- 00:01:44bust of one hell yeah of the prime
- 00:01:46minister's greatest predecessors Winston
- 00:01:48Churchill is now back in the rightful
- 00:01:52place in the Oval Office and uh we're
- 00:01:54very proud of it our meeting
- 00:01:56today and the various uh Breakout
- 00:01:59sessions we had were tremendously
- 00:02:01productive most importantly I provided
- 00:02:03the prime minister with an update on our
- 00:02:06efforts to end the bloody and horrible
- 00:02:09war in Ukraine with Russia which would
- 00:02:14never have happened if I were president
- 00:02:15that was not going to happen I we have
- 00:02:17to make this Bingo after 3 years of
- 00:02:19fallacious conflict approximately 1
- 00:02:22million ukrainians and Russians have
- 00:02:24been senselessly killed but the number I
- 00:02:27believe is much higher than that count
- 00:02:30schools hospitals towns and beautiful
- 00:02:32ancient churches have been absolutely
- 00:02:35obliterated to begin the process of
- 00:02:37ending this spiral of death I had
- 00:02:41historic back-to-back calls with
- 00:02:43President Putin very successful calls I
- 00:02:46might add and president zinski and
- 00:02:49my team also spoke with the Secretary
- 00:02:53General of NATO on numerous occasions
- 00:02:55and we're working very hard to get that
- 00:02:57war brought to an end I think we've made
- 00:03:00a lot of progress I think it's moving
- 00:03:01along pretty rapidly that's good and uh
- 00:03:05I want to thank all of the people that
- 00:03:06are here that have been working on
- 00:03:09it and uh we'll let you know what's what
- 00:03:13happens it'll either be fairly soon or
- 00:03:16it won't be at all in addition this week
- 00:03:18I met with President macron of France as
- 00:03:21you know and held talks with members of
- 00:03:24the G7 tomorrow the progress toward
- 00:03:27peace will continue when President
- 00:03:29zalinsky visits the white house tomorrow
- 00:03:32here tomorrow in the early part signing
- 00:03:35a historic agreement that will make the
- 00:03:38United States a major partner in
- 00:03:39developing Ukraine's minerals and rare
- 00:03:42Earths and uh all right oil and gases
- 00:03:46and we have uh great understanding I
- 00:03:49think it's going to be great for Ukraine
- 00:03:50we're going to be at the site and we'll
- 00:03:54be uh we'll be digging we'll be dig dig
- 00:03:57digging dig we must a big utility in New
- 00:04:00York con us and they used to have a sign
- 00:04:02dig we must and we will be digging but
- 00:04:05much of the European Aid to Ukraine has
- 00:04:08been sent in the form of loans for which
- 00:04:10they uh expect to be paid back and we
- 00:04:13didn't have that honor under the Biden
- 00:04:15Administration he sent money or just
- 00:04:17send it money after money after money an
- 00:04:20idiot bro this Biden guy sounds like a
- 00:04:22real dumbass knowledge of ever seeing it
- 00:04:25back maybe 300 to
- 00:04:27350 billion dollars but under the
- 00:04:31Breakthrough agreement very unusual
- 00:04:33which everyone said was difficult to get
- 00:04:36but it's really very good for Ukraine
- 00:04:38and very good for us the American
- 00:04:41taxpayers will now effectively be
- 00:04:43reimbursed for the money and hundreds of
- 00:04:45billions of dollars poured into helping
- 00:04:49uh Ukraine defend itself which by and of
- 00:04:51itself is a very worthy thing to do
- 00:04:53we've paid far more than any other
- 00:04:56country and with most of our support
- 00:04:59it's been paid in military the finest
- 00:05:02weapons anywhere in the world this
- 00:05:04includes vast amounts of military
- 00:05:06hardware
- 00:05:07ammunition and various other things that
- 00:05:10we now have to start rebuilding our own
- 00:05:13stockpiles to be fear any other country
- 00:05:15might be accur the EU is not will
- 00:05:17provide the basis for a more sustainable
- 00:05:19future relationship between the United
- 00:05:21States and Ukraine and th stimulate the
- 00:05:24long-term Prosperity that will help the
- 00:05:27ukrainians rebuild their
- 00:05:29country it's been
- 00:05:32demolished and uh the ruined
- 00:05:34infrastructure the infrastructure as you
- 00:05:36know is in very bad shape in just over
- 00:05:40one month our Administration has already
- 00:05:42achieved more progress toward peace than
- 00:05:44is EU not the other Administration where
- 00:05:47they did nothing toward peace I
- 00:05:49think understand what was happening our
- 00:05:53approach is basically common sense as I
- 00:05:55said so many of the things that we do
- 00:05:57based on common sense if you want peace
- 00:06:00you have to talk both
- 00:06:03sides as I discussed with prime minister
- 00:06:07starmer The Next Step we're making is
- 00:06:10toward a very achievable ceasefire we
- 00:06:13hope that that can H happen quickly
- 00:06:15because uh thousands of young people in
- 00:06:19this case we're not talking about
- 00:06:21Americans we're talking about ukrainians
- 00:06:23and Russians are being killed every week
- 00:06:26thousands and it's a rough Battlefield
- 00:06:28it's a flat piece of land and the bullet
- 00:06:30only stops when it hits
- 00:06:32somebody and this week I saw the reports
- 00:06:36and it's it's uh I don't even want to
- 00:06:38say what what they are but thousands of
- 00:06:41people young people young vibrant people
- 00:06:43died that's bad and we want to stop that
- 00:06:46senseless should have never happened
- 00:06:49this will lay the groundwork for a
- 00:06:50long-term peace agreement that will
- 00:06:52return stability to Eastern Europe and
- 00:06:55hopefully ensure that such a terrible
- 00:06:57war will never happen on European in
- 00:06:59soil or for that matter anywhere
- 00:07:02again it's uh it's a horrible thing
- 00:07:06that's going on the disaster in Ukraine
- 00:07:09shows exactly why it's so important for
- 00:07:11the United Kingdom and other NATO
- 00:07:14Partners to make large investments in
- 00:07:16their defense capabilities in many cases
- 00:07:194% or 5% of GDP would be
- 00:07:22appropriate I know that they're raising
- 00:07:24it I just read a an article a great
- 00:07:27article about the work you're doing in
- 00:07:29the the UK as to the military you're
- 00:07:31raising it quite a bit which is a great
- 00:07:33thing to do for your country it's a
- 00:07:34great thing to do it's sad that we need
- 00:07:36that but probably need that so
- 00:07:39congratulations on that I know you got
- 00:07:40it through after years of chronic
- 00:07:43underfunding there's an urgent need to
- 00:07:46catch up for some countries and I want
- 00:07:48to thank the Prime Minister once again
- 00:07:50for traveling here today working
- 00:07:53together I believe that we'll once again
- 00:07:57demonstrate the power of our countries
- 00:07:59unique friendship this is indeed a
- 00:08:01unique friendship it's been many
- 00:08:04years and I think it's only gotten
- 00:08:06stronger and we will make sure that it
- 00:08:09stays that way we're going to have a
- 00:08:12great Trade Agreement one way or the
- 00:08:14other we're going to end up with a very
- 00:08:15good trade agreement for both countries
- 00:08:18and we're working on that as we speak I
- 00:08:20think we'll have the uh confines I think
- 00:08:23we'll have uh something maybe even in
- 00:08:26terms of uh
- 00:08:27possibilities uh agree to very shortly
- 00:08:30JD's working on a vice president and uh
- 00:08:33Scott and uh I'm just looking at this
- 00:08:35all from Mike you're going to work on it
- 00:08:37everyone's kind of work on it we'll see
- 00:08:38if we can do something pretty quickly
- 00:08:40but we're going to make some great trade
- 00:08:42agreements with the UK and with the
- 00:08:43Prime Minister and uh it'll happen very
- 00:08:46quickly so I just want to thank you
- 00:08:48again and please thank King Charles for
- 00:08:50the invite and we don't like this guy in
- 00:08:52theuk giving our acceptance on behalf of
- 00:08:55the United States of America thank you
- 00:08:56very much sir I heard he sucks
- 00:09:03thank you well thank you very much Mr
- 00:09:06President thank you for your hospitality
- 00:09:08thank you for your leadership this has
- 00:09:10been a very good and very productive
- 00:09:12visit um and with your family roots in
- 00:09:15Scotland and your close bond with his
- 00:09:18majesty the king it's good to know that
- 00:09:21the United Kingdom has a trueu
- 00:09:23friend office and it was so good to see
- 00:09:25the bust of Winston Churchill back in
- 00:09:27its rightful uh place just moment ago
- 00:09:30but look in a moment of real danger
- 00:09:32around the world the relationship this
- 00:09:35relationship matters more than ever we
- 00:09:38remain each other's first partner in
- 00:09:41defense ready to come to the other's Aid
- 00:09:44to counter threats wherever and whenever
- 00:09:47they may arise no two militaries are
- 00:09:51more intertwined than ours no two
- 00:09:53countries have done more together to
- 00:09:55keep people safe and in a few weeks uh
- 00:09:58we mark VE Day the 80th anniversary of
- 00:10:02Victory in Europe oh yeah yeah Britain
- 00:10:04and America fought side by side to make
- 00:10:06that happen one of the greatest moments
- 00:10:09in our history war war I we stand side
- 00:10:12by side still today and with focused now
- 00:10:16on bringing an enduring end to the
- 00:10:19barbaric war in
- 00:10:20Ukraine Mr President I welcome your deep
- 00:10:23and personal commitment to bring peace
- 00:10:26and to Stop The Killing you've created a
- 00:10:29moment of tremendous opportunity this
- 00:10:32historic peace deal a deal that I think
- 00:10:35would be celebrated in Ukraine and
- 00:10:37around the world that is the prize Jesus
- 00:10:41but we have to get it right there's a
- 00:10:44famous slogan in the United Kingdom from
- 00:10:46after the second world war wow that is
- 00:10:49that we have to win the peace yeah and
- 00:10:52that's what we must do
- 00:10:54now because it can't be peace that
- 00:10:56rewards the aggressor or that gives
- 00:10:59encouragement to regimes like
- 00:11:01Iran we agree history must be on the
- 00:11:04Side Of The Peacemaker not the
- 00:11:07Invader so the stakes they couldn't be
- 00:11:10higher and we're determined to work
- 00:11:12together to deliver a good deal we'
- 00:11:15discussed a plan today to reach a peace
- 00:11:18that is tough and fair that Ukraine will
- 00:11:21help shape that's backed by strength to
- 00:11:24stop Putin coming back for more I'm
- 00:11:27working closely with other European
- 00:11:29leaders on this and I'm clear that the
- 00:11:31UK is ready to put boots on the ground
- 00:11:34and planes in the air to support a deal
- 00:11:37working together with our allies because
- 00:11:39that is the only way that peace will
- 00:11:43last Mr President in this new era you're
- 00:11:47also right that Europe must step up and
- 00:11:50let me tell you now I see the growing
- 00:11:53threats we face and so the UK is all in
- 00:11:57this year we'll be giving more military
- 00:11:59aid to Ukraine than ever and just this
- 00:12:02week I've set out how we're shouldering
- 00:12:04more of the security burden W we're
- 00:12:07already one of the biggest Spenders in
- 00:12:08NATO and now we're going much further
- 00:12:12delivering Britain's biggest sustained
- 00:12:13increase in defense spending since the
- 00:12:16Cold War this isn't just talk it's
- 00:12:19action that's this balancing the
- 00:12:21transatlantic Alliance making us all
- 00:12:24stronger and standing up for our shared
- 00:12:27values and shared security
- 00:12:30as Britain always
- 00:12:32has and Mr President it's no secret
- 00:12:34we're from different political
- 00:12:37Traditions but there's a lot that we
- 00:12:39have in common and we believe it's not
- 00:12:42taking part that counts what counts is
- 00:12:46winning if you don't win yeah you don't
- 00:12:49deliver true and we're determined to
- 00:12:51deliver for working people of Britain
- 00:12:54and America who want and deserve to see
- 00:12:57their lives improveed
- 00:13:00so we're both in a hurry to get things
- 00:13:01done and that's what the UK and us do
- 00:13:06when we work together we win and we get
- 00:13:09things done so we'll do what it takes to
- 00:13:12keep our people safe yeah we'll also
- 00:13:15work together to deliver some big
- 00:13:17economic winds that can benefit us both
- 00:13:20we have a $1.5 trillion invested in each
- 00:13:23other's economies creating over 2.5
- 00:13:26million jobs across both EC he's lying
- 00:13:29you guys is ly our trading relationship
- 00:13:30is not just strong it's fair balanced
- 00:13:34and reciprocal we're leaders together in
- 00:13:37so many areas ranked one and two in the
- 00:13:40world as investment destinations one and
- 00:13:43two for
- 00:13:44universities one and two for Nobel
- 00:13:47prizes one and two in Gulf as well by
- 00:13:51the way uh and we're the only two
- 00:13:54Western countries with trillion doll
- 00:13:55Tech sectors leaders in AI wow and look
- 00:13:59we take a similar approach on this issue
- 00:14:02instead of
- 00:14:17overregulation together shaped the great
- 00:14:20technological innovations of the last
- 00:14:22century we have a chance now to do the
- 00:14:25same for the 21st century okay I mean
- 00:14:29artificial intelligence could cure
- 00:14:31cancer that could be a moonshot for our
- 00:14:35age um and that's how we'll keep
- 00:14:37delivering for our people does that mean
- 00:14:39many opportunities keep our Nations
- 00:14:42strong and fulfill the promise of great
- 00:14:44that do always defined this
- 00:14:47relationship finally to undermine to
- 00:14:50underline the importance of is bad okay
- 00:14:54it was my privilege and honor to bring a
- 00:14:57letter with me today
- 00:14:59from his majesty the
- 00:15:01king not only sending his best wishes
- 00:15:05but also inviting the president and the
- 00:15:07first lady to make a state visit to the
- 00:15:09United Kingdom an
- 00:15:12unprecedented second state visit this
- 00:15:14has never happened uh before it's so
- 00:15:17incredible it will be historic and I'm
- 00:15:20delighted that I can go back to his
- 00:15:22majesty the king and tell him that
- 00:15:23President Trump has accepted the
- 00:15:25invitation so thank you our teams will
- 00:15:28now work together to set a date uh and
- 00:15:30we look forward to welcome you in the
- 00:15:32United Kingdom thank you once again
- 00:15:34thank you very much what a beautiful
- 00:15:37accent I would have been president 20
- 00:15:39years ago if I had that
- 00:15:43[Applause]
- 00:15:45accent questions okay let's see here oh
- 00:15:50God go ahead
- 00:15:51please than president earlier today uh
- 00:15:55you told me that you believe that
- 00:15:58foreign countri
- 00:15:59pay tariffs but Americans who are
- 00:16:01concerned about higher prices believe as
- 00:16:05most people do that they're paid by
- 00:16:08consumers and importers when they import
- 00:16:10things into this country can you explain
- 00:16:14how you came to this belief that foreign
- 00:16:16governments are paying tariffs and uh
- 00:16:19for the Prime Minister did you discuss
- 00:16:21with President Trump his repeated uh
- 00:16:25statements of Desire same Canada well
- 00:16:28he's bald
- 00:16:29has the king expressed any uh concern
- 00:16:33over the president's apparent desire to
- 00:16:37remove one of his Realms uh from his
- 00:16:40control Realms so I'll go ahead the
- 00:16:43first part the tariffs are necessary
- 00:16:46because we've been treated very unfairly
- 00:16:47by many many countries including our
- 00:16:49friends friend and foe but we've been
- 00:16:52treated very unfairly uh in trade uh at
- 00:16:56levels that nobody's really ever seen
- 00:16:58before and especially under the Biden
- 00:16:59Administration they really took
- 00:17:01advantage of the United States uh I put
- 00:17:05massive tariffs on China during my four
- 00:17:07years we had the best economy in the
- 00:17:09history of our country one probably the
- 00:17:11best economy maybe the best economy in
- 00:17:13the history of the world and I had I
- 00:17:16used tariffs to even things up and in
- 00:17:20particular with China we took in
- 00:17:21hundreds of billions of dollars and we
- 00:17:23had no inflation and it's a myth it's a
- 00:17:27myth that's put out there by countries
- 00:17:29that really don't like paying tariffs
- 00:17:33and especially to even up so we've been
- 00:17:35treated badly by a lot we're using
- 00:17:37tariffs and I find and uh you just have
- 00:17:40to look at the numbers but I find that
- 00:17:42it's not about inflation it's about
- 00:17:44fairness and the inflation uh for us has
- 00:17:47not existed and I don't think it's going
- 00:17:49to exist we're going to bring our car
- 00:17:51industry back we're going to bring our
- 00:17:52chips back we're going to bring uh so
- 00:17:54many things back to our country
- 00:17:56including Pharmaceuticals and drugs uh
- 00:17:59and the thing that's going to get us
- 00:18:01there is tariffs and I say often it's my
- 00:18:04favorite word in the dictionary but I
- 00:18:06always preface that by saying now
- 00:18:08because I got into a lot of trouble with
- 00:18:10the fake news where they say uh that's
- 00:18:12not good so I say God love family wife
- 00:18:16they're all my favorite words but tariff
- 00:18:18is about number four or five on the list
- 00:18:20no but I will tell you uh it's going to
- 00:18:23make our country rich and it's going to
- 00:18:26stop us from being a laughing stock all
- 00:18:28over the world
- 00:18:29because we have been taken advantage of
- 00:18:31like no country has ever been taken
- 00:18:33advantage of thank you very much and
- 00:18:36look we had a really good uh discussion
- 00:18:38a productive discussion a good
- 00:18:39discussion as a result of which our
- 00:18:41teams are now going to be working
- 00:18:43together on an economic deal our team is
- 00:18:45going to be working together on security
- 00:18:47in Ukraine um you mentioned Canada I
- 00:18:50think you're trying to find a divide
- 00:18:52between us that doesn't um exist we're
- 00:18:54the closest of Nations and we had very
- 00:18:56good discussions today we didn't Canada
- 00:19:00thank you that's enough please go ahead
- 00:19:04go ahead yes thank you oh
- 00:19:07God hi Natasha Clark from LBC Mr
- 00:19:10President you've said you're working on
- 00:19:11a new trade deal with Britain which we
- 00:19:13of course welcome President Obama once
- 00:19:15said Britain was at the back of the
- 00:19:16queue for that trade deal where are we
- 00:19:18now when do you think we'll we're going
- 00:19:19to see that and prime minister the BBC
- 00:19:22has today admitted serious flaws over
- 00:19:23the recent Gaza coverage suggestions of
- 00:19:25payments made to people linked to Hamas
- 00:19:28does the BBC BBC still have your trust
- 00:19:30thank you that's well they didn't do
- 00:19:32well with President Obama he' never got
- 00:19:34is that true a lot of things done and he
- 00:19:37didn't get a trade deal done that was of
- 00:19:39any importance or magnitude we have uh
- 00:19:42we've had great discussions on trade and
- 00:19:44I think we're going to have a deal done
- 00:19:45rather quickly as quickly as it can be
- 00:19:47done we we're going to have something I
- 00:19:49think rather quickly we expect to do
- 00:19:51that okay please uh on the BBC um look
- 00:19:55I've been concerned about um the program
- 00:19:57in question secretary of state had a
- 00:19:59meeting with the BBC I think it was
- 00:20:01yesterday it could have been the day
- 00:20:02before thank
- 00:20:04you Jeff go
- 00:20:08ahead thank you sir pardon me Mr
- 00:20:11President do you support Article Five of
- 00:20:13the NATO treaty and are you concerned
- 00:20:15that it might be triggered if European
- 00:20:17peacekeeping forces end up in Ukraine I
- 00:20:19support it uh I don't think we have any
- 00:20:22reason for it I think we're going to
- 00:20:23have a very successful piece and I think
- 00:20:27it's going to be a long lasting piece
- 00:20:29and uh I think it's going to happen
- 00:20:31hopefully quickly it if it doesn't
- 00:20:33happen quickly it may not happen at all
- 00:20:36and we want it for two reasons number
- 00:20:38one I want to see on a Humane basis I
- 00:20:41want to see soldiers stop getting shot
- 00:20:45because largely it's soldiers now towns
- 00:20:46have been obliterated but it's largely
- 00:20:49that and I don't want to pay billions
- 00:20:51and billions and billions of dollars nor
- 00:20:54does the prime minister or anybody else
- 00:20:56on a senseless war that should have
- 00:20:58never happened and we're going to get it
- 00:21:00taken care but I think it's going to be
- 00:21:01a piece that's going to be long lasting
- 00:21:03do you have a question for the Prime
- 00:21:05Minister he trying to get him a call on
- 00:21:08him thank you Mr Prime Minister you were
- 00:21:09asking the president today about a back
- 00:21:11stop for Europe if the peacekeeping
- 00:21:14force ends up in Ukraine did you feel
- 00:21:16like you got a satisfying answer for
- 00:21:19yourself and for Europe and Mr President
- 00:21:21if you want to comment on that as well
- 00:21:22please do I thought we had a very
- 00:21:24productive um discussion obviously as uh
- 00:21:28the president President says the deal
- 00:21:29has to come first um but yes um our
- 00:21:32teams are going to be talking about um
- 00:21:35how we make sure that uh deal sticks is
- 00:21:39lasting um and enforced so our teams
- 00:21:42will be talking about
- 00:21:43that okay please
- 00:21:47blue Mr President um some experts think
- 00:21:50it could take more than a decade to mind
- 00:21:52the Precious Minerals from Ukraine how
- 00:21:55much should the US expect to receive and
- 00:21:57when do you expect to see that come to
- 00:22:00when do we get the we going to know that
- 00:22:01answer but by our being in Ukraine and
- 00:22:05doing the exploration and also the
- 00:22:08digging and taking uh the rare earth
- 00:22:10which we need in our country very badly
- 00:22:13uh we'll be doing a substantial amount
- 00:22:16of work
- 00:22:18probably about at least what we have in
- 00:22:21there and we hope to be able to do that
- 00:22:24uh you never know when it comes to that
- 00:22:25you know you dig and maybe things aren't
- 00:22:27there like you think they're there but
- 00:22:29we'll be spending a lot of time there
- 00:22:30it'll be great for Ukraine it's it's
- 00:22:32like a huge economic development project
- 00:22:34so it'll be good for both countries
- 00:22:37okay um
- 00:22:41please uh prime minister excuse me uh
- 00:22:45prime minister um you've talked about
- 00:22:48putting British soldiers boots on the
- 00:22:50ground in Ukraine in the event that
- 00:22:53President Trump succeeds with his peace
- 00:22:55deal but can you do that without
- 00:22:59a firm assurance that America will have
- 00:23:01our back in the form of some kind of
- 00:23:03security
- 00:23:04guarantee were Putin to breach that
- 00:23:07agreement and Mr President um tomorrow
- 00:23:11you're seeing president zalinski to sign
- 00:23:14this uh deal on minerals and energy that
- 00:23:17could be hugely important to the United
- 00:23:21States will you take the opportunity to
- 00:23:24apologize to him for calling him a
- 00:23:27dictator while appraising Vladimir Putin
- 00:23:30who is a
- 00:23:31dictator well Robert let me start by
- 00:23:33saying uh I've been really clear uh
- 00:23:36today and previously that uh I think
- 00:23:39that European countries including the
- 00:23:41United kingom need to step up in our own
- 00:23:43defense and security we've been doing
- 00:23:45that in recent days you saw the
- 00:23:47announcement we made on spending just
- 00:23:50the other day um in addition to that
- 00:23:52I've made it clear that the United
- 00:23:54Kingdom will play its full part in
- 00:23:56ensuring that um if there's a deal and
- 00:23:58that we hope there is a deal in Ukraine
- 00:24:01that that is a lasting deal um that
- 00:24:03sticks and we're obviously working with
- 00:24:06other European countries on that France
- 00:24:08and NATO um in particular but we I've
- 00:24:11got I think I'm hosting 18 countries on
- 00:24:13Sunday to further our uh discussions you
- 00:24:16heard from the president this morning uh
- 00:24:18that you know as as historically has
- 00:24:21always been the case we have each
- 00:24:22other's backs and today we've been
- 00:24:24talking um about um uh the de
- 00:24:29um how that will be a lasting deal um
- 00:24:32and coming out of this our teams will
- 00:24:34now be uh talking uh in detail about
- 00:24:36that and I think we're going to have a
- 00:24:38very good meeting tomorrow 11 o' and I
- 00:24:41think we're going to have a very good
- 00:24:42meeting tomorrow morning we're going to
- 00:24:44get along really well okay we have a lot
- 00:24:46of respect I have a lot of respect for
- 00:24:48him uh we've given him a lot of
- 00:24:51equipment and a lot of money but they
- 00:24:53have fought very bravely no matter how
- 00:24:55you figure just not even going to answer
- 00:24:56the question somebody has to use that
- 00:24:58equipment and they have been very bril
- 00:25:00in that sense not even going to listen
- 00:25:01uh yeah please go
- 00:25:07ahead is nearing an end this Saturday uh
- 00:25:10and there's been some worry that phase
- 00:25:11two might never get there do you believe
- 00:25:13that phase two of the ceasefire in Gaza
- 00:25:16will come to fruition and have you
- 00:25:17spoken to Netanyahu about it and for the
- 00:25:20Prime Minister um this peacekeeping deal
- 00:25:22has been pushed forward by the UK and
- 00:25:24France as well have you uh been in
- 00:25:26discussions with any other European
- 00:25:28countries to join this this initiative
- 00:25:30and are you expecting commonwealth
- 00:25:31countries to also join the effort thank
- 00:25:33you so we're working very hard in the
- 00:25:35Middle East and Gaza and all of the
- 00:25:37problems and it's been going on for
- 00:25:39years and years and centuries and
- 00:25:42centuries it's a it's a tough
- 00:25:44neighborhood but it could be a very
- 00:25:46beautiful neighborhood and I think we're
- 00:25:47going to come up with some pretty good
- 00:25:49Solutions but
- 00:25:52uh phase one is almost
- 00:25:54complete uh we've had some people that
- 00:25:57have been very seriously injured very
- 00:25:59seriously hurt both physically and
- 00:26:02mentally they've come out of there very
- 00:26:04very uh some of them in very very bad
- 00:26:07shape uh is shocking many young people
- 00:26:11young people aren't in bad shape young
- 00:26:13people are strong healthy they don't die
- 00:26:16people have come out dead young people
- 00:26:18and old people uh it's a rough situation
- 00:26:22but I think we're going to make it much
- 00:26:24better and I think that we've had a huge
- 00:26:26impact on that since we've been in just
- 00:26:27the four weeks I think we've had a huge
- 00:26:30impact on Gaza the Middle East and we
- 00:26:31have some pretty good uh talks going on
- 00:26:35concerning lots of other people that are
- 00:26:36going to make it better so uh we'll see
- 00:26:38what happens nobody really knows but
- 00:26:40we'll see what happens but I think we've
- 00:26:42had a very positive impact Prim yeah on
- 00:26:45the question of um the uh European
- 00:26:48countries yes I've spoken to a number of
- 00:26:51countries um particularly in the last
- 00:26:53few weeks we had a meeting in Paris uh
- 00:26:55last week um I've got a meeting on
- 00:26:57Sunday with 18 countries um to further
- 00:27:00our discussions um obviously um we've
- 00:27:03been talking quite intensely uh to our
- 00:27:06French colleagues um and to Nato but to
- 00:27:09other countries as well um because uh as
- 00:27:13I say I think it's important uh for
- 00:27:15European countries including the United
- 00:27:17Kingdom um to step up and do more in the
- 00:27:21defense and security of Europe and our
- 00:27:25continent in the United Kingdom and we
- 00:27:26will do so well we're to a number of
- 00:27:28other countries the French already
- 00:27:31surrendered wait did they pink red
- 00:27:34flaming red is it me or go ahead okay
- 00:27:37thank you Mr President um question on
- 00:27:39Ukraine number one is um if you're not
- 00:27:42considering the security guarantees are
- 00:27:45you open to other forms of for example
- 00:27:48intelligence um cooperation with Ukraine
- 00:27:51and Mr Prime Minister President Trump
- 00:27:53has proposed a plan for Gaza does this
- 00:27:57fit into the two St solution that the UK
- 00:27:59I think he was calling on the one behind
- 00:28:01for a long time do you see it fit into
- 00:28:03your general Middle Eastern strategy
- 00:28:05thank you so much yeah thank you very
- 00:28:07much we're open to many things but
- 00:28:09before I even think about that that's
- 00:28:11almost Pleasant to think about because
- 00:28:13that would mean that peace has been
- 00:28:15arrived at uh we have to arrive at that
- 00:28:17peace and uh you know you went three and
- 00:28:21a half years with an Administration that
- 00:28:23never even really had a meeting they
- 00:28:25didn't have a meeting on
- 00:28:26peace and there was no Prospect of peace
- 00:28:29I think frankly Russia wanted to go
- 00:28:32through the whole long deal I don't
- 00:28:35think they do anymore I don't think they
- 00:28:36do we had a very big impact on that
- 00:28:39whole situation we solved it but uh I
- 00:28:43don't like talking about phase two until
- 00:28:45I get phase one phase one is I have to
- 00:28:47make peace and we have to get Russia to
- 00:28:50we have to get Ukraine to agree and I
- 00:28:52think we will uh I think we've come a
- 00:28:55long way I believe we're going to get it
- 00:28:57done I wouldn't say that if I didn't
- 00:28:59think so and I think it will be uh very
- 00:29:03important very historic and we're going
- 00:29:05to save a lot of a lot of lives
- 00:29:08naturally um on the question of Gaza the
- 00:29:11last few weeks um of the ceasefire um
- 00:29:14have been very impactful and for me
- 00:29:17there are two images that I remember
- 00:29:19more than any other uh the first is
- 00:29:21Emily deari um who is British being
- 00:29:24reunited with her mother you may
- 00:29:27remember she had
- 00:29:28her fingers uh missing after what she Ed
- 00:29:33that was an incredible moment I had
- 00:29:34spent a lot of time with her mother uh
- 00:29:36while she was held captive and uh her
- 00:29:39mother went through absolute torture the
- 00:29:42other image was thousands of
- 00:29:43Palestinians marching through Rubble
- 00:29:45trying to return to their communities
- 00:29:47and their homes um so we have to do
- 00:29:51everything we can to ensure that the
- 00:29:52ceasefire continues so that more
- 00:29:54hostages can be returned so that Aid can
- 00:29:57be brought in that's desperately needed
- 00:30:01um and um we we need to allow
- 00:30:03Palestinians to return and to rebuild
- 00:30:05their lives and we must all support them
- 00:30:07in doing that and yes I believe that the
- 00:30:10two-state solution is ultimately the
- 00:30:12only way for a lasting um Peace um in
- 00:30:16the region and think of that she came
- 00:30:19home with her fingers and part of her
- 00:30:22hand blown off that's terrible uh yeah
- 00:30:25how bad does he get and we had others
- 00:30:27that
- 00:30:28in much much worse shape than that it's
- 00:30:31a terrible situation uh please yes that
- 00:30:35is pretty
- 00:30:38bad thank you uh Mr President did our
- 00:30:41prime minister persuade you not to put
- 00:30:43tariffs on the UK and if I a prime
- 00:30:46minister do you think that Vladimir
- 00:30:48Putin is a man who will keep his word
- 00:30:52thanks he
- 00:30:55tried he was working hard out tell you
- 00:30:58that he he earned whatever the hell they
- 00:31:00pay him over there but uh he tried uh we
- 00:31:05I think there a very good chance that in
- 00:31:06the case of these two great friendly
- 00:31:09countries I think we we could very well
- 00:31:11end up with a real trade deal where the
- 00:31:14tariffs wouldn't be necessary oh jeez uh
- 00:31:17we'll see but he he's uh he earned
- 00:31:20whatever they whatever they pay him
- 00:31:22heing today he was working hard at lunch
- 00:31:25and and I'm very receptive to it I think
- 00:31:27we in all fairness in all seriousness I
- 00:31:30think we have a very good chance at
- 00:31:31arriving at a very good deal JD and and
- 00:31:33Scott and uh Howard all the people are
- 00:31:37working on it and I think we have a good
- 00:31:38chance at arriving at a deal that could
- 00:31:40be uh terrific really terrific for both
- 00:31:44countries okay thank you uh on the
- 00:31:46second part of the question um I think
- 00:31:48my views on Putin are pretty well
- 00:31:50rehearsed and pretty well known um and
- 00:31:54my concern is that if there's a deal and
- 00:31:56I hope there is a deal that it must be a
- 00:31:58lasting deal uh that it's not a
- 00:32:00temporary uh measure and that is um why
- 00:32:03I think it's really important that um uh
- 00:32:06Putin knows that um this deal a historic
- 00:32:09deal which I very much hope comes about
- 00:32:12is there um is there and it's a lasting
