things about that but it's not like you

that brokerage firm no it's not how it

works

so you have to be ready to be open to

the voice of the

well first of all we read in John

chapter 10 Yeshua tells us this is a

famous Good Shepherd passage and he says

in verse 14 I am the Good Shepherd and

know my sheep and have known of am known

of mine so from here we get the the
00:02:20
sense and you know if you know anything

about being a Shepherd you know that the
00:02:24
Sheep very much know the shepherd and

will follow him
00:02:30
um and that that's just a fact of Nature

and we need to be like that we need to

follow Yeshua and to know him but that's

the critical component in all this is

how do you how do you know him well

essentially I mean some of it are just

common

sense we know him by studying his word

because his character his
00:02:58
love a lot of the um a lot of the

qualities of the Divine personage of

Christ are found obviously in the word

now additionally we get to know him

through prayer intense prayer not just

spending real time in prayer with him

and and also prayerfully going through

the scriptures not just you know speed

reading the scriptures as if you were

reading you know reader digest or

something you want to prayerfully study

the scriptures stop if there's a passage

that seems difficult or obscure and pray

pray over the scriptures and have this

kind of back and forth exchange because

voice because nowadays

especially there is so much noise out

there I mean you know almost all of us

have these phones with us and we're

constantly getting bombarded with you

know different stimuli and our our most

of us have a business life that is noisy

I mean we drive in noisy traffic and and

a lot of us have maybe we're listening

to Christian radio maybe we're even
00:04:41
listening to Bible you know a Bible

thing on on on our iPhone or whatever um

but still we need to have quiet time
00:04:52
because we understand that the voice of

the ruach is a still small voice so we
00:04:59
need to set aside time like that ideally

every day even if it's just a few

minutes so that you can because the more
00:05:09
you learn to be

quiet and

listen the more you'll begin to

recognize the voice of the almighty in

different aspects of your life so this

is these three things are very very

teaches us in in to my mind one of the

most profound passages in the entire New

kind of a big thing I mean I I think

need to internalize in our

people if they had an encounter with

observing the incredible glory and

beauty and complexity of Nature and of

course this led many people in fact most

people into the worship of false like

of us have very challenging lives we

have so many things we have to

do uh it's difficult to pry away some

time for quiet for devotions for you

know prayer and and bible study but you
00:12:44
really need to do it and you know there
00:12:48
are things that we must do in our lives

you know whether it's a job whether it's
00:12:52
taking care of our home taking care of
00:12:55
our family all these things are very
00:12:58
important but we need to start I would
00:13:01
submit to you pairing away some of the
00:13:05
junk you know spending too much time on
00:13:08
social media spending too much time on
00:13:11
worthless TV programs things like that
00:13:15
uh you know you need to as it were take
00:13:17
out the trash so that your your thought
00:13:20
life and the life of your heart doesn't
00:13:23
stink so that there's room there to be
00:13:27
filled with the knowledge of Elohim

Hallelujah okay now why am I saying all

of this

well because even if you're a good
00:13:38
Christian you know there are conflicting
00:13:41
voices out there always trying to throw
00:13:44
us off

course what do I mean by that well you

know we maybe were watching you know
00:13:55
programming on Christian TV maybe we you
00:13:58
know reading books that have been
00:14:00
recommended to us and those the the
00:14:03
programming or the books might be
00:14:05
perfectly fine or they might not be we
00:14:07
need to be careful about these things
00:14:09
because you know it says in in Psalm 48
00:14:13
that Elohim is in the
00:14:16
north and that's both metaphorical and
00:14:20
literal but part of what that means to
00:14:23
me is that you know if you pick up a
00:14:27
compass that compass point will always
00:14:30
point to True
00:14:31
North because that's the nature of a
00:14:34
compass and that's what we need to try
00:14:37
and Achieve is that our Compass our

heart if you will should always point to

True North to Elohim but what happens is

if you get another

magnet you know like and bring it close

to a um a compass the needle will over

to that magnet instead of to True North

and that is the problem we have all of

us in our

lives things that come along ideas

teachings Concepts whether from the

secular world or from the church world

that are false magnets that are causing

our Compass to point in a different

direction and we need to be aware of

that because these other magnets so to

speak can lead us astray

so when we need guidance

when we seek

guidance and the answer is not

explicitly in the scriptures what do we

do well

okay first of all if you have a

trusted friend counselor partner you

know wife or husband talk to them pray

together with them ask their counsel if
00:15:54
you think they are you know uh grounded
00:15:57
enough in the faith to be a good and of

course if it's a pastor they ought to be

get advice from that individual but in

addition you need to do prayer and
00:16:08
fasting like some of you have heard the
00:16:11
testimony I

gave that when I was still a
00:16:16
Mormon uh
00:16:18
Elder and I was confronted with the

truth of the Gospel uh as is in the

Bible I spent a whole week trembling and
00:16:28
praying and and
00:16:30
fasting and in doing that I came to the
00:16:34
realization that you know I tried

everything else in my life I'd better
00:16:39
try just the simple faith in Christ
00:16:43
trusting in Him so in the same way
00:16:46
prayer and fasting is a way of purifying
00:16:50
your heart purifying your spirit and
00:16:54
again you know and I say this whenever I

talk about fasting when I'm saying
00:16:58
fasting

you know there may be health reasons why

you can't literally fast in the sense of
00:17:04
no food at
00:17:06
all but you can do like a Daniel Fast

where you just eat simple foods like
00:17:11
vegetables and legumes and things of
00:17:13
that
00:17:14
nature um whatever you have to do I mean
00:17:17
if you have health conditions then that
00:17:20
should take priority but you need to
00:17:23
fast in some way from things that
00:17:26
normally give you enjoyment
00:17:29
because that is how you build up your
00:17:31
spiritual muscles by prayer and by
00:17:34
fasting and I I I've done several videos
00:17:37
on this I don't want to be labor the
00:17:38
point but that is how you purify your
00:17:42
heart it's by prayer which is touching
00:17:45
base with heaven with the almighty King
00:17:48
of the universe but also with fasting
00:17:51
now here's the

thing those two practices can focus our

minds but we need to remember and and
00:17:59
some people don't understand this that

when we get answers quote

unquote those answers can be from one of

three places they can be from our own

carnal nature our own

desires they can be from the ruak kodesh

the Holy Spirit or and this is the scary

thing they can be from the evil one

because he will be more than happy to

slip in there and try to set you off

course as it were following a different

magnet so this is where the word comes

in handy this is where knowing the

scriptures comes in handy because I mean

I have had

people over the years contact us with

some of the most strange

teachings

um and and I just you know you wonder
00:18:58
how are are these people even struggling

with this idea you know like the idea of
00:19:02
you know polygamy or like the idea of
00:19:07
um well you know there is a church out
00:19:10
in where I used to be in Seattle where
00:19:12
the pastors started to teach that you
00:19:15
know the members of the congregation is
00:19:17
part of the worship you know both the
00:19:20
men and women should strip down to their
00:19:23
to be topless and to dance before the
00:19:26
Lord and you know immediately Ely you
00:19:29
know anybody in that congregation their
00:19:31
alarm Bell should go off but see the
00:19:35
flesh will get in there and there's a
00:19:37
titilation you know if you'll pardon the
00:19:38
expression that that that that that
00:19:41
makes your carnal nature just rise up

and say yeah I want more of that and you
00:19:46
need to beat that down again through
00:19:49
studying the word in prayer and fasting

um so that's the problem beyond that

about something and you think you may

it whether it's from another individual

or whether it just sort of comes to you

what sort of individual to marry I mean

these are these are Big life decisions

particularly marriage because that is

that is probably other than the decision

to accept Christ that's probably

probably the most important decision you

will ever make is is to choose your
00:22:33
spouse so you need to really be praying
00:22:35
and fasting about these
00:22:38
things and
00:22:41
then one final thing to consider in all

this is after you've gone through this
00:22:46
kind of sifting process where you've

really sought The Rock and you feel like

you get an
00:22:54
answer that answer should give you

you've got a job opportunity and it

looks really good and it's got good pay

may pay

less but the ruach knows the future you

and if you feel peace if you feel

experiencing it's probably from Heaven

because the devil doesn't do well with

shalom it's very hard for him to fake

rather choose the other thing go with

where you feel this deep abiding peace

Bible and there's this passage and you

and it's like bam you know that's a

second witness it might be something you

you you know you hear on some Christian

teaching you know it could be any number

of things but look you know cuz the

Bible tells us out of the mouth of or

three Witnesses all things should be

established so look for that second

witness and again it could be any number

of things and one final thought before I

supposed preachers prophets whatever you

know like that if especially if you're

in a more charismatic type church and I

know it always seems like I'm dumping on

charismatic churches but there is a lot

of stuff going on in those churches and

I was saved in a charismatic church so

you know that there's a lot of good

stuff but there's also a tendency for

things to get kind of goofy and there's
00:25:46
a lot of these prophets running around

and I use the word kind of an air

quotes that aren't really

prophets and they will Proclaim things

over you I mean if you go to a certain

kind of church you will go
00:26:02
forward uh or else they will they will
00:26:04
be walking up and down the aisle and

they'll point at an individual and say

this is what you know blah blah you know

the the word of the Lord is blah blah

for you
00:26:13
and maybe it is maybe it

isn't but you need to first of all don't

receive that into your spirit you know

if I were in a situ and I have been I

have been in you know congregation just
00:26:29
sitting there not as a speaker and had

some supposed prophetic type person you

know Proclaim something over me and
00:26:36
under my bread I want to say I bind all

false you know things and I loose the

spirit of Truth and I will say father if

this is from you I receive it but if

it's is not from you then I ask you to

just destroy its power over me right now

be careful with this sort of thing don't

just assume if the individual is a

BigTime guy or woman with an expensive

they've written a lot of books or

something don't just assume that because

of that they're this infallible profit

because there ain't no such thing I

really don't know of anybody you know I

mean I you know I thought I know

everybody but there's you know the last
00:27:25
person I know of that that I think was a
00:27:27
real quote unquote Prophet was David

Wilkerson of course he's gone home to

heaven so I I don't think that because

to be a real Prophet you have to really

be an incredibly righteous you know

soldout individual who you know just

walks deeply with the Lord and I don't

think most of these people are like that

because many people will go to the

another and have all the different

prophetic type people pray over them and

sounds very ear tickly because a lot of

unquote prophecies that really play up

the environment might be just pray
