00:00:01
When you become
00:00:02
indifferent to injustice,
00:00:03
that's a problem of Iman.
00:00:05
That's a problem of faith.
00:00:07
And you look at the Prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam,
00:00:10
and the way that he would react
00:00:12
when he saw someone being wronged.
00:00:15
And he had such a hatred for oppression,
00:00:18
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam,
00:00:19
and that was because the Prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:00:22
loved what Allah loved,
00:00:23
and the Prophet Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam hated
00:00:25
what Allah hated. And Allah
Azawajal hates oppression
00:00:28
and has made it forbidden between us.
00:00:31
So, what would it be like
00:00:32
when the Prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:00:34
saw you being wronged
00:00:35
or saw you wronging someone
else in his presence?
00:00:39
(dramatic music)
00:00:47
The ahadith in this regard
00:00:48
are actually too many to count for.
00:00:52
And this was of course, how
Khadija radiAllahu ta'ala Anha
00:00:54
had described the prophet
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam,
00:00:55
as one of the descriptions
tu'in wa ala na abl haq.
00:00:58
You support everyone that
had a righteous cause
00:01:01
there for people in every way that
00:01:03
they need you to be there.
00:01:04
So if that means money,
then you give them money.
00:01:07
If that means help,
then you give them help.
00:01:09
If that means emotional support,
00:01:11
you give them emotional support.
00:01:12
And if that means when
they are being wronged
00:01:15
and they find no one to
advocate on their behalf
00:01:18
you are the one SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:01:20
that will stand up for them.
00:01:21
And that was the prophet
Sallallahu in them before Islam.
00:01:24
So, how about after he came
into the divine realization?
00:01:27
Abu Mas'ud al-Badri he reports
a narration about himself
00:01:31
and it's not a pleasant
narration about himself.
00:01:33
And I want to preface this, with that,
00:01:36
for the reason that sometimes these people
00:01:38
would share these things about
themselves to teach a lesson
00:01:41
to the ummah and to share with you
00:01:43
what your messenger Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam was like
00:01:46
and the lessons they have learnt from him.
00:01:47
So Abu Mas'ud is actually the wrongdoer
00:01:50
in this narration that
he himself narrates.
00:01:53
He says that I had a slave
of mine that I was beating
00:01:57
and I was in a fit of
rage as I was beating him.
00:02:00
And, as I was whipping
him, and whipping him,
00:02:03
and whipping him,
00:02:04
I heard a man say, Aba
Mas'ud, Aba Mas'ud, Aba Mas'ud
00:02:10
He was shouting my name.
00:02:11
And he said, lam afHamas saud minal ghadab
00:02:14
I could not recognize the voice
00:02:16
because of the rage that I was in.
00:02:18
Illam ya Aba Mas'ud! no O
Abu Mas'ud, no O Abu Mas'ud!
00:02:22
until I realized that was the voice
00:02:24
of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
00:02:26
And I wasn't used to
hearing his voice that way.
00:02:29
So Abu Mas'ud I looked at the prophet
00:02:31
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam
And I saw his anger
00:02:34
when he was calling out
to me, "no O Abu Mas'ud"
00:02:36
And he said, I dropped the whip
00:02:38
and the prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam said to me,
00:02:40
in a strong voice, he says
00:02:42
Allahu akdar wa ilayka
minka adha hathal wallaam
00:02:46
Allah is more powerful.
00:02:48
Allah has more authority over you,
00:02:51
then you have over this young man.
00:02:52
Allah could do to you in
a for more capable manner
00:02:56
than what you could do to this man.
00:02:58
And Abu Mas'ud was shocked by the anger
00:03:02
of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
00:03:04
And the way that the Prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:03:05
was standing up for that young man.
00:03:08
So, how you find this in
almost every situation
00:03:12
and things that are
very, very close to us.
00:03:14
A woman who comes to the Prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:03:16
in a narration from Ali ibn Abi
Talib radiAllahu ta'ala Anhu
00:03:19
and she came to the prophet
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:03:21
to plead about the way that
she was being mistreated.
00:03:24
Now, al-Mujadila, Allah
revealed a whole surah,
00:03:27
about a woman who came
to plead to the prophet
00:03:29
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam about
being in a difficult state.
00:03:32
This was a woman that came to the
00:03:34
Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:03:35
and she was concealing her identity.
00:03:37
And she says to the Prophet
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam,
00:03:39
that my husband is beating me.
00:03:41
The prophet SallAllahu Alaihi
Wasallam says, tell him
00:03:43
you are under the protection
of the messenger of Allah.
00:03:45
I mean, what a guarantee, right?
00:03:47
Go back to him and tell him
you are under my protection.
00:03:51
She came back and she says
he hit me again Ya Rasulullah
00:03:54
And again, she doesn't want
to reveal her identity.
00:03:57
That's the implication of the hadith.
00:03:59
The Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi
Wasallam takes a piece of his
00:04:02
shirt, and he gives her a
piece of his shirt as proof.
00:04:06
Go back to him,
00:04:07
and tell him that you are
under the protection of
00:04:10
Rasulullah SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:04:12
You are under the protection
of the messenger of Allah,
00:04:15
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
00:04:17
And she goes back to her husband
00:04:19
with a piece of the shirt
00:04:21
of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam,
00:04:23
and she comes back and
she says Ya Rasulullah,
00:04:26
he hit me again.
00:04:27
And the Prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam raises his hands
00:04:30
to the sky And he starts to make dua'a,
00:04:33
He starts to pray against her husband.
00:04:34
subhanAllah, I mean
00:04:35
the Prophet Sallallahu
took this so seriously.
00:04:38
He didn't say, well, I
can't help you anymore.
00:04:39
No, the Prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam took it so
00:04:43
seriously that he actually
started to make dua against the
00:04:45
man because he continued to oppress her.
00:04:47
Even after he sent his own garment,
00:04:50
a piece of his own garment with her,
00:04:52
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam.
00:04:54
And by the way, this was amazing,
00:04:56
that the Prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam would even hear
00:04:58
the complaints of animals,
00:04:59
things that you did not know with speak.
00:05:02
There was a time that you had a bird
00:05:05
that was flapping its wings,
00:05:06
and that was hovering over the sahabah.
00:05:09
And this wasn't a time of an expedition.
00:05:10
So, there are more serious
things at hand, right?
00:05:13
There are things that you have to cater to
00:05:15
as the leader of an army right now.
00:05:17
There is so much that's going on.
00:05:19
And this bird is hovering over the Prophet
00:05:22
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam
and the companions.
00:05:23
And the Prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam looks to the
00:05:25
bird and then he looks to the Sahabah
00:05:27
and he says man faja
anhadhihi bhi wala diha .
00:05:29
Who has hurt this one
in regards to her child?
00:05:32
Who has hurt this one
in regards to her child?
00:05:34
It's probably, if you didn't
know that it was a bird,
00:05:36
you would think he's
talking about a human being
00:05:39
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:05:40
But that's how outraged the
Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi
00:05:42
Wasallam was. That's how he felt.
00:05:43
Who hurts this one in
regards to her child?
00:05:46
And one of the sahabah
mentioned that he took her baby
00:05:48
from the nest
00:05:49
and the Prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam insisted
00:05:51
that you return the eggs back to her nest
00:05:53
so that she doesn't feel
that distress anymore.
00:05:56
You find another narration
subhanAllah also with an animal.
00:05:59
Sahl ibn Amr radiAllahu
ta'ala Anhu, he says that
00:06:01
the Prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam passed by
00:06:03
a camel and that camel's
stomach touched its back
00:06:06
meaning it had such little food that
00:06:09
you could see its stomach
touching its back.
00:06:11
There was no weight on it.
00:06:12
And the Prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam went to the camel
00:06:14
and the Prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam started to
00:06:17
comfort the camel. And he said, fear Allah
00:06:19
in regards to these
animals that don't speak.
00:06:21
You ride them while
they're in good health.
00:06:23
You eat them while they're in good health
00:06:25
you should feed them while
they're in good health.
00:06:26
Take care of these animals, right?
00:06:28
The Prophet SallAllahu
Alaihi Wasallam said that
00:06:30
this camel is complaining to me.
00:06:32
So, you find that the Prophet
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:06:34
does not ignore the call of the oppressed.
00:06:38
Even if no one else hears that call,
00:06:40
but him, Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
00:06:42
And even if others hear the call,
00:06:45
but they don't think that
00:06:46
the call is significant enough to answer.
00:06:48
No call of the one that was
wrong was ever insignificant
00:06:52
to the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
00:06:53
Even if everybody else ignored it.
00:06:56
