Chronologie
- 00:00:00 - 00:05:00
The video discusses the nature of intelligence, emphasizing that it goes beyond traditional book smarts and cognitive tasks. Instead, intelligence should be viewed as the ability to achieve one's desires in life, drawing upon a wider understanding of psychological development stages.
- 00:05:00 - 00:10:00
High IQ individuals often find themselves stuck in lower stages of development, despite their cognitive abilities. These people can struggle with creating fulfilling lives and may feel disconnected, unhealthy, or angry, revealing that intelligence encompasses more than just IQ results.
- 00:10:00 - 00:15:00
To improve one's intelligence, a commitment to intentional practice is necessary. Developing intelligence and emotional well-being involves actively setting goals, learning, and applying knowledge consistently over time.
- 00:15:00 - 00:20:00
The concept of cybernetics is introduced as a framework for understanding intelligence. It positions intelligence as the capacity to steer oneself towards goals by iterating through trial and error to achieve desired outcomes.
- 00:20:00 - 00:25:00
Recognizing the importance of having a clear goal is essential. Goals shape our actions, perspectives, and ultimately dictate the process we undertake to achieve success. The journey towards one's aspirations should be informed by ongoing feedback and adaptations.
- 00:25:00 - 00:30:00
The video outlines that goals aren’t just practical; they’re deeply spiritual. Setting meaningful goals aligned with one’s identity fosters connection to a larger purpose, driving motivation and resilience against challenges encountered along the way.
- 00:30:00 - 00:35:00
Awareness of one’s identity and purpose is crucial. Without specific goals, individuals may fail to recognize and address problems in their lives, leading to a cycle of stagnation and mediocrity instead of growth and fulfillment.
- 00:35:00 - 00:40:00
The stages of psychological development are explored, highlighting the movement from lower to higher stages of consciousness. Each stage presents different perspectives and challenges that inform one's intelligence and ability to navigate life effectively.
- 00:40:00 - 00:48:08
The video concludes by emphasizing that achieving true intelligence requires a lifetime of commitment to personal growth and understanding. By integrating perspectives from various stages of development, one can attain a more complete and holistic understanding of reality.

Old Testament Summary: A Complete Animated Overview
- 00:00:00the only real test of intelligence is if
- 00:00:02you get what you want out of
- 00:00:05[Music]
- 00:00:07life there is a science to intelligence
- 00:00:10but most people get it wrong because
- 00:00:12they think intelligence is about book
- 00:00:14smarts and Performing cognitive tasks
- 00:00:16and while those play a major role in
- 00:00:18success of course there is much more to
- 00:00:20the story people who score well on IQ
- 00:00:23tests usually land in the conventional
- 00:00:26stages of psychological development
- 00:00:28which we're going to go over all nine
- 00:00:30stages at the end of this video but
- 00:00:33little do they realize because lower
- 00:00:35stages can't understand higher stages
- 00:00:37you can think of a higher stage as a
- 00:00:39point of view so from a higher point of
- 00:00:41view you can view everything below but
- 00:00:44if you were at the lower point of view
- 00:00:45let's say the bottom of the mountain you
- 00:00:47can't see the same view as the top of
- 00:00:49the mountain so the high IQ people who
- 00:00:51are at this lower stage we're using
- 00:00:54lower and higher they're not bad or
- 00:00:56Worse they're just lower and higher it's
- 00:00:58a distinction the low lower stages are
- 00:01:01still in the bottom 80% of quote unquote
- 00:01:05intelligence but the thing with these
- 00:01:06people that score high on IQ tests or
- 00:01:08just very smart people all around is
- 00:01:11that they are still like most of the
- 00:01:14population where they are broke
- 00:01:16unhealthy and angry at the world and
- 00:01:19especially they are lonely because very
- 00:01:22few people can match their intellectual
- 00:01:24capabilities they can think through
- 00:01:26complex problems but they can't solve
- 00:01:28the bigger more holistic problem of
- 00:01:31creating a rich life Chris Langan the
- 00:01:34man with the highest IQ says most high
- 00:01:36IQ people have the magnification but not
- 00:01:39the aperture in other words and as we
- 00:01:41will learn having a high IQ is not the
- 00:01:43be all and all of intelligence if your
- 00:01:46mind is a camera there is more than the
- 00:01:48ability to zoom in so now if you want to
- 00:01:51achieve the articulation of Jordan
- 00:01:53Peterson or the thinking ability of Alan
- 00:01:57Watts give yourself to the end of this
- 00:01:59video because it will make sense how
- 00:02:01they have achieved that articulation and
- 00:02:03thinking the other thing is that you
- 00:02:05have to commit to this you you aren't
- 00:02:07just going to watch this video and see
- 00:02:09five jumps and stages it takes years to
- 00:02:12get through the stages of development so
- 00:02:13you have to have some kind of practice
- 00:02:16you need to study an hour a day you need
- 00:02:18to build something and apply what you
- 00:02:20learn and that isn't much to ask to
- 00:02:23develop a trait like intelligence which
- 00:02:25determines much of the enjoyment and
- 00:02:27success in your life the ability to
- 00:02:30navigate your mental health the ability
- 00:02:31to make as much money as you want the
- 00:02:33ability to understand reality and get
- 00:02:36what you want out of it that's what
- 00:02:38we're going to learn intelligence can't
- 00:02:40be summarized in a 1 to 5 minute YouTube
- 00:02:43video so if you aren't here to watch
- 00:02:45something that is long and indepth
- 00:02:47please go and get your cheap dopamine
- 00:02:49hit somewhere else but if you stick it
- 00:02:51out and you stay with this video it will
- 00:02:53radically change the direction of your
- 00:02:55life I can promise that for most of you
- 00:02:57watching this we have a lot of good
- 00:02:59stuff to talk about where do we start
- 00:03:01the definition of insanity is doing the
- 00:03:04same thing over and over and expecting a
- 00:03:06different result we've all heard that
- 00:03:08quote before from Einstein if he
- 00:03:10actually said it Einstein is notorious
- 00:03:12for having quotes assigned to him as if
- 00:03:14he said them but either way that doesn't
- 00:03:16take that doesn't take away from how
- 00:03:19smart and revolutionary of an individual
- 00:03:21he was so if Einstein said that that's
- 00:03:24the quote we're going to talk about
- 00:03:25because it reflects cybernetics we need
- 00:03:27to talk about cybernetics cyber comes
- 00:03:30from the Greek word kynos or kuber
- 00:03:33nticos which means to steer or good at
- 00:03:36steering in other words cybernetics
- 00:03:38illustrates the properties of an
- 00:03:40intelligent system it measures the
- 00:03:42intelligence of a system so to start out
- 00:03:45we can consider intelligence from one
- 00:03:47perspective from the cybernetics
- 00:03:49perspective as your ability to steer or
- 00:03:52correct your steering toward a goal and
- 00:03:54cybernetics is also known as The Art of
- 00:03:57Getting what you want so if the first
- 00:04:00quote that we talked about at the very
- 00:04:01beginning of this video from nval that
- 00:04:03intelligence is your ability to get what
- 00:04:05you want out of life if you understand
- 00:04:07that then you understand that
- 00:04:09cybernetics is the science or the way
- 00:04:12that you can study in order to do that
- 00:04:14so here is this graphic of a boat
- 00:04:17steering right and steering left to get
- 00:04:20to the lighthouse cybernetics is pretty
- 00:04:23much to have a goal to act toward that
- 00:04:25goal to sense where you are to compare
- 00:04:29to the the goal and act again based on
- 00:04:31that feedback so it is listening to the
- 00:04:34feedback mechanism of making mistakes or
- 00:04:37just getting blown off course Say by
- 00:04:39life so if cybernetics illustrates the
- 00:04:41properties of intelligent systems and
- 00:04:43your mind is a system that houses many
- 00:04:47complex systems your mind is the meta
- 00:04:49system from which you operate and act
- 00:04:53within life it's the operating system
- 00:04:55for life then by having a goal acting
- 00:04:57toward it noticing okay I'm over here
- 00:05:01and this is where the goal is what can I
- 00:05:03do to start to get toward the goal
- 00:05:04rather than continue going in the wrong
- 00:05:06direction like most people are in life
- 00:05:08and they just don't have the awareness
- 00:05:09like oh I need to get towards the goal
- 00:05:11they don't pay attention to that they
- 00:05:12set the goal and then they head off in
- 00:05:14One Direction and then they either quit
- 00:05:16or they end up in this trap that they
- 00:05:18can't get out of that is unintelligent
- 00:05:20you can judge intelligence based on the
- 00:05:22system's ability to iterate and persist
- 00:05:24with trial and error a ship blown off
- 00:05:26course that corrects towards its
- 00:05:27destination a thermostat sens a change
- 00:05:30in heat and turning on the pancreas
- 00:05:32excreting insulin after blood glucose
- 00:05:35spikes cybernetics is a frame it's a
- 00:05:37worldview it's a perspective that you
- 00:05:39can adopt to understand quite a bit of
- 00:05:42the world so what does this have to do
- 00:05:44with getting what you want out of life
- 00:05:46everything acting sensing comparing and
- 00:05:49understanding the system from a meta
- 00:05:51perspective is fundamental to high
- 00:05:53intelligence High Intelligence is the
- 00:05:55ability to iterate persist and
- 00:05:57understand the big picture the mark of
- 00:05:59low low intelligence is the inability to
- 00:06:01learn from your mistakes low
- 00:06:04intelligence people get stuck on
- 00:06:05problems rather than solving them they
- 00:06:07hit a roadblock and quit like a writer
- 00:06:09who fails to build a readership and
- 00:06:11quits because they lack the ability to
- 00:06:13try new things experiment and figure out
- 00:06:15a process that works for them to think
- 00:06:17that there isn't an effective process
- 00:06:20you can create is verifiably false no
- 00:06:22matter you're limiting beliefs hence
- 00:06:24being low intelligence in other words
- 00:06:27there is a path to achieving your goals
- 00:06:29you just aren't aware of it you haven't
- 00:06:30done the thing you haven't taken the
- 00:06:32step that reveals the next step and then
- 00:06:34the next step and then the next step and
- 00:06:35when you take the wrong step you don't
- 00:06:37have the awareness that you did take the
- 00:06:38wrong steps so you can course correct
- 00:06:40and if you can't achieve a goal or you
- 00:06:43just realize that the goal or vision for
- 00:06:45your life was wrong in the first place
- 00:06:46then you iterate and you pivot rather
- 00:06:49than quitting if you start a business
- 00:06:51and realize that you didn't want to be
- 00:06:52in that business in the first place then
- 00:06:54change it so if you want to become more
- 00:06:56intelligent start with the goal you're
- 00:06:59pursuing doing goals are what determine
- 00:07:01the system in other words the
- 00:07:03destination is what determines the
- 00:07:05journey the goal and destination are
- 00:07:07vastly more important than the system or
- 00:07:10Journey because they create it sure you
- 00:07:12can argue that the end of a Melody isn't
- 00:07:15its goal as n would say but the goal of
- 00:07:18the artist was to create the melody
- 00:07:20anything you do from watching this video
- 00:07:22to moving your eye a fraction of a
- 00:07:24centimeter to taking one step forward to
- 00:07:26scratching your nose to building a
- 00:07:28billion- dooll business is the act of
- 00:07:30pursuing a goal creating the melody or
- 00:07:32Journey or process in its path the
- 00:07:35destination is a point of view that
- 00:07:38allows you to appreciate the journey in
- 00:07:40other words do you ever notice that
- 00:07:43people say it's all about the process or
- 00:07:45the process is the only thing that
- 00:07:46matters after they've achieved the goal
- 00:07:49after they have the perspective you
- 00:07:51aren't you usually aren't sitting in the
- 00:07:53suffering that the process is that life
- 00:07:56is thinking oh this is great you can
- 00:07:58have gratitude for it but if you don't
- 00:08:00achieve the goal you're just stuck in
- 00:08:02this Perpetual Loop of suffering and
- 00:08:04that's just the thing you rarely enjoy
- 00:08:07the process until you reach the goal and
- 00:08:10that's okay that's how it's supposed to
- 00:08:12be that's that's reality pushing you
- 00:08:15toward achieving the goal you're not
- 00:08:17supposed to enjoy everything you need a
- 00:08:19bit of suffering to appreciate the
- 00:08:21periods of Peace if you were happy all
- 00:08:23the time it would become normal to you
- 00:08:25happiness would stop making sense all
- 00:08:27true happiness stems from a perspective
- 00:08:29of previous sadness in other words the
- 00:08:32journey and the destination are
- 00:08:34inseparable now I talk about goals a lot
- 00:08:37in the importance of goals like I am in
- 00:08:39this video and I have in some of my best
- 00:08:41performing videos about my daily routine
- 00:08:43but I'm not talking about goals from
- 00:08:46your typical self-help lens of oh you
- 00:08:47need to set a goal for the sake of
- 00:08:49productivity and this and that I'm
- 00:08:51talking about it from a
- 00:08:55teologicos in reality and a purpose is a
- 00:08:58goal what what I'm trying to say is that
- 00:09:01everything is a part of a greater whole
- 00:09:04and if you lose that connection you lose
- 00:09:06a lot of meaning in your life
- 00:09:08spirituality is connection to something
- 00:09:11greater than yourself so if you don't
- 00:09:12have a goal or a purpose that is
- 00:09:14Meaningful and chosen by you in
- 00:09:17alignment with reality and you making
- 00:09:20mistakes and correcting those mistakes
- 00:09:22because reality will not tolerate those
- 00:09:25mistakes you will feel the pain so
- 00:09:26correcting from your pain is what allows
- 00:09:28you to live in alignment and with
- 00:09:30meaning so goals in this sense that
- 00:09:33people think are very practical are not
- 00:09:35anti-spiritual they are spirituality you
- 00:09:38can think of goals from the self-help
- 00:09:40lens as finite games which is get this
- 00:09:43much money go to school get a job do
- 00:09:45this purpose or goals from theological
- 00:09:48lens is that you are a part of a greater
- 00:09:50hole and that hole is a part in and of
- 00:09:53itself that is a part of a greater ho
- 00:09:55that's the structure of reality and so
- 00:09:57by connecting to that to maintaining
- 00:09:59this relationship with reality you begin
- 00:10:02to play the infinite game and that is
- 00:10:04the house of all of the finite games
- 00:10:07that you are playing that allows you to
- 00:10:08bring meaning to those things that you
- 00:10:10thought were superficial and shallow
- 00:10:12before like making a lot of money or
- 00:10:14doing whatever your desires are man is
- 00:10:16by nature a goal striving being and
- 00:10:19because man is built that way he is not
- 00:10:21happy unless he is functioning as he was
- 00:10:23made to function as a goal striver thus
- 00:10:25true success and true happiness not only
- 00:10:27go together but each and enhances the
- 00:10:29other that's a quote from Maxwell maltz
- 00:10:32he's the author of psycho cybernetics
- 00:10:34which is in line with what we're talking
- 00:10:35about cybernetics but he wrote it in a
- 00:10:37more self-help lens for the mind for the
- 00:10:40psyche goals are so much more important
- 00:10:41than we think in a world where people
- 00:10:43can't stop regurgitating programming
- 00:10:45from their new school systems over goals
- 00:10:48goals determine how you see the world
- 00:10:50goals determine what you consider
- 00:10:52success or failure you can try to enjoy
- 00:10:54the journey but if you pursue the wrong
- 00:10:56goal you are making it 100 times more
- 00:10:58difficult to enjoy the journey your mind
- 00:11:00is the operating system for reality that
- 00:11:03system is composed of goals for most
- 00:11:06people those goals are assigned to them
- 00:11:08programmed like lines of code in their
- 00:11:10psyche go to school get the job get
- 00:11:12offended play victim retire at 65 a
- 00:11:14known path that doesn't work so to
- 00:11:17become more intelligent you must reject
- 00:11:19the known path dive into the unknown set
- 00:11:22new Higher Goals to expand your mind
- 00:11:24embrace the chaos and allow for growth
- 00:11:26study the generalized principles of
- 00:11:28nature and become a deep generalist we
- 00:11:31will learn how to do all of the above as
- 00:11:33we continue in this
- 00:11:39video now we need to talk about how your
- 00:11:41mind interprets reality how your goals
- 00:11:44frame how you perceive situations
- 00:11:46because that determines most of the
- 00:11:48decisions that you make most of the
- 00:11:50choices that you make and if you are the
- 00:11:52culmination of your past choices then
- 00:11:54your choices today that you're going to
- 00:11:56learn how to make better choices are
- 00:11:58going to create your future future so we
- 00:11:59will start with a quote from mihi chiet
- 00:12:02mihi the optimal state of inner
- 00:12:04experience is one in which there is
- 00:12:05order in Consciousness this happens when
- 00:12:08psychic energy or attention is invested
- 00:12:10in realistic goals and when skills match
- 00:12:13the opportunities for Action the pursuit
- 00:12:15of a goal brings order and awareness
- 00:12:17because a person must concentrate
- 00:12:18attention on the task at hand and
- 00:12:20momentarily forget everything else that
- 00:12:23is from the book flow now the mind has
- 00:12:25two key purposes for survival that align
- 00:12:28with cyber gentics that we talked about
- 00:12:30earlier the first is achieving known
- 00:12:32goals and the second is discovering
- 00:12:34unknown goals this is what your mind
- 00:12:36wants to do the mind is an information
- 00:12:38processing and pattern recognition
- 00:12:40machine that we have a certain amount of
- 00:12:42control over based on our level of
- 00:12:43development the mind is a system
- 00:12:45containing a complex set of systems that
- 00:12:47accepts Rejects and uses information to
- 00:12:50Aid in the goals you feed it so if
- 00:12:52you're always focused on negative
- 00:12:53outcomes they will become reality and
- 00:12:56you'll blame everyone but yourself for
- 00:12:57The Misfortune in your life life the man
- 00:13:00who conceives himself to be a failure
- 00:13:02type person will find some way to fail
- 00:13:04in spite of all his good intentions even
- 00:13:06if the opportunity is dumped in his lap
- 00:13:08the person who conceives himself to be a
- 00:13:10victim of Injustice one who was meant to
- 00:13:13suffer will invariably find
- 00:13:14circumstances to verify his opinions so
- 00:13:17in other words cybernetics if your goal
- 00:13:20is to fail or your subconscious or
- 00:13:22unconscious goal not even something that
- 00:13:24you're really paying attention to or set
- 00:13:26yourself one that was conditioned into
- 00:13:28you by parents or a society that wanted
- 00:13:31you to fail if you have the goal of
- 00:13:33failure you're going to fail if you have
- 00:13:36the meta goal of success that houses the
- 00:13:39other goals that you're holding you're
- 00:13:41going to notice the opportunities for
- 00:13:43Success you can have the goal of
- 00:13:45starting a business but if in the back
- 00:13:47of your mind the thing encapsulating
- 00:13:48that goal is a negative intention to
- 00:13:51fail you will fail at the root of your
- 00:13:53mind like a puppet master is your
- 00:13:55identity or ego your ego is a system of
- 00:13:58ideas beliefs values and standards that
- 00:14:01shape your perspective and contrary to
- 00:14:03popular belief the ego is not the enemy
- 00:14:06it's the story teller The Interpreter
- 00:14:08your job isn't to get rid of it your job
- 00:14:10is to develop it to expand it to remove
- 00:14:13the condition limits keeping you in a
- 00:14:15narrow-minded perspective that makes
- 00:14:16life reactive and negative we're going
- 00:14:18to talk about this in the next section
- 00:14:20when we talk about the stages of ego
- 00:14:22development your perspective is like the
- 00:14:24lens of a camera you can zoom in and out
- 00:14:27you can focus on one part of the scene
- 00:14:29while the background is blurred or focus
- 00:14:31on the detail of the entirety of the
- 00:14:32scene your perspective influences your
- 00:14:35perception of situations meaning your
- 00:14:37identity will limit the information it
- 00:14:39can perceive and if it receives
- 00:14:41information that does not match its
- 00:14:42beliefs values or standards it will
- 00:14:44reject it your mind automatically
- 00:14:46accepts or rejects information to
- 00:14:49achieve the goals that are programmed
- 00:14:51into your head if you want to get a job
- 00:14:53dopamine will signal the importance of
- 00:14:55information and opportunities that help
- 00:14:57you get that job your book highight
- 00:14:59lights will reflect that goal how you
- 00:15:00approach conversations with anyone will
- 00:15:03reflect that goal and the algorithm will
- 00:15:05help deepen the roots of that identity
- 00:15:06by showing you more of that information
- 00:15:08for better or worse so if you're trying
- 00:15:10to go to school get a job retire at 65
- 00:15:13then the conversations you have are
- 00:15:15going to you're going to interpret them
- 00:15:17from the lens of that goal they may not
- 00:15:18directly be about those things that
- 00:15:20you're conversing about but you're going
- 00:15:22to pick up information for them you're
- 00:15:24going to be talking with this person
- 00:15:27let's say your parents friend and you're
- 00:15:28going to be thinking the whole time hm
- 00:15:30what are they doing for work do I want
- 00:15:32to end up like that what did they do for
- 00:15:33schooling what major did they go through
- 00:15:35how much do they make do they seem like
- 00:15:37they enjoy their life and it's going to
- 00:15:38shape your actions in the pursuit of
- 00:15:41that goal but you're probably not going
- 00:15:43to leave that goal unless they challenge
- 00:15:44those beliefs of yours now if you want
- 00:15:46to quit your job dopamine will do the
- 00:15:49same thing like Hunters that notice new
- 00:15:51berries on a bush dopamine signals
- 00:15:52information that is important for the
- 00:15:54survival of your top- of- mind goal so
- 00:15:57you are more likely to remember and
- 00:15:59utilize that information humans both
- 00:16:01attempt to survive and reproduce the
- 00:16:03information in their DNA like animals
- 00:16:06and the information in their
- 00:16:08Consciousness their identity their
- 00:16:09psychic body their mental body and if
- 00:16:12your goals and perspective are what
- 00:16:14frame that it's the shape of your body
- 00:16:17when that thing is threatened or if
- 00:16:18you're just trying to achieve a goal
- 00:16:20you're going to your emotions and your
- 00:16:23suffering are going to reflect that when
- 00:16:26you feel pain it's usually because you
- 00:16:28are out of alignment with a goal or it
- 00:16:30threatens the goal and when you notice
- 00:16:31something exciting or good that's
- 00:16:33something you need to double down on and
- 00:16:34go to to actually achieve that goal to
- 00:16:37solidify your identity so that it
- 00:16:39doesn't fall apart so if we take that
- 00:16:40into account and your goal is to quit
- 00:16:43your job then something like your Google
- 00:16:45searches are going to change from best
- 00:16:47careers to go into in 2024 to best
- 00:16:49business models to start in 2024 and
- 00:16:51you're going to start to go down the
- 00:16:53rabbit hole and you're going to start to
- 00:16:54follow new people on social media if you
- 00:16:56actually want to achieve the goal again
- 00:16:58if you are bound to fail or you want to
- 00:17:00fail you're not going to do these things
- 00:17:02or you're going to interpret them from a
- 00:17:04skeptical lens and program your mind in
- 00:17:06the opposite direction to stay
- 00:17:07comfortable and if you have the goal to
- 00:17:09quit your job maybe you feel more
- 00:17:11compelled to check out digital economics
- 00:17:13with the link in the description where I
- 00:17:14help you deconstruct your identity and
- 00:17:16turn yourself into the business let's
- 00:17:19recap that section very quick because
- 00:17:22your mind is a cybernetic system Society
- 00:17:26is a behavior system and there are three
- 00:17:28big goals gos that they injected into
- 00:17:30your mind right when you learn to
- 00:17:31comprehend the language you speak one
- 00:17:33school 2 job 3 retire 99% of people are
- 00:17:38only interpreting everyday situations in
- 00:17:40a way that leads to those goals they
- 00:17:42study what they're told to study for the
- 00:17:43sake of status and survival thus closing
- 00:17:45their mind off to things that really
- 00:17:47matter in life they become a specialist
- 00:17:49slave who's dependent on those who need
- 00:17:51that specific knowledge they don't have
- 00:17:53the Deep generalized skill set that
- 00:17:55allows them to pursue their own path a
- 00:17:57writer who only learns writing doesn't
- 00:17:59have a chance at making an independent
- 00:18:01income 99% of people are practicing the
- 00:18:04skills focusing their attention and
- 00:18:06programming their minds to live a
- 00:18:07mediocre life without even knowing it
- 00:18:09because they failed to question and
- 00:18:11Revolt this is a realization that people
- 00:18:14make way too late Success is Not planned
- 00:18:17it is automatic successful people
- 00:18:19whether they were conscious of it or not
- 00:18:21had a mind that was programmed to
- 00:18:22achieve the goals that led to their
- 00:18:24success they saw life through the
- 00:18:26perspective of their goals and that
- 00:18:27allowed them to store the right
- 00:18:29information in their subconscious
- 00:18:31influencing their choices that compound
- 00:18:33into achieving that goal your identity
- 00:18:36perspective and perception of situations
- 00:18:38are all systems that feed into and
- 00:18:40reinforce each other in that order with
- 00:18:42that said 80% of living the life you
- 00:18:45want boils down to creating your own
- 00:18:47goals While most people are Mindless
- 00:18:49slaves to society's goals the last thing
- 00:18:51here and a very important thing is that
- 00:18:54you can't become aware of a problem
- 00:18:57unless you have the goal and if you
- 00:19:00don't invest energy into the goal you
- 00:19:02won't feel the pain or identify the
- 00:19:05problem of not reaching that goal as an
- 00:19:07example I will occasionally go out and
- 00:19:10have a few drinks at dinner and in my
- 00:19:13past I would drink a lot more in college
- 00:19:16days and that was until I realized how
- 00:19:19much it took away from my goal at the
- 00:19:22time of cutting weight for the summer
- 00:19:24and I was also writing my book at the
- 00:19:26time so I never saw the drinking as a a
- 00:19:28problem because I never had anything to
- 00:19:31dedicate my time and attention to in the
- 00:19:33morning so when I realized hey I'm
- 00:19:35waking up I'm a bit more foggy I only
- 00:19:37had two drinks three drinks last night
- 00:19:40and I'm just foggy ideas aren't coming
- 00:19:42to mind writing this book I'm literally
- 00:19:43sitting here for an hour staring at a
- 00:19:45screen when I'm supposed to be getting 5
- 00:19:47to 10 pages for my book done and that's
- 00:19:49not happening and that feels terrible
- 00:19:51because I'm not making progress then
- 00:19:53second to that when I'm supposed to run
- 00:19:55first thing in the morning and I try to
- 00:19:57power through I to have the discipline
- 00:19:59and I go out go outside start running
- 00:20:02and it's just so much harder it's so
- 00:20:04much harder to achieve the goal and lose
- 00:20:06the weight and not to mention how
- 00:20:07alcohol interacts with your body so it's
- 00:20:10different situations as well where
- 00:20:13that's not a goal of mine I don't have
- 00:20:15those things to pay too much attention
- 00:20:16to in the morning I'm not a fan of a
- 00:20:19static and permanent lifestyle or
- 00:20:21routine I like the change I like being
- 00:20:23able to learn I like being able to
- 00:20:25identify and loot back to problems from
- 00:20:27a higher level of development so now at
- 00:20:30this point in my life maybe for the next
- 00:20:31few months I like going out and having a
- 00:20:33few drinks on the weekend with my
- 00:20:36friends but the point is that problems
- 00:20:38aren't problems unless you have a
- 00:20:40corresponding goal if you don't have any
- 00:20:43worthwhile goal you aren't able to see
- 00:20:45the plethora of problems that once
- 00:20:47solved lead to a better life so if you
- 00:20:50don't have these goals that you're
- 00:20:51investing energy in and feeling the pain
- 00:20:53of not making progress towards them you
- 00:20:55can't see the problems that are in your
- 00:20:58life right now now if you were to
- 00:20:59condition yourself with new stimuli
- 00:21:02constant self-education to the point of
- 00:21:04having an identity that couldn't survive
- 00:21:06without achieving new goals you would
- 00:21:08inevitably achieve whatever they are
- 00:21:10with ease if you want a successful
- 00:21:12business relationship or anything that
- 00:21:14is out of the norm you must
- 00:21:15fundamentally change the goals your mind
- 00:21:17operates on by changing who you are to
- 00:21:19change who you are you must educate
- 00:21:21practice and experience new information
- 00:21:23to reprogram your mind's faulty wiring
- 00:21:25that was installed by Society
- 00:21:32now finally we're going to talk about
- 00:21:34the stages of psychological development
- 00:21:36or ego development so we can understand
- 00:21:39what it takes to reach the top 1% of
- 00:21:42intelligence and we can understand what
- 00:21:43stages people like Jordan Peterson or
- 00:21:46Alan Watts or your average everyday
- 00:21:48individual falls into so here is a
- 00:21:51graphic that I got from slow.com all of
- 00:21:55the graphics I think all of the graphics
- 00:21:56from here on out are from slow SL o
- 00:22:00ww.co but this is what we're going to be
- 00:22:03going over so you can screenshot this or
- 00:22:05just keep these things in mind this is
- 00:22:06what we're going through but first I
- 00:22:08want to share another quote that
- 00:22:10Einstein supposedly said you can't solve
- 00:22:13a problem from the same level of
- 00:22:14Consciousness that created it so if you
- 00:22:17remember everything that we just talked
- 00:22:18about in terms of cybernetics and goals
- 00:22:21and how those frame situations how your
- 00:22:22goal determines the process or the
- 00:22:24journey how your goals if they are a
- 00:22:26part of who you are or a part of of who
- 00:22:28you are becoming are what determine your
- 00:22:31success what you need to understand now
- 00:22:34is that there is another layer to this
- 00:22:36you have the goals of your level of
- 00:22:39development of your level of
- 00:22:41psychological development those are what
- 00:22:43are important to you so you have to
- 00:22:45understand that these goals evolve once
- 00:22:47you achieve one or as you're achie as
- 00:22:50you are pursuing one that goal May
- 00:22:52evolve in perspective so you're viewing
- 00:22:55it from a different lens so by
- 00:22:57increasing your level of development
- 00:22:59over the years by doing what we're going
- 00:23:01to talk about you slowly refine what
- 00:23:04your version of success is and are more
- 00:23:07able to achieve it because you have the
- 00:23:09skill and knowledge and development to
- 00:23:11match if you want to become more
- 00:23:13intelligent you need to expand your mind
- 00:23:15to see the bigger picture to tell a more
- 00:23:18holistic story to view situations from
- 00:23:20all perspectives to not decapitate your
- 00:23:22thinking by conforming to one
- 00:23:24perspective one religion one business
- 00:23:26model one area of study that is
- 00:23:28verifiably nontruth because of its
- 00:23:30one-dimensionality when you have a
- 00:23:32higher goal you can think more
- 00:23:34intelligently toward that goal but you
- 00:23:37can't expand to a higher level of Mind
- 00:23:38in an instant in fact it takes an entire
- 00:23:41lifetime to reach the highest stages who
- 00:23:43knows how much further human development
- 00:23:44will go when technology allows us to
- 00:23:46live until we're 500 don't die we are
- 00:23:49going to dissect ego development theory
- 00:23:52in relation to intelligence and what
- 00:23:54we're talking about so uh I'm going to
- 00:23:56link a PDF to Suzanne cook gr's 90 plus
- 00:24:01page uh dissertation on ego development
- 00:24:04theory it's very insightful it's
- 00:24:06definitely worth reading save it read it
- 00:24:08later but understand that there are some
- 00:24:10nuances and things that we're leaving
- 00:24:12out because cybernetics we are writing
- 00:24:16towards a specific goal and how we get
- 00:24:19there is going to be determined by the
- 00:24:21goal so there is going to be some
- 00:24:23information from her paper whose goal is
- 00:24:26to Accurate accurately explain every
- 00:24:30aspect of ego development theory there's
- 00:24:32going to be some things left out so just
- 00:24:34keep that in mind here but along with
- 00:24:36this I would also recommend that you
- 00:24:38study spiral Dynamics and Ken Wilbur's
- 00:24:41aqal model and when you connect the dots
- 00:24:43between all three it's pretty incredible
- 00:24:46uh how your mind starts to think in ego
- 00:24:49development theory there are three
- 00:24:50directions of movement or growth or
- 00:24:53development there's horizontal which is
- 00:24:55lateral expansion at the same stage so
- 00:24:57you're developing new skills in adding
- 00:24:59information and knowledge there's
- 00:25:00vertical up which is transformation so
- 00:25:03growth to a new stage or perspective and
- 00:25:05then there's vertical down so temporary
- 00:25:08or permanent regression due to life
- 00:25:10circumstances environment stress and
- 00:25:12disease we can think of it like this we
- 00:25:14can think of horizontal development as
- 00:25:16filling one's cup with skill knowledge
- 00:25:19Etc and then we can think of vertical
- 00:25:21development the thing that we're aiming
- 00:25:23for a new level of Mind as expanding the
- 00:25:26cup the capacity of the cup the water's
- 00:25:28still in there but you need to fill more
- 00:25:31you need to be you need to do more
- 00:25:32horizontal development as your vertical
- 00:25:34development goes up that's increasing
- 00:25:36and expanding your complexity of self
- 00:25:38that's becoming a more unique individual
- 00:25:41another fun fact here is that stress
- 00:25:43alone can cause you to regress into the
- 00:25:47past version of yourself or into a lower
- 00:25:49stage of development so when you feel
- 00:25:51very spiritual and open at times when
- 00:25:54you are in a very stressful life
- 00:25:56situation you can regress back down to a
- 00:25:59more dogmatic and singular perspective
- 00:26:01point of view very reactive and negative
- 00:26:04and argumentative the point is that the
- 00:26:06higher you develop yourself the lower
- 00:26:08you regress under a stress situation so
- 00:26:11if you develop yourself very high over
- 00:26:13the years then when you do get stressed
- 00:26:15you're still regressing to a rather
- 00:26:18well-rounded stage so here is a graphic
- 00:26:22again from slow SL ww of horizontal
- 00:26:26development and vertical development and
- 00:26:28this reflects the spiral Dynamic stages
- 00:26:31colors so in spiral Dynamics it's very
- 00:26:34similar stages but they're represented
- 00:26:36in colors like red Amber orange green
- 00:26:38teal now with spiral Dynamics think of a
- 00:26:41spiral right rather than circles what
- 00:26:44the spiral represents in development
- 00:26:46this is how you develop is like a spiral
- 00:26:48is that you sometimes loop back around
- 00:26:51to the same problems or the same it's
- 00:26:53kind of like deja vu or the same
- 00:26:55patterns in that cycle of development so
- 00:26:59you can think that it's like hm it feels
- 00:27:01like I'm not making much progress but
- 00:27:02you're an entire stage above where you
- 00:27:04were reaching new stages of development
- 00:27:06requires an evolution of your
- 00:27:08perspective you need time understanding
- 00:27:11and horizontal development in that stage
- 00:27:13so new skills challenges and goals you
- 00:27:15need awareness of and open-mindedness to
- 00:27:18explore a perspective different from
- 00:27:19your own you need a fundamental change
- 00:27:21in who you are through education and
- 00:27:23conscious conditioning a commitment to
- 00:27:25deeper understanding and seeking truth
- 00:27:27and last you need cybernetic trial and
- 00:27:29error to have a goal that resides in a
- 00:27:31new stage of development and solve
- 00:27:33problems in the way of that goal and
- 00:27:35self-correct when you realize you didn't
- 00:27:36solve the right problem now pain is
- 00:27:39sometimes a necessary requirement for
- 00:27:42reaching a new stage of development and
- 00:27:44even if it's not a prerequisite to it
- 00:27:46it's usually the byproduct of
- 00:27:48transformation you will feel the pain or
- 00:27:50suffering that comes along with that
- 00:27:52it's like how I talk about with tactical
- 00:27:54stress where you either launch yourself
- 00:27:56into a very stressful situation and
- 00:27:58force yourself to evolve I do this by
- 00:28:01moving or I did this by moving to a
- 00:28:03place that I couldn't afford forcing me
- 00:28:05to do better in my business and grow and
- 00:28:07expand through those negative emotions I
- 00:28:09was experiencing but that's not for the
- 00:28:11faint-hearted many people can't handle
- 00:28:13that with that understanding the stages
- 00:28:15of development helps you see what lies
- 00:28:18ahead it helps you Orient your
- 00:28:20development towards them and it can
- 00:28:21change your life so first we need to go
- 00:28:23over the preconventional stages which is
- 00:28:26about 5% of the population and usually
- 00:28:29takes place in early childhood and
- 00:28:31because of that most of you aren't in
- 00:28:33these stages so we're going to keep this
- 00:28:34very brief the preconventional stages
- 00:28:37symbiotic impulsive and opportunist are
- 00:28:39characterized by egocentrism in other
- 00:28:42words they can't adopt another person's
- 00:28:44perspective they haven't been socialized
- 00:28:46or they have towards the end of the
- 00:28:48phases so you can think of a kid who is
- 00:28:50born and is uh dependent on his parents
- 00:28:53and his parents are just giving machines
- 00:28:55they're just survival machines it's like
- 00:28:56me me me just give me what I need to
- 00:28:58survive and then you go to something
- 00:28:59like kindergarten and you start to
- 00:29:01realize oh I'm not the only person on
- 00:29:03this Earth I'm not the center of the
- 00:29:04universe and then by the age of 10
- 00:29:07you're usually out of these stages so
- 00:29:09we'll move on to the conventional stages
- 00:29:12so there's preconventional conventional
- 00:29:13and postconventional we're into the
- 00:29:15conventional now which is 75 to 80% of
- 00:29:18the population and this is where most
- 00:29:20high IQ people test we can think of the
- 00:29:23conventional stages as monkeys copying
- 00:29:26other monkeys in the attempt for status
- 00:29:28and becoming the top of the food chain
- 00:29:29usually this is from my own observation
- 00:29:32when you talk to someone who is in a
- 00:29:33conventional stage of development you're
- 00:29:35usually talking to a TV or a YouTube
- 00:29:39channel or a social media feed you
- 00:29:41aren't talking to the actual person
- 00:29:43you're talking to their regurgitated
- 00:29:45condition beliefs from their environment
- 00:29:47so stage three the first stage of the
- 00:29:50conventional stages is the conformist
- 00:29:52stage in the conformist stage their
- 00:29:54identity is defined by their
- 00:29:56relationship to a group as some examples
- 00:29:59you can think of high school students
- 00:30:00who are focused on popularity corporate
- 00:30:03employees that stick to the rules like
- 00:30:04attending all mandatory meetings or
- 00:30:06something like military or religious
- 00:30:08adherence in other words conformists
- 00:30:11obey the authority and conform to the
- 00:30:13group and you can easily observe this in
- 00:30:16Bible Thumpers which is pretty much
- 00:30:17people who just the ideology of whatever
- 00:30:20religion that they subscribe to is Law
- 00:30:23and that's all that comes out of their
- 00:30:25mouth they don't have a logical argument
- 00:30:27or any ual argument against the religion
- 00:30:30or for the religion they're just that's
- 00:30:32their mind and another helpful model
- 00:30:34here is Ken Wilbur's
- 00:30:38pre-transaction rational and
- 00:30:41post-rational and in the sense of
- 00:30:43religious beliefs that can be
- 00:30:45characterized as bible thumper to
- 00:30:48atheist to Mystic which is really
- 00:30:50interesting and it shows a lot of
- 00:30:52people's Evolutions it's like Jordan
- 00:30:54Peterson who was raised in a heavily
- 00:30:57Christian household and then he kind of
- 00:30:58left and became agnostic and now
- 00:31:01obviously now he's looping back around
- 00:31:03to God he's writing a book we wrestle
- 00:31:06with we who wrestle with God and he
- 00:31:09approaches things from a more symbolic
- 00:31:10or metaphorical point of view now we all
- 00:31:13have our own thoughts about Peterson but
- 00:31:15this is true for myself where I was
- 00:31:17raised in a Mormon household and then I
- 00:31:19turned into an atheist after challenging
- 00:31:21those beliefs and I've looped back
- 00:31:23around to a deeper understanding of the
- 00:31:26nature of reality and while most most of
- 00:31:28the time I don't call the Ultimate
- 00:31:29Reality God I do understand that it is
- 00:31:33there and I I don't really like calling
- 00:31:35it God because that for me that's too
- 00:31:38reminiscent of the bible thumper or the
- 00:31:40pre- rational stage and people begin to
- 00:31:43mistake my beliefs for that when I don't
- 00:31:46want that to be the case at all it's
- 00:31:48misinterpretation but if God were the
- 00:31:51term that's the term I would use now the
- 00:31:54next stage after the conforming stage is
- 00:31:56the expert stage the expert stage is
- 00:31:59characterized by self-authorship
- 00:32:01personal growth tackling complex
- 00:32:03problems self-reflection and complex
- 00:32:05problem solving professionals live in
- 00:32:07the stage engineering types skill
- 00:32:09Centric scientific materialists who
- 00:32:11think everything can be explained
- 00:32:13through modern science or reductionism
- 00:32:15they are good at doing tasks but bad at
- 00:32:17knowing if they are doing the right task
- 00:32:19they can't see if what they're doing is
- 00:32:21important for mankind the experts are
- 00:32:24the know-it-alls they think they know
- 00:32:26everything and that everything should be
- 00:32:27done their ways they're still in a
- 00:32:29singular perspective and they think that
- 00:32:31that perspective is absolute truth now
- 00:32:34the next stage or stage four and these
- 00:32:37stage numbers are a bit off they go
- 00:32:38stage three stage 3/4 and now stage four
- 00:32:42is the achiever stage most of Western
- 00:32:45education and schooling are geared
- 00:32:47toward creating Achievers this is the
- 00:32:50Pinnacle stage of where people can end
- 00:32:51up in their mind this is the definition
- 00:32:54of Western success it's making a lot of
- 00:32:56money having a beautiful partner or
- 00:32:59spouse having a nice car having a nice
- 00:33:01house it's the American dream embodying
- 00:33:04as a a perspective and then in this
- 00:33:06stage there is a shift from employee
- 00:33:08mindset to entrepreneur mindset a shift
- 00:33:10from I have this individual skill to how
- 00:33:14can I use this individual skill to
- 00:33:16utilize it in society so in our space
- 00:33:19this is the dominant Paradigm of social
- 00:33:22media it's a lot of business videos it's
- 00:33:24a lot of self-help you can think of
- 00:33:26Hamza or horoi as people in this stage
- 00:33:30it's the self-improvement or business or
- 00:33:32masculinity or relationship accounts the
- 00:33:34health wealth relationships happiness
- 00:33:36accounts that are examples of achievers
- 00:33:38that have the occasional glimpse into
- 00:33:41postconventional stages now a lot of
- 00:33:43them could be intelligently putting on
- 00:33:45an act to attract people in this stage
- 00:33:48this is kind of often what I do with my
- 00:33:50YouTube titles sometimes my YouTube
- 00:33:52titles are very superficial and shallow
- 00:33:54and focused on making a lot of money or
- 00:33:56getting a specific desire end result but
- 00:33:58inside the video itself I try to raise
- 00:34:01people to the next stages of development
- 00:34:04and sometimes you see this in Hamza who
- 00:34:07talks about the way of the superior man
- 00:34:09which is a very spiritual book but it's
- 00:34:11often times interpreted In This Very
- 00:34:13like red pill masculinity frame so those
- 00:34:16are the conventional stages and now we
- 00:34:17need to go over the postconventional
- 00:34:19stages which is the top 15 to 20% of the
- 00:34:23population and I say top but you have to
- 00:34:26understand that these are just stages of
- 00:34:27development vment that people go through
- 00:34:29just because you're born into a
- 00:34:30preconventional stage doesn't make that
- 00:34:32stage any worse it's just how you
- 00:34:35develop they're higher and lower and if
- 00:34:37that doesn't tickle your Peach then
- 00:34:40don't consider it higher lower just see
- 00:34:42them however you want but that's how it
- 00:34:43is each stage has different goals and
- 00:34:46worldviews meaning their idea of success
- 00:34:48evolves so the system their mind runs on
- 00:34:51evolves with it if we would consider an
- 00:34:53efficient system to be ordered we can
- 00:34:56understand why chaos disc comfort and
- 00:34:58pain are a part of development it's
- 00:35:00because you are ordering your mind and
- 00:35:03then you realize something new and you
- 00:35:04have to change your perspective or
- 00:35:05embody more and you're exposed to chaos
- 00:35:07you're exposed to the unknown you're
- 00:35:09taking steps into the unknown and you
- 00:35:10need to create order out of that
- 00:35:13intelligence is questioning your beliefs
- 00:35:15realizing deep generalized patterns and
- 00:35:18realizing that all is relative except
- 00:35:20for those deep generalized patterns that
- 00:35:22can be universally applied the
- 00:35:25postconventional stages are where we
- 00:35:26start to encounter system thinking that
- 00:35:28holes are greater than the sum of their
- 00:35:30parts that reality is more like an
- 00:35:32organism than a machine that can be
- 00:35:33dissected and studied the big step
- 00:35:35between tier one conventional and tier 2
- 00:35:38postconventional Thinking is just that
- 00:35:40it's
- 00:35:41multi-perspectival it's not just about
- 00:35:43your business model self-help ideology
- 00:35:46or religion you begin to notice the
- 00:35:48properties that compose them all like
- 00:35:50how Christianity and Buddhism point to
- 00:35:52the same identity of reality God even
- 00:35:55though they would disagree on that
- 00:35:56because lower stages don't understand
- 00:35:58higher stages but higher stages
- 00:36:00understand lower of course
- 00:36:01non-ideological Buddhists are a
- 00:36:03different story but most hippies blindly
- 00:36:05adopt those beliefs without
- 00:36:07understanding so in these stages you
- 00:36:08begin to collect more perspectives and
- 00:36:11the higher you are on a mountain the
- 00:36:13more you can see the multiple paths you
- 00:36:15can take to get there so you have the
- 00:36:17desire to help more people because of
- 00:36:19that so the next stage stage 4/5 is the
- 00:36:22pluralist stage this is where a fourth
- 00:36:24person perspective is discovered
- 00:36:26pluralist begin to to step outside of
- 00:36:28the system they grew up pluralists begin
- 00:36:30to step outside of the system they grew
- 00:36:32up in the status quo and question their
- 00:36:34beliefs and values the most prevalent
- 00:36:36example would be a hippie who has a
- 00:36:37vision of everyone becoming a hippie but
- 00:36:40they can't yet see the development
- 00:36:41others have gone through so that Vision
- 00:36:43Falls flat you can think of this as the
- 00:36:46evolution from bible thumper to atheist
- 00:36:48to a hippie who first discover
- 00:36:49spirituality but they still haven't loot
- 00:36:51back or integrated the truth from the
- 00:36:54bible thumper all of this all Evolution
- 00:36:56especially the stages of development are
- 00:36:59transcend and include you transcend the
- 00:37:01last stage and you integrate its
- 00:37:03principles or its truths so to think
- 00:37:05that you are just transcending survival
- 00:37:07mode and you will never experience that
- 00:37:10or have to utilize that again is false
- 00:37:13or to think that most of your childhood
- 00:37:15impacts what you do and what you think
- 00:37:18right now is false you have to integrate
- 00:37:21it and leverage it now the next stage
- 00:37:23stage five is the strategist I
- 00:37:26personally resonate a lot with this
- 00:37:28stage I believe you never actually know
- 00:37:31I don't know I'm kind of just like
- 00:37:33guessing here because I resonate with
- 00:37:34this stage is that uh the past few years
- 00:37:37of my life were spent in this strategist
- 00:37:40stage strategists realize that intuition
- 00:37:42is more powerful than logic and
- 00:37:44rationality found in conventional stages
- 00:37:47to think that something has been
- 00:37:48formally proven is silly and close to
- 00:37:50Impossible in other words you're kind of
- 00:37:52realizing that the reductionist
- 00:37:54worldview just doesn't work again your
- 00:37:56systems thinking you understand that the
- 00:37:58whole has emergent properties that can't
- 00:38:01be found in the parts so when you take
- 00:38:04let's say a uh Pig like one of the ones
- 00:38:07you dissect in Biology class they give
- 00:38:09you this dead pig and they're like oh go
- 00:38:11dissect it look at it study the organs
- 00:38:13all of that cool stuff maybe look at
- 00:38:14things with a microscope but you're not
- 00:38:17taking into the you're not taking into
- 00:38:19account the ecological or the Zoological
- 00:38:22effect of that thing and how everything
- 00:38:24in the universe has to be taken into
- 00:38:27account in order to in order to come to
- 00:38:29the highest truth about whatever it is
- 00:38:30that you are studying with that specific
- 00:38:33little pig and you are also
- 00:38:35understanding that there is the Observer
- 00:38:38as a part of that hypothesis or equation
- 00:38:40as well that my mind at a specific stage
- 00:38:43of development with specific goals is
- 00:38:45going to interpret the findings
- 00:38:48different from the next person that is
- 00:38:50extremely important now in the
- 00:38:53strategist stage exploration and
- 00:38:55Discovery start to become more important
- 00:38:56than achiev achieving a goal or making a
- 00:38:58lot of money which can often lead to
- 00:39:00achieving more goals and making more
- 00:39:02money counterintuitively the strategist
- 00:39:04has a vision of what the world needs to
- 00:39:06move forward in the evolutionary process
- 00:39:08and understands the generalized
- 00:39:09principles of reality if I could give
- 00:39:11you one thing to read to understand the
- 00:39:14generalized principles of reality it
- 00:39:15would be the cabalion but of course most
- 00:39:18biblical texts or scripture help
- 00:39:22understand these as well they're just
- 00:39:23interpreted in a different way and to be
- 00:39:26quite honest helpful for the stories and
- 00:39:29understanding of history or uh perceived
- 00:39:31history but you they also speak a
- 00:39:34different language that you may not
- 00:39:35understand so you may reach a higher
- 00:39:37level of understanding just by
- 00:39:38researching that topic from more modern
- 00:39:40texts but that does strip a bit of the
- 00:39:43magic and soul from it if it's approach
- 00:39:46from that scientific lens so read both
- 00:39:49actually
- 00:39:51one one book I would recommend the
- 00:39:54systems view of life um kind of dense
- 00:39:57kind of scientific there isn't much of a
- 00:39:59story it's kind of just like information
- 00:40:01but if you're just looking for
- 00:40:02information then it's worth reading the
- 00:40:05strategist is a value Creator their main
- 00:40:08concern is self-development other
- 00:40:10development self-actualization
- 00:40:12integration and owning their Shadow
- 00:40:14truth can be approximated but higher is
- 00:40:16better a higher perspective is more
- 00:40:19truthful than not now the next stage
- 00:40:21stage 5/6 is the construct aware stage
- 00:40:25and in my eyes Jordan Peters falls
- 00:40:28mostly between the construct aware and
- 00:40:30the strategist stage but in terms of
- 00:40:32religion and his doubling down on
- 00:40:34Christianity and what seems to be a
- 00:40:36regression he may not be there anymore
- 00:40:39or he may just have this conventional
- 00:40:41stage Shadow Of course that is unless he
- 00:40:45is using that as an act to introduce and
- 00:40:48help more people develop in other words
- 00:40:50he is helping the people or attracting
- 00:40:53the people in that conventional stage
- 00:40:56with the Christian worldview to see it
- 00:40:59from a more metaphorical or higher lens
- 00:41:02but one interesting thing is that if we
- 00:41:05have to go through these stages of
- 00:41:06development I'm curious to see how he'll
- 00:41:08do that without first turning them
- 00:41:11atheist or agnostic like the development
- 00:41:13that he went through or if there's just
- 00:41:15a different pattern that people can go
- 00:41:17through is very interesting to me like I
- 00:41:19wonder if they can turn away from
- 00:41:20Hardcore Christianity into not so
- 00:41:23hardcore Christianity and then loop back
- 00:41:25to a more holistic
- 00:41:28view of it I don't know if the Mind were
- 00:41:30a computer construct aware people would
- 00:41:32understand that conventional stages play
- 00:41:34one app or video game on that computer
- 00:41:37they're on one site or browser
- 00:41:39postconventional stages can start to
- 00:41:41navigate the full desktop they can play
- 00:41:43the most meaningful games and even
- 00:41:45create their own so the construct aware
- 00:41:47you start to gain this programmer
- 00:41:50mindset you understand the inner
- 00:41:52workings of the computer itself if
- 00:41:54reality is the display of the computer
- 00:41:56and people people in the conventional
- 00:41:57stage or one perspective are simply
- 00:42:00operating within one browser tab or one
- 00:42:03app that they refuse to leave the
- 00:42:05construct aware tap into a fifth
- 00:42:07dimension of thinking the cognitive
- 00:42:08Dimension they can see how the mind
- 00:42:10constructs reality and meaning they can
- 00:42:12see that most people find solace in a
- 00:42:14perspective but they can't zoom out
- 00:42:16Beyond those perspectiv themselves to a
- 00:42:18now larger ho they can't adopt a meta
- 00:42:21perspective that houses other
- 00:42:23perspectives this is where the
- 00:42:24generalized principles of reality really
- 00:42:26start to click and connect unity and
- 00:42:28division creation and destruction
- 00:42:30entropy and wealth they begin to think
- 00:42:32about the world from a new abstract
- 00:42:34layer that can bring them pain as they
- 00:42:36are constantly battling with the
- 00:42:37question of so what what does this
- 00:42:40supposed mental masturbation do to help
- 00:42:42me in other words they often get so lost
- 00:42:44in abstractions or that meta perspective
- 00:42:46that they can't ground it in reality or
- 00:42:49connect it to their decision-making
- 00:42:51right now I've experienced that quite a
- 00:42:53bit and I'm sure many of you have too
- 00:42:55with just intellect sexualizing all day
- 00:42:58and not being able to really understand
- 00:42:59what the point of that is or philosophy
- 00:43:01so maybe this is the stage where well
- 00:43:04there's probably a bunch of different
- 00:43:05stages but this is one of the stages
- 00:43:06where it's like like oh but that's
- 00:43:08that's just philosophy it doesn't mean
- 00:43:10anything now the Transcendent stages the
- 00:43:13top 1% of psychological development and
- 00:43:17intelligence because of that because
- 00:43:18intelligence can only expand to the
- 00:43:20level of your mind the stage in this
- 00:43:23Transcendent stage is called the unitive
- 00:43:25stage now this is as far as we're going
- 00:43:28in this video but um and I think it's
- 00:43:30the furthest studied But Ken Wilbur has
- 00:43:33like further stages that he is dabbled
- 00:43:35into or hypothesized about so we'll see
- 00:43:38if those come about as the general
- 00:43:40stages of the population increase like
- 00:43:42they have over time most people are in
- 00:43:44the conformist stage now but what about
- 00:43:46in the tribal times when people couldn't
- 00:43:47speak and everyone thought the world was
- 00:43:49about them they were all in this lower
- 00:43:51stage of development and as we move
- 00:43:53through Evolution more people are
- 00:43:55reaching higher stages this is where I
- 00:43:58would put Alan Watts or Terren McKenna
- 00:44:01this is actually kind of fun I think
- 00:44:02it'd be fun to have the nine stages of
- 00:44:03ego development and do like a tier list
- 00:44:05of philosophers and where I think they
- 00:44:06land that would be pretty cool the thing
- 00:44:08with those thinkers Alan Watts Terrence
- 00:44:10McKenna is that they tap into Source
- 00:44:12it's just infinite intelligence you can
- 00:44:14just tell that by the ways that they
- 00:44:16speak you're like that is true so a
- 00:44:18description of the unitive stage from
- 00:44:20Suzanne cook grer the person who uh
- 00:44:23wrote her dissertation on ego
- 00:44:24development theory reality is now
- 00:44:26regular ly experienced as the
- 00:44:28undifferentiated phenomenological
- 00:44:30Continuum or the creative ground of
- 00:44:32unified Consciousness every object word
- 00:44:35thought feeling and sensation every
- 00:44:37theory is understood as a human
- 00:44:39construct separating out creating
- 00:44:41boundaries where there are none the
- 00:44:43Quest for meaning and connection is an
- 00:44:45essential aspect of the Human Condition
- 00:44:47giving names to experience and making
- 00:44:49distinctions is necessary for human
- 00:44:50growth study interaction and
- 00:44:52communication but at the source there is
- 00:44:55nothing to distinguish so in order to
- 00:44:57reach the top 1% or get to this unitive
- 00:45:01stage of development you have to go
- 00:45:02through the rest and that's going to
- 00:45:04take a lot of years it's going to take a
- 00:45:05lot of years in development and I'm not
- 00:45:07there yet Mo it's 1% of the population
- 00:45:10most people aren't there yet and with
- 00:45:11that you're going to have to go through
- 00:45:12a lot of pain you're going to have to
- 00:45:14have your mind set and with the
- 00:45:16intention to move through the stages and
- 00:45:19continue looking toward the next stage
- 00:45:21rather than getting trapped in one
- 00:45:23specifically but it does help to
- 00:45:26understand the traits of Any Given stage
- 00:45:28so that you can notice and work towards
- 00:45:31that thing so some traits of this uni of
- 00:45:33stage the truth is imminent in the
- 00:45:35universe but can't be grasped by Logic
- 00:45:38or rationality they adopt a universal or
- 00:45:40Cosmic perspective as the organizing
- 00:45:42principle and a steady place from which
- 00:45:44to derive meaning most definitions of
- 00:45:46Enlightenment are achieved they
- 00:45:48metabolize experience in a completely
- 00:45:49new radically open way they understand
- 00:45:52the need for a personal ego to survive
- 00:45:54while also recognizing the illusion of
- 00:45:56the desire for permanence the ego is
- 00:45:58useful as a perspective or lens when
- 00:46:00needed that is extremely important where
- 00:46:03a lot of people hippies mainly in the
- 00:46:06like beginning of the postconventional
- 00:46:08stages is that they reach that stage and
- 00:46:10they're like oh I figured it out I'm
- 00:46:11just going to go off at live in the
- 00:46:13woods become a monk not talk to anyone
- 00:46:16cut off my connection from the world I'm
- 00:46:19going to absolve myself of purpose when
- 00:46:22the people at the unitive stage remember
- 00:46:24you transcend and include they've
- 00:46:26integrated
- 00:46:27all of the truths and principles from
- 00:46:28the past stages so they know that they
- 00:46:30can adopt the ego as a lens to act and
- 00:46:34help and contribute to Mankind in the
- 00:46:36world next dualities and conflict are
- 00:46:39witnessed without tension or the desire
- 00:46:41to change them they live in a creative
- 00:46:43ground and lean into an ongoing Humanity
- 00:46:46fulfilling their Destiny of evolution
- 00:46:48life is seen as a form of temporary and
- 00:46:50sometimes voluntary separation
- 00:46:52bodhisatwa from the creative ground they
- 00:46:54are grounded in so they can come down
- 00:46:57from this higher perspective to adopt
- 00:46:59that lens of an ego to act within the
- 00:47:01world and that's kind of the middle way
- 00:47:03the path of the bodhisatwa it's like
- 00:47:05Alan Watts he's talked about that
- 00:47:06multiple times and last they aren't
- 00:47:08passive like conventional hippies assume
- 00:47:10Instead The non-personal Stance allows
- 00:47:12for more conscious powerful and direct
- 00:47:15action when it is needed so to recap
- 00:47:18intelligence isn't about book smarts or
- 00:47:21magnification it's about expanding your
- 00:47:23mind towards truth it's about holistic
- 00:47:25pattern recognition and a your ability
- 00:47:27to zoom out so far that all boundaries
- 00:47:29and limits are dissolved through
- 00:47:31conscious development and having the
- 00:47:32awareness of when you're closing
- 00:47:33yourself off to growth and getting
- 00:47:35trapped in any stage you can reach the
- 00:47:37unit of stage in fact my book The Art of
- 00:47:40focus which I haven't talked about in a
- 00:47:42good amount of time does exactly this it
- 00:47:44kind of covers my steps to reaching uh
- 00:47:47to moving through most stages at least
