00:00:00
I had a coaching client last year say
00:00:15
something that was incredibly wise when
00:00:17
he hired me and in other words I took
00:00:19
him on as a coaching client he said you
00:00:22
know Alex the reason that I wanted to be
00:00:24
your client is because I want to be
00:00:25
where you are in a few years and I know
00:00:28
you did not get there by accident
00:00:31
you design your life and I thought that
00:00:33
was extremely wise and spot-on because
00:00:36
the thing is so many of us wake up when
00:00:38
we're 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 and realized
00:00:41
we don't even know why we got here or
00:00:43
how we're here and we know for sure that
00:00:45
this is not where I wanted to be where
00:00:47
we wanted to be years and years ago now
00:00:50
in this video I want to share my
00:00:51
personal process I use for not only
00:00:54
scripting the direction of your life but
00:00:56
how I reinvented my own life and
00:00:57
consciously created it from 26 until 30
00:01:12
what's up guys Alex Hein here author of
00:01:14
the book master of the day now in my own
00:01:16
life here really I think that designing
00:01:19
your life and making go forward in the
00:01:21
direction you wanted to go forward has
00:01:23
three parts and the very first part is
00:01:26
the design the second part is the habits
00:01:28
you use are you doing a daily basis and
00:01:30
the third is the follow three weather
00:01:32
follow-up in other words how do you
00:01:34
actually stay on track when you get off
00:01:36
track because half of the game of goal
00:01:39
achievement is purely when you get
00:01:41
punched in the face what are you gonna
00:01:42
do differently to get back up and get
00:01:44
back in the fight now for me the first
00:01:46
thing is vision it's basically the
00:01:49
design you know if you just sit down for
00:01:51
a day you pour a coffee you get on a
00:01:53
piece of paper and you write down what
00:01:55
would be the coolest thing that could
00:01:57
happen over the next five years in my
00:01:59
life if you just do that you are already
00:02:01
ahead of 99% of humanity who show up
00:02:05
with no game plan no vision for the
00:02:07
future no clue what they would like to
00:02:09
create besides you know I would like
00:02:11
more money or I'd like that girl or that
00:02:13
guy or I'd like a nicer car there's
00:02:15
almost no consciousness or conscious
00:02:17
energy giving me thinking about what do
00:02:19
I want to build in the future like what
00:02:21
consciously and concretely do I want to
00:02:23
improve so for me the way that I do that
00:02:26
is first of all I have a journal where
00:02:29
I'm regularly writing down updates for
00:02:31
the kind of life that I want to build
00:02:32
you know it starts with the vision which
00:02:36
makes me think of the fact that the
00:02:38
skyscrapers of New York started with a
00:02:40
picture in somebody's head and so did
00:02:42
spaceships and so it in curing a
00:02:45
difficult disease and so when I think of
00:02:47
it like that I always make sure I'm
00:02:48
consciously creating even it is just in
00:02:51
my thoughts even if it's just up there
00:02:53
both in print journals and in a document
00:02:56
that I call five years from today so the
00:02:59
three things that I use for my yearly
00:03:00
envisioning are one the yearly
00:03:03
envisioning process I've talked about
00:03:04
here which is basically at the start of
00:03:07
each year I write down what is the
00:03:08
coolest thing that could happen this
00:03:10
year like perfect year no limitations no
00:03:14
just be realistic but like what would be
00:03:16
the coolest thing that could happen I
00:03:18
put it on one piece of paper that's
00:03:20
always on my desk and
00:03:22
single day and I review it twice per day
00:03:24
now from there that yearly document also
00:03:27
has my daily habits the unique projects
00:03:29
I'm working on in each quarter of the
00:03:31
year as well as the things I know that I
00:03:33
need to work on to get better basically
00:03:35
to improve myself
00:03:36
the second thing is the pocket journal I
00:03:39
carry around this for me is always to
00:03:41
record things that may change about my
00:03:43
thinking ideas I get when I read or
00:03:46
listen to podcasts as well as little
00:03:48
intuitive hunches that come up so if I'm
00:03:50
talking to a friend or I'm reading a
00:03:52
book and I'm like wow that would be an
00:03:54
awesome idea for example that's where
00:03:56
all my books came from wouldn't it be
00:03:58
cool to dot-dot-dot I put it down in his
00:04:02
little book it's just a little three by
00:04:03
five moleskin that I always carry around
00:04:05
with me and then day by day I can flip
00:04:08
through that and be like you know what
00:04:09
these were those cool things I wanted to
00:04:11
basically manifest and create in my own
00:04:14
life let me just keep a note of them the
00:04:16
second way I do that is by doing a
00:04:18
weekly journal page now the weekly
00:04:20
journal page is just a strategy page
00:04:21
which I talked about in my recent video
00:04:24
on journaling for success and in that
00:04:26
strategy page it's basically where are
00:04:29
you Alex where do you want to be and are
00:04:31
those habits you're doing every day
00:04:33
sufficient enough to actually get you
00:04:34
there so the whole point of this journal
00:04:37
page is reflection you're doing this are
00:04:39
you still on track if not what has to
00:04:42
change and then finally I have this
00:04:44
little journal notebook a digital
00:04:46
notebook in Evernote and it just says
00:04:48
five years from today now I don't really
00:04:51
stick with that idea of five years from
00:04:53
today but the point for me is where do I
00:04:56
want to go in what direction it could be
00:04:59
as simple as moving like I know I'm
00:05:00
moving to California after I'm done with
00:05:02
my doctorate in Portland it could be as
00:05:04
simple as the relationship you want to
00:05:06
be in for example
00:05:07
I'm thirty I know that I want to be
00:05:10
married by 35 so I can have that there I
00:05:12
know that I want to have a private
00:05:14
practice and a traditionally published
00:05:17
book and three for vacations per year I
00:05:19
put all of that down where I don't know
00:05:22
how I'm gonna make it happen yet but it
00:05:24
will happen for sure I haven't quite
00:05:26
fleshed out the process the point is
00:05:28
that you're putting trajectories in your
00:05:30
brain and in your subconscious and when
00:05:32
you check that every once in a while
00:05:34
they're kind of like oh yeah I knew I
00:05:37
wanted to do that but all right let's
00:05:39
start thinking about how I can actually
00:05:40
do it and almost all of those things
00:05:43
come true for me
00:05:44
especially if you regularly review that
00:05:46
now the second piece here is your habits
00:05:48
so the daily action steps that you're
00:05:50
gonna actually do to make that a reality
00:05:53
now I've shared this philosophy many
00:05:55
times it makes up the bulk of my book
00:05:57
master of the day but the point is that
00:05:59
you think about the goals you want to
00:06:01
reach and then you have to break them
00:06:02
down forget the goal but break it down
00:06:05
into a daily habit so with Fitness you
00:06:08
forget losing 30 pounds the habit is
00:06:10
cook every day go to the gym 20 minutes
00:06:13
a day you want to write a book you
00:06:14
forget having written a book you put
00:06:16
down the habit right 500 words a day you
00:06:19
want to be in an amazing relationship in
00:06:20
two years you forget that goal you put
00:06:23
the habit I'm gonna go out to four
00:06:24
events where I might meet like-minded
00:06:26
people and that's your daily habit so
00:06:29
you bring it back to what do I have to
00:06:31
do today now the way I track that is a
00:06:34
combination of ways so not only in that
00:06:36
yearly visioning document do I put that
00:06:38
I also record it in Evernote and the
00:06:41
reason I do that is because every
00:06:42
Thursday I have a 30 to 45 minute
00:06:45
mastermind call now I've had a personal
00:06:48
mastermind for over four years now every
00:06:50
single week and it's basically started
00:06:53
when I started my business because that
00:06:54
was so difficult for me but it
00:06:56
progressed to like are you happy are you
00:06:59
building the life you want are you is
00:07:01
your ladder up against the right wall as
00:07:03
the saying goes because you might climb
00:07:04
the ladder of success and realize you
00:07:07
climbed the wrong ladder and you're not
00:07:08
where you want to be so it's also about
00:07:10
conscious goal setting and being crystal
00:07:13
clear on the path forward making sure
00:07:15
you're going down the right path you
00:07:16
want to be down so I actually have a
00:07:19
maximum of three goals per year and then
00:07:22
three habits per goal for example the
00:07:25
goals are often much more complex than
00:07:26
you think like let's say you've only
00:07:28
been sleeping five hours a night while
00:07:30
your daily ritual that may have to be
00:07:31
I'm gonna disconnect from the computer
00:07:33
at 11:00 I'm not gonna have coffee after
00:07:35
5:00 and I'm not gonna stress myself out
00:07:38
with homework or with work after a
00:07:41
certain time it may take a few habits
00:07:43
just like doing well in school or high
00:07:45
performing at your work may also be more
00:07:47
than
00:07:48
one-handed it may mean I'm gonna study
00:07:50
this study strategy everyday and apply
00:07:53
that or I'm gonna do an extra one hour
00:07:56
of work per day or self-study or
00:07:58
something else the way that I personally
00:08:00
do it is just three habits per actual
00:08:03
goal and those I track in a weekly
00:08:06
scorecard document which is these are
00:08:08
the three things did I do them Monday
00:08:10
through Sunday and then when I get to my
00:08:12
Thursday night mastermind we all get on
00:08:14
the phone and I basically give a report
00:08:17
I did this 50% of the time 90% of the
00:08:21
time this is what didn't work this is
00:08:23
what I have to improve and then the
00:08:25
third part for me about consciously
00:08:26
designing your life and going forward is
00:08:29
really just two things
00:08:30
it's the follow-through to make sure you
00:08:32
actually do these things and then number
00:08:34
two its following little intuitions
00:08:36
about when you have to pivot so the way
00:08:39
I keep the follow-through going is every
00:08:42
night I do a little master the day
00:08:44
journal page the journals that out yet
00:08:46
but I still have a print kind of
00:08:47
document that I use for tracking did I
00:08:50
do this where do I have to improve
00:08:52
myself the Thursday mastermind which is
00:08:54
a 45-minute call we use uber conference
00:08:57
for free you could do the exact same
00:08:59
with a few of your friends or people
00:09:01
online
00:09:01
my very first mastermind was totally
00:09:03
online people I'd met that were other
00:09:05
internet entrepreneurs now from there I
00:09:07
have the Thursday mastermind I have the
00:09:10
weekly strategy journal page and I have
00:09:12
my Divi habit tracking and besides those
00:09:15
three things all I do is carry around in
00:09:17
that little pocket moleskin journal I
00:09:19
told you about because then I feel like
00:09:21
if something doesn't feel right at all
00:09:24
like you're off track you don't like
00:09:26
this job you're gaining someone and you
00:09:28
realize something's not right I write
00:09:30
down the intuitions because I can always
00:09:33
consciously articulate the next move
00:09:34
sometimes is easy I want to move to
00:09:37
California all the times it's not do I
00:09:39
stay in this relationship is this
00:09:41
business still what really excites me am
00:09:43
i proud of all the work I've created
00:09:45
those are things that may be better
00:09:48
governed by your intuition and better
00:09:49
understood so I just keep a log of all
00:09:51
the little intuitive impressions and
00:09:53
then I systematically explore them more
00:09:56
and then I take time to just go through
00:09:58
them and see what's behind them and I
00:10:00
pack them so I hope that was you guys
00:10:01
that's a little bit about my process for
00:10:03
consciously scripting your life which
00:10:05
has been my whole shtick for a while and
00:10:07
that's really the thing that made the
00:10:09
biggest difference for me going from
00:10:11
2425 where I had done nothing impressive
00:10:13
with my life very average student hadn't
00:10:16
done much besides traveled to now really
00:10:18
contributing and producing a lot and
00:10:20
having had a productive life the last
00:10:22
five or so years now before you go I
00:10:25
want you to leave a comment there below
00:10:26
let me know for you if you could
00:10:29
consciously script your life what would
00:10:31
be the first thing you think is
00:10:32
important hey guys well one of the
00:10:34
things that goes along with being in
00:10:36
Sage Mode like I talked about here is
00:10:38
being calm and being Sage now the biomat
00:10:42
is a pad you can put on your bed or on
00:10:45
the floor which uses technology that was
00:10:47
actually discovered by NASA to help you
00:10:49
reduce stress and fatigue now it
00:10:51
produces negative ions which are
00:10:53
considered nature's energizer and these
00:10:55
negative ions you can find in abundance
00:10:57
in places like forests and mountains
00:10:59
waterfalls and oceans
00:11:01
now the biomat in particular is
00:11:03
comprised of three parts that helps you
00:11:04
have that stress relief and that fatigue
00:11:06
relief now the biomat can also help with
00:11:09
pain relief and circulation it is FDA
00:11:12
cleared and one of the cool things is
00:11:14
that it profoundly affects both the
00:11:15
nervous system while also promoting deep
00:11:18
relaxation so it kind of has this dual
00:11:20
energizing and relaxing effect also the
00:11:23
people at the biomat store recommend and
00:11:26
encourage you to call for personalized
00:11:27
customer service and advice it's kind of
00:11:30
unique among companies now that
00:11:31
basically don't want to deal with you so
00:11:33
that is worth investigating as well and
00:11:35
like some customers have said it's
00:11:38
really restorative so a direct quote
00:11:39
from one person was that it's the
00:11:41
world's greatest power nap
00:11:43
check out the biomat link here on the
00:11:46
screen or in the description box there
00:11:48
below if you'd like to find out more
00:11:49
information on it
