- 00:00:26Legends my father and my mother are the
- 00:00:29Swedish people people in the world but
- 00:00:31are so far from this scene those people
- 00:00:34are just a little bit a little bit
- 00:00:36different than in the way they think um
- 00:00:40more traditional you know I'm more like
- 00:00:42a let's say like a businessman and
- 00:00:45Entertainer and and and my father and my
- 00:00:48mother are not like that at all the
- 00:00:50thing is that my father worked for a
- 00:00:53boss for all his life you know so of
- 00:00:57course his son needs to do the same
- 00:00:59because you get solid money you know
- 00:01:01there's there's an income and no stress
- 00:01:04and it's going good so yeah my parents
- 00:01:06were um this hardworking guy and a
- 00:01:10housewife and then suddenly you have a
- 00:01:13son uh who wants to perform on stage and
- 00:01:18wants to travel the world with his music
- 00:01:20it's it's completely different but I was
- 00:01:23always like no this is uh what I want to
- 00:01:26do you know it's like I feel that this
- 00:01:28is my pth you know
- 00:01:30I was searching for some some some
- 00:01:33things that were similar and of course
- 00:01:35my uh my father he was playing as a as a
- 00:01:39drummer on in the streets and my mother
- 00:01:42uh is is still a country
- 00:01:47dancer
- 00:01:49I

- 00:02:05[Music]
- 00:02:09I bought a
- 00:02:17b so yeah so my brother is older and uh
- 00:02:20he uh he was a DJ in his bedroom he was
- 00:02:25uh playing uh at radio stations local
- 00:02:27radio stations Etc and uh I was I was
- 00:02:31interested you know I was a small
- 00:02:32brother uh looking at all the all the DJ
- 00:02:36gear uh but I was more interested in how
- 00:02:40they make the music than playing the
- 00:02:41music so I was like but but okay but you
- 00:02:44play the music but there is somebody who
- 00:02:47who made this you know and that was that
- 00:02:50triggered me you
- 00:02:55know yeah jump was big in Belgium back
- 00:02:59in the day
- 00:03:00uh basically it was the uh the leading
- 00:03:03harder style sound in Belgium so so it
- 00:03:06was dominating and uh I'm from Belgium
- 00:03:08so I rolled into that scene and I was
- 00:03:10like okay I know how to make this and so
- 00:03:13I started making making jump when I was
- 00:03:16still very young you know and um um
- 00:03:20luckily there was no other big act doing
- 00:03:24that in Belgium back then so at at first
- 00:03:28you had in in in turnout where I where I
- 00:03:31was born uh and I still live by the way
- 00:03:36um you had tough music which was a big
- 00:03:38uh big uh DJ store you know and they
- 00:03:42were starting up their uh their record
- 00:03:44label as well Zoo records and uh so I I
- 00:03:48was like hey this is a great demo listen
- 00:03:50to it and they did and they sent me a
- 00:03:53contract back uh and together with my
- 00:03:55best buddy Maran from Bas events now the
- 00:03:58owner of B events H he he was like no
- 00:04:01you cannot just sign this contract I
- 00:04:04need to get deeper into the contract cuz
- 00:04:07they're gonna [ __ ] you
- 00:04:27[Music]
- 00:04:28over
- 00:04:52and we got back with the with the let's
- 00:04:56say the contract that was all written in
- 00:04:59in red uh pen all over you know like
- 00:05:03this is not good and we want don't want
- 00:05:04this but we were we were just like [ __ ]
- 00:05:07[ __ ] little kids you know so we we
- 00:05:09didn't know what what what was up and um
- 00:05:13yeah so so they were like what what is
- 00:05:16this what is this guy talking about so
- 00:05:18the deal went off and then I went to a
- 00:05:21um to effective music guys who released
- 00:05:23also Arun 16 back in the days which was
- 00:05:27uh artstock classic and that's where my
- 00:05:30first relase uh yeah is on Kao was was
- 00:05:35was laughing his ass off when he
- 00:05:37received the contract back uh and then
- 00:05:39years after uh because the relationship
- 00:05:43with with the current uh record label
- 00:05:46back then was wasn't that good so that's
- 00:05:48why I moved to hman
- 00:05:53again the return
- 00:05:56onet uh in the plat and the
- 00:06:00Gym style PL and um was so good that
- 00:06:06was yeah an hit I got something for your
- 00:06:09mind your body and your
- 00:06:24soul I got something for your mind your
- 00:06:26body and your soul the kind of jump
- 00:06:28style I was doing
- 00:06:30was so far off from what other jump
- 00:06:33style artists were doing I was looking
- 00:06:36for the quality you know and there were
- 00:06:38some guys who I'm not going to name any
- 00:06:42any artist but but some of them were
- 00:06:44like yeah let's just put a hard kick on
- 00:06:46it let's put like a sound that we
- 00:06:48sampled somewhere from I don't know from
- 00:06:50kunon or whatever it was frustrating to
- 00:06:52see that they over
- 00:06:55commercialized uh the style once again
- 00:06:58because I was trying to protect the
- 00:07:00quality um you got the you know the the
- 00:07:04dance uh the jump Style dance which
- 00:07:07which is okay by the way but they yeah a
- 00:07:11lot of big companies saw money fast
- 00:07:13money not not long-term but fast money
- 00:07:15and and they they they yeah they signed
- 00:07:19contracts with with with with dancers
- 00:07:21and with you know very commercial
- 00:07:24artists and uh artists that weren't
- 00:07:27doing jump Style
- 00:07:30uh before you know so it was the it it
- 00:07:33didn't F uh it didn't feel very good you
- 00:07:37know and um um I was I was just feeling
- 00:07:42that heart style the quality that heart
- 00:07:44style was after wasn't happening in Jump
- 00:08:12and so I told like hey um I'm not
- 00:08:16feeling it with Zoo records anymore I
- 00:08:19want to do my own thing is there an
- 00:08:20option I can get my own record label um
- 00:08:24and that was Dirty Works yeah
- 00:08:31[Music]
- 00:08:42PR
- 00:09:06sucess gy Tex stle and the rest
- 00:09:10was heart style heart dance
- 00:09:39well yeah of course I was resident in a
- 00:09:42club called complex which was basically
- 00:09:44the the leading harder Styles Club in
- 00:09:48Belgium back then I had some awesome
- 00:09:50nights there you know my birthday bashes
- 00:09:52were [ __ ] awesome and uh uh after a
- 00:09:56while I was doing goon and a gang in in
- 00:09:59in Sport Palace in an worp which was
- 00:10:01basically also a jump style uh event
- 00:10:05with some hard style acts attached like
- 00:10:09hatun for example or Isaac or you know
- 00:10:12deepack um de block and asan as well uh
- 00:10:16yeah so
- 00:10:17so how was that it was it was huge in
- 00:10:21Belgium it was it was back then if if if
- 00:10:25somebody who was in in 2007 man that's a
- 00:10:29long long time ago and then you can sell
- 00:10:30out the Sport Palace which is like
- 00:10:3330,000 people something like that for
- 00:10:36such a young guy it's insane it's insane
- 00:10:38cuz like TV media they didn't know who
- 00:10:41[ __ ] was they didn't know they were like
- 00:10:44who's this guy and he selling how the
- 00:10:45sport P yeah because the scene is so
- 00:10:47[ __ ] underground so [ __ ] huge
- 00:10:50please [ __ ] off
- 00:10:56[Music]
- 00:11:06[Music]
- 00:11:20yeah the first time my father uh saw me
- 00:11:24in the sport BS by the way um yeah there
- 00:11:27were some tears
- 00:11:29there were some tears I can obvious saw
- 00:11:32that but um but of course he's too tough
- 00:11:35to admit it was a struggle to convince
- 00:11:37them because um because my father is
- 00:11:40obviously not a fan of the music it's
- 00:11:43too hard it's too aggressive whatever
- 00:11:46being an artist an Entertainer a
- 00:11:49producer earning money money with music
- 00:11:53it's no you cannot earn money with music
- 00:11:56you need to go you know be a lawyer or
- 00:11:59be uh I don't know work in the
- 00:12:01construction or whatever you know so
- 00:12:04yeah it took a while before they saw it
- 00:12:05with their own eyes but now they're like
- 00:12:08yeah they're they're proud you
- 00:12:14know at first I was an outsider of
- 00:12:17course cuz um yeah a lot of a lot of new
- 00:12:20Acts were um was were um making their
- 00:12:24way you know for example William Head
- 00:12:27Hunters was doing that whil us was doing
- 00:12:29that Brandon Hart uh frontliner yeah you
- 00:12:32know those those those Dutch acts
- 00:12:35and and then this Belgium dude came you
- 00:12:38know at first at first also my hard
- 00:12:40style tracks if you listen carefully
- 00:12:42they were not jump style they were not
- 00:12:44hard style they were something in
- 00:12:45between so I get that a lot of them were
- 00:12:48like who is he and you know but uh me
- 00:12:51being me I guess uh my pet was forward
- 00:12:55and I didn't care about a lot of uh a
- 00:12:58lot of negativity so um so yeah I just
- 00:13:02did my thing I already noticed that when
- 00:13:04he was playing drum Style music that
- 00:13:06yeah he's always like a guy that uh is
- 00:13:09hungry for more for the next thing to do
- 00:13:12so um yeah because basically in Jump
- 00:13:15Style music he had done it all already
- 00:13:19so I noticed this very uh uh very early
- 00:13:24on that uh you know he had his mind set
- 00:13:28uh uh his next goal was to uh you know
- 00:13:32get into the heart style scene and uh do
- 00:13:35his thing uh over there and Conquer new
- 00:13:38new new projects doing new stuff you
- 00:13:41know yeah I think in the beginning it
- 00:13:43was pretty you know tough for him to get
- 00:13:47accepted in some way it was it was a
- 00:13:50roller coaster by the way cuz you're
- 00:13:52you're going from a jump style DJ in
- 00:13:54Belgium you're suddenly Doing Hard style
- 00:13:58uh you lose a lot of jump fans uh but
- 00:14:02you gain a lot of hardstyle fans uh and
- 00:14:05and and that that that whole transition
- 00:14:08of getting into that hardstyle scene of
- 00:14:10course was a was a bit of a struggle
- 00:14:13suddenly I I I became good friends with
- 00:14:16dblock and estan for example we went to
- 00:14:18um uh to Center Parks or or on a small
- 00:14:21vacation together also with fillan and
- 00:14:24with deep and uh and then and then
- 00:14:28suddenly you you you um you you're not
- 00:14:30colleagues anymore but you're almost
- 00:14:32friends and then that's what the point
- 00:14:34when they started to um uh yeah accept
- 00:14:39me yeah let's let's put it that way you
- 00:14:41know and uh yeah so words from the gang
- 00:14:44is one of my um uh yeah one of my
- 00:14:47Classics I guess it was one of the first
- 00:14:50tracks uh in the deblock and haapan
- 00:14:52remix which was um picked up by a lot of
- 00:14:56heart style acts and um my first version
- 00:15:00of course is a jump version uh because
- 00:15:03it was also attached to [ __ ] and the
- 00:15:05Gang uh in the Sport Palace in
- 00:15:072007 so um so yeah it was um it was the
- 00:15:11first track that that they they they
- 00:15:14appreciated um at least the hardstyle
- 00:15:18lovers appreciated so and that's how I
- 00:15:20tried to push myself into the into that
- 00:15:23scene uh and it it worked you know it
- 00:15:26worked after a while I was I was getting
- 00:15:29good in my at my own heart style solo
- 00:15:33releases as well from that point
- 00:15:36they let's say the heart sty lovers
- 00:15:38worldwide started uh accepting
- 00:15:41[Music]
- 00:15:55me after evading the clutches of the law

- 00:17:20we made it hey
- 00:17:22Mike where we going California baby
- 00:17:27[Music]
- 00:17:36the funny thing is of course we had an
- 00:17:39amazing time and we did so many fun
- 00:17:42stuff in the USA uh but the actual party
- 00:17:45was kind of yeah [ __ ] to say because
- 00:17:49yeah we have been uh yeah so much
- 00:17:53looking forward to to play for uh uh for
- 00:17:56the Americans what we going to do
- 00:17:58tonight
- 00:18:00we're going to play some hard [ __ ] you
- 00:18:01know 150 bpm those guys I think go was
- 00:18:05pretty fast but let me show the guys how
- 00:18:09do how do we do it you see the first gig
- 00:18:12you're booked for and you're like oh no
- 00:18:15this is not that rock and roll that we
- 00:18:17thought it would be you know um for us
- 00:18:20it was USA was America let's do this but
- 00:18:24it was an illegal Rave and they shut it
- 00:18:26down they they were they were big uh
- 00:18:29ghetto Birds that's how they call it um
- 00:18:32police obviously and and suddenly you
- 00:18:36know the whole [ __ ] uh area was like
- 00:18:39uh people you saw people going through
- 00:18:41uh through uh holes and stuff like that
- 00:18:45and and me and fillan were okay we we
- 00:18:49Haven we haven't played yet um there are
- 00:18:52no people anymore where are the
- 00:18:53promoters in a way it was rock and roll
- 00:18:56but it was not kind of rock and roll we
- 00:18:58expected you
- 00:19:04[Music]
- 00:19:21know the label will make some goddamn no
- 00:19:30listen up guys I just want to say this
- 00:19:32in 2008 the psycho punks joined our
- 00:19:36label in
- 00:19:382010 the Tweakers joined our label in
- 00:19:412012 Mr hard driver CH their
- 00:19:45label so now I want to show some
- 00:19:48appreciation Q dance dirty works thank
- 00:19:51you guys very much I love you guys some
- 00:19:54guys mailed me or whatever um cuzz
- 00:19:57they're they're doing hardstyle in
- 00:19:59Norway and we were searching of course
- 00:20:01for um yeah new countries you know we we
- 00:20:05didn't want to focus on on Belgium the
- 00:20:08Netherlands France Germany so we were
- 00:20:10like okay Norway this could be something
- 00:20:13and I heard the tracks and to be honest
- 00:20:16I was not feeling it at all I was I
- 00:20:20was they made such uh such a different
- 00:20:24kind of hard style but
- 00:20:26then uh I was like okay but I also was
- 00:20:30an outsider I made jump before I made
- 00:20:33hard style so uh why not let's give it a
- 00:20:36shot yeah so we were living in Norway uh
- 00:20:39at the beginning of our hard style
- 00:20:41career and we did not have a lot of
- 00:20:43influence from other DJs because we be
- 00:20:46at that point we were pretty much the
- 00:20:48only hardstyle dj/ producers in Norway
- 00:20:52and we for some reason we were
- 00:20:54registered on party flock and back then
- 00:20:57as far as we know that was the site for
- 00:20:59events in Holland and Belgium and
- 00:21:02whatnot and then I remember Marcus came
- 00:21:04over and he's like I got this weird
- 00:21:06inbox message uh on party flock yeah it
- 00:21:09said base events I remember
- 00:21:10distinctively it said Bas events and
- 00:21:12said hi guys uh somebody tipped me about
- 00:21:15you guys they called you the next noise
- 00:21:17controllers uh I would like to is there
- 00:21:19a possibility for me to come to Norway
- 00:21:21and visit you so we can talk about maybe
- 00:21:23signing you cuz we have a new vision for
- 00:21:25our label Dirty Works and at first the
- 00:21:28first thing when when you're a young DJ
- 00:21:31you think oh who this is this is big and
- 00:21:34then you start thinking and think it's a
- 00:21:36scam cuz who's what's base events we did
- 00:21:39not know about Dirty Works we did not
- 00:21:41know about [ __ ] we did not know about
- 00:21:43rever or anything because we were used
- 00:21:45to going to all the Q dance events so
- 00:21:48when he came over um he just to check
- 00:21:50the vibe cuz that's what they did and he
- 00:21:52was talking about uh they just signed uh
- 00:21:55psychop punks and uh I think think [ __ ]
- 00:21:59was in the transition of being a jump DJ
- 00:22:02and now transitioning into being the
- 00:22:04hardstyle DJ because I remember he was
- 00:22:06asking us um if we knew anything about
- 00:22:09Belgian jump music and we both were like
- 00:22:12no nothing we never heard about [ __ ]
- 00:22:15maybe we heard a few tracks we heard a
- 00:22:17words from the gang he came over and it
- 00:22:20literally was just the the the beginning
- 00:22:22of the best collaboration um that we've
- 00:22:25had it was a good click and when he left
- 00:22:28on Sunday super hung over after partying
- 00:22:31with us he said by the way guys welcome
- 00:22:33to Dirty Works and then the bowl started
- 00:22:36rolling um and I feel like as soon as
- 00:22:39they saw the potential you know they
- 00:22:40just literally said we're just going to
- 00:22:42let you be you uh we did have a few
- 00:22:46years where we sent in demos of our
- 00:22:49tracks to Dirty Works and uh uh H and
- 00:22:53Marine and also [ __ ] would uh give us
- 00:22:57feedback and say we feel that you should
- 00:22:59change this and this and this and we
- 00:23:02said dear everybody
- 00:23:06no this is what we do so H and at some
- 00:23:10point they just you know what we feel
- 00:23:12that you guys know what you guys are
- 00:23:14doing you do what you do best let the
- 00:23:16Tweakers be the Tweakers and it's been
- 00:23:18the the TR the same trust ever since and
- 00:23:21that's also why Dirty Works is that
- 00:23:24diverse now we don't want to put uh the
- 00:23:27artist into a box because we just let
- 00:23:30them
- 00:23:31be who they want to be as artists you
- 00:23:34know and uh so so and and and of course
- 00:23:37the Tweakers is is is is proof that that
- 00:23:39it all turned out good Dirty Works was
- 00:23:42getting really big I was doing the an
- 00:23:44anr for years um listening to demos and
- 00:23:48being um uh at every meeting and blah
- 00:23:52blah blah doing the events and and stuff
- 00:23:55but cou was also getting really big you
- 00:23:57know more worldwide outside of Europe
- 00:24:00and and let's say the last few years I
- 00:24:02was not really focused not during the
- 00:24:05meetings or the anr was not going the
- 00:24:08way I was like okay who is this track at
- 00:24:11oh who is this artist at skand tracks
- 00:24:13yeah you had this demo like months ago
- 00:24:16you know so I was not really focused uh
- 00:24:19anymore and that's when I decided to
- 00:24:22just um leave Dirty Works um you know um
- 00:24:27it's it's my baby you know I'm the
- 00:24:29founder but I'm not the owner now I
- 00:24:32think it's it's not um um you shouldn't
- 00:24:36do that anymore cuz Dirty Works right
- 00:24:38now it's a machine of so many talented
- 00:24:41people um I'm not going to um give
- 00:24:45myself the credits anymore I'm the
- 00:24:47founder it's my baby it's in my heart uh
- 00:24:50but um uh I decided years ago to focus
- 00:24:54on [ __ ] at some point um it turned uh
- 00:25:05[Music]
- 00:25:08worldwide you're my Superman Superman
- 00:25:15[Applause]
- 00:25:24[Music]
- 00:25:25[Applause]
- 00:25:42suddenly Asia was was doing things and
- 00:25:45then South America was doing things she
- 00:25:47had some awesome events in in in Chile
- 00:25:50for example also with Q dance and stuff
- 00:25:53and um and it was like whoa what what's
- 00:25:57happening you know and uh
- 00:25:59if we still want to get bigger as a as
- 00:26:03artists I cannot do this [ __ ] on my own
- 00:26:05you know I need somebody to you know to
- 00:26:08guide me and and actually from the first
- 00:26:10moment we met we really had a like a
- 00:26:12good
- 00:26:13connection um where as a booing agent I
- 00:26:17kind of felt like I would be more
- 00:26:19interested even in intensifying the
- 00:26:22collaboration on a management level
- 00:26:24purely due to the fact that we really
- 00:26:26had the same ideas and vision
- 00:26:28about [ __ ] as an artist and Heartstone
- 00:26:31in general and from there actually I
- 00:26:34became his manager but [ __ ] always was
- 00:26:37really had a vision where he wanted to
- 00:26:39come like go in his career the steps he
- 00:26:41wanted to take and I think mainly he
- 00:26:46needed
- 00:26:47that business support like the
- 00:26:50management role where he be was the
- 00:26:52artist and I was the manager and
- 00:26:54together we would try to accomplish his
- 00:26:58goals as a DJ goon always had this
- 00:27:02mission of telling his musical story to
- 00:27:06his fans he wanted to share instead of
- 00:27:09like he just wanted to be on stage now
- 00:27:11he wanted to share what he feels for the
- 00:27:12music and you can hear it back in his
- 00:27:14music the lyrics When [ __ ] released his
- 00:27:17album Global dedication this was a
- 00:27:20collaboration between DX St yoki's label
- 00:27:23and dirty works for a lot of fans it was
- 00:27:25kind of like What's Happening Here Right
- 00:27:28just to be clear it was a fullon
- 00:27:29hardstyle album cuz that was the whole
- 00:27:32idea [ __ ] did not collaborate with Steve
- 00:27:35Aoki because he wanted to go just around
- 00:27:37the world now he wanted that hard copy
- 00:27:39CD with hardell to go worldwide Global
- 00:27:43dedication the same Dedication that we
- 00:27:46already knew for years here in Holland
- 00:27:48in Belgium Europe at one point after
- 00:27:51that whole demac and Steve Aoki uh story
- 00:27:54I was losing Touch of of the of the fan
- 00:27:57base you know and um
- 00:27:59um I I'm still very honored that qan
- 00:28:03came with with uh with Devcon uh with
- 00:28:06the anthem cuz that um at least for me
- 00:28:09it felt like that was um it was re
- 00:28:13reignited uh with with with you know
- 00:28:15with the core again and uh I'm really
- 00:28:18glad that I did that cuz after that you
- 00:28:20know uh things started to to to take
- 00:28:24shape again you know
- 00:28:31I was getting tired of um the big acts
- 00:28:35on the main stage playing one or two
- 00:28:38tracks uh hardstyle tracks uh at the end
- 00:28:41of their set I was like okay this is a
- 00:28:44gimmick which is cool you know cuz they
- 00:28:46play our tracks uh but um after a few
- 00:28:50years um I was like okay we lost the
- 00:28:54gimmick here it's time to put a real
- 00:28:56hardstyle act on that main stage so I
- 00:28:59sent m a text message like hey hey let's
- 00:29:03get rid of the gimmick and put a real
- 00:29:05hardstyle act on the stage and I was not
- 00:29:08even talking about myself just put
- 00:29:11somebody decent on there and we [ __ ]
- 00:29:14kill it you know I know for sure it's
- 00:29:16it's time and then he sent me a text uh
- 00:29:19text message back like yeah it's okay
- 00:29:21let's do this so yeah I was like holy
- 00:29:23[ __ ] are we are we are we actually going
- 00:29:26to do this
- 00:29:28land listen up my name is T and this is
- 00:29:31my first time at the main stage
- 00:29:36Tomorrowland I got to say you guys look
- 00:29:38[ __ ] beautiful too
- 00:29:40today so I I think I represent the whole
- 00:29:44scene at that stage uh I didn't even
- 00:29:48focus on my own tracks or my new tracks
- 00:29:50or whatever I was like okay I'm here to
- 00:29:53represent the scene and that's what I'm
- 00:29:54going to do but it's going to be a set
- 00:29:57that you can convince people that
- 00:30:00haven't heard of heart style and that
- 00:30:02the real Fanatics are also like yeah
- 00:30:05this was good this was how we see the
- 00:30:07scene it was pretty um
- 00:30:11[Music]
- 00:30:13historic
- 00:30:14alone
- 00:30:16alone
- 00:30:18alone
- 00:30:19alone
- 00:30:21alone how are you feeling
- 00:30:25[Music]
- 00:30:32[Music]
- 00:30:42Dan
- 00:30:53tomorrow DJI
- 00:30:59[Music]
- 00:31:15that was the main stage toland and
- 00:31:24weekend of
- 00:31:26the next level so as you can
- 00:31:30see it was it only made sense at the at
- 00:31:33the time for him to be the very first
- 00:31:36Harel act to solo play on the main stage
- 00:31:39of Tomorrowland representing his country
- 00:31:41representing the genre it it only made
- 00:31:43sense goon closed the set and it was
- 00:31:45really it was was amazing I think for me
- 00:31:49I think one of the coolest sets I've
- 00:31:50witnessed goon playing and there also he
- 00:31:52felt like see the people are really
- 00:31:54ready for this regardless if they were
- 00:31:56dedicated hard fans people wanted to
- 00:31:58party and they just wanted to like feel
- 00:32:01feel the
- 00:32:02[Music]
- 00:32:09music it opened a lot of doors cuz the
- 00:32:13let's say the the the not even the year
- 00:32:15after I was at seat Festival also as the
- 00:32:17First artstyle
- 00:32:19Act uh and and and of course a lot of a
- 00:32:22lot of a lot of
- 00:32:24festivals uh outside art style yeah just
- 00:32:27I was was closing uh in Chile I was
- 00:32:29closing the main stage after Armen vuran
- 00:32:32and in in in in in Asia I was doing a
- 00:32:35lot of a lot of club shows the the the
- 00:32:38kind of stages man I've been doing the
- 00:32:40last couple of years it's it's insane
- 00:32:42it's insane the festivals I never heard
- 00:32:45of and then you you fly fly to the
- 00:32:48country and and you're you're like ah
- 00:32:50how many people do you expect tonight
- 00:32:52and you're like 5,000 and then they say
- 00:32:5440,000 people
- 00:32:56okay now now what you know and but it's
- 00:32:59cool it's really cool and it's like you
- 00:33:01need to know what you you need to look
- 00:33:04at your crowd and know what to play and
- 00:33:06um it's still about global dedication
- 00:33:08it's still about
- 00:33:11those uh people who are uh or or at a
- 00:33:15stage who don't don't know what our
- 00:33:17style is or don't know what who [ __ ] is
- 00:33:20I want to convince you I want to
- 00:33:22convince you uh of what I've been doing
- 00:33:25for the last couple years
- 00:33:31in in 2018 because of the Tomorrowland
- 00:33:34main stage um a lot of there there was a
- 00:33:38lot of uh weight on my shoulders you
- 00:33:41know the whole whole art style scene was
- 00:33:42looking at me uh but not not only the
- 00:33:45whole heart cell scene also my
- 00:33:47management my
- 00:33:48agency uh you know even got some text
- 00:33:52messages of qan like don't [ __ ] this up
- 00:33:54because this is our scene you know so so
- 00:33:57a lot of pressure and after that I don't
- 00:34:00know why but I started looking at me
- 00:34:03like hey um the set was good said was
- 00:34:07was was awesome but I started looking at
- 00:34:09me like you're not a real artist um uh
- 00:34:14just just look at you you're just some
- 00:34:16guy from from a small town in in Belgium
- 00:34:19and I was being really hard uh on myself
- 00:34:23and I guess it has to do with mental
- 00:34:27health and and some some struggles of
- 00:34:30course ER stress is is a big thing of
- 00:34:33course um because because this like I
- 00:34:37said it's a roller coaster man you keep
- 00:34:38on going and of course the whole avichi
- 00:34:41story made us made us think as well um
- 00:34:44same for a lot of Acts that when you ask
- 00:34:48like is it really going that good no it
- 00:34:50actually it's not cuz it's like the
- 00:34:52pressure is so high and all the
- 00:34:54festivals and it's getting so big so I
- 00:34:57feel that um sometimes you're not
- 00:34:59allowed to have a a dark um period in
- 00:35:04your life you know when it is what it is
- 00:35:07and I had and I still have to be honest
- 00:35:11sometimes some struggles you know and
- 00:35:14and and it's not that I don't love the
- 00:35:17scene and I love to be on stage and I
- 00:35:20like I said I was being way too hard on
- 00:35:23myself and um all the traveling and you
- 00:35:27know all the the extras that you're you
- 00:35:30don't always want to do um that make it
- 00:35:33really hard sometimes and I was just be
- 00:35:36like I said I was just being a a pain in
- 00:35:38the ass uh there was this this guy on my
- 00:35:41shoulder and sometimes he's still there
- 00:35:44um who says you cannot do it and then
- 00:35:46the other gu is yeah watch me I'm I'm
- 00:35:48doing this you know so it's a struggle
- 00:35:50and that's where now or never if you
- 00:35:52listen to the lyrics and if you listen
- 00:35:54closely of course um you hear
- 00:35:58uh what the track is about and um um
- 00:36:01yeah I'm pretty proud of that one cuz
- 00:36:02it's also it's opening up to your
- 00:36:05emotions and your feelings and this one
- 00:36:08was not the easiest look in the mirror
- 00:36:11who's looking back at me it's like I
- 00:36:13carry the weight of the world on the
- 00:36:15back of me my head is in a dark cloud
- 00:36:17coming after me yeah I'm high but I'm
- 00:36:20still held down by gravity now never now
- 00:36:26never it's now or
- 00:36:34[Music]
- 00:36:44never it's going way better and the
- 00:36:46reason the reason is just simple I I
- 00:36:49start caring I start caring about trying
- 00:36:52to be the best version of myself I don't
- 00:36:54need to be that and uh that's also what
- 00:36:57Now or Never is is about is you don't
- 00:37:00want to complain because because it's a
- 00:37:02dream job and it it still is but then
- 00:37:05again um together with your management
- 00:37:08who who also relay on you and and and
- 00:37:11and your agency you're like like hey how
- 00:37:13many shows that we're going to do this
- 00:37:14year uh 500 you know they they don't
- 00:37:17they don't they care but they don't you
- 00:37:20know because they want to do as much
- 00:37:21shows as possible but I care and also
- 00:37:24Maro and and and and my daughter cares
- 00:37:26you know so I have to find that perfect
- 00:37:29balance as well um so yeah so yeah you
- 00:37:33have to you have to be careful you know
- 00:37:35you have to be careful because if you're
- 00:37:37there you cannot be here you know so
- 00:37:39it's uh yeah Focus well um yeah like the
- 00:37:43artist [ __ ] is way different than the
- 00:37:45family man [ __ ] you know and it's hard
- 00:37:48to put that uh button off you know um
- 00:37:52cuz if you're doing a tour of three
- 00:37:53weeks let's say in China and you're
- 00:37:55coming back home um suddenly you're [ __ ]
- 00:37:58the family man you know you need to take
- 00:38:00care of of your daughter getting to
- 00:38:02school um um it's it's not that obvious
- 00:38:07it's it's not that easy it's [ __ ] and
- 00:38:09[ __ ] the same name two different people
- 00:38:12as in the DJ and then the the friend um
- 00:38:18out of all my friends he's the
- 00:38:21less he's the most normal guy sometimes
- 00:38:24he keeps surprising me I was there last
- 00:38:26week and he opens the door and um a
- 00:38:30family man in extreme when we go on tour
- 00:38:33and we go back he's always super happy
- 00:38:35he loves the tour CU that's like the
- 00:38:37shows that's his his his passion going
- 00:38:41home Fay Malo his two favorite women
- 00:38:45like he wants to go home and also then
- 00:38:48um his friends and stuff he really has
- 00:38:50his private life and I know he needs
- 00:38:52that balance it's home you know it's
- 00:38:54it's it's it's it's it's a place where I
- 00:38:57can be myself where I can relax um so so
- 00:39:02luckily uh I'm one of the lucky guys
- 00:39:05that that that have such a such a good
- 00:39:08base at home you know with friends and
- 00:39:10family and stuff yeah I really
- 00:39:12appreciate that I always say like fa is
- 00:39:14a real Superstar you know I'm I'm this
- 00:39:16this bside artist but fa is the aside
- 00:39:20you know f is uh yeah see she's such a
- 00:39:24funny funny lady and also such a smart
- 00:39:26lady and she wants to get attention like
- 00:39:29Daddy probably but um it's uh yeah my
- 00:39:33connection with her is is because of
- 00:39:36because of covid and stuff like that my
- 00:39:38connection and my my band with with with
- 00:39:41my daughter is is is is at its best at
- 00:39:44the moment you know she I I really know
- 00:39:46her and um so that's that's why co uh
- 00:39:50wasn't that bad at least for me you know
- 00:39:54um that that period of rest you know
- 00:40:02what you need to know is I'm A hip-hop
- 00:40:04lover and in hip-hop they tell a story
- 00:40:06and that's what I like something is
- 00:40:08happening in your life and you want to
- 00:40:10share this you know and I do that
- 00:40:12through music and in Hip Hop they they
- 00:40:14are able to yeah tell three or four
- 00:40:18minutes what's on their mind and in art
- 00:40:21style you basically don't have any
- 00:40:24minutes to do that cuz it's instrumental
- 00:40:27with with some punch lines so what I do
- 00:40:30not all the time but I have a long break
- 00:40:33with the speech the things I want to
- 00:40:35tell the people and then a massive
- 00:40:38Melody kicks in allow me to introduce
- 00:40:43myself I'm not an identity I'm not a
- 00:40:46religion nor
- 00:40:48Creed I'm not even a being of
- 00:40:52matter I don't have a home nor do I care
- 00:40:55for the greed of materialism political
- 00:40:58stature or the pitfalls of
- 00:41:00ego I'm an unyielding frequency of
- 00:41:04vibrational
- 00:41:05ecstasy I'm a form of art I am your
- 00:41:08guide on this path to
- 00:41:10Enlightenment through the purity of
- 00:41:14[Music]
- 00:41:24sound pleased to meet you they call me
- 00:41:28St Yours
- 00:41:30[Music]
- 00:41:43Truly you know and that's how I want to
- 00:41:45tell the people what's up I want to move
- 00:41:48people not only with the music but also
- 00:41:50with the lyrics with the text with the
- 00:41:52with the slogans with whatever and they
- 00:41:55put it on their arms and it's it's crazy
- 00:41:58so so this one is uh Global dedication
- 00:42:01that's what I always wanted I want heart
- 00:42:04style to get worldwide and now it is but
- 00:42:06I I still want more people to feel what
- 00:42:09I felt when I first heard art style it
- 00:42:12made such impact in my uh life uh I
- 00:42:16cannot be the only one that feels that I
- 00:42:19want more people to feel it this is Les
- 00:42:21is more um I was producing um I was over
- 00:42:25producing you know and and uh Les is
- 00:42:28more which basically says says it all uh
- 00:42:32going to the core when a track is good
- 00:42:35enough leave it you know leave it
- 00:42:38release it cuz it's good enough you know
- 00:42:40like that and then this is trip to
- 00:42:42tomorrow here somewhere it's uh it's
- 00:42:45about my you know my trip to
- 00:42:48Tomorrowland H and this is my latest
- 00:42:50album which is uh loyalties is
- 00:42:52everything which basically says that
- 00:42:55even in in times that you don't do show
- 00:42:58um the Loyalty towards heart style is
- 00:43:01still everything uh so all albums
- 00:43:04basically so my father doesn't like me
- 00:43:07to make a lot of albums anymore because
- 00:43:11uh my arm will be full
- 00:43:17but my strength is is sketchiness and
- 00:43:21and lyrically wise um getting a team um
- 00:43:26you know getting it 100% um um I I tell
- 00:43:32um young talents a lot like it's not it
- 00:43:36is about the the quality and the
- 00:43:39production but be before all of that you
- 00:43:43need to find something signature
- 00:43:45something that that is you um because
- 00:43:49you of course you can produce a noise
- 00:43:52controllers kind of track um if you're
- 00:43:55good enough but it's just a copy of the
- 00:43:58noise controllers track you know what I
- 00:44:00mean it's it's it's just a track try to
- 00:44:02create a song Try to try to yeah create
- 00:44:06a team you know Superman is a track of
- 00:44:09of me which is a perfect example it it
- 00:44:12was just a track with lyrics about a
- 00:44:14superman but the way I created the whole
- 00:44:18campaign and putting the um putting the
- 00:44:21[ __ ] logo which basically is s of
- 00:44:24Superman but upside down and created
- 00:44:26this as a as a as a logo of Superman um
- 00:44:30telling the people to get one fist in
- 00:44:32the air and fly with me like real
- 00:44:34Superman makes it um an experience makes
- 00:44:38one track an experience and and and I
- 00:44:41I'm definitely sure that that's one of
- 00:44:43the reason why this track is one of the
- 00:44:46most uh popular [ __ ] tracks because
- 00:44:48because of that you give the people
- 00:44:50something more than just a track the
- 00:44:52reason why I'm I'm a fan for example of
- 00:44:54Eminem is because I listen to his tracks
- 00:44:58and I I feel his struggles and you know
- 00:45:01to to put that into a very getchy track
- 00:45:06is done you know that's that's all you
- 00:45:08need and and yeah I'm trying to do that
- 00:45:11as well with my track so that that that
- 00:45:13makes goon I'm not saying unique but at
- 00:45:17least very strong in in in in in in the
- 00:45:20hard sty
- 00:45:25SC best experience for me was the
- 00:45:28Gathering in
- 00:45:292017 they were shanting my name for at
- 00:45:33least 5 minutes I guess it was like goon
- 00:45:36goon [ __ ] and I was like behind the desk
- 00:45:39like [ __ ] of course I'm [ __ ] but I look
- 00:45:43at me way different than other people so
- 00:45:46to hear what is it like 15,000 people at
- 00:45:50the Gathering maybe more um hearing you
- 00:45:54know chanting your your name like the
- 00:45:57it's crazy man it's crazy it's it's
- 00:45:59beyond belief but but but yeah that that
- 00:46:02one that that one gave me Goose Bobs and
- 00:46:04still do
- 00:46:06[Music]
- 00:46:19crazy when I first heard that I was
- 00:46:21going to do the anthem I was already
- 00:46:24convinced that I was going to do it in
- 00:46:26triplet you know triple it is is uh I'm
- 00:46:28I'm I'm not sure how uh how much I I
- 00:46:31want to go in detail it's been a while
- 00:46:34when uh people did a triplet track back
- 00:46:39then you know and I was I was sure okay
- 00:46:41I'm definitely going to do it in triplet
- 00:46:43before the first meeting and then I went
- 00:46:44to Q Dan and we sit together of course
- 00:46:46and that's when uh I I knew that uh um
- 00:46:50the team was going to be survival of the
- 00:46:52fittest with the lion and stuff and I
- 00:46:54instantly that's that's what I'm trying
- 00:46:57to tell you I instantly see a lot of
- 00:47:00things and I feel a lot of things and um
- 00:47:04what I what I what I instantly thought
- 00:47:06about it was was okay Rambo and and it's
- 00:47:10it's survival of the fest with a lion
- 00:47:13and and it made me that's that's when
- 00:47:16you hear
- 00:47:17that it has this Warrior Warrior
- 00:47:21survival of the fittest kind of feel is
- 00:47:24theor we call
- 00:47:28the one and only DJ Two
- 00:47:56[Music]
- 00:47:59it's it's it's still is is is a great
- 00:48:02Anem um at least for me it it's still is
- 00:48:05also production wise was kind of the the
- 00:48:07turning point where I was like okay um
- 00:48:11also production wise you need to step up
- 00:48:13your game and uh yeah was a good um was
- 00:48:17a good connection
- 00:48:23yeah on its own art style Goods of VI
- 00:48:27I'm sure um cuz the sound is so solid um
- 00:48:32but at least I want to explore new new
- 00:48:37uh new territories and I want to um
- 00:48:40involve other Jaris into heart style you
- 00:48:43know I'm a hard style DJ and I always
- 00:48:46will be but I'm saying I'm not going to
- 00:48:49be the next profit or the next Isaac I
- 00:48:52still want to do a lot of [ __ ] and I
- 00:48:55mean um if I see uh if I if I look at
- 00:48:59what my talent is I want to give that to
- 00:49:02the young talents who are very good at
- 00:49:04producing but still miss that branding
- 00:49:07part or still miss that that push in
- 00:49:10that direction um so so I want to do
- 00:49:13that a little bit more not saying ghost
- 00:49:16producing but but more let's say
- 00:49:18creative management um yeah I even want
- 00:49:21want to make um uh kid songs man my my
- 00:49:25my my little one uh of course keeps on
- 00:49:28uh stalking we me with uh with the kid
- 00:49:31songs and if I hear those chords I can
- 00:49:34do that way
- 00:49:36better so why why not why not in 10
- 00:49:39years you see me uh uh producing for a I
- 00:49:42don't know Mickey
