00:00:03
title of the story, suddenly it becomes a
new word?
00:00:06
Coincidence, you may say now, BUT: When you
take the same D initial and put it in front
00:00:11
of Enies lobby that otherwise makes no fucking
sense, it suddenly becomes another English
00:00:16
word.
00:00:17
Denies.
00:00:18
Yeah, I know.
00:00:19
Blew my mind as well.
00:00:20
So now that I know you're gonna watch this
video till the end, let me tell you the crazy
00:00:23
story of how the Japanese one piece community
convinced me that the ancient kingdom was
00:00:28
part of Jaya, that it's now at the bottom
of the sea under enies lobby and that Skypea
00:00:33
and Dressrosa tell us what happened during
the void century.
00:00:36
At the end of this, I promise you you will
laugh as maniacally as I did when I found
00:00:41
out how in your face this all was all along.
00:00:44
No wonder that Roger laughed.
00:00:45
Here we go.
00:00:46
I'm so excited to share this.
00:00:58
In chapter 253 we learn that upper yard in
Skypea, actually used to be part of the island
00:01:03
Jaya down on sea level.
00:01:14
When you put both maps together, they form
a giant skull shaped island, with modern Jaya
00:01:20
being the teeth, and the legendary golden
city of shandora as the right eye.
00:01:25
Oh yeah, and there is a giant perfectly round
gaping hole, where the other eye is.
00:01:30
Why is no-one mentioning this.
00:01:32
There is an ancient city in the one eye and
the second eye looks like someone ripped out
00:01:37
the one piece of the island that made the
second eye of the skull.
00:01:41
Wait, one piece.
00:01:42
Are you telling me...
00:01:43
Yes!
00:01:44
This is also about the true nature of the
one piece and why Skypea was actually not
00:01:48
the least important, but THE most fucking
important arc in the story.
00:01:52
And we all didn't see it.
00:01:54
I stumbled across the center piece for this
theory, when doing research for my Enel video.
00:01:58
I came across this new Japanese one piece
Youtuber, called Yude Ron, who absolutely
00:02:02
rocks this draft punk mask here and who had
this crazy video about the true essence of
00:02:07
the one piece.
00:02:08
Since I luckily speak Japanese, I watched
it all and it blew my mind so damn hard I
00:02:15
think I just sat there for 5 minutes staring
at my pc.
00:02:19
For whatever reason this theory does just
not exist in the English speaking community,
00:02:24
so I asked him on twitter if he would be willing
to share his thought, and--got completely
00:02:29
ghosted.
00:02:30
He followed me back though.
00:02:31
Thanks [grin thumbs up]!
00:02:32
So, in good old pirate spirit I decided to
share with the people what belongs with the
00:02:37
people.
00:02:38
As a result, a big chunk of this video is
thanks to Yude Ron, but I of course also added
00:02:39
a lot of my own thoughts and ideas to this.
00:02:40
The first thing that absolutely caught me
by surprise, is how much more Oda seems to
00:02:43
play with words, numbers and letters than
we English speaking fans seem to realize.
00:02:48
Best example, that is also relevant for this
video, is one piece itself.
00:02:53
In Japanese One Piece, is written in the katakana
alphabet as Wanpiisu, but this is only on
00:02:59
top of an Japanese word:“hito-tsunagi daihiho”.
00:03:03
This usually is read as Hito Tsunagi, the
great treasure of the one piece, as in the
00:03:09
one piece of a whole.
00:03:10
Hito as in one.
00:03:12
However, this could also be read as Hito-tsunagi,
Hita as in humans, making it the treasure
00:03:17
that connects people, which of course one
piece is all about.
00:03:22
So, as I was saying, the core idea of this
theory, is that Jaya did not only lose a chunk
00:03:26
of its land once, when the upper yard was
catapulted into the sky by the knock up stream
00:03:31
400 years ago, but also 800 years ago, when
the city, located in the left eye was ripped
00:03:37
out in the war with the world government.
00:03:39
Which, when we look at the map, would theoretically
work right?
00:03:43
A city as the right eye and a city as the
left eye, making this island one ancient kingdom.
00:03:49
So what's my proof for this?
00:03:51
Oh, there is a lot.
00:03:53
First of all, the name of the series.
00:03:55
One Piece?
00:03:56
And there is exactly one piece missing in
this map?
00:03:59
If laugh tale itself was the one piece, missing
from the former ancient kingdom, That would
00:04:04
fit right?
00:04:05
No pun intended.
00:04:07
Then there is also a ton of small hints regarding
the left eye being hidden or destroyed.
00:04:13
In the cover of volume 27, Luffy has his left
eye closed, and I noticed that the same is
00:04:20
true for Robin in volume 24.
00:04:22
We also have Pedros missing left eye, shanks'
scary, luffy's scar, zoro's scar, and the
00:04:28
Jolly Roger of Doflamingo, a former celestial
dragon, where the skull's left eye is literally
00:04:33
stoked out.
00:04:34
At this point I was like, 'yeah okay that's
nice and all, but if that's all--, Oh, but
00:04:35
there is so much more.
00:04:36
We're just getting started here.
00:04:37
The volumes surrounding the Sykpea arc are
actually some of the most critical in the
00:04:40
entire story.
00:04:41
Tons of important characters get introduced
here.
00:04:43
We meet Blackbeard, and learn about the importance
of dreams.
00:04:46
We meet Bellamy and Doflamingo, who are also
extremely relevant to this Theory.
00:04:50
And we see the meetings of shanks and whitebeaerd
as well as ace and buggy, all of which are
00:04:55
closely connected to Roger, who by the way
decides to leave a little message on the poneglyph
00:05:00
in shandora out of all places.
00:05:03
But the person most connected to Roger in
a way, that we meet in this arc is Mont Blanc
00:05:09
Noland.
00:05:10
He is a direct parallel to Roger, and their
connection is a big hint that jaya was the
00:05:15
ancient kingdom and that laugh tale is the
missing part.
00:05:20
Think about it!
00:05:25
Noland is basically, over, but inverted.
00:05:29
Both of them were powerful free-spirited adventures.
00:05:33
This panel here, where only Nolan can hear
the voice of the bell, strongly suggest that
00:05:37
just like luffy and Roger, he had the voices
of all things.
00:05:41
Both of them found legendary places, shandora
and laugh tale.
00:05:45
Both came back with no evidence and Both were
sentenced to death and executed.
00:05:50
However, here the things start to invert each
other.
00:05:54
While Nolan was deemed a liar for his speech,
Roger sparked a new era of piracy.
00:05:59
Noland didn't know the way back to shandora,
but Roger did know the way to laugh tale.
00:06:04
Noland cried, while Roger laughed.
00:06:06
And Nolan told the truth, as the city of gold
was real, while Roger lied, as the core of
00:06:13
the one piece is not gold and silver.
00:06:16
Given all these parallels, wouldn't it make
a lot of sense that Nolan found the city of
00:06:20
the right eye, while Roger found the one of
the left?
00:06:23
In Mock town, at the beginning of the arc,
Bellamy makes fun of dreamers and says that
00:06:28
the era of dreams is over.
00:06:30
He explicitly names the golden city and the
one piece as two such delusions.
00:06:35
And yet, the arc ends with Luffy ringing the
golden bell, proving that the golden city
00:06:41
was there all along.
00:07:00
Well wouldn't it be extremely fitting, even
ironic, if the one piece, in other words,
00:07:05
the lost city, used to be in the very same
spot, that Bellamy used to make fun of both?
00:07:13
Further, Robin explicitly states that there
is no doubt that this city, Sandra, fought
00:07:18
against the enemy.
00:07:23
Well, if shandora was part of the kingdom,
that would only be logical then wouldn't it?
00:07:33
Not only as an ally, but as part of the whole.
00:07:36
Also, we can't ignore the fact, that SHandora,
is the only place we know of, where the ancient
00:07:41
script found on the poneglyphs is used as
the regular writing system found on the buildings
00:07:47
there.
00:07:48
Since we now know that the Kozuki clan were
the ones who created the poneglyphs for the
00:07:52
ancient kingdom, and that this script is used
very casually here, wouldn't the easiest explanation
00:07:58
be, that shandora was part of the ancient
kingdom?
00:08:01
Wouldn't that also explain why the sun god,
who we know know as Nika is heavily referenced
00:08:08
here by the people?
00:08:09
We even see luffy in the exact same pose as
him.
00:08:13
And doesn't Nika also remind you a bit of
the shandies soldiers?
00:08:17
And since both Nika and joy boy, names associated
with laughter, quite possibly describe the
00:08:22
very same person from 800 years ago, wouldn't
it make sense, that these traditions live
00:08:27
on Jaya when it was once one big kingdom?
00:08:30
Oh, I thought, but the sun isn't the only
majorly important symbol in the story.
00:08:37
One of the most consistently returning themes
in one piece is also the moon.
00:08:43
It's everywhere, and I can't even begin to
count all the significant things that have
00:08:48
happened under a full moon in the story.
00:08:50
The Sun and the moon, obviously go hand in
hand in pretty much any mythology.
00:08:54
On Zou, another ally of the ancient kingdom,
we even have guardians of the night and day
00:08:59
with nekomamushi and inuarashi.
00:09:01
So wouldn't it make sense for the right city
to be the city of the sun and the left the
00:09:07
city of the moon?
00:09:13
Which by the way is part of the Kozuki heritage,
and whose crest is pretty much the same as
00:09:24
the shandians.
00:09:25
And while I was thinking this, I found this
color spread of chapter 269, where we see
00:09:30
the Straw hats in a place looking suspicious
like Wano, surrounded by the birds from the
00:09:36
Kozuki crest.
00:09:37
Oh and by the way, the Kozuki crest also has
cross bones, but no skull.
00:09:42
This is 269.
00:09:44
The last panel of chapter 268 is this.
00:09:50
Yeah.
00:09:52
Coincidence?
00:09:54
The inscription on the pillar that robin reads
in the ruins says: We are the ones who weave
00:09:59
history with the reverberations of the great
bell.
00:10:02
C'mon.
00:10:03
We are the ones wbo Weave history?
00:10:04
Clearly the Kozuki.
00:10:06
And it also reminds me of the verse from binks
sake that says: Sayonara minato, Tsumugi no
00:10:12
sato yo.
00:10:13
Goodbye harbor of the spinning village.
00:10:16
On top of that I then remembered, that the
shandians came down from the moon to jaya
00:10:21
with very advanced technology, making them
the perfect candidates to be part of an ancient
00:10:28
Next up, is a part that I completely got from
Yuderon, that changed my perspective on Oda's
00:10:33
writing completely.
00:10:34
According to him, Oda absolutely loves playing
with the numbers of the chapters to either
00:10:40
describe what happens in the chapter or hide
a message.
00:10:44
One really interesting and way to specific
date that Oda gives us in the story is the
00:10:49
12th of MAY 1122, the day Noland discovers
Jaya.
00:10:54
Oda never gives us dates for anything, so
why now.
00:10:59
The date in japanese is written as, year,
month ,day, so 1122, 5 , 12.
00:11:06
Now, if you take the individual numbers and
their pronunciation from both Japanese and
00:11:10
English you get this.
00:11:12
Hi to tsu ni ko ko ni iru.
00:11:16
One is here.
00:11:17
Interestingly the volume title of 31, is also
kokoniiru.
00:11:22
I am right here.
00:11:24
Is this the one piece literally telling us
it's right here?
00:11:27
The next date we get is the 16th of November
1127, when sahndora gets knocked into the
00:11:34
sky.
00:11:39
Same game.
00:11:40
This time we get: Hitotsunagi ininto rodoroku.
00:11:42
Do you remember?
00:11:43
Hitotsunagi, is the one piece.
00:11:46
And inin is the sound of a bell.
00:11:48
Thus this date reads: The one piece roars
with the reverberation of a bell.
00:11:53
The bell coincidentally being part of the
unfulfilled promised to Noland to ring the
00:11:57
bell, that was then inherited over generations
until luffy fulfilled it.
00:12:03
Another promise that was unfulfilled and inherited
to future generations was that of joy boy
00:12:09
00:12:17
So when you subtract another 400 years back
to the void century from Nolan's two dates
00:12:23
400 years ago, 1122 and 1127 minus 400, you
get the years 722 and 727.
00:12:30
The first possibly marking the promise by
joy boy to the princess and the second the
00:12:37
year of the destruction of the ancient kingdom.
00:12:39
I know we'Re really deep into this all right
now, but stay with me, because what came next
00:12:45
blew my mind.
00:12:46
When you take these two numbers 722 and 727
and look at the corresponding chapters, you
00:12:52
don't get some random stuff happening.
00:12:55
No. 722 is the reveal that Doflamingo is a
celestial dragon.
00:13:00
In this chapter, he tells law about how the
twenty kings created the World Government.
00:13:05
Nineteen of the twenty families decided to
move to Mary Geoise, the Nefertari family
00:13:09
being the only one who did not go.
00:13:11
The descendants of the kings, the World Nobles,
still live there today.
00:13:16
This meant nineteen countries had to elect
new royalty and new families were established.
00:13:22
He says that the new ruling family in Dressrosa
was the Riku Family, while the family that
00:13:27
left for Mary Geoise was the Donquixote Family.
00:13:32
Anything else that might be interesting happening
in this chapter?
00:13:34
Oh yeah, we have a literal golden bell ringing
in closeup.
00:13:39
You think that was all?
00:13:41
Huh.
00:13:42
Remember Giolla and her great art skills?
00:13:44
Yeah me neither, but look at this abstract
master piece of hers.
00:13:53
A giant gate with two eyes, the left, bright
like the sun is open, the other dark like
00:14:00
the night is crying.
00:14:01
I think I don't have to spell this one out
for you right?
00:14:04
This might well represent the ancient kingdom
being destroyed and ripped out of jaya.
00:14:09
All while brook is playing music on top of
it.
00:14:15
And after defeating Giolla he even says this:
- Meanwhile, the straw hats and tontata start
00:14:30
the battle to restore the honor of the fallen
king and remain their freedom.
00:14:35
Chapter 727 meanwhile, where the fight in
block D!!
00:14:39
Continues.
00:14:41
Hemhem, we hear the story of Doflamingo taking
over the country by staging king Riku and
00:14:47
his men going against their own people.
00:14:59
The wordplay for this chapter number is chi
ni ochiru.
00:15:02
Falling to the ground.
00:15:04
Not only how dressrosa fell, but also how
the ancient kingdom fell?
00:15:08
giolla even says that her cryptic art represents
the tragedy of dressroas.
00:15:13
So also the tragedy of the ancient kingdom?
00:15:15
Now, you might say, if Dressrosa is a representation
of the fall of the ancient kingdom, what connection
00:15:23
is there between, shandora and dressrosa?
00:15:25
- Oh right, this is rhetorical question.
00:15:29
The connection is this: - [Noland Statue]
The chapter where noalnd find out that shandora
00:15:37
has vanished, while Kalgara waits for Nolands
promised return is chapter 292, titled 'like
00:15:44
the half moon hidden by the clouds'.
00:15:47
Again the symbol of the moon, that we can
also find on Nolands ship in the chapter.
00:15:51
And the wordplay for this one is tsuki ni,
two moons.
00:15:55
In other words, two half moons making a whole?
00:16:00
Making it the sun?
00:16:01
Wouldnt it also make a lot of sense that the
D is actually a half moon?
00:16:06
800 years ago the people of the sun were overthrown
and the done piece became the one piece.
00:16:12
A circle became half a circle and eventually
a letter.
00:16:17
The will of D then, being to be made one whole
again?
00:16:20
Becoming the sun?
00:16:22
Becoming the sun?
00:16:23
Okay, I thought to myself at this point, this
already makes way to much sense.
00:16:28
But now on to the biggest mystery of it all:
Why do I think that the one piece and or laugh
00:16:34
tale is at Enies Lobby?
00:16:43
That Enies Lobby by the way, who's main villain
is called Rob Lucci, the one who steals the
00:16:52
light.
00:16:53
Just saying.
00:16:54
So, we have one piece, that when adding the
D to it gives us a done piece.
00:16:59
The first thing that connects enies lobby
to this, is that it also takes a d.
00:17:03
Huh.
00:17:04
Suddenly Enies becomes Denies.
00:17:09
Denies what?
00:17:12
It's probably more of a who.
00:17:15
Enies Lobby is one of the most freakish places
we have ever visited.
00:17:23
It
is one of the central government facilities,
00:17:31
but it makes no sense that they would hold
their mock trials on an extra island instead
00:17:35
of at impel down.
00:17:36
It never gets dark there.
00:17:37
We have the enormous gate of justice, that
no-one ever seems to bother to explain.
00:17:38
Oh and what the fuck is with the giant hole
in the middle of the ocean?
00:17:42
The moment I looked at ENies Lobby's Map,
it just made a lot of sense that this might
00:17:47
have been the missing piece in the jaya map,
that we are looking for.
00:17:51
Shape wise it absolutely fits.
00:17:53
I also wondered, if these weird ancient structures
on top of the island had any meaning, but
00:18:00
it doesn't seem like they do.
00:18:02
Could it be that this is the actual ancient
kingdom?
00:18:06
The missing link that we were looking for?
00:18:08
And the government just built it's own stuff
o the island?
00:18:11
Is that why they parade all pirates they capture
over this island?
00:18:15
As a forgotten tradition to remember their
victory over the pirate kingdom they fought
00:18:19
against?
00:18:20
It's called the island of justice after all.
00:18:23
Shihou no Shima in Japanese.
00:18:26
And here I'm a little proud of myself, because
I wondered that if there were multiple meaning
00:18:31
to the word for one piece, there might be
more to this as well.
00:18:35
Here is what the dictionary told me: Shihou,
obviously with different kanji combinations,
00:18:41
can also mean: 1.
00:18:43
4 directions, 2.
00:18:45
Secret information and 3 greatest treasure.
00:18:48
[Rubs face and eyes] So we have the island
of 4 directions, just like the 4 road poneglyphs
00:18:54
you need to find laugh tale.
00:18:55
The island of secret information, just as
the true history located on Laugh tale.
00:19:00
And finally the island of the greatest treasure,
the one piece itself.
00:19:05
Thus, the government has made this one of
the most guarded places in the world, where
00:19:10
no one can sneak in during darkness, no-one
can escape from without opening the gates
00:19:15
of justice and that is directly connected
to impel down and marijoe itself.
00:19:21
Entering the island for Luffy means declaring
war on the world government itself.
00:19:31
It's an island that D-enies entrance to the
D, the sworn enemies of the gods.
00:19:37
And since enies lobby is the arc directly
after skypea, wouldn't it be a classic Oda
00:19:42
move for the missing piece to be right there.
00:19:44
And the straw hats literally come to save
the one person that can figure out the true
00:19:50
nature of this place.
00:19:51
It's all about Robin and her unique ability
to read the ancient script and her search
00:19:56
for the truth.
00:19:57
And how the government is covering it all
up.
00:20:00
Hell, don't forget it's here that we first
learn about the ancient kingdom itself.
00:20:05
However, clearly the one piece is not in a
town full of marines.
00:20:10
So where is it?
00:20:12
Only one way to go.
00:20:14
Down.
00:20:15
Remember the inverted stories of Roger and
Noland?
00:20:18
Nolands city of dreams was pushed into the
sky.
00:20:20
Well, what if Rogers island got dropped to
the bottom of the sea?
00:20:26
Is there any indication that something might
be at the bottom of pennies lobby?
00:20:30
- WHAT?
00:20:31
The wordplay from chapter 727 was falling
to the ground.
00:20:37
Did Laugh tale literally fall to the ground?
00:20:39
I believe so.
00:20:41
I believe that Enies lobby itself is the missing
city from jaya and that under the floating
00:20:46
island is the island of laugh tale and the
one piece.
00:20:50
Just like the hidden world under dressrosa.
00:20:52
No wonder that Roger laughed when he reached
laugh tale.
00:20:55
He had literally been to the ancient kingdom
before and passed by laugh tale many times,
00:21:01
right in front of everyones noses.
00:21:03
And the ultimate piece of proof I have for
this are Rogers last words at his execution.
00:21:17
- Again the secret lies in the Japanese version.
00:21:20
A word play in true Oda fashion.
00:21:22
He says 'kono you no subete wo soko ni oite
kita'.
00:21:27
I left everything in this world Soko.
00:21:30
Soko in Japanese meaning there.
00:21:32
However it also has a second meaning.
00:21:36
Soko means bottom.
00:21:39
In other words,The second meaning of rogers
last words is: I left everything in this world
00:21:45
at the bottom.
