Chronologie

  • 00:00:00 - 00:05:00

  • 00:00:03
of my child and also be valuable  to people having my own income
  • 00:00:07
    hell online
  • 00:00:13
training assistant life is unpredictable  you are international relation student
  • 00:00:21
I was an international relation  student even uh graduates from very
  • 00:00:24
prestigious universities sometimes find  it very hard to find a job the SGB VA.
  • 00:00:40
everyone want a big change but don't appreciate  a tiny little change we made every single day
  • 00:00:45
yes I have another student and she always  was dreaming to go to Mecca wow yes so she
  • 00:00:52
she saved some money from the VA work  and then she finally bought her ticket
  • 00:01:00
Tanya, founder of SGB VA welcome to the
  • 00:01:08
show hi thank you very much it's going to be  a great conversation because my first time
  • 00:01:19
speaking English in the podcast of s class  I'm curious about your background what is
  • 00:01:26
your educational background and how did those  experience make you pursue your entrepreneurial
  • 00:01:34
dreams mhm yeah uh so actually I'm uh originally  from Russia I'm coming uh from a very small city
  • 00:01:42
in Russia and I mean when my educational  background is I basically graduated from
  • 00:01:53
the University with a major of international  relations like you right International relation
  • 00:02:00
International and actually this um pretty much  much really changed my life because I was studying
  • 00:02:07
Bahasa Indonesia and because I got a scholarship  to study in this University I couldn't choose the
  • 00:02:13
language that I would study so they actually gave  me Bahasa Indonesia they told me you will study
  • 00:02:19
this language and I had no idea at that time about  Indonesia where it is I only heard about Bali once
  • 00:02:26
or twice uh but I was at the same I'm very happy  that I'm giving this chance to learn something
  • 00:02:34
that's very exotic for Russian people I think up  until now there are only like 100 or 200 people in
  • 00:02:41
in whole Russia who can speak Bahasa Indonesia so  I was feeling really lucky with that opportunity
  • 00:02:49
and this really changed my life because it really  exposed me to the new culture uh new experiences
  • 00:02:57
and I just uh I remember I actually recorded an  IG live on my Instagram yesterday uh because a lot
  • 00:03:04
of people are wondering Tanya why so you teach  about remote work but why Indonesia how do you
  • 00:03:09
ever like get connected to Indonesia you know so  uh Indonesia really always uh felt like home for
  • 00:03:19
me because I um from the very first year when I  started to learn Bahasa Indonesia I remember I
  • 00:03:28
came to the uh Russian Embassy uh sorry Indonesian  embassy in Russia and I remember the Ambassador
  • 00:03:34
told us like feel at home here you know this is  your home come to celebrate any holidays with us
  • 00:03:41
uh and feel at home and for me it really mean  meant a lot because I was feeling lonely uh I
  • 00:03:46
was just it was my first year in Moscow away  from my family and yeah I think this kind of
  • 00:03:53
summarizes my whole experience with Indonesia that  it always feels like home for me but you earlier
  • 00:03:59
asked uh as well asked as well about how uh my  education affected my entrepreneurship honestly
  • 00:04:07
speaking I never really could imagine myself  becoming an entrepreneur I never thought that
  • 00:04:14
I have this entrepreneur skills or something like  that um and I was working in corporate before um
  • 00:04:22
and until I was fired from the corporate job um  because I my my b said you know Tanya you really I
  • 00:04:31
I feel you really want the freedom you really want  to like spend your time with your family you are
  • 00:04:38
uh you know uh you are not over like overworking  not working extra hours you know I don't see you
  • 00:04:46
put the extra mile so how about you just become  a housewife and then I was fired and then that's
  • 00:04:51
where I started to find and to look for other  opportunities and actually my uncle was really uh
  • 00:05:00
was really uh affecting my decision to become an  entrepreneur because he is an entrepreneur but
  • 00:05:05
in completely different industry so he just  told me how about you just try to become an
  • 00:05:11
entrepreneur you don't lose anything uh just try  and if you if it doesn't work out you can always
  • 00:05:17
come back to the corporate and uh that's how I  started my my journey yeah life is unpredictable
  • 00:05:24
you were International relation student I was an  international relation student and we decided to
  • 00:05:30
to deep deep dive into different industry and why  fa simple question yeah so actually uh I moved to
  • 00:05:42
Singapore in 2016 because I always wanted to live  in close to Indonesia and um me and my husband
  • 00:05:52
decided to move to Singapore because he's in it so  Singapore was a a good choice in terms of like job
  • 00:05:58
opportunities for this field so we decided it's  close to Indonesia so we would move to Singapore
  • 00:06:05
and then um I started my first business back in  2018 it was Singapore guide book it's a platform
  • 00:06:12
about Singapore in Bahasa Indonesia which is  still running right now and uh basically our
  • 00:06:18
business model is that we sell advertisement to  different companies like hotels restaurants those
  • 00:06:24
who want to promote themselves to Indonesian  market so uh uh then Co hit and I basically
  • 00:06:33
got no clients in just like in in a very short  time all my contracts are gone because there are
  • 00:06:39
no tourists there are there is lockdown uh and at  that time I also gave birth and I my son was like
  • 00:06:46
six months old so I had to make money to to have  an income and I decided that I will be helping
  • 00:06:55
uh um Brands to manage their social media so I  started to H to help uh medical clinics actually
  • 00:07:03
my my very first client as a virtual assistant I  got this client in 2019 it's my Singapore guide
  • 00:07:10
book client who advertised with us but uh when  we spoke he it seemed like he also needed social
  • 00:07:18
media help so I just uh told him how about I help  you to manage your social media and then when Co
  • 00:07:25
hit uh I I started to help more brands I didn't  even know that this is called a virtual assistant
  • 00:07:32
or something like that I was just doing social  media management I started to work with cl with
  • 00:07:38
medical clinics and then uh my first client was  a aesthetic clinic and she was very happy with my
  • 00:07:45
services so she recommended me to two more clients  and that's how I actually became a fully booked uh
  • 00:07:53
VA uh in a very short time and I was my income was  even higher than before covid so it really opened
  • 00:08:01
my eyes on this opportunity that uh I couldn't  imagine that I could do something from home while
  • 00:08:07
taking care of my child and also uh like you know  be valuable to people having my own income yeah
  • 00:08:15
and um then I went traveling after covid already  so I was reading an article about uh you know uh
  • 00:08:26
how important remote work is right now that it's  booming a lot of companies need remote stuff and I
  • 00:08:33
was like wow it it means I am I am actually doing  this right now so how about I just try to teach
  • 00:08:39
people to uh you know about how to bring value  to clients how to um you know uh close the deals
  • 00:08:49
with clients how to pach themselves to clients how  to build long-term relationships with clients so
  • 00:08:55
that's how my course started basically do you know  that that the unemployment rate in Indonesia is
  • 00:09:02
around 4.91% yes I've heard about it yeah and most  of them are diplomas and bachelor's degree yeah
  • 00:09:12
why do you think this is the big problem Indonesia  and how do you see it as a opportunity to help
  • 00:09:19
them to grow their income yeah I think it's it's  actually this problem is in my opinion is not only
  • 00:09:26
in Indonesia but all around the world actually  in my country as well and I know that even uh
  • 00:09:32
graduates from very prestigious universities  sometimes find it very hard to find a job and I
  • 00:09:38
really believe that right now we are so lucky to  live in a world where actually your success does
  • 00:09:46
not depend so much anymore on your diplomas  degrees the experience you know yes from one
  • 00:09:53
side uh it's no longer the world where you just go  to the University graduate and then you have the
  • 00:10:00
job and you work in this job for the rest of your  life that the the world has really changed and the
  • 00:10:06
truth is that even the diploma and degree does not  guarantee you the job and most probably what you
  • 00:10:14
will need to do to be successful is to embrace the  mindset of constant learning constant development
  • 00:10:21
and the truth is that even if you don't have like  a grade degree uh but you have the willingness to
  • 00:10:29
learn and the ability to learn to put effort you  actually can become anyone you want I think this
  • 00:10:36
is also the opportunity yes the unemployment  is from one side it's very negative right it's
  • 00:10:43
it's not it's not a good thing but on the other  side we need to know that there are so many other
  • 00:10:50
opportunities and we are lucky to live in this era  of the digital digital world right where we can
  • 00:10:57
actually build our life the way we want if we are  willing to grow yeah so uh I believe that being
  • 00:11:07
a virtual assistant is one of the opportunities  that people can grab like there are millions and
  • 00:11:14
millions of entrepreneurs who are looking for  remote workers for remote help and if you are
  • 00:11:20
able to learn the way how to bring the value to  this entrepreneurs maybe manage their social media
  • 00:11:28
maybe doing email marketing for them maybe uh  doing admin tasks like travel planning uh like uh
  • 00:11:36
responding to emails uh uh managing their schedule  manag managing their personal things uh you bring
  • 00:11:43
them value and there are lots of opportunities  for you and I feel that this uh many people ask
  • 00:11:50
me why Indonesia why you have so many students  from Indonesia I feel that this opportunity
  • 00:11:57
really clicks with Indonesia because in Indonesia  there are a few things um like unemployment like
  • 00:12:05
you said but also age right like a lot of the age  sensitivity where at some point like in your late
  • 00:12:13
20s it's already harder to find a job right which  uh is not really happening in other countries this
  • 00:12:20
is specific to Indonesia I feel uh but the beauty  of being a VA is that you are not limited to how
  • 00:12:27
old you are uh who you are male or female what's  your background what's your experience what's your
  • 00:12:33
education as long as you are willing to learn how  to bring value to those entrepreneurs from around
  • 00:12:40
the world uh as a VA then you can uh you know  have a great opportunity to work remotely and
  • 00:12:49
for Indonesia it also makes a lot of sense because  with the traffic in Jakarta for example and other
  • 00:12:55
big cities people just realize that they spent  like so M so many years of their life in traffic
  • 00:13:03
right and this can be saved by working remotely  that's why I feel this VA opportunity really
  • 00:13:10
clicked with the Indonesian Market yeah you can  work you can work anywhere you can work from Bal
  • 00:13:15
you came work from a and I think one of the reason  why the problem is bigger and bigger talking about
  • 00:13:22
unemployment is most of the students just relying  on their background let's say my my background
  • 00:13:29
is international relation your background in  is international relation so have to work in
  • 00:13:34
international relations Focus era MH and I think  that's the big problem we don't adjust to the new
  • 00:13:40
world so right now even though I'm International  relation student I have to understand how social
  • 00:13:45
media works I have to understand how the podcast  works so we have to adjust and most people don't
  • 00:13:51
want to adjust yes exactly I completely agree with  you and I I feel that our major in the University
  • 00:13:57
does not necessarily determine our future  right because what we learn in the university
  • 00:14:03
is actually we learn how to learn like we learn  how to learn we learn how to memorize like in the
  • 00:14:10
information how to analyze the information how to  like maybe have the communication skills project
  • 00:14:17
management skills which is also very useful in  the VA world uh but you definitely you need to
  • 00:14:24
like use these skills to follow the current trends  that current Trends and the current current world
  • 00:14:31
that we live in which is completely different  from the world where our parents used to live
  • 00:14:37
right like they just graduate they get a job and  sometimes they just work in this job for 20 30
  • 00:14:43
years yeah this is already completely different  yeah um could you share about your major challenge
  • 00:14:51
when you started this business um did you start it  by you start it by your pinpoint right because you
  • 00:14:59
you give a birth and then you have to work from  home mhm is there any challenge yeah but people
  • 00:15:06
ask me like what is the biggest challenge uh in  uh you know be be being a virtual assistant I feel
  • 00:15:12
for me the biggest challenge was time management  because I used to work from the office and uh when
  • 00:15:19
I started Singapore gate book I also used to have  an office so uh my life was very structured like
  • 00:15:25
I go to the office I work and then I come home  this is my family time but after I started to
  • 00:15:32
work remote I tried to uh like there is actually  there was no boundary between my life and my work
  • 00:15:42
and it really became hard because at some point  I realized that I try to multitask I try to for
  • 00:15:48
example feed my baby or go out with my baby and  then at the same time I'm trying to like write a
  • 00:15:54
caption for my clients's Instagram post or you  know uh do do something chatting with a client
  • 00:16:02
and it really was hard because I was not really  productive while multitasking I realized that it
  • 00:16:09
takes me a lot of time to actually complete the  tasks and also it uh makes me burn out easily
  • 00:16:16
because everything is Blended like I used to even  work on WE weekends on Saturdays Sundays just to
  • 00:16:22
complete my work and I I feel that it took me some  time to adjust and the greatest uh tip that that
  • 00:16:29
I got for this for time management is that you  need to do deep work so you need to really focus
  • 00:16:36
on one thing at a time like multitasking doesn't  work it's not like you try to for example uh when
  • 00:16:43
I was uh when my baby was small so I decided  okay he has a two hours snap from 12: to 2 p.m.
  • 00:16:51
for example and this time I will really do deep  work uh meaning I will do the r captions for my
  • 00:16:59
clients post for their Instagram so and I was very  surprised that if I focus on one task at a time
  • 00:17:08
my work was done very much faster uh before that  I was you know uh doing some work for my client
  • 00:17:16
while scrolling Instagram while responding emails  this doesn't work so I really um became extra
  • 00:17:21
smart with my time management and it became much  easier with time you know and things that I feel
  • 00:17:30
that's uh uh a challenge as well is consistency  especially when reaching out to clients you know
  • 00:17:38
uh I didn't find this challenge uh I didn't find  this very challenging for me personally but that's
  • 00:17:45
what I heard from from people as well uh that you  know the biggest results in our lives come from
  • 00:17:53
something that we do consistently like little  efforts but every single day yeah and that's I
  • 00:17:59
think another challenge that people face that it's  very it seems easy like just spend 15 minutes per
  • 00:18:05
day or 30 minutes a day to you know contact the  clients to apply to jobs but you really need to
  • 00:18:11
be consistent to do it like every day put it  in your calendar and it always uh also comes
  • 00:18:18
to uh time management time management skills  and yeah so I believe that if you have many
  • 00:18:25
people ask me what is the main skill that I need  to have in order to become a VA and I always say
  • 00:18:31
that you need to have the ability to learn to  put the effort and also be consistent yeah you
  • 00:18:37
know to have this consistency everyone want a big  change but don't appreciate a tiny little change
  • 00:18:44
we made every single day yes even the 1% every  single day is way way better than you do it 100%
  • 00:18:52
today but tomorrow you give up and yeah exactly  it's like it's we go to we go to gym for like and
  • 00:18:58
exercise 7 hours one day a week or we go every  every day just for 15 minutes of course it will
  • 00:19:05
be really different yeah yeah and I think the most  simple things is people just focus on oh I want to
  • 00:19:17
get 10 Millions rupia per month but they want they  don't want to improve the skill they don't want
  • 00:19:22
to put a little effort to contact a client I feel  that uh you know like like you said people really
  • 00:19:28
want the money they want uh their mindset is even  some people who reach out to me on Instagram like
  • 00:19:34
Tanya how do I get the clients how do I get the  most money as much money as possible and even if
  • 00:19:41
they reach out to the potential clients they also  say say something like can you give me the job or
  • 00:19:47
something like that so I really believe that you  the the first thing the most crucial thing is that
  • 00:19:55
you need to change your mindset from how fast can  I become rich and and uh you know make money to
  • 00:20:02
how fast can I actually learn something to give  value to the others I really believe like and
  • 00:20:09
this is something that took me some time to learn  in my business but it completely changed my life
  • 00:20:16
personal and also business my business that you  need to focus always on giving value you know that
  • 00:20:24
as long as you focus on you come to the client  and you focus on how can I provide value to you

let me analyze your Instagram let me give you some  ideas let me give you some suggestions uh when we
  • 00:20:37
start to work together let let me uh you know I  will go the extra mile to help you uh grow your
  • 00:20:43
business I will be on your side not just oh this  is another project for me to make money you know
  • 00:20:49
and the thing is that the clients really feel  that the clients really feel that and they feel
  • 00:20:57
that you are on their side they feel that you are  really uh you know their team member and they are
  • 00:21:04
Keen to recommend you to others so really the  the key to success is to shift your mindset to
  • 00:21:11
how can I give value as many people as possible  you know and and I believe that that's why on um
  • 00:21:18
sgbv course and on my webinars um on my podcast I  always talk about uh mindset you know my course is
  • 00:21:28
not not only about how to do social media how to  do email marketing how to do lead generation how
  • 00:21:35
to do admin but my course is a lot about mindset  because I believe that if you have the tools you
  • 00:21:42
know how to do things but your mindset is not  uh is not right it is very hard to succeed you
  • 00:21:49
know uh yeah so so I believe that the the the  person who will be suitable to become a a it is
  • 00:21:59
not related to your age it is not related to your  background your education it's related to how Keen
  • 00:22:06
are you to learn and how Keen are you to put the  effort to really succeed and to bring the value
  • 00:22:12
to the clients yeah how many members of uh n sgbp  and how many alumnes do you have uh alumni we have
  • 00:22:21
like 13,000 13,000 yes yes mostly for Indonesia  yeah like 90% Indonesians even more yeah is there
  • 00:22:30
any interesting story from the Alum ni yeah lots  of lots of interesting stories uh I got uh quite
  • 00:22:39
a few alumni who uh became top rated upw work uh  upwork professionals from zero like uh without any
  • 00:22:49
prior experience as a virtual assistant they just  build their presence there and they have a very
  • 00:22:55
stable career uh as a virtual assistant I also  have quite a lot of success stories from people
  • 00:23:03
who got like 10 years for Gap 15 years for Gap and  now they are working with like 10 International
  • 00:23:10
clients as a virtual assistant I got one student  who found or all her clients on Instagram so her
  • 00:23:18
clients it's not like she DMD her clients but  actually the clients came to her DMD her and she
  • 00:23:26
is now working with I think five in AAL clients as  a virtual assistant uh yeah so I got a story uh of
  • 00:23:35
my student who um also was a stay-at-home mom with  two kids and then uh she started to earn and then
  • 00:23:44
she build a house for her family with the earnings  that she got from the VA I have another student
  • 00:23:50
and she always was dreaming to go to Mecca wow  yes so she she saved some money from the VA work
  • 00:23:58
and then she finally bought her ticket and just  went to um to Mecca yeah to om yeah interesting
  • 00:24:05
story how do you see yourself and sbfa for the  next five years is there any potential new market
  • 00:24:14
or something like that um I would really like uh  and that's what I'm working on right now I want
  • 00:24:20
to build the ecosystem like the uh ecosystem  for VAs where I not not only teach the VA
  • 00:24:29
uh but also we really have the endtoend support uh  on how they will on on giving them the clients you
  • 00:24:35
know something like a VA agency we are also doing  something like that right now because we have for
  • 00:24:43
our students we have uh a private group with job  vacancies and we have quite many entrepreneurs
  • 00:24:49
reaching out to us uh who want us to uh to  match them with the vas from our community uh
  • 00:24:58
uh and that's what we do we have a separate  team for this but we want to scale it we want
  • 00:25:04
to scale it and maybe in the future we will be  like a proper VA agency so we have the end to
  • 00:25:11
endend support yeah so that's uh my focus so your  focus is also svpa focus and your Big Dreams is
  • 00:25:23
to help more people yes to find their potential to  bigger their income and what is your bigger dream
  • 00:25:34
outside of the world outside of the work um yeah I  think what's really driving me is like uh bringing
  • 00:25:42
people value I think that's so satisfying uh to  to actually see the impact on the world and what
  • 00:25:50
I yeah I honestly just want to continue this in  different ways I if possible I also want to like
  • 00:25:59
move to go to other markets like to to uh also um  so Al more people could learn about VA uh but yeah
  • 00:26:09
I I think I just uh want to continue this trend  of bringing people value because that's something
  • 00:26:15
that brings me a lot of a lot of satisfaction  but of course yeah I my another priority is my
  • 00:26:21
family I really want to uh continue you know  having time to spend with my family to grow
  • 00:26:28
as a person I'm also really uh passionate about  self-development personal development like you
  • 00:26:34
right so uh just you know being a better  person every day uh that's really is very
  • 00:26:42
exciting for me uh developing myself changing  my mindset becoming a better person and always
  • 00:26:49
remembering that I need to only compare myself  to myself you know not comparing myself to other
  • 00:26:56
people but comparing myself to myself and how  am I improving that's really driving me as well
  • 00:27:03
yeah t we have three question from our audience  in swabber class the first question is why
  • 00:27:14
Singaporean are so rich compared to Indonesian  because I heard Singapore minimum wage is at
  • 00:27:19
least $3,000 Singaporean dollar and it's huge  gap compared to Indonesia what do you think the
  • 00:27:26
contributing factor for that fact yeah I I think  maybe for for Indonesia this amount is considered
  • 00:27:35
to be high but actually in Singapore uh the the  cost of life is so expensive that if the minimum
  • 00:27:44
wage is 3,500 it's not it you can't do much with  it because uh like renting an apartment or like
  • 00:27:53
you know uh food everything is so expensive so  actually the the living cost is so high that we
  • 00:28:01
cannot really say that the singaporeans are  rich you know and I think it is very similar
  • 00:28:06
to Indonesia that in Indonesia we do have people  who have more money who have less money in IND in
  • 00:28:12
Singapore is is the same but the the numbers are  different because the cost of living is completely
  • 00:28:19
different yeah because most people think like oh  I want to move to Singapore because I can get a
  • 00:28:26
lot of money there mhm don't think about expenses  yeah exactly Singapore is getting uh more and more
  • 00:28:34
expensive every single year and in fact a lot of  people leave Singapore because of the cost of Life
  • 00:28:41
mhm which is crazy expensive yeah okay second  question from Mia aset in Indonesia any funny
  • 00:28:55
story you encounter in Indo yeah I remember uh a  very funny story uh because actually in Indonesia
  • 00:29:03
most people they think that uh that I don't know  Bahasa Indonesia so as you know I can understand
  • 00:29:10
well I can read and so I was uh once I was in  batam uh I think Bam batam Bam Island yeah and
  • 00:29:21
then I was buying something in the market uh  and I heard that the person the the seller she
  • 00:29:29
was chatting with her friend about me in Bahasa  Indonesia like oh look at this girl she's like you
  • 00:29:35
know and then I told them guys I can understand  Bas in the N just so they were laughing and yeah
  • 00:29:41
so sometimes like people most of the times  they don't understand that I I know Bahasa
  • 00:29:46
Indonesia but uh yeah uh honestly in Indonesia I  I feel the culture and everything is so different
  • 00:29:57
from my home country uh and I really love how  Indonesians are so welcoming so friendly um so
  • 00:30:07
you know talkative they always smile and that's  what is drawing me to Indonesia that's not a funny
  • 00:30:13
story but just like an addition yeah so how long  have you been learning bahas I was uh I started to
  • 00:30:22
learn Bahasa in 2011 MH uh in my University and  then I graduate ated 2015 and then I was living
  • 00:30:31
in Indonesia for a while so and since then since  my very first business Singapore guide book I was
  • 00:30:37
working with Indonesian people so I'm very lucky  that you know uh that my life is always bringing
  • 00:30:44
me close to Indonesia yes you understand in Bahasa  but you don't speak Bahasa yes yes I I don't
  • 00:30:51
really know Bahasa Gaul yeah but I I try to only  some words mhm yeah but you know I have subscribed
  • 00:31:00
to to an app uh to learn Bahasa Indonesia so  I I really want to improve my speaking skills
  • 00:31:09
okay yeah and my vocabulary five words or one  sentence inasa okay uh Indonesia it's very basic
  • 00:31:27
[Music] [Laughter] um kpra is it like uh is it  like rice cake with the peanut sauce oh yeah
  • 00:31:41
yeah yeah this one yeah yeah with the noodles  uh-huh uh-huh it's very what's your favorite
  • 00:31:48
oh kak kak oh really gado nice have you tried  yeah of course of course I tried it I tried it
  • 00:31:58
okay so the third question from
  • 00:32:03
is hi T I'm jenzi my company expect me can do  M multiple things at once what do you think the
  • 00:32:13
correct framework to face this expectation I I  think uh we need more details about like what
  • 00:32:21
they expect you to do but I think especially if  you work in startups in smaller companies the
  • 00:32:27
job scope can usually be very wide like you are  expected to do this and social media and also do
  • 00:32:34
admin and also do that and this so I think the  the pro the the the think um and the advice to
  • 00:32:42
solve this is probably the communication like  communicating with your manager about what you
  • 00:32:48
can and can do uh and what what is exactly their  expectation so if you feel that you are very burnt
  • 00:32:55
out you have to work over time or you are doing  something that you don't enjoy doing for example
  • 00:33:01
like me when I was working in corporate uh my  my boss gave me a lot of the admin tasks but I
  • 00:33:08
am more of a creative person so I am now I really  regret that I didn't I was not honest enough or I
  • 00:33:16
I was afraid to talk to my boss and say sorry  this is not something I enjoy I would be so
  • 00:33:22
much more productive and I would be so much more  valuable for your company if you actually give
  • 00:33:27
me the tasks which I really enjoy doing so I  think that there is nothing wrong with with
  • 00:33:34
doing different tasks as long as you enjoy them  and as long as you are not burnt out to do them if
  • 00:33:41
you are then I guess that the best way is to just  honestly speak with your manager and find the best
  • 00:33:48
solution yeah I think one of the big problem  is inasa we call oh yeah when your boss say
  • 00:33:57
I have to do this you have to do this but actually  is off work and they didn't pay for our off work
  • 00:34:04
and you say yes boss yes yeah you know I also  talk a lot about it about setting boundaries
  • 00:34:11
you know setting healthy boundaries it it doesn't  mean that you reject everything or you your boss
  • 00:34:17
cannot rely on you if there is an emergency but  you also like prioritize yourself as well and
  • 00:34:24
politely try to speak it doesn't mean you need  to say like I I don't want to work over time or
  • 00:34:30
pay me for overtime but it's like uh look boss I  really appreciate what I do I really want to you
  • 00:34:38
know uh do everything I can for the success of  the company but sometimes I feel that I overwork
  • 00:34:44
a lot it really affects my health I want to find a  solution what can we do about this so I want to be
  • 00:34:51
honest because really working in this company is  important for me so you can find the right words
  • 00:34:57
to actually frame it in a way that shows that you  are very serious about working and be being loyal
  • 00:35:05
and productive for this company which may even  help your manager or or boss to appreciate you
  • 00:35:13
even more and trust you even more yeah the key  is communication we have to communicate how we
  • 00:35:18
feel exactly and that's that's also relevant to  remote work when we work with clients I always
  • 00:35:24
tell my students guys don't be afraid to talk  with your client if there is some task that you
  • 00:35:29
didn't understand or maybe you are sick today uh  and you can't work just tell your client because
  • 00:35:36
your client your boss they are just normal people  who understand what you what you feel and what you
  • 00:35:43
yeah encounter mhm very wise let's go to okay I  have one more question from our followers I think
  • 00:35:52
very interesting from ANA hello Tanya my name is  Ana if I want to try to learn fual assistance as
  • 00:36:03
someone who in the older age like in the late  40s is there any possibility to join sgbp mhm
  • 00:36:10
late 40s late 40s okay yeah uh actually even  on my YouTube channel we have a podcast from
  • 00:36:16
my alumni who share about they are all 50 plus  and they share about their success story as a
  • 00:36:24
remote worker in their 50 plus so actually there  is no limitation in terms of the age because the
  • 00:36:31
beauty of being a virtual assistant is that you do  not need to have a specific age to become a VA but
  • 00:36:39
of course if you are in your late 40s late 50s  you might need to put a bit more effort because
  • 00:36:46
uh it's a it's it's um connected with a digital  world right you need to be digitally savy you
  • 00:36:52
need to be able to work with like different soft  uh like easy applications Instagram social media
  • 00:37:00
so you might need a bit more uh effort to do that  but it will be very rewarding because you will be
  • 00:37:07
following the current trends in the world right  and uh even in my team I had people uh in my team
  • 00:37:15
who are in their 40s in their late 40s and it is  definitely possible if you are willing to learn
  • 00:37:22
yeah the key is to willing to learn even though  you are 40s 50s and I think the big problem that
  • 00:37:30
people facing right now if they think like 30 is  too old you know even in Indonesia you know even
  • 00:37:37
in the late 20s people think oh I can get a job  I'm 29 yes exactly exactly I think I feel embraced
  • 00:37:44
if I like looking for a new job even though  in LinkedIn most people like fak it their age
  • 00:37:51
yes exactly although it's actually very young but  it's in Indonesia it's considered old right yeah
  • 00:37:57
all right so um you Mentor more than 13,000 people  in sbva right I think most of them are now getting
  • 00:38:08
a job or they can start a new business and then  if people watch this podcast want to join sbpa
  • 00:38:16
how they can join this uh I think the the easiest  uh what you guys can do if you are interested to
  • 00:38:24
learn about uh you know how to work remotely who  is a virtual assistant and whether you want to
  • 00:38:30
understand whether this is really suitable for  you I think the best first step is just to uh
  • 00:38:35
attend my free webinar uh this is again completely  free free free yeah so no need to pay anything you
  • 00:38:42
can it's uh it's like a one hour webinar where  I explain all the details about who is a virtual
  • 00:38:49
assistant how much you can earn as a virtual  assistant what you can do uh about how to become
  • 00:38:55
a successful virtual assistant so you understand  whether this is suitable for you you know so this
  • 00:39:01
is the first step we also actually have a free  quiz where uh people can it just just takes
  • 00:39:08
maybe three minutes to take this quiz and it will  tell uh you what kind of services you can provide
  • 00:39:15
if you work remotely based on your personality  so we can drop the link in the description yeah
  • 00:39:21
so people can attend the webinar or the quiz  it's both free so this is I think the first
  • 00:39:27
step yeah if you are considering yeah yeah maybe  they afraid oh I have I have to pay first but no
  • 00:39:33
you can access free yes yes yes and after that  you can decide you do it or not yeah it will be
  • 00:39:40
already a great first step yeah last question for  me and I ask I asked this for everyone best advice
  • 00:39:49
for people in their 20s I think best advice is uh  don't be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone
  • 00:39:57
uh because actually a lot of people are stuck in  something that is very familiar to them because
  • 00:40:04
they have so many fears uh what if what if what  someone will think about me what if I fail what
  • 00:40:11
if I make a mistake what if I don't succeed so  actually don't be afraid to go outside of your
  • 00:40:18
comfort zone it's your time to try new things  it's your time to uh unlock your potential and
  • 00:40:24
really understand what you enjoy doing you  know what you enjoy doing and what you you
  • 00:40:30
are comfortable doing and how you can bring value  to people with your own unique skills because no
  • 00:40:37
matter who you are stay-at-home mom or maybe you  don't have work experience or something like that
  • 00:40:42
all of us have our unique skills which we can  leverage uh in our life and please also don't
  • 00:40:49
overthink I I feel that this is really one of  the biggest enemy like again when people want
  • 00:40:55
to become a remote worker they over saying oh  what if I don't manage my client's expectations
  • 00:41:01
what if I fail what if what if and there are so  many what ifs that they actually don't take any
  • 00:41:07
step you know so I just want you to to to take  this first step so if you watch this podcast if
  • 00:41:15
it rings the bell and if you feel like oh I am  interested to in remote work I want to explore
  • 00:41:20
it for me just take the first step just the free  webinar you don't have to pay anything just attend
  • 00:41:27
uh and uh you know put this one hour time to  see what it is about you know so be open to
  • 00:41:34
the opportunities and don't be afraid to make  mistakes so because this is really the best age
  • 00:41:40
to explore yeah my team just mentioned if I want  to join sgbp should I speak English properly or ah
  • 00:41:50
yeah so basically uh I always tell my students uh  and my audience in the webinar if you understand
  • 00:41:57
what what I say it means that you at least have  basic English so actually basic English in most
  • 00:42:03
cases is enough to even work with International  clients to do some jobs which do not uh need you
  • 00:42:10
to speak like admin jobs social media jobs it  all can be done even if your English is basic
  • 00:42:18
so of course English skill is always good to have  but you can start with just the basic English yeah
  • 00:42:25
MH wow interesting thank you thank you for your  time I really appreciate I appreciate thank you
