  • 00:00:00
    hey so I want
  • 00:00:02
to I want to talk about
  • 00:00:05
some stuff all right um basically just
  • 00:00:10
to reinforce authenticity here on this
  • 00:00:13
channel um look I'm not a I'm not this
  • 00:00:17
like huge motivational speaker I don't
  • 00:00:18
know why a lot of you guys watch my
  • 00:00:20
videos but anyways here we go
  • 00:00:23
so um look uh I want to talk to the
  • 00:00:28
    people who
  • 00:00:30
play video games all day long and who I
  • 00:00:34
think this goes mostly to guys right but
  • 00:00:36
    let's just let's
  • 00:00:38
just um let's just talk to to you all
  • 00:00:42
    right
  • 00:00:44
um You have a lot of unta potential that
  • 00:00:48
    you
  • 00:00:49
could try and use you know um I I see a
  • 00:00:53
lot of potential in in young
  • 00:00:56
guys and I think they just don't know
  • 00:00:58
what to do with themselves very much cuz
  • 00:01:01
you know no one no one tells us you know
  • 00:01:03
    what to do I
  • 00:01:04
    think um
  • 00:01:10
so I'd say lay off the video games for a
  • 00:01:15
    while
  • 00:01:17
and try and be a bit more
  • 00:01:22
    mature
  • 00:01:27
um you know I I think I for me you know
  • 00:01:30
    I'm a very I tend to
  • 00:01:33
be you know in my own world and I tend
  • 00:01:36
to be naive and it's something I hate I
  • 00:01:38
don't like to be naive I don't like to
  • 00:01:41
um you know be be you know trying to be
  • 00:01:44
    a grownup and stuff obviously it's it's
  • 00:01:45
kind of boring and stuff but you know at
  • 00:01:47
some point you you kind of have to like
  • 00:01:48
admit to yourself like okay well can I
  • 00:01:51
    just you know I can't just [ __ ] play
  • 00:01:53
video games all day long you know and
  • 00:01:55
and honestly you might think it's what
  • 00:01:57
you want you know it's like the um the
  • 00:02:00
things that make you happy like okay I
  • 00:02:01
    bought
  • 00:02:02
    myself a uh a
  • 00:02:05
handheld it's a to play video games on
  • 00:02:08
you know I was I was trying to play The
  • 00:02:10
Witcher 3 and it's a great game and you
  • 00:02:12
    know it's a stupid
  • 00:02:15
    idea but
  • 00:02:17
um you know because you know I haven't
  • 00:02:20
been playing video games for like two
  • 00:02:21
years now and um I'm focused on my own
  • 00:02:25
path you know I'm creating stuff but I
  • 00:02:27
was like okay you know what
  • 00:02:30
I've been feeling very miserable because
  • 00:02:32
I haven't been doing anything or given
  • 00:02:34
myself anything to provide myself some
  • 00:02:37
sort of fun and video games is something
  • 00:02:39
that for me you know I grew up with and
  • 00:02:41
it's a huge part of me in my life and
  • 00:02:43
then you know it's like [ __ ] it you know
  • 00:02:45
and it's also a test to see if I am
  • 00:02:49
going to fall back into a sort of
  • 00:02:51
addiction and you know they are very
  • 00:02:55
addictive you know and I think a
  • 00:02:57
handheld is is a good start instead of
  • 00:02:59
you know for for example you know if I
  • 00:03:00
were to like build myself a PC and
  • 00:03:02
everything and there's this great video
  • 00:03:04
by doozy which I'm going to link down
  • 00:03:05
below um great Creator I really like
  • 00:03:08
your videos by the way if you're
  • 00:03:09
watching man um I support you um so yeah
  • 00:03:15
    um
  • 00:03:18
and the he made a video that also went
  • 00:03:21
kind of viral and which I really like
  • 00:03:23
and rewatched last night actually which
  • 00:03:25
is how you play video games is how you
  • 00:03:27
    do everything and you
  • 00:03:32
know you know I have a tendency of not
  • 00:03:35
finishing things you know as soon as
  • 00:03:37
something gets a bit too harder I you
  • 00:03:39
know there's stuff that I could
  • 00:03:42
    change through the
  • 00:03:44
    uncomfortable conversations or changes
  • 00:03:48
that you know or or through
  • 00:03:49
    disappointing
  • 00:03:50
    people um and just sheer
  • 00:03:55
force or or or or trying to be
  • 00:03:58
    consistent or
  • 00:04:00
um not giving up things like that um or
  • 00:04:06
basically as as soon as things get hard
  • 00:04:08
and and kind of not as fun you know as
  • 00:04:11
the as the learning curve becomes
  • 00:04:13
steeper um I tend to just stop you know
  • 00:04:16
    I don't tend to keep going I don't tend
  • 00:04:19
to go all the way and I focus on having
  • 00:04:23
things be set up the right way so if I'm
  • 00:04:27
going to contrast this with video games
  • 00:04:29
    basically
  • 00:04:30
the video that like I'll focus more on
  • 00:04:32
the gear that I have like I'll focus on
  • 00:04:34
how the graphics look how is the
  • 00:04:37
performance um is this really the right
  • 00:04:41
experience am I going to get the most
  • 00:04:42
out of it instead of just playing the
  • 00:04:44
[ __ ] game you know um and enjoying it
  • 00:04:49
and trying to actually get good and and
  • 00:04:51
you know I would always I would never
  • 00:04:53
really play um the uh first person I
  • 00:04:59
    mean sorry
  • 00:05:00
uh yeah know um single player story
  • 00:05:03
games you know like The Witcher and
  • 00:05:05
things like that just because I would
  • 00:05:07
always go for Shooters and just I don't
  • 00:05:10
    know it's it's kind of they're they're
  • 00:05:12
very addicting man and there's something
  • 00:05:14
about like working with your like I
  • 00:05:17
don't know just being skill-based kind
  • 00:05:19
of things rather than taking the time to
  • 00:05:22
learn about the game learn the story
  • 00:05:25
learn the mechanics you know what is
  • 00:05:27
that you know um um you know using po
  • 00:05:31
    like for example I remember
  • 00:05:33
like my cousins you know they they uh
  • 00:05:36
they're big Gamers and thanks to them I
  • 00:05:38
    got into video games
  • 00:05:39
    and they would always
  • 00:05:41
know some like they would play games you
  • 00:05:44
know like MMO RPGs you know where
  • 00:05:46
basically in those games you can like
  • 00:05:50
depending on what build you have you
  • 00:05:51
know what you know see I even struggle
  • 00:05:55
knowing the terms and obviously it's
  • 00:05:56
been quite a long time but like you know
  • 00:05:59
it's it's like farming you know for a
  • 00:06:02
certain thing you know which means you
  • 00:06:03
have to really put in a lot of work to
  • 00:06:06
build your character up and build
  • 00:06:08
certain stats up and and you can you can
  • 00:06:12
connect like they would they would be
  • 00:06:14
great at using the games mechanics to
  • 00:06:18
being to having like this huge strong
  • 00:06:22
character right okay now that for me
  • 00:06:25
which is like you know it's just like no
  • 00:06:28
I just want to go straight into to it
  • 00:06:30
and just like just give it to me now you
  • 00:06:32
know like I want the cool looking
  • 00:06:34
    character now I want the [ __ ] like I
  • 00:06:37
want everything now and I'm not the most
  • 00:06:40
    patient
  • 00:06:42
person this gives me two things and this
  • 00:06:44
is a weapon that that you know all these
  • 00:06:47
    double-edged swords is is essentially
  • 00:06:49
    still a weapon a double-edged sword is
  • 00:06:52
still a weapon right like let's not
  • 00:06:54
forget it I think um that's one of my my
  • 00:06:59
    things that I
  • 00:07:01
proudly uh start sharing more online of
  • 00:07:05
    like a double-edged sword is still a
  • 00:07:08
weapon if you're strong enough to wield
  • 00:07:13
it if you are someone who wants things
  • 00:07:16
now like if you're impatient that means
  • 00:07:19
you're still kind of willing to take
  • 00:07:21
risk or like to get started on things
  • 00:07:23
which is great you know but it also
  • 00:07:25
means you're a very impatient person you
  • 00:07:27
won't finish things as you know
  • 00:07:30
    as me
  • 00:07:32
um when it comes to my job as a barista
  • 00:07:36
    I've I've I've worked at a few places
  • 00:07:38
and you know I'm really good
  • 00:07:41
at uh you know being really fast and
  • 00:07:45
like leveling up you know and getting
  • 00:07:47
good with everybody and you know um
  • 00:07:50
doing a good job but then sort of As
  • 00:07:53
Time continues it's like okay now now
  • 00:07:56
try to be consistent you know try to be
  • 00:07:59
consistent for a while you know how long
  • 00:08:01
can you hold out it turns from a Sprint
  • 00:08:03
to a marathon and then you know it's
  • 00:08:06
like how do you how do you make the
  • 00:08:09
marathon still like how can you how fast
  • 00:08:11
    can you run in a
  • 00:08:13
    marathon
  • 00:08:15
um and I tend to just kind of lose um at
  • 00:08:20
some point just kind of like I don't
  • 00:08:21
know effort there there's been times
  • 00:08:22
    where I would
  • 00:08:24
go like I would just Sprint you know
  • 00:08:27
from the start like just all all the way
  • 00:08:30
like just give it my all and just burn
  • 00:08:31
    out you know
  • 00:08:33
and and that has a lot to do I actually
  • 00:08:35
published a newsletter about that um on
  • 00:08:37
how you can use your job and I'll
  • 00:08:39
definitely talk more on that topic in
  • 00:08:41
the future because I think I've learned
  • 00:08:43
so much from my job as a barista and
  • 00:08:46
it's going to be down in in the
  • 00:08:47
description as well I I hope you can
  • 00:08:50
check it out um it's not that long so
  • 00:08:53
you know and I I think there's some good
  • 00:08:55
tips in there on how to know you can use
  • 00:08:58
your job and and you make an active time
  • 00:09:00
and love that job which is an idea I I
  • 00:09:02
remember getting from Robert Green the
  • 00:09:04
author of 48 Laws of Power so definitely
  • 00:09:07
    check that out as well
  • 00:09:10
um but let's just go back now right to
  • 00:09:14
to video games and um yeah I mean I have
  • 00:09:16
it now I have my hand held here and I
  • 00:09:20
can definitely tell like oh you know
  • 00:09:22
it's fun but I'm still basically doing
  • 00:09:25
the same [ __ ] you know it's like ah the
  • 00:09:27
settings and stuff instead of just [ __ ]
  • 00:09:29
the [ __ ] thing instead of enjoying
  • 00:09:31
the game and um playing the games that I
  • 00:09:35
never played I had in my library but I
  • 00:09:36
    just never
  • 00:09:38
played sure you know I'm I'm someone you
  • 00:09:40
know you could say focus on your
  • 00:09:42
    strengths right but it's like H I don't
  • 00:09:45
know which in that case would be like
  • 00:09:47
FPS games but anyways I'm getting
  • 00:09:49
    carried away
  • 00:09:53
so and to put it into perspective right
  • 00:09:56
    so I uh yeah I mean look I was a I was
  • 00:10:01
severely addicted to video games uh and
  • 00:10:03
    I just mean that
  • 00:10:05
because it was just I would do it even
  • 00:10:08
if I didn't felt like it even if it was
  • 00:10:09
making me miserable even if there was
  • 00:10:10
things that I should do right and I
  • 00:10:13
    think maybe that's I'm sure that's
  • 00:10:15
probably the definition of addiction I I
  • 00:10:17
    I don't know but
  • 00:10:19
um it would get to the point where I
  • 00:10:21
would sit in front of my
  • 00:10:23
    computer
  • 00:10:25
and I just felt miserable like
  • 00:10:28
it it was just like oh I have all these
  • 00:10:31
    games and I'm I'm I'm bored like I don't
  • 00:10:32
know what to play and like it makes no
  • 00:10:36
sense like it just makes no [ __ ]
  • 00:10:37
    sense you
  • 00:10:39
know like as a kid I wanted to have the
  • 00:10:42
PC and all those games you know to play
  • 00:10:44
and then I had it and it was just like
  • 00:10:47
    H I don't know don't want to do this
  • 00:10:51
anymore it's like I got the whole
  • 00:10:53
streaming setup going and I was like oh
  • 00:10:55
it's getting hard now I don't want to do
  • 00:10:56
it anymore it's like come on man like
  • 00:10:59
    what's going
  • 00:11:01
    on you
  • 00:11:05
know and so I knew I had to do I had to
  • 00:11:07
    make a change
  • 00:11:11
right um I had bigger issues at hand you
  • 00:11:15
know it was that um you know I was I was
  • 00:11:19
    a
  • 00:11:22
um big people pleaser of course as a lot
  • 00:11:25
    of you know I
  • 00:11:27
was uh the there was just a lot a big
  • 00:11:31
lack of Independence you know and I
  • 00:11:34
think um for a lack of better word I was
  • 00:11:38
just I was just very weak you know I was
  • 00:11:40
a very I had a very weak character you
  • 00:11:42
know very irritable and very depressed
  • 00:11:44
    and um and all these
  • 00:11:50
things and so you know I I'd say you
  • 00:11:55
know skip out on the video games for a
  • 00:11:58
    while you know
  • 00:11:59
um instead of trying to get good at a
  • 00:12:02
video game try to get good at at
  • 00:12:04
yourself you know in real life like
  • 00:12:07
that's that's where it stems from like
  • 00:12:09
the the whole be or hero thing you know
  • 00:12:11
cuz like in the end it really does start
  • 00:12:13
with you like it's not about the gear as
  • 00:12:15
I mentioned in in one of the
  • 00:12:18
    earliest
  • 00:12:19
    [Music]
  • 00:12:22
um newsletters that I posted uh letters
  • 00:12:25
    to a hero I mean that I
  • 00:12:28
posted should be calling them letters to
  • 00:12:30
a hero rather than newsletter but I mean
  • 00:12:32
    it's a [ __ ] newsletter
  • 00:12:34
    whatever
  • 00:12:38
and cuz it just it starts with you you
  • 00:12:40
know like no matter how good things get
  • 00:12:43
for me I will still always find an
  • 00:12:46
excuse you know oh you know it's this or
  • 00:12:49
I don't have that or um and if you can
  • 00:12:53
if you can become like sort of obsessed
  • 00:12:55
with with your own self like
  • 00:12:59
scratching your own itch like like um
  • 00:13:03
fixing your own pain right or dealing
  • 00:13:06
    with your own
  • 00:13:07
pain which for me you know there's a few
  • 00:13:11
right but I mean I'm sure every as
  • 00:13:13
    everybody does
  • 00:13:15
    right
  • 00:13:18
um and trying to be that person that you
  • 00:13:20
would like to be you know the person
  • 00:13:22
that you want to be like in game or um
  • 00:13:26
the characters that you admire you know
  • 00:13:28
from the stories that you that you read
  • 00:13:31
or watch um the you know you can be that
  • 00:13:37
sort of person even even the people that
  • 00:13:39
you admire right and um you know embark
  • 00:13:44
on some sort of Adventure for yourself
  • 00:13:47
um leave home you know um get a job
  • 00:13:52
something that you're kind of curious
  • 00:13:53
about not something that you know I'm
  • 00:13:54
just I'm just telling you what what it
  • 00:13:56
is that I've done right but you know
  • 00:13:59
    stick with it for some
  • 00:14:00
    [Music]
  • 00:14:03
    time and
  • 00:14:05
    just
  • 00:14:08
    yeah try to get
  • 00:14:10
good you know aim high you know like
  • 00:14:13
build a vision you know these are all
  • 00:14:15
things that I've talked about before and
  • 00:14:17
that just work for me but yeah just lay
  • 00:14:21
off the video games for a while you
  • 00:14:26
    know like
  • 00:14:31
man the brain rot I think I'm probably
  • 00:14:34
    just unaware
  • 00:14:36
    of
  • 00:14:40
how how my Baseline for dopamine was so
  • 00:14:44
messed up you know with video games too
  • 00:14:46
A lot of the times I'm sure it comes um
  • 00:14:50
um you know the um corn corn videos I
  • 00:14:56
think you know on YouTube you can't say
  • 00:14:57
    the the word but anyway
  • 00:14:59
    anyways
  • 00:15:01
um yeah you know you get addicted to
  • 00:15:04
    that as
  • 00:15:05
well you all those things it's it's
  • 00:15:09
just and then the the way that like the
  • 00:15:14
culture itself you know the way people
  • 00:15:16
    talk and stuff you know
  • 00:15:19
um it's not about trying to like be
  • 00:15:21
normal either like you can be into
  • 00:15:24
whatever it is that you want to be you
  • 00:15:25
know you can be a nerd um I'm a huge
  • 00:15:29
nerd I think you know I'm not that huge
  • 00:15:31
of a nerd I think cuz I lack a lot of
  • 00:15:34
    knowledge right
  • 00:15:35
    but
  • 00:15:36
    [Music]
  • 00:15:38
    um still you
  • 00:15:43
know just boost up your stats in real
  • 00:15:46
life in other aspects right start your
  • 00:15:49
    own self-improvement Journey you know
  • 00:15:51
    it's not about
  • 00:15:52
like um yeah I think I think
  • 00:15:54
    self-improvement is a
  • 00:15:57
    shitty term
  • 00:15:59
I don't like to call it that way people
  • 00:16:01
ask me like oh what do you talk about
  • 00:16:03
    it's like well [ __ ] I I don't know I
  • 00:16:06
just talk about myself I guess that's
  • 00:16:08
what I should say I just um I'm just
  • 00:16:11
    myself on the
  • 00:16:13
    internet
  • 00:16:15
cuz a lot of that you know pain that I
  • 00:16:18
had always was just to be myself too you
  • 00:16:21
know um and escaping into video games is
  • 00:16:24
is not necessarily I think the answer or
  • 00:16:28
into that whole world I think um or at
  • 00:16:31
least it didn't help me you know um you
  • 00:16:35
know I think most of the things that you
  • 00:16:38
want are just really outside of that
  • 00:16:41
    comfort zone there's nothing I
  • 00:16:44
can sort of say against it you know the
  • 00:16:47
more I you know the more I try out these
  • 00:16:50
cliches the more I Venture into like
  • 00:16:53
sort of the unknown uh whether that's
  • 00:16:55
you know you know trying to break these
  • 00:16:58
    these li like
  • 00:16:59
as cliche as it sounds these limiting
  • 00:17:01
    beliefs in my head
  • 00:17:02
    like I
  • 00:17:05
    can't I can't say anything against it
  • 00:17:08
because it just it's just happens to be
  • 00:17:10
    true like I can't like I don't know what
  • 00:17:11
    to say you know
  • 00:17:14
like yeah you know Comfort kills it does
  • 00:17:18
    in a way it
  • 00:17:22
    just
  • 00:17:24
like you get stronger like that's the
  • 00:17:26
whole point you're supposed to be strong
  • 00:17:28
    right
  • 00:17:29
stronger at least no you're supposed to
  • 00:17:31
be strong like you're not you know I
  • 00:17:35
think there's people lot stronger than
  • 00:17:37
me and I admire them a lot you know and
  • 00:17:39
    that's something that's something you
  • 00:17:41
know you should admire those people too
  • 00:17:42
you know um there's so much stuff that
  • 00:17:46
you can get upset about like the small
  • 00:17:48
things in life and if you can just I
  • 00:17:50
guess I guess if you can aim at being
  • 00:17:53
someone that doesn't sweat the small
  • 00:17:55
stuff that's great you know it really is
  • 00:17:58
if you can be be that and have a purpose
  • 00:18:02
have a Direction have a vision and be
  • 00:18:04
the person that like if you look in the
  • 00:18:06
mirror and you like what you see
  • 00:18:07
    wouldn't that be
  • 00:18:09
great wouldn't that be great and it's
  • 00:18:12
    completely in your own
  • 00:18:15
hands you know like embark on the
  • 00:18:19
adventure embark on your own path I
  • 00:18:21
guess that's what I would like to say I
  • 00:18:22
don't know and uh that's where it stops
  • 00:18:25
you know with this whole motivational
  • 00:18:26
    stuff all the time I
  • 00:18:29
    I I don't think like yeah I I do a lot
  • 00:18:33
of it just cuz you know I don't know I
  • 00:18:37
    like it
  • 00:18:39
    [Music]
  • 00:18:40
um yeah lay off the video
  • 00:18:49
games there's a lot more to you that you
  • 00:18:52
yet have to discover I think um
  • 00:19:12
I mean if you have the discipline you
  • 00:19:14
    know
  • 00:19:16
of not being addicted to those gains
  • 00:19:20
well then fair enough you know
  • 00:19:26
but that's not my case you know or at
  • 00:19:30
    least it wasn't we'll see I don't know
  • 00:19:39
um I'm trying to get comfortable with
  • 00:19:45
uh the fact that I'm just I'm not the
  • 00:19:48
same anymore and that I have changed and
  • 00:19:51
it's weird to see uh or to to think
  • 00:19:54
    about because it's you
  • 00:19:55
know the the the problem with I think
  • 00:19:58
the problem with growth is that you just
  • 00:20:01
forget about it you just don't see how
  • 00:20:06
much you change you know you think oh I
  • 00:20:08
just got lucky or you know everybody
  • 00:20:10
else does it anyways and it's
  • 00:20:13
like well not I mean not if you
  • 00:20:17
willingly go out of your way to grow you
  • 00:20:19
know to Embrace pain you know that's
  • 00:20:21
    that's
  • 00:20:22
different cuz not a lot of people do I
  • 00:20:25
think um now I'm I'm guilty of it as
  • 00:20:28
anybody else but uh we we we tend
  • 00:20:33
to look for comfort and uh and not not
  • 00:20:38
    for pain I mean it's
  • 00:20:42
yeah and that's an double-edged story
  • 00:20:44
again if you are someone who struggles a
  • 00:20:49
    lot and
  • 00:20:50
    um and you just you
  • 00:20:55
know cuz here's the other thing when you
  • 00:20:58
live in the comfort zone at least for me
  • 00:20:59
and I'm not sure this accounts for a lot
  • 00:21:01
    of people
  • 00:21:02
but I'm sure some people need to hear
  • 00:21:05
this and you know you you you are very
  • 00:21:08
    much comfortable right like
  • 00:21:15
    you the comfort zone kills
  • 00:21:17
when small things that are necessary
  • 00:21:21
annoy you when you're very irritable and
  • 00:21:23
    no matter how much
  • 00:21:25
self-indulgence you do you don't feel
  • 00:21:27
    happy
  • 00:21:29
and you feel pathetic with yourself and
  • 00:21:32
you're very hard on yourself then that
  • 00:21:35
    kind of just tells
  • 00:21:38
me that you're just very ambitious and
  • 00:21:41
you're have you have no aim and that you
  • 00:21:44
have nothing at stake and that you need
  • 00:21:47
    to just venture
  • 00:21:49
out and and and just you know you need
  • 00:21:55
you need a goal you need a a Direction
  • 00:21:58
you need something to work at towards
  • 00:22:02
because you You' like I read this from
  • 00:22:05
um this post the other day and um I'll
  • 00:22:08
try to link it in the description as
  • 00:22:09
well Jesus Christ I need to link a lot
  • 00:22:11
    of stuff into the
  • 00:22:13
    description
  • 00:22:14
    uh
  • 00:22:16
    doy um
  • 00:22:30
basically aim I I read the other day
  • 00:22:33
that aimless ambition is anxiety or
  • 00:22:37
creates anxiety and I think that's just
  • 00:22:40
it's really true it's just very much
  • 00:22:44
true um most of the pain that I feel and
  • 00:22:48
I and this happened to me yesterday
  • 00:22:50
again and it felt like man like I went
  • 00:22:52
back in time like oh God like it wasn't
  • 00:22:55
like oh I did a few steps backwards it
  • 00:22:57
    was just like holy [ __ ] I haven't
  • 00:22:59
    changed one bit you know
  • 00:23:04
    um I just I I I felt completely blocked
  • 00:23:11
um and it's kind of weird to admit but
  • 00:23:14
    basically like I I had
  • 00:23:17
    taken like I was deciding
  • 00:23:20
between um going to the gym now or later
  • 00:23:23
    that
  • 00:23:24
night and I just I had some stuff that I
  • 00:23:27
needed to do so like you usually like we
  • 00:23:31
we tend to have a task that we're
  • 00:23:33
avoiding and that also creates a lot of
  • 00:23:36
stress and I just I have a lot on my
  • 00:23:38
plate too you know but I can't complain
  • 00:23:40
Jesus Christ it could be way worse
  • 00:23:42
things like there's a lot of better
  • 00:23:44
problems now new problems like you know
  • 00:23:47
every time like I just tell these things
  • 00:23:48
    to myself like
  • 00:23:50
    okay
  • 00:23:51
um look around like be you know things
  • 00:23:54
are pretty [ __ ] good or better um
  • 00:23:58
don't control the things you can't
  • 00:24:00
    control
  • 00:24:02
um there's a like thousands of people
  • 00:24:06
who wish to who would kill to be in your
  • 00:24:07
shoes right now and it's not hard it's
  • 00:24:10
    just
  • 00:24:11
new you just you know you just need to
  • 00:24:14
[ __ ] like pull yourself together you
  • 00:24:16
know and you know I T I tell like I know
  • 00:24:20
that my My Success is basically just
  • 00:24:22
determined by my own ability to pull
  • 00:24:25
    myself together and and be
  • 00:24:29
effective um and just do the thing when
  • 00:24:32
it's supposed to be done or when I know
  • 00:24:34
I should be doing it or you
  • 00:24:36
know like I think I'm at the point now
  • 00:24:39
where um well okay I'm I'm getting
  • 00:24:41
carried away again so [ __ ] oh my God
  • 00:24:45
Jesus Christ okay stick to the point
  • 00:24:53
santho yeah aimless ambition creates a
  • 00:24:56
lot of anxiety H yeah and I was in that
  • 00:24:58
point I was just like completely Mind
  • 00:25:00
Block like I was just like so anxious
  • 00:25:02
like I was like oh my God like okay I
  • 00:25:03
did take a lot of caffeine but like I'm
  • 00:25:06
I'm a bar that it shouldn't be that that
  • 00:25:07
big of an issue um but maybe it was the
  • 00:25:10
slight empty stomach anyways these are
  • 00:25:13
all just excuses what I'm trying to say
  • 00:25:14
    here
  • 00:25:17
    is bear with me I'm
  • 00:25:21
    sorry just
  • 00:25:23
    the this sort of
  • 00:25:26
weird fear irrational fear of oh my God
  • 00:25:32
like what should I do how am I going to
  • 00:25:35
    like am I going
  • 00:25:37
to it's like having too many options you
  • 00:25:39
    know
  • 00:25:41
um um what if what if I disappoint my
  • 00:25:45
friend because I'm not going to be there
  • 00:25:47
tonight you know um why do I even have
  • 00:25:50
this fear I thought I was over this
  • 00:25:52
already and and like who gives a [ __ ]
  • 00:25:54
but like right now I'm fully caffeinated
  • 00:25:56
like I can go to the gym you know this
  • 00:25:57
is going to be like the best times I was
  • 00:25:58
like oh my God man I was just thinking
  • 00:26:01
too much and U it's just like there's
  • 00:26:05
this there's this thing I have on my
  • 00:26:06
phone which says which is by Dan Co
  • 00:26:09
    which
  • 00:26:10
    says
  • 00:26:12
um you don't have anything I'm going to
  • 00:26:15
butcher it but it's like you're lacking
  • 00:26:18
some sort of very meaningful project or
  • 00:26:21
Direction and you're not fully committed
  • 00:26:24
that's why you were drowning in
  • 00:26:25
    options and yeah I think
  • 00:26:29
think going back to being in the comfort
  • 00:26:32
zone if you have a lot of options you
  • 00:26:34
know and no matter what you what it is
  • 00:26:37
that you do like you know um getting
  • 00:26:41
like buying cool clothes or doing fun
  • 00:26:44
stuff or playing video games or singing
  • 00:26:47
or whatever the [ __ ] like if you don't
  • 00:26:51
    have a
  • 00:26:54
    certain sort
  • 00:26:55
    of Direction you know
  • 00:26:58
if you don't have anything like at stake
  • 00:27:00
if you're not confronting any sort of
  • 00:27:02
fear if there's no like willingful pain
  • 00:27:04
or if you're not venturing outside of
  • 00:27:06
the comfort zone you kind of feel
  • 00:27:08
miserable and I felt very miserable at
  • 00:27:10
that point yesterday because it was just
  • 00:27:12
like I I think I inertly had just kind
  • 00:27:17
of given up on my own path or I was just
  • 00:27:21
like I was seeking comfort you
  • 00:27:26
    know and
  • 00:27:30
    and that
  • 00:27:32
Comfort it was it was like I I had
  • 00:27:34
pulled away my my aim I had lost sight
  • 00:27:36
of what what it is that I'm where I'm
  • 00:27:38
trying to go and maybe it's been a bit
  • 00:27:41
    accumulated
  • 00:27:44
but yeah self-indulgence and and things
  • 00:27:47
like that don't make you happy and this
  • 00:27:48
    is a lesson that I I thought I had
  • 00:27:51
already learned but I guess you
  • 00:27:54
    know
  • 00:27:56
    um here to learn again
  • 00:27:59
although I did overcome it of
  • 00:28:03
    course but it's it's you
  • 00:28:05
know yeah those things don't don't make
  • 00:28:07
you very happy at least that happiness
  • 00:28:09
doesn't very like last very long you
  • 00:28:12
    know I
  • 00:28:13
think like if you have if you're if
  • 00:28:16
you're lacking some sort of purpose if
  • 00:28:17
you're lacking some sort of Direction I
  • 00:28:19
    think it's very easy
  • 00:28:25
to become bitter and weak weak and
  • 00:28:31
um and then you have the audacity to be
  • 00:28:34
a perfectionist you know thinking oh you
  • 00:28:36
know everything has to be perfect it's
  • 00:28:38
like yeah that's that's me you
  • 00:28:42
know that's you you can't you can't do
  • 00:28:46
    that you
  • 00:28:52
    know like I think it's just so [ __ ]
  • 00:28:54
cool like if you basically make
  • 00:28:57
something the enemy and you like say I'm
  • 00:28:58
okay I'm going to go to war you know
  • 00:29:01
like that there there's real fulfillment
  • 00:29:03
    there there's real fulfillment
  • 00:29:05
in trying to slay the dragon you know
  • 00:29:09
    and and venturing there and
  • 00:29:13
and I think also like if you're
  • 00:29:15
struggling with knowing when to chill
  • 00:29:19
out or when to indulge in something it's
  • 00:29:22
like well you won't feel guilty right if
  • 00:29:25
you have done something like as you get
  • 00:29:29
stronger and as you as you get smarter
  • 00:29:31
and you build more leverage the things
  • 00:29:34
that you do sort of become easier for
  • 00:29:37
your for you right like life doesn't get
  • 00:29:39
easier you just get stronger and
  • 00:29:42
so I think maybe that's what it means to
  • 00:29:45
    like be comfortable being uncomfortable
  • 00:29:48
because we'll always probably have to
  • 00:29:50
keep doing [ __ ] that at some point we
  • 00:29:53
don't want to do or or you know like the
  • 00:29:55
the Bea beauty of life is work and rest
  • 00:29:59
    and
  • 00:30:00
um you can't have one without the other
  • 00:30:03
if you only have rest well then you'll
  • 00:30:06
be very miserable and um I'm very
  • 00:30:10
    certain of that
  • 00:30:13
like when was the last time you went on
  • 00:30:15
vacation you know and after a certain
  • 00:30:17
while you just kind of feel like ah and
  • 00:30:20
small things irritate you and you kind
  • 00:30:23
of start feeling a bit pathetic about
  • 00:30:24
yourself even though you don't notice it
  • 00:30:26
probably like I think a lot of
  • 00:30:30
    my lack of inner
  • 00:30:34
confidence was that I simply was not
  • 00:30:38
    very independent you
  • 00:30:41
    know
  • 00:30:42
um Mel Robbins she said something I
  • 00:30:47
    recently
  • 00:30:48
heard you know it goes to show if you
  • 00:30:50
surround yourself with the right content
  • 00:30:52
or or you know like you you live in the
  • 00:30:55
best time some of the best times in
  • 00:30:58
    human
  • 00:31:00
history let's not forget that you know
  • 00:31:02
you can have mentors without them being
  • 00:31:04
    present just by surrounding yourself
  • 00:31:07
    with with their
  • 00:31:08
content um but anyways she said
  • 00:31:11
    something
  • 00:31:13
about you know if you can't get yourself
  • 00:31:15
to wake up at the time you want to wake
  • 00:31:17
up eat the thing you wanted to that you
  • 00:31:19
said you were going to eat and work out
  • 00:31:22
when you said you were going to work out
  • 00:31:23
like you're not going to have a lot of
  • 00:31:25
self-respect you're not going to have
  • 00:31:27
    that self respect that self
  • 00:31:34
um and self-respect is self- L and self-
  • 00:31:39
    L is
  • 00:31:41
    uh inner
  • 00:31:44
    confidence I think there's two
  • 00:31:46
confidences right there's the you can be
  • 00:31:48
very confident like loud and be on stage
  • 00:31:50
and stuff but if you don't have the
  • 00:31:51
    inner
  • 00:31:53
confidence as someone who who likes to
  • 00:31:55
go on stage and stuff and I love acting
  • 00:31:58
    um I love to
  • 00:32:01
perform and I want to and um but that if
  • 00:32:05
you don't have the inner confidence like
  • 00:32:07
    you're
  • 00:32:07
    [ __ ] pretty much
  • 00:32:12
so yep that's the Yap of
  • 00:32:16
    today
  • 00:32:22
    um
  • 00:32:26
    yeah um
  • 00:32:30
yeah there there's a lot of potential in
  • 00:32:31
a lot of people out there I think um
  • 00:32:35
there certainly wasn't me and I
  • 00:32:38
just yeah I'm thankful that I kind
  • 00:32:41
of let those things aside and that I I
  • 00:32:43
    found out about you know
  • 00:32:47
um sort of self-improvement or that I
  • 00:32:50
that I that I got the courage to that I
  • 00:32:53
    that I
  • 00:32:54
    heard the words
  • 00:32:56
of okay okay I'm I'm very lucky and
  • 00:32:59
fortunate and thankful that I had the
  • 00:33:01
comforting words of someone telling me
  • 00:33:03
and reassuring me that I'm not a
  • 00:33:06
    burden and then
  • 00:33:09
also the kick in the ass of someone
  • 00:33:13
telling me that I'm not supposed to be
  • 00:33:15
that weak and that I'm supposed to aim
  • 00:33:19
high and supposed to be ruthlessly
  • 00:33:22
    ambitious
  • 00:33:23
and and then I started taking sort of
  • 00:33:26
things into my own hand and
  • 00:33:28
I guess I find myself in the same
  • 00:33:29
    position
  • 00:33:31
now um and it's just like okay great
  • 00:33:35
    because now I know
  • 00:33:36
that it's pretty much up to me you know
  • 00:33:39
    to change
  • 00:33:42
things I have no excuses you
  • 00:33:45
know um but yeah it makes life harder
  • 00:33:50
but also a lot more enjoyable I think
  • 00:33:54
    so yeah
  • 00:33:57
and um yeah some struggles might never
  • 00:34:00
go away but you kind of I guess you kind
  • 00:34:03
of learn to deal with them no so and um
  • 00:34:07
    I'm sure you
  • 00:34:09
    know I'll get better with
  • 00:34:11
time and and and just to mention just to
  • 00:34:14
give a small reminder to to everybody
  • 00:34:16
who's already grinding you know um hey
  • 00:34:20
you know um life is much broader
  • 00:34:25
too there's a there's so much Beauty um
  • 00:34:29
in the in the everyday you know and
  • 00:34:31
small stuff like like you know just the
  • 00:34:35
the present moment brings me a lot of
  • 00:34:37
Peace like you know looking at
  • 00:34:40
the at the Sun hitting these dead
  • 00:34:44
flowers of mine but um yeah I don't know
  • 00:34:47
    we're just kicking back
  • 00:34:51
and guess it's kind of counterproductive
  • 00:34:54
or controversial what I'm saying right
  • 00:34:55
now but like kicking back in the playing
  • 00:34:58
video games just for 30 minutes because
  • 00:35:01
you've got better S well you know I've
  • 00:35:03
become more addicted to writing and and
  • 00:35:06
and and I've burned the bridges to the
  • 00:35:09
point where you know I can't kind of get
  • 00:35:12
like back out now you know like so it it
  • 00:35:15
is a lot more enjoyable actually to me
  • 00:35:18
like making these videos and and trying
  • 00:35:21
to figure out like how can I improve
  • 00:35:23
these things and because it's just um it
  • 00:35:26
connects to a deeper level to me and you
  • 00:35:29
    know
  • 00:35:32
anyways I've gone from gamer gooner I
  • 00:35:36
    don't know gamer
  • 00:35:38
    [Music]
  • 00:35:39
    to addicted to
  • 00:35:43
to writing quite literally like even
  • 00:35:45
though I'm not posting most of it which
  • 00:35:47
I should I know I should but um
  • 00:35:52
    yeah just kind
  • 00:35:55
of writing and and kind of building
  • 00:35:58
something even though I'm not the most
  • 00:36:00
efficient at it I'm not the most capable
  • 00:36:02
at it you know but um I think if you're
  • 00:36:06
on the right path then you're you've
  • 00:36:07
    already won right
  • 00:36:10
so put out a lot on you today so we'll
  • 00:36:14
keep it there and um yeah keep
  • 00:36:18
walking one foot at a time I don't know
  • 00:36:22
I don't need to tell you anything I know
  • 00:36:23
    you got this
  • 00:36:25
so yep have a good one
  • 00:36:28
thanks for being here and uh till next
  • 00:36:30
    one bye-bye
