- 00:00:21Hello, I am Georgina Rose. I'm a
- 00:00:23perennialist and polytheist and welcome
- 00:00:26back to the Pagan Perspectives podcast.
- 00:00:28In this podcast, I lend a pagan,
- 00:00:30esoteric, and metaphysical perspective
- 00:00:32to the mundane issues that go throughout
- 00:00:34our lives. Essentially, I take topics
- 00:00:36that relate to our sort of normal lives
- 00:00:38and then turn to mythology, esoterica,
- 00:00:41metaphysics, magic to understand it and
- 00:00:44deal with it and offer spiritual
- 00:00:46solutions to the things we deal with on
- 00:00:47the regular. And in this episode, I'm
- 00:00:49going to be talking about a topic that
- 00:00:51affects pretty much everyone, especially
- 00:00:53my female listeners, though also my male
- 00:00:56ones. I think this does sort of reach
- 00:00:58everyone and that's beauty, beauty
- 00:01:01standards, body image, that whole sort
- 00:01:04of can of worms, which is kind of a huge
- 00:01:08huge huge can of worms.
- 00:01:11Um, because it's something that is
- 00:01:15basically pushed to us all the time.
- 00:01:17It's brought up all the time, especially
- 00:01:19online, and it really gets to people. So
- 00:01:21I I would like to give a perhaps
- 00:01:25warning, perhaps encouragement. Um this
- 00:01:28episode is going to you know it's going
- 00:01:30to talk about what beauty is from a
- 00:01:32metaphysical perspective. There is a lot
- 00:01:33of metaphysics discussion um and sort of
- 00:01:35myth discussion and archetype discussion
- 00:01:37but you know I am going to talk a bit
- 00:01:39about body image issues um how objective
- 00:01:42or how subjective beauty actually is um
- 00:01:45our culture around beauty and and some
- 00:01:48sensitive topics around that. do in the
- 00:01:49outline briefly mention like eating
- 00:01:51disorders um and body dysmorphia and I'm
- 00:01:54going to get into things like ompic and
- 00:01:56skinny talk and some of these subjects
- 00:01:58that are really sort of buzzy in our
- 00:02:00culture that definitely might bother
- 00:02:02some people or or cause some people to
- 00:02:04have a sort of negative reaction. So if
- 00:02:06if if you are one of those people sort
- 00:02:08of struggle with these topics, I know uh
- 00:02:10most women, you know, struggle struggle
- 00:02:11with body image. This might be kind of
- 00:02:12sensitive in that regard. I I offer you
- 00:02:15two options. one, you might want to
- 00:02:17listen to another episode of this
- 00:02:18podcast, you know, if you think this
- 00:02:20podcast would not be productive to your
- 00:02:22journey, but two, if you want to kind
- 00:02:24of, you know, challenge some of those
- 00:02:26negative thoughts, um, and sort of see
- 00:02:28the truth about what beauty actually is,
- 00:02:30you know, this podcast could actually be
- 00:02:31quite healing for you, right? Because
- 00:02:33for me, I have dealt with body image
- 00:02:36issues in my life. I've mentioned that
- 00:02:37before. Um, and for me, some of these
- 00:02:40thoughts I'm going to discuss in this
- 00:02:41episode and some of these divine truths
- 00:02:42actually did help me with my body image
- 00:02:45issues. So, I really think that's kind
- 00:02:47of like a personal discernment thing,
- 00:02:50you know, and you can always, you know,
- 00:02:51click out at any point and come back to
- 00:02:52it, right? You don't need to listen to
- 00:02:54it all the way through in one go if that
- 00:02:56would really not be productive to your
- 00:02:57growth, right? Because look, at the end
- 00:02:59of the day, my goal is to help people
- 00:03:01become stronger oultists, stronger
- 00:03:03mystics, and to reunite with divinity,
- 00:03:05right? The whole goal of all this is the
- 00:03:07great work. And the great work is
- 00:03:08reuniting with the godhead. And you
- 00:03:12always want to do what is best for you
- 00:03:14to achieve the great work, right? we
- 00:03:15constantly want to think about the great
- 00:03:17work and how to use our true will to
- 00:03:19achieve the great work. So just check in
- 00:03:20with yourself before you listen. Um
- 00:03:23think about, you know, what what's going
- 00:03:24on with you in in this moment. So our
- 00:03:27culture right now is really going
- 00:03:28through a shift with our view on this
- 00:03:31subject. Um and that's really why I
- 00:03:32wanted to make this topic because right
- 00:03:34now um essentially the vibe has has
- 00:03:36shifted honestly. I mean I I almost want
- 00:03:37to say it's shifted because throughout
- 00:03:39the 2010s and the early 2020s um the big
- 00:03:41thing was body positivity, right? That
- 00:03:43was a real buzz. people who were like
- 00:03:45body positivity influencers got a ton a
- 00:03:48ton of views, right? And that that's
- 00:03:50pretty much dead, right? People are done
- 00:03:52with body positivity um for some good
- 00:03:54and some bad reasons. Um I have kind of
- 00:03:56like a multifaceted sort of opinion on
- 00:03:58that. And now, you know, we're back to
- 00:04:00uh thin is in, right? Um there's a big
- 00:04:03trend when I'm recording this called
- 00:04:05skinny talk. And what prompted me to
- 00:04:06make this podcast was an article that
- 00:04:08came out in the cut. Um, which is
- 00:04:10basically a publication that New Yorker
- 00:04:11puts out sort of exploring this woman,
- 00:04:14Liv Schmidt, who basically is sort of
- 00:04:16the the ring leader of Skinny Talk. And
- 00:04:18what they did is they went into
- 00:04:20basically this woman makes a lot of
- 00:04:21videos about how to lose weight and how
- 00:04:23to be the your your skinniest. And she
- 00:04:25really says like being as thin as
- 00:04:26possible, as beautiful as possible. and
- 00:04:28she had this pay-to-play group chat and
- 00:04:31the cut basically one of their reporters
- 00:04:33went into her group chat undercover and
- 00:04:36um took a lot of like screenshots and
- 00:04:37stuff and what it showed is that there
- 00:04:40were teenagers in the group chat and
- 00:04:42there was a lot of open discussion of
- 00:04:45anorexic behavior, right? Um and this
- 00:04:47woman does promote this under the guise
- 00:04:48of health. Now, this is not a drama
- 00:04:50podcast. The the drama around Liv
- 00:04:52Schmidt does not really matter to this
- 00:04:54conversation. If you're curious about
- 00:04:55that, feel free to read the cut article.
- 00:04:57Um, but what I want to talk about is
- 00:04:59basically what that represents, right?
- 00:05:00What what does it mean for our culture
- 00:05:02that we have gone from body positivity,
- 00:05:05right, to the point where it really did
- 00:05:06start to become actually very toxic, and
- 00:05:08I'm going to get into that in a bit, to
- 00:05:10skinny is amazing. And basically, what
- 00:05:12is the spiritual answer to this? Because
- 00:05:14the spiritual meaning of beauty is
- 00:05:16actually very different from the
- 00:05:18cultural meaning of beauty. And I think
- 00:05:20as mystics, we should return to the
- 00:05:22spiritual and the mythic definition of
- 00:05:24beauty and reject the everchanging
- 00:05:26cultural standards because we're really
- 00:05:27seeing a cultural whiplash right now.
- 00:05:29Right? It went from literally every body
- 00:05:30is beautiful. You don't need to change
- 00:05:32anything about yourself even if you are
- 00:05:34literally, you know, very sick because
- 00:05:36of certain lifestyle choices, right?
- 00:05:37There's nothing wrong with that.
- 00:05:38Societyy's the problem to your body is
- 00:05:41horrible. It's your fault that you're
- 00:05:43not perfect. You need to be as thin as
- 00:05:45you can humanly possibly be, right? you
- 00:05:47need to to hurt yourself to achieve that
- 00:05:49goal. Right? That's a whiplash. That is
- 00:05:51literally like swinging from one extreme
- 00:05:54to the other extreme. And this has
- 00:05:56basically been going on back and forth
- 00:05:58for decades. Right? In the early 2000s,
- 00:06:00it was very extreme thinness. Then it
- 00:06:02went to literally, you know, body
- 00:06:03positivity that got very extreme as
- 00:06:04well. And and I want to sort of help
- 00:06:06people figure out what the truth is
- 00:06:08because the truth is is in the middle.
- 00:06:09And until we recognize this, there's
- 00:06:11going to continue to be this pendulum
- 00:06:13swing effect where we're going from one
- 00:06:14unhealthy culture to another unhealthy
- 00:06:16culture back and forth and back and
- 00:06:17forth. Um, and I want to start with um,
- 00:06:19discussing body positivity. So, body
- 00:06:22positivity was a movement in which
- 00:06:24people sort of learn to accept and love
- 00:06:26their bodies. On the surface, I actually
- 00:06:28really like this idea. I think that
- 00:06:30insecurity is really detrimental to
- 00:06:32spiritual growth. I think that, you
- 00:06:34know, we should all strive to accept
- 00:06:36ourselves. But where body positivity
- 00:06:38went wrong is that it started to
- 00:06:40basically say that changing yourself is
- 00:06:42bad because you're already perfect. And
- 00:06:44the truth is sometimes we do need to
- 00:06:46change ourselves, right? Sometimes we
- 00:06:48are in a position where change is
- 00:06:50necessary, right? If if someone is you
- 00:06:52you know like like struggling with
- 00:06:53obesity, right? Um I think that if you
- 00:06:56are obese, you should not hate yourself,
- 00:06:58right? I think that's really messed up.
- 00:07:00I I don't support messaging like like
- 00:07:02you know hating yourself is never going
- 00:07:03to cause positive growth, right? It's
- 00:07:04going to cause you to self-sabotage. is
- 00:07:06going to cause you to make your
- 00:07:07situation worse. So, so I think if
- 00:07:09you're in that situation, you should
- 00:07:10accept where you are presently at and
- 00:07:12then change yourself for health reasons,
- 00:07:15right? Not for reasons that are based in
- 00:07:17self-hatred or contempt, right? Reasons
- 00:07:20that are about like making yourself
- 00:07:21better, right? And when I've known
- 00:07:22people who who, you know, struggle with
- 00:07:24obesity because it is a medical
- 00:07:25condition, right? Um, when they do it
- 00:07:28for health, they tend to actually feel
- 00:07:30better and not, you know, ruminate in
- 00:07:32self-hatred, right? And then at the end
- 00:07:33they actually reach a really healthy
- 00:07:35good goal, right? It ends well. It ends
- 00:07:37with them no longer being obese and
- 00:07:39actually healing themselves from the
- 00:07:40inside out and creating a healthier
- 00:07:42life, right? I think that's really the
- 00:07:44approach. Um, and I think telling people
- 00:07:46like, you know, it's healthy to be in a
- 00:07:48very, you know, bad physical situation
- 00:07:49is very counterproductive. I think it's
- 00:07:51damaging rhetoric. Um, and there was a
- 00:07:54body posit positivity influencer who
- 00:07:56actually died. Um, I remember that
- 00:07:57conversation and that was a real shock
- 00:07:59moment for people. Um and I think we
- 00:08:01should understand that you know health
- 00:08:03is really important but at the same time
- 00:08:05the message with emin body positivity
- 00:08:07that you shouldn't hate
- 00:08:08yourself that's a good message nobody
- 00:08:11should hate themselves because when we
- 00:08:12think about self-hatred I think we need
- 00:08:14to see it as the inverse of narcissism
- 00:08:15right because when we're looking at at
- 00:08:17narcissism narcissism is really based
- 00:08:19around the belief that you are
- 00:08:20individually completely separate
- 00:08:22completely completely unique right if
- 00:08:24you love yourself to such an extent that
- 00:08:26you're a narcissist right and you are
- 00:08:28the best person ever lived like you're
- 00:08:29very grandiose
- 00:08:31That's not rooted in reality. That's a
- 00:08:32delusion, right? And we and we recognize
- 00:08:34that. But if someone goes the other way
- 00:08:35where they think they are individually
- 00:08:37the worst person who's ever existed,
- 00:08:39right? Everyone hates them. There's
- 00:08:40nothing redeeming about them. They're
- 00:08:41horrible. Right? Is that not still kind
- 00:08:44of a narcissism? Because it is saying
- 00:08:45that you are special. You are unique in
- 00:08:47a way that no one else is, right? You
- 00:08:48are independently the worst human who's
- 00:08:51ever existed. I think we need to see
- 00:08:52that as a foil to narcissism. In truth,
- 00:08:54every single person has good things and
- 00:08:56bad things about them. Nobody is
- 00:08:58uniquely perfect. Nobody's uniquely
- 00:09:00terrible and and I think you know moving
- 00:09:01away from both of these extremes is
- 00:09:03really important because the thing is if
- 00:09:04you if you see yourself as perfect
- 00:09:06that's typically rooted in some sort of
- 00:09:08lack right and if you see yourself as
- 00:09:09horrible it's rooted in some sort of
- 00:09:11belief of specialness right the thing is
- 00:09:13we are all special in that we all have a
- 00:09:14spark of divinity in us but there is no
- 00:09:16person who has less or more of a spark
- 00:09:17of divinity in them right we all are
- 00:09:19divine in our own right but at the same
- 00:09:21time we're not gods and I
- 00:09:23think understanding that we're special
- 00:09:25and partisan and cosmic while also not
- 00:09:27you know seeing ourselves as holy
- 00:09:28unique is very important because we
- 00:09:30understand metaphysically there is no
- 00:09:31separation, right? So, so at the end of
- 00:09:33the day, none of us are horrible. None
- 00:09:35of us are amazing. We're all kind of
- 00:09:36mixed, right? There's good and bad
- 00:09:38within all things, right? Dualism is
- 00:09:40false, right? There's there's there's
- 00:09:41good and bad and all. The yin and the
- 00:09:43yang exist in all of us. So, no, you're
- 00:09:46not worse than everyone else. You're not
- 00:09:47uglier than everyone else, but you're
- 00:09:49also not like entirely perfect. And body
- 00:09:52positivity, if you think about it, is
- 00:09:54really a message that everyone is
- 00:09:55perfect. And that doesn't really make
- 00:09:57sense. Um, everyone has flaws, right?
- 00:10:00And and I think we need to accept our
- 00:10:01flaws and understand that they're there
- 00:10:03without losing our minds about it. Um,
- 00:10:04so body positivity, it also I think kind
- 00:10:07of sets people up for failure, right?
- 00:10:09Because if you sort of set the standard
- 00:10:11at loving everything about yourself, I
- 00:10:13think in a sense that's actually kind of
- 00:10:15unrealistic because we all have things
- 00:10:16we don't love about ourselves, right? We
- 00:10:18all have a shadow, right? We all have,
- 00:10:20you know, I look I look I'm an
- 00:10:21astrologer, right? I look at people's
- 00:10:23charts all day. I give people readings
- 00:10:24and there are good things and bad things
- 00:10:26in every person's chart I've ever looked
- 00:10:27at. I've never seen anyone who had a
- 00:10:29perfectly good chart or perfectly bad
- 00:10:31chart. Everyone has something they need
- 00:10:33to remediate, right? Um and so if you
- 00:10:35define yourself as perfect and you're
- 00:10:36like, I'm perfect as I am, you are
- 00:10:38setting yourself for failure because the
- 00:10:40moment you see something within yourself
- 00:10:41or you do something that is not perfect,
- 00:10:43basically you're going to have an ego
- 00:10:44fracture, right? You're going to have a
- 00:10:47ego collapse. And when we're talking
- 00:10:49about the ego, we're talking about our
- 00:10:50our self. Um so in a sense yes the ego
- 00:10:53always exists. You cannot kill the ego
- 00:10:54without death. But we get these sort of
- 00:10:56like false egos within our mind where
- 00:10:58it's like how we perceive ourselves. I
- 00:11:00want to call it the false ego. When
- 00:11:01people talk about ego death they're
- 00:11:03often talking about false ego fractures.
- 00:11:05And when you you know see yourself as
- 00:11:06like I am the most I am perfect. I am
- 00:11:08perfect as I am. You're pro you're
- 00:11:09basically setting yourself up for a
- 00:11:11involuntary ego fracture right? You're
- 00:11:13setting yourself up for failure. You're
- 00:11:15not setting yourself up with a good sort
- 00:11:17of starting ground. There was a concept
- 00:11:19that went around. that never got a lot
- 00:11:21of attention um because it's not you
- 00:11:22know that exciting called body
- 00:11:24neutrality and basically it's where you
- 00:11:27kind of see your body as a thing that is
- 00:11:29a sort of machine where you're like okay
- 00:11:32my legs are there to help me run my skin
- 00:11:34is there to feel the sunshine right it's
- 00:11:37basically like seeing yourself kind of
- 00:11:39in a utilitarian way and I I I I like
- 00:11:42this more actually I think for people
- 00:11:44who struggle with body image this is
- 00:11:45probably the stance that you might want
- 00:11:47to take early on your healing journey
- 00:11:49because of course beauty is good and I'm
- 00:11:50going to get into that. But if you are
- 00:11:52in a place where you are really
- 00:11:53struggling, I think the first thing you
- 00:11:55need to do is actually move towards body
- 00:11:56neutrality and seeing your body as more
- 00:11:58utilitarian because your perception of
- 00:12:00beauty is really already kind of skewed.
- 00:12:03And I'm going to get into how our
- 00:12:04perception of beauty is skewed. Um, so I
- 00:12:06think for your sort of factory reset
- 00:12:07towards, you know, developing a good
- 00:12:09relationship with beauty and the self,
- 00:12:10you need to just see your body as a
- 00:12:12thing that works. Um, because if you do
- 00:12:13that, you're inherently going to take
- 00:12:14care of yourself because you have to
- 00:12:16sort of take care of the car you are
- 00:12:17living in, right? you wouldn't, you
- 00:12:19know, starve it. You wouldn't overfeed
- 00:12:20it, right? You would give it the right
- 00:12:21amount of gas. If you put too much gas
- 00:12:22in a car, your car might catch on fire
- 00:12:24at the gas pump. If you put too little,
- 00:12:25your car is going to break down on the
- 00:12:27highway. So, I think that type of stance
- 00:12:29is really good when people are early on
- 00:12:30in this type of journey. Um, I like
- 00:12:32this. This never went viral because it's
- 00:12:33not that exciting. It's not that cool,
- 00:12:35right? And it doesn't feel as good as
- 00:12:37like immediately validating everything
- 00:12:38about yourself, but I don't think it
- 00:12:40sets you up for failure because your
- 00:12:41body will always have a utilitarian
- 00:12:43function of getting you throughout the
- 00:12:44world. Now, the new trend is the other
- 00:12:47extreme, right? Um, people saw that body
- 00:12:50positivity was hurting people and
- 00:12:52they're like, "Okay, well, this is
- 00:12:53delusion. This is horrible." And so,
- 00:12:55they went the other extreme, which which
- 00:12:57I I see how this started to happen, but
- 00:12:59because nobody on the internet can be
- 00:13:00normal and nuanced and reasonable. It
- 00:13:02went immediately back to like early
- 00:13:042000s diet culture, body negativity.
- 00:13:07It's it's body negativity, right? Um,
- 00:13:09and there's this whole community called
- 00:13:10Skinny Talk where people are like giving
- 00:13:13tips on you like how to be as perfect as
- 00:13:15possible. And you're also seeing in the
- 00:13:17skincare world. Um, a big boom like
- 00:13:19there's a real anti-aging obsession
- 00:13:21going on right now. Um, there was a big
- 00:13:24news story a couple months back,
- 00:13:25probably like a year ago back now. I'm
- 00:13:27not really good at being topical and on
- 00:13:29time. Um, where basically Sephoras were
- 00:13:31getting inundated with children as young
- 00:13:33as seven trying to get anti-aging
- 00:13:36skincare because they're so scared of
- 00:13:37aging. Um, and there were actually
- 00:13:39reports of young girls getting chemical
- 00:13:41burns from using retinols and extreme ex
- 00:13:44um, exfoliants at ages that their skin
- 00:13:46was simply not ready to handle that. Um,
- 00:13:48so right now it's like people have put
- 00:13:52our current version of beauty up like an
- 00:13:54idol, right? Like it's not it's not
- 00:13:57reasonable because the thing is when you
- 00:13:59take beauty to this extreme that it
- 00:14:02starts becoming I mean I'm just going to
- 00:14:03call it vanity, right? um you actually
- 00:14:06end up harming yourself and actually
- 00:14:08getting further away from the divine
- 00:14:10conception of beauty, right? Like if if
- 00:14:11you, you know, get really into skinny
- 00:14:13talk and you watch these videos about
- 00:14:14how you're only supposed to have like
- 00:14:15three bites of every dish you like and
- 00:14:18that's it, like you're going to hurt
- 00:14:20yourself, right? People who are, you
- 00:14:22know, severely underweight are also not
- 00:14:25actually, you know, in a divine state of
- 00:14:27beauty, right? They they are unhealthy,
- 00:14:29right? That is unhealthy. If you are so
- 00:14:32fixated on skincare that you have to use
- 00:14:3590 serums before you go to sleep, there
- 00:14:37are these videos called morning shed
- 00:14:38where people put mouth tape over their
- 00:14:40mouth which by the way can cause you to
- 00:14:42exfixiate in your sleep. So bad idea. Um
- 00:14:44and then they use like anti-rinkle
- 00:14:46straws and they they do all sorts of
- 00:14:48crazy things. There's also a whole um
- 00:14:50trend of sun avoidance where basically
- 00:14:52you don't go outside before between
- 00:14:5410:00 a.m. and 400 pm, right? And you go
- 00:14:56to bed with all the stuff on your face.
- 00:14:58you um it's it's really extreme right
- 00:15:01you avoid the sun entirely because of
- 00:15:03course the sun can cause aging right the
- 00:15:04sun can also give us cancer um the sun
- 00:15:07too much sun is bad for you um but at
- 00:15:09the same time we need sun to be happy
- 00:15:11right vitamin D inhibits our joy and
- 00:15:14metaphysically the sun is the center of
- 00:15:16all life and vitality right we need
- 00:15:18solar energy in our lives and
- 00:15:19interestingly when people do
- 00:15:20purification from miasma and miasma does
- 00:15:23relate to a lot of things like
- 00:15:24depression and whatnot um they actually
- 00:15:26invoke the sun right the sun is a healer
- 00:15:29and and that's a real moment where
- 00:15:30metaphysics gets proven by science when
- 00:15:32we understand you know solar work can
- 00:15:34cure me asma on a physical on a
- 00:15:35spiritual level but on a physical level
- 00:15:37vitamin D can actually diminish
- 00:15:39depression symptoms in people right
- 00:15:40that's one of those where science later
- 00:15:42in the future proved an ancient
- 00:15:43metaphysical idea right um obviously
- 00:15:46like like I'm not saying don't wear
- 00:15:47sunscreen to be clear um I think
- 00:15:49sunscreen is important because it
- 00:15:50prevents cancer and I think there's
- 00:15:52something messed up that we're more
- 00:15:53focused on sunscreen to prevent
- 00:15:55wrinkling than to prevent cancer when
- 00:15:56cancer is definitely like a lot worse
- 00:15:58than having a few wrinkles on your
- 00:15:59forehead. But yeah, we need the sun. You
- 00:16:01need to live your life with with the
- 00:16:03skincare stuff. I see it as people like
- 00:16:04rejecting life in a sense, right?
- 00:16:06Because if you're and there was a really
- 00:16:08interesting article I read called, "Is
- 00:16:10anyone having sex after their 10step
- 00:16:12skincare routine?" And I know that
- 00:16:14sounds kind of like like in your face,
- 00:16:16but think about it. If you're going to
- 00:16:17sleep with mouth tape and eye mask and,
- 00:16:20you know, a V strap to make your jawline
- 00:16:22sharper when you're sleeping, like are
- 00:16:24you having sex? Are you are you making
- 00:16:27love with the jawline strap on? Like
- 00:16:29does that stay on during sex? Cuz like
- 00:16:32people, you know, they have sex before
- 00:16:33they go to bed and they wake up. And
- 00:16:34like if you're, you know, in a long-term
- 00:16:35committed relationship, like that's kind
- 00:16:37of part of your life. Um I've discussed
- 00:16:38extensively how sex is the unification
- 00:16:41of opposites as transcendent. Um arrows
- 00:16:43can get us to agape, right? The the
- 00:16:45these things are important. And like,
- 00:16:47you know, if we don't have sex at any
- 00:16:48point, you know, the species will die
- 00:16:50off, which would be a little bit
- 00:16:51unpleasant. We maybe don't want to all
- 00:16:52die off, but yeah. I mean, how can you
- 00:16:54even like have relationships if you're
- 00:16:55sleeping like that? Um, also, I don't
- 00:16:57know how a person can fall asleep with
- 00:16:58all that stuff on their face. I think I
- 00:17:00would rip it off after 10 minutes. But,
- 00:17:02I mean, it's a good point. And with with
- 00:17:03sun avoidance, right? Like going out in
- 00:17:05the sun is so fun, right? Going on
- 00:17:07hikes, honoring nature. As pagans, we
- 00:17:10understand we honor nature. We honor the
- 00:17:12seasons, right? The seasonal calendar of
- 00:17:14the year is life, death, rebirth
- 00:17:16epitomized, right? It is the divine
- 00:17:17cycle. That's the reason why we have
- 00:17:19Sabbaths on, you know, midsummer and the
- 00:17:22winter solstice and all these dates
- 00:17:24because we know the sun moving and
- 00:17:25turning represents the divine move and
- 00:17:28turn throughout our lives. And if we're
- 00:17:29avoiding that between 10:00 a.m. and 400
- 00:17:31p.m. every single day, we're sort of
- 00:17:33avoiding the divine, right? It becomes a
- 00:17:35rejection of life. It
- 00:17:37becomes really kind of freaky. And when
- 00:17:39we think about, you know, skinny talk
- 00:17:40and um pe, you know, extreme caloric
- 00:17:43restriction, right? Um I think people
- 00:17:45should eat healthy. Okay, I have a
- 00:17:47radical opinion on the internet of you
- 00:17:49should eat a healthy balanced diet in a
- 00:17:51way that keeps you at a healthy body
- 00:17:53weight, right? Between, you know, a
- 00:17:55regular BMI, right? Not underweight, not
- 00:17:58overweight. I think that's pretty much
- 00:17:59the ideal. I have this crazy position
- 00:18:01that being healthy is the ideal way to
- 00:18:03live. I know Blasphemy burned me at the
- 00:18:06stake, honestly, for that one. Um, it's
- 00:18:08not like, you know, living as long as
- 00:18:10you can and having, you know, good
- 00:18:11experiences is is important. No, no, you
- 00:18:13got to be perfect for TikTok, right?
- 00:18:15That's so so I'm wrong. Of course,
- 00:18:17cancel me in the comments below if if
- 00:18:19you think I'm delusional. Um but yeah, I
- 00:18:21think people should be healthy and um
- 00:18:22you know, if if you severely undereat
- 00:18:24for a long um period of time, I mean,
- 00:18:27you risk death, infertility,
- 00:18:29osteoporosis, like it's really bad
- 00:18:31stuff. It actually destroys you. And um
- 00:18:34when you are kind of having these these
- 00:18:36things where it is starting to become
- 00:18:37overkill, you are in a sense destroying
- 00:18:40your beauty, right? You're destroying
- 00:18:42yourself. You're destroying your body.
- 00:18:44And we understand on a metaphysical
- 00:18:45level, mind, body, spirit, it's a
- 00:18:48triangle, right? They're completely
- 00:18:50related. When your body is suffering, so
- 00:18:52is your mind, your intellectual
- 00:18:54capacities. And actually, we know people
- 00:18:55with highly restrictive eating habits
- 00:18:57actually do have cognitive decline. They
- 00:18:59literally like like their brain cells
- 00:19:01die. Their IQ lowers. And we understand
- 00:19:04that it affects our spiritual health. If
- 00:19:06you are destroying your physical body,
- 00:19:08you are destroying your spiritual body.
- 00:19:10That goes in both directions, right?
- 00:19:12That goes in all directions. you are
- 00:19:13doing anything that hurts yourself
- 00:19:14physically, you are hurting yourself
- 00:19:16spiritually, right? And we need to
- 00:19:18consider all these three three things as
- 00:19:19being linked. And what happens is when
- 00:19:20people get into these crazy regimens is
- 00:19:22they become hyperfixated on and it
- 00:19:25destroys their mental health. I mean, I
- 00:19:26um actually this this is a strange story
- 00:19:29from my life I didn't know I would ever
- 00:19:30share, but I briefly worked at a spray
- 00:19:33tanning salon. Okay, look guys, did it
- 00:19:36for the check. I was young and I I
- 00:19:39needed some work experience. So, I
- 00:19:41actually I did I was a spray tan
- 00:19:43technician, which is really funny since
- 00:19:45I'm actually quite pale and I I actually
- 00:19:47I don't like the look of spray tans. I
- 00:19:49think they look really artificial. Um,
- 00:19:51but I did I worked at a tanning salon
- 00:19:53for like a month. Um, and it I I it was
- 00:19:55not good. Not Not my best experience,
- 00:19:56but it was really interesting because
- 00:19:58when I had girls come into my booth, so
- 00:20:00when you're a spray tanner, right, like
- 00:20:02the the people are naked. So, I held
- 00:20:04like a spray tanning gun and the girls
- 00:20:05got naked and I did I spray tanned their
- 00:20:07naked bodies and I saw a lot of naked
- 00:20:10people. Like all day I saw naked people
- 00:20:12and um it was actually kind of
- 00:20:14interesting because I saw what people
- 00:20:15actually looked like in real life cuz
- 00:20:17you know when someone's like in front of
- 00:20:18you in like the horrible lighting
- 00:20:19that's, you know, really bright so I can
- 00:20:21see all that I'm doing. I mean, you get
- 00:20:22you get an interesting perspective on
- 00:20:23how the average person looks because I
- 00:20:25do think social media skews how people
- 00:20:27look because most images on social media
- 00:20:29are filtered, edited, right? you don't
- 00:20:31really see how real humans look if
- 00:20:32you're terminally online. So, I saw a
- 00:20:34lot of people in real life. But what
- 00:20:35what I also found the most sad, I guess,
- 00:20:38was women would come into my booth all
- 00:20:40the time and I would always like small
- 00:20:42chat with them because like when you're
- 00:20:43looking at a naked person, you know,
- 00:20:44it's kind of awkward if you don't like
- 00:20:46talk to them. Like it's just kind of
- 00:20:47weird. So, I would ask them like, "Okay,
- 00:20:49what are you getting this spray tan
- 00:20:50for?" It felt like an easy small talk
- 00:20:52question. And so often girls would come
- 00:20:54into my booth and they would say, "I
- 00:20:57hate my pale skin. I feel ugly. No guy
- 00:21:00is ever going to want me, right? Like
- 00:21:01I'm going on a date with my boyfriend. I
- 00:21:03don't want him to like, you know, take
- 00:21:04my clothes off and see me looking
- 00:21:06disgusting and pale. And I I always
- 00:21:09struggled to respond to these girls
- 00:21:10because I was be looking at them, you
- 00:21:12know, naked and pale in front of me. And
- 00:21:14I would be like, there's nothing really
- 00:21:15wrong with you, right? Like you look you
- 00:21:18look good. Um, and they would they
- 00:21:20would, you know, basically get a
- 00:21:20dysmorphia with it where they would
- 00:21:22never think they were tan enough, right?
- 00:21:24These girls would keep getting darker
- 00:21:25and darker spray tans to the point where
- 00:21:27they looked like really bad um because
- 00:21:30they were that insecure about something
- 00:21:32that you really can't do anything about
- 00:21:33your skin tone. Like you if you're pale,
- 00:21:34like you're pale. I mean, there's
- 00:21:36there's not much that can be done there.
- 00:21:38I mean, I'm guess I'm glad they were
- 00:21:39getting like spray tans instead of going
- 00:21:41in tan tanning booths and like, you
- 00:21:42know, maximizing their cancer potential,
- 00:21:45but yeah, it was it made me kind of sad.
- 00:21:47And then that's one of the many many
- 00:21:48reasons why I'm not I did that so
- 00:21:51briefly. It was just not a good fit for
- 00:21:53me. Um, but yeah, it was it was very
- 00:21:55sad. And I think this is where I get
- 00:21:57into dysmorphia and and one where I want
- 00:21:59to talk about body dysmorphia because we
- 00:22:02get this thing with with ourselves
- 00:22:03called ego attachments, right? Where we
- 00:22:05have these like false egos that we
- 00:22:07believe are true false perceptions of
- 00:22:09ourselves. And on a spiritual level,
- 00:22:10these things are toxic and disruptive.
- 00:22:13They need to be destroyed. These false
- 00:22:15egos block us from our true self. Right?
- 00:22:18I talk a lot about the true will and how
- 00:22:19discovering your true will is vital in
- 00:22:22order to achieve the great work in order
- 00:22:23to have you know your your fullest
- 00:22:25potential be reached. Right? Your true
- 00:22:26will is something that is intrinsic to
- 00:22:28you. Right? You have had your true will
- 00:22:31within you since before you were born.
- 00:22:33Right? Your true will is your connection
- 00:22:35to the divine. Right? Your true will.
- 00:22:36You can call it so many different
- 00:22:37things. Your higher purpose, your pure
- 00:22:39will, whatever you want to call it. You
- 00:22:41can even use the new age term soul
- 00:22:42contract if you would like. Right? This
- 00:22:44is your fate and you need to choose to
- 00:22:47follow that path, right? You need to do
- 00:22:50that. And to discover your true will,
- 00:22:52you need to get rid of these false
- 00:22:54perceptions, right? We go down these
- 00:22:55false paths all the time because we as
- 00:22:57humans are easily capable of delusion,
- 00:23:00right? We delude ourselves. The worst
- 00:23:02person you can lie to is yourself. And
- 00:23:04most people do lie to themselves. And
- 00:23:06the lies we tell ourselves are
- 00:23:08completely influenced by culture. If our
- 00:23:10culture did not say pale skin was ugly,
- 00:23:12I don't think I would have had to see
- 00:23:14for hours at a day women in front of me
- 00:23:16on the brink of crying talking about how
- 00:23:19much they hated their skin tone. Right?
- 00:23:21And that was a really eye-opening
- 00:23:23experience. Um, and so we need to
- 00:23:26destroy these false perceptions. And our
- 00:23:28world wants to make us sick. I think
- 00:23:31that's a that's a hard thing to admit,
- 00:23:33but I think it's true. Our culture wants
- 00:23:35us sick. Our norms within our society
- 00:23:39are unhealthy. Okay, if you think about
- 00:23:42the average person, right, the the
- 00:23:44average person, right, they live an
- 00:23:46unhealthy lifestyle. They have poor
- 00:23:47mental health and they do a lot of
- 00:23:50things to make their health worse on the
- 00:23:51regular, right? Um I think alcohol use
- 00:23:53is normalized to a really dangerous
- 00:23:55extent, right? I don't think, you know,
- 00:23:56having a drink or two is bad, but I
- 00:23:58think, you know, there's so many people
- 00:23:59who are just casual alcoholics, right?
- 00:24:01Um once again, high obesity rates are a
- 00:24:04problem. Um, and obesity should be seen
- 00:24:06as, you know, a medical problem, not
- 00:24:07shamed or ridiculed, but it shouldn't be
- 00:24:09normalized, if you get what I'm saying.
- 00:24:11Um, you know, we we live in an unhealthy
- 00:24:14world in so many ways. And there's so
- 00:24:15many unhealthy things we're taught. And
- 00:24:17what we are lied to about beauty is one
- 00:24:19of those unhealthy things, right? We're
- 00:24:21told to hurt ourselves to be perfect,
- 00:24:24right? We're given this false idea of
- 00:24:26perfection that's not based in mythic
- 00:24:28truth. And I'm going to get into like
- 00:24:30traditional esoteric ideas of beauty in
- 00:24:32a bit. Um, and we need to break out of
- 00:24:34these things. We need to recognize the
- 00:24:36norm is not my true will. The norm is
- 00:24:39not healthy. The norm of our society is
- 00:24:41not anyone's true will. You are not
- 00:24:44meant to live a life that makes you feel
- 00:24:46miserable and be miserable all the time.
- 00:24:47You simply are not. And you have the
- 00:24:49power within you vested in that will in
- 00:24:52order to make change. Magic itself is
- 00:24:54using the will to enact change. By
- 00:24:56discovering your true will and by
- 00:24:58rejecting these ego attachments, you can
- 00:25:02change things, right? You have that
- 00:25:04power. We're also told we have much less
- 00:25:06power over ourselves and our lives than
- 00:25:07we actually do. We are way more
- 00:25:08autonomous and higher agency than people
- 00:25:10understand that we are. So throw it
- 00:25:13away. Throw it in the trash can. Do not
- 00:25:16invest your entire self-worth in
- 00:25:18everchanging beauty standards. Because
- 00:25:20the thing is, beauty does not change.
- 00:25:22Beauty is unchanging. It is perennial,
- 00:25:25right? These beauty standards, like
- 00:25:27whether you're supposed to look like
- 00:25:28Kate Moss or Sydney Sweeney or whatever,
- 00:25:30of course, those are two objectively
- 00:25:31beautiful women, but they look
- 00:25:33completely different, right? There's no
- 00:25:34way that beauty itself has changed that
- 00:25:36much in like 20 years, right? That
- 00:25:38doesn't make any sense. So, we need to
- 00:25:39consider what beauty really is. So,
- 00:25:41throw internet beauty standards away,
- 00:25:44right? You are not supposed to look like
- 00:25:46you you look under 15 social media
- 00:25:48filters, right? Everything you look at
- 00:25:50is filtered. Everything you look at is
- 00:25:51photoshopped. Assume that. Okay? Don't
- 00:25:53look at any image on the internet and
- 00:25:54think anything else of it. Assume it is
- 00:25:56photoshopped fake, right? Base what
- 00:25:58normal people look like based on the
- 00:26:00normal people you see in your town.
- 00:26:01Right? That's the real like normies.
- 00:26:04Okay? Like you see people getting so
- 00:26:05delusional with it. Like I saw someone
- 00:26:07saying Sydney Sweeney is mid. Like what?
- 00:26:09Sydney Sweeney is is incredibly
- 00:26:11gorgeous. She's she's like incredible.
- 00:26:13So throw it all away. Okay. Don't care
- 00:26:16about changing beauty standards, right?
- 00:26:18Don't go, "Well, okay, Slim Thick was
- 00:26:20cool five years ago, but now I'm
- 00:26:22supposed to be a rail, so I guess I have
- 00:26:24to change my body all the time, right?"
- 00:26:25Like the Kardashians, who are so
- 00:26:27obnoxious. Um, they went from like BBLs
- 00:26:30to like being like borderline
- 00:26:32underweight in like a year, like there's
- 00:26:35no point in keeping up with that, right?
- 00:26:37That's just going to drive you crazy,
- 00:26:39right? It's just going to make you feel
- 00:26:40nuts. And when you are distracted by
- 00:26:43keeping up with the Joneses, you're not
- 00:26:45focused on your spiritual growth. you're
- 00:26:47not focused on what really matters
- 00:26:49because this is not the most important
- 00:26:51thing. Okay? Looking hot on TikTok is
- 00:26:53not the most important thing. It is not
- 00:26:55what you should define your life by. You
- 00:26:57should define your life by higher
- 00:26:58things. Virtue, true will, the gods.
- 00:27:01Those are the things that matter, right?
- 00:27:03This does not matter. Rip it out of
- 00:27:06your head. And it's typically, you know,
- 00:27:07rooted deep in our psyche because we've
- 00:27:09been brainwashed from a young age to
- 00:27:10believe this stuff. Throw it away.
- 00:27:12Beauty is real. So, let's talk about
- 00:27:15what beauty actually is. So, beauty is
- 00:27:18not any of the things our culture says
- 00:27:20beauty is. Ignore it. But beauty is
- 00:27:22real, right? Beauty is objective, which
- 00:27:25sounds crazy me saying that after saying
- 00:27:27what I just said, but hear me out. Hear
- 00:27:29me out. Hear me out. Okay? So, in our
- 00:27:32culture, beauty is seen as subjective or
- 00:27:36changing, right? And that's actually
- 00:27:38where bad beauty standards come from,
- 00:27:39right? Because it comes on this idea
- 00:27:41that beauty shifts, right? What was
- 00:27:43beautiful 100 years ago is not beautiful
- 00:27:45now and so on and so on, right? That
- 00:27:48implies subjectivity, right? And of
- 00:27:50course, beauty is somewhat subjective,
- 00:27:53right? People like different things.
- 00:27:54People have different aesthetics.
- 00:27:55There's a range of what is beautiful,
- 00:27:57right? There's not one single beautiful
- 00:27:59thing, right? We all look different,
- 00:28:01right? And we should embrace our
- 00:28:02differences. I do not think we should
- 00:28:04all congeal onto one singular mold. Like
- 00:28:07there's this discussion of this thing
- 00:28:08called Instagram face. Instagram face is
- 00:28:11basically how like so many women have
- 00:28:13gotten a lot of the same cosmetic
- 00:28:14procedures done that they all look the
- 00:28:15same. Like if you watch a period drama,
- 00:28:17you'll see nobody looks like they were
- 00:28:18actually from that period. That's
- 00:28:20Instagram face, right? I'm not
- 00:28:22advocating for metaphysical Instagram
- 00:28:24face. Okay? We need to understand what
- 00:28:26we look like and embrace our differences
- 00:28:28while understanding beauty is real. So
- 00:28:31where does beauty come from? So beauty
- 00:28:33is a divine concept. So within plonism
- 00:28:36which is like a philosophy related to
- 00:28:38polytheism this idea of forms or things
- 00:28:40that objectively exist and these forms
- 00:28:43come from the divine source the divine
- 00:28:45itself. So you know these forms are
- 00:28:47things like virtue truth and one of them
- 00:28:49is beauty and we need to see these forms
- 00:28:52as interrelated. So beauty and truth
- 00:28:54link and truth and the gods link. So by
- 00:28:58doing things that bring us closer to the
- 00:28:59gods we become more beautiful and beauty
- 00:29:02is downstream of the gods. So we need to
- 00:29:06first understand that that inherently
- 00:29:08implies beauty and health are linked. So
- 00:29:12what brings us closer to the gods as a
- 00:29:14question. So when we're looking at
- 00:29:16getting closer to the gods as a as a
- 00:29:18process, as a question, as a
- 00:29:19conversation, how do you do that? So
- 00:29:21first you find your true will. Then you
- 00:29:23purify yourself and be miasma. And then
- 00:29:25you do mystic devotional work. Okay?
- 00:29:26Those are kind of the things that bring
- 00:29:27us closer to the go the gods. And one of
- 00:29:30those things is virtue or like you know
- 00:29:33doing good things. you know doing
- 00:29:35mysticism and you know divorcing
- 00:29:37ourselves from the ego but what on earth
- 00:29:39does that mean for how do we become
- 00:29:40beautiful these seem themes seem so
- 00:29:43unrelated and I think we need to
- 00:29:44understand what is what is beauty in in
- 00:29:47the eyes of the gods so where you can
- 00:29:49get that is actually look at artwork
- 00:29:53depicting the gods the gods and the
- 00:29:55goddesses right because this is for men
- 00:29:57and women men have just as many crazy
- 00:29:59ideas about beauty right men think they
- 00:30:02need to like have 23 three like almost
- 00:30:05no body fat, right? And they need to be
- 00:30:07like bodybuilders, which you can't do
- 00:30:08without taking steroids, which are bad
- 00:30:09for you. So for men, this applies too,
- 00:30:11right? Men, you are included in this
- 00:30:13conversation. Look at art of gods. Look
- 00:30:16at them like actually spend some time
- 00:30:18and look at them across cultures, right?
- 00:30:20See the differences because you will see
- 00:30:22some differences, but you'll see a lot
- 00:30:23of core similarities, right? You'll see
- 00:30:26a lot of things that sort of pop up
- 00:30:27again and again. For me, what I notice
- 00:30:29is you see a natural kind of face,
- 00:30:32right? one that has not had like plastic
- 00:30:34surgery on it and you see a healthy body
- 00:30:37weight, right? You don't see extreme
- 00:30:39overweightness. You don't see
- 00:30:41underweightness, right? You see like
- 00:30:43actually a very healthy sustainable body
- 00:30:45type, right? A body type that allows you
- 00:30:47to do rituals, do yoga, have fertility,
- 00:30:51right? Reach your goals, reach physical
- 00:30:53peaks, right? Healthy body weight,
- 00:30:56right? That that's the first thing. And
- 00:30:58you see generally health, clear skin.
- 00:31:01Where does clear skin come from? Not
- 00:31:03putting 9 million products on your face.
- 00:31:05It comes from health, right? Skin care.
- 00:31:09You know, these products are never going
- 00:31:10to do as much as simply being healthy,
- 00:31:12right? I advocate for health, not
- 00:31:15extremes, right? Live your life. Enjoy
- 00:31:17the fullness of life. That's why I went
- 00:31:19so hard against these extreme ideals.
- 00:31:22That's crazy. You don't need to cut out
- 00:31:23every food group. None of that. Throw
- 00:31:25that in the trash, too. Right? Just
- 00:31:27simply live the life we are meant to
- 00:31:29live. live the life that our ancestors
- 00:31:30lived in terms of food and exercise,
- 00:31:33right? Have fun. Live a life of fun,
- 00:31:35right? Don't be ruled by these things.
- 00:31:37You don't want to be in like
- 00:31:38overthinking jail where you're thinking
- 00:31:40constantly about this stuff. You want to
- 00:31:42simply live, right? The gods lived. We
- 00:31:44remember them by their myths, right? And
- 00:31:46even gods that represent beauty, right?
- 00:31:48Apollo and Venus. Apollo is very much
- 00:31:50like male beauty, Venus, female beauty,
- 00:31:52right? They lived, right? Well, not
- 00:31:55lived in the same way, but you get what
- 00:31:56I'm saying, right? Their acolytes lived.
- 00:31:58they didn't go insane. Um, so so strive
- 00:32:01strive for health, okay? Um, and you you
- 00:32:05really should spend some time studying
- 00:32:06these images because they are not the
- 00:32:07images you see on social media. They're
- 00:32:09really
- 00:32:10not. It doesn't look like they shot 900
- 00:32:13milligrams of steroids up their
- 00:32:16and it doesn't look like they haven't
- 00:32:17had a meal in 10 days, right? Neither of
- 00:32:20those are beautiful. And they also
- 00:32:21aren't denying self-care because, you
- 00:32:24know, if you don't take care of
- 00:32:25yourself, right? If if you don't, you
- 00:32:26know, live a somewhat healthy lifestyle,
- 00:32:28you're going to suffer, right? And it
- 00:32:30doesn't promote that either. It's
- 00:32:31balanced. It's reasonable. It's
- 00:32:33practical, right? That is really what
- 00:32:35beauty is. Beauty is what brings you up,
- 00:32:38right? Anything that hurts you in any
- 00:32:40way is not bringing you up. What brings
- 00:32:42you up is the beautiful, right? The
- 00:32:45beautiful is the good. And so really,
- 00:32:48your beauty should be something that
- 00:32:49lifts you upwards and makes your life
- 00:32:52better. and and I want to explore how
- 00:32:54you know there's kind of different
- 00:32:55archetypes um and archetypes are really
- 00:32:57valuable because you know there's not
- 00:32:58one singular like I mentioned Venus but
- 00:33:00there are other
- 00:33:03basically gods and spirits that are
- 00:33:05considered beautiful too and so by
- 00:33:06taking time to look at different
- 00:33:08archetypes you can learn a lot about
- 00:33:09different ways beauty can appear because
- 00:33:11once again there's not one beautiful
- 00:33:12thing you don't need to look exactly
- 00:33:13like a painting of Venus to be beautiful
- 00:33:15that's crazy look at Artemis right
- 00:33:17Artemis is a bit more kind of boyish
- 00:33:19visually but still beautiful look at
- 00:33:21Hara right Hera's you know a bit more
- 00:33:23like kind of softer and and visual,
- 00:33:25right? But you see those both represent
- 00:33:26beauty, right? Hera, Venus, Artemis,
- 00:33:29Freya, right? You see variance coming
- 00:33:32up. If you look at goddesses from other
- 00:33:34cultures like Khali, right? You see even
- 00:33:36more variance. Once again, another way
- 00:33:38beauty can sort of appear. And once
- 00:33:40again, exploring divine feminine and
- 00:33:41divine masculine archetypes and
- 00:33:43understanding what archetype you connect
- 00:33:44to most can really help you discover
- 00:33:46what your sort of ideal should be.
- 00:33:48Because your ideal should always be
- 00:33:50something you can reach, right? Your
- 00:33:51ideal shouldn't be something insane. It
- 00:33:53shouldn't be something that hurts you,
- 00:33:54right? Never do anything that hurts you.
- 00:33:56Only do things that make you better and
- 00:33:57make you stronger and make you happier.
- 00:33:59Because if what you're doing to make
- 00:34:01yourself beautiful doesn't make you
- 00:34:02happy and makes you sad, you're doing
- 00:34:04something wrong. Right? The path of
- 00:34:06following the gods is actually the path
- 00:34:08of least resistance. Right? When you're
- 00:34:10following your true will, when you're
- 00:34:11living like a virtuous lifestyle, right?
- 00:34:13You're not suffering as much. Right?
- 00:34:15that that suffering is way diminished
- 00:34:17because you're doing your higher purpose
- 00:34:19and you understand that higher purpose,
- 00:34:20right? A lot of what makes people suffer
- 00:34:22is not understanding that higher
- 00:34:23purpose. And if you're simply following
- 00:34:25beauty to keep up the Joneses, you might
- 00:34:27accidentally turn yourself kind of
- 00:34:29uglier, right? Because we we can see
- 00:34:32that like you can see when someone is
- 00:34:33striving for beauty so hard that they
- 00:34:35actually destroy how they look. Um and
- 00:34:37and that's always such a tragic thing to
- 00:34:39see. And I also I don't think it's worth
- 00:34:40shaming people, right? I think I think
- 00:34:42people really want to like shame and
- 00:34:44crap on people. they don't find
- 00:34:45beautiful. And I think that's wrong. Um
- 00:34:47because where that comes from is is
- 00:34:49resentment in some way. Either you see
- 00:34:51something in common with that person,
- 00:34:52something that you hate about yourself,
- 00:34:53so you hate on them. Or you like have
- 00:34:55some weird I just it it comes from
- 00:34:57complexes, right? When when you're in a
- 00:34:58good spiritual place, you're not cruel.
- 00:35:00You're not harming others. You're not
- 00:35:02necessarily all love and light and
- 00:35:03kumbaya. You're not gonna like everyone,
- 00:35:05but you're not like going on Twitter and
- 00:35:06posting nine million page rants about
- 00:35:09how how horrible someone looks. Um and I
- 00:35:11also I want to talk about one other
- 00:35:12thing that holds people back from divine
- 00:35:13beauty and that's envy. So envy is a
- 00:35:16spiritual disease of the heart. Right?
- 00:35:17It is envy is something that corrods you
- 00:35:19from the inside out. Right? Envy was
- 00:35:21actually feared so much in the ancient
- 00:35:23world that they made these ambulance
- 00:35:24called the evil eye or the nazar and
- 00:35:26they're those blue little evil eyes to
- 00:35:28hang up to avoid envy. Right? Envy is
- 00:35:30basically when someone basically wants
- 00:35:32to be you to the point where they
- 00:35:33destroy you. And actually in the Islamic
- 00:35:35world when you compliment someone you're
- 00:35:36supposed to say mashah afterwards to
- 00:35:38basically prevent you from accidentally
- 00:35:40cursing them with envy. Right? We
- 00:35:43struggle with envy a lot. And you will
- 00:35:45not achieve divine beauty when you are
- 00:35:46in a state of envy. Right? And in our
- 00:35:48beauty culture wants you to envy people.
- 00:35:50In fact that's how it makes money
- 00:35:51because remember the beauty industry is
- 00:35:53like a multi-billion dollar industry.
- 00:35:56They want you to be envying people so
- 00:35:59that you give them money. Right? And I
- 00:36:01also want to clarify, you do not want to
- 00:36:02envy the gods. You don't want to envy
- 00:36:04paintings of Venus. You want to see that
- 00:36:06as like something you can work towards
- 00:36:07because it's not, you know, unrealistic,
- 00:36:09right? Um, but not envy, right? Pull
- 00:36:11that out. Do not, you know, look at 9
- 00:36:13million Tik Tok edits of Snagana Anopka
- 00:36:16and think about how much more beautiful
- 00:36:17you'd be if you had her collar bones,
- 00:36:19right? That's envy. That's not going to
- 00:36:21help you and that's not going to help
- 00:36:22her. Because when you envy someone, you
- 00:36:24are in a sense sending maleific energy
- 00:36:26their way. And why are you sending
- 00:36:27maleific energy their way? Because envy
- 00:36:29is corrosive. Envy rips at your heart
- 00:36:31and fills you with miasma and rot and
- 00:36:34darkness that then gets sent in other
- 00:36:36directions. So if you struggle with
- 00:36:37envy, you need to pull that out and you
- 00:36:39need to do purification work. Okay? You
- 00:36:41need to identify that envy, understand
- 00:36:43you are struggling with envy and then
- 00:36:46seek out catharsis. That's
- 00:36:48purification and then release that so
- 00:36:50that you will be happier and so that
- 00:36:52you're not sending negative energy out
- 00:36:54into the world that causes harm. Okay?
- 00:36:57Erase envy from your soul. And I think
- 00:36:59we've all envied, okay, I think it's
- 00:37:01it's normal at some point in our lives
- 00:37:02to envy. It's a natural human
- 00:37:03experience. So that's why we need to be
- 00:37:05consciously aware of it. And that's why
- 00:37:06contemplation is so important to get
- 00:37:08spiritual growth, right? There's a
- 00:37:10reason why we say know thyself. Right?
- 00:37:12One of the most important things you can
- 00:37:14do in the spiritual world is know
- 00:37:15thyself. Why?
- 00:37:18Because it is really important to
- 00:37:21understand yourself so you can
- 00:37:22understand your true will. And by
- 00:37:24understanding who you are, you then get
- 00:37:27closer and closer to your goals. So pull
- 00:37:30that envy out of your heart, right?
- 00:37:32Purify it away. And I also want to get
- 00:37:33into vanity. Vanity is really something
- 00:37:35that goes handin-hand with this whole
- 00:37:36conversation. Vanity is really what
- 00:37:38people are doing when they prioritize
- 00:37:40their beauty over their health. Um
- 00:37:41because a lot of people, you know, they
- 00:37:43actively put their beauty above their
- 00:37:44health, right? Like they they are like,
- 00:37:46"Yeah, I'm destroying your health, but I
- 00:37:48don't care. At least I'm going to be
- 00:37:49hot." Right? That's vanity. And that is
- 00:37:52going to spiritually corrode you too.
- 00:37:53And that's actually going to block you
- 00:37:56from reaching your spiritual goals. It's
- 00:37:58going to hold you back from your
- 00:38:00spiritual goals. So you need to pull
- 00:38:01that out of your heart too. Once again,
- 00:38:03you need to do purification work. And
- 00:38:05after you've done purification work for
- 00:38:06these two spiritual disease of the
- 00:38:08heart, you need to get closer to the
- 00:38:09gods. Specifically, I would recommend
- 00:38:11working with a sun god because the sun
- 00:38:12relates to virtue and that can kind of
- 00:38:14like put you back on the right path um
- 00:38:16and moving in the right direction. If
- 00:38:18you really feel you're struggling with,
- 00:38:20you know, a confusion about your ego,
- 00:38:22um, or dysmorphia, right? Let's say you,
- 00:38:24let's say you have body dysmorphia, um,
- 00:38:26doing things like tarot to help you
- 00:38:27understand what's real and what's not
- 00:38:29can be a really good place to start. But
- 00:38:31after that, I would really recommend
- 00:38:32contacting your holy guardian angel.
- 00:38:34Your holy guardian angel is a sort of
- 00:38:35guiding spirit that's linked to you. Um,
- 00:38:38and through doing purification work and
- 00:38:40then praying to that holy guardian
- 00:38:41angel, you can establish knowledge and
- 00:38:42conversation with them and then they can
- 00:38:44guide you on what to do next, right?
- 00:38:46really seek out guiding spirits that you
- 00:38:48can sort of, you know, ground yourself
- 00:38:49and touch base because a lot of body
- 00:38:51dysmorphia is based in delusion and a
- 00:38:53belief that your flaws are basically not
- 00:38:55what they actually are. And so by
- 00:38:56developing that perspective through
- 00:38:58conversation with a holy guardian angel,
- 00:39:00you can really heal that. Now the next
- 00:39:01thing you could do is Venus
- 00:39:03remediation. So if you actually do want
- 00:39:06to become more beautiful and you want to
- 00:39:07move towards an objective standard of
- 00:39:09beauty, the divine standard of beauty,
- 00:39:11you really should contact Venus. You can
- 00:39:13do this in a number of ways. I would
- 00:39:14recommend the orphic hymn to Venus. And
- 00:39:16by developing a devotion, a relationship
- 00:39:18with Venus, you will become more
- 00:39:19beautiful because every spirit you sort
- 00:39:21of interact with gets closer to you and
- 00:39:23sort of brings you up towards them.
- 00:39:25Their energy sort of seeps into their
- 00:39:26life and then filters into your soul. So
- 00:39:28check out Venus. And if you are, you
- 00:39:30know, say a Nordic pagan, you might
- 00:39:31really appreciate a devotion
- 00:39:33relationship with Freya. Um, and for
- 00:39:35men, a spirit like Apollo or a solar
- 00:39:37spirit could really help you through
- 00:39:39this this conversation. I've been
- 00:39:40talking a lot about the sun, but the sun
- 00:39:42relates a lot to this conversation,
- 00:39:43right? The sun and Venus are kind of the
- 00:39:45two planetary energies that relate to
- 00:39:47beauty. So really pay attention to the
- 00:39:48sun and to Venus. And also one thing
- 00:39:50that could be valuable is looking at
- 00:39:52your natal chart or your birth chart.
- 00:39:54Within your birth chart, there are a lot
- 00:39:55of keys to your divine balance. And by
- 00:39:58looking at your Venus sign and then
- 00:39:59looking at the archetype associated with
- 00:40:01your Venus sign, you can see the
- 00:40:02metaphysical archetype of beauty that
- 00:40:04will sort of benefit you the most.
- 00:40:05Because once again, I mentioned beauty
- 00:40:07is archetypal. There's not one singular
- 00:40:09image of beauty. And so by
- 00:40:10understanding, you know, okay, well,
- 00:40:12what sign is Venus in my chart? You can
- 00:40:14see what archetype of beauty would suit
- 00:40:16you best. There's a reason why there's a
- 00:40:17big trend on Tik Tok where people dress
- 00:40:19like their Venus sign. That's very
- 00:40:20helpful and can help you understand
- 00:40:22basically what would, you know, suit you
- 00:40:24the best because there is still some
- 00:40:25variance, right? There's natural
- 00:40:26variance, right? There's a reason why
- 00:40:28health is seen as kind of a range. So
- 00:40:30look into that and you can sort of
- 00:40:32understand how you can be the most
- 00:40:33beautiful. There's a type of spellwork
- 00:40:35that I really would actually recommend
- 00:40:36avoiding. They're called glamour spells.
- 00:40:38So, glamour spells are very popular in
- 00:40:40witchcraft communities and basically
- 00:40:42there's they're illusion spells that
- 00:40:44allow people to see you better. So,
- 00:40:48basically what happens is you do a
- 00:40:50glamour and then people falsely perceive
- 00:40:51you as more beautiful. I recommend
- 00:40:53avoiding these spells because they are
- 00:40:54things that create illusions and
- 00:40:56delusions. They are things that block
- 00:40:57you from truth and thus they can
- 00:40:59actually hurt you on your long-term
- 00:41:00spiritual journey. Yes, a glamour will
- 00:41:02make you more beautiful, but it is kind
- 00:41:04of the type of working that could
- 00:41:06actually have a negative effect on you
- 00:41:07long term. So, I would I would avoid
- 00:41:10these personally. I would stay away from
- 00:41:12them. Um, Alistister Crowley actually
- 00:41:14wrote a criticism of witchcraft and his
- 00:41:16criticism really only applied to this
- 00:41:18type of magic. That's why like despite
- 00:41:19being aomide, I don't have a problem
- 00:41:21with witchcraft because Alistister
- 00:41:22Crowley's criticism of witchcraft was
- 00:41:23written in the blue book library ABA
- 00:41:25specifically within um magic and theory
- 00:41:28and practice. and his criticism is that
- 00:41:29witchcraft is bad because witchcraft is
- 00:41:31simply creating illusions within the
- 00:41:33material realm that doesn't actually
- 00:41:34make a deeper spiritual change. That's
- 00:41:37true for about 2% of witchcraft, not all
- 00:41:40of witchcraft. And the 2% of witchcraft
- 00:41:42that it is true for is literally like
- 00:41:44this type of magic. Right? When you're
- 00:41:46doing a glamour spell, you're not
- 00:41:47actually becoming more beautiful. You're
- 00:41:49just seeming more beautiful to people
- 00:41:51who like don't know otherwise. It's
- 00:41:53literally like a fake type of magic.
- 00:41:55It's not one that makes a deeper change.
- 00:41:57And I think the magic that is the most
- 00:41:59beneficial to people is the type of
- 00:42:00magic that makes a deep internal change
- 00:42:02and a more profound change on the psyche
- 00:42:04that actually changes the core of who
- 00:42:05you are so that you can do better. So I
- 00:42:07really recommend avoiding these type of
- 00:42:08spells. I think that they can really
- 00:42:10hold people back. So once again, they do
- 00:42:12work, but it's maybe not the right path
- 00:42:14because what I want people to do is heal
- 00:42:15their relationship with beauty and find
- 00:42:17the real beauty of the gods instead of
- 00:42:19idolizing and holding up fake beauty
- 00:42:20that holds them back from their actual
- 00:42:22goals within their true spiritual
- 00:42:23journey.
- 00:42:24Um, that's kind of all I want to say.
- 00:42:27Oh, there was one last thing I want to
- 00:42:28discuss. Um, is
- 00:42:31uh what what I would call um Ompic.
- 00:42:35Ozmp. Yes, this was the last point. I
- 00:42:37completely forgot to bring this up the
- 00:42:38entire podcast. So, Ompic is really
- 00:42:40popular in our culture right now. Um,
- 00:42:42there's a big craze of people going on
- 00:42:43Ozmpic. Um, my thoughts on Ompic are if
- 00:42:46you need it for health reasons, go for
- 00:42:47it. Um, if you do not need it for health
- 00:42:49reasons, don't go for it. Um, I have a
- 00:42:51friend who is a nurse in the emergency
- 00:42:53room in the town I'm in and she has had
- 00:42:55people come into the emergency room who
- 00:42:56have had ozepic complications and were
- 00:42:58in a lot of pain. Um, so you know that's
- 00:43:00one of those where you really need to do
- 00:43:02a pro and con with yourself and
- 00:43:03understand like is this something that's
- 00:43:05going to net benefit me or net hurt me.
- 00:43:07Um, and if you are you know someone who
- 00:43:08like say has PCOS or insulin resistance
- 00:43:11and you need to lose weight for your
- 00:43:12health, I think there's no shame in
- 00:43:13using Ompic to get there. But if you're
- 00:43:15like 10 pounds overweight, like maybe
- 00:43:17don't use Ompic. Um, I think it's really
- 00:43:19alarming that celebrities who are at a
- 00:43:21normal healthy weight are using Ozepic
- 00:43:23to get to an unhealthy weight. Like
- 00:43:25Ariana Grande, people claim she used
- 00:43:27Osmpic. Um, I don't know if that's true,
- 00:43:29but if she did, she would be a good
- 00:43:30example of like where that can get toxic
- 00:43:32because once again, like these things
- 00:43:34can become addictive. And when they
- 00:43:35become addictions, they're not actually
- 00:43:37inspiring you to grow spiritually. And
- 00:43:39at the end of the day, you want what
- 00:43:40will inspire you to grow spiritually.
- 00:43:42Um, so yeah, be be wary about that. But
- 00:43:45if it's right for you, that's okay. I I
- 00:43:47know a lot of people kind of like get on
- 00:43:48their moral high ground and like shame
- 00:43:50people for using Ompic or or like you're
- 00:43:52lesser because you didn't have
- 00:43:53discipline or something. Look, if
- 00:43:56they're doing something good for them, I
- 00:43:57don't really care the method that they
- 00:43:59do it. Um I think ompic shaming is just
- 00:44:02kind of cruel. I don't know if if
- 00:44:03someone really needs a drug to heal
- 00:44:05their health, especially if they're
- 00:44:06diabetics. I know Ompic was originally a
- 00:44:08diabetes drug, just let them use it like
- 00:44:11if it's benefiting that person. But the
- 00:44:12thing is once again, you want to do a a
- 00:44:14risk evaluation before you do something
- 00:44:16like that so that you don't, you know,
- 00:44:17hurt yourself further. So that's all I
- 00:44:20have to say on beauty. Um, it just
- 00:44:22started thunderstorming. Oh my god. I
- 00:44:23wonder if you guys can hear that on the
- 00:44:25recording. Um, I like that. It's like a
- 00:44:26dramatic ending to my my ramblings. Um,
- 00:44:29heal yourself, right? Take care of
- 00:44:31yourself and develop a healthy
- 00:44:33relationship with yourself and you'll
- 00:44:35grow spiritually. Don't idolize beauty
- 00:44:37in a way that hurts you, but at the same
- 00:44:39time, don't hurt yourself to become
- 00:44:41perfect. Perfection is often the enemy
- 00:44:44of the good. I don't remember who said
- 00:44:45that, but I've heard that before, and I
- 00:44:47kind of like that. I like I I should
- 00:44:49probably look up who said that. Um,
- 00:44:51perfection is the enemy. Oh, it's
- 00:44:55perfection is the enemy of progress is
- 00:44:57the quote. It's Winston Churchill.
- 00:44:59Whatever. I've heard perfection is the
- 00:45:01enemy of the good. I think that's a
- 00:45:02better version of that quote. Um, I like
- 00:45:06it. So, yeah, think about the good, not
- 00:45:09the perfect, and don't destroy yourself
- 00:45:11at any point in time. Love yourself in a
- 00:45:14positive, productive way, not in a
- 00:45:15narcissistic way. And follow the right
- 00:45:18path, the path towards the gods. So, if
