- 00:00:00go hello and welcome everybody to
- 00:00:04today's Round Table talk and today on
- 00:00:09building the future of web3 on pokka do
- 00:00:12we're going to be focusing on specific
- 00:00:14par chains and how the pock do SDK
- 00:00:16enables developers to create Innovative
- 00:00:19web three Technologies so really excited
- 00:00:22about this discussion we have some
- 00:00:23amazing leaders in the pocket ecosystem
- 00:00:27with us today um so maybe let let start
- 00:00:30off with a quick introduction from the
- 00:00:32speakers and then maybe also mention
- 00:00:35your project and why you chose to deploy
- 00:00:38on pocketo and Francisco since you're
- 00:00:41the last one to join let's start with
- 00:00:43you so please introduce yourself let us
- 00:00:45know um what is your project and why you
- 00:00:47chose to deploy on pocket
- 00:00:50out sorry are we are we live right now
- 00:00:52or yes yes yeah we okay cool cool um so
- 00:00:57so yeah my name is Francisco I'm the
- 00:00:59co-founder of tany um tansy is
- 00:01:01essentially an app chain infrastructure
- 00:01:03protocol uh so we're making it a lot
- 00:01:06easier for developers to to launch their
- 00:01:08own chains right uh I think in the last
- 00:01:11couple of years we've seen a growing
- 00:01:12demand for for app chains in general but
- 00:01:15um the developer experience has been
- 00:01:17quite lacking right it's it's very
- 00:01:18difficult for a developer to bootstrap
- 00:01:20its own chain there's a lot of
- 00:01:21infrastructural responsibilities that
- 00:01:22are required that are inherent with
- 00:01:24launching chains so that's kind of what
- 00:01:26we're doing right you can kind of think
- 00:01:27of tansy as a layer one to help deploy
- 00:01:29other layer ones and we're doing that by
- 00:01:32providing permissionless block
- 00:01:33production as a service along with all
- 00:01:35these tools that you need to to run a
- 00:01:37chain right like block explorers
- 00:01:38indexers oracles all these different
- 00:01:40things um and we're we we decided to
- 00:01:43start building on polka dot because you
- 00:01:45know I think polka dot is capable polka
- 00:01:48dot polka Dot's architecture is capable
- 00:01:50of offering very distinct properties for
- 00:01:52for layer ones right uh this concept of
- 00:01:54shared security is very important so
- 00:01:56abstracting away the the necessity for
- 00:01:58developers to have to boost strap their
- 00:02:00own validator set to attract stake value
- 00:02:02you know the relay chain of polka dot
- 00:02:04currently provides billions of dollars
- 00:02:06in stake value which developers can tap
- 00:02:08into seamlessly through tansi um per
- 00:02:12decentralization is another big thing I
- 00:02:13mean we've seen the popularity of l2s on
- 00:02:16ethereum but uh it's about trade-offs
- 00:02:18right like if developers care about
- 00:02:20decentralization then l2s are probably
- 00:02:22not not a great great fit because
- 00:02:23there's there's just centralized
- 00:02:24sequencers right finality is another big
- 00:02:27one right like how how quickly can you
- 00:02:29finalize can you reach consensus for
- 00:02:31your chain substrate and and polka dot
- 00:02:34are quite powerful in that uh
- 00:02:36composability how do you communicate
- 00:02:38with with between chains so so there's
- 00:02:40all these kind of um capabilities that
- 00:02:43polka Dot's architecture offers uh to to
- 00:02:46builders to build l1s and those are very
- 00:02:49difficult to replicate right it's it's
- 00:02:50not very easy to like um build these
- 00:02:52things uh in kind of retrospectively so
- 00:02:56yeah that that's kind of why we're
- 00:02:58starting to we started to to build with
- 00:03:00polka dot and we're kind of Del tan is
- 00:03:03trying to deliver on the developer
- 00:03:04experience right helping developers tap
- 00:03:06into these properties in the easiest way
- 00:03:07possible because at the end of the day
- 00:03:09you can have the greatest technology but
- 00:03:10if it's very difficult to use nobody's
- 00:03:12going to care right so that's kind of
- 00:03:14where we're coming from with tansy
- 00:03:16absolutely that's very very valuable
- 00:03:19yeah developers experience is key we
- 00:03:21want to make sure the technolog is being
- 00:03:23used so thank you Francisco for that and
- 00:03:25then I would like to move on to Tony
- 00:03:27Tony can you introduce yourself your
- 00:03:29project and why did you decide to deploy
- 00:03:31your Pock out sure hello my name is Tony
- 00:03:33MOS I'm one of the founders of the Laos
- 00:03:36Network a par chain that will start
- 00:03:37producing blocks in a week time from now
- 00:03:40uh my background is in physics and
- 00:03:42Mathematics and my PhD is in string
- 00:03:44theory and those those weird weird
- 00:03:46things I my background then moved to
- 00:03:49technology I started uh moving to H
- 00:03:53Cinema Sound actually I have to say we
- 00:03:55got an Oscar for science and
- 00:03:57technological achievements our team uh
- 00:03:59just uh a few months ago for creating
- 00:04:02Dolby Atmos if you go to the movies and
- 00:04:04ever hear Dolby Atmos you're uh it was
- 00:04:06something that we created we started
- 00:04:08here in Barcelona and then I moved to
- 00:04:10blockchain Falling in Love completely
- 00:04:12with uh you know everything that you
- 00:04:14guys have fallen in love probably as
- 00:04:15well in
- 00:04:162016 and then I I realized I wanted to
- 00:04:19spend my my the rest of my life I think
- 00:04:21uh in this in this field and started
- 00:04:23building different things so we ended up
- 00:04:25with Laos Network after and I think
- 00:04:28Francisco named it really well after
- 00:04:30having built our own Layer Two uh even
- 00:04:32before layer twos were called layer twos
- 00:04:35uh on on ethereum and polygon uh for
- 00:04:38it's been live for more than three
- 00:04:40years after all these trade-offs he was
- 00:04:43mentioning and we didn't like them I
- 00:04:45mean when you really get your hands on
- 00:04:46it at some point you realize that uh
- 00:04:49you're not uh being truth TR truthful or
- 00:04:53whatever you want to call it to to your
- 00:04:55to the spirit of decentralization and
- 00:04:56the whole thing uh so we ended up
- 00:05:00understanding that we had to build
- 00:05:01something more secure with the same
- 00:05:02Properties or similar properties than
- 00:05:04than our Layer Two that's why we ended
- 00:05:06up with a layer one which chose padot
- 00:05:08for exactly the same reasons that uh
- 00:05:10Francisco just named the centralization
- 00:05:12through the centralization finality all
- 00:05:14the tool set is there and the Rel chain
- 00:05:17is there for us to provide security to
- 00:05:18every transaction that goes through the
- 00:05:20network and we ended up
- 00:05:22building a para chain that
- 00:05:24differentiates from other para chains as
- 00:05:27as is the spirit of padot in that we try
- 00:05:30to connect poka Do's core time which as
- 00:05:33you as you know is massive it's an an
- 00:05:36hugely uh an you know um empty compared
- 00:05:40to what it could be providing we're
- 00:05:41trying to use that core time to offload
- 00:05:44transactions from outside PKA do indeed
- 00:05:47not from other par chains but from
- 00:05:49ethereum from polygon from all the layer
- 00:05:51twos on top of them and eventually even
- 00:05:54from Bitcoin as we'll do at the end of
- 00:05:56the of of this year we do that uh
- 00:05:59without Bridges so of course if you have
- 00:06:01a bridge then you can basically do
- 00:06:03everything you can do in one chain in
- 00:06:04another one La is specialized in doing
- 00:06:07that without Bridges and just a subset
- 00:06:09of transactions that really fit this
- 00:06:10pattern you cannot do that of course
- 00:06:12with everything that you want to do on
- 00:06:13ethereum but about 20% of everything you
- 00:06:17can do on ethereum polygon and all those
- 00:06:20evm chains you can
- 00:06:23upload to to the to PKA do while
- 00:06:27everything that you're doing when you
- 00:06:29have remains compatible with uh you know
- 00:06:31it remains on ethereum and polygon all
- 00:06:33that stuff so we can dwell more into
- 00:06:35that later but our spirit is to use uh
- 00:06:38padot to help other ecosystems outside
- 00:06:41padot uh scale
- 00:06:45better fantastic thank you ton really
- 00:06:48excited to learn more about your work
- 00:06:50and uh yeah you've done guys you've done
- 00:06:52a great um deal of progress within such
- 00:06:54a short amount of time so
- 00:06:55congratulations and also on the Oscar
- 00:06:58that's really great to have such a ver
- 00:06:59background um now I want to move to
- 00:07:02Dudley um what is h can you just
- 00:07:04introduce yourself and also talk about
- 00:07:06um your reasons for the plan pocket on
- 00:07:08your project yeah howy uh thanks for
- 00:07:11having me uh Alexandra um yeah my name
- 00:07:14is Dudley um I've been working on the
- 00:07:17Kil protocol um for at least five years
- 00:07:19now um I'm now the team lead of the
- 00:07:23development team so I'm happy to be here
- 00:07:25today to give you a bit more um
- 00:07:27understanding about what we do um yeah I
- 00:07:30guess uh from our perspective kild
- 00:07:33itself is definitely uh one of the big
- 00:07:38identity projects in the polka do
- 00:07:40ecosystem and we tried to strive for
- 00:07:42creating or using the standards um which
- 00:07:45is not defined in polka do but outside
- 00:07:48of it with the worldwide Web Consortium
- 00:07:51you know we're using decentralized
- 00:07:52identifiers and verifiable credentials
- 00:07:56we we feel like um the reason why we
- 00:07:58came into
- 00:08:00polka dot is our journey started like
- 00:08:02six years ago and we were one of the
- 00:08:04first T teams to build on substrate way
- 00:08:06before like there was really readily
- 00:08:08available
- 00:08:10documentations and yeah um we saw great
- 00:08:13potential um we've definitely uh saw the
- 00:08:15vision that was uh proposed um for
- 00:08:18definitely interoperability and other
- 00:08:20services you know trying to uh get
- 00:08:24things like uh computation or other nfts
- 00:08:29or transactions onto our chain would
- 00:08:31only slow it down and we saw that um
- 00:08:33that was not needed right we needed
- 00:08:36identity Solutions and only identity
- 00:08:38Solutions um but we wanted to have other
- 00:08:41features and other feature sets
- 00:08:42available to us and polka dot suggested
- 00:08:44or made the this Vision Come True by
- 00:08:47allowing um for example uh using F's
- 00:08:51computation um on killed if necessary
- 00:08:54and uh identity on other chains as well
- 00:08:58so for us that was that was kind of the
- 00:09:00proposal and the the dream that came
- 00:09:02from it so yeah um that's one of the the
- 00:09:05major things that we saw um again we we
- 00:09:08looked at ethereum and other places but
- 00:09:11the the proposal for low costs and
- 00:09:15having a buildable system for
- 00:09:18Enterprises and governmental level um
- 00:09:21businesses really Drew Us in there
- 00:09:23because we wanted the identity solution
- 00:09:25that was for um again company
- 00:09:29and big Enterprises so yeah I think a
- 00:09:32lot of those Visions Drew us towards it
- 00:09:34and the technology stack itself um was
- 00:09:37being built seemed pretty amazing so
- 00:09:40yeah there was a lots of different ways
- 00:09:42and again only can Echo some of the
- 00:09:44facts that Tony and Francesco um brought
- 00:09:47up as well amazing thank you well it's
- 00:09:50fantastic to have an OG with us um
- 00:09:53somebody who's been building way before
- 00:09:55would actually nice to see hear also
- 00:09:56some insights and Al some of the more
- 00:09:58detailed questions that we'll Del into
- 00:10:00in a minute um joshia I'll move to you
- 00:10:03you know the drill um but I'd like you
- 00:10:04to introduce your friend as well who's
- 00:10:06very actively supporting you there too
- 00:10:09oh yeah yeah my friend's Moxy that's uh
- 00:10:12she's a my puppy but if you look in my
- 00:10:15uh Twitter profile you can see she's one
- 00:10:18of the dogs in my profile picture but uh
- 00:10:21just nft wise uh but yeah I'm I'm Joshua
- 00:10:24Waller I'm uh the director of tech
- 00:10:27evangelism over at fall Network so most
- 00:10:29of my responsibilities involve leading
- 00:10:31the deell operations includes like
- 00:10:33building docs tutorials templates
- 00:10:35leading workshops talks at events but I
- 00:10:38also help out uh build out some
- 00:10:39Integrations with other Pro protocols so
- 00:10:42I do some like development research on
- 00:10:44on these protocols and such that I can
- 00:10:47uh kind of like like dadley said like
- 00:10:49work with Kilt or work with whatever uh
- 00:10:52with with other blockchains or any other
- 00:10:54uh web three service in this case h and
- 00:10:57I also have done some some developments
- 00:10:58so for some daps like agent like our
- 00:11:01agent Wars frame that we deployed on
- 00:11:03farcaster I built that along with uh
- 00:11:06building some of the runtime uh pallets
- 00:11:08for um follow world back in the past but
- 00:11:12uh to kind of go into Falla Network in
- 00:11:15general Falla is a deepin protocol with
- 00:11:18over 36,000 uh tested te nodes uh te
- 00:11:22being trusted execution environment uh
- 00:11:24we leverage this architecture to create
- 00:11:27a secure offchain computation protocol
- 00:11:30so so th this means that we can now be
- 00:11:33able to like serve as a AI co-processor
- 00:11:36for blockchain so any any kind of web 3
- 00:11:39service or any other uh smart contract
- 00:11:41platform we we feel that we are able to
- 00:11:44like enhance their uh capabilities by
- 00:11:47providing this uh offchain computation
- 00:11:49since our programs are running in a
- 00:11:52secure offchain worker uh executing
- 00:11:54within our uh tees so um why did we
- 00:11:57choose uh polka dot so substrate is
- 00:12:00honestly like the the best SDK for
- 00:12:02building customized blockchains so just
- 00:12:05like uh just just like uh where I
- 00:12:08described earlier it it it allows us to
- 00:12:10create these unique use cases for
- 00:12:12something like secure offchain
- 00:12:14computation which is really really hard
- 00:12:16to do when it comes to like ethereum or
- 00:12:19uh other blockchains uh as well so we
- 00:12:22found that uh Polkka dot was like the
- 00:12:24the best uh place to build this and then
- 00:12:26also like like uh previously mentioned
- 00:12:29we don't have to worry about uh running
- 00:12:31our own L1 and having to uh you know
- 00:12:35attract users and liquidity to be able
- 00:12:38to like uh boost strap our our protocols
- 00:12:40so using uh having polka dot to be able
- 00:12:43to process our box on the relay chain is
- 00:12:45uh and in a secure way is uh something
- 00:12:48that was very attractive for us so we
- 00:12:49are like one of the uh original uh pair
- 00:12:52chains that started uh during the uh
- 00:12:54beginning of the auctions back in what
- 00:12:56was it like 202
- 00:12:59one at the end of the year so um yeah
- 00:13:02we're like continuing to build continue
- 00:13:05to uh build products and uh allow for us
- 00:13:09to get like user feedback to see how we
- 00:13:11can enhance the developer experience and
- 00:13:13really break down that barrier that we
- 00:13:15see today in like web 3 where it's uh
- 00:13:18you know a little it's a little hard to
- 00:13:21build something that's competitive to
- 00:13:22these web two apps so that's that's my
- 00:13:25little uh
- 00:13:27tidbit fantastic yes 21 seems like ages
- 00:13:30ago right already even though it's been
- 00:13:31three years um you've mentioned some of
- 00:13:34the blockers already for the web three
- 00:13:36developers um is there anything else
- 00:13:38that you find is another blocker for
- 00:13:41those who want to get into the web three
- 00:13:44today uh yeah yeah I mean to me um one
- 00:13:50blocker today would be like a bearish
- 00:13:52mark Market bearish in a sense uh we
- 00:13:55have some up and downs uh also there's
- 00:13:58there's a lot of attention like a lot of
- 00:14:00attention driven types of uh uh things
- 00:14:04for Dev so like if they see like oh this
- 00:14:06is where all the liquidity is here
- 00:14:08they're going to go build there so it's
- 00:14:10it's it's really hard it's really hard
- 00:14:12to get developers to uh one want to
- 00:14:15build somewhere where it could be a
- 00:14:17little bit siloed so having more uh you
- 00:14:20know Avenues to access equid would be
- 00:14:23really really huge for unblocking these
- 00:14:26uh developers in web 3 today um another
- 00:14:29thing that that I've put down is just
- 00:14:31like uh getting kind of closer to these
- 00:14:34these Web Two user experiences so really
- 00:14:38breaking down where where are the
- 00:14:40blockers where are like when developers
- 00:14:42kind of drop off and kind of give up I I
- 00:14:46would say that's that's something that
- 00:14:49is that has that has to be solved and
- 00:14:51something we're we're really focused on
- 00:14:54uh kind of delivering for these
- 00:14:55developers and then uh one one last
- 00:14:57thing I won't speak too long on it but
- 00:14:59uh like giving developers a a very quick
- 00:15:03way to profit so like their time to
- 00:15:05profit whenever they're building their
- 00:15:07their daps like are they are they
- 00:15:09building a Dap and then say they deploy
- 00:15:12it but it's really hard to attract users
- 00:15:14and even generate profits that might be
- 00:15:17very timec consuming for developers and
- 00:15:19it could put a bad taste in their mouth
- 00:15:20if they do not if they're not successful
- 00:15:22so I find I find these as like some of
- 00:15:24the we three blockers that I've I've
- 00:15:26analyzed over the last couple years or
- 00:15:28so
- 00:15:29wow this these are really good points
- 00:15:32yeah absolutely if you don't get the
- 00:15:33rewards quickly you you lose interest I
- 00:15:35mean obviously um dadley do you have
- 00:15:37anything else to add in terms of
- 00:15:39blockers that you might have
- 00:15:41seen uh yeah yeah for sure I think one
- 00:15:44of the things that uh again Joshua is
- 00:15:46right on all of those points but one of
- 00:15:48the others is the um stigma around um
- 00:15:51web free um it's unfortunately got a bit
- 00:15:53of a bad reputation in the last x amount
- 00:15:57of years um and web two developers seem
- 00:16:02to avoid uh touching anything with the
- 00:16:05that type of stigma at the moment purely
- 00:16:07for the fact that they they seem it to
- 00:16:09be somewhere they will find Bad actors
- 00:16:13or unsafe reactors that uh promise to do
- 00:16:16something or they try to scam people and
- 00:16:19so forth and that's uh definitely a
- 00:16:22place where uh I hear a lot of these Web
- 00:16:25Two developers um talk about and gives
- 00:16:28them a bad reput gives us a bad
- 00:16:30reputation especially for um individuals
- 00:16:32in here who who do build and do uh
- 00:16:35produce uh projects that are meaningful
- 00:16:38right and it's hard especially when you
- 00:16:40try to approach them and they seem to to
- 00:16:43make out that it doesn't matter um
- 00:16:45they're still going to find this so I
- 00:16:47think uh rebranding or maybe re looking
- 00:16:49at ourselves again um and trying to be a
- 00:16:52little bit more mature I don't know that
- 00:16:54could be a possibility but yeah I think
- 00:16:57um just the general stigma is is pretty
- 00:17:00hard to to to shake off at the moment
- 00:17:03yeah yeah absolutely the bad press is
- 00:17:05really difficult to wash away right I
- 00:17:08some lots of positive messages um there
- 00:17:12fantastic F thank you dle Tony can I go
- 00:17:14to you is there anything else that you'd
- 00:17:16like to add on this yeah sure I I have a
- 00:17:19huge list of blogers for web three to
- 00:17:22actually get into the mainstream but
- 00:17:24maybe just mentioning one or two that
- 00:17:26are related to legislation legislation
- 00:17:29really C catching up with the amount of
- 00:17:31things that can be done and just to
- 00:17:32provide two examples uh yeah when we had
- 00:17:35this layer two still we have it uh we
- 00:17:38built a a a payment Gateway a really
- 00:17:41simple payment Gateway where you can
- 00:17:42basically pay in Euros or dollars for
- 00:17:45the exchange of an asset that is on
- 00:17:46chain it's really simple it's solved
- 00:17:48everywhere in the web through world in
- 00:17:51the web3 world um basically the third
- 00:17:55party provider your payments provider
- 00:17:57that you know the licensed one that was
- 00:17:58work working with us would drop like
- 00:18:00every in a period of 8 to 12 months
- 00:18:03because he he would they would get a
- 00:18:04requirement by the legislative body in
- 00:18:06their country saying hey AR you actually
- 00:18:08are you doing nfts in the background
- 00:18:10like it's not nfts it's just exchange of
- 00:18:12uh Euros from user a to user B and yet
- 00:18:15there's another third party that
- 00:18:17actually transfers the asset okay you
- 00:18:19should stop doing that and that happened
- 00:18:21three times in the in a period of three
- 00:18:23years um it's super painful they see the
- 00:18:26business they want to work on that on
- 00:18:27that but it's basically impossible
- 00:18:28possible so that's just concerning
- 00:18:31legislation and payments which is
- 00:18:32massive if you want to get to the web to
- 00:18:34world people that don't want to really
- 00:18:36own uh you know a significant amount of
- 00:18:39crypto yet or they just want to play a
- 00:18:41video game perhaps right uh and then
- 00:18:44also in order as a developer if you want
- 00:18:45to build use cases that are really
- 00:18:47compelling to you like for me like one
- 00:18:49of the use cases that I would love to be
- 00:18:51able to to be to use not necessarily to
- 00:18:54build but to use is being able to share
- 00:18:57the future royalties
- 00:18:59of a musician song okay I I I follow my
- 00:19:02upand coming musicians I believe in them
- 00:19:04I think they're going to be great and
- 00:19:06like me I think you know zillions of
- 00:19:08people around the world if I could you
- 00:19:10know just up you know pay a little bit
- 00:19:12up front so that actually I'm helping
- 00:19:14the guy or actually actually you know
- 00:19:16bootstrapping because I think that at
- 00:19:18the end of the day I I may even cash
- 00:19:20back maybe not but I may even cash back
- 00:19:21at some point in my life that if you
- 00:19:23want to implement that use case probably
- 00:19:25you need to rule half of the world out
- 00:19:27because it's not legal to do that in or
- 00:19:30or or not even clear whether it's legal
- 00:19:32or not in most geographies in the world
- 00:19:34right so you can really not even if the
- 00:19:36technology would was there already for
- 00:19:39supporting that use case and the wallets
- 00:19:40were not an issue and things like this
- 00:19:43um it's basically such a pain to to
- 00:19:45build a use case that most people end up
- 00:19:47abandoning so like this I think many of
- 00:19:50us can speak of different use cases that
- 00:19:52are you know just due to legislation
- 00:19:54such a pain to
- 00:19:56build yeah the Great areas do pose a
- 00:20:00problem and can be a a great blocker for
- 00:20:02a lot of people yeah thank you for that
- 00:20:05a really fantastic points um Francisco
- 00:20:07I'm gonna get to you with this question
- 00:20:10as well but actually you've already
- 00:20:11addressed some of the issues that you
- 00:20:13are so with with KY um so maybe let's
- 00:20:16delve a little bit deeper into your
- 00:20:17project um if you don't mind so um what
- 00:20:21in your opinion are the benefits of
- 00:20:23deploying an app chain for example as
- 00:20:25opposed to spinning up a par chain or an
- 00:20:28application smart contract platform um
- 00:20:30can you talk to that a little
- 00:20:32bit um yeah sure so I mean at the end of
- 00:20:35the day deploying an app an app chain
- 00:20:37through tansi the benefits is that you
- 00:20:39don't have to deal with kind of all the
- 00:20:40infrastructural responsibilities right
- 00:20:42like um be before we started tansy if
- 00:20:45you look at kind of the landscape two
- 00:20:47years ago if you wanted to launch your
- 00:20:48own chain you have to bootstrap your own
- 00:20:50validator set you have to find out how
- 00:20:51to incentivize those validators you have
- 00:20:54to evaluate their performance there's a
- 00:20:55back and forth um for simplicit purposes
- 00:20:59a lot of developers just decide to
- 00:21:00launch with a couple of validators but
- 00:21:02that then you kind of trade um
- 00:21:04decentralization and and security right
- 00:21:06then once you launch the chain you
- 00:21:09realize okay I have you know I have
- 00:21:11consensus I have block production I have
- 00:21:14data availability all these kind of
- 00:21:15Primitives for the protocol and then you
- 00:21:18realize okay now I need a block Explorer
- 00:21:19right otherwise I'm completely blind as
- 00:21:21to what's happening I need an indexer in
- 00:21:23order to query data on the Chain I need
- 00:21:24an oracle if I'm building a lending and
- 00:21:26borrowing protocol I need RPC points I
- 00:21:29need Bridges so you start getting all
- 00:21:31these kind of complimentary things that
- 00:21:33are inherent with running the chain
- 00:21:34right you can't get away from those
- 00:21:35things so um ultimately that ends up
- 00:21:38resulting in a time to Market of months
- 00:21:40right and um so with tansy you kind of
- 00:21:42get all those things out of the box um
- 00:21:44so you don't have to deal with with all
- 00:21:46those infrastructural stuff and you can
- 00:21:48just focus all the time energy and and
- 00:21:50resources of your team to developing the
- 00:21:52actual application that you want to
- 00:21:53build right um I think we saw a similar
- 00:21:56transition in web 2 back in the day you
- 00:21:58know you had to run your own servers you
- 00:21:59had to yeah it was just a lot more
- 00:22:01infrastructure intensive to to even
- 00:22:04launch a website right and then things
- 00:22:05like the cloud came along uh so I think
- 00:22:07we're starting to see the same
- 00:22:09transition in web 3 and we're trying to
- 00:22:11provide kind of this cloudlike service
- 00:22:14leveraging the polka dot kind of
- 00:22:15architecture without compromising on
- 00:22:17decentralization and security um so
- 00:22:20that's kind of comparing deploying a
- 00:22:22fully fledged L1 versus just deploying
- 00:22:24through tamy um there's trade-offs
- 00:22:27obviously and then the smart contracts
- 00:22:29approach is just different right like
- 00:22:30with smart contracts I I don't really
- 00:22:32look at it in a binary way smart
- 00:22:33contracts are capable of servicing use
- 00:22:35cases that app chains cannot uh
- 00:22:37liquidity is a great example of that
- 00:22:39right if you're going to build a chain
- 00:22:40bootstrapping liquidity from zero is
- 00:22:41like an incredibly difficult thing to do
- 00:22:44uh so it just makes a lot more sense to
- 00:22:45deploy smart contracts on something like
- 00:22:47ethereum or Moonbeam where there's an
- 00:22:48existing defi ecosystem and we're even
- 00:22:50starting to see use cases where there
- 00:22:52it's a it's a hybrid model right so you
- 00:22:54tap into an existing evm kind of shared
- 00:22:57environment to tap into the liquidity
- 00:22:59but then if your applic if your
- 00:23:00application is has kind of workloads
- 00:23:03that are demand demanding on block space
- 00:23:06you can offload that into tany app chain
- 00:23:08or container chain um so we're starting
- 00:23:11to see these kind of Hybrid models uh
- 00:23:13tan app chains are great if you need
- 00:23:14dedicated block space if you need
- 00:23:16sovereignty if you need customization
- 00:23:19those are things that are just not
- 00:23:20possible on shared evm environments and
- 00:23:22um so yeah it's it's about tradeoffs uh
- 00:23:24and and what you're deciding to do and
- 00:23:27um I think we tend to
- 00:23:29it is true that like developer
- 00:23:30experience like that that will
- 00:23:32ultimately bring in a lot more
- 00:23:33developers we're nowhere near what like
- 00:23:35web 2 is at but I I would say we also
- 00:23:37need to find like use cases right and
- 00:23:39like product Market fit there's a lot of
- 00:23:41like over supply of infrastructure in
- 00:23:42web 3 right now but there's not nearly
- 00:23:44as many successful like use case stories
- 00:23:47right I think recently it's like pump.
- 00:23:50fun on salana they're getting a ton of
- 00:23:51traction right so I think we need to see
- 00:23:53more of these applications and it's kind
- 00:23:55of a little bit of a chicken and egg
- 00:23:56problem where you need to make the
- 00:23:57developer experience so easy that you
- 00:23:59got to you kind of broaden that top of
- 00:24:01the funnel for like as many developers
- 00:24:03to come in and it's just a numbers game
- 00:24:05right like finding high quality teams
- 00:24:07that are going to be successful if
- 00:24:08there's a hundred uh maybe one or two
- 00:24:11will be successful the problem is that
- 00:24:12the developer experience r i is so bad
- 00:24:14that the number of teams that are
- 00:24:15willing to go through that process is
- 00:24:17just very low so you're reducing that
- 00:24:18probability of finding good teams right
- 00:24:20so the the goal with improving the
- 00:24:22developer experience is just increasing
- 00:24:24the probability of finding like these
- 00:24:25product Market fit use cases
- 00:24:29yeah no absolutely um yeah sometimes you
- 00:24:32just want to build something exciting
- 00:24:34and then but you have to also do the
- 00:24:35research right and making sure that it
- 00:24:36fits um what is the market requirements
- 00:24:39um just want to make sure that um those
- 00:24:41of you who are listening actually you
- 00:24:43can make comments and if you have
- 00:24:46questions for our speakers um don't
- 00:24:49hesitate to put them in the comments and
- 00:24:50we'll try to answer them at the end of
- 00:24:52this panel I'm sure you have a lot of
- 00:24:54burning questions that you want to dig
- 00:24:55it deeper into um but thank you so much
- 00:24:57for this really um amazing answer and
- 00:25:00there a lot of interesting points that
- 00:25:02you've mentioned um I want to move on to
- 00:25:04Joshua and actually talk about um how F
- 00:25:08eii agents um helps developers and what
- 00:25:12are the most exciting use cases uh
- 00:25:14you've seen so far you've touched upon
- 00:25:16it a bit but maybe we can just dive a
- 00:25:18little bit deeper into
- 00:25:19that yeah definitely and I I'll kind of
- 00:25:22like break down the question a little
- 00:25:23bit um first um so so with the the AI
- 00:25:27agents piece uh so fall has created this
- 00:25:30AI agent contract uh and this contract
- 00:25:33is going to be able to one have two two
- 00:25:35two components one component being the
- 00:25:37agent script so this agent script is all
- 00:25:40the logic for your agent and this is
- 00:25:42what's going to be uh executing in The
- 00:25:44Trusted execution environment so we have
- 00:25:46like a long living virtual machine
- 00:25:48running inside te that has embedded a JS
- 00:25:51engine in there so so that you can uh
- 00:25:54execute uh like asynchronous programs in
- 00:25:56this case uh along with some like
- 00:25:59default uh security and privacy
- 00:26:01guarantees with the the execution within
- 00:26:03the te so this is like the first
- 00:26:05component and then the second component
- 00:26:07would be the onchain component of
- 00:26:09whichever uh chain you want to uh use or
- 00:26:13smart contract uh chain in this case as
- 00:26:16well to be able to like regulate this uh
- 00:26:19script in a sense so being able to
- 00:26:21regulate these agents and be able to
- 00:26:23monetize them is something that we we
- 00:26:25find very important and this is kind of
- 00:26:28like the the basis of uh our product
- 00:26:31called Agent Wars that we've just
- 00:26:33launched so um in agent Wars uh just a a
- 00:26:37simple breakdown of that is uh we we've
- 00:26:39made it possible for you to go into uh
- 00:26:42agent Wars and uh claim your AI clone so
- 00:26:45this AI clone is based on your Twitter
- 00:26:48um it takes all of the the data from
- 00:26:50your Twitter and uh some of your tweets
- 00:26:53and then just kind of uh gives you like
- 00:26:55a little agent that you can own and then
- 00:26:58uh have your community buy keys to be
- 00:27:00able to interact with the agent and the
- 00:27:02keys uh are like our like experimental
- 00:27:06like token economics type of piece here
- 00:27:08so that uh it's it's determined by a
- 00:27:11bonding curve for the for these key
- 00:27:13prices so so people can start to buy
- 00:27:15these Keys up and uh get like a piece of
- 00:27:18ownership of these agents they can buy
- 00:27:20mini keys if they would like as well and
- 00:27:22then in the future uh as we like
- 00:27:24continue to get user feedback and start
- 00:27:25to upgrade these uh contracts running on
- 00:27:28chain we're able to then uh offer like
- 00:27:31some some more decentralized uh aspects
- 00:27:34to it so like being able to govern it uh
- 00:27:36govern these agents and govern the uh
- 00:27:38system prompts that are configurating
- 00:27:40these agents um to be uh voted on by the
- 00:27:44community so people that own own keys of
- 00:27:46these agents and uh this is kind of like
- 00:27:50where where we see uh being able to take
- 00:27:53take these agents to the next level
- 00:27:54because in the traditional Web Two stack
- 00:27:56it's really hard to um get all of the um
- 00:28:01Rewards or the
- 00:28:02monetization uh aspects in this case uh
- 00:28:05for the developers um to today because a
- 00:28:09lot of it they might you know they might
- 00:28:10deploy an agent but maybe they're not
- 00:28:12seeing as much traffic or they get a lot
- 00:28:14of traffic and they don't see as much
- 00:28:15profit so there's um we're just
- 00:28:18experimenting in this in this piece so
- 00:28:20that we can offer uh some standard
- 00:28:22templates for developers to really um
- 00:28:25start building and customizing based on
- 00:28:28uh how they want to how they want to
- 00:28:29build so um th that's like the the first
- 00:28:33interesting use case we actually just uh
- 00:28:36participated at uh the hackathon with
- 00:28:39polka dot at uh consensus and we had a
- 00:28:42couple interesting submissions one one
- 00:28:44being like a uh a Marketplace for
- 00:28:46athletes called babes uh what they did
- 00:28:49was used the AI agent contract to have
- 00:28:52the users enter a prompt whenever they
- 00:28:54select a chain that they want to uh
- 00:28:56generate so they have a pendant that uh
- 00:28:59gets generated uh into a 3D model and
- 00:29:01then from there that 3D model is then uh
- 00:29:04sent over toonomic to be 3D printed and
- 00:29:07then all that um like supply chain uh
- 00:29:11piece is uh automated on chain and such
- 00:29:14that you could uh then have your uh
- 00:29:16chains being uh shipped to your um users
- 00:29:20that are purchasing these uh chains so I
- 00:29:22thought that was like a really cool like
- 00:29:24introductory use case to like AI agent
- 00:29:26contracts as a piece of your your your
- 00:29:29daps another one was uh
- 00:29:31Foresta um one of the things that they
- 00:29:33used was the uh uh aalon like schroger
- 00:29:38nft they kind of uh forked that and made
- 00:29:40a customization for like encrypted file
- 00:29:43execution with like Access Control
- 00:29:45rights so so a user could Grant um could
- 00:29:49Grant other uh users uh permissions to
- 00:29:51execute this encrypted file so I thought
- 00:29:54that was like a a really interesting uh
- 00:29:56use case as well but um yeah that's
- 00:29:59that's kind of like where we're at right
- 00:30:00now with the AI agents and then one of
- 00:30:03the main things of like uh kind of
- 00:30:05reducing that uh time to to Market or
- 00:30:09development uh experience in a sense is
- 00:30:12uh all this uh agent script part is uh
- 00:30:16written in typescript so uh being able
- 00:30:18to write in typescript and then also uh
- 00:30:21without uh uh without the agent doubt
- 00:30:24part you can you can deploy this uh
- 00:30:26directly without even having a uh wallet
- 00:30:29so you could kind of it's kind of you
- 00:30:31could think of it as kind of like a
- 00:30:32fancy little HTTP server at your
- 00:30:34disposal running inside a te but that's
- 00:30:38yeah that's all I have for this one
- 00:30:39right here wow that's something such
- 00:30:42cool use cases um and definitely you
- 00:30:45know yeah a lot of people can relate to
- 00:30:47that even if they're not um they're new
- 00:30:49to the web free world I think it's
- 00:30:51definitely easy for a lot of them to get
- 00:30:53into that especially with all the hype
- 00:30:54about the AI I think that's that's a
- 00:30:56good one I to get people interested
- 00:30:58fantastic um no thank you so much for
- 00:31:00sharing all of this and D I want to
- 00:31:02actually go to you and um do you mind
- 00:31:05talking about how kill and utilizes the
- 00:31:09did Services I think that's going to be
- 00:31:11a very interesting case to talk about um
- 00:31:14and anything else that you'd like to add
- 00:31:16yeah absolutely now I just wanted to say
- 00:31:18uh it's like a really cool use case as
- 00:31:20well Joshua so I just wanted to give
- 00:31:22that like the Rob robotics one as well
- 00:31:26but yeah uh for Kil it's itself um yeah
- 00:31:29we we pretty much want to provide a
- 00:31:32standard digital identity um and this
- 00:31:35comes basically from what I mentioned
- 00:31:36earlier regarding um using these
- 00:31:39specific standards from the worldwide
- 00:31:40Web Consortium um called decentralized
- 00:31:43identifiers or dids for short and in
- 00:31:46combination with verifiable credentials
- 00:31:48so again uh we expect like businesses
- 00:31:51and users to both um need these and in a
- 00:31:55way that uh this is the foundation of
- 00:31:57like digital identity solution right we
- 00:31:59provide uh we really want to give
- 00:32:01control back to the individual users and
- 00:32:04kind of allow them to make those
- 00:32:06decisions about who are they um actively
- 00:32:08working with or to authenticate or
- 00:32:11authorize them to have some form of
- 00:32:14Access Control to business services so
- 00:32:17again um our solution wants to return
- 00:32:19the control to the users and offload the
- 00:32:22burden of uh uh protecting user data
- 00:32:25from businesses right so again
- 00:32:28some some of these businesses do not
- 00:32:30want to like control uh these projects
- 00:32:33uh these users uh data um and it's
- 00:32:37understandable I mean if we look at like
- 00:32:39anything for the gdpr um you have to be
- 00:32:41compliant and make sure that you're
- 00:32:43holding this data and is expensive and
- 00:32:45again there's um some dangerous uh
- 00:32:50practices out there and some people
- 00:32:52don't know how to manage the data
- 00:32:54there's data leaks and so forth so it's
- 00:32:56not just dangerous for the businesses
- 00:32:58especially when it costs uh but it's
- 00:33:00also dangerous for the uh users to have
- 00:33:02their U exposing their data unwillingly
- 00:33:06or willingly to maybe unsaved
- 00:33:08reactors uh that want to use their data
- 00:33:11so for us uh dids is a perfect solution
- 00:33:13for this right so um an individual has a
- 00:33:17set of cryptographic material um keys in
- 00:33:20that case and they can freely disclose
- 00:33:24uh their credentials or claims about
- 00:33:26oneself uh to businesses as long as
- 00:33:29they're um free to choose um who to
- 00:33:33disclose to um we believe that's um up
- 00:33:36to the user's choice and actively uh
- 00:33:38they can opt in and opt out of um
- 00:33:41Solutions especially with uh credentials
- 00:33:44so we see businesses looking to go that
- 00:33:47way um not just businesses but uh
- 00:33:49government bodies um they see the the
- 00:33:51the need for users to have their digital
- 00:33:53identity in their control so again we're
- 00:33:56seeing real world cases coming up um
- 00:34:00people have been neglecting the digital
- 00:34:02world for some time regarding their
- 00:34:04identity and it's time that uh yeah we
- 00:34:08we allow businesses um ways to build
- 00:34:11services on top of it so again I know
- 00:34:13that Francesco mentioned some of these
- 00:34:15bottlenecks that individuals come in and
- 00:34:17they're having issues with uh on
- 00:34:20boarding and individuals have bad
- 00:34:23experiences and if we're not capable or
- 00:34:25we not able to give them a better
- 00:34:27experience
- 00:34:28that developer is going to not tell
- 00:34:31their colleagues or friends about the
- 00:34:33solution they used and it's not going to
- 00:34:36make them want to talk about it I mean
- 00:34:38again some of these solutions that we've
- 00:34:40seen in the past in web 2 Worlds they're
- 00:34:42very convenient and very easy to use and
- 00:34:44that brings the word of mouth to
- 00:34:46individuals and then allows them to to
- 00:34:48build again and again again on these
- 00:34:50same software and same Frameworks and so
- 00:34:52forth um so we're hoping to to provide
- 00:34:56that um we we have a mude of services
- 00:34:58again I mostly work on dap development
- 00:35:01and stuff like that so I've buil several
- 00:35:04daps um again continually proving and
- 00:35:07continually trying to make the
- 00:35:08onboarding step easier for people and um
- 00:35:12I think it's just inevitable that we'll
- 00:35:16work on this and I think dads and
- 00:35:20verifiable credentials will have its
- 00:35:22place in not just the web 3 world but
- 00:35:24the web two world and allow individuals
- 00:35:27to to build um products out of them have
- 00:35:31access control have memberships um
- 00:35:33available them to them to to to build
- 00:35:37again um clubs like we used to back in
- 00:35:412006 when we first started playing video
- 00:35:43games having your own uh clan um or
- 00:35:47groups of people and having that sort of
- 00:35:50Grassroots spill and um giving those
- 00:35:53people um that opportunity again with Ds
- 00:35:56and verifiable potentials so again I see
- 00:35:59a lot of potential and I see a lot of
- 00:36:01things that we could do with it uh we
- 00:36:03just got to make sure the experience is
- 00:36:05there for them that they go and tell
- 00:36:07their friends or colleagues about the
- 00:36:09the stuff that we're building yeah so no
- 00:36:12absolutely I'm knowing about is so
- 00:36:14important but do you think also that
- 00:36:16being aware of the importance of the
- 00:36:18digital identity is also part of it do
- 00:36:20you think that some people don't pay too
- 00:36:22much attention to it and just throw the
- 00:36:24data around in the internet too easily
- 00:36:26yeah I I feel like uh you're totally
- 00:36:28right there people do um don't respect
- 00:36:31your digital Identity or your data that
- 00:36:34we're consuming or giving away I mean um
- 00:36:37there's a billion dollar compan uh
- 00:36:39companies out there that monopolize on
- 00:36:41it and obviously they're monopolizing up
- 00:36:43for some reason um and I think
- 00:36:47individuals um want more convenience but
- 00:36:50um if we can provide the same level of
- 00:36:52convenience or maybe slightly less while
- 00:36:54giving them control I think um that's
- 00:36:58the The Narrative as well I mean it's
- 00:37:00it's hard to to explain to some of my
- 00:37:03family members uh what's the importance
- 00:37:05of um data sharing or what information
- 00:37:10you share out there um I I'd love to
- 00:37:13introduce them to podcasts regarding
- 00:37:16like uh dark neck Diaries which explains
- 00:37:19some of the vulnerabilities that happen
- 00:37:21and again um they listen to one or two
- 00:37:24podcasts and they start to realize the
- 00:37:26the dangers that they put themselves in
- 00:37:28or their children in uh by sharing these
- 00:37:31types of data um I know that there's
- 00:37:34again legislation out there that's um
- 00:37:36trying to work towards it but it's at
- 00:37:39the same time kind of kneecapping some
- 00:37:40of these developments that we have
- 00:37:42especially um yeah again it's it's hard
- 00:37:46it's very hard yeah
- 00:37:50people but it's a very important issue
- 00:37:52and hopefully more people realize um
- 00:37:54that they should be more careful and
- 00:37:56that there are other
- 00:37:58to to the internet as well absolutely um
- 00:38:01thank you D so much Tony let's um let's
- 00:38:03maybe move to you and I mean all of our
- 00:38:06speakers have shared the use of the
- 00:38:09technology and what they been building
- 00:38:10but I think one of the interesting
- 00:38:12things about lais is actually the use of
- 00:38:14the XDM something very specific um to
- 00:38:18poka do so maybe we can talk a little
- 00:38:20bit about that Tony and how the XM how
- 00:38:23La leverages the XM capabilities to
- 00:38:26enable builders on poet
- 00:38:28and across the web three that'll be very
- 00:38:29interesting sure sure yeah yeah so well
- 00:38:32on the one hand we use it the standard
- 00:38:34way that looks standard to us but uh I
- 00:38:36think for the rest of outside ecosystems
- 00:38:39being able to transfer uh things uh to
- 00:38:41other layer ones in a fully uh secure uh
- 00:38:46and not mandated by intermediaries way
- 00:38:49uh is amazing so we use that to provide
- 00:38:51we will use that to provide liquidity to
- 00:38:52the Token you allow it to be in exchange
- 00:38:55in different part chains uh the standard
- 00:38:58thing but besides that we've leveraged
- 00:39:01if you want part of the technology and
- 00:39:02also the spirit of xcm of being able to
- 00:39:05from one par chain from one chain
- 00:39:07Sovereign chain being able to refer to
- 00:39:10things that live on another consensus
- 00:39:12system all right not necessarily inside
- 00:39:15padot but even outside and this is one
- 00:39:18of the things that through Universal
- 00:39:19location is part of XM version three uh
- 00:39:23We've completely leveraged that and
- 00:39:24boost it on steroids and used it to be
- 00:39:28able to connect as we were saying before
- 00:39:30ethereum and padot or you know polygon
- 00:39:32and padot through La so the outcome of
- 00:39:37this is the following right so so
- 00:39:39thinking about use cases again so you
- 00:39:41are and these are very real use cases
- 00:39:43right you have a video game that's free
- 00:39:45to play everybody downloads it it's
- 00:39:47obviously free and you want you maybe
- 00:39:49you want your users to experience
- 00:39:50ownership from day one since they since
- 00:39:53they download it right so give them nfts
- 00:39:55for free maybe it's a soccer manager
- 00:39:57game so give them 18 nfts just for
- 00:39:59downloading the game you want to do
- 00:40:02something similar with real world asset
- 00:40:04you want to tokenize all the car titles
- 00:40:06I saw one of the comments there or
- 00:40:07anything that's at a massive scale right
- 00:40:10great you want to do it in a place where
- 00:40:13liquidity sits where all your eyes are
- 00:40:15all the eyes in the world are there
- 00:40:16where buyers purchases are potentially
- 00:40:18there where people all the ecosystem is
- 00:40:19already compatible there right okay you
- 00:40:21cannot you cannot do it on ethereum
- 00:40:23that's your your your number one place
- 00:40:25to go you just can't right so so you
- 00:40:27start looking at layer tws that's a
- 00:40:29normal procedure as as we've seen out
- 00:40:31there for years now they most of them
- 00:40:34will end up in layer twos or layer
- 00:40:37threes that as Francisco was saying they
- 00:40:39are just
- 00:40:40centralized put the name you want
- 00:40:42afterwards sequencers this have they
- 00:40:44have so many centralized uh components
- 00:40:46please everybody that's looking at us go
- 00:40:48to L2 bit be a I'll try to share the the
- 00:40:52link later. com/ scaling risks and
- 00:40:55you'll see an analysis that's publ for
- 00:40:57all layer twos and layer threes on over
- 00:40:59ethereum with all sort of red flags well
- 00:41:02known about potential issues that they
- 00:41:04already have right but people still do
- 00:41:07that and there's a massive amount of
- 00:41:08total value locked on those chains
- 00:41:11because they want to scale and have the
- 00:41:13feeling that they still somehow are on
- 00:41:15ethereum or on those major ecosystems so
- 00:41:18on the one hand they pay the tradeoff of
- 00:41:20security on the second hand all their
- 00:41:23users are not just going to be in a less
- 00:41:25secure place they ALS going to have a
- 00:41:28severe ux problem they're going to use a
- 00:41:29bridge so to be able to operate they're
- 00:41:32going to have to bridge if okay what's
- 00:41:35bridging and we're talking about the
- 00:41:36mainstream we all have the dream of
- 00:41:38reaching the mainstream what's a bridge
- 00:41:40what's wrapped something so and why do I
- 00:41:43even have to pay to start doing anything
- 00:41:46with all those you know there's a severe
- 00:41:48ux issue as well when people go through
- 00:41:50these other Solutions so with Laos and
- 00:41:55thanks to paulot uh there's a number of
- 00:41:58things they can do while remaining on
- 00:42:00ethereum or while wherever they wanted
- 00:42:02to choose because they think that's
- 00:42:04where the ideal ecosystem is for them
- 00:42:06without departing from there just of
- 00:42:09loading part of the costs of operating
- 00:42:12there so say you want to Mint all those
- 00:42:14assets you want to meet 1 million FS
- 00:42:16right now on ethereum it's not just that
- 00:42:19you're going to pay hundreds of millions
- 00:42:20of dollars worth of it you're just not
- 00:42:23going to be able to make it today for
- 00:42:24you have to wait a couple of weeks for
- 00:42:26those transaction to be processed right
- 00:42:28so instead you use LA to upload all
- 00:42:32those cost costs in the background as
- 00:42:35xcm this extension of XM that we talked
- 00:42:37about at the beginning um but for the
- 00:42:41end
- 00:42:42user you all those millions of nfts go
- 00:42:44to recipients that see the nfts on
- 00:42:47ethereum they trade them with it they
- 00:42:49trade them on openc or you know they
- 00:42:51favorite Marketplace and they do defy
- 00:42:53with all the defy ecosystem right there
- 00:42:55and same for eum same for poly whatever
- 00:42:57the the developer chose the developer is
- 00:42:59the only one that knows that LA and P do
- 00:43:01exists their users don't necessarily if
- 00:43:04they don't and that's Beauty because
- 00:43:06they can choose whever they want to be
- 00:43:08because it benefits the application
- 00:43:09without having to boot stuff from
- 00:43:11without having to go through Bridges and
- 00:43:12L2 and all that thing right so we think
- 00:43:15that's a that's that's solving a massive
- 00:43:16problem that's right there today uh not
- 00:43:20not the use case of the future future
- 00:43:22and maybe just finishing the
- 00:43:24intervention there uh we we I spoken a
- 00:43:26lot about about EVMS right so ethereum
- 00:43:28and all those but the same will be
- 00:43:30applied to uh Bitcoin by the end of this
- 00:43:32year so la will also be connected there
- 00:43:34we have Grant to help support uh this
- 00:43:37transition as well and just to give a
- 00:43:38number so in the last months people have
- 00:43:40gone crazy meting on bitcoin I don't
- 00:43:43judge why but clearly they see the value
- 00:43:45why so they they've spent half a billion
- 00:43:47dollars on minting nfts since nfts
- 00:43:49became through ordinals and inscriptions
- 00:43:51a think on PO on on bitcoin and again
- 00:43:54I'm not judging it but the problem is
- 00:43:56there and they are paying a billion just
- 00:43:58to be able to do that right so again
- 00:44:00with PKA do they're going to be able to
- 00:44:01do that much more and at a fraction of
- 00:44:04the cost so that's that's the kind of
- 00:44:06things uh that we're building and that
- 00:44:08we think it solves uh concrete issues
- 00:44:10that we have right now without getting
- 00:44:12into the details of why are all these
- 00:44:14things being used which is an external
- 00:44:17layer yeah yeah no exciting well we're
- 00:44:20looking forward to to this next step um
- 00:44:22T is will be really great and very
- 00:44:25comprehensible um user case for a lot of
- 00:44:28those um who are also new to the web
- 00:44:29free world I think um really provides a
- 00:44:32lot of value thank you so much for that
- 00:44:34so thank you all of you for sharing
- 00:44:36about your projects I think these are
- 00:44:38incredible use cases and we just need to
- 00:44:41make sure that more of the world knows
- 00:44:43about it outside the B um. ecosystem as
- 00:44:47well um but now we're coming close to
- 00:44:50our um talk now and what I want to talk
- 00:44:52about now is there are a lot of changes
- 00:44:55in pokka dot poka do is always changing
- 00:44:57always improving and evolving and
- 00:45:00recently there's been the introduction
- 00:45:02of the agile core time and elastic
- 00:45:04scaling and synchronous backing is
- 00:45:06already here so how do you see this
- 00:45:08changes impacting your projects in the
- 00:45:10future and now in the case of um as
- 00:45:13synchronous backing for example um maybe
- 00:45:15I'll ask Francisco for that question
- 00:45:19first yeah I think these are pretty
- 00:45:20important upgrades for the the PO for
- 00:45:22polka dots protocol right I think you
- 00:45:24know polka dot 1.0
- 00:45:27probably the the biggest shortcoming or
- 00:45:29the biggest flaw of that that V1 was the
- 00:45:33barriers of Entry that it imposed on
- 00:45:35Builders right um I mean if you if the
- 00:45:39first step that you need to take into an
- 00:45:40ecosystem is win an auction and that
- 00:45:43auction you require to front like six
- 00:45:48figures that is just going to drive away
- 00:45:50a lot of Builders right um because you
- 00:45:53know there's no guarantees that at the
- 00:45:54end of the day your your chain is going
- 00:45:55to be successful right it's kind of the
- 00:45:57equivalent of telling an entrepreneur
- 00:45:58who sells I don't know tables you know
- 00:46:00you have to purchase half a million
- 00:46:02dollars worth of tables in inventory
- 00:46:04without having made a single sale right
- 00:46:05so you're taking a huge risk in
- 00:46:07purchasing all this inventory which is
- 00:46:09equivalent to block space and then you
- 00:46:11launch and you don't even know if you're
- 00:46:12going to get product Market fit right so
- 00:46:14already there I think that was that was
- 00:46:15a flaw with the first version of polka
- 00:46:17dot so I'm I'm pretty excited by by kind
- 00:46:20of para threads or on demand chains and
- 00:46:23agile core time because it effectively
- 00:46:25just reduces the barrier of Entry
- 00:46:27significantly for the builders uh so uh
- 00:46:29the developers that just want to get
- 00:46:31started in the ecosystem they can uh go
- 00:46:33for the on demand model try to build
- 00:46:35something if they get traction then they
- 00:46:37can then upgrade into kind of a a
- 00:46:39reserve model and purchase a bunch of
- 00:46:41block space um so that I think is really
- 00:46:44exciting uh tansy I think is very
- 00:46:46complimentary to that model uh in fact
- 00:46:48it was originally conceived with this
- 00:46:50kind of parath thread or on demand chain
- 00:46:51model um and and we plan to offer both
- 00:46:55both things right like a spot versus
- 00:46:56Reserve model so and at the end of the
- 00:46:58day you're still going to need to
- 00:46:59produce blocks even if it's an ond
- 00:47:01demand model right so you'll still have
- 00:47:02to bootstrap um block production nodes
- 00:47:05with tany that makes it even more
- 00:47:06seamless right if you want to produce a
- 00:47:08block you can use our protocol to to do
- 00:47:10that and then if you get traction you
- 00:47:11can upgrade into a full par chain or
- 00:47:14even migrate away right and then you
- 00:47:17know with agile core time it's also
- 00:47:19exciting because it adds like elastic
- 00:47:20scaling and all these things but I'm I
- 00:47:22think that can come later right like
- 00:47:24once you have traction being able to add
- 00:47:26more core such is important but I think
- 00:47:28it's more essential to reduce the
- 00:47:29barriers of entry into the ecosystem by
- 00:47:31removing this auction mechanism so that
- 00:47:33we can get more people in um and yeah
- 00:47:36tany I think is was originally built
- 00:47:37with that with that model in mind right
- 00:47:39so I'm pretty excited um about about
- 00:47:43that awesome yeah this is really this
- 00:47:46these are fantastic changes for a lot of
- 00:47:48people so we really want to see um where
- 00:47:50it takes um poo 2.0 to the next levels
- 00:47:54Josh how does it affect your F Network
- 00:47:57what are the implications for
- 00:47:59you oh yeah I mean Franchesco did a
- 00:48:03really good job answering this uh we're
- 00:48:05kind of like in we have the similar
- 00:48:06mindset for for us like for for us we
- 00:48:09think of it uh as like the the point of
- 00:48:11core time is just to lower down that
- 00:48:13barrier to entry for for polka dot so
- 00:48:16onboarding new devs onboarding uh new
- 00:48:20developers and applications to be able
- 00:48:21to be built on top of poke polka dot and
- 00:48:23kind of Leverage all the different
- 00:48:24technology and then also thinking of
- 00:48:26that it it creates this like Network
- 00:48:28effect also like getting exposure to the
- 00:48:30different uh projects that are already
- 00:48:32deployed on on top of polka dot so so
- 00:48:34for us uh we find it as like more
- 00:48:36developers coming in they'll get
- 00:48:39exposure to some of these great projects
- 00:48:41that are already here talking with us
- 00:48:42and others in the ecosystem and
- 00:48:44including us and we're we're thinking
- 00:48:46that that will help increase the
- 00:48:48developer adoption and start to see a
- 00:48:51lot more use cases uh and also like with
- 00:48:53Asing backing it's gonna uh it's going
- 00:48:55to make the lower so better performance
- 00:48:58is also a plus as well so I I I I find
- 00:49:01it as a like a net positive for for us
- 00:49:04and for everyone here as well absolutely
- 00:49:08absolutely um well we're moving very
- 00:49:11fast now and we only have 10 minutes
- 00:49:12left before um we have to conclude our
- 00:49:15talk so I suggest we move on to the
- 00:49:17closing remarks and maybe anything you
- 00:49:19want to say you are excited about it's
- 00:49:22coming up for the rest of
- 00:49:242024 the year is nearly up um we halfway
- 00:49:27through and also where the listeners can
- 00:49:29find yesly um do you mind sharing a few
- 00:49:32last remarks to our listeners that you
- 00:49:34want to leave them with and also where
- 00:49:37um those who are interested to learn
- 00:49:38more um Can can find you yeah absolutely
- 00:49:42um I just want to say thank you um for
- 00:49:45having me here and the rest of the the
- 00:49:47panel as well um unfortunately I won't
- 00:49:50be coming to poka decoda this year um
- 00:49:53it's it's aligned with my um
- 00:49:57uh time off but I am was super excited
- 00:50:00especially with all of the new things
- 00:50:02coming out and the whole topic of uh Jam
- 00:50:05so I think if you do have the
- 00:50:07opportunity and you do have the the
- 00:50:09funds to go see um here what's actually
- 00:50:12happening I I would love to see what's
- 00:50:14um going to be done decoded I can
- 00:50:16imagine there will be lots of hot topics
- 00:50:18about Jam I think the the rest of the
- 00:50:21year is going to be uh very exciting I
- 00:50:23think uh for for for those um following
- 00:50:27jam and all of the potential growth
- 00:50:29paths
- 00:50:31for for the ecosystem I think this is um
- 00:50:35going to be a very exciting um polka dot
- 00:50:38decoded something that I think is going
- 00:50:40to be definitely a big change um a great
- 00:50:44change and I think um one that uh for me
- 00:50:48personally would love to see and uh um
- 00:50:50be part of as well so I would just say
- 00:50:53that if you can find us at Kilt protocol
- 00:50:56unfortunately I don't have any Twitter
- 00:50:58I'm not on any social medias and so for
- 00:51:02me uh yeah you can find us on our
- 00:51:04Discord again um we have a website K.O
- 00:51:08you can you can have a look there my
- 00:51:10telegram handle and you find all all
- 00:51:13everything on in the bio but yeah I just
- 00:51:15would like to say thanks everyone um and
- 00:51:19excited about some of the upcoming stuff
- 00:51:21as well um elastic scaling and all this
- 00:51:25but yeah I think pokka do de code is
- 00:51:27going to be very exciting so
- 00:51:29yeah thank you dadle yes absolutely
- 00:51:32there's going to be lots happening there
- 00:51:33and for those who can't make it in
- 00:51:35person there's always the virtual live
- 00:51:37streams and also you can connect with a
- 00:51:39lot of uh teams virtually as well so um
- 00:51:43I'm sure maybe some of you also have
- 00:51:44virtual booths available so those people
- 00:51:46can um can connect with you as well um
- 00:51:49Tony any last remarks from you and also
- 00:51:52are you going to be at decoded and your
- 00:51:53team yes yes we are uh excited because
- 00:51:56it's going to coincide with tge for our
- 00:51:58network uh so we're super super happy
- 00:52:01there and three things that we look
- 00:52:02forward uh uh in the next uh months I'll
- 00:52:05be super quick one hey the public uh
- 00:52:08pre-sale of our tokens will be live also
- 00:52:11on the 11th so you can register now go
- 00:52:13to la. network if you la network. if you
- 00:52:15want to contribute uh to the project two
- 00:52:19we're super excited about the Bitcoin
- 00:52:20possibility that we talked about so any
- 00:52:22Bitcoin Bitcoin developer uh in the talk
- 00:52:25uh reach out to to us because we have
- 00:52:27generous grants to make that happen and
- 00:52:30the third one yes and again a call to
- 00:52:32all developers on on P I think we are
- 00:52:35not considering enough the possibilities
- 00:52:37of the bridge that's being set the snow
- 00:52:40bridge that is being set between poot
- 00:52:41and ethereum uh we think about it a lot
- 00:52:44in terms of oh yeah we can bring uh if
- 00:52:47back you know not back but to padot for
- 00:52:49the first time in a secure way and
- 00:52:50you'll get all the all liquidity here
- 00:52:53but hey there's much more we can do uh
- 00:52:55we have the root of all the state on
- 00:52:58ethereum and Hance all the state of all
- 00:53:01the layer twos and layer threes on
- 00:53:03ethereum and vice versa at Le at least
- 00:53:05when the bridge works both sides they
- 00:53:08have everything that we're doing
- 00:53:09available on ethereum as well including
- 00:53:12killed uh identity for example people
- 00:53:14registering killed or you know executing
- 00:53:16things that can prove in just one single
- 00:53:18transaction without actually having to
- 00:53:19move from killed to ethereum that they
- 00:53:22actually have passed whatever kyc uh in
- 00:53:25killed things like this are you know are
- 00:53:28enabling use cases that maybe we are not
- 00:53:30thinking hard enough that are going to
- 00:53:31be enabled over the next few
- 00:53:34months yeah fantastic point I mean
- 00:53:37there's a lot so much happening um that
- 00:53:39maybe there's not enough time to think
- 00:53:41about all those things but you you're
- 00:53:42completely right it's important that we
- 00:53:44take all of this into consideration and
- 00:53:45I'm sure there'll be a lot more
- 00:53:46developers who be um to work in this
- 00:53:49though thank you so much for this ton
- 00:53:51super exciting um so Francisco any
- 00:53:54closing remarks from you and where can
- 00:53:56the list find you and connect with you
- 00:53:59um yeah first of all thanks a lot for
- 00:54:01having me it's always a pleasure to
- 00:54:02participate in these events um I think
- 00:54:05yeah the things that I'm looking forward
- 00:54:07to in 2024 is obviously the launch of
- 00:54:09tansy so we're going to be launching the
- 00:54:11protocol this year so that should that
- 00:54:13that's exciting and if anybody's curious
- 00:54:15to follow us you can yeah I think
- 00:54:16Twitter's a good place so tansy Network
- 00:54:18and you can kind of stay up to date with
- 00:54:20everything that's happening but yeah
- 00:54:21thanks again for having me today it was
- 00:54:23a pleasure fantastic are you going to
- 00:54:26give it the coded as well I was going to
- 00:54:28but unfortunately had to cancel the trip
- 00:54:30uh but there's going to be many people
- 00:54:32from our team there uh so if anybody's
- 00:54:33curious they could they can catch up I
- 00:54:35think we're gonna have a booth as well
- 00:54:36yeah fantastic great thank you so much
- 00:54:39for Francisco josa any closing remarks
- 00:54:42and how can people connect with you uh
- 00:54:45yeah so um some of the closing remarks
- 00:54:47like over the last half of the year
- 00:54:49we're going to have a few hackathons
- 00:54:50that we're running so I'm really excited
- 00:54:52about that seeing like what developers
- 00:54:54built but also getting that development
- 00:54:56uh developer feedback and kind of like
- 00:54:58reiterating and seeing where we can
- 00:54:59improve so I'm I'm really excited about
- 00:55:01that and along with like building more
- 00:55:04in what I would say is like intelligent
- 00:55:06interfaces to web three services so
- 00:55:08being able to leverage these AI agent
- 00:55:10contracts to to build something uh that
- 00:55:13makes understanding web 3 a lot easier
- 00:55:16and easier to interact with and build
- 00:55:19applications with so that that's these
- 00:55:20are some of the uh uh things I'm most
- 00:55:23excited about uh also be at uh decoded
- 00:55:26and in Brussels from I I'll be there a
- 00:55:29long time so uh if anybody wants to uh
- 00:55:31reach out to me it's warlock uh for
- 00:55:35pretty much everything and then also uh
- 00:55:37make sure to follow the latest news at
- 00:55:39follow Network and uh join our Discord
- 00:55:42if you would like as well and uh yeah
- 00:55:44I'm happy to talk with anybody and see
- 00:55:46people at the event as well so it's very
- 00:55:48nice to be here and thank you for
- 00:55:50inviting me thank you so much to
- 00:55:52everybody for making such insightful and
- 00:55:55really valuable contribution I'm sure
- 00:55:56all the listeners learned so much and
- 00:55:58being now very inspired and those
- 00:56:00developers out there were just jumping
- 00:56:02and starting thinking about how they can
- 00:56:04contribute to all these user cases so
- 00:56:06thank you so much for sharing your
- 00:56:07insights and also inspiring all of us um
- 00:56:11going forward and we look forward what's
- 00:56:13going to be the developments for all of
- 00:56:15you for the end of the year and maybe
- 00:56:16we'll reconvene back in a few months and
- 00:56:19see what has happen um so we'll be
- 00:56:21really glad to see you back again thank
- 00:56:23you so very much and any of the
- 00:56:25listeners if you have any more question
- 00:56:26questions please drop in the comments
- 00:56:27and we'll try to answer them inviting
