- 00:00:00I've devised a scientifically proven
- 00:00:03system to help you figure out what job
- 00:00:05is right for you. It's based on real
- 00:00:06psychological research on what actually
- 00:00:08makes people stay in jobs and what
- 00:00:10actually keeps people emotionally
- 00:00:11satisfied in their jobs. So, the way
- 00:00:13this works is I'm going to give you a
- 00:00:15system based on five core values:
- 00:00:18autonomy, pay, stability, variety, and
- 00:00:20alignment. Out of these five values,
- 00:00:22you're going to pick your top two values
- 00:00:24which are the most important to you when
- 00:00:25looking for a job. And then you're going
- 00:00:27to pick one throwaway. So, the throwaway
- 00:00:30is basically the value out of those five
- 00:00:32that you care the least about or like
- 00:00:33you give the least of a [ __ ] about when
- 00:00:34you're looking for a job. Obviously, I'm
- 00:00:35going to tell you a little bit more
- 00:00:37about each value so that you can decide
- 00:00:39properly and then afterwards based on
- 00:00:41your unique accommodation. I'll tell you
- 00:00:43what career path is the best match for
- 00:00:44your priorities. Okay, so running
- 00:00:46through the five core values. Number
- 00:00:48one, autonomy. Autonomy is how much
- 00:00:50freedom you have in the job. So, like
- 00:00:52how, when, and where you work. So, if
- 00:00:54autonomy is one of your top values,
- 00:00:56right, it means that you're someone that
- 00:00:58really hates being micromanaged. You
- 00:01:00probably don't like rigid schedules and
- 00:01:02you'd rather be left alone to work
- 00:01:04rather than have to explain anything to
- 00:01:06like aing supervisor. So, basically,
- 00:01:08autonomy is for people that want full
- 00:01:10control over both your time and also
- 00:01:12your task. The second core value is pay.
- 00:01:14So, obviously pay, this is about money,
- 00:01:16right? But I need to explain to you
- 00:01:17specifically what I mean by pay in the
- 00:01:19context here. So pay here is not like
- 00:01:21maximizing the amount of money you make
- 00:01:23in your job. It's more about how your
- 00:01:26income matters to you compared to the
- 00:01:27other values on this list. Okay? So I'll
- 00:01:29give you an example. It's not saying
- 00:01:31that like if you don't pick pay as one
- 00:01:33of your top values that you don't care
- 00:01:34about being fairly compensated for your
- 00:01:35work, right? Like that you'll work for
- 00:01:37pennies. Obviously that's not the case,
- 00:01:38right? Because everyone wants to be paid
- 00:01:41enough to at least make rent, buy food,
- 00:01:43right? Like that's not what pay as like
- 00:01:45a top value is. What pay as your top
- 00:01:47value means is are you the type of
- 00:01:49person who would choose a better paying
- 00:01:51job even if it was more boring or like
- 00:01:53less flexible or like less aligned with
- 00:01:55your identity. If that's you then you
- 00:01:57might pick pay as one of your top
- 00:01:59values, right? Versus are you the type
- 00:02:01of person who would take a lower paying
- 00:02:02job which still pays you enough to pay
- 00:02:04your bills but like a lower paying job
- 00:02:06that felt more meaningful, more creative
- 00:02:08or gave you more freedom. If that's you
- 00:02:11then pay is not one of your top values.
- 00:02:13Another thing to note if you pick pay is
- 00:02:15like if you're someone that really
- 00:02:17prioritizes financial security or if you
- 00:02:19feel like anxious or resentful without
- 00:02:21financial security then pay would be one
- 00:02:23of your top values. Okay. So the next
- 00:02:25value is stability. So stability is how
- 00:02:27consistent and predictable your job is.
- 00:02:30So for example how long the contract is,
- 00:02:31what the benefits of the job are,
- 00:02:33whether you have like the opportunity to
- 00:02:35continue doing this job long term. So if
- 00:02:37you're someone that really values
- 00:02:39knowing what the next six months of your
- 00:02:41life looks like or like the thought of
- 00:02:43like a project or gig based job where
- 00:02:44after the project is done you have to
- 00:02:46find something else. If that thought of
- 00:02:47like looking for something else once
- 00:02:49this is done if that makes you really
- 00:02:51anxious then stability might be one of
- 00:02:52your top values. The next value is
- 00:02:55variety. So variety as your top value
- 00:02:57means how mentally stimulating your job
- 00:03:00is. So like how often things change like
- 00:03:02how many different hats you get to wear
- 00:03:04at the job. Okay. the variety of
- 00:03:05different tasks you get to do at the
- 00:03:06job. So, if you're someone that gets
- 00:03:08bored really easily or you hate routine,
- 00:03:09then variety might be one of your top
- 00:03:11values. The next value is alignment. So,
- 00:03:14alignment is how much your job matches
- 00:03:16your personal values, your identity, and
- 00:03:18your sense of purpose. So, it might be
- 00:03:19like the mission of the job. I love
- 00:03:21using the word mission, like the mission
- 00:03:23of like the role or even like the
- 00:03:24company or if you're someone that's
- 00:03:25like, I can't stomach working for a
- 00:03:27company that sells things that I don't
- 00:03:29believe in or like I don't use. If like
- 00:03:31you actually care about this stuff, then
- 00:03:32alignment might be one of your top
- 00:03:34values. So, those are the five different
- 00:03:35values, right? By the way, if you're
- 00:03:37doubting the claim I made at the
- 00:03:38beginning of the video, which is that
- 00:03:40this is based on actual research. I've
- 00:03:41linked all of the studies that I've
- 00:03:43looked at in the description below, not
- 00:03:45cited properly, like no MLA format
- 00:03:46because I'm not [ __ ] 18 years old.
- 00:03:48I'm not in college. I don't even do
- 00:03:49that. There's the name of the studies,
- 00:03:50the years of the studies. You can find
- 00:03:52the studies. It's all there. Look at
- 00:03:53that if you want to. Okay. Okay, so now
- 00:03:54that you know the five values, you're
- 00:03:56now going to pick two out of those five
- 00:03:58values which are the most important to
- 00:04:00you when looking for a job. Okay, by the
- 00:04:02way, these top two, they're not ordered,
- 00:04:04right? So it's not like top one and then
- 00:04:05second choice. It's like two evenly
- 00:04:07given top priority values, if that makes
- 00:04:09sense. And then after you do that,
- 00:04:10right, after you pick two, out of the
- 00:04:12three remaining values, pick out of
- 00:04:14those three, the one value which is your
- 00:04:16least prioritized. So like the one that
- 00:04:19you give the least of a about in a job,
- 00:04:20that's going to be your throwaway. I'll
- 00:04:21give you an example, right? So, like if
- 00:04:24you really value long-term stability and
- 00:04:26also variety of tasks in your job, but
- 00:04:27you don't really care about like how
- 00:04:29autonomous my job is, like I don't
- 00:04:30really care if a supervisor is watching
- 00:04:32me, then your top two values would be
- 00:04:34stability and variety, and your
- 00:04:35throwaway would be autonomy. Do you get
- 00:04:36me? Okay, so now you should have a
- 00:04:38unique combination of like three
- 00:04:40different keywords, right? So, depending
- 00:04:41on your combination, I'm going to tell
- 00:04:42you the types of jobs you should get
- 00:04:44based on your unique combinations. I've
- 00:04:46given little names to each of the
- 00:04:48different types of archetypes of jobs
- 00:04:50that you should get. I'm going to flash
- 00:04:52it on screen now. Pause the video,
- 00:04:54figure out where you are, and then go to
- 00:04:55like the section in the video where like
- 00:04:58your value is on screen.
- 00:04:59Okay, so now you should know which of
- 00:05:01the 10 archetypes you are. Now, some of
- 00:05:03you might have noticed on that table,
- 00:05:04you might have noticed that the
- 00:05:06archetypes are organized by your top two
- 00:05:08values, not the throwaway, right? So,
- 00:05:10that's on purpose. Basically, your
- 00:05:12throwaway does matter in the sense that
- 00:05:14it kind of changes the flavor of your
- 00:05:16type, right? But the issue is, as you
- 00:05:18can see, there were 10 archetypes. If I
- 00:05:19try and explain all the different types
- 00:05:22of combinations of the top two values as
- 00:05:24well as a throwaway, if you can do the
- 00:05:26math here, right? 10 possible top two
- 00:05:27combinations times three possible
- 00:05:29throwaways each, right? Because the
- 00:05:30remaining three values, that's 30
- 00:05:32different archetypes. And that is like
- 00:05:33logistically not possible for me to
- 00:05:35explain all in one video because the
- 00:05:37video would be like 5 hours long and I
- 00:05:38want to be able to like get out a video
- 00:05:40for you guys every week. Basically,
- 00:05:41we're just going to go over the 10
- 00:05:42archetypes based on the top two
- 00:05:44different value combinations. Don't
- 00:05:45worry, even if your throwaway is
- 00:05:47different, everyone still fits in the
- 00:05:49same core archetype determined by your
- 00:05:50top two values. So, you still definitely
- 00:05:52fit in these 10 and the job will be the
- 00:05:54right recommendation. The throwaway just
- 00:05:55determines the nuance. So, if you want
- 00:05:57to know the exact exact variant and what
- 00:05:59jobs are for you, then you can get a
- 00:06:01hard copy of the file of every single of
- 00:06:03the 30 different combinations broken
- 00:06:05down in my shop. The link is up there
- 00:06:07and it's also in the description. It'll
- 00:06:09set out the 30 which gives you the exact
- 00:06:11variation of what combination you are
- 00:06:13exactly what nuance you need to keep an
- 00:06:14eye out for when you're job hunting. So
- 00:06:15we're going to look at each of the 10
- 00:06:17archetypes in turn. Right? Starting with
- 00:06:20if your top values are pay and autonomy
- 00:06:22then your archetype is the independent
- 00:06:24earner. So the independent earner is
- 00:06:25basically you care about making money
- 00:06:27but also on your own terms, right? So
- 00:06:29like you're not really looking to like
- 00:06:31climb someone else's ladder. That's so
- 00:06:33lame. You're not really looking to climb
- 00:06:34someone else's ladder. Like if a job has
- 00:06:38too many rules or like meetings or vague
- 00:06:40team building exercises, you're gone.
- 00:06:41You're exiting. You're out the door.
- 00:06:42You're gone. You're out of there. Okay.
- 00:06:44You're the type of person who really
- 00:06:46cares about having control over how you
- 00:06:47work and like when you work and like who
- 00:06:49you work with, then the idea of having a
- 00:06:52manager looking and checking out,
- 00:06:53they're like, "What are you doing? What
- 00:06:54are you like at every second?" If that
- 00:06:55sounds worse to you than like figuring
- 00:06:57it out yourself, but also doing it 10
- 00:06:58times slower. If you're like, "I'd
- 00:07:00rather just be just leave me alone. I'll
- 00:07:01figure it out." If that's the kind of
- 00:07:03setup that you like where like you make
- 00:07:05money but with autonomy, this archetype
- 00:07:08works the best in jobs where you can
- 00:07:10directly tie your own output to your
- 00:07:12income and also where no one's stopping
- 00:07:14you from experimenting in the role
- 00:07:16itself. So some of the jobs that might
- 00:07:17be right for you if you're an
- 00:07:19independent earner. You should look into
- 00:07:21jobs in freelance creative work which
- 00:07:23include design, video, writing,
- 00:07:25branding. You can also look at
- 00:07:27consulting or contract based work. So
- 00:07:28these are roles where you solve a
- 00:07:30problem and you get paid and then you
- 00:07:31move on, right? You could look into
- 00:07:33small business ownership especially if
- 00:07:35it's like niche or like flexible or like
- 00:07:37an online business, right? Another thing
- 00:07:39you could actually look into is like
- 00:07:41startup or like solo founder path where
- 00:07:43freedom comes with risk, right? But like
- 00:07:45the upside is yours. That's the actual
- 00:07:47appeal of it. So you're like the type of
- 00:07:49personality that would actually actually
- 00:07:51enjoy being an entrepreneur or like
- 00:07:52being self-employed. Basically, you're
- 00:07:54the actual target demographic of all of
- 00:07:56those people online that preach about
- 00:07:57like everyone should be their own boss.
- 00:07:58Like everyone wants to be self-employed.
- 00:08:00That is not true. Okay. Not everyone is
- 00:08:02well suited for that path or like would
- 00:08:04actually like it. But you actually
- 00:08:05mother you are actually the target
- 00:08:06because you do actually want to make
- 00:08:08your path. You want to make money but
- 00:08:09also you're kind of a control freak. You
- 00:08:11kind of want to do it your own way.
- 00:08:12Control matters more than certainty for
- 00:08:14you. Therefore actually startup
- 00:08:16entrepreneurship solo founder that's
- 00:08:18actually for you. By the way, if you're
- 00:08:20an independent earner, an escape artist,
- 00:08:22a principled builder, or a prestigious
- 00:08:24idealist, then you're going to want to
- 00:08:26listen to this next book. So, these four
- 00:08:27archetypes, right? These are all
- 00:08:29profiles of people who actually want
- 00:08:31more from their work, right? More
- 00:08:33freedom, more meaning, more flexibility,
- 00:08:35and let's be real, uh probably more
- 00:08:36money. Whether you're craving
- 00:08:38independence to build your own thing,
- 00:08:40creativity to actually enjoy what you
- 00:08:42do, or stability in knowing that you're
- 00:08:44like in a futurep proof field, tech
- 00:08:46careers often check those boxes. And
- 00:08:47you're probably sitting there right now
- 00:08:49being like, "Okay, that's cool, Crystal.
- 00:08:50Yeah, tech careers. What the how the
- 00:08:52hell am I supposed to even start?" Okay,
- 00:08:53that's where Triple 10 comes in. Triple
- 00:08:5510 is a platform that helps you shift

- 00:09:06match you with real projects with real
- 00:09:08companies. So, by the time you graduate,

- 00:09:19of the learning of college, but minus
- 00:09:21any of the risk of being a barista till
- 00:09:23you're 30 years old. Okay? And it's not
- 00:09:25just coding. Triple 10 has paths in
- 00:09:27data, product analytics, and QA. So if
- 00:09:28you're someone that wants to pivot into

- 00:09:40get started for as little as $200 a
- 00:09:41month. Thank you, Triple 10, for
- 00:09:42sponsoring this video. Okay, the next
- 00:09:44combination is if your top values are
- 00:09:47autonomy and variety, then you're the
- 00:09:49archetype of the escape artist. So,
- 00:09:50you're basically someone that wants
- 00:09:51freedom in how you work as well as
- 00:09:54something new to work on each time. You
- 00:09:56basically hate repetition and you don't
- 00:09:58really give a about structure either.
- 00:09:59You basically want to be left alone to
- 00:10:01do whatever task it is. And you want
- 00:10:04constant variety on exactly what it is
- 00:10:05that you're doing. You might have been
- 00:10:06someone when you're younger that you
- 00:10:08were told you were like restless or
- 00:10:10you're always jumping between projects
- 00:10:12or new things or reinventing some old
- 00:10:13thing that you were into but you're not
- 00:10:15into now. But actually now you're doing
- 00:10:16this other thing you forgot about that.
- 00:10:17You're just you're just all over the
- 00:10:18place. Okay. You're probably someone
- 00:10:20that thinks that you have too many
- 00:10:22interests and not enough time and also
- 00:10:24probably not enough patience to see your
- 00:10:25interest through. you're the type of
- 00:10:27person if you're an escape artist, you
- 00:10:29would do the best in roles where
- 00:10:31creativity, independence, and like
- 00:10:33constantly moving or like constant
- 00:10:36variety is all central to the role,
- 00:10:37right? So, so you should be looking into
- 00:10:39jobs like creative direction, brand
- 00:10:41development, content strategy, product
- 00:10:43design, especially in fast-paced teams.
- 00:10:45You can also look into UX research,
- 00:10:47innovation roles, or like anything
- 00:10:49experimental or crossf functional, which
- 00:10:50gives you that variety that you really
- 00:10:51want. You can also look into
- 00:10:53entrepreneurial paths where you set your
- 00:10:55own terms and you can like like change
- 00:10:57direction when needed or when you get
- 00:11:00inevitably bored. Okay, moving on. If
- 00:11:02your top values are autonomy and
- 00:11:04alignment, then you're the archetype of
- 00:11:06the principled builder. So, if you're a
- 00:11:07principled builder, you're someone that
- 00:11:09really cares about doing meaningful
- 00:11:12work, but also the meaningful work needs
- 00:11:14to be like on your terms, on your watch,
- 00:11:16on your time, mother. Basically, you
- 00:11:18want to be in a role which like aligns
- 00:11:19with like it needs to align with my
- 00:11:20soul, right? training is aligned with my
- 00:11:22mission or like you want to be the
- 00:11:23person like makes the mission, right?
- 00:11:25So, you want to make sure that it aligns
- 00:11:27with what you feel morally is right or
- 00:11:28like I want to feel like my role makes
- 00:11:30an impact blah blah blah. So, it's
- 00:11:32really important for you to be able to
- 00:11:34work and think independently but also be
- 00:11:36in a job where like the driving force is
- 00:11:38something that actually reflects your
- 00:11:40actual values, right? So some roles or
- 00:11:41like some career paths that you can do
- 00:11:43that where like it matches your top
- 00:11:45values. That could look like founding or
- 00:11:47joining an early stage startup with an
- 00:11:49actual clear purpose that you actually
- 00:11:52align with. Activism adjacent strategy
- 00:11:54or like long-term systems change work is
- 00:11:56good for you. You can also look into
- 00:11:58independent consulting in areas like
- 00:12:00DEI, sustainability or ethical design.
- 00:12:02Okay, moving on. If your top values are
- 00:12:04pay and alignment, then you're the
- 00:12:06archetype of the prestigious idealist.
- 00:12:07So, you're the type of person that's
- 00:12:09like, I want my work to actually mean
- 00:12:10something. But also, the other part of
- 00:12:12you is like, I need to be well
- 00:12:13respected, well compensated, but also
- 00:12:15you're the type of person that like once
- 00:12:17a year you'd like to be featured in an
- 00:12:18article about how impactful you are or
- 00:12:20like how you're really saving the world
- 00:12:21or like society or polar bears or the
- 00:12:23children, one of those. Basically,
- 00:12:24you're the type of person that
- 00:12:26simultaneously refuses to sell your soul
- 00:12:28for a paycheck, but also you're not
- 00:12:29about to martyr yourself for a cause
- 00:12:32that pays in like free exposure and like
- 00:12:34cloud and tote bags, right? You want to
- 00:12:35be paid in money. Dollar bills. I don't
- 00:12:37be painting money, but also I want to be
- 00:12:39clapped on my back for being a good
- 00:12:41person because of my charitable job, my
- 00:12:43bleeding beautiful heart, right? So, so
- 00:12:44some careers that might tend to match
- 00:12:46this blend, which you could consider
- 00:12:48include climate tech or like other
- 00:12:51sustainability startups, social impact
- 00:12:53PR or public facing roles. Some BC corps
- 00:12:55are really good or like missionled
- 00:12:57companies that actually practice whating
- 00:12:59preach. You're going to have to do some
- 00:13:01proper digging and research if you're
- 00:13:02this archetype. Okay, moving to the next
- 00:13:04archetype. If your top values are pay
- 00:13:06and stability, then you're a steady
- 00:13:08climber. So, if you're a steady climber,
- 00:13:09you're someone that wants to be
- 00:13:11financially comfortable, but also you
- 00:13:13want like stability, right? Your job
- 00:13:15needs to have structure. So, promotions
- 00:13:17are good. Promotions make sense to you.
- 00:13:20Titles mean something. Basically, any
- 00:13:21job where like you don't have to explain
- 00:13:22to your parents what you do for a
- 00:13:24living. Just think like your Asian
- 00:13:25parents would be down for this. Like,
- 00:13:27they'd be cool with this job. You're
- 00:13:28probably the kind of person who likes
- 00:13:30having a plan and you'd rather be very
- 00:13:32good at like one thing or like one
- 00:13:34system rather than be constantly
- 00:13:36bouncing between industries and roles.
- 00:13:38Like the idea of bouncing between
- 00:13:40different roles, if that makes you
- 00:13:42anxious, you might be a steady climber.
- 00:13:43You also don't want to have to be
- 00:13:45jumping ship every 6 months. So you
- 00:13:47basically want a track to like move up
- 00:13:49on, right? So like one that's clearly
- 00:13:52respected very transparently. it's
- 00:13:54obvious like what the next step is and
- 00:13:56it pays you more the longer you stay in
- 00:13:58the path. So, if this is your archetype,
- 00:13:59some jobs that you might look into
- 00:14:01include government roles. So, that can
- 00:14:02include the civil service or public
- 00:14:04sector admin. This one might be like a
- 00:14:05little bureaucratic, but like to be
- 00:14:07honest, if you're this archetype, it's
- 00:14:08probably still a solid choice for you.
- 00:14:10You could also look into corporate
- 00:14:11management, especially in larger
- 00:14:12companies. You could also be a really
- 00:14:14good fit for finance because the pay
- 00:14:16scales are structured and growth is
- 00:14:17really predictable. Or you can go into
- 00:14:19like being for consulting or just
- 00:14:20consulting. Accounting is really good
- 00:14:22because they give you name brand
- 00:14:24credibility and also a clear ladder for
- 00:14:26moving up the pay scale. Basically, at
- 00:14:27the end of the day, you want to work
- 00:14:29somewhere that rewards consistency and
- 00:14:30these are some of the jobs that you
- 00:14:32could look into. By the way, if your top
- 00:14:33values are pay and stability, you might
- 00:14:35also be interested in this other video I
- 00:14:36made which talks about some pretty
- 00:14:38underrated jobs which pay you pretty
- 00:14:40well and are pretty stable. So, you can
- 00:14:41check that video out when you're done
- 00:14:43with this one. Okay, moving on. If your
- 00:14:45top values are pay and variety, then
- 00:14:47you're what I call an adaptive hustler.
- 00:14:49I hate that name, but I couldn't think
- 00:14:50of a better one, which is what we're
- 00:14:51going to go with. Okay, you're an
- 00:14:53adaptive h. God, I hate the word
- 00:14:54hustler. You're an adaptive hustler.
- 00:14:56Basically, you're someone who likes it
- 00:14:58when like no two work days look the
- 00:14:59same, right? You're someone that really
- 00:15:02needs you need stimulation. Okay, so it
- 00:15:03might be like new challenges, new
- 00:15:05clients, etc. You're probably really
- 00:15:06good at jumping into unfamiliar
- 00:15:08situations or like you like jumping into
- 00:15:10unfamiliar situations. You like just
- 00:15:12figuring it out. You're like, I'll just
- 00:15:13I'll just learn in the job. Okay, it's
- 00:15:14fine. Learning [ __ ] on the job, that's
- 00:15:16your cup of tea, right? You like doing
- 00:15:17that [ __ ] You might be really good at
- 00:15:18multitasking or thinking outside the
- 00:15:20box. If you identify as someone that
- 00:15:21kind of just like, oh, I do like a
- 00:15:22little bit of everything. This is
- 00:15:24probably you're probably an adaptive
- 00:15:25hustler. So, I basically just describe
- 00:15:26the variety part of this archetype,
- 00:15:28right? But because the other value is,
- 00:15:30hey, you also want to be well paid for
- 00:15:31this. Okay, which is fair. That makes
- 00:15:33sense. So, jobs that fit this profile
- 00:15:35tend to be really high output, really
- 00:15:37fast-paced, and they're often project
- 00:15:39based because that gives you the maximum
- 00:15:41variety and also lets you have the most
- 00:15:43opportunities to be well compensated for
- 00:15:44your work. So you might want to look
- 00:15:47into jobs in brand strategy or creative
- 00:15:49agency work because that is where every
- 00:15:51client is different. Every job is
- 00:15:52different. You could look into event
- 00:15:54planning or production where no day is
- 00:15:56repeatable. There goal clients of all
- 00:15:58all shapes and sizes. Media marketing
- 00:16:00content roles that reward probably
- 00:16:03monetarily speed and reinvention which
- 00:16:04are both things that are you're good at.
- 00:16:06Or you can look into gig or contract
- 00:16:07based work, especially if you're
- 00:16:09juggling multiple streams of income at
- 00:16:12once, so you can have more control over
- 00:16:13how your income is coming in on a
- 00:16:15day-to-day. Okay, moving on. If your top
- 00:16:18values are autonomy and stability, then
- 00:16:19you're a steady individualist. So, if
- 00:16:21you're a steady individualist, you're
- 00:16:23basically someone that wants long-term
- 00:16:25security, but also you don't want to be
- 00:16:27micromanaged or have someone fully
- 00:16:28breathing down your neck 24/7. You're
- 00:16:30probably someone that prefers work
- 00:16:32that's consistent or like you kind of
- 00:16:33know what's going on every day, right?
- 00:16:35but also you kind of want a say in how
- 00:16:37things are done personally. Most likely
- 00:16:39you're described or you identify as
- 00:16:41someone that's quite thoughtful,
- 00:16:43organized, and also independent. So,
- 00:16:44you're the kind of person that really
- 00:16:46likes having control over your
- 00:16:48environment, but maybe you don't really
- 00:16:50need all the constant variety to stay
- 00:16:52engaged. You kind of just like doing the
- 00:16:54same thing over and over, but you just
- 00:16:55kind of you want to be able to do it
- 00:16:57your way. So if you're a steady
- 00:16:58individualist, you want to look for a
- 00:17:00job that has clear structure and job
- 00:17:02security, but also it has enough room
- 00:17:04for you to manage your own time or like
- 00:17:06your own workspace, right? So some of
- 00:17:07the jobs that might be good for this
- 00:17:09include operations, project management
- 00:17:11or like compliance roles, especially in
- 00:17:13wellestablished companies because they
- 00:17:15give you that stability. You can also
- 00:17:17look into academic research coordination
- 00:17:19where you're managing like long-term
- 00:17:21plans, but it's not fully fully fully
- 00:17:23chaotic. admin or systems work,
- 00:17:25especially like tech adjacent admin or
- 00:17:26systems because there's both
- 00:17:28predictability and like also process
- 00:17:30ownership and like what's going on every
- 00:17:32day. Or you can get into specialist
- 00:17:33consulting where you manage your own
- 00:17:36case load inside of a broader team.
- 00:17:38Okay, moving on. If your top values are
- 00:17:39stability and variety, then you're what
- 00:17:41I call a structured explorer here.
- 00:17:43You're basically the type of person that
- 00:17:45needs a job to be mentally stimulating
- 00:17:47with like a bunch of like different
- 00:17:48tasks, right? a bunch of a variety of
- 00:17:50different tasks, but also you don't
- 00:17:51necessarily want to be tossed to the
- 00:17:52wolves. Like, you don't really want to
- 00:17:54be thrown into full chaos. You're the
- 00:17:55type of person who likes having new
- 00:17:57things to work on and like different
- 00:17:58problems to solve, different people to
- 00:18:00deal with, but like all within a system
- 00:18:02that's pretty established and won't just
- 00:18:03suddenly collapse on you for no reason.
- 00:18:05You're probably someone that's both very
- 00:18:07easily bored, but also very anxious when
- 00:18:09things get unpredictable. I'm sure
- 00:18:10you're a great person to be in a
- 00:18:11relationship with. I'm just kidding. Not
- 00:18:13really. Basically, you want both
- 00:18:15stimulation, but also a reliable
- 00:18:16foundation. I'm sure you're a great
- 00:18:18person to be in a relationship with. I'm
- 00:18:19just kidding. I just made that joke. No,
- 00:18:21I'm kidding. Not really. So, jobs that
- 00:18:23tend to fit this balance of like
- 00:18:25stimulation and stability. These might
- 00:18:27include product management because your
- 00:18:28work is project based, but it's also
- 00:18:31like grounded in road map or like a
- 00:18:32longer term root of like what's going
- 00:18:34on. You might also consider teaching,
- 00:18:36especially in environments where there's
- 00:18:38like strong institutional support, which
- 00:18:39gives you that stability. And also
- 00:18:41teaching, consider teaching small kids.
- 00:18:42I'm sure there's enough chaos and
- 00:18:44variety for that on the dayto-day. You
- 00:18:45could also consider healthcare roles,
- 00:18:47especially with rotation, so you're not
- 00:18:48always doing the same thing all the
- 00:18:50time, but also there's structure, right?
- 00:18:52To be honest, healthcare in general is
- 00:18:53probably a good one for you because
- 00:18:55there's enough chaos, but you're also
- 00:18:57not at risk of like being let go all the
- 00:18:59time. Some good ones, radiology, speech
- 00:19:01therapy, even nursing. They're all good
- 00:19:03options to consider. You could also
- 00:19:05consider policy, urban planning, or like
- 00:19:07nonprofit operations where the mission
- 00:19:09itself evolves, but the systems or like
- 00:19:11what you're doing, your task stays
- 00:19:13pretty similar on the day-to-day. Okay,
- 00:19:14moving on. If your top values are
- 00:19:16stability and alignment, then you're a
- 00:19:18purposeful planner. So here, you're
- 00:19:20someone that wants to feel secure in
- 00:19:21your work, but also you want to feel
- 00:19:23good about your work, right? So like you
- 00:19:24want to feel like your time is going
- 00:19:26into something that matters, but also I
- 00:19:27want to feel like I'm not going to be
- 00:19:28let go all the time. Okay? You're
- 00:19:29basically someone that's not really
- 00:19:32looking to chase huge risks, huge
- 00:19:34rewards. Like you're not a big risk,
- 00:19:35high risk, high reward. That's not you.
- 00:19:37You're not looking to like radically
- 00:19:39change or like invent some like invent
- 00:19:40the next great thing. It's not really
- 00:19:42you. What you're looking for is
- 00:19:43basically you want a job that has
- 00:19:46consistency. It has values that you're
- 00:19:48aligned with and it has like a clear
- 00:19:49sense of purpose and therefore gives you
- 00:19:50a clear sense of purpose in your own
- 00:19:51life. Okay? You're probably someone
- 00:19:53that's pretty thoughtful. You're pretty
- 00:19:55long-term oriented and you're pretty
- 00:19:57idealistic or like quietly idealistic.
- 00:19:58Maybe you don't you don't say it out
- 00:20:00loud. So, if you're this type of person,
- 00:20:01you basically want to look for a work
- 00:20:04environment where the mission of the job
- 00:20:05or like the mission of the organization
- 00:20:08is clear. The dayto-day is dependable.
- 00:20:09So you're not like doing something
- 00:20:10completely crazy, completely different
- 00:20:13every day. And also your contributions
- 00:20:15actually help people or like actively or
- 00:20:17improving a system or like a structure
- 00:20:19that you believe in. So some roles that
- 00:20:20might match your personality type might
- 00:20:22include education, administration,
- 00:20:25policy work, or nonprofit strategy. You
- 00:20:26could also look into clinical roles in
- 00:20:28like public health, therapy, or
- 00:20:29community programs. Program management
- 00:20:31is good. And you can also look into
- 00:20:32compliance, ethics, or like governance
- 00:20:34roles, which are all, I'll be honest, in
- 00:20:36my opinion, they're like pretty slow,
- 00:20:38but it's like slow and meaningful work,
- 00:20:40which is exactly your archetype. Okay,
- 00:20:42moving on. If your top values are
- 00:20:44variety and alignment, then you're the
- 00:20:46archetype of the spontaneous romantic.
- 00:20:48So, if you're a spontaneous romantic,
- 00:20:50what you want from your work is meaning,
- 00:20:52but also variety. So, you want to feel
- 00:20:54emotionally connected to what you're
- 00:20:56doing, but at the same time, you
- 00:20:57constantly want to be challenged or
- 00:20:58creatively stretched, right? So, you're
- 00:21:00the type of person that moans and groans
- 00:21:02about monotony and routine and you
- 00:21:03really like ideas. You really like
- 00:21:06visuals, languages, people. Not always
- 00:21:07people, maybe not people. Sometimes
- 00:21:08people, you want to feel like what
- 00:21:10you're doing is meaningful and also that
- 00:21:11you're doing it creatively. So, this is
- 00:21:13the type of archetype that thrives in
- 00:21:14jobs which are like really expressive,
- 00:21:16really dynamic. They let you express
- 00:21:18yourself in a certain way. So, if you're
- 00:21:20a spontaneous romantic, some jobs that
- 00:21:21might be good for you, most creative
- 00:21:23roles are good. Writing, film making,
- 00:21:25storytelling, you might be interested in
- 00:21:27something to do with like identity or
- 00:21:28culture. That might be something that's
- 00:21:30inherent in your work, art direction or
- 00:21:32experience design, especially with
- 00:21:34something that has like a purpose behind
- 00:21:36the aesthetics of what you do. Or you
- 00:21:37might go into like multiddisciplinary
- 00:21:38work because that gives you enough
- 00:21:40variety and which might combine like
