- 00:00:41ah a very warm welcome to my new kitchen
- 00:00:46I am so excited to tell you that oh it's
- 00:00:50been a journey 8 years ago I started my
- 00:00:52YouTube channel bouncing from airbnbs to
- 00:00:57Studio kitchens which cost a fortune
- 00:00:59just try to make it work and now I
- 00:01:01finally have a space that I can call my
- 00:01:04own let me show you around all right
- 00:01:07guys so let's talk about first up I
- 00:01:09guess the actual Cabinets Now I was
- 00:01:13deliberating for such a long time over
- 00:01:16what I was going to do in terms of the
- 00:01:17cabinets because over the past few years
- 00:01:20I've been you know as I said bouncing
- 00:01:22from Airbnb to apartment and it was
- 00:01:25never my own kitchen I never was able to
- 00:01:27put my stamp on anything and the
- 00:01:29kitchens that I inherited were often um
- 00:01:33traditional or just standard sort of
- 00:01:35fitted kitchens and I don't think there
- 00:01:37was a huge amount of Love put into each
- 00:01:38one of them so for example you know the
- 00:01:42the materials would peel or um the wood
- 00:01:45would sort of rot in the corner of the
- 00:01:48cabinets and um sometimes it wasn't even
- 00:01:51wood it was just like a weird fibrous
- 00:01:53MDF material and the kickboards would
- 00:01:56fall down it just it really put me off
- 00:01:58fitted kitchen so for a long time I was
- 00:02:00thinking about actually sourcing
- 00:02:03individual uh antique pieces of
- 00:02:06furniture and then just piecing them
- 00:02:08together to create surface area and
- 00:02:11cabinets and whatnot and I really wanted
- 00:02:14to do that um but after scouring the
- 00:02:17internet and markets and things like
- 00:02:19that I it just became so overwhelming
- 00:02:21for me and I was actually really
- 00:02:23stressed about it for a long time
- 00:02:24because at the end of the day guys this
- 00:02:26is my office this is where I work to
- 00:02:28create the content and it has to be
- 00:02:30perfect for my dream kitchen that I was
- 00:02:32building it was like 3 years planning
- 00:02:35just to get this space um built um so
- 00:02:39anyway what I ended up doing was going
- 00:02:42down the fitted kitchen route for these
- 00:02:44cabinets but I went to a local kitchen
- 00:02:47maker called Harrison and Pope who make
- 00:02:51the kitchens by hand locally and I could
- 00:02:54I went to the showroom and I actually
- 00:02:55heard the kitchens being made and I was
- 00:02:57like right I felt them in the showroom
- 00:02:59room I just knew that these were quality
- 00:03:02kitchens so I'm so happy I ended up
- 00:03:05doing it with them and they actually
- 00:03:07made this whole back area so all of
- 00:03:10these cabinets and the shelf and this is
- 00:03:12a very sort of traditional look to a
- 00:03:15kitchen with the shelf and the pegs and
- 00:03:18the handles because I wanted something
- 00:03:20that was future proof and that could
- 00:03:22stand the test of time I didn't want
- 00:03:24anything super modern or sci-fi that's
- 00:03:28what I call Modern stuff sci-fi it's not
- 00:03:31the right term but I didn't want
- 00:03:32anything that was just going to go out
- 00:03:33of date in a few years I wanted
- 00:03:34something classic and Timeless that
- 00:03:36would fit with all of my pieces that
- 00:03:39I've collected over the years and the
- 00:03:41great thing with Harrison and Pope was
- 00:03:43that I could literally tell them where I
- 00:03:45wanted to draw where I wanted the
- 00:03:46cupboard which meant that gone were the
- 00:03:49days where if any of my friends or
- 00:03:51people visiting my house open up a
- 00:03:54drawer I wouldn't be embarrassed cuz I
- 00:03:56was for so long so for example now my
- 00:03:59spice raw is absolutely oh it makes me
- 00:04:03so happy just opening it and it it makes
- 00:04:05things so much more efficient and when
- 00:04:07I'm cooking I just feel like I'm in the
- 00:04:09zone and that's the beauty of having
- 00:04:11this space now I can be fully creative
- 00:04:14and it's such a joy creating new recipes
- 00:04:16and cooking in here already in the first
- 00:04:19few weeks of having this kitchen I've
- 00:04:21created some mouth water and dishes that
- 00:04:23you'll be able to see soon from making
- 00:04:26my own pasta to making the most
- 00:04:28incredible salar dish all coming soon
- 00:04:31but it's just a joy to be in in here and
- 00:04:35the one thing that's so important with
- 00:04:37my job and film and video and photo is
- 00:04:42lighting so that's what I want to talk
- 00:04:44about next so you know what I could have
- 00:04:48done is had a load of long big glass
- 00:04:51panels but for me again that would be
- 00:04:53very sort of modern and I wanted that
- 00:04:55traditional look so I opted for a
- 00:04:57smaller window just in front of my sink
- 00:04:59so I can look out at the chickens which
- 00:05:01is always very fun in my garden and
- 00:05:04these big roof light Windows which let
- 00:05:07him floods a light so that it's perfect
- 00:05:10for filming and for video and just food
- 00:05:13in general it makes me want to come into
- 00:05:15this space I think you know going
- 00:05:17forward now wherever I live um if I
- 00:05:19don't live here forever that is I'll
- 00:05:21always um dedicate you know a lot of
- 00:05:24attention to finding a place with lots
- 00:05:27of natural light I think that's so
- 00:05:29important to me I'm learning that all
- 00:05:31right so what makes me so happy actually
- 00:05:34is this sink and I I told Harrison and
- 00:05:37Pope the kitchen cabinet makers that I
- 00:05:39needed a big sink my last uh sink that I
- 00:05:42had in the kitchen I inherited was so
- 00:05:44small that it just made it so difficult
- 00:05:46to wash up and now I got this big one I
- 00:05:48could almost have a bath in this I may
- 00:05:50do one day just because I love the
- 00:05:52kitchen so much and then along with it
- 00:05:54this sort of antique brass I wanted this
- 00:05:57kitchen to look like it been cooked in
- 00:05:59and used for years and years and years
- 00:06:01prior to me being here and having things
- 00:06:04like this antique brass is uh I mean it
- 00:06:07just gives it that look and
- 00:06:09also I've been collecting sort of plates
- 00:06:12and bowls and and little props for such
- 00:06:16a long time now if you come and have a
- 00:06:18look at this so these make me so happy
- 00:06:21these are Old Pottery boards so from the
- 00:06:24north of England I think basically in
- 00:06:26Old Potters they would form their clay
- 00:06:29pots on the pottery wheel and then put
- 00:06:31their uh pots to dry on these boards and
- 00:06:35um they had years and years and years of
- 00:06:37use of them and I got them from an
- 00:06:39amazing home store called Bailey's and I
- 00:06:42gave them to my Builder to use as a
- 00:06:43window sill and he was he looked at me
- 00:06:45all confused cuz you thought why do you
- 00:06:47want these Tatty old boards but the look
- 00:06:49of them it just looks aged and it gives
- 00:06:51me that texture and I love love love
- 00:06:53texture so much and I've been collecting
- 00:06:56plates and bowls and ornaments from Mark
- 00:06:59it's for so many years now and I've
- 00:07:01always dreamt of having a place where I
- 00:07:03can put them and they just look at home
- 00:07:05and I feel like just looking at these
- 00:07:07plates with my homegrown Beach shoots in
- 00:07:09and the balls there just looks like it's
- 00:07:12meant to be and that makes me so happy I
- 00:07:14love the little things in life the nice
- 00:07:16things in life I like nice things as
- 00:07:19David Beckham the great philosopher once
- 00:07:22said but it's important to me I think
- 00:07:24that's what life's all about is
- 00:07:25expressing that creativity and and um
- 00:07:28reusing things
- 00:07:30so I'm very grateful of those sort of
- 00:07:32old boards and the antique brass tap oh
- 00:07:36it makes me so happy guys this is is
- 00:07:38really great and I found some Bargains
- 00:07:40along the way too when looking at um
- 00:07:43reused stuff or and I've been on
- 00:07:46Facebook Marketplace and going to Market
- 00:07:48uh markets a lot and the one thing I did
- 00:07:50find an absolute bargain was this big
- 00:07:53mirror mirror what I'm on about I mean
- 00:07:57window gosh had night last night but
- 00:08:00anyway that window is from Facebook
- 00:08:04Marketplace a old stained glass window I
- 00:08:06got it for 18 180 and the original
- 00:08:09winner that was going to be put in there
- 00:08:11was going to be have to be handmade to
- 00:08:12find one that size and circular it was
- 00:08:14going to cost over 2,000 so oh my God
- 00:08:18the more sort of old pieces that I can
- 00:08:20reuse the better and I'm so grateful for
- 00:08:23that window adds a little bit of
- 00:08:25character which is great and talking of
- 00:08:27Facebook Marketplace I actually picked
- 00:08:29up this island on there this is a over
- 00:08:32100y old French antique shop counter so
- 00:08:37it's not a traditional Island but the
- 00:08:39island was a bit of a headache for me I
- 00:08:42knew that I wanted something reclaimed
- 00:08:44and old to sort of just work nicely with
- 00:08:47the new cabinets and I found this island
- 00:08:50on Facebook Marketplace and I think that
- 00:08:52rusticness of it with the paint chip in
- 00:08:55and the dark wood on top really sets off
- 00:08:58nicely with everything else behind me
- 00:09:00it's a little bit low than I would like
- 00:09:04really I could prop it up but um I think
- 00:09:08for now I'm going to use it and we'll
- 00:09:10see what happens in the future whether
- 00:09:11I'll keep this island what do you guys
- 00:09:13think of it do you think this is a good
- 00:09:15look for the kitchen I love the color
- 00:09:17actually of it on the front so yeah
- 00:09:21another great Facebook Marketplace fine
- 00:09:23I'm so grateful for Facebook Marketplace
- 00:09:25actually um but actually nonvert virtual
- 00:09:29markets I often go to all the time so
- 00:09:32in-person markets antique flea markets
- 00:09:35you will see me at them because that's
- 00:09:37where you get a bargain and you this you
- 00:09:39know things were made with so much more
- 00:09:40care and attention years and years ago
- 00:09:43as they were uh as they are nowadays
- 00:09:45unfortunately other than this kitchen by
- 00:09:47Harrison and Pope I must say but often
- 00:09:50you'll see bowls that are over a hundred
- 00:09:53years old in my videos that I didn't
- 00:09:55spend a huge fortune on but their
- 00:09:57quality and they have texure and they
- 00:09:59have life and they have stories locked
- 00:10:00within them and that's the story of this
- 00:10:02whole kitchen actually you know this
- 00:10:05pain in here it's actually over 100
- 00:10:07years old and you know most people may
- 00:10:10say that it looks a bit Tatty now that
- 00:10:12it's it's torn and things like that but
- 00:10:15to me that's The Rustic charm and it's
- 00:10:17absolutely Sensational talking of
- 00:10:19Bargains and antiques these copper pans
- 00:10:22actually I found at a market all four of
- 00:10:25them for1 15s I think that's the beauty
- 00:10:27of going to markets and you know I go
- 00:10:30there with a list actually of things
- 00:10:32that I need and copper pans to hang
- 00:10:34behind my stove were on the list and I
- 00:10:37will come to the stove in a minute
- 00:10:39because I got a great story about that
- 00:10:40but this
- 00:10:42little tin I picked up at a market years
- 00:10:45ago I can't even remember how long ago
- 00:10:46but it's just been sitting around and
- 00:10:48just waiting to be put on a a shelf like
- 00:10:52this and be celebrated and I don't know
- 00:10:54when what year that came from but it
- 00:10:56just makes me happy and um the jar
- 00:10:59I've always dreamt of having jars like
- 00:11:02this filled with my ingredients oh it
- 00:11:04sounds nice with the rain coming down
- 00:11:06now um you know I make my teas in the
- 00:11:08morning I got my Camal and my lemon Bal
- 00:11:11and my lavender and it's just I feel
- 00:11:13like I've got that Apothecary Vibe I
- 00:11:15love old school apothecaries and
- 00:11:17herbalism in general hence why I got
- 00:11:19this old sign there and uh soon with
- 00:11:22these beautiful pegs I'll have all of my
- 00:11:25homegrown ingredients um hanging on
- 00:11:28there I've got at some homegrown sage
- 00:11:30and Candela and garlic there at the
- 00:11:32minute but eventually in the summer time
- 00:11:35these pegs will be utilized for drying
- 00:11:38my ingredients and it'll make the
- 00:11:39kitchen like seasonal almost with
- 00:11:41whatever's in season at the minute
- 00:11:43you'll see it hanging um so let's talk
- 00:11:46about this stove oh my
- 00:11:49word I've always dreamt of having a big
- 00:11:52stove like this and this one is made by
- 00:11:55ilve an Italian stove maker and they
- 00:11:58just make the most dreamy stoves I my
- 00:12:02analogy for this is like a a pianist's
- 00:12:05grand piano this is my grand piano it's
- 00:12:08got so many Hobs I don't even know what
- 00:12:11to do with them all but I'm probably
- 00:12:12going to have to do a dinner party soon
- 00:12:14where I'm utilizing the mall and I can
- 00:12:17have a pan on each one I'm cooking up
- 00:12:19some amazing food so as soon as I get a
- 00:12:21dinner table that's coming soon I'll do
- 00:12:24a big dinner party using this amazing
- 00:12:26stove but right now I'm just using the
- 00:12:27the front ones but this stove is
- 00:12:30beautiful I love the colorway with the
- 00:12:32brass and the silver it just works well
- 00:12:35with everything and the colors in here
- 00:12:37are very neutral and earthy that's what
- 00:12:40I was trying to go for and lots of
- 00:12:42people in response to the Instagram
- 00:12:44video I made about my kitchen said oh
- 00:12:47where on Earth is your splashback you're
- 00:12:49going to get stuff all over the wall
- 00:12:52they could be true initially I was going
- 00:12:54to have old chopping boards like this
- 00:12:57stacked up against it
- 00:13:00but because of this sort of upstand um
- 00:13:03here they don't really fit behind it so
- 00:13:04I'm going to I'm going to work on that
- 00:13:07but right now I'm using the front Hobs I
- 00:13:09have used the back Hobs but I'm not
- 00:13:11tossing things in a pan at the back
- 00:13:12there so there's very little chance of
- 00:13:14anything splashing on there and worst
- 00:13:16case scenario I would just sit up a
- 00:13:18board there or just repaint it if
- 00:13:20anything was to happen um but we'll
- 00:13:24address that maybe in the future if I
- 00:13:26feel like I need a splashback so IL
- 00:13:29thank you so much that is a work of art
- 00:13:32and it just completes the kitchen I'm so
- 00:13:34so over the moon with it it is just
- 00:13:38amazing it's a pleasure to work in here
- 00:13:40I get my little coffee pot in the
- 00:13:42mornings I put that on there and it's
- 00:13:44just a it's just amazing I feel so
- 00:13:46grateful for this space I feel so
- 00:13:48creative in here and I've longed for
- 00:13:50that you know it's been it's been
- 00:13:52actually hard to create um and be
- 00:13:54creative in the previous kitchen I had
- 00:13:58um and cooking out side for the last 3
- 00:13:59years is so challenging especially when
- 00:14:01you're filming so being in here now and
- 00:14:04having this freedom is just the most
- 00:14:06amazing thing I'm so grateful for it
- 00:14:08that's what life is all about for me
- 00:14:10cooking and creating and I can finally
- 00:14:12do it and the lighting is just H it's
- 00:14:14just beautiful all right so the next
- 00:14:16thing I'm going to talk about is a real
- 00:14:18luxury and a game Cher for me in my in
- 00:14:22the kitchen that I inherited from the
- 00:14:23previous owners of this house I H they
- 00:14:27left behind a tap that I just thought
- 00:14:30was a sink and a tap but what I realized
- 00:14:33is actually a boiling water
- 00:14:37tap it wasn't this one this one is made
- 00:14:40by the incredible Kettle a British brand
- 00:14:43that makes 100° Celsius boiling water on
- 00:14:46top so for me you know when I'm cooking
- 00:14:49especially when I'm filming there's not
- 00:14:52much time to wait for things it's almost
- 00:14:54like being back in the professional
- 00:14:56kitchens and having to serve up food as
- 00:14:58quickly as possible so having boiling
- 00:15:00water on tap and not having to wait for
- 00:15:02a kettle to boil is such a game Cher it
- 00:15:06is a privilege and it is is just
- 00:15:09unbelievable it also has an option for
- 00:15:11filtered water too so drinking drinkable
- 00:15:14filtered water takes out all the
- 00:15:16chemicals and that is amazing for me so
- 00:15:19having this is an absolute Joy thank you
- 00:15:22for Kettle um just whilst we're here I
- 00:15:25just want to shout out to my beautiful
- 00:15:27perso old coffee grinder another amazing
- 00:15:31find at the market and again this
- 00:15:34actually works I put my coffee beans in
- 00:15:36here and I grind it and I make a coffee
- 00:15:39so the old stuff is old but it's
- 00:15:43wellmade and uh look at that painting
- 00:15:46that's another old ancient painting that
- 00:15:48I found at the market for an affordable
- 00:15:51price we need to start going to markets
- 00:15:52way way more so into here this is a
- 00:15:57little walkway out to the Garden so out
- 00:15:59to my vegetable garden imagine me in a
- 00:16:01few months time when my Garden's
- 00:16:03thriving I'm coming in with my basket of
- 00:16:05goods and I can wash them and I can cook
- 00:16:07with them right away I also have a
- 00:16:09little fridge tucked behind here too
- 00:16:12because obviously this is a very
- 00:16:13traditional looking kitchen I wanted to
- 00:16:16have sort of very limited tech
- 00:16:19technology on show and I feel like
- 00:16:22fridges they're very spaces Shippy to me
- 00:16:24they look like a spaceship so I tucked
- 00:16:27it around the corner there um so that's
- 00:16:31that I think I must mention the walls
- 00:16:34cuz that's garnered a lot of interest on
- 00:16:37Instagram when I posted a video of the
- 00:16:39kitchen so as you can see by these walls
- 00:16:41they have so much depth and texture and
- 00:16:44again it goes along the lines of me not
- 00:16:46wanting this kitchen to feel like a
- 00:16:47brand new sparkling kitchen I wanted
- 00:16:51this to feel rustic and old and lived in
- 00:16:55and a lot to do with that is the actual
- 00:16:58wall this is a brand new wall but just
- 00:17:00been built but I asked my Builder if he
- 00:17:03could use some trai traditional plaster
- 00:17:06so we use lime and hemp plaster believe
- 00:17:09it or not and I told the plasterers to
- 00:17:12apply it to the walls as if I was doing
- 00:17:15it some someone that's never plastered
- 00:17:17in their life I wanted to be rough and
- 00:17:20you know have inconsistencies and Trel
- 00:17:23marks and texture texture is so
- 00:17:25important to me I love texture from
- 00:17:27linen bed sheets to my clothing I like
- 00:17:30real texture so they applied it they
- 00:17:33looked at me weirdly at first but it
- 00:17:35came out beautifully and then I used the
- 00:17:37most amazing lime wash paint from bow
- 00:17:40work my dad and I mainly my dad painted
- 00:17:43the Ws I did this wall and with this
- 00:17:45line wash paint it actually gives this
- 00:17:47an amazing you get different colors
- 00:17:49within the wall like shades of it it's
- 00:17:51beautiful actually just using special
- 00:17:54technique when you're painting it with a
- 00:17:56brush so I'm so happy with the color and
- 00:17:58the Sun has come out on it now this is a
- 00:18:00June it's called the the color is called
- 00:18:02June and I love the finish it really
- 00:18:05looks good it's very earthy and natural
- 00:18:07it reminds me of my time spent in Mexico
- 00:18:10we filmed a documentary there and they
- 00:18:12have the richest colors and textures in
- 00:18:15all of their buildings we're going to
- 00:18:17head down to my pantry stroke utility
- 00:18:20room now so this is a dream for me to
- 00:18:23have this extra space down the back um
- 00:18:26and again like I mentioned this is great
- 00:18:28for me for my work which is you know
- 00:18:31filming and having a prep
- 00:18:34area so having this extra space is
- 00:18:36beautiful we use the same paint but a
- 00:18:39different color more of a yellow color
- 00:18:41and as you can see again the this is
- 00:18:44fitted by Harrison and Pope the kitchen
- 00:18:46they handmade these units and this is
- 00:18:51you have to remember as well because I
- 00:18:53also do popup restaurants and events
- 00:18:57from time to time I have a load of
- 00:18:59equipment so when it comes to blenders
- 00:19:01for my work I have three blenders or you
- 00:19:04know this cupboard is full up with you
- 00:19:07know all my equipment here I have
- 00:19:09multiples of certain pieces of equipment
- 00:19:12so I need a load of space Sorry I'm
- 00:19:13growing my hair and it's getting in my
- 00:19:15eyes anyway again we went for this
- 00:19:17traditional look I haven't quite sort of
- 00:19:19filled the shelves yet again I've got
- 00:19:21the Old Clay boards there the window
- 00:19:24sill and this beautiful sink that I
- 00:19:27really wanted is this almost scalloped
- 00:19:29in the front beautiful sink here just
- 00:19:32for washing up whilst there's filming
- 00:19:34going on or washing my vegetables that I
- 00:19:36just picked I use this area to make
- 00:19:39coffee and I have a fridge in here too
- 00:19:42um what else do we talk about in here I
- 00:19:45love the lighting in here it's a little
- 00:19:47bit different it does get quite Moody
- 00:19:48cuz it's not that there's not that big
- 00:19:51of Windows and it's I'm under trees
- 00:19:53basically um outside but what I did in
- 00:19:57here recently was make gravioli and
- 00:19:59pastor and I haven't been able to sort
- 00:20:01of feel at home in the kitchen for so
- 00:20:03long to feel like I can be adventurous
- 00:20:06and make like pasta from scratch and
- 00:20:08being able to do that in here rote it
- 00:20:10out long on the surface was just amazing
- 00:20:12I felt such a joy and that's something I
- 00:20:16realized is that if you have a hobby or
- 00:20:18a passion you need to make sure that you
- 00:20:20have a a workpace or an environment that
- 00:20:23makes you feel comfortable and creative
- 00:20:25to to do that passion so whether you
- 00:20:28love to paint make sure that you take a
- 00:20:31little time to invest the the effort to
- 00:20:35set up a corner of your room or your I
- 00:20:38don't know in your house just to make
- 00:20:40sure that you you have that creative
- 00:20:42freedom to just feel like you can just
- 00:20:45paint and and get your mind out there
- 00:20:47and and be adventurous I think I think
- 00:20:50creativity is what life's about really
- 00:20:53and getting in touch with that side as I
- 00:20:55said there's still bits to do in here
- 00:20:57eventually as I mentioned there will be
- 00:20:59herbes and and ingredients drying
- 00:21:01everywhere I do have a dishwasher here
- 00:21:03actually which is very handy um and the
- 00:21:06reason I got it down the back here is
- 00:21:08because you know if I have to have a
- 00:21:09dish dishwash going um whilst I'm
- 00:21:13filming it's less noisy down the back
- 00:21:15and I have my washing machine so I wash
- 00:21:17my clothes what I've realized is that
- 00:21:20modern everyday pieces of equipment from
- 00:21:24your drying racks for clothes they're
- 00:21:26often not well built they're plastic you
- 00:21:28know plastic and you know they could
- 00:21:30break or they they just don't look the
- 00:21:32parts so I just invested in a nice
- 00:21:34wooden one that's going to last a long
- 00:21:36time and it also you know that's just a
- 00:21:38dry and rack for clothes but it looks
- 00:21:40nice in here so I just decided to get
- 00:21:45things like that even like my mop bucket
- 00:21:47this will actually make me want to mop
- 00:21:49my floors um because it just looks so
- 00:21:51nice and it works well with the
- 00:21:53kitchen so um I think that's gone of the
- 00:21:58days where I will buy just something out
- 00:22:01of necessity I will now always take time
- 00:22:05to consider how long I'm I'm going to
- 00:22:08how much use I'm actually going to get
- 00:22:09out of whatever it is I'm buying to make
- 00:22:11sure I'm buying a quality piece that
- 00:22:13looks good and also lasts a long time um
- 00:22:16because you know there's so many
- 00:22:18throwaway items these days things break
- 00:22:20on us but I try and get longer lasting
- 00:22:24um things um I did just mention the
- 00:22:26floor and a lot of people did mention it
- 00:22:28to me when I posted the video on
- 00:22:29Instagram what is this floor now this is
- 00:22:32literally just concrete or the screed
- 00:22:35that the builders put down and most
- 00:22:38people would just put their flooring on
- 00:22:41top whether they want carpet or laminate
- 00:22:43flooring or wood flooring straight on
- 00:22:45top of here but budgets are tight and to
- 00:22:48do this space that I needed to fill
- 00:22:51would have cost absolute Fortune so
- 00:22:53initially I did want real nice wood
- 00:22:56flooring but maybe later on one day in
- 00:22:59the future I eventually decide to to put
- 00:23:02wood down but for now I'm just happy
- 00:23:04with this look concrete look it works
- 00:23:07all right with the
- 00:23:08rugs all right so that's the utility
- 00:23:11room done this is where my big dinner
- 00:23:14table's going to go and I just put my my
- 00:23:17rings here to do a little stretch I'll
- 00:23:19probably have to get rid of these when I
- 00:23:20get a wife that tells me you can't have
- 00:23:22rings for doing pull-ups in the dining
- 00:23:25room until then my rings are staying all
- 00:23:28right right so anyway big dinner tables
- 00:23:31going here and I can't wait to just to
- 00:23:35get a nice big old antique dresser on
- 00:23:38this wall here but anyway back in the
- 00:23:40kitchen I'm going to answer a few
- 00:23:43questions that were sent over via
- 00:23:45Instagram now about the space I'm going
- 00:23:47to pick five of them so let's have a
- 00:23:49look what was sent
- 00:23:50in the first one actually just popped up
- 00:23:53what's going on with your hair I'm
- 00:23:54growing my hair that's why it keeps
- 00:23:56getting in my eyes so you have to bear
- 00:23:58with with me I'm I'm at that stage where
- 00:24:00it's starting to get annoying but
- 00:24:01fingers crossed soon I'll have luscious
- 00:24:03long locks that will be blowing in the
- 00:24:05wind in the
- 00:24:07garden anyway I have another question
- 00:24:09where did I get the nice brown shelves
- 00:24:12from which I didn't talk about earlier
- 00:24:15these shelves are actually really
- 00:24:19beautiful and they work so well in the
- 00:24:20kitchen they're from another flea market
- 00:24:23I found them not expensive and I always
- 00:24:26love the idea of having my ingredients
- 00:24:28in the jars they're visible as I said
- 00:24:31before get the get your ingredients from
- 00:24:34sort of refill shops or in bulk and
- 00:24:36you'll bu be buying less packaging and
- 00:24:39invest in some jars and everything looks
- 00:24:41great I think that's such a nice look
- 00:24:43for a kitchen it actually adds character
- 00:24:45but it's actually just what you need
- 00:24:47it's your ingredients so they have got
- 00:24:49to be in the kitchen somewhere to put
- 00:24:50them in some some nice jars I got my
- 00:24:52plates from Mexico that I brought back
- 00:24:54from Mexico here and my friend's Pottery
- 00:24:57brand called nom live in made in
- 00:24:59Cambodia there my amran that I grew last
- 00:25:02year dried out and it's just a beautiful
- 00:25:04display yeah that's where I got the
- 00:25:06shows from someone called Lauren says
- 00:25:09what's your inspiration or where did you
- 00:25:11get it from I think the inspiration has
- 00:25:14basically being a combination of cooking
- 00:25:17over the years traveling and collecting
- 00:25:21old stuff from markets basically and I
- 00:25:23just wanted a place to Showcase that and
- 00:25:26a an earthy natural space
- 00:25:28that my creativity can shine Jake says
- 00:25:32is there any part of the kitchen you
- 00:25:34wish you could change that's a good
- 00:25:35question now you know you always want to
- 00:25:39there's almost nothing can be perfect um
- 00:25:42but I'm so grateful for this space and
- 00:25:44it makes me so happy but there's a few
- 00:25:46things that I've learned along the way
- 00:25:47because I've never done anything like
- 00:25:49this before I've never done proper
- 00:25:51interior desiging and um you know
- 00:25:54building a space so probably the one
- 00:25:57thing that I would have done differently
- 00:25:58I wish I could have got proper beautiful
- 00:26:01sash windows which are old school
- 00:26:03windows but they're so expensive I kind
- 00:26:06of wish there's a bit more texture in
- 00:26:08the surfaces but real marble and natural
- 00:26:11like marble is so expensive so I gone
- 00:26:13for quartz which is really nice and it's
- 00:26:15Hardy and it's not going to stain but I
- 00:26:17just wish there was a bit more of a
- 00:26:18grain in it a bit more graphic almost um
- 00:26:22but that's it I'm I'm literally
- 00:26:24overjoyed and over the moon with it it's
- 00:26:27it's it's out of the this world I'm I I
- 00:26:29it doesn't feel real real I feel like
- 00:26:31I'm going to wake up from a dream
- 00:26:32sometime soon and this is not going to
- 00:26:34be my
- 00:26:35kitchen um I'm going to find one more
- 00:26:39question um we got will you be my
- 00:26:42husband uh when will you visit India I'd
- 00:26:44love to visit India uh someone says how
- 00:26:47much you'll have to ask the bank where I
- 00:26:50loan the money from um what hair
- 00:26:53products do I
- 00:26:54use I'm trying to make my own that'll be
- 00:26:57a video coming soon actually I'm working
- 00:26:58on a recipe for my own so I don't want
- 00:27:00any chemicals on my head um all right I
- 00:27:03think we'll leave it there cuz there's a
- 00:27:05lot of do you want a wife and random
- 00:27:08[Music]
- 00:27:10questions guys I just want to say a huge
- 00:27:13thank you for all your support over the
- 00:27:14years the people that were there at the
- 00:27:17very beginning Where I Stood behind a
- 00:27:19kitchen counter in an
- 00:27:20Airbnb um nervous as hell so anxious um
- 00:27:25to the people that have joined recently
- 00:27:27and everyone between thank you so much
- 00:27:30it means the world this feels a bit
- 00:27:33overwhelming for me now the fact that
- 00:27:35I've invested in this means now I have
- 00:27:36to make it worth my while and I have to
- 00:27:39produce a load of content and utilize it
- 00:27:42to the max so that I haven't just wasted
- 00:27:46time and money I'm not too worried about
- 00:27:48it because I know this space is going to
- 00:27:50bring the best out of me and um we'll
- 00:27:53you know I'm going to create some
- 00:27:54incredible stuff in this kitchen so I
- 00:27:58just want to say huge thank you to
- 00:27:59everyone that's helped build it from my
- 00:28:01Builder my dad for painting the walls
- 00:28:04and sanding down and you know doing
- 00:28:05little bits here and there and you know
- 00:28:08IL and Harrison and Pope and Kettle and
- 00:28:12everyone else and bow work if I
- 00:28:14forgotten anyone I'm so sorry I'll put
- 00:28:15them in the comments of this video I
- 00:28:18want to thank Tom for all his hard work
- 00:28:21filming outside with me in treacherous
- 00:28:24conditions in the cold for so long whil
- 00:28:27we didn't have a kitchen so Tom you're a
- 00:28:29legend you can move the
- 00:28:32camera um all right guys we're going to
