How To Learn Anything 10x Faster Than Anyone With AI
Résumé
TLDRIn this video, the speaker critiques traditional learning methods, highlighting the issue of passive information consumption that leads to minimal retention. They propose active learning through project-based approaches that involve outlining projects and learning only what is necessary to advance those projects. The importance of setting clear goals and using AI for assistance is emphasized. Techniques such as the Protégé Effect, where teaching others enhances one’s own understanding, and the Feynman Technique, which involves simplifying concepts for better retention, are introduced. The speaker suggests regular writing as a means to reflect on learning and to engage a community in that learning process. The video combines theoretical insights with practical advice and encourages viewers to take charge of their learning effectively.

Chronologie
- 00:00:00 - 00:05:00
Many people struggle with effective learning due to information overload from various sources, leading to little retention. It's emphasized that learning should lead to practical application to avoid mental fatigue. This video introduces faster and more efficient learning methods, focusing on the protégé effect, pattern recognition, harnessing AI, and project-based learning to solidify knowledge.
- 00:05:00 - 00:10:00
Before diving into learning, it's crucial to outline a project that aligns with one's life goals. Without a clear purpose, learning can feel directionless and unenjoyable. The importance of identifying personal aspirations and how to connect desired skills to those goals is underscored as foundational for effective learning.
- 00:10:00 - 00:15:00
Clarifying what you want and don't want from life helps shape your learning objectives. By creating a life plan, one can tailor their learning journey more specifically, enhancing motivation and engagement while learning. This personal connection to learning can foster greater enjoyment and focus in the learning process.
- 00:15:00 - 00:20:00
The method of project-based learning is emphasized—using real-world projects allows one to learn precisely what they need when faced with challenges. This contrasts with the chaos of passive learning through endless tutorials. An effective project helps focus attention, retain information, and make genuine progress towards goals.
- 00:20:00 - 00:25:00
The process of starting a project involves brainstorming and outlining important milestones. You need to find sources of inspiration, understand their structures, and apply similar principles to your project. Engaging directly with a project leads to better learning outcomes through motivation and applicable challenges.
- 00:25:00 - 00:32:04
Finally, the importance of reflection and sharing knowledge through writing is highlighted as a tool for systematic learning. Engagement with others and teaching concepts can reinforce understanding while also building an audience. Writing serves not just to educate others but also to cement one's own learning, revealing knowledge gaps that require further exploration.

"The Crappy Cliff" | Inanimate Insanity S1E1 (Remastered)
- 00:00:00most people don't know how to learn
- 00:00:01because they fry their brain with
- 00:00:03podcasts and YouTube videos and books
- 00:00:05and textbooks and social media and 6
- 00:00:08months later after learning so much they
- 00:00:11have nothing to show for it why are you
- 00:00:13even learning in the first place if not
- 00:00:16to do something with it learning for
- 00:00:18most people has become a form of mental
- 00:00:20masturbation it's the same cheap
- 00:00:22dopamine you get from scrolling on your
- 00:00:24phone but even worse because it makes
- 00:00:26you feel as if you're learning something
- 00:00:28but the reality is you'll forget about
- 00:00:30it by tomorrow now here's the harsh
- 00:00:32truth you're learning slow and if you
- 00:00:34can learn 10 times faster you can
- 00:00:37achieve success faster you can complete
- 00:00:40the portfolio project you can start the
- 00:00:42business you can articulate your
- 00:00:43thoughts in your writing or whatever it
- 00:00:45is that you're learning even further
- 00:00:47it's my belief that most people are just
- 00:00:49wasting time you can probably learn what
- 00:00:51you need to learn within 2 weeks when
- 00:00:54most people take 6 months to learn that
- 00:00:56one thing so to do that you need to
- 00:00:58learn how to learn and that's what we're
- 00:01:01going to talk about in this video we're
- 00:01:02going to cover these topics the protoge
- 00:01:04effect andan technique how to optimize
- 00:01:07for pattern recognition which is very
- 00:01:09important how to use AI to speed up the
- 00:01:11process and Project based learning so
- 00:01:14you actually do something and you
- 00:01:16solidify the knowledge so this is going
- 00:01:18to be a very practical video my other
- 00:01:20ones are more philosophical more
- 00:01:21abstract this is just like straight
- 00:01:24here's how you learn so please be ready
- 00:01:26to take out your notes cuz we're going
- 00:01:28to go over practical examples with
- 00:01:30screen recordings and everything and by
- 00:01:31the end of this you should have a clear
- 00:01:34path to learning any skill that matters
- 00:01:37fast so let's start with this previous
- 00:01:40tweet of mine when I want to learn
- 00:01:41something new I don't start learning
- 00:01:43first I outline a project first then I
- 00:01:46learn exactly what I need and build out
- 00:01:49the project while learning I found that
- 00:01:51this solidifies teachings into my brain
- 00:01:53much faster the mark of a free person is
- 00:01:55that they learn how to learn that is the
- 00:01:58meta skill that is the skill of all
- 00:02:00skills is if you're in order to pick up
- 00:02:03a skill that changes your life you need
- 00:02:06to know how to learn that skill
- 00:02:08effectively so that you can use it
- 00:02:09because if you don't choose what to
- 00:02:11learn you will be told what to learn and
- 00:02:13if your mind is the operating system for
- 00:02:15reality the options available for your
- 00:02:17future will be drastically limited and
- 00:02:19you won't even realize it more
- 00:02:21importantly the most important thing you
- 00:02:23can do when the world is rapidly
- 00:02:25changing like it is with technology and
- 00:02:28AI is learn learn learning is the single
- 00:02:31most important skill because it allows
- 00:02:33you to learn the skills that can't be
- 00:02:36taught in schools cuz the schools are
- 00:02:38they're just this big system this big
- 00:02:40maybe outdated system that take a long
- 00:02:43time to catch up with the times changing
- 00:02:45a curriculum is a lot slower than
- 00:02:48someone who learns the topic fast makes
- 00:02:50a YouTube video on it for you to learn
- 00:02:52even faster and if you can keep up with
- 00:02:55that if you can keep up and adapt with
- 00:02:57the latest skills that are coming in
- 00:02:58adding them to your tool belt you can do
- 00:03:00some incredible things so the first step
- 00:03:03to learning how to learn is to create a
- 00:03:05map of your ideal life because I've
- 00:03:08watched countless tutorials not only
- 00:03:10researching for this video but learning
- 00:03:12how to learn myself in the past I've
- 00:03:14watched countless videos listen to
- 00:03:15countless podcasts of people teaching
- 00:03:17how to study or learn it seems like the
- 00:03:19missing piece is that they just don't go
- 00:03:22over why you're learning in the first
- 00:03:24place people choose something to learn
- 00:03:26but it doesn't connect to any of their
- 00:03:28current skills and doesn't connect to
- 00:03:30the life they want to live this is
- 00:03:32dangerous you won't want to learn if
- 00:03:35there is no deeper meaning or Clarity
- 00:03:37behind it you will need more discipline
- 00:03:39and you'll probably continue to hate
- 00:03:40learning like you did in school or
- 00:03:42you'll feel like your learning is for
- 00:03:44the sole purpose of getting a job or
- 00:03:45career that you didn't care about in the
- 00:03:47first place so that's step one to create
- 00:03:50an aim for your learning that way you
- 00:03:52can feel the progress you are making
- 00:03:54toward your self-generated goals not the
- 00:03:56goals Society assigned to you that is a
- 00:03:58major Key of Life enjoyment and I'll
- 00:04:00spare you the psychology around that
- 00:04:02that go read the book flow by Mii chiet
- 00:04:04me high and you'll understand what I'm
- 00:04:05saying here if you don't enjoy what
- 00:04:07you're learning and you just feel like
- 00:04:09you're learning to do something that was
- 00:04:11expected of you since you were a kid
- 00:04:13that your parents wanted for you or that
- 00:04:15Society wanted for you you're not going
- 00:04:17to enjoy it and that alone is going to
- 00:04:21hurt how much you learn people who enjoy
- 00:04:24learning something can be so much better
- 00:04:26at people who are just innately smart so
- 00:04:28we're going to do something very fun
- 00:04:30here to create an aim for your future
- 00:04:33we're just going to map this out you
- 00:04:34don't have to do this inside of Cortex
- 00:04:36but there is a template available for
- 00:04:38you to download to fill these things out
- 00:04:40now this is going to get extremely fun
- 00:04:43with the AI prompt we have and so many
- 00:04:46people have enjoyed using this prompt
- 00:04:47because you you'll see what I mean but
- 00:04:50first you're going to dissect your day
- 00:04:52your current what you do every single
- 00:04:54day so these are just examples for me
- 00:04:56but in the morning you break down the
- 00:04:58activities you do and how you feel while
- 00:05:01you're doing this that part isn't too
- 00:05:03important you can honestly just delete
- 00:05:05this section if you want to the
- 00:05:07important section is here so what do you
- 00:05:10not want out of life and what do you
- 00:05:13want out of life so you should get more
- 00:05:16specific than I do here or else the AI
- 00:05:19prompt is going to yell at you to get
- 00:05:20more specific we've talked about vision
- 00:05:22and anti- vision many times in many
- 00:05:24videos now you're going to break it down
- 00:05:27you're going to gain Clarity because a
- 00:05:29higher Ary of goals frames your mind for
- 00:05:32what you are going to learn if you don't
- 00:05:34have these things written down when you
- 00:05:37go to learn something you aren't going
- 00:05:39to know how to apply it to your goals
- 00:05:43because you don't have goals you just
- 00:05:44have the goal of going to school getting
- 00:05:46a job so the only thing your mind is
- 00:05:48trying to pick up as information fuels
- 00:05:52that goal so generate your own goals
- 00:05:55here what skills and knowledge you need
- 00:05:57to acquire in order to achieve them
- 00:05:59which will also help shape your learning
- 00:06:01and what you decide to learn and then
- 00:06:04are there distractions standing in the
- 00:06:05way now you can go even further so each
- 00:06:08week what I would recommend doing is
- 00:06:11duplicating this specific part so what
- 00:06:15went well last week what didn't go well
- 00:06:17you can write down gratitude goals for
- 00:06:19this week uh different connections
- 00:06:22inside of your workspace if you want to
- 00:06:24and then every day you can write out
- 00:06:26your tasks and I can duplicate this as
- 00:06:28well change this to Tuesday so on and so
- 00:06:31forth so when you have your plan your
- 00:06:34life plan you can rename this template
- 00:06:36to my life plan but if we go over to
- 00:06:40chats what I can do is create a new chat
- 00:06:43and we're going to use this document
- 00:06:47you'll see how but we're also going to
- 00:06:49go to my prompts you can also find a
- 00:06:52link to this in the description and
- 00:06:54we're going to go to the Strategic
- 00:06:56advisor prompt here and what this says
- 00:07:00is so cool it's act as my personal
- 00:07:02strategic advisor with the following
- 00:07:03context you have an IQ of 180 you're
- 00:07:06brutally honest and direct you built
- 00:07:07multiple billion dollar companies you
- 00:07:09have deep expertise in Psychology
- 00:07:10strategy and execution etc etc your
- 00:07:13mission is to identify the critical gaps
- 00:07:15holding me back design specific action
- 00:07:17plans to close those gaps push me beyond
- 00:07:20my comfort zone etc for each response
- 00:07:23start with the hard truth I need to hear
- 00:07:25follow a specific actionable steps end
- 00:07:27with a direct challeng or assignment now
- 00:07:30this is important because your strategic
- 00:07:32advisor here is going to identify blind
- 00:07:34spots and you can just talk to it the
- 00:07:36entire time as you're learning things
- 00:07:38with the prompts we're also going to
- 00:07:39talk about later in this video for
- 00:07:41creating something like a study guide
- 00:07:43for the skill you're trying to learn so
- 00:07:45I do have to mention that this was found
- 00:07:47from a pollinator 3000 on Twitter uh
- 00:07:51it's just a really good prompt I really
- 00:07:53enjoy it so we're going to take this
- 00:07:56we're going to copy dang it I can't copy
- 00:07:59stuff okay command C we're going to
- 00:08:02press tab to toggle on Kai which is new
- 00:08:05cortex AI pretty cool but again you can
- 00:08:07copy paste this into chat GPT whatever
- 00:08:09I'm just showing it here because it's my
- 00:08:11software right but we're going to enter
- 00:08:14this and it's going to respond when it's
- 00:08:17ready and it says okay I'm ready and I'm
- 00:08:20going to say I want you to review at my
- 00:08:26life
- 00:08:27plan and help me achieve my goals what
- 00:08:32do I need to do it's going to go over
- 00:08:37it and it just rips you
- 00:08:40apart now this is pretty long I'm not
- 00:08:42going to read this entire thing uh but
- 00:08:44this life plan is a scattered collection
- 00:08:46of thoughts not a strategic road map
- 00:08:49prioritize ruthlessly with the action
- 00:08:51rewrite your goals identify your
- 00:08:53bottleneck systematize your health in
- 00:08:56relationships eliminate distractions
- 00:08:58Focus projects by tomorrow rewrite your
- 00:09:02life plan with the following one primary
- 00:09:04goal revise secondary goals clear Define
- 00:09:07smart goals identification of your
- 00:09:10bottleneck a list of focused projects
- 00:09:13don't come back until you've done the
- 00:09:14work and then you can just keep talking
- 00:09:16to this as we go so that was step one so
- 00:09:19after you have your life plan your aim
- 00:09:20your frame for learning that's important
- 00:09:23that optimizes pattern recognition to an
- 00:09:25extent so you can notice the right
- 00:09:27information so you aren't learning the
- 00:09:29wrong thing step two is to outline a
- 00:09:32project listen to this carefully the
- 00:09:34best way to learn is to build a real
- 00:09:36world project and only search for
- 00:09:39information when you need it how much
- 00:09:41you learn is directly correlated with
- 00:09:43how much progress you make on the
- 00:09:45project when you watch endless tutorials
- 00:09:47you fill your mind with noise and Chaos
- 00:09:49most of that information goes to waste
- 00:09:51it leads to overwhelm anxiety and slows
- 00:09:53down how fast you learn when it comes
- 00:09:55time to build the project the only
- 00:09:57reason you're learning in the first
- 00:09:58place you feel as if you learned nothing
- 00:10:01and have to search for the information
- 00:10:02anyway so if you want to learn faster
- 00:10:04skip the tutorial phase outline the
- 00:10:07project first and now you don't
- 00:10:08necessarily need to skip the tutorial
- 00:10:10phase you just need to start the project
- 00:10:13and hit that struggling point and then
- 00:10:15when you go into the tutorial phase you
- 00:10:18you actually pick up the information now
- 00:10:20when I say outline a project or create a
- 00:10:22project this tends to confuse some
- 00:10:24people a project can be anything your
- 00:10:27health can be a project your body body
- 00:10:29can be a project your relationship can
- 00:10:31be a project your business can be a
- 00:10:33project an image in Photoshop can be a
- 00:10:35project a website for your portfolio can
- 00:10:38be a project a project is simply a
- 00:10:40structured way of achieving a goal or
- 00:10:43making progress toward a goal it's a way
- 00:10:44to further narrow your frame of
- 00:10:46reference so your mind biases the right
- 00:10:48information as you learn and again this
- 00:10:50continues to optimize pattern
- 00:10:52recognition as you read books study
- 00:10:54tutorials or have conversations good
- 00:10:56dopamine will spurt into your brain to
- 00:10:58signal that information is important for
- 00:11:00the completion of the project your
- 00:11:02subconscious will munch on problems and
- 00:11:04send relevant ideas to your conscious
- 00:11:06mind this is what creatives call shower
- 00:11:08thoughts it's when the default mode
- 00:11:10network is active in your brain while at
- 00:11:12quote unquote rest think of when you're
- 00:11:14on a walk or even more prevalent for
- 00:11:17most people is when you're about to fall
- 00:11:18asleep late at night and you're working
- 00:11:20on a project and idea ideas keep you up
- 00:11:23and you can't stop typing them into your
- 00:11:24phone if you haven't experienced that
- 00:11:26yeah it sucks to not be able to sleep
- 00:11:28but it feels so good because that's when
- 00:11:30the ideas come the most when you're not
- 00:11:32focused on work when your brain isn't in
- 00:11:35that task positive Network Charles
- 00:11:37Darwin as an example worked on his
- 00:11:39projects in focused blocks then went on
- 00:11:42long walks on these walks his brain was
- 00:11:44at rest and potential solutions to
- 00:11:46problems pop into his head when I write
- 00:11:48newsletters as a small project within a
- 00:11:50bigger project of my business I outline
- 00:11:53the newsletter at the start of the week
- 00:11:55I don't just write my newsletters Allin
- 00:11:57one go this is a weekly process process
- 00:11:59the outline creates my frame of
- 00:12:01reference I outline it and then as I'm
- 00:12:04writing it day by day slowly and going
- 00:12:06on walks and listening to stuff and
- 00:12:08researching for the newsletter or a book
- 00:12:10or whatever it is then novel ideas come
- 00:12:13to my mind that I can use to write if I
- 00:12:16were to just sit down and try to spit
- 00:12:18out what's in my brain Allin one go it
- 00:12:20could be good but I'm not necessarily
- 00:12:22learning anything or doing anything
- 00:12:23unique so when you have a project
- 00:12:25outline if you do it in cortex you can
- 00:12:28just open up your phone mobile apps
- 00:12:29coming soon which is awesome and you can
- 00:12:30type at or plus to connect to that
- 00:12:33specific document that you're creating
- 00:12:34the outline in and you can just save
- 00:12:36ideas there you can save ideas without
- 00:12:38having AI respond to you then they're
- 00:12:41right there when you sit down to fill
- 00:12:44out the outline of your project and you
- 00:12:45can also just talk to Kai and be like
- 00:12:47okay how do I do this part how do I do
- 00:12:49this part so here's how you start a
- 00:12:51project choose something to build that
- 00:12:53moves the needle toward what you want in
- 00:12:55life from earlier create a note or
- 00:12:57document and brain dump everything that
- 00:12:59comes to mind save three to five sources
- 00:13:01of inspiration that you want to emulate
- 00:13:04so if I'm creating a YouTube video as a
- 00:13:06project I would save three to five
- 00:13:07YouTube videos I would want to create
- 00:13:09similar iterations of this part is so
- 00:13:11important even when you're creating
- 00:13:12Photoshop or art or something like that
- 00:13:15as a beginner or tweets or writing
- 00:13:16anything a book a a a course whatever it
- 00:13:20may be you start by pulling certain
- 00:13:23parts of those things into your own
- 00:13:26project so you're not necessarily
- 00:13:27starting from scratch you're just just
- 00:13:29not starting with a tutorial you're
- 00:13:31trying to imitate intelligent imitation
- 00:13:34you're trying to pull from multiple
- 00:13:36sources to create your own thing and
- 00:13:38then as you go and hit sticking points
- 00:13:40that's when you learn best now with this
- 00:13:42you want to study those sources and
- 00:13:44break down their structure or
- 00:13:46characteristics then outline the project
- 00:13:48into sections Milestones images
- 00:13:51inspiration and what you need to know in
- 00:13:53order to complete it and then of course
- 00:13:55have a place to capture ideas that come
- 00:13:57to mind preferably somewhere you don't
- 00:13:59lose the ideas or forget about them you
- 00:14:01can do this in Apple notes or todoist or
- 00:14:04notion or any of those things now after
- 00:14:06outlining a project step three is to
- 00:14:09start with what you know because
- 00:14:11learning comes from struggle not
- 00:14:13memorization if you know nothing at
- 00:14:15least try to take the first step
- 00:14:17download the software and start playing
- 00:14:19around try to create something anything
- 00:14:21just get your mind in a state where it's
- 00:14:23hungry to learn otherwise you probably
- 00:14:26won't digest the information you search
- 00:14:28for then follow this process you start
- 00:14:31then you don't know what to do you try
- 00:14:33and fail you search for the answer or
- 00:14:35ask AI you try to implement the answer
- 00:14:38you repeat until the project is complete
- 00:14:40and if you can't find the answer you ask
- 00:14:42an expert so a few years ago Google
- 00:14:45searching was considered a skill being
- 00:14:47able to type the right things into
- 00:14:49Google to get the answer that you need
- 00:14:51or being able to search Reddit or stack
- 00:14:53Overflow if you're a programmer or
- 00:14:55things like that now that AI has all of
- 00:14:58that information prompt engineering is
- 00:15:00becoming the new Google search in a
- 00:15:02sense we're going to talk about AI as a
- 00:15:04skill in the next video and how to learn
- 00:15:07this prompt engineering that I'm talking
- 00:15:09about because it's one of the new modern
- 00:15:11skills that you can pair with any other
- 00:15:12skill to Future proof yourself to an
- 00:15:15extent because I believe it was the
- 00:15:16founder of Nvidia who said machines
- 00:15:19aren't going to replace people people
- 00:15:21using machines are going to replace
- 00:15:22people so if you learn how to use AI
- 00:15:25Beyond just typing a sentence into it
- 00:15:27you're setting yourself up quite well so
- 00:15:29as an example if I'm building a project
- 00:15:31or just an image in Photoshop and I get
- 00:15:33stuck right I start I don't know what to
- 00:15:35do I'm kind of just like trying out
- 00:15:37different tools and then I can't create
- 00:15:39it and let's say I want to remove a
- 00:15:41background from an image I know nothing
- 00:15:43about Photoshop right then I can just
- 00:15:45type into Kai or AI in general and say
- 00:15:48how do I remove the background of an
- 00:15:50image in Photoshop and it will give me a
- 00:15:51few different options that I can try
- 00:15:53then I succeed and because I'm
- 00:15:55struggling and my brain wanted to learn
- 00:15:57that thing it kind of locks it in into
- 00:15:59place a lot better and then you continue
- 00:16:01on with the project and you keep going
- 00:16:02so I can continue to ask more questions
- 00:16:04like what are Selections in masks in
- 00:16:06Photoshop how do I make a selection on
- 00:16:07this type of image I was doing this the
- 00:16:09other day where I was like in Premiere
- 00:16:11editing something and I didn't know how
- 00:16:12to do it so I pressed option C to open
- 00:16:14up like a floating AI Pane and I just
- 00:16:17asked really quick how do I get through
- 00:16:18this and then I got through it and I was
- 00:16:20able to edit a lot faster without having
- 00:16:22to go through 10 different articles on
- 00:16:23Google to find the answer so after
- 00:16:25starting step 3.5 is how to start when
- 00:16:29you don't feel like starting because
- 00:16:31that's a big problem for a lot of people
- 00:16:32is they just don't want to start so they
- 00:16:34never do the zynic effect is a
- 00:16:36psychological phenomenon where people
- 00:16:38remember unfinished tasks more than
- 00:16:40completed tasks meaning if we don't
- 00:16:42complete tasks for our projects it's
- 00:16:44much easier to find the motivation to
- 00:16:46get started but how did you get started
- 00:16:48from scratch so there's a trick here
- 00:16:50that I learned from Justin Sun who is
- 00:16:52another YouTuber who talks about
- 00:16:54learning and he calls this the zynic
- 00:16:56squared effect or the zaric effect
- 00:16:58squared either one in other words you
- 00:17:00want to kind of invoke the zynic effect
- 00:17:03by starting easy tasks before getting
- 00:17:06started on your project because if you
- 00:17:08start those tasks then they'll be
- 00:17:11unfinished and you'll want to continue
- 00:17:13working on them and they lead naturally
- 00:17:15into the task that you need to work on
- 00:17:17so this could be something like setting
- 00:17:19up your desk like literally coming and
- 00:17:21cleaning your desk or I make coffee in
- 00:17:23the morning and I come sit down or some
- 00:17:25kind of ritual or routine that allows
- 00:17:27you to just get into the thing when I
- 00:17:29don't want to write my newsletter I just
- 00:17:31go into the outline and I just promise
- 00:17:33myself that I'm going to start looking
- 00:17:35at it reading it uh typing up some ideas
- 00:17:38that come to mind and then eventually I
- 00:17:39hit something and I'm like okay I can
- 00:17:41keep writing this thing so you don't
- 00:17:43necessarily have to start doing what you
- 00:17:46were doing before you just have to kind
- 00:17:48of go into it start playing around a bit
- 00:17:50and then once you start doing something
- 00:17:52or mess with something you want to
- 00:17:53continue doing it so for something like
- 00:17:55going to the gym right if you're trying
- 00:17:57to learn Fitness maybe you just go and
- 00:18:00start walking on the treadmill there
- 00:18:01like you just say I'm going to go walk
- 00:18:02for 5 minutes and if I don't feel like
- 00:18:04it doing anything here I'm going to
- 00:18:05leave and most of the time you won't
- 00:18:07leave if you have Clarity on what you're
- 00:18:09doing remember hierarchy of goals you
- 00:18:10need to know what to do and if you don't
- 00:18:13know what to do then you need to study
- 00:18:15right bring AI to the gym and just be
- 00:18:18like hey what exercise should I do next
- 00:18:20in uh this chest workout routine okay so
- 00:18:23we're going to go back into the prompts
- 00:18:25again and we're going to find the study
- 00:18:27regimen prompt and we're going to take
- 00:18:29this and we're going to open a new chat
- 00:18:32you can rename these as well if you want
- 00:18:34to keep them organized I'm just showing
- 00:18:35you something you can name one strategic
- 00:18:37adviser like I have here that you can go
- 00:18:39back to and chat with when you need it
- 00:18:41you can go back to your discipline coach
- 00:18:42whenever you need to start the task and
- 00:18:44now your study regimen you're going to
- 00:18:46paste this in here and you're going to
- 00:18:47place replace this part the topic with
- 00:18:50whatever you want to learn so I'm going
- 00:18:52to say storytelling then we're going to
- 00:18:54send this here and I'll make this full
- 00:18:58screen so you can actually see it once
- 00:19:00it's done generating but what we have
- 00:19:03here close the prompt library is a
- 00:19:0660-day storytelling regimen according to
- 00:19:09the prompt so the prompt was to give me
- 00:19:11one bestselling book One technical book
- 00:19:13multiple YouTube videos three to five
- 00:19:15interest that complement the main topic
- 00:19:17that I can explore as supplementary
- 00:19:19education for fun because you don't
- 00:19:22always just want to learn this like go
- 00:19:24through this boring grind of learning
- 00:19:25the information you want to learn
- 00:19:26complimentary things that fill in the
- 00:19:28gaps of what you're learning now what
- 00:19:30you do here inside of this chat that you
- 00:19:32can rename to study partner is you're
- 00:19:35going to go through here and this is how
- 00:19:37you're going to learn and I've gone
- 00:19:39through this multiple times I've tested
- 00:19:40it it actually gives you good
- 00:19:43information and good books to go into so
- 00:19:46phase one is immersion and Foundations
- 00:19:48weeks one and two so you're going to
- 00:19:50read the book story style structure
- 00:19:53substance Etc why it's a Cornerstone
- 00:19:55text action steps read two to three
- 00:19:57chapters a day take notes on key
- 00:19:59Concepts and you can take notes either
- 00:20:01in this chat or in a document and
- 00:20:03connect it to it and ask it to quiz it
- 00:20:05on you you can say if you take notes
- 00:20:07inside of a document here you can say
- 00:20:10quiz me on at whatever the document is
- 00:20:14and it will take it into context and
- 00:20:16then also in that first phase the
- 00:20:18YouTube video you're going to watch is
- 00:20:19here Phase 2 technical application 3 to4
- 00:20:23phase 3 creative exploration where you
- 00:20:25can go through all of this phase 4
- 00:20:27refinement and practice this so on and
- 00:20:29so forth and it has action steps you can
- 00:20:31take to actually learn storytelling and
- 00:20:33it says okay let me know when you're
- 00:20:35ready to dive into the first phase or if
- 00:20:37you'd like to adjust any part of this
- 00:20:39let's just say let's dive into the first
- 00:20:42phase then it'll
- 00:20:44go all right it just breaks down the
- 00:20:47first phase that's awesome now I
- 00:20:49actually want to find this YouTube video
- 00:20:51here so I can show you how you could get
- 00:20:53personalized study help on that thing
- 00:20:56because with Kai you can talk to your
- 00:20:59highlights or other things inside of
- 00:21:01here and you can add YouTube videos with
- 00:21:02a link to pull the transcript in from
- 00:21:05them okay we're actually I'm going to
- 00:21:07give this as an example because I've
- 00:21:09actually listened to Brandon sanderson's
- 00:21:11lectures on writing Science Fiction and
- 00:21:13Fantasy because I want to personally
- 00:21:15write a fable so I'm going to turn Kai
- 00:21:17off just so I can save this in here but
- 00:21:20what this does is it adds this to my
- 00:21:22library so now I can access the
- 00:21:24transcript and it's right here so I can
- 00:21:26turn on Kai and I can say uh give me the
- 00:21:30key points of this video and I can even
- 00:21:33break it down and go deeper into the
- 00:21:37actual uh timestamps of that specific
- 00:21:40thing so if I listen to this video on a
- 00:21:41walk and I want to be quizzed on a
- 00:21:44specific timestamp related to it I'll
- 00:21:46just say can you quiz me on these key
- 00:21:52points and then I can go through here
- 00:21:54and ask questions I can answer the
- 00:21:56questions and then just get quizzed as
- 00:21:58my study partner so now we have three
- 00:22:01things inside of here we have the
- 00:22:02Strategic advisor we have the discipline
- 00:22:04coach and we have the study regimen so
- 00:22:06those three things combined while
- 00:22:08creating your project that you can
- 00:22:09oscillate between really enhance your
- 00:22:12learning now how do you actually
- 00:22:14structure how you learn because we only
- 00:22:16have so much time in a day the best way
- 00:22:19in my opinion to do this is in three
- 00:22:21different focused blocks the first is 30
- 00:22:25to 90 minutes of building so you build
- 00:22:27your project and search for information
- 00:22:28information when you need it the second
- 00:22:30is 30 to 60 minutes of learning so you
- 00:22:32follow your study regimen and take notes
- 00:22:34on what you learn and you can review
- 00:22:36these notes by asking your notes to be
- 00:22:38summarized in Kai that's actually one
- 00:22:39thing I forgot to show you here is that
- 00:22:42you can turn off Kai and you can capture
- 00:22:45your notes to this specific thing you
- 00:22:48can take all of your notes on a specific
- 00:22:50video or on the topic in here and then
- 00:22:53you can ask Kai to summarize what's in
- 00:22:56the chat because it takes the entire
- 00:22:58your chat into context now the last
- 00:23:00block is 30 minutes of walking this way
- 00:23:03you can listen to YouTube videos
- 00:23:04audiobooks or lectures so go on a walk
- 00:23:07and jot down ideas on your phone as they
- 00:23:09come to mind those are your Keystone
- 00:23:11habits that's when all of the learning
- 00:23:13happens and the thing here is that
- 00:23:15nobody is going to give you the time to
- 00:23:17learn and build what you want to learn
- 00:23:19and build you have to take the time put
- 00:23:21them on your calender wake up an hour
- 00:23:23earlier or stay up an hour later turn it
- 00:23:25into a ritual grab your coffee pull up
- 00:23:27your outline put on some focus music and
- 00:23:29start Paving the way toward the future
- 00:23:31you want to create so that's how you
- 00:23:32learn in a nutshell but we can take it
- 00:23:35even further with a few other Concepts
- 00:23:38and to do this we write to
- 00:23:40systematically reflect on what we learn
- 00:23:42so here's the puzzle you know what you
- 00:23:44want for your future you have a project
- 00:23:46or a series of projects that will take
- 00:23:47you there and you are learning and
- 00:23:49building daily but there's one missing
- 00:23:51piece and it turns out it's also a way
- 00:23:54to further enhance how much you learn
- 00:23:55the missing piece is people who care
- 00:23:57about what You're Building because I'm
- 00:23:59assuming that you want to do this
- 00:24:01full-time you're learning and building
- 00:24:03because you want that to turn into some
- 00:24:04kind of sustainable life you want to
- 00:24:06replace your job or career with a
- 00:24:09calling an obsession and to do that you
- 00:24:11need money at least enough to sustain
- 00:24:13your ideal life you don't need millions
- 00:24:15of dollars you just need enough to make
- 00:24:17money you need people to care about what
- 00:24:21you're building to make people care
- 00:24:22about what you're building you need to
- 00:24:24show what you're doing in public and in
- 00:24:26most cases the best way to do that is
- 00:24:28writing teaching what you know and what
- 00:24:31you're learning as you build if you want
- 00:24:33a master class in this go follow a Peter
- 00:24:36levels or levels.io on Twitter where
- 00:24:39he's just building out a game with AI
- 00:24:41right now and he's just doing it in
- 00:24:42public and he's adding features that his
- 00:24:44followers wanted and by doing this
- 00:24:46you're attracting people to what you
- 00:24:48build so that they one care about it and
- 00:24:50two you have an audience now that wants
- 00:24:53to support you now why writing first
- 00:24:56thing is that it's the foundation of
- 00:24:57media and two it's accessible and anyone
- 00:25:00can start writing right now no video
- 00:25:02editing skills required and three it
- 00:25:04holds much more power than just building
- 00:25:07an audience of supporters writing is how
- 00:25:09you systematically reflect on what you
- 00:25:11learn when you teach what you learn you
- 00:25:14expose more knowledge gaps you struggle
- 00:25:16more to understand you have more
- 00:25:18specific knowledge to research so this
- 00:25:20is where the Fineman technique and
- 00:25:22protoe effect come into play the Fineman
- 00:25:24technique is a learning method
- 00:25:26popularized by physicist Richard Fineman
- 00:25:28in short it's about deeply understanding
- 00:25:30a concept by explaining it in simple
- 00:25:32terms as if you were teaching it to
- 00:25:34someone with no prior knowledge so to do
- 00:25:36this you choose a concept so you select
- 00:25:38the topic you want to understand you
- 00:25:40teach it you explain the concept in
- 00:25:42simple language as if you were teaching
- 00:25:44it to a child and then you identify gaps
- 00:25:46so when you struggle to explain
- 00:25:48something clearly identify the areas
- 00:25:50where your understanding is weak last
- 00:25:52you review and simplify so go back to
- 00:25:54the source material or you're learning
- 00:25:56you relearn the concepts and then try
- 00:25:58explaining them again in even simpler
- 00:26:00terms now this overlaps with What's
- 00:26:02called the Protege effect which in short
- 00:26:04is the teacher learns more than the
- 00:26:06student teaching what you know or what
- 00:26:08you learn encourages you to make sense
- 00:26:10of it in your own way to finally string
- 00:26:13it together in your own mind so that you
- 00:26:15can that's learning and by doing this it
- 00:26:18exposes even more gaps in your knowledge
- 00:26:20because if I'm talking to a camera and
- 00:26:22then I watch back over it or I Stumble
- 00:26:24over my words right now I have something
- 00:26:26to improve I have something to learn
- 00:26:28more what this does is it increases the
- 00:26:31effect of pattern recognition life
- 00:26:33becomes more enjoyable and serendipitous
- 00:26:36because you notice more things in life
- 00:26:38that can help you achieve the projects
- 00:26:40or goals that you set your mind to you
- 00:26:41learn more just from living so how do we
- 00:26:45merge both of these with what you're
- 00:26:47already learning you do it by writing on
- 00:26:50the internet now we talk about this in
- 00:26:52quite a few videos quite a lot of them
- 00:26:54but I'm not talking about becoming a
- 00:26:56content creator I'm talking about
- 00:26:57treating social social media as your
- 00:26:59public Journal rather than a place to
- 00:27:01just distract yourself in that way you
- 00:27:03at least have a chance at attracting
- 00:27:05potential supporters customers employers
- 00:27:07investors team members and anything else
- 00:27:09you would need to reach the life you
- 00:27:11want this is why it's so powerful
- 00:27:13learning building writing to
- 00:27:16systematically reflect on your on what
- 00:27:18you learn in public so people value what
- 00:27:22you're learning and building and it just
- 00:27:23doubles down on the effect of learning
- 00:27:26it's less about building following and
- 00:27:29more about putting your work in front of
- 00:27:30other people like when you're trying to
- 00:27:32meet new people it's never going to
- 00:27:34happen if you don't get out of your
- 00:27:35house and you'll grow bitter and angry
- 00:27:38wondering why you're all alone it's
- 00:27:40obvious why because you haven't given
- 00:27:42people a chance to know or care about
- 00:27:44you your chances of success are zero so
- 00:27:47here's what I recommend for starting
- 00:27:49write a newsletter once a week to
- 00:27:51summarize what you've learned and
- 00:27:53remember teach it to them teach what
- 00:27:55you're learning this is how so many
- 00:27:56people start newsletters or social media
- 00:27:58is they just use it as a place to share
- 00:28:00what they're learning that week some
- 00:28:02people's bios on social media is are
- 00:28:04literally just sharing what I learn on
- 00:28:07the way to whatever the goal is sahil
- 00:28:09Bloom millions of followers on Twitter
- 00:28:11his bio for the longest time was like
- 00:28:13the exploring my curiosity and sharing
- 00:28:15what I learn along the way your bio
- 00:28:17doesn't matter here what matters is the
- 00:28:19content is it interesting are you
- 00:28:21teaching it literally start the
- 00:28:23newsletter or post go search on YouTube
- 00:28:25pay attention to these things as they
- 00:28:26pop up on your timeline so you can
- 00:28:28replicate them is like I learned about
- 00:28:30this insane concept this week it's
- 00:28:32called the zynic effect and it's the
- 00:28:35best way to overcome procrastination
- 00:28:37here's what you do share what you
- 00:28:38learned in this video share anything
- 00:28:41that you learn you give credit where
- 00:28:42credits due when it's needed but most of
- 00:28:44the time if you're just teaching a
- 00:28:46concept or something like that and
- 00:28:47weaving it in with your personal
- 00:28:48experience that that just helps your
- 00:28:50learning so much more the third thing is
- 00:28:52to just write posts on X threads or
- 00:28:54LinkedIn because these are just writing
- 00:28:56platforms you can do any platform but
- 00:28:57the these are writing platforms talk
- 00:28:59about your opinions beliefs personal
- 00:29:01experiences and what you are learning
- 00:29:03and building then tack on social media
- 00:29:06as a skill you need to learn the same
- 00:29:07way as taught in this video then add one
- 00:29:10more 30 to 60 Minute time block for
- 00:29:12writing every morning now if these time
- 00:29:13blocks are starting to add up you can
- 00:29:15split them across different days so you
- 00:29:17can learn on Monday build on Tuesday
- 00:29:20write on Wednesday and then walk on each
- 00:29:23of those days to soak in more
- 00:29:25information and then during all of this
- 00:29:27ask or AI in general or chat gbt or
- 00:29:30Claude to help you as you write so an
- 00:29:32example is you are an expert at crafting
- 00:29:35engaging social post what's the best way
- 00:29:37to start a post on this topic that I'm
- 00:29:40learning and continue from there so
- 00:29:42personally writing changed my life I was
- 00:29:44once a freelance web designer who failed
- 00:29:46at every business prior to that and I
- 00:29:49started on social media because I was
- 00:29:51tired of doing cold Outreach to land
- 00:29:53freelance clients and as I kept going I
- 00:29:56I realized the power of writing in in
- 00:29:58terms of getting in front of more people
- 00:30:00not only on social media but what about
- 00:30:01my landing pages right if I'm not doing
- 00:30:03cold emails and sending those things
- 00:30:06people are how are people getting to me
- 00:30:08right they're going to my profile
- 00:30:09they're reading some of my content
- 00:30:11they're going to my website my landing
- 00:30:13page whatever it may be and that way I
- 00:30:14didn't have to get rejected as much for
- 00:30:17reaching out to people cold I just
- 00:30:18shared what I knew and what I was
- 00:30:20learning in web design and what I was
- 00:30:22building you go and follow programmers
- 00:30:23or designers and they're just sharing
- 00:30:25their work and if that work is good they
- 00:30:28gain a following if it's not good then
- 00:30:30you have direct feedback if you aren't
- 00:30:32gaining a following then you can do
- 00:30:34better but for me with social media it
- 00:30:36wasn't just about the freelance work it
- 00:30:38was about how much I was learning every
- 00:30:40time I hit post it felt like I had
- 00:30:42learned something new like for the
- 00:30:44longest time when I was a kid I would
- 00:30:46just look up to people who were very
- 00:30:48articulate and knowledgeable about
- 00:30:49certain things and then whenever I would
- 00:30:51read something like a book and I thought
- 00:30:53it was really good but then I tried to
- 00:30:55explain it in my own words and I was
- 00:30:56like I I I can't do do this it's just
- 00:30:58not coming to mind I didn't actually
- 00:31:00learn the thing but as I started writing
- 00:31:02and like writing is Legos with ideas so
- 00:31:05when I'm piecing these things together
- 00:31:06and I'm able to kind of just play with
- 00:31:09the thoughts on screen then it makes it
- 00:31:11so much easier to learn because it's not
- 00:31:13just like I'm trying to do it on the
- 00:31:14spot as I'm speaking so the more that I
- 00:31:17wrote the more good things happened
- 00:31:19internally and externally so I hope that
- 00:31:22you can experience that as well that is
- 00:31:24it for this video I hope you learned how
- 00:31:27to learn I hope hope you go on to
- 00:31:28continue learning if you want something
