[Music]
00:00:01
how to learn anything fast or almost
00:00:05
[Music]
00:00:06
anything learning things faster and
00:00:09
learning things with more efficiency
00:00:10
comes down to treating learning alog
00:00:12
together as a full body process this
00:00:15
means your physical body your mental
00:00:17
state what you see in your mind as well
00:00:19
as the course of action that you take
00:00:22
now you already know my Approach on
00:00:23
Improvement we don't do things by Brute
00:00:25
Force here so everything I say today
00:00:27
just start to keep it in the back of
00:00:29
your mind from now now on most
00:00:31
importantly be realistic and don't
00:00:33
stress yourself out if you don't do all
00:00:35
of these at once it's something that
00:00:37
you'll probably come back to for the
00:00:39
rest of your
00:00:41
life so I want to start with one of the
00:00:44
most important aspects of learning
00:00:46
overall and that's actually the physical
00:00:48
state of the body what I mean by this is
00:00:50
optimizing our nervous system and making
00:00:53
sure that we can deliver all the
00:00:55
nutrients that we have available to us
00:00:57
everywhere in the body and one of the
00:01:00
best ways to do this is just to increase
00:01:02
your blood flow I don't think I've ever
00:01:04
heard this talked about maybe I have but
00:01:07
I know this has helped me significantly
00:01:08
for the past 5 years at the least and
00:01:12
this is something I really want people
00:01:13
to take more serious because it may not
00:01:16
seem like that big of a deal on the
00:01:17
surface but internally no pun intended
00:01:21
internally it really does make a very
00:01:24
big difference in the way that you
00:01:26
perform the way that you operate how
00:01:28
long you can sit down and study your
00:01:30
focus ability all those kinds of things
00:01:33
because the more you're able to deliver
00:01:34
nutrients to the brain the heart your
00:01:37
limbs if you're playing a instrument or
00:01:39
something the better you can operate so
00:01:42
what do we do basically before you
00:01:45
engage in any task even studying reading
00:01:48
whatever you want to get your heart rate
00:01:50
up just a little bit I'm not saying go
00:01:52
run sprints down the street you don't
00:01:54
have to do all that just try to get your
00:01:56
heart rate up a bit stretch maybe do a
00:01:58
few yoga poses or pilat poses if you're
00:02:01
into that I usually just jump in place
00:02:04
uh just to start or I move my limbs in
00:02:07
certain ways just to kind of get the
00:02:08
blood moving but you want to do this
00:02:10
before you start studying or practicing
00:02:13
and you want to do this intermittently
00:02:15
while you're studying or practicing like
00:02:17
for example this song that you're
00:02:19
hearing right now is actually me playing
00:02:22
and while I'm playing I'll just randomly
00:02:25
get up and do something like a handstand
00:02:27
for instance now of course you don't
00:02:29
have to go
00:02:30
doing a bunch of things that you're not
00:02:32
able to do or something that's going to
00:02:34
strain you but to me there's no better
00:02:37
way to get blood to my brain than just
00:02:39
literally be upside down but anything
00:02:42
works really like I said sometimes I
00:02:44
just jump in place just move my arms
00:02:46
around a
00:02:47
bit whatever it takes for you to get
00:02:50
blood moving throughout your body if
00:02:52
you're in public maybe just get up and
00:02:54
move around a bit stretch or if you're
00:02:56
like me and you really don't care what's
00:02:59
going on around you you you can do
00:03:01
exactly what you would do at home just
00:03:02
in public don't bother anyone though
00:03:05
don't be in the way doing handstands
00:03:08
next to someone's table I'm not saying
00:03:10
do all that as a quick backstory when I
00:03:13
lived in Japan when I used to study at
00:03:15
cafes something I would always do is
00:03:18
about every 30 minutes I would get up I
00:03:20
would go outside and I would either do a
00:03:22
handstand or I would do a bunch of
00:03:24
jumping jacks or push-ups or I would jog
00:03:27
down the street and come back
00:03:30
and it really worked you know I got a
00:03:32
lot of things done I was able to learn
00:03:34
the language a lot better because of
00:03:36
that and I really think this whole blood
00:03:38
flow thing I'm talking about is
00:03:40
extremely
00:03:41
underrated so that's my goal here today
00:03:44
I want you guys to do it too so please
00:03:47
take this advice run with it literally
00:03:50
jump with it whatever you have to do
00:03:51
just use it because blood flow really
00:03:53
does help you learn things a lot faster
00:03:56
I don't care if you have to go buy some
00:03:58
things to keep it the house to pick up
00:04:01
go run down the street and Chase a stray
00:04:03
cat it doesn't matter whatever is going
00:04:05
to help your productivity keep that in
00:04:07
mind the more you think about that your
00:04:09
productivity and your ability to learn
00:04:10
things fast the more you will not care
00:04:13
about anything else you'll just do what
00:04:15
you have to do especially if you're in
00:04:17
public we'll come back to the physical
00:04:19
state in a minute but here's an
00:04:21
important question that you should ask
00:04:23
yourself is this something I will use my
00:04:25
entire life or you could say will this
00:04:28
benefit my life if it's only a season
00:04:32
like a university for example what this
00:04:34
is going to do is going to make you
00:04:36
change your identity as a person and I'm
00:04:38
not talking about turning super saiyan
00:04:40
or anything else I'm talking about just
00:04:42
the person you think you are so say
00:04:45
you're studying a foreign
00:04:47
language rather than saying hey I just
00:04:49
study here and there or I know a few
00:04:53
vocab that kind of thing it's better to
00:04:55
start seeing yourself as someone who
00:04:58
just speaks the language you you don't
00:04:59
have to go around telling people but I
00:05:02
want you to start seeing yourself as a
00:05:04
person who speaks Japanese or speaks
00:05:07
Spanish or German or whatever you're
00:05:09
learning because you're going to start
00:05:12
to go through the motions of someone who
00:05:14
speaks that language as far as identity
00:05:17
goes the same can be applied to maybe if
00:05:20
you're learning a musical instrument
00:05:22
rather than saying you're a person who
00:05:24
just kind of plays here and there you're
00:05:27
actually going to start to identify as a
00:05:28
musician or a piano player or a guitar
00:05:31
player or whatever you like to do maybe
00:05:34
you're a painter an engineer a writer a
00:05:37
content creator I don't know just start
00:05:39
to see yourself as that person and this
00:05:42
is going to help you shift your identity
00:05:45
from a casual who's not going to really
00:05:48
be good at anything or learn anything
00:05:50
fast into someone who will learn that
00:05:53
not only fast but efficiently so why is
00:05:57
this important well reason number one
00:05:59
one is it's going to make you value your
00:06:01
time a lot more and the good part about
00:06:04
this is that you're going to naturally
00:06:06
stop doing things that waste your time
00:06:09
this includes things like social media
00:06:12
video games alcohol bad foods uh just
00:06:15
whatever gets in the way of you managing
00:06:19
your time well now I'm not saying these
00:06:21
are bad things well alcohol is kind of
00:06:23
bad you should probably stop that but if
00:06:27
you value something a lot it's going to
00:06:29
a lot easier to cut out those things
00:06:31
that are not really matching with your
00:06:33
identity I hope that makes sense and
00:06:35
this is just general life advice right
00:06:37
here if you want to stop a bad habit
00:06:40
like drinking or eating bad foods rather
00:06:43
than trying to stop all you have to do
00:06:45
is find something that's equally or more
00:06:48
enticing to replace it with and it
00:06:50
doesn't have to be in the same category
00:06:52
like if you're trying not to drink you
00:06:54
don't have to find a better drink or
00:06:57
something equally as good is alcohol try
00:07:00
to find something that occupies your
00:07:03
mind a little bit more and then you may
00:07:06
see the adverse effects of alcohol as a
00:07:08
detriment to what you're trying to do I
00:07:10
know this personally though I was never
00:07:13
a big drinker I used to drink umu and
00:07:17
chuhai in Japan if you've ever lived
00:07:19
there you know what I mean and one thing
00:07:22
I noticed is that whenever I did drink
00:07:24
those if I had like boxing or kickboxing
00:07:27
practice the next day I was just not
00:07:29
operating well and same with
00:07:31
productivity in general language
00:07:33
learning practicing my music I just
00:07:35
couldn't really function well so as my
00:07:38
love for those things grew a lot more I
00:07:41
naturally just stopped drinking even to
00:07:44
the point where I forget that alcohol
00:07:46
exists personally I haven't drank in the
00:07:48
last four years I think and it's not
00:07:51
because I stopped I allow myself to
00:07:52
drink whenever I want I just haven't
00:07:54
because I'm so into these other things I
00:07:57
bring all this up to say let that
00:08:00
naturally happen don't try to force
00:08:03
these things to go away just let it
00:08:04
naturally happen and again the more you
00:08:06
shift your identity the more you're
00:08:08
going to value your time and the more
00:08:10
you're going to cut out these things
00:08:12
that don't really serve your time well
00:08:15
but as a strong caution do not rush into
00:08:18
this because whatever you're
00:08:21
replacing your time with is probably
00:08:23
something you're going to do for the
00:08:25
rest of your life so Choose Wisely okay
00:08:28
reason number two to is going to get you
00:08:31
out of the feeling of dreading practice
00:08:33
or study so the quicker you can get
00:08:36
yourself into that identity of the
00:08:38
painter or the writer or the person who
00:08:41
speaks that language or plays that
00:08:43
instrument or knows certain course
00:08:45
material or whatever the quicker you can
00:08:49
understand that practice and study is
00:08:51
just a part of the daily routine and
00:08:54
that's just the way it is and again this
00:08:56
is just going to make you value your
00:08:58
time more now with both of these reasons
00:09:01
Don't Force It I'm going to say that
00:09:04
again I don't know how many times I've
00:09:05
said it but Don't Force It Whatever you
00:09:08
find yourself wanting to do more just
00:09:11
ease into that identify with that and
00:09:14
naturally those other things will go
00:09:16
away that get in your way now of course
00:09:18
if you're like addicted to social
00:09:20
media you drink every day or things like
00:09:24
that you may want to address that like
00:09:26
today right after this video really
00:09:30
but if it's not that bad ease into your
00:09:33
real identity and let those other things
00:09:35
dwindle away on their own another
00:09:38
important aspect of learning things fast
00:09:41
and efficiently is that there is no such
00:09:43
thing as fast and easy in most cases so
00:09:47
right away I want to say that you can
00:09:49
learn things fast and honestly I think
00:09:52
the faster the better because you can
00:09:54
enjoy it sooner but just don't think
00:09:57
that it's going to be easy and in fact
00:09:59
it's usually the opposite you will
00:10:02
commonly see this in videos around
00:10:04
language learning learning an instrument
00:10:08
maybe passing school increasing your
00:10:10
value as a person overall or building
00:10:12
your dream body or making money online
00:10:15
and so on I can go on but you guys know
00:10:19
it's always this fast effortless easy no
00:10:22
thinking involved just push this button
00:10:25
activate your dreams I'm going to tell
00:10:27
you now make it a point to stop
00:10:30
consuming these types of videos you know
00:10:32
it's sad that Humanity has kind of
00:10:34
gotten to the point where we feel the
00:10:36
need to use all these click baity
00:10:39
selling dream titles just to get people
00:10:42
to listen to us but I want to save you
00:10:44
years of your life by telling you none
00:10:46
of that works none of it the 10-minute
00:10:49
ABS the 20 minute millionaire all this
00:10:52
stuff it does not work okay if it's a
00:10:55
fast route you can assume that it's
00:10:56
going to be difficult but again that's a
00:10:58
good thing I do have really good news
00:11:00
though if you even made it to this part
00:11:02
of the
00:11:03
video I do think you're one of those
00:11:05
people that can take that difficult
00:11:08
route and learn things a lot faster and
00:11:10
I'm not saying that to gas you up or
00:11:12
anything I really believe that if you
00:11:16
have the ability to just sit down and
00:11:19
watch me talk about this kind of thing
00:11:21
then you do have it in you you may have
00:11:24
to get some things out of the way like I
00:11:26
certainly had to but you do have it in
00:11:28
you and the cool thing about
00:11:30
difficulties is that the more difficult
00:11:32
things that you do over the years of you
00:11:34
doing them it's actually going to feel a
00:11:36
lot easier or just easy in general I
00:11:39
have a video about this by the way I'll
00:11:41
put it in the
00:11:42
description okay back to the physical
00:11:44
aspect of things the next thing I want
00:11:46
to get into is relaxation and
00:11:50
focus now I know I just talked about
00:11:52
handstands and stretching in the cafe
00:11:55
and running up and down the street
00:11:56
chasing a straight cat or whatever else
00:11:58
I said but one of the most important
00:12:00
things you can do for your body when it
00:12:03
comes to learning things especially
00:12:04
things that require muscle memory is to
00:12:07
relax your body you can do this right
00:12:09
away by paying attention to your
00:12:11
breathing and your posture so if you're
00:12:13
slumped over like a caveman trying to
00:12:15
start a fire on the ground and force for
00:12:18
food you're really not going to get as
00:12:20
much oxygen as you need to in your lungs
00:12:22
and diaphragm this isn't good because
00:12:25
oxygen it needs to go to the brain as
00:12:27
well to help you operate better to help
00:12:29
you think better as well as your muscles
00:12:32
are going to start to hurt on your back
00:12:34
your neck your shoulders may hurt and
00:12:37
you know those people who have the
00:12:39
computer posture you might have it
00:12:40
yourself actually I know I used to now
00:12:42
don't overstress this don't think that
00:12:45
whenever you're slumped over you're only
00:12:47
operating at 2% of your power that's not
00:12:50
what I mean I just mean that it's
00:12:52
something that you want to start being
00:12:53
aware
00:12:54
of and here and there give yourself a
00:12:58
cue to straighten up take a deep breath
00:13:01
relax and then get back to what you're
00:13:04
doing you know I've been playing music
00:13:07
for a while now piano and guitar and
00:13:10
occasionally well often really I still
00:13:12
find myself slumped over like a shrimp
00:13:15
trying to play a certain note or trying
00:13:17
to play a certain scale or chord
00:13:19
progression and then I have to reshift
00:13:21
my focus back to my posture back to my
00:13:24
breathing and then relax everything and
00:13:26
get back to work the point is to catch
00:13:28
yourself doing this as much as you can
00:13:31
and you'll naturally see that your
00:13:33
posture will just straighten out and
00:13:35
your breathing will straighten out as
00:13:36
well and you won't have to cue yourself
00:13:38
as much but if you're new to it yeah
00:13:41
every 5 seconds or so you're probably
00:13:43
going to slump over but that's okay I
00:13:45
started there too the next point is
00:13:47
focus now I'm not going to get into
00:13:50
Focus too deep I think that deserves its
00:13:52
own video but one of the main things you
00:13:54
can do is just to remove all of the
00:13:57
distractions as possible as especially
00:13:59
if you have
00:14:00
ADHD this pretty much just means
00:14:02
removing anything that's not involved
00:14:04
with your goal and usually it's your
00:14:08
phone let's just be honest now if you're
00:14:10
using your phone to
00:14:12
study it's fine but try to remove the
00:14:15
apps that you may accidentally slip into
00:14:18
I know me personally one of my
00:14:20
weaknesses is that if I'm studying on my
00:14:23
phone and Instagram is on my phone or I
00:14:26
have something else on my phone I
00:14:27
naturally can just click it
00:14:29
and not even think about it I can be
00:14:31
scrolling on Instagram and not realize
00:14:33
it until I'm already looking through
00:14:36
several reels so what I have to do is
00:14:39
delete it off my phone and then I just
00:14:41
redownload it later maybe you don't have
00:14:43
to do that but if you have a problem
00:14:46
managing that I would say just try it
00:14:48
but again if you're stronger than me
00:14:50
then all power to you I can't do that I
00:14:53
just know my limits so I'm offering that
00:14:55
idea to you as well and the last one
00:14:57
we'll go over today is priming and
00:15:01
visualization so priming and
00:15:03
visualization are really just seeing
00:15:06
yourself as that thing that you're
00:15:08
trying to become and I'm not talking
00:15:10
about like some uh New Age spirituality
00:15:13
type thing I'm not talking about that
00:15:16
what I'm really referring to is your
00:15:17
brain's mirror neurons now I'm not going
00:15:20
to get into that you can look that up on
00:15:22
your own I'm not a doctor or scientist
00:15:25
it's something that I think you should
00:15:26
read about though mirror neurons
00:15:28
mimicking in general and basically it's
00:15:31
going to help prime your body to learn
00:15:34
that skill a lot faster this is really
00:15:37
really useful in muscle memory piano
00:15:40
guitar Combat Sports any sport that you
00:15:44
want to do dancing whatever it is that
00:15:46
involves muscle memory this is extremely
00:15:48
important because it'll just speed up
00:15:50
that process the gist of mirror neurons
00:15:54
is as you watch other people do
00:15:56
something or you visualize yourself
00:15:59
doing it especially if you've practiced
00:16:01
it just a little bit or beforehand it
00:16:05
actually strengthens your ability to do
00:16:07
it again just Google this on your own do
00:16:11
some research on just visualization
00:16:13
mirror neurons in general but it's
00:16:15
something that you really want to
00:16:16
implement when it comes to learning
00:16:18
things faster and more efficiently the
00:16:20
three areas I've really benefited from
00:16:22
this in is Combat Sports piano and
00:16:26
guitar all three of these things are
00:16:28
basically just musle memory and
00:16:29
repetition that's really what it is at
00:16:32
the core and something I noticed is that
00:16:34
as I see myself do these things better
00:16:36
and better more efficiently especially
00:16:39
Combos and sparring or things like that
00:16:43
it really just happens second nature I
00:16:45
don't know how to explain it again you
00:16:47
want to really Google this on your own
00:16:49
but mirror neurons priming visualization
00:16:52
that kind of thing it's kind of a cheat
00:16:54
code to just maximizing your ability to
00:16:57
learn things that being said let's do a
00:17:00
quick recap so we talked about the
00:17:03
physical state of the body which mainly
00:17:06
today we talked about blood flow and how
00:17:10
you want to do this before you engage in
00:17:12
that activity as well as during we also
00:17:15
talked about relaxation and focus
00:17:18
breathing in posture is what you really
00:17:20
want to focus on for now we also went
00:17:23
over some important Concepts in general
00:17:25
like asking yourself is this something I
00:17:28
will use for my entire life or will this
00:17:31
benefit me for my entire life the main
00:17:33
focus here is to shift our identity
00:17:36
again you're not trying to transform as
00:17:39
a person and fly off in the outer space
00:17:42
or anything we're just talking about
00:17:44
seeing yourself as someone who's well
00:17:48
versed in that area that you're thinking
00:17:50
about that's going to help you value
00:17:52
your time more and I really want to
00:17:55
emphasize naturally getting rid of those
00:17:57
things that get in the way
00:17:59
rather than forcing it and it's going to
00:18:01
get you out of the feeling of dreading
00:18:04
practice or study we also went over the
00:18:07
fact that there's usually no such thing
00:18:09
as fast and easy if it's fast it's going
00:18:12
to be difficult but if you really made
00:18:14
it this far you definitely got it so I
00:18:17
believe in you stop falling for Content
00:18:20
or courses or anything that says you can
00:18:23
do something fast and easy because again
00:18:26
in most cases that doesn't exist anyhow
00:18:30
