it's not a simplistic yes or no
00:27:56
here even if we disagree and I do
00:27:58
disagree be careful be very careful that
00:28:01
you do not become an unwitting Pawn in a
00:28:04
vicious game that is trying to
00:28:06
legitimize the
00:28:08
dehumanization of our religion that's
00:28:10
really the goal here that's really what
00:28:12
is happening here they choose one of
00:28:14
them who was no doubt viciously attacked
00:28:17
and shot and no doubt we our sympathies
00:28:19
goes out to this lady and they give her
00:28:21
the Nobel Prize right whereas in and why
00:28:24
do they do this because once again they
00:28:26
want to portray that we are are the
00:28:28
victors we are the superior race this is
00:28:30
all a facade it's all a vicious game how
00:28:33
are you the superior race when you're
00:28:35
the ones that bombed them back into
00:28:37
medieval times you're the ones that
00:28:39
invaded you're the ones that have
00:28:40
deprived them of becoming a modern
00:28:42
nation state it's your double invasions
00:28:44
and you're supporting and you're doing
00:28:46
this and that so please spare us this
00:28:49
false rhetoric and this hypocrisy of
00:28:51
pretending to to be superior and
00:28:53
therefore all Muslims and especially our
00:28:56
youth here do not think it's simplistic
00:28:59
either this or that no the world is much
00:29:01
more complex and when they criticize
00:29:04
they're not criticizing except with an
00:29:06
agenda and when they point fingers those
00:29:09
fingers are not pure fingers that
00:29:10
they're pointing so even if you disagree
00:29:13
then disagree from a different Paradigm
00:29:15
not from their Paradigm and if they come
00:29:17
and point something at at at our
00:29:19
brothers and sisters before you join
00:29:21
them and say yes I agree like that make
00:29:23
sure you put a mirror to the very people
00:29:25
that are pointing fingers make sure you
00:29:27
show them hold a sec who exactly are you
00:29:30
and there's a hypocrisy and there's
00:29:31
selective outrage and this and that so
00:29:34
do not fall prey to this false narrative
00:29:36
and understand the world is a complex
00:29:39
place it's not a simplistic place in the
00:29:41
end of the day we make Dua for our
00:29:42
brothers and sisters in that region for
00:29:44
the people in charge in that region to
00:29:46
take the advice and the mash of the
00:29:48
global scholarly Community to prioritize
00:29:51
what Islam wants them to prioritize I am
00:29:52
not in a position to you know dictate
00:29:54
minute details maybe some aspects are
00:29:57
beyond my knowledge so I'm not going to
00:29:58
be too harsh and critical but for the
00:30:00
record I say that uh I I I I think that
00:30:03
they need to also take into account the
00:30:05
pr and the positives and even from an
00:30:07
Islamic perspective really why follow
00:30:09
the strictest opinion why when the Shar
00:30:11
has multiple opinions in my humble
00:30:13
opinion if I were to advise them I would
00:30:15
say you know be wise in this regard and
00:30:17
prioritize other things for the time
00:30:18
being and have a soft morality but to go
00:30:21
to the very strictest perhaps this might
00:30:23
result in a backlash that is not good
00:30:25
but that is between me and them
00:30:27
personally when CNN comes and Fox News
00:30:29
comes I will not jump on their side and
00:30:32
point fingers at my brothers and sisters
00:30:33
no I will defend their right to do so
00:30:36
and I will say to CNN and fox who are
00:30:38
you to criticize when you have far more
00:30:41
bigger crimes that you have to answer
00:30:42
for you have no right to get involved in
00:30:45
metal and local Affairs would you like
00:30:47
it if they started pointing fingers at
00:30:48
you and they started saying things about
00:30:51
your industry and again so much can be
00:30:53
said here the filth of this land imagine
00:30:55
if the power was reversed imagine if
00:30:58
that country had superpowers if that
00:31:00
country had the media if that country
00:31:02
was invading this country and constantly
00:31:05
in the media they're talking about I'm
00:31:07
sorry to be blunt here the pornography
00:31:08
of America the only fans of America the
00:31:10
filth of this country they're constantly
00:31:12
saying look at these innocent ladies how
00:31:14
they're being misused and abused
00:31:15
19-year-old girls and they're being
00:31:17
abused by these filthy men and they
00:31:19
constantly constantly do this and
00:31:21
they're attacking this L and they're
00:31:22
throwing bombs on it would you like this
00:31:24
to be to be completely switched around
00:31:26
and if that that were to be switch
00:31:28
around it would make more sense cuz we

00:31:46
against our brothers even as we advise
