- 00:00:00all right guys welcome to Today's Show
- 00:00:02we've got coach Nick with us Nick's been
- 00:00:04working with us for four and a half
- 00:00:06months now and when I first met Nick we
- 00:00:09had a call and you're like hey I'm
- 00:00:10trying to crack this this school group
- 00:00:13thing I'm charging like 20 30 bucks a
- 00:00:15month somewhere somewhere around there
- 00:00:17and um like how do I make this thing
- 00:00:19work well have you done High tickets yet
- 00:00:22you know it's probably easier to you
- 00:00:23know do high ticket then grow the
- 00:00:25community and I think something just
- 00:00:26like clicked for you and after that that
- 00:00:29was just like a call we had you're like
- 00:00:31I want some help can can you help me I
- 00:00:33like yeah bro I can help you that's what
- 00:00:34we do we linked up and we've been
- 00:00:35working together for four and a half
- 00:00:37months now and I think you just passed
- 00:00:39your first 20K month right yeah the that
- 00:00:42call was the most impactful hour for me
- 00:00:45that I've ever had when it comes to to
- 00:00:47my my business and the ability to make
- 00:00:49money online and and for me it was like
- 00:00:51man you were just speaking codes into my
- 00:00:53soul where I was like had someone said
- 00:00:55this to me two months ago I would have
- 00:00:56saved so much time but yeah the
- 00:00:58situation that I was in so I launched a
- 00:01:00school Community a weight loss School
- 00:01:03community in July and was charging 29
- 00:01:06bucks a month for it and had like 75
- 00:01:09people in there you know was making
- 00:01:11almost two grand a month or so but was
- 00:01:12putting so much effort into stopping
- 00:01:15people from churning in the program and
- 00:01:17I realized that I'm actually doing an
- 00:01:18injustice to People by charging a
- 00:01:20Netflix subscription for such an
- 00:01:22intensive program because people weren't
- 00:01:23taking it seriously at all and the
- 00:01:25conversation that you and I had was why
- 00:01:27not just repackage this into something
- 00:01:29that is a higher ticket service because
- 00:01:31I was kind of offering almost a high
- 00:01:33ticket service already just for $29 a
- 00:01:35month so repackaging the pricing model
- 00:01:38and then just selling the group program
- 00:01:40in school as a one-time fee for $11,000
- 00:01:43was the first thing that I did when we
- 00:01:45started working together and when I
- 00:01:47signed up for growth accelerator that
- 00:01:48was one of the first switches and that
- 00:01:50one switch alone was the only thing that
- 00:01:52I changed in addition to I'm getting
- 00:01:54into your guys's version of go high
- 00:01:57level and using that for book and calls
- 00:01:59I did a call booking process and started
- 00:02:02selling over the phone I went from 1,500
- 00:02:04bucks a month in really high churn to
- 00:02:0717K collected in that first month and
- 00:02:10way more buyin so it was this really
- 00:02:12interesting for me this this journey has
- 00:02:14been a really confronting almost
- 00:02:16spiritual journey for me in a way
- 00:02:18because it feels weird selling a service
- 00:02:20for $1,000 that was previously $29 a
- 00:02:23month but as the $1,000 people came in
- 00:02:26they all started seeing way more results
- 00:02:28and they all were way more B and I was
- 00:02:30like wow this actually feels really good
- 00:02:31to sell it for this cost and now I can't
- 00:02:34imagine the idea of ever selling
- 00:02:36something for so cheap made no
- 00:02:38it just made no no sense at all so man
- 00:02:40that one call alone was so life-changing
- 00:02:42for me and it changed my whole
- 00:02:44perspective on my life mission why I'm
- 00:02:46here and the fact that I actually owe it
- 00:02:47to people to charge them something
- 00:02:49that's going to make them take it
- 00:02:50seriously it's crazy it's crazy but it's
- 00:02:53so true and I think uh everyone on this
- 00:02:55train right now is like the low ticket
- 00:02:57School group and stuff like that it's
- 00:02:59like hey you know yeah that can work but
- 00:03:00the game is so different like you said
- 00:03:02you're you're just trying to battle
- 00:03:03churn you know and that's really hard
- 00:03:06for a new business owner and if you
- 00:03:07don't already have like money recurring
- 00:03:09that's coming in that's paying the bills
- 00:03:11and stuff like that because you're just
- 00:03:12like sweating my turn ratees at 15 20% I
- 00:03:15gotta get down to 10% versus like well
- 00:03:16if I signed up you know five people at
- 00:03:19$1,000 this month you there's 5K yeah
- 00:03:22the churn is not as big of a deal and
- 00:03:24sometimes people even use the low ticket
- 00:03:25communities to grow to ascend into the
- 00:03:28high ticket but you're spot on of like
- 00:03:30people will if people invest a
- 00:03:32significant amount of money that they
- 00:03:33deem significant they have much more
- 00:03:35buying so it's to see as a sole operator
- 00:03:38too in a business I feel that the idea
- 00:03:41of going low ticket to high ticket it
- 00:03:42didn't make sense for me personally and
- 00:03:44I just haven't seen that's kind of
- 00:03:45what's getting preached from the the
- 00:03:47Alex Heros down right now a little bit I
- 00:03:49just haven't seen that work for a lot of
- 00:03:51people that are operating on their own
- 00:03:52or maybe have a VA that makes way more
- 00:03:55sense if you have coaches in your
- 00:03:56program that are reaching out to people
- 00:03:57to help maintain that relationship but
- 00:03:59for me I'm like the the idea of staying
- 00:04:02in enough contact with 70 people in
- 00:04:04addition to everything else that I'm
- 00:04:05doing in my business to keep them
- 00:04:06interested there was no way that I that
- 00:04:09I could do it and kind of like what you
- 00:04:11said I I feel that for me especially but
- 00:04:13for most people that aren't really
- 00:04:14thinking in this way one of the best
- 00:04:16things that that I did that you advised
- 00:04:18me on was selling High ticket sell that
- 00:04:20high ticket as a as a three four five or
- 00:04:23six month container whatever works for
- 00:04:24your business for me I do it's a 12we
- 00:04:26program followed by 12 additional weeks
- 00:04:28of staying in the community community
- 00:04:29and in the group for integration but
- 00:04:31after that 6 months to stay in I then
- 00:04:34start charging monthly so there's where
- 00:04:36the Mr starts coming in for the people
- 00:04:38that are really really bought in and
- 00:04:39that feels more like a low ticket sort
- 00:04:41of offer so going from high to
- 00:04:43transitioning them into low has worked
- 00:04:45way better for me than trying to go from
- 00:04:46low to high yeah that's the way to do it
- 00:04:48I I don't know if you familiar with Alex
- 00:04:50Becker he's the founder of hyros which
- 00:04:52is a a tracking software that I use but
- 00:04:54he made a video not too long ago and it
- 00:04:56talks about that it's like selling High
- 00:04:58ticket is easier because if it cost you
- 00:05:00$500 to get a client you to say you sell
- 00:05:02a $1,000 program you just made 500 bucks
- 00:05:05if you can get them to stick and then at
- 00:05:07the end now become a monthly recurring
- 00:05:09member you can grow that low ticket or
- 00:05:12Mr business and get paid on the front
- 00:05:15end where like if you're trying to run
- 00:05:17ads to low ticket it you typically lose
- 00:05:19money you typically lose like you get a
- 00:05:210.25 to 0.5 return which is like you
- 00:05:24know I put a dollar in I get 25 to 50
- 00:05:26cents out and they might stay to me that
- 00:05:28seems stressful just like you know
- 00:05:30putting in $500 and getting a th000 you
- 00:05:32know or putting 500 in if you're if
- 00:05:34you're good you should get a four times
- 00:05:35return you put 500 in you get 2,000 back
- 00:05:38now we're talking and that's just on the
- 00:05:40front end not talking about the back end
- 00:05:42so yeah what I love about school
- 00:05:44communities in general or any
- 00:05:45communities that people are using is
- 00:05:47just how flexible they are and how
- 00:05:48quickly you can change your business
- 00:05:50model so that that was something that I
- 00:05:51hadn't really considered is we had that
- 00:05:53conversation I I changed things in in
- 00:05:54one week my business looked entirely
- 00:05:56different and that's what I love about
- 00:05:58the way that that we're doing things in
- 00:06:00growth accelerator in your program is
- 00:06:02this concept of using Community as just
- 00:06:05a host of things but it's really really
- 00:06:07really flexible the way that we can
- 00:06:09change people's involvement in the
- 00:06:10community how they're paying to get into
- 00:06:12that community so having that
- 00:06:13flexibility to change the offer again
- 00:06:15and again to figure out what works is I
- 00:06:17think that's really the key to success
- 00:06:18instead of just locking yourself into
- 00:06:20pay this amount per month to join my
- 00:06:21school community and get stuck in that
- 00:06:23one platform yeah I mean dude I do the
- 00:06:25same thing we've changed our prices last
- 00:06:26year three times and then this year
- 00:06:29we've already changed it once I mean
- 00:06:30business is a puzzle right it's like
- 00:06:32okay you've got Marketing sales and
- 00:06:34fulfillment there's always variables
- 00:06:36you're trying to change or optimize to
- 00:06:38allow you to get the most freedom and
- 00:06:40flexibility in your life make decent
- 00:06:42money while also giving your clients
- 00:06:44like really really good results so yeah
- 00:06:47I I like that what i' what I'd like to
- 00:06:49to transition to and and for those who
- 00:06:51are watching this we're going to dive in
- 00:06:52index business we're going to learn more
- 00:06:53about his offer his sales process and
- 00:06:56his marketing strategy but before that
- 00:06:58Nick I want you to share just like your
- 00:06:59personal transformation story cuz I
- 00:07:01think that's really what what sets you
- 00:07:03apart from a lot of other coaches that
- 00:07:04I've met and it's also allowed you to
- 00:07:06grow your audience pretty pretty quick
- 00:07:09like in the past like year year right
- 00:07:11like since you're prosing so share with
- 00:07:12us uh your your your personal health
- 00:07:14Journey yeah thanks for asking I was
- 00:07:16really fat my entire life I could do it
- 00:07:18three hours on my personal Journey so
- 00:07:19I'll keep it to what's digestible I was
- 00:07:22really fat my entire life and I grew up
- 00:07:23in a household where food was not
- 00:07:25healthfully prioritized the way that it
- 00:07:28is in my life now and it led to me
- 00:07:31losing and gaining back anywhere from 50
- 00:07:33to 75 pounds per year from 2013 to 2019
- 00:07:38on every single diet that anyone on
- 00:07:40Instagram has ever talked about keto
- 00:07:42carnivore intermittent fasting If It
- 00:07:44Fits your Macros one meal a day
- 00:07:45obsessive My Fitness Pal logging um
- 00:07:48Weight Watchers everything that anyone's
- 00:07:50ever tried juice cleanses right and I
- 00:07:52found that for me I realized that the
- 00:07:54way that you lose weight really dictates
- 00:07:56the sustainability of of your results
- 00:07:58and I realized that as much as I was
- 00:08:00trying to fix my fat body I never
- 00:08:02addressed any of the issues that led to
- 00:08:03my obesity in the first place or any of
- 00:08:05the issues that led to my negative
- 00:08:06relationship with food emotional eating
- 00:08:08binge eating coping my dopamine system
- 00:08:11was totally fried so what I did in 2019
- 00:08:15was I committed to having my last day
- 00:08:17one ever and I built a diet for myself
- 00:08:20that I call the common sense diet and
- 00:08:24just learned how to have balance with
- 00:08:25food learned how to standardize
- 00:08:27unhealthy meals taught myself how to
- 00:08:30stick to a plan how to work through
- 00:08:33Cravings how to make proper portion
- 00:08:35sizes how to navigate social situations
- 00:08:38how to have conversations with people
- 00:08:40about my weight loss Journey connecting
- 00:08:42with my why stepping into a healthy
- 00:08:44identity really did all the work on my
- 00:08:46mindset that no diet really inherently
- 00:08:48teaches you and I just did I did it non-
- 00:08:50obsessively you know and it led to me
- 00:08:51losing over 100 pounds about10 lbs from
- 00:08:542019 to 2020 in that whole journey I
- 00:08:56videoed myself every day coaching myself
- 00:08:59through sustainable weight loss so it
- 00:09:01was really hard for me because every
- 00:09:02coach that I ever hired every program
- 00:09:05that I was ever in it never really went
- 00:09:06further than like here's your meal plan
- 00:09:08here's your Macros and oh you didn't
- 00:09:10stick to your Macros well that's okay
- 00:09:12let's be better at sticking to our
- 00:09:13macros this week it's like dude you
- 00:09:14don't understand what's happening in my
- 00:09:16head right and weight loss was kind of
- 00:09:19it was taught to me as this like Nike
- 00:09:20commercial of just do it just eat less
- 00:09:22move more by every coach I ever worked
- 00:09:24with and I never actually address like
- 00:09:26any of the capital T or lower lowercase
- 00:09:28T trauma that led to me being stuck in
- 00:09:30this fat mind and feeling pole towards
- 00:09:32unhealthy foods and seditary lifestyle
- 00:09:35so I built out a whole system for myself
- 00:09:37wrote it all down 2019 to 2020 and then
- 00:09:39January of 2024 started posting stuff on
- 00:09:42Instagram I've got these old videos from
- 00:09:43when I was fat talking about how I'm
- 00:09:45going to lose weight and then here I am
- 00:09:46now at 170 lbs right and I've kept it
- 00:09:49off for 5 years and the reason why I'd
- 00:09:51experienced um you know growing over
- 00:09:53200,000 Instagram followers in a year
- 00:09:55having one of the biggest weight loss
- 00:09:56podcasts in the world and after just 3
- 00:09:58or four months of podcasting and not
- 00:10:00knowing what I was doing was because I
- 00:10:02actually actually did it and I did it in
- 00:10:04a way that I'm not actually really on a
- 00:10:06diet this concept of the Common Sense
- 00:10:08diet is actually just a balanced
- 00:10:10approach so most of the advice that
- 00:10:11people receive online from people that
- 00:10:13lost weight comes from people that still
- 00:10:15live in some form of some form of
- 00:10:17restriction so my perspective has been
- 00:10:18really unique and it's the perspective I
- 00:10:21always wanted somebody to teach me but I
- 00:10:23couldn't find it so I just became the
- 00:10:24person that teaching what I wish
- 00:10:26somebody would have taught me but I
- 00:10:27actually had to teach myself yeah I love
- 00:10:29that I I I've got some more fall
- 00:10:30questions that so you said you're at 170
- 00:10:33now what what were you at your like
- 00:10:35heaviest
- 00:10:36274 D 74 and you're not like a a tall
- 00:10:40you're not super tall right you're six
- 00:10:42foot I'm six foot you know six foot
- 00:10:43should be
- 00:10:44[Laughter]
- 00:10:48enough no I I really like this because
- 00:10:51this is also what's not taught like you
- 00:10:52know I got my degree in exercise
- 00:10:54physiology and then I got my doctorate
- 00:10:56in physical therapy and you know talked
- 00:10:58about motiv interviewing kind of where
- 00:11:00it stops it's like motivational
- 00:11:03interviewing do that and then here's how
- 00:11:05to breathe kind of but not really like
- 00:11:07you know what I mean like we didn't
- 00:11:07really learn a lot of this stuff and and
- 00:11:10you're so right of like oh your Macros
- 00:11:12you failed this week just do it next
- 00:11:14week you're like that's not coaching you
- 00:11:15know what I mean like that's it's not
- 00:11:17going to do it and the people that have
- 00:11:18the hard time sticking to the results
- 00:11:21and seeing the results is because they
- 00:11:22they haven't figured out the mind game
- 00:11:24so I'm curious you kind of transition
- 00:11:26into your offer like how do you package
- 00:11:29that into an offering to help yeah to
- 00:11:31help people it's an amazing question
- 00:11:33it's so true too right it's the people
- 00:11:35that I see I want to address what you
- 00:11:37said before we get into that the the
- 00:11:38people that we see that kind of just
- 00:11:40goggin their way to permanent weight
- 00:11:41loss right they just like I I I'm just
- 00:11:44going to do it I'm just going to
- 00:11:45discipline my way to permanent results
- 00:11:47part of what's not understood is that to
- 00:11:50do that you have to exist in that
- 00:11:51discipline forever so what I'm saying is
- 00:11:53if you're going to cut out carbs to lose
- 00:11:54weight you lose 100 pounds from cutting
- 00:11:57out carbs because you're in a calorie
- 00:11:58deficit not because the carbs are making
- 00:12:00you fat that once you returned to eating
- 00:12:01carbs you never learned how to have
- 00:12:03balance around the carbs so it it
- 00:12:04triggers all of this stuff that we're
- 00:12:06just avoiding an issue right the actual
- 00:12:09only answer that I have found for
- 00:12:10sustainable results is addressing
- 00:12:12permanent Lifestyle Changes addressing
- 00:12:14relationship with food and making it so
- 00:12:17that food is not such a centerpiece of
- 00:12:19your life by connecting more to it not
- 00:12:21by disconnecting from it so what I did
- 00:12:23was built something called The Common
- 00:12:25Sense diet system the way that this is
- 00:12:27packaged is in a 12 week course when I
- 00:12:30built this for myself it was a little
- 00:12:32bit different it wasn't quite as
- 00:12:34organized but going back and referencing
- 00:12:36what I had written down on a notepad
- 00:12:37almost five or six years ago and then
- 00:12:39building off of my own experience was
- 00:12:41one of the most the most rewarding and
- 00:12:43Blissful experiences of my of my entire
- 00:12:45life but the first thing that we do is
- 00:12:47we teach people how to standardize on
- 00:12:50anywhere from 5 to 10 meals that are
- 00:12:53made of mostly whole in natural foods
- 00:12:55that already fit inside of their calorie
- 00:12:57goals so what we do is we measure each
- 00:12:59meal one time we take a picture of the
- 00:13:01meal the next time we make the meal we
- 00:13:03just reference the picture to be give or
- 00:13:04take five or 10% does that make sense
- 00:13:06yeah yeah like that we remove all the
- 00:13:08what am I going to eat we make every
- 00:13:10meal less than 10 minutes to make so
- 00:13:12we're not slow cooking chicken having to
- 00:13:14Temp everything we're rotisserie chicken
- 00:13:16we're using frozen vegetables we're just
- 00:13:18as easy as we possibly can to remove all
- 00:13:21of that I don't want to their meals that
- 00:13:23are built off of people's preferences
- 00:13:24that leads to people losing 2 to three
- 00:13:26pounds a week most of the time right
- 00:13:27from the beginning and then right when
- 00:13:29when we get into the second week of the
- 00:13:30program and this program is entirely
- 00:13:31self-paced it's we start addressing our
- 00:13:34why this is one of the biggest things we
- 00:13:36do is I walk people through an exercise
- 00:13:40of connecting with what their life is
- 00:13:42going to be like after 10 years of
- 00:13:43healthy decisions versus what their life
- 00:13:45is going to be like after 10 years of
- 00:13:47unhealthy decisions and all of my
- 00:13:49clients videoed themselves talking
- 00:13:50through that process so when we feel
- 00:13:53like we don't want to do something we
- 00:13:54reference ourselves to learn how to
- 00:13:56motivate ourselves instead of relying on
- 00:13:57me because working with the weight loss
- 00:13:59coach is actually inherently
- 00:14:01unsustainable unless you learn the tools
- 00:14:03and learn how to be your own coach so
- 00:14:05that's really the basis of my program
- 00:14:07yeah and then we we graduate into
- 00:14:09navigating social situations reframing
- 00:14:12our language from I'm losing weight to
- 00:14:14I'm prioritizing my health learning how
- 00:14:16to work through scale Obsession all
- 00:14:18these things that fat people deal with
- 00:14:20but they never talk about wanting to
- 00:14:22weigh ourselves every day feeling
- 00:14:23defeated when we don't lose weight dayto
- 00:14:25day we just give practical tools the
- 00:14:27biggest difference between what I'm
- 00:14:28teach teaching and and what I was taught
- 00:14:30was that uh it's all built on exposure
- 00:14:32therapy so everything that I'm talking
- 00:14:34about we actually practice it's not
- 00:14:36Theory it's literally you are obsessed
- 00:14:38with weighing yourself every day we're
- 00:14:40not going to just put the scale away
- 00:14:42forever we're going to learn how to sit
- 00:14:43there and look at the scale and learn
- 00:14:45Comfort here being able to not do that
- 00:14:48day to-day over time because if you just
- 00:14:49throw away the thing that that is
- 00:14:50triggering you and making you feel bad
- 00:14:52you're never going to learn how to have
- 00:14:53balance with it so we really address
- 00:14:55every single possible thing that has
- 00:14:58ever led to people quitting
- 00:14:59plateaus social situations drinking
- 00:15:01alcohol and uh we talk about things that
- 00:15:03are real man we dive into weight loss in
- 00:15:05sex weight loss in Partnerships weight
- 00:15:07loss and dating weight loss and Social
- 00:15:09Circles and we get down to all the
- 00:15:11things that people don't really want to
- 00:15:12talk about but it's actually really
- 00:15:14healing yeah I want to ask question did
- 00:15:16you say that you had them create their
- 00:15:17why and record a video and then watch
- 00:15:20that video when things get hard yeah
- 00:15:23that's awesome that is so cool I
- 00:15:26actually haven't heard that and I I
- 00:15:27think that's so powerful like okay I've
- 00:15:29done some stuff in the past where I I'll
- 00:15:31do the visualization stuff where I'll
- 00:15:32say like uh mantras or affirmations and
- 00:15:34I've recorded them and I'll listen to
- 00:15:36myself seeing them but that's a whole
- 00:15:38different level I love so most people
- 00:15:40that are really overweight struggle with
- 00:15:42some sort of relationship with food
- 00:15:43issue and our relationship with food is
- 00:15:45typically indicative of our relationship
- 00:15:47with ourselves so we can actually learn
- 00:15:48self-improvement through improving our
- 00:15:50relationship with food one of the
- 00:15:52biggest moments that most of my clients
- 00:15:54go through is everybody's got their food
- 00:15:57that they just can't stop eating or they
- 00:15:58have constant cravings for it's a cute
- 00:16:00dog and what we do to help work through
- 00:16:02Cravings there's all these different
- 00:16:03strategies but the biggest one is
- 00:16:06literally videoing yourself
- 00:16:08acknowledging the fact that it's 11:00
- 00:16:10at night and you want to get some Ben
- 00:16:11and Jerry's ice cream delivered on door
- 00:16:13Dash like to literally first acknowledge
- 00:16:14it I logically recognize that my desire
- 00:16:18for insert the reason why you want to
- 00:16:20lose weight here is more important to me
- 00:16:22than eating this ice cream and I
- 00:16:23recognize that I will feel worse after I
- 00:16:25eat it I'm going to just say no this one
- 00:16:27time I'm not committing to never eating
- 00:16:29ice cream again just to prove to myself
- 00:16:30that I can build a reference point here
- 00:16:32and then we wake up the next morning we
- 00:16:33record another video I did it and I feel
- 00:16:36great and I don't regret that I didn't
- 00:16:37eat the ice cream then anytime that we
- 00:16:39have that craving again we just go watch
- 00:16:40the video and like most people have
- 00:16:42never done that one time you do that one
- 00:16:45time you forever know that you have the
- 00:16:47ability to not do that and you combine
- 00:16:48that mindset work with practical
- 00:16:50nutritional advice so that you stop
- 00:16:52having the same Cravings cuz you're
- 00:16:53properly nourishing your body and people
- 00:16:55suddenly are like I'm not thinking about
- 00:16:56food anymore so one to two weeks in
- 00:16:58people mindset starts changing when you
- 00:17:00stop thinking about food all the time
- 00:17:02for a fat person you're able to start
- 00:17:04thinking about all these other things in
- 00:17:05life so people call that skinny
- 00:17:07privilege you lose weight and then your
- 00:17:09life gets better it's really just that
- 00:17:10you stop thinking about it so much so
- 00:17:12you can put more energy into other
- 00:17:14things is the course self-paced is it
- 00:17:17just like a school group what's that
- 00:17:18look like so I have two different offers
- 00:17:20I have a group only offer and I have a
- 00:17:22one-on-one offer so both of them are in
- 00:17:26the group for six months so during those
- 00:17:296 months it's 6 months of weekly
- 00:17:30coaching calls 6 months of access to the
- 00:17:33community and then the first 12 weeks of
- 00:17:35that is the self-paced course in program
- 00:17:38the people that work with me one-on-one
- 00:17:39we have eight scheduled calls over the
- 00:17:41course of those first 12 weeks and daily
- 00:17:43WhatsApp communication so maybe um out
- 00:17:46of the 60 or so people in the group
- 00:17:49maybe 50 to 55 of them are in the group
- 00:17:52and then everybody else is working with
- 00:17:53me one-on-one in addition to being in
- 00:17:54the group gotcha so the the group access
- 00:17:57that that's in school right so they
- 00:17:59don't have access to you in WhatsApp
- 00:18:00they just post in the community right
- 00:18:02and and is that that's group
- 00:18:03collaboration calls and stuff like that
- 00:18:05there too yeah yep group collaboration
- 00:18:07calls every week for accountability and
- 00:18:09just workshopping different things so
- 00:18:10maybe even talking through Cravings the
- 00:18:12same way that we are right now and just
- 00:18:13reminding people of people go through
- 00:18:15the program and you kind of forget what
- 00:18:16was on week one or two if you didn't
- 00:18:18practice it enough so we're constantly
- 00:18:19going back to yeah going back to
- 00:18:21different things that that they were
- 00:18:22learning I love that man and before you
- 00:18:25did this type of work did you ever do
- 00:18:27just like you know macro coaching like
- 00:18:29to your clients or uh Fitness coaching
- 00:18:32stuff or is like I I figured this out
- 00:18:34for myself and immediately I created
- 00:18:36this program and put people through it
- 00:18:38this process yeah I never did anything
- 00:18:41in this industry or anything of that
- 00:18:43nature and one thing that I've done
- 00:18:44that's really different is trying to not
- 00:18:46be influenced by other people so I'm
- 00:18:48really careful about any content that
- 00:18:50I'm consuming but all everything that
- 00:18:52I'm teaching on is the weight loss
- 00:18:53programs that I was a part of when I was
- 00:18:55fat so I have the knowledge of what
- 00:18:57didn't work for someone in my situation
- 00:18:59right I'm mixed with what did work in my
- 00:19:01situation so everyone's a little bit
- 00:19:04different and in what they need but the
- 00:19:06people that I'm targeting and the people
- 00:19:08that work the best with me and see the
- 00:19:09most results are people that have their
- 00:19:11whole life been losing weight on
- 00:19:13different diets and then quitting and
- 00:19:14then gaining the weight back those are
- 00:19:16the people that I'm really here to help
- 00:19:17yeah yeah I love that because it also
- 00:19:19resonates so much with your story and a
- 00:19:22lot of times when we take people on or
- 00:19:23we consult with them it's like it's so
- 00:19:25much easier to build a business that you
- 00:19:28have this experience in and this passion
- 00:19:30in vers uh you being outside of a niche
- 00:19:33right cuz like you are the perfect
- 00:19:35example of like what you're I it perfect
- 00:19:37but you're a pretty good example of like
- 00:19:39what clients you know want to Aspire to
- 00:19:41to look like want to Aspire to become
- 00:19:43like you're very in touch with yourself
- 00:19:45like your health and wellness but also
- 00:19:46your spirituality and I imagine that
- 00:19:48also attracts a certain type of person
- 00:19:51that wants to learn what does that
- 00:19:53lifestyle look like how how do I take on
- 00:19:55some of those traits so I think you've
- 00:19:56done a really good job of branding
- 00:19:59yourself to this Niche and attracting
- 00:20:01the right people to you thank you that
- 00:20:03mean that means the world and being a
- 00:20:04part of growth accelerator has really
- 00:20:06helped me with connecting with my own y
- 00:20:08too A lot of my teachings have been
- 00:20:10refined based on the things that I've
- 00:20:11seen being a part of your program and
- 00:20:14based on one of the biggest things that
- 00:20:15I've learned what I love about your
- 00:20:17program is that IT addresses lifestyle
- 00:20:19in addition to the Practical things that
- 00:20:21you need to learn to grow your business
- 00:20:23so things as simple as how to build your
- 00:20:24own schedule and your own routine in a
- 00:20:27way that's conducive to what you want to
- 00:20:28accomplish like God that is the same
- 00:20:30it's the same thing with weight loss
- 00:20:31it's the exact same thing it's what are
- 00:20:32you actually doing in the dayto day how
- 00:20:34routine and how schedule is your life so
- 00:20:36that's one thing that that has just
- 00:20:37really been hitting home working with
- 00:20:38you and and and working with the other
- 00:20:40coaches as well cool man I got some more
- 00:20:42stuff coming next week or the week after
- 00:20:45on more mindset cuz I think there's
- 00:20:47still a lot of opportunities to grow
- 00:20:49inside of there and I'm going to share
- 00:20:51what my journaling process looks like my
- 00:20:53like morning routines and uh essentially
- 00:20:55I made this document I'll tell you it's
- 00:20:57cool I made this document it's kind of
- 00:20:58like a a life Manifesto type thing of
- 00:21:01like you know here here is this is Matt
- 00:21:03sher's story right and it kind of like
- 00:21:05is broken down and to bulleted numbers
- 00:21:07of like the things that I've done and
- 00:21:08accomplished all the way up until like I
- 00:21:10think for me it's up until the age like
- 00:21:1240 45 after that I'm like I don't know
- 00:21:14yeah but I'm excited to introduce that
- 00:21:16because so cool you can reflect on on
- 00:21:18your why the better and there was some
- 00:21:21time last year where I struggled with my
- 00:21:23why I was like where is this thing going
- 00:21:25and once I started like journaling on a
- 00:21:26regular basis and like really looking
- 00:21:28out Beyond this quarter or like this
- 00:21:31year of like where we want to be with
- 00:21:32the business it's like it started to
- 00:21:34click and also like when things get hard
- 00:21:36right with weight loss or business like
- 00:21:38it's never going to be a perfect
- 00:21:39trajectory of like you get results right
- 00:21:40it's going to be oh I get results oh
- 00:21:42shoot oh it's the same thing right but
- 00:21:44on those times where you're feeling low
- 00:21:46and you're like what is all this for if
- 00:21:48you do have that that why and that
- 00:21:50vision and that Clarity of where you
- 00:21:52want to go it it's just like all right
- 00:21:54cool we got a if it's business we had a
- 00:21:55low cash collected month no big deal you
- 00:21:57know I know I'm putting in the work I'm
- 00:22:00making making the the content I'm taking
- 00:22:02the calls next month's going to going to
- 00:22:04bounce back around because this is where
- 00:22:06we're going yeah that's one thing that
- 00:22:07that you really that you hit home right
- 00:22:09now in your program a lot is something
- 00:22:11that I found is so that that first month
- 00:22:14like that first month I should say like
- 00:22:15that first week of us working together I
- 00:22:18was in that 1500 to 2K range and
- 00:22:19immediately went to 17K and every time
- 00:22:23that I would close a call or or sign
- 00:22:25somebody up I would sit down on the
- 00:22:26couch and go but it wasn't like a
- 00:22:28celebration it was like a like thank God
- 00:22:30now I can relax right and after I had
- 00:22:33that first 17K month my inputs were so
- 00:22:36like I had every input was exactly from
- 00:22:38the outside looking into what I would
- 00:22:39recommend that I was doing right and
- 00:22:41then I went great I had a 17K month I
- 00:22:42could just like relax for a second and
- 00:22:45at a you know maybe 11 or 12K month two
- 00:22:48maybe 15K month 3 give or take those
- 00:22:50aren't exact numbers and I found that in
- 00:22:52reflection like me relaxing because I'm
- 00:22:55because I'm finding myself so tied to
- 00:22:57the results versus being tied to the
- 00:22:59input does that make sense coming back
- 00:23:01to that CEO schedule that we were walked
- 00:23:04through and being like I'm sticking to
- 00:23:05my CEO schedule regardless of if anybody
- 00:23:07buys anything is that coming
- 00:23:10back coming back to that this month is
- 00:23:11that now we're January 14th I'm already
- 00:23:13at I'm about to have my biggest month
- 00:23:15already halfway through so and just
- 00:23:17coming back to the basics going back to
- 00:23:18the early parts of your program have
- 00:23:19been really impactful for me even a few
- 00:23:21months then love that dude that makes me
- 00:23:22feel good man and we were talking too
- 00:23:25did you put your two weeks in are are
- 00:23:27you already done with your job man this
- 00:23:29is God I love this this just lights me
- 00:23:32up so much you know my whole life I've
- 00:23:35been set my whole life I'm 30 my whole
- 00:23:37life I've been selling facial
- 00:23:39recognition software to government
- 00:23:41facilities in the US and made good money
- 00:23:44I was making up until last month was
- 00:23:46making 150 160 or a little more and um
- 00:23:50one of the first intentions that I set
- 00:23:53with you know with your team when I
- 00:23:55joined the program was to quit my job
- 00:23:57and the am amount of fear I
- 00:24:00can't even like every I'm listening to
- 00:24:01other people that quit their job and
- 00:24:02they're like there's never a right time
- 00:24:04and I'm like you guys have no idea how
- 00:24:06how afraid like it's not the same I'm
- 00:24:08like I'm Different right recognizing now
- 00:24:09that actually it's probably the same for
- 00:24:11almost everyone but I'm sitting there at
- 00:24:13this little CA Bar in Austin and I'm
- 00:24:16like almost in hysterics I'm like I
- 00:24:18don't know when I'm going to quit
- 00:24:19because had anyone told me I'd make a
- 00:24:2010K month I would have quit immediately
- 00:24:22now I've had three significantly more
- 00:24:24than 10K months and I still can't do it
- 00:24:26and I'm sitting up there and I'm talking
- 00:24:27to this guy and he's like he goes at
- 00:24:29some point you just got to let go and I
- 00:24:30looked at him I get this spiritual
- 00:24:32out of my face for a second okay you
- 00:24:34have no idea what I'm going through and
- 00:24:36as he said that this guy walks into the
- 00:24:38bar sits down right next to me pulls a
- 00:24:41book out of his backpack and the book
- 00:24:43was letting go and I went and I called
- 00:24:46my boss right there and gave my notice
- 00:24:47that was that was the day before my 30th
- 00:24:50birthday a month ago so I've been two
- 00:24:52weeks as a full-time entrepreneur now
- 00:24:54and you know the biggest thing it's
- 00:24:56scary because I you know I don't have
- 00:24:58the the savings that I would like to
- 00:25:00have but I don't even know if I did if I
- 00:25:02would really feel any more safe it's
- 00:25:03just the concept of quitting that feels
- 00:25:05really scary you know and it it feels
- 00:25:08like burning the last boat and it feels
- 00:25:10like all of these things that have been
- 00:25:12you know waking up and going straight to
- 00:25:14putting it's not even a time thing just
- 00:25:15putting my energy towards somebody
- 00:25:17else's business versus my own those
- 00:25:19first couple hours when my energy levels
- 00:25:21are higher my testosterone levels are
- 00:25:22higher my focus is better putting that
- 00:25:24into my clients and my perspective
- 00:25:26clients the results and the difference
- 00:25:28in accountability that they've seen with
- 00:25:30themselves in the last two to three
- 00:25:32weeks I'm like wow I was actually doing
- 00:25:34an injustice to them and I'm sitting
- 00:25:36here preaching that everybody should be
- 00:25:38going all in on what they really want
- 00:25:40for their lives while I'm still working
- 00:25:42another job and that just felt so
- 00:25:44energetically contrary to to what I and
- 00:25:47I'm sitting there going God man that's
- 00:25:48why we teach the things that we need the
- 00:25:50most in this world
- 00:25:52right oh dude I'm proud of you man I
- 00:25:54remember you told me because we we were
- 00:25:55at CIO was just like a a recovery spot
- 00:25:57here in Austin and I think was you there
- 00:25:58or was yeah I was there and I was just
- 00:26:00like so excited for you I was like I'm
- 00:26:02so proud of you man and it was we like
- 00:26:03dude we should do an interview
- 00:26:05together and I wouldn't look this isn't
- 00:26:07like some me wanting to give you a
- 00:26:08Cheesy testimonial I would never
- 00:26:11recommend something to someone that I
- 00:26:12have not personally done and that I
- 00:26:14would not do again in the same situation
- 00:26:16and genuinely from the bottom of my
- 00:26:18heart had I known that I would have
- 00:26:20these results I would have paid three
- 00:26:22times what I paid to join your program
- 00:26:24and and I I really really really really
- 00:26:27feel that there's no no freaking way
- 00:26:29that I would have had that jump or these
- 00:26:31mindset shifts when it comes to business
- 00:26:33without your program and without working
- 00:26:35with the different coaches that that
- 00:26:36I've encountered so I'm really grateful
- 00:26:38you know that you've put so much of your
- 00:26:40teaching from your story you know what I
- 00:26:42what I love so much about you is I feel
- 00:26:44I relate to you in a lot of the ways and
- 00:26:46that you built a business for yourself
- 00:26:48saw success you were like I can coach
- 00:26:50other people on how to do the things
- 00:26:51that I did so you're coaching from a
- 00:26:53place of doing versus from a place of
- 00:26:55theory and studying and just a really
- 00:26:57rare energy en and it's really
- 00:26:59contagious and I I strongly recommend
- 00:27:01Matt is not paying me for this to put
- 00:27:03that out there but I really strongly
- 00:27:05recommend I'm anyone that is in a
- 00:27:07position where you just want to overhaul
- 00:27:10your life in into your business and and
- 00:27:11really step into this as a full-time
- 00:27:13thing this program really really changed
- 00:27:16my life thanks bro love
- 00:27:18you appreciate that we uh we should
- 00:27:21definitely uh link up again here soon in
- 00:27:23in Austin um what I'd like to close off
- 00:27:26with we're coming up to on time here and
- 00:27:29what I'd like to hear more is like CU
- 00:27:30mindset is a big part of of your journey
- 00:27:32your life your service I'd love for you
- 00:27:35like looking back at when you started
- 00:27:37your business if there was like you know
- 00:27:39things that either I've taught you or
- 00:27:40you've learned along the way what are
- 00:27:41some things that you would have done
- 00:27:43differently from the time you're like
- 00:27:45all right cool I'm starting to post on
- 00:27:46Instagram my story I know I want to
- 00:27:48monetize this what would you have done
- 00:27:50differently what advice would you have
- 00:27:51given yourself one of the best things I
- 00:27:52ever did before I launched on Instagram
- 00:27:54I started a podcast and it's just a
- 00:27:57podcast of me just riffing just the way
- 00:27:58I'm kind of riffing at you right now in
- 00:28:00these little 5 10 minute Sprints right
- 00:28:02that's kind of my podcast style it's all
- 00:28:03just unedited and raw you know and and I
- 00:28:06feel that one of the best things that a
- 00:28:10a new entrepreneur like myself I'm still
- 00:28:12a very new entrepreneur can do is try to
- 00:28:14get as many speak ideas into existence
- 00:28:17so these are all things that I practiced
- 00:28:19right I know how I lost weight but I
- 00:28:22sometimes feel disconnected to what I
- 00:28:23was doing in the day-to-day it was five
- 00:28:24or six years ago the best thing I ever
- 00:28:26did was launched a podcast that t takes
- 00:28:28me less than 1 hour per week because
- 00:28:30it's just me speaking unedited no edits
- 00:28:33posted on podbean all of my ideas on how
- 00:28:36to refine my messaging and my content
- 00:28:38have not come from me sitting down and
- 00:28:39thinking about it they've come from me
- 00:28:41just blabbing on my podcast and I feel
- 00:28:43that anyone that is really trying to
- 00:28:45refine what they're doing anyone that's
- 00:28:46trying to speak new ideas into existence
- 00:28:49just having these recordings of yourself
- 00:28:51and sharing them with people isn't just
- 00:28:53a great way to step into that creative
- 00:28:54flow but it's also a great way to build
- 00:28:57a lot of trust with your brand so as big
- 00:28:59as my Instagram following is right
- 00:29:01almost all my high ticket clients were
- 00:29:03actually podcast listeners because now
- 00:29:05it's been a year we're almost 60
- 00:29:06episodes in and when somebody gets on a
- 00:29:08call with me and they've listened to all
- 00:29:0960 of my podcast episodes I mean what
- 00:29:11how I don't even have to say anything
- 00:29:14right it's here's the this person has
- 00:29:15spent weeks listening to me in their car
- 00:29:17they know my full story they know
- 00:29:18exactly what I do I don't even have to
- 00:29:20walk with them through the process it's
- 00:29:21just would you like to put that on your
- 00:29:22MX or your
- 00:29:23visa and that's that's not me on a
- 00:29:26podcast trying to sell anyone anything
- 00:29:28it's just me on a podcast speaking
- 00:29:29authentically so you know my my advice
- 00:29:32would be I think it's under I think
- 00:29:34having a podcast is very underrated and
- 00:29:36I feel that plugging a podcast for me
- 00:29:39I've done a lot more plugging my
- 00:29:41podcasts on Instagram than I have
- 00:29:42plugging my mailing list I've Just Seen
- 00:29:44A lot more success with that than I ever
- 00:29:46have with my email marketing strategy
- 00:29:48that's cool I I mean I'm starting to see
- 00:29:49the same with YouTube um I I like
- 00:29:52YouTube because it's it's got a little
- 00:29:53bit higher search features for things
- 00:29:56and stuff like that discoverability but
- 00:29:58I agree I think once you like you know
- 00:29:59you're consistent on Instagram social
- 00:30:01media and stuff like that there's so
- 00:30:03much uh value and relationship that
- 00:30:05depth you know from long form content
- 00:30:08and you know YouTube's a production
- 00:30:10right like you know I probably spend at
- 00:30:11least a, $2,000 a month on YouTube you
- 00:30:14know having V help me editors and stuff
- 00:30:16like that where D the podcast man I I
- 00:30:18had one in 20 um 2019 I just had a a
- 00:30:22$100 mic maybe and I mean that I think I
- 00:30:27filmed one of the car listen to one in
- 00:30:29the car and it was just a just like you
- 00:30:30know a plugged in iPhone thing and it
- 00:30:33was fine you know the audio was fine so
- 00:30:35it's just like you don't need a bunch of
- 00:30:37fancy stuff you can just get started
- 00:30:38with very minimal stuff yeah love that
- 00:30:42the other thing that I would say is that
- 00:30:43virality does not equal money or trust I
- 00:30:46learned that the the really hard way you
- 00:30:49know when I I even earlier in my journey
- 00:30:52I had grown to 100K in like 50 days on
- 00:30:54Instagram from zero from 400 followers
- 00:30:57from high school school and college
- 00:30:58right with no ads all organically and
- 00:31:01what that did to me was made me really
- 00:31:03hooked on like if I'm not viral then I'm
- 00:31:05failing and as many people would tell me
- 00:31:08that that's not how I should think I'm
- 00:31:10like you guys don't understand because
- 00:31:11you've never experienced that level of
- 00:31:12virality so I would go like where's the
- 00:31:14people that have done it right is what
- 00:31:16what I was looking for and I got
- 00:31:17connected with people that had similarly
- 00:31:20felt the dopamine and the addictiveness
- 00:31:22of having all of that attention and
- 00:31:24being able to visualize virality I'm
- 00:31:26telling you right now the virality means
- 00:31:28literally nothing at all literally zero
- 00:31:31none of the people that are that are
- 00:31:33working with me came from any of these
- 00:31:35viral posts they all came from Posts
- 00:31:37that were just really authentic and
- 00:31:38focused on a really specific issue but
- 00:31:40none of those were actually my viral
- 00:31:41content so just making the switch from
- 00:31:44virality if you've never been viral and
- 00:31:46you want to be viral do everything that
- 00:31:47you want to do but just recognize it's
- 00:31:49really unrewarding in the long run and
- 00:31:51um it's really it really negatively
- 00:31:53impacted me actually at a lot of times I
- 00:31:55think that I would have moved faster and
- 00:31:57built this system programmed faster had
- 00:31:59I never experienced any virality I'd
- 00:32:01wake up and check my view count before
- 00:32:03waking up and checking on my clients
- 00:32:05wake up and account before waking up and
- 00:32:07checking my stripe account you know and
- 00:32:08those are very different very different
- 00:32:10mentality so that switch is something
- 00:32:12that was not in my awareness but I would
- 00:32:14have put that into my awareness sooner
- 00:32:16yeah thank you for sharing because I
- 00:32:17think some people probably listening to
- 00:32:19this is like oh yeah Nick Nick's done
- 00:32:21this but he has 200,000 followers how am
- 00:32:24I supposed to do that you know so I'm
- 00:32:26curious like if if there someone who's
- 00:32:28listening to this and sees that like
- 00:32:30what would you tell them yeah so I have
- 00:32:31200,000 followers but if you go look at
- 00:32:34at the actual view counts on recent
- 00:32:36reels and if you do this with anyone
- 00:32:37that you compare yourself to on
- 00:32:38Instagram most of these people that have
- 00:32:41a c in that couple hundred thousand it's
- 00:32:42different when you get into the like
- 00:32:44Hermos type of millions right but most
- 00:32:46of the people that have a couple hundred
- 00:32:47thousand followers they're not getting a
- 00:32:49couple hundred, views per real a lot of
- 00:32:51these reels are in the 20 to 40K range
- 00:32:54which is still a lot but there's
- 00:32:55actually very a lot less correlation
- 00:32:58right now this seems to change every few
- 00:33:00months right but right now in January of
- 00:33:032025 a lot of the a lot of the heavy
- 00:33:06viewership is going to people with less
- 00:33:07followers so I have 200,000 followers
- 00:33:09but I don't have 200,000 people looking
- 00:33:11at my Instagram on a regular basis and
- 00:33:13it's a very very different thing you
- 00:33:14know I know people that have 10,000
- 00:33:16followers on Instagram that are making
- 00:33:18three times as much money as I am right
- 00:33:19now with 200,000 yeah we we had a client
- 00:33:23last month just started with us he has
- 00:33:25less than a th000 followers and he made
- 00:33:26$46,000 in a month in cash not
- 00:33:29contracted in cash getting people off of
- 00:33:32Instagram Instagram is one of the best
- 00:33:34sales tools ever but I I feel that also
- 00:33:37getting it's easy to become reliant on
- 00:33:39Instagram getting people off of
- 00:33:41Instagram into something else as well
- 00:33:44drastically increases the trust and
- 00:33:47drastically increases the likelihood
- 00:33:48that you're going to be able to maintain
- 00:33:50trajectory should your Instagram just
- 00:33:51suddenly Lose virality Or should you
- 00:33:53somehow get Shadow banned or all these
- 00:33:55different things that may or may not
- 00:33:56even exist so so that's the other thing
- 00:33:58that I would recommend that I I wish I
- 00:34:00would have done a little sooner too when
- 00:34:01you got virality take that virality and
- 00:34:03push them into into a different platform
- 00:34:06mailing list your podcast mailing list
- 00:34:07podcast YouTube even maybe a school
- 00:34:09group if you got good content in there
- 00:34:10too cool Nick well let's close this
- 00:34:12thing up man uh I just want to say thank
- 00:34:14you again for for being on the show and
