    heart of its

    message Everything that we have seen up

    to this

    point prepares us for what we are about

    to
  • 00:07:24
    see The lamb of God has taken the scroll
  • 00:07:28
    from the hand of the father who sits on
  • 00:07:30
    the throne
  • 00:07:32
    And now it is time for the scroll's
  • 00:07:35
    contents to be revealed The one who is
  • 00:07:38
    worthy to open the scroll is opening the
  • 00:07:42
    scroll one seal at a
  • 00:07:46
    time And God is to be glorified And this

    world is to be
  • 00:07:52
    judged The lamb the lamb of God who came

    into the world the first time to
  • 00:07:58
    save not to judge the world but to save

    sinners is now seen by the Apostle John

    acting to unleash the wrath of

    God upon the same world that he came to

    It's a good
  • 00:08:18
    reminder that there are opportunities

    for

    salvation but if salvation is

    rejected it never removes the reality of

    judgment Receive Christ and you'll be

    saved Reject Christ and you will be

    judged So that opportunities to be saved

    are not for forever

    If today you hear the voice of the Lord

    through the preaching of his word If

    today you recognize yourself to be a
  • 00:08:49
    sinner estranged from God then know that
  • 00:08:52
    today is the day of
  • 00:08:54
    salvation Today is the day to turn from

    your sins and turn to Christ Today is

    the day to be saved because you are not

    guaranteed another

    opportunity beyond this moment

    And so we will see the world of

    humanity willing to believe what God

    say refusing to believe what God has

    seals is opened meeting with

    judgments that will exceed anything the

    world has ever seen before

    And God is telling us graciously

    mercifully telling us in advance exactly

    what is coming exactly how he is going

    to judge the
  • 00:09:44
    world That's what we meet

    with as we begin Revelation chapter

    earth And this morning we begin by

    seal And we can describe the contents of

    that first

    seal as deceptive

    Then I looked when the lamb opened one

    of the seven seals and I heard one of

    the four living creatures saying as with

    activity And the first seal reminds us

    that the tribulation period will begin

    that seven-year period that leads

    directly to the second coming of Christ

    That period will begin with a great
  • 00:11:32
    deception a great
  • 00:11:35
    delusion which will involve a great
  • 00:11:37
    counterfeit
  • 00:11:41
    This first seal doesn't directly refer
  • 00:11:44
    to the man of
  • 00:11:46
    sin but what it describes will be
  • 00:11:50
    spearheaded by the man of sin The man of
  • 00:11:53
    lawlessness a man of
  • 00:11:57
    deception will one day
  • 00:12:01
    arise The angel says "Come." And John

    tells us that it was
  • 00:12:07
    powerful as with a voice of
  • 00:12:12
    thunder Reminds us

    encourages our
  • 00:12:17
    hearts that events on this earth are not

    just taking place They are being called

    forth What we see on the world scene is

    not God weekly acquiescing to world

    events

    It is God powerfully

    directing world

    events What is about to happen happens

    because God through this angel calls it

    Come And as a result of the first seal a

    horse goes out to overcome And he

    Now I'm well aware there are multiple

    best I understand it from the verses And

    I believe the best explanation for this

    writer is that he emerges in a way that

    come But this isn't Christ This doesn't

    answer to his disciples about the signs

    of his coming at the end of the age The

    mentioned was a proliferation of false

    Christs

    Matthew 24:3 As he sat on the Mount of

    Olives the disciples came to him

    privately saying "Tell us when will

    these things be and what will be the

    sign of your coming and of the end of

    astray for many will come in my name
