00:00:00
right now we are in a situation where
00:00:01
the entire world is saying no to having
00:00:05
kids at first glance I thought it was
00:00:08
just a problem with the us but this is
00:00:09
actually something that's happening
00:00:11
worldwide and I want to get into some of
00:00:14
the reasons why this is happening
00:00:16
because obviously this is going to have
00:00:18
some long-term implications on the
00:00:20
future health of our economy and how
00:00:23
life will be for human beings you know
00:00:26
in a 100 or 200 years from now so here's
00:00:28
the deal the US for ility rate just hit
00:00:31
an all-time low of 1.62 births per woman
00:00:36
which is the lowest that we've seen
00:00:38
since the 1930s back in the 1950s the
00:00:42
number was about
00:00:43
3.7 and in order for us to maintain a
00:00:46
stable population we need to have at
00:00:49
least 2.1 births per woman and like I
00:00:52
said this is a problem everywhere
00:00:54
especially in the more developed
00:00:56
countries this is happening in Japan
00:00:58
Japan has a much worse population crisis
00:01:00
than we have here where you have about
00:01:02
30% of the adults they age 65 or older
00:01:06
this is happening in Italy in Germany
00:01:08
South Korea is in big trouble they have
00:01:09
a fertility rate of
00:01:11
0.72 Which is less than half of what's
00:01:14
needed to stabilize the population into
00:01:17
the future and before you think I'm
00:01:18
going to get all Elon Musk on you and
00:01:20
tell everybody that you should be having
00:01:22
kids I'm not going to be doing that
00:01:23
because people have the right to choose
00:01:26
what they want to do in their own life
00:01:28
nobody should be telling you what you
00:01:30
should and shouldn't be doing with it
00:01:31
and if we have fewer people in the world
00:01:33
in the future and it collapses our
00:01:34
economy as we know it so be it because
00:01:37
the world went on just fine before there
00:01:39
was all these people here it'll go on
00:01:40
just fine without so many in the future
00:01:43
so many people get worried about the
00:01:44
financial aspect of this you know who's
00:01:46
going to pay for everything and who's
00:01:47
going to deal with all this debt and all
00:01:49
of that well maybe there' be just such
00:01:51
few people that just say you know what
00:01:53
let's cancel all the debt but I want to
00:01:55
dive into some of the reasons that
00:01:57
people are deciding not to have kids cuz
00:01:59
I find this very fascinating especially
00:02:01
as also somebody who doesn't have any
00:02:03
kids because in a recent us study they
00:02:06
asked people ages 18 to 49 why they
00:02:10
didn't want kids okay and
00:02:12
56% said they just didn't want them
00:02:15
other reasons they cited were things
00:02:17
like Financial concerns lack of a
00:02:19
partner or even things like climate
00:02:22
change and a lot of this can be very
00:02:23
valid you know especially with how
00:02:25
expensive it is to live today you know
00:02:28
most people have a hard time just taking
00:02:30
care of themselves or a couple having a
00:02:32
hard time living on their own paying all
00:02:35
the bills affording everything you know
00:02:38
bringing more mouses to feed into the
00:02:40
picture and constraining your time and
00:02:42
energy and resources even further
00:02:44
doesn't sound like a very appealing
00:02:46
Prospect for a lot of people when it
00:02:48
comes to financials you're going to have
00:02:49
the high cost of raising children that
00:02:51
includes things like education Child
00:02:54
Care Health Care some people cite lack
00:02:56
of a partner right but also even if you
00:02:59
have a partner you need to have
00:03:00
stability with that partner you know
00:03:02
some people might hesitate to have a
00:03:04
child with somebody if they're unsure
00:03:06
about the stability of their current
00:03:08
relationship or sometimes you're just
00:03:10
not with the right person that seem like
00:03:12
a good person to have kids with there's
00:03:14
also things that people value like their
00:03:16
personal freedom you know some people
00:03:19
love to have their independence they
00:03:20
want to have the freedom to travel they
00:03:22
want to pursue Hobbies you know and make
00:03:25
spontaneous life choices without
00:03:28
commitments that come with parenting and
00:03:30
this is becoming an increasingly popular
00:03:33
lifestyle that people are choosing to
00:03:34
live but interestingly enough 15% of
00:03:38
people mention that it's difficult to
00:03:40
find a partner and it's supposed to be
00:03:43
easier than ever with all of the dating
00:03:45
naps out there that you're supposed to
00:03:46
be able to just turn this thing on and
00:03:48
you have a date tomorrow night without
00:03:50
putting in any effort but from what I've
00:03:52
heard and I've never used one of these
00:03:53
dating apps before ever but from what
00:03:55
I've heard from a lot of people and
00:03:58
things I've seen here on YouTube even
00:04:00
though it might be easier than ever to
00:04:02
meet people on these dating apps it's a
00:04:05
lot harder to establish a real
00:04:06
connection with someone you know when
00:04:09
you are looking for a partner this way
00:04:11
it makes it look like first of all that
00:04:13
your options are unlimited which is not
00:04:16
true but a lot of people start believing
00:04:17
that it is due to the seemingly high
00:04:20
volume of matches they might get or
00:04:22
whatever right and because of that The
00:04:25
Grass Is Always Greener mentality with a
00:04:27
lot of people on these dating apps you
00:04:29
know you could find someone and meet
00:04:31
someone and even have a successful date
00:04:33
or even successful two dates and then
00:04:35
never hear from that person again
00:04:37
because somehow they might think that
00:04:40
they can find somebody better you know
00:04:41
they feel like their options are still
00:04:43
plentiful which that's something I'll
00:04:45
never understand cuz as a person like
00:04:48
for me it's all about connection you
00:04:49
know like if I feel a connection with
00:04:52
somebody then that doesn't really make
00:04:54
you want to keep you know seeing all the
00:04:57
other options out there especially in
00:04:58
the beginning you know when you first
00:05:00
start dating you know that connection is
00:05:02
like rock solid and all you can think
00:05:04
about is the other person you know but
00:05:06
according to Pew research 75% of people
00:05:09
found it difficult to find someone
00:05:11
compatible to have children with that's
00:05:14
pretty bad you know I don't know exactly
00:05:17
what everyone's looking for in Partners
00:05:19
to have children but I would imagine
00:05:21
it's quite a long list right you know
00:05:23
it's already hard enough to get into a
00:05:25
successful relationship but it's even
00:05:27
harder to find somebody you're willing
00:05:30
to have children with because there's a
00:05:31
lot of long-term consequences that come
00:05:33
along with that but obviously one of the
00:05:35
biggest drawbacks to having kids let's
00:05:37
face it especially in today's world guys
00:05:40
is the cost okay they say that raising
00:05:43
the child on average costs about
00:05:46
$300,000 until they get to the age of 17
00:05:50
and that's just as of the 2022 figures
00:05:53
and we know that the cost of everything
00:05:55
has risen substantially since then we're
00:05:57
already in 2025 so you can reasonably
00:06:00
say it costs even more than that now and
00:06:02
if you're going to be paying for their
00:06:03
college you might as well round it up to
00:06:05
$400,000 a kid or maybe even beyond that
00:06:09
accounting for additional inflation and
00:06:11
most young adults who are in their prime
00:06:14
years for having kids are already
00:06:16
dealing with a lot of financial troubles
00:06:17
of their own you know look at the credit
00:06:19
card debt situation we talked about
00:06:21
yesterday look at how many people have
00:06:23
piled up with student loan debt in the
00:06:25
six figures sometimes and then you're
00:06:27
just struggling to buy a house you're
00:06:28
supposed to think about having kids too
00:06:30
wow check it out we have a house here
00:06:32
that's actually not a flip this house
00:06:34
was purchased back in 1989 for only
00:06:38
$100,000 okay they listed it back in
00:06:41
September of 24 for 1.1 million and
00:06:45
since they've cut the price about 50
00:06:47
Grand and it's still sitting here for
00:06:49
Miami Beach that's actually not a bad
00:06:52
price these days which is kind of crazy
00:06:54
to say I think the price needs to come
00:06:55
down even further because we're already
00:06:57
talking 4 months on the market and buyer
00:07:00
it's just amazing to see anything that's
00:07:01
not a flip these days so here's the
00:07:03
other thing you know when you're
00:07:05
thinking about finances and becoming a
00:07:07
parent and how much it's going to cost
00:07:09
obviously you know $300,000 per kid
00:07:12
400,000 is even probably more realistic
00:07:15
that's pretty hefty but if you invested
00:07:19
$400,000 in the stock market for example
00:07:22
after 17 years you could have roughly
00:07:24
doubled that into about $810,000 that's
00:07:28
more money than most people ever get
00:07:30
saved for retirement you know I went
00:07:32
over this in a recent retirement video
00:07:33
with you guys like the average person
00:07:36
between 65 and 75 years old has $200,000
00:07:40
saved for retirement guys in 17 years of
00:07:44
raising a kid if you put all of that
00:07:46
money into raising a kid into
00:07:48
Investments instead you can already come
00:07:50
out with 800k in 17 years imagine how
00:07:53
much money that would be by the time
00:07:55
you're actually ready to retire so that
00:07:57
could be a very enticing reason for a
00:08:00
lot of people not to want to have kids
00:08:02
but one thing that you're also seeing is
00:08:04
a lot of people are saying that they
00:08:06
just don't want kids which is an overall
00:08:08
cultural shift that we're seeing that we
00:08:11
didn't have before you know in 2003 83%
00:08:15
of people said they wanted kids and fast
00:08:17
forward to today that's dropped down to
00:08:19
51% you know a lot of young people are
00:08:21
very skeptical about bringing a kid into
00:08:24
this world with the uncertainty about
00:08:26
the jobs and the economy looking at
00:08:28
their own situation that they're facing
00:08:30
and wondering if that's going to be a
00:08:32
good future for themselves or their
00:08:35
children which kind of leads into a few
00:08:37
other reasons why people are deciding
00:08:39
not to have kids you know people want to
00:08:41
have that personal freedom right like
00:08:44
and not have to have that burden of
00:08:47
worrying about what's going to be the
00:08:49
future for my kid or what's the economy
00:08:51
going to be like in 20 years when they
00:08:53
start working and all of that if you
00:08:54
don't have any kids you don't have to
00:08:55
worry about it also a lot of people are
00:08:57
looking at their career they're just now
00:08:58
entering the job market and many people
00:09:02
are prioritizing their careers and they
00:09:05
know that if you have a child it can
00:09:07
greatly interfere with your professional
00:09:09
goals or aspirations this is especially
00:09:12
true for women right because obviously
00:09:15
women have to carry the kid to term and
00:09:17
then once the baby is born often times
00:09:20
it's the mother that gets maternity
00:09:22
leave not the father and this can be a
00:09:24
major setback for a woman's career and
00:09:26
it's like why did you just spend 4 years
00:09:28
or six years years going to college only
00:09:31
to four or five years later you know pop
00:09:34
out a couple of kids and be a
00:09:35
stay-at-home mom you know made it all
00:09:37
for nothing you spend all this money you
00:09:39
have a bunch of student loan debt so
00:09:41
it's almost like a decision you have to
00:09:43
make as a young woman before you even go
00:09:46
to college if you want to have kids
00:09:48
because it might play into your future
00:09:50
and the decisions you make now a lot of
00:09:52
people are also wanting to just have
00:09:54
more work life balance you know there's
00:09:56
already a challenge you know effectively
00:09:58
balancing work life balance between just
00:10:01
yourself and maybe your partner right
00:10:04
but if you have children and throw them
00:10:06
into the mix then that creates a whole
00:10:08
new set of responsibilities and a whole
00:10:10
another person you have to dedicate time
00:10:12
to which takes away time from the
00:10:14
relationship which can have devastating
00:10:17
consequences down the road as well you
00:10:19
know this problem is so severe that a
00:10:21
lot of countries are throwing a bunch of
00:10:23
money at it like for example Taiwan they
00:10:25
just spent over $3 billion in order to
00:10:28
try to boost birth rates over there with
00:10:30
little to no success France they invest
00:10:33
in family benefits yet they still
00:10:35
struggle with low fertility rates as
00:10:37
well so basically local governments are
00:10:39
almost trying to buy people off with
00:10:41
money to have them have children that's
00:10:43
how severe the situation is but let's
00:10:46
face it guys even if the government
00:10:47
where you live said you know what we'll
00:10:49
pay for 100% of the cost of having a kid
00:10:52
obviously the the monetary cost is only
00:10:55
one aspect of it right like we just
00:10:57
talked about there's still a lot lot of
00:10:59
time and effort that goes into raising a
00:11:01
kid it'll also take a toll on your
00:11:03
relationship could be for the better
00:11:04
could be for the worse depends on the
00:11:06
couple so there's other things that
00:11:07
people need to think about Beyond just
00:11:09
the money and one of them is even like
00:11:11
support right that's something that I've
00:11:13
thought about too when Lizzie and I have
00:11:15
talked about having kids like a lot of
00:11:17
people are worried that they're not
00:11:18
going to get the support they need like
00:11:20
for example we both live far away from
00:11:23
our families and none of our family
00:11:25
wants to move where we live so if we
00:11:27
wanted to have family support support
00:11:30
with our kids we would be forced to move
00:11:32
where our family lives which would take
00:11:34
a toll on our relationship in a
00:11:36
different way right cuz now we're both
00:11:38
doing something that we don't want to do
00:11:40
just to be able to have help with
00:11:42
raising our kids obviously if you have
00:11:44
to pay for dayare or child care you know
00:11:47
that's costing people you know thousands
00:11:49
of dollars a month now that you don't
00:11:52
have and who wants to have a stranger
00:11:53
raise your kid anyways I know I wouldn't
00:11:56
want that so what all this is pointing
00:11:58
to is a world and a future where we're
00:12:01
going to have Labor shortages we're
00:12:03
going to have strong economic downturns
00:12:06
due to demographics we're going to have
00:12:08
housing values collapse most likely in
00:12:11
the future because there's just going to
00:12:12
not going to be enough people to go
00:12:13
around to buy all the homes that have
00:12:15
been created for the world population as
00:12:18
it stands today and all of those things
00:12:20
can actually be a positive in the long
00:12:22
run guys like look one of our biggest
00:12:24
problems is that housing costs are too
00:12:26
high right imagine a world where that's
00:12:28
no longer the case and everybody can
00:12:30
afford a house cuz there's just not that
00:12:31
many people anymore that sounds pretty
00:12:33
good and you know eventually just like
00:12:35
the Cycles with anything else in nature
00:12:37
if we go through a long enough period
00:12:40
where the costs on things are able to
00:12:41
come down because there's just not as
00:12:43
much demand there's just not as many
00:12:44
people who need everything well then
00:12:47
eventually people are going to start
00:12:48
feeling more optimistic and more
00:12:50
prosperous and start looking at the
00:12:53
situation in a different light like yeah
00:12:55
I feel good you know that we can have a
00:12:57
family I feel like we're going to be be
00:12:59
able to do this and it's not going to be
00:13:01
that difficult but we might have to go
00:13:03
through a long period of time where the
00:13:05
global population collapses before
00:13:07
people start feeling that Prosperity
00:13:09
again I also found a story uh where they
00:13:11
talk to some American couples that don't
00:13:14
have any kids and um I wanted to go over
00:13:17
some of their stories and reasons of why
00:13:19
they decided not to have children the
00:13:21
first thing that they found out is that
00:13:23
if there's an American woman that's 40
00:13:26
years old or older and she doesn't have
00:13:27
a child her chances of having a child
00:13:30
are pretty much slim to none it's
00:13:32
probably not going to happen they talked
00:13:33
to this one couple and one of the things
00:13:35
that the woman said is that I wouldn't
00:13:37
mess up the dynamic in my life right now
00:13:39
for anything especially someone that is
00:13:42
100% dependent on me so basically This
00:13:46
Woman's 42 years old she likes her life
00:13:49
as it is right now she doesn't want to
00:13:52
mess that up she's like we've built this
00:13:54
great life together we feel very good
00:13:56
about the way things are going right now
00:13:58
why Rock the Boat
00:13:59
and I think Lizzie and I kind of feel
00:14:01
that way as well that's usually uh the
00:14:04
reason that we keep coming back to of
00:14:07
why not to have a kid because we're both
00:14:09
just happy with the lifestyle we have
00:14:11
right now and throwing a kid in there is
00:14:14
going to be a huge wrench in our
00:14:16
situation you're not going to be going
00:14:17
to California for the Summers for four
00:14:19
or five months out of the year that's
00:14:21
not going to happen the kid has to go to
00:14:23
school right can't sleep in every day
00:14:25
cuz the kids's going to be waking you up
00:14:26
you got to take them to school you got
00:14:27
to do things you're going to have less
00:14:29
time for yourself when it comes to
00:14:30
playing guitar or learning how to do
00:14:32
something or reading a book whatever you
00:14:35
just won't have that free time anymore
00:14:37
cuz now you got to dedicate that time to
00:14:39
raising your kid and the reality is one
00:14:41
thing a lot of people are craving today
00:14:43
more than having kids is they're looking
00:14:46
for a life where they have less
00:14:48
Financial pressure and they're in a more
00:14:51
ideal financial situation and a more
00:14:54
ideal emotional and social situation and
00:14:57
that's becoming more valuable to people
00:15:00
than raising a family they talked to
00:15:02
another couple the man's 38 the woman's
00:15:04
32 and the man keeps trying to convince
00:15:08
his wife that it's time for them to
00:15:10
become parents okay he says you know
00:15:12
there's a lot of people out there that
00:15:14
have less than we have and I'm pretty
00:15:16
sure we could do better than them but
00:15:18
the woman isn't sold because she grew up
00:15:21
in a household where she had a single
00:15:23
mom and she grew up helping her mom with
00:15:26
all of the diaper changes and feeding
00:15:29
and all that stuff and before she has
00:15:31
kids of her own she says she wants to
00:15:33
move from the couple's one-bedroom
00:15:35
apartment into a bigger place and she
00:15:37
says she also wants to climb the ranks
00:15:39
at her job and start earning more money
00:15:41
ideally where they're at least bringing
00:15:43
in a combined sixf figure income per
00:15:45
year so right away when I hear just that
00:15:48
snapshot of this couple's situation
00:15:50
clearly the guy is jumping the gun if
00:15:52
you guys live in a one-bedroom apartment
00:15:54
and that's all you can afford then
00:15:55
you're not ready for kids and life is
00:15:57
going to be a major struggle for you in
00:16:00
the financial department if you jump the
00:16:02
gun too early so in this case I agree
00:16:04
with the wife you know it's like let's
00:16:06
wait this out a little bit let me earn
00:16:08
some more money and then we can talk
00:16:10
about it the problem is once they have
00:16:12
the kid is the wife going to be able to
00:16:14
maintain that position and her earning
00:16:16
that's a big question mark which goes
00:16:18
back to one of the reasons we mentioned
00:16:20
earlier why people are more hesitant
00:16:22
than ever to have a kid also she says it
00:16:24
feels like a few years ago the amount
00:16:26
you needed to raise a kid seemed a lot
00:16:28
less than it is today which is true you
00:16:31
know people are feeling this inflation
00:16:33
from every angle guys and raising
00:16:34
children is no exception another thing
00:16:36
that's causing children to be more
00:16:38
expensive today is not just inflation
00:16:40
but it's also lifestyle inflation okay
00:16:43
people today want to provide more for
00:16:46
their kids than they had growing up okay
00:16:49
so what that means is spending more
00:16:50
money on your kids and dedicating more
00:16:53
time and resources to them and a lot of
00:16:56
parents feel like if I can't do that or
00:16:59
would be parents then why do it at all
00:17:01
they say that only half of the increase
00:17:03
in child care costs is due to the actual
00:17:05
cost to raise a child the other half of
00:17:08
the increase is due to parents spending
00:17:10
a lot more money on their children than
00:17:12
they did in the past in the form of
00:17:14
activities and gifts and buying them
00:17:16
things they talked to another couple
00:17:18
here who says that you know they always
00:17:20
expected there would be a moment where
00:17:22
they wanted to become parents but by the
00:17:25
time they hit their mid-30s and they
00:17:27
realized that hadn't happened yet they
00:17:30
started to look at other alternative
00:17:32
ways to live their life and that sounds
00:17:34
very similar to my story and Lizzy's
00:17:36
story as well cuz a lot of people say oh
00:17:38
you'll grow into it you know you develop
00:17:39
those feelings you want to start a
00:17:41
family and these guys make a lot of
00:17:43
money you know combined they make
00:17:44
$280,000 a year they put $4,500 a month
00:17:48
towards an early retirement which they
00:17:50
hope to be retired in their mid-50s and
00:17:53
they spend another $2,600 on rent and
00:17:56
the remaining $8,000 a month which
00:17:58
normally would would have been eaten up
00:17:59
by raising children most likely they
00:18:02
used to just live their lives they kind
00:18:04
of just blow the money guys they say
00:18:06
they dine out at a lot of the upscale
00:18:07
restaurants nearby they sometimes
00:18:09
they'll spend $700 on a dinner because
00:18:12
they can you know you're earning a lot
00:18:14
of money you don't have any other
00:18:15
responsibilities why not live life today
00:18:18
you know none of that money is going to
00:18:19
come with you when you die shouldn't be
00:18:20
saving it all for retirement like we've
00:18:22
talked about in past videos they paid
00:18:24
cash for their BMW you know and this
00:18:26
shouldn't come as a major surprise but
00:18:28
the longer people wait to have kids and
00:18:31
the less likely they are to have kids
00:18:33
and that's another thing that seems like
00:18:35
is happening to us as well and crazy
00:18:38
enough I feel like the the conversation
00:18:40
is still going like I feel like
00:18:42
sometimes my wife still thinks that she
00:18:45
wants to have a kid you know most of the
00:18:47
things that we already talked about
00:18:48
point to the fact that she probably
00:18:50
doesn't even though we're in a position
00:18:52
now where we can financially afford to
00:18:54
have a kid you know now it's more
00:18:56
decision about lifestyle and emotion
00:18:58
know like do you want to live that
00:19:01
lifestyle for the next 20 years you know
00:19:03
you're changing you're basically turning
00:19:04
your life upside down and the thing is
00:19:06
as you get older you get more set in
00:19:09
your routine right and you get lazier
00:19:12
let's face it like I feel like I had a
00:19:14
lot more energy for maybe raising a kid
00:19:17
back in my mid 20s compared to now the
00:19:20
problem is I didn't have the money in my
00:19:22
mid-20s and if I would have had a kid
00:19:24
back then I think I would be miserable
00:19:26
today that's the reality guys like as
00:19:29
much joy as a kid can bring to your life
00:19:32
one thing I know I wouldn't be happy
00:19:33
about is constantly struggling for money
00:19:36
cuz I was already struggling on my own
00:19:38
back then I couldn't imagine having a
00:19:40
kid to feed when I was 25 and I think
00:19:43
pretty much everybody in my position or
00:19:46
adults that are getting towards the age
00:19:48
of you have like this cut off right
00:19:49
where I'm either going to do it or I'm
00:19:51
not going to do it eventually you'll
00:19:53
think about it one day and say you know
00:19:55
I wonder what it would be like I still
00:19:57
think about that sometimes my s but at
00:19:59
the end of the day you have to just be
00:20:01
you know happy with your decision
00:20:03
because you can't spend your whole life
00:20:05
wondering what life would have been like
00:20:07
if I would have done this or if I would
00:20:09
have done that even when it comes to
00:20:11
things like this and one thing I know
00:20:13
for sure about my own life is my life
00:20:15
would be a lot harder right now if I had
00:20:17
a couple of kids you know 10 years ago
00:20:20
versus now that I don't have them all
00:20:22
that money I was able to save and invest
00:20:24
and put me in a situation where I am
00:20:26
today I finally feel like I've gotten
00:20:29
somewhere and one thing that I've kind
00:20:31
of just come to the realization about in
00:20:33
my own life is like okay the idea of
00:20:36
kids sounds good right it's nice to have
00:20:38
little ones and especially me I love
00:20:40
babies okay I love when they're infants
00:20:42
I love taking care of them I help raise
00:20:44
my sister and a lot of my cousins
00:20:46
because I was the oldest you know I was
00:20:48
already 10 years old when my sister was
00:20:50
born and so I'm very familiar and
00:20:53
helping out with babies you know I was
00:20:55
well versed in that as a kid and I
00:20:56
always thought it was really neat but
00:20:58
that was different right like you're
00:21:00
just a kid helping out sometimes
00:21:02
occasionally with babysitting and it's a
00:21:05
whole different thing to have it be a
00:21:07
full-time commitment as a parent right
00:21:09
not only financially but emotionally and
00:21:12
your time commitment and when you're 10
00:21:13
years old you don't have much to do
00:21:15
besides go to school do your homework
00:21:18
play around the house so it's easy to
00:21:19
help out your parents with your siblings
00:21:22
for example but when you're older like
00:21:24
me you already have your own life you
00:21:26
already have responsibilities you know
00:21:28
now you're throwing in an extra
00:21:30
responsibility an extra time commitment
00:21:32
on an already time constrained life that
00:21:35
you didn't have when you were a kid so I
00:21:37
feel like the idea of having kids
00:21:39
sometimes it's like it's just like
00:21:41
anything else right where the fantasy is
00:21:44
better than the reality so you think
00:21:47
about it it sounds really good and it
00:21:49
sounds exciting and it probably will be
00:21:51
for the first few years but once they
00:21:54
get a little bit older old enough to
00:21:56
talk back and start becoming brats
00:21:58
that's when the fund's over at least
00:22:00
that's what I think but and please in no
00:22:02
way don't use this video as like a
00:22:04
reason why you don't have kids just
00:22:06
think about everything I said because
00:22:09
these are realistic issues that you're
00:22:11
going to face if you're looking at
00:22:13
becoming a parent and even as somebody
00:22:16
who's not a parent my best advice to
00:22:18
somebody who wants to have kids would be
00:22:20
to do it if you want to do it just have
00:22:23
your expectations in line with reality
00:22:26
in terms of what your life is going to
00:22:27
look like in terms terms of what you're
00:22:29
going to be able to afford in terms of
00:22:30
what you're not going to be able to
00:22:32
afford you know think about things like
00:22:34
if you're already struggling to afford a
00:22:36
house now and you're almost 30 years old
00:22:38
you know You' thinking about having kids
00:22:40
imagine the tough road you're going to
00:22:41
have ahead of yourself in terms of that
00:22:44
you know it's not going to be easy at
00:22:46
all and without some amazing luck you
00:22:48
could be in for a long hard road unless
00:22:51
you have a lot of support in terms of
00:22:54
family help and not having to spend as
00:22:55
much on raising a kid or things like
00:22:58
that it might be pretty tough and also
00:23:00
if you're younger and somebody watching
00:23:02
this as stupid as it might be
00:23:04
financially you might be better off just
00:23:06
having kids when you're young and
00:23:08
getting it over with sooner than later
00:23:10
because it's just like I said in this
00:23:12
video the older you get the less likely
00:23:14
you're going to be to do it and it's
00:23:16
almost like the finances have to be an
00:23:18
afterthought you have to be in it for
00:23:20
the family aspect and wanting to have
00:23:22
children and worry about the money part
00:23:25
later which unfortunately causes a lot
00:23:27
of problems with people and you have to
00:23:28
willing to accept the potential
00:23:30
consequences of that decision so
00:23:32
hopefully this video helped you in some
00:23:34
way or another and if it did make sure
00:23:36
you are subscribe to the channel and if
00:23:38
you don't want to wait for my next video
00:23:39
to come out check out this one on the
00:23:41
screen right over here and I'll see you
00:23:44
in the next one
