00:00:29
muham and
00:01:13
today insh we will embark on a new
00:01:16
series of lectures a series of lectures
00:01:19
concentrating on The Life and Times of
00:01:22
the single greatest human being who has
00:01:25
ever lived ever walked on the face of
00:01:27
this Earth and in today's lecture I
00:01:30
wanted to begin by talking about some of
00:01:32
the broad characteristics of our Prophet
00:01:35
sallallah alaihi wasallam some of the
00:01:38
what what in Arabic is called sh some of
00:01:41
the unique and specific characteristics
00:01:43
that Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala has given
00:01:46
to our Prophet sallallahu alaihi
00:01:48
wasallam before we embark on the Journey
00:01:50
of s and why we study s and what is s
00:01:54
that will be inshallah next weekend next
00:01:56
week and then we begin with the the
00:01:57
birth and the pre-islamic Arabia all of
00:02:00
this will come before we even begin a
00:02:02
little bit of a tantalizing tidbit if
00:02:05
you like of the characteristics of the
00:02:08
unique specialities that our Prophet
00:02:10
sallallahu alaihi wasam was blessed with
00:02:13
because when we begin these series by
00:02:16
talking about his specialities even
00:02:18
though all of us are motivated to study
00:02:20
his s when we study his specialities we
00:02:23
will be even more motivated and we'll be
00:02:25
even more eager to learn about The Life
00:02:27
and Times the lessons and morals the
00:02:30
incidents that occurred in the life of
00:02:32
our Prophet Muhammad sallallah alai
00:02:34
wasallam and so where then do we begin
00:02:38
when it comes to describing the one whom
00:02:40
Allah has chosen above the entire
00:02:42
creation how can we do justice to him
00:02:46
when Allah himself
00:02:49
says Allah says we have raised up your
00:02:53
mentioning and Remembrance Allah has
00:02:56
raised up his mentioning and and
00:02:58
Remembrance and IB Abbas and and other
00:03:00
Scholars of the sahabah they said Allah
00:03:02
has raised up his remembrance such that
00:03:05
whenever Allah is mentioned the prophet
00:03:08
is mentioned right after that and how
00:03:10
true this is whenever Allah is mentioned
00:03:13
the prophet is almost always mentioned
00:03:15
right after that even in our
00:03:18
sh muhm in thean in the Salah that we
00:03:23
pray in the Quran itself there's hardly
00:03:26
a that we give except that we praise
00:03:28
Allah and we send Salat and Salam upon
00:03:31
the prophet Muhammad s. wasam when Allah
00:03:35
subhah waala himself has called our
00:03:37
Prophet Sall alhi
00:03:40
wasallam you are the mercy to the entire
00:03:43
world you are the embodiment of Rah
00:03:47
Allah has sent you and through you you
00:03:49
will be given Rah and you are a r and
00:03:52
you are the channel of Allah's R so he
00:03:55
is the prophet is Rah and his sending is
00:03:59
Rah and his message is rahma and his
00:04:02
teachings is r and believing and acting
00:04:04
upon what he has come with is a he is
00:04:07
everything associated with Mercy that
00:04:10
is so how then can we begin to do
00:04:13
justice to the prophet sallallah Alam
00:04:16
when Allah has praised him so highly
00:04:19
however even if we cannot mention all of
00:04:21
those blessings and characteristics then
00:04:23
at least let us mention some so that
00:04:25
they can be an indication for that which
00:04:28
is not uh it can not be mentioned
00:04:30
because of time and restrictions And We
00:04:32
Begin by mentioning some of the names
00:04:35
that Allah gave our Prophet Muhammad s.
00:04:39
wasam for our Prophet had many names
00:04:43
many of the names of our Prophet were
00:04:45
given to him by later people the the
00:04:48
early Scholars and one of the famous
00:04:51
Scholars of the has derived over 250
00:04:54
names of the prophet sallallahu alaihi
00:04:56
wasallam and if we were to give a class
00:04:58
on this we'd spend 3 four weeks just
00:05:00
talking about that list but I wanted to
00:05:02
mention some of the names that Allah has
00:05:04
given him because you see names come
00:05:06
from Allah and names come from the
00:05:08
people and we are obviously the ones
00:05:10
that come from the people we can benefit
00:05:12
from them but the ones that Allah has
00:05:13
given our Prophet those are the primary
00:05:16
names that have the deepest meaning and
00:05:19
of the Hadith that the prophet mentioned
00:05:22
his names he
00:05:26
said the prophet Sall Al wasallam said
00:05:30
I have a number of names so the prophet
00:05:33
is telling us he has a number of names
00:05:35
he
00:05:37
said I am
00:05:40
Muhammad and I am Ahmed I'm going to
00:05:42
mention each of these
00:05:44
names and I am Al of his names is Al and
00:05:49
he explained Al is the one
00:05:53
whom Allah erases
00:05:57
kuur of his names is Al
00:06:02
people will be
00:06:03
resurrected means to be resurrected on
00:06:06
my footsteps or meaning after
00:06:09
me of his names is and he said is the
00:06:13
one who has no Prophet after
00:06:16
me he said I am the that is one of my
00:06:23
names and I am the of
00:06:28
repentance and he is the m and the we're
00:06:33
going to explain what this means but the
00:06:35
one that who has uh come after all or
00:06:39
the one who pre not not predates the one
00:06:41
who comes consequently the one who comes
00:06:44
at the end of a long chain that
00:06:49
is and I am the prophet of we're going
00:06:52
to explain all of these names one by one
00:06:55
so the most common names of the prophet
00:06:58
and the two that the Quran explicitly
00:07:01
mentions the Quran mentions many
00:07:03
adjectives but it only mentions two
00:07:05
nouns the Quran mentions many adjectives
00:07:07
for the prophet from those adjectives we
00:07:10
can derive names so we can derive it
00:07:13
from the
00:07:14
Quran this is a description an adjective
00:07:17
but in terms of proper nouns or in terms
00:07:19
of nouns there are two names that are
00:07:20
mentioned and these names are Muhammad
00:07:23
and Ahmed the name Muhammad is mentioned
00:07:27
four times in the Quran and the name
00:07:29
Ahmed is mentioned a few times as well
00:07:31
if my memory serves me correctly it is
00:07:33
two or three times the name Ahmed is
00:07:35
mentioned and every time it is mentioned
00:07:37
it is mentioned from the tongue of Jesus
00:07:39
Christ the only time Ahmed is mentioned
00:07:43
is from the tongue of Jesus
00:07:47
Christ says that I'm going to tell you
00:07:50
of a prophet coming after me his name is
00:07:53
Ahmed both Muhammad and Ahmed come from
00:07:58
Hamed
00:08:00
and H ham means to praise but not any
00:08:06
type of
00:08:07
Praise ham is what the first word of the
00:08:09
Quran
00:08:10
alhamdulillah and hamd means to praise
00:08:15
not in return for some favor given to
00:08:18
you because that is shuk if somebody
00:08:20
does you something you praise him back
00:08:22
that is shuk you you that's that that is
00:08:24
a
00:08:25
praise it's something that you give and
00:08:27
take right you give me some I say thank
00:08:30
you or you're a generous man this is not
00:08:32
called ham this is shuk because you have
00:08:35
given something back in return for
00:08:37
something he's given you ham is higher
00:08:39
than shukur shukur is a transaction in a
00:08:41
way even though it is something that is
00:08:43
good higher than shukur is ham and ham
00:08:46
is the highest form of Praise ham is a
00:08:48
praise that is given because of the
00:08:52
inherent characteristics in the object
00:08:54
that you're praising not because he's
00:08:56
done you anything you given back to him
00:08:58
because he deserves to be praised for
00:09:01
who he is ham is an object of perfection
00:09:06
an object that is worthy of being
00:09:08
praising praised regardless of what he's
00:09:10
done or hasn't done he is worthy of
00:09:13
being shown praise and so the prophet
00:09:17
has two names and his two most common
00:09:19
names come from the root which describes
00:09:23
praise why because Allah has praised him
00:09:27
and the angels have praised him and the
00:09:29
people on earth have praised him and all
00:09:32
the prophets have praised him and every
00:09:36
single one of mankind Praises him
00:09:40
directly or indirectly as for praising
00:09:42
him directly these are the Muslims they
00:09:44
praise him directly and as for praising
00:09:47
him indirectly then the characteristics
00:09:49
and qualities that he has come with are
00:09:52
characteristics and qualities of
00:09:53
perfection so even those who reject him
00:09:56
by the Tongue they must
00:10:00
admit and they must praise the qualities
00:10:02
that he came with Mercy
00:10:05
tenderness it doesn't matter even if
00:10:08
their tongues deny his prophethood they
00:10:10
must praise the qualities that are in
00:10:13
him so he is worthy of Praise from all
00:10:16
of humanity and therefore the prophet
00:10:20
sallallah alai wasam is praised in the
00:10:23
heavens and in the earth he is praised
00:10:26
in in the previous um and in the present
00:10:28
um he is is praised in this D and in the
00:10:32
this is the ultimate praise there is no
00:10:36
human being who has ever been praised or
00:10:39
is praised at this point in time or who
00:10:41
shall continue to be praised more than
00:10:44
our prophet sallallahu alaihi wasam and
00:10:46
think about it no millisecond occurs on
00:10:49
this earth except that there are not
00:10:52
Millions not tens of millions hundreds
00:10:55
of millions of people around the globe
00:10:58
praising this one person sallallah alai
00:11:01
wasam either by sending and and or by
00:11:05
giving a or lecture or by giving uh uh
00:11:08
uh the saying the Salah because you
00:11:11
cannot pray any Salah you cannot pray
00:11:13
any except that what do you do in
00:11:17
that think about it there is no second
00:11:21
on Earth that goes by except that
00:11:23
hundreds of millions of people are
00:11:25
praising this one human being there is
00:11:28
no person
00:11:29
who is more praised than our Prophet s.
00:11:34
wasam and the ultimate praise that he
00:11:37
will be given by Humanity of course the
00:11:40
ultimate praise he is given is by Allah
00:11:42
as for Humanity the ultimate praise he
00:11:45
will be given will be the praise that he
00:11:47
will be given
00:11:48
on on the day of judgment on that day
00:11:53
all CFS will know the truth of Islam you
00:11:56
cannot deny Allah when you are
00:11:57
seeing Muslim Muslim and non-muslim they
00:12:00
will know the truth of course it is too
00:12:02
late to believe in the truth but they
00:12:04
will know it so when they recognize the
00:12:06
truth the people will all go to Adam
00:12:10
thei is in bukari and Muslim they will
00:12:12
all go to Adam and they will say oh Adam
00:12:16
you are our father and Allah created you
00:12:19
with his hands and Allah blew his R into
00:12:22
you do you not see the situation your
00:12:25
children are in why don't you go to
00:12:27
Allah and beg for forgiveness why don't
00:12:29
you go to Allah and beg him to start the
00:12:32
Reckoning so that we can move on so Adam
00:12:35
will make an excuse and he will say I
00:12:37
committed a sin that I should not have
00:12:39
done meaning I'm not worthy to go and
00:12:42
ask Allah asael I committed a sin and
00:12:45
I'm worried about myself na go to
00:12:48
another person go
00:12:50
to and so
00:12:52
Humanity at large will go to the prophet
00:12:55
n and the same request and the prophet
00:12:57
no will say I made a mistake which I
00:12:59
should not have done Allah told me not
00:13:01
to ask anybody to be saved and I asked
00:13:04
him to save my son and I disobeyed him
00:13:06
and I'm worried about myself na go to
00:13:09
somebody else go to ibraim they will go
00:13:11
to ibraim ibraim will say the same thing
00:13:15
that I made three lies even though they
00:13:18
were not lies but he's so worried he
00:13:20
says I made three lies and I'm worried
00:13:23
about those lies on the day of judgment
00:13:25
what are these three lies number one he
00:13:26
said the big Idol did it right this is
00:13:29
it's not even a lie but he's so worried
00:13:31
now I don't know maybe Allah will call
00:13:33
me to task number two he said I'm sick
00:13:35
when his Idol when his uh people went
00:13:38
out of the town he said I'm sick I don't
00:13:40
want to go with you let me stay here why
00:13:43
because he wanted to destroy the idols
00:13:45
uh and number three he called uh Sarah
00:13:48
his wife uh he said Sarah is my sister
00:13:51
meaning in Islam because the King was
00:13:52
about to kill him so he said she's my
00:13:55
sister I'm not husband wife we are
00:13:57
sister and brother meaning and he sister
00:13:59
in Islam because he wanted to save his
00:14:01
life these three things he was so
00:14:03
worried about he said I'm too scared go
00:14:05
to somebody else go to M and M will also
00:14:10
make an excuse he will say I killed
00:14:12
somebody in Anger even though it was an
00:14:14
accident I kill somebody in Anger I'm
00:14:16
worried so go to somebody else they will
00:14:18
go to
00:14:19
ISA will also uh say I'm not worthy go
00:14:22
to somebody else and so all of mankind
00:14:25
will come to the Prophet Muhammad
00:14:27
sallallah alaihi wasallam all of mankind
00:14:30
Muslim and cfir and they will beg the
00:14:33
prophet sallallah alai wasam to
00:14:36
intercede to be a representative to be a
00:14:40
a messenger from them to Allah and to be
00:14:44
an intercessor and to be a
00:14:47
representative so they choose one human
00:14:50
being to be a representative to go in
00:14:53
front of Allah and plead for all of
00:14:56
humanity plead what to begin your
00:15:00
cuz is taking too long and they are
00:15:02
getting so worried so uh so if you like
00:15:06
the punishment is increasing because
00:15:09
itself is 50,000
00:15:13
years itself is a type of punishment and
00:15:16
the people who have rejected Allah they
00:15:18
will be so exasperated by they will say
00:15:21
whatever comes let it come let's just
00:15:23
get rid of this day let's move on to
00:15:25
whatever it is the tension is too much
00:15:27
so they will beg
00:15:29
wasallam to go in front of Allah and
00:15:32
begin the and ask Allah to begin the
00:15:34
Reckoning and so the prophet will say
00:15:36
this is my
00:15:39
job this is my responsibility and so he
00:15:43
will then go in front of Allah and
00:15:46
because he will be the representative
00:15:48
all of humanity will praise him and he
00:15:52
will be given the praiseworthy station
00:15:55
which is called Al Alm this is Al mm
00:16:01
this is exactly what Alm is what ises
00:16:04
Alm means Al Mahmud means the station
00:16:09
mam the rank that is Mahmud what is
00:16:12
Mahmud from Ham it is the one that is
00:16:16
praised everyone will praise him no
00:16:18
human being will be left except that he
00:16:21
will thank the prophet and be thankful
00:16:23
to him and praise him for the Mak mm
00:16:26
Allah will lift him up to the m mahm the
00:16:29
angels will praise Him Humanity will
00:16:31
praise him every single being in
00:16:34
existence will praise the prophet at
00:16:37
that point in time it is
00:16:39
Al and because it is Al who better to
00:16:43
then it be given to than the one who is
00:16:45
Muhammad and the one who is Ahmed Alm is
00:16:49
for Muhammad and it is for Ahmed what
00:16:53
and both of them mean the one who is
00:16:54
ultimately praised what is the
00:16:56
difference between Muhammad and Ahmed
00:16:59
mam for those of you learning Arabic
00:17:05
is means that he is being given
00:17:09
continuous praise continuously Time
00:17:12
After Time praise after praise so
00:17:16
Muhammad is for the quantity of Praise
00:17:20
that every single point in time he is
00:17:22
being praised and as we already said
00:17:24
from the beginning of time up until our
00:17:27
time till the day of judgment on the day
00:17:29
of judgment after the day of judgment
00:17:31
all of the time our Prophet will be
00:17:33
praised so Muhammad is for continuity
00:17:37
Muhammad is for quantity and as
00:17:42
fored means that he is being given the
00:17:45
best type of praise the highest quality
00:17:49
of Praise so Ahmed is for Quality
00:17:52
Muhammad is for quantity and the both
00:17:54
are combined in our s alai wasam that he
00:17:58
is worthy of being the the praise the
00:18:01
highest way that any human being can be
00:18:03
praised of course the praise that we
00:18:04
give to Allah is a different type of
00:18:06
praise and that is a Divine Praise but
00:18:08
the highest praise for any human being
00:18:10
is for our prophet sallallahu alaihi
00:18:12
wasallam and the most continuous praise
00:18:14
is for our Prophet sallallahu alaihi
00:18:16
wasallam so Muhammad is for quantity
00:18:19
Ahmed is for quality and the both of
00:18:21
them are combined in our s wasam who
00:18:25
will be given
00:18:27
Al which is the praise worthy station
00:18:30
now as for the issue of why is it that
00:18:33
the prophet M predicted our rol with the
00:18:37
name of Muhammad as the Quran says and
00:18:39
Isa predicted ouro with the name of
00:18:42
Ahmed the famous scholar said that the
00:18:46
wisdom behind
00:18:48
this the wisdom behind this is that the
00:18:51
largest umah after our umah is that of
00:18:56
the Jews the bani Isel they are the
00:18:58
largest umah of real followers that is
00:19:01
because the Christians as we believe the
00:19:03
majority of them they took a different
00:19:05
path that of Paul and his version of
00:19:08
Christianity the original Christians the
00:19:10
True Believers of Isa were few in number
00:19:13
and their religion died out very quickly
00:19:16
uh as you know Constantine and all of
00:19:18
these they changed the religion and it
00:19:20
became a trinity it became a divine
00:19:22
nature of Jesus Christ of course Isa
00:19:24
never preached this from our perspective
00:19:26
so the prophet
00:19:27
m his people were the largest umah of
00:19:32
true Muslims after our umah and
00:19:36
therefore they were given quantity
00:19:39
because they have quantity so they are
00:19:41
told the name that is conducive that is
00:19:44
fitting with them because they're large
00:19:47
quantity as for the prophet Isa his
00:19:50
followers were few his disciples were
00:19:52
few and the people who truly followed
00:19:55
the actual message of Jesus Christ were
00:19:57
not that many but they were great in
00:19:59
quality the disciples and those who
00:20:02
followed them they were persecuted they
00:20:04
were tortured the Pagan Romans killed
00:20:06
them they put them in front of the Lions
00:20:08
they comb their their their their uh
00:20:11
bones and their flesh with Combs of iron
00:20:14
just like you see on the movies these
00:20:15
tortures this was given to the early
00:20:17
Christians the real Christians meaning
00:20:19
the followers of Jesus Christ the true
00:20:21
followers of Isam they were few in
00:20:23
number but they were truly devoted and
00:20:26
righteous and so for them they were
00:20:29
given the name Ahmed because they were
00:20:31
people of quality they were people of
00:20:33
quality and they were told that
00:20:36
our wasam would be the one who is worthy
00:20:39
of the best quality of Praise And so
00:20:43
Muhammad and Ahmed are both his names of
00:20:46
the third name that he mentions an Al
00:20:48
Ali he explained it himself Ali is the
00:20:52
one whom
00:20:55
Allah and means to face to wipe out Mah
00:21:01
means to wipe out so through me Allah
00:21:04
subhah wa ta'ala will wipe out kufur and
00:21:07
we see this occurring in his lifetime
00:21:10
that the Arabian Peninsula was immersed
00:21:12
in kufur and in his own lifetime the the
00:21:16
the entire Peninsula was immersed in
00:21:18
Islam and within 20 30 years major
00:21:21
bastions of kufur were then converted to
00:21:24
Islam and they have been in Islam ever
00:21:25
since within 60 70 years Islam reached
00:21:28
the borders of China and andalus where
00:21:31
it remains to this day so Allah subhah
00:21:33
wa taala used our Prophet as Al means to
00:21:38
wipe away and W if you look at a
00:21:40
geographic map if you look at a
00:21:42
historical geographic map that tells you
00:21:43
the expansion of Islam you see exactly
00:21:46
what Ali is literally the religion of
00:21:49
Islam is expanding 5 10 15 20 30 40
00:21:52
years it's as if the other kufur is
00:21:54
being wiped away and the religion of
00:21:56
Islam is spreading forth all of this is
00:21:59
the one who erases and
00:22:02
faes the prophet said he explained it as
00:22:08
well that mankind will be
00:22:12
resurrected means two things means at my
00:22:15
feet literally but what it actually
00:22:17
means is right after me so the prophet
00:22:20
sallallah alaihi wasallam is the signal
00:22:23
signaling of the day of judgment and in
00:22:26
fact the coming of the prophet
00:22:28
sallallahu alaihi wasallam is the first
00:22:31
sign of the day of judgment his sending
00:22:35
is the first sign that judgment is now
00:22:38
close compared to all the previous
00:22:40
Prophets The Very the very of our
00:22:43
Prophet Sall alhi wasallam is the first
00:22:45
of the signs of the day of judgment so
00:22:47
he is
00:22:48
saying another interpretation is that I
00:22:51
am the first person who will be
00:22:53
resurrected and everybody will be
00:22:55
resurrected after me
00:22:58
so after I am resurrected I will be the
00:23:01
first person resurrected and even the
00:23:03
order of resurrecting shall be a
00:23:05
blessing from Allah subhah and there's
00:23:07
no question that the prophets will be
00:23:09
resurrected first and foremost and then
00:23:11
the and the and then the rest of the
00:23:15
umah so even the order of resurrection
00:23:17
and the Order of recognizing what's
00:23:20
happening cuz Allah mentions in the
00:23:21
Quran that when they are resurrected
00:23:25
they'll be shaking off the dust and they
00:23:26
will say
00:23:29
what is happening to us who has brought
00:23:32
us forth from our resting places people
00:23:34
will be confused what's happening and
00:23:35
the prophets will understand immediately
00:23:37
what is happening and the first person
00:23:39
to be resurrected and the first person
00:23:41
to understand will be our Prophet wasam
00:23:43
so he's
00:23:44
saying the one that is signaling the has
00:23:48
by his coming he is signaling the coming
00:23:50
of the day of judgment and by his
00:23:52
resurrection on the day of judgment he
00:23:54
will be the one after whom everybody
00:23:57
else will be Resurrected
00:23:59
and he said I am the he himself
00:24:02
explained it there is no Prophet after
00:24:05
me so means the successor the the the
00:24:11
word seal is not appropriate because
00:24:12
that's but uh what it means is that the
00:24:15
one who cuts off basically uh the one
00:24:17
who is at the end is the best phrase
00:24:19
here the one who comes at the end and
00:24:22
then he said I am
00:24:24
the and I am the and you understand
00:24:29
and Allah calls
00:24:30
him I am the which means I am the
00:24:35
prophet that is the prophet of
00:24:37
repentance I am the source of repentance
00:24:40
meaning that by believing in me and by
00:24:42
following my teachings people can be
00:24:44
forgiven and I am
00:24:46
Al here means that the one who comes at
00:24:51
the end and makes the previous prophets
00:24:55
complete or the one who makes the
00:24:57
message of the previous prophets there's
00:24:59
no need anymore because we have the full
00:25:01
message or the complete message of the
00:25:03
prophet sallallah alaihi wasallam and in
00:25:05
one Hadith he called
00:25:08
himself I am the prophet that will
00:25:11
signal lots of Trials and that is
00:25:14
because the biggest trials that the
00:25:16
world has ever seen will occur with the
00:25:18
umah and during the umah of the Prophet
00:25:20
sallallahu alaihi wasallam trials such
00:25:23
as theal and trials such as the three
00:25:26
major earthquakes that will signal the
00:25:28
end of time and trials such as the
00:25:30
coming down of and the all of these
00:25:33
major trials they will occur within the
00:25:35
um of this Prophet Sall wasallam so he
00:25:38
called himself I
00:25:40
am and this is a description that is
00:25:43
more of a warning for us and for those
00:25:46
who oppose him that that that there's
00:25:48
going to be a lot of trials and
00:25:49
tribulations in his time and there are
00:25:51
other names that are mentioned in the
00:25:53
Sunnah and their other descriptions
00:25:54
mentioned in the Quran and inshallah in
00:25:56
the course of our lectures and series we
00:25:58
will be uh talking about some of them as
00:26:01
for his specialities what is called in
00:26:04
Arabic something that only he was given
00:26:07
and no other human being was given and
00:26:10
there are many books written by the
00:26:11
early Scholars
00:26:13
about and about which means that his
00:26:17
characteristics and what is unique to
00:26:19
him and there are many many uh
00:26:21
characteristics that are unique to him
00:26:22
some scholars in our times have lifted
00:26:24
has listed listed up to 50 specific and
00:26:29
unique characteristics and blessings
00:26:32
that only he was given and no other
00:26:35
human being was given some of these
00:26:37
again this is all the summary there's so
00:26:38
much more that can be said some of these
00:26:40
number one he is the final prophet of
00:26:43
Allah no prophet of Allah has obviously
00:26:46
ever been the final prophet and there's
00:26:48
only one Prophet that can be the final
00:26:50
and Allah chose him to be the final
00:26:53
prophet and this is explicitly mentioned
00:26:55
in the Quran
00:27:03
and in another
00:27:04
recitation and that is the seal and the
00:27:07
end of the prophets number two the
00:27:11
prophethood of our Prophet sallallahu
00:27:13
alaihi wasam had been decreed by Allah
00:27:17
even before Adam existed even before
00:27:23
adam. was a living Soul Allah had
00:27:26
decreed the Prophet the prophethood of
00:27:29
our Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
00:27:31
wasallam even before the r was blown
00:27:34
into Adam one of the sahab asked the
00:27:38
prophet when were you decreed to be a
00:27:41
prophet the prophet sallallah alaihi
00:27:43
wasallam said that when Adam was between
00:27:48
the between the mud and the r in other
00:27:52
words Adam was not yet combined with and
00:27:57
when Adam am was still two separate
00:28:00
entities and that is the and the when
00:28:02
before the was blown in Allah subhah wa
00:28:05
tala had already destined and decreed
00:28:07
that I would be coming for
00:28:10
mankind of the specialities of our
00:28:12
Prophet number three is that he is the
00:28:15
only Prophet to have been sent for all
00:28:20
of humanity in fact the only Prophet to
00:28:24
have been sent even to the Jin no
00:28:27
Prophet before our Prophet was sent to
00:28:29
All of humanity no Prophet every single
00:28:33
Prophet was sent to a specific Nation
00:28:37
now somebody can say here Adam was a
00:28:41
prophet and he was sent to all of the
00:28:44
people of his time because his children
00:28:46
there were only his children there and
00:28:49
was a and he was sent to the people of
00:28:52
his time and there was no other people
00:28:54
of his time so he too was sent to the
00:28:56
people of all of humanity how then can
00:28:58
this be a unique thing for our Prophet
00:29:00
sallallahu alaihi wasallam the response
00:29:03
is that Adam and N were both
00:29:07
exceptions that simply happened by a
00:29:09
coincidence of early history in that
00:29:13
Adam is the first human and the only
00:29:15
human beings will be his descendants it
00:29:18
is not that Allah destined him with the
00:29:20
title you have been sent to humanity it
00:29:23
just so happens that the only Humanity
00:29:25
are his children and the same goes for
00:29:28
the first messenger ever sent and that
00:29:30
is there's only one city in all of
00:29:33
humanity there's only one city when he
00:29:36
was sent there weren't Villages andas
00:29:38
all over the place there was just one
00:29:39
group one people one nation one
00:29:41
Community that's his people and so when
00:29:44
Allah wipes that one Village out the
00:29:46
world is wiped out because that's the
00:29:47
only one Village out there so once again
00:29:49
it is not as if no was intended to be
00:29:52
sent for all of humanity it just so
00:29:54
happened that all of humanity was one
00:29:57
Village and that that's why both of
00:29:58
these are the earliest two prophets
00:30:00
right no Prophet after them when there
00:30:02
were multiple cities was sent to both
00:30:05
cities no Prophet after them when there
00:30:07
were other civilizations was sent to
00:30:09
more than two civilizations other than
00:30:11
our prophet wasam he wasn't just sent to
00:30:14
two civilizations he was sent to All of
00:30:17
humanity and not just this another
00:30:20
speciality he was actually even sent to
00:30:23
the Jin and this is a uniqueness that no
00:30:25
other Prophet has ever been sent for and
00:30:28
inshallah in the course of our lectures
00:30:30
we will mention a very famous incident
00:30:32
in the early me it is called the night
00:30:35
of the Jin the night of the Jin and on
00:30:37
this night the jins came to mecah Muslim
00:30:40
jins and they wanted the prophet to
00:30:42
teach them about Islam so the prophet
00:30:45
went and he taught them what they needed
00:30:46
to know and there are details that we
00:30:48
know of that night and we'll talk about
00:30:49
it during that time of the specialities
00:30:53
of our Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasam
00:30:55
that no other nation and no other
00:30:57
Prophet has been given our Prophet Sall
00:30:59
alhi wasallam said that Allah has helped
00:31:01
me
00:31:04
with means a type of fear that Allah
00:31:07
will inflict into my enemies even before
00:31:10
I reach them even one month's Journey
00:31:13
before I come to them they will become
00:31:14
terrified of me so Allah helped him
00:31:17
without even physical combat that in his
00:31:20
time of course this is unique to him
00:31:22
only not to the rest of prophets or even
00:31:24
to his umah to him only that when he
00:31:26
went into battle against against an
00:31:28
enemy then the people began became
00:31:30
terrified of him even before he reached
00:31:33
them and this he said Allah help me with
00:31:36
is frightening or fear uh and Allah Str
00:31:39
struck fear into the hearts of my
00:31:41
enemies for the distance of one entire
00:31:44
month of the specialities that he has
00:31:46
been given was that he has been given
00:31:49
the largest umah out of all of the
00:31:53
prophets and this is mentioned in aith
00:31:56
inar that he said that Allah showed me
00:31:59
the ums and I saw an um as large as the
00:32:02
eye could see and I said maybe this is
00:32:06
my umah and I was told no this is the um
00:32:09
of
00:32:10
M and then I saw an um even larger than
00:32:14
that and then I was told and it was
00:32:17
larger than the Horizon it blocked my
00:32:19
vision and I was told this is your um
00:32:22
and in another Hadith he said that to
00:32:25
the sahab do you wish that your um
00:32:28
meaning the um of the Prophet should be
00:32:31
onethird of the people of jenah they
00:32:34
said allahar there have been hundreds
00:32:36
and thousands of UMAS and if one um is
00:32:39
onethird of Jen allahar so he was silent
00:32:43
then he said would you be happy if I
00:32:45
told you that your umah is one/ half of
00:32:48
the people of Jenna they said allahar
00:32:51
then he was silent and then he said by
00:32:53
Allah my hope is that my um shall be too
00:32:57
thirds of the people of Jenna not that
00:33:00
we want to kick the other UMAS out
00:33:02
they're all going to get in if they
00:33:03
deserve it but that our umah will be so
00:33:06
large and Subhan Allah modern estimates
00:33:09
say how many people are Muslim on the
00:33:11
face of this Earth around 1 billion
00:33:13
right 1 billion do the math from the
00:33:15
time of the Prophet until imagine I mean
00:33:19
already the percentages are so huge and
00:33:22
then compare them to the real followers
00:33:24
of the prophets right the actual true
00:33:27
Christians not the Christians who
00:33:28
believe in the Divinity of Jesus Christ
00:33:30
the Christians who believed in Jesus
00:33:32
Christ as being how few must they be and
00:33:36
then the actual bani is at the time of M
00:33:39
at the time of the prophets of the old
00:33:41
who believed in the prophets they must
00:33:43
have been in the hundreds of millions
00:33:44
great number mallah great number but you
00:33:47
cannot compare to the billion that we
00:33:49
have now and and throughout history for
00:33:51
14 centuries and Allah knows how many
00:33:53
centuries till and so when you look at
00:33:56
that inshallah you can see
00:33:58
how true the prophet and imagine he's
00:34:00
speaking at a time when there's only one
00:34:03
city of Muslims that's Medina he's
00:34:05
speaking at a time when there are maybe
00:34:07
1,500 Muslims on Earth and there are
00:34:10
probably 2 three million Christians and
00:34:14
hundreds and thousands of Jews and he's
00:34:16
telling a group of 50 sahab in his Masid
00:34:18
that I hope that inshallah you will be
00:34:20
2third of the people of Jenna when we
00:34:23
hear this Hadith now we say of course
00:34:24
it's common sense but when he said it it
00:34:26
was a miracle and we see this now with
00:34:29
our two eyes of his
00:34:32
specialities that no other Prophet has
00:34:34
been given is that he has been given the
00:34:37
most powerful
00:34:39
miracle and that is the miracle of the
00:34:42
Quran now I've given many lectures about
00:34:44
this issue and inshallah one day we'll
00:34:46
talk also about this issue in more
00:34:47
detail but there is no miracle that
00:34:50
compares to the Quran there is no
00:34:52
miracle that compares to the Quran and
00:34:55
one thing will demonstrate this for you
00:34:56
and that is that
00:34:58
look look at any other miracle that you
00:35:00
can imagine the splitting of the Red Sea
00:35:02
or the resurrection of Lazarus Jesus
00:35:05
Christ resurrected by the permission of
00:35:06
Allah the dead right all of these
00:35:09
Miracles we have no access to them we
00:35:12
didn't see the splitting of the Red Sea
00:35:14
you weren't there when Jesus Christ
00:35:16
called out to Lazarus and he came out
00:35:17
walking from the grave so how do we it's
00:35:20
not really a miracle for me and you
00:35:22
except that we believe in it but the
00:35:24
Quran is a miracle that I can hand to a
00:35:27
non Muslim say here this is the miracle
00:35:29
of my Prophet the Quran is a miracle I
00:35:31
can recite and the people can hear it's
00:35:34
a living Miracle it's a miracle that all
00:35:37
of humanity has access to and there is
00:35:39
no miracle that compares to the miracle
00:35:41
of the Quran in many different ways and
00:35:43
that is the topic of an entire other
00:35:45
lecture of the specialities that our
00:35:47
Prophet has been given and no other
00:35:51
Prophet has been given and we will spend
00:35:53
inshallah two or 3 weeks discussing this
00:35:55
one speciality is the night journey
00:35:59
of no other Prophet has had the
00:36:02
privilege of undertaking this journey
00:36:06
even when Allah spoke with one of the
00:36:09
greatest prophets and that is
00:36:11
M it was the Divine speech that was
00:36:14
given to M while M was on Earth M was on
00:36:19
and Allah spoke with him as for our
00:36:22
Prophet sallallah alaihi wasallam the
00:36:24
only human being to have been called
00:36:27
called up to the presence of Allah no
00:36:31
other human being has ever been called
00:36:34
up to the presence of Allah and the
00:36:36
prophet undertook a journey that no
00:36:38
other as far as we know ever undertook
00:36:41
and he went up to a that jiel told him
00:36:45
my permission stops here you must go
00:36:47
alone even jiel said I this is my my my
00:36:51
stop is right my Visa whatever you want
00:36:52
to call it right this is where it ends
00:36:54
ends I can't go any further and so our
00:36:56
prophet
00:36:58
went
00:37:00
up according to an interpretation and
00:37:02
this we'll talk about inshallah in more
00:37:04
detail uh in in the Journey of but this
00:37:08
is definitely one of the greatest
00:37:10
blessings that our Prophet sallai wasam
00:37:14
was given of his specialities that he
00:37:17
was given is that he is the leader of
00:37:20
all of humanity and he himself told us
00:37:23
this in Inari and Muslim
00:37:28
I am the the here
00:37:32
means means the one who is in charge of
00:37:35
the one who is the representative the
00:37:37
one who is the
00:37:40
leader I am the of the children of Adam
00:37:44
and what do say here means many meanings
00:37:46
first and foremost he is the master
00:37:50
meaning what does it mean say master
00:37:52
here meaning he is the Perfection of
00:37:54
humanity and he deserves to be the
00:37:57
leader of humanity and he will be the
00:38:00
leader of Humanity on the day of
00:38:02
judgment so the say here has multiple
00:38:04
meanings and he is all of these meanings
00:38:07
so the prophet is the of the day of
00:38:10
Judgment of the blessings that are
00:38:12
unique to him is that the prophet
00:38:14
sallallah alaihi
00:38:16
wasam will be the very first human being
00:38:19
to be resurrected on the day of judgment
00:38:21
as we said in tells us this the first
00:38:24
grave to open up when the second trumpet
00:38:27
is BL there are two trumpets
00:38:30
right the trumpet will be blown twice
00:38:32
the second trumpet will be when the
00:38:34
graves will be opening up so when the
00:38:36
graves are opening up the prophet sallam
00:38:38
said the first grave that will crack
00:38:40
open will be mine the prophet will be
00:38:43
the first human being and that also
00:38:45
explains his name Al and he will also be
00:38:48
the first human being to be clothed on
00:38:50
the day of Judgment of the specialities
00:38:53
that he has been given is that he will
00:38:56
be given the largest
00:38:58
how and how is a pool that our Prophet
00:39:02
has been promised we talked about this
00:39:04
when we talked about of and this is a
00:39:08
pool a which is square in shape he has
00:39:12
told us it is square in shape and it is
00:39:15
so large that one side of it one of
00:39:18
these squares it is as if it is from
00:39:20
Mecca to which is the entire AR or half
00:39:24
of the Arabian Peninsula right from
00:39:25
mecah to this is just one one side of it
00:39:28
you multiply that by four you get the
00:39:30
perimeter and I described the and the in
00:39:34
a previous lecture inshallah you can go
00:39:36
back to that of his speciality is the K
00:39:38
he has been given the main tributary the
00:39:42
main river of Jenna and all the rivers
00:39:45
of Jenna split from that it is as if one
00:39:48
can say it is as if the people of jna
00:39:51
will drink water from the gift of the
00:39:54
Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
00:39:55
because it is Al and
00:39:58
is so the people of J's water is all a
00:40:02
gift for and coming from and given to
00:40:04
our Prophet Muhammad sallallah alai
00:40:07
wasam of his specialities is he will be
00:40:11
the first to cross over the satat and he
00:40:13
will be the one guiding his um to jenah
00:40:15
and he will be the first to knock on the
00:40:17
doors of Jenna and he will be the first
00:40:20
human being to ever enter Jenna after
00:40:23
our father Adam has left it and he will
00:40:26
be the one in whose name the gates of
00:40:28
Jenna will be opened when he knocks on
00:40:30
the door and the angel the bab the the
00:40:33
the the the angel in charge of the gate
00:40:35
will say who is it and he will say
00:40:37
Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam the
00:40:39
angel will say to you I have been
00:40:42
commanded to open meaning I can't open
00:40:44
for anybody else you are the one I have
00:40:46
to open for and so when his name is
00:40:48
uttered it is his name that will give be
00:40:51
the permission to open up the gates of
00:40:53
jenah and therefore as he told us the
00:40:55
very first footstep to be entering into
00:40:58
jenah will be that the right foot of our
00:41:00
Prophet Muhammad sallallah alaihi wasam
00:41:03
and then his umah will be the first umah
00:41:06
even though we are the last umah
00:41:09
chronologically but because we are his
00:41:11
umah and because we are his followers
00:41:14
Allah will bless us and Allah will gift
00:41:16
us and Allah will honor us not because
00:41:19
of us but because of him and we will be
00:41:21
asked to enter along with him so we will
00:41:24
be the first um to enter Jenna even
00:41:27
though we are the last um
00:41:28
chronologically and this is of his
00:41:30
specialities and the final speciality
00:41:32
will mention and there is so much more
00:41:34
to be said uh but time is of the essence
00:41:36
here the final speciality that will be
00:41:38
mentioned is that Allah has blessed him
00:41:42
with the highest level of Jen it is a
00:41:46
level that is the Pinnacle
00:41:49
of it is an entire level some Scholars
00:41:53
have said that Jenna you can look at it
00:41:55
kind of like a p pyramid in that the
00:41:59
higher up you go the fewer the people
00:42:01
right the higher up you go the fewer the
00:42:03
people so Jenna will be more populated
00:42:06
at the lower levels and there will be no
00:42:08
crowding in Jenna alhamdulillah but
00:42:10
nonetheless it will be more populated in
00:42:13
the lower levels and the higher up you
00:42:15
go fewer and fewer people will be able
00:42:17
to get to those levels and there will
00:42:21
come a point and there will come a level
00:42:23
that is an entire level of Jenna and
00:42:26
that is meant for only one person the
00:42:30
whole D the
00:42:32
whole plane of that field of Jenna is
00:42:36
only meant for one person and it is the
00:42:40
Pinnacle
00:42:41
of and it is immediately underneath the
00:42:44
Throne of Allah subhanahu wa taala and
00:42:47
this is
00:42:50
called This is called Al this is called
00:42:55
Al and the prophet
00:42:57
alai wasam said that
00:43:00
this is
00:43:03
a it is a level of Jenna that Allah has
00:43:07
chosen for only one of his servants for
00:43:12
only one of his servants and then he
00:43:14
said modestly
00:43:17
that I hope
00:43:20
that that I am that person and this is
00:43:23
out of his modesty there is no other
00:43:25
human being that is qualified to to be
00:43:27
of that place and so he simply said I
00:43:30
hope I pray that I am the person that
00:43:32
that is destined for and that is why he
00:43:35
wanted us to pray that Allah gives him
00:43:40
this and and that is why every time the
00:43:43
Adan is called what do we
00:43:53
say that is the of right
00:43:58
so is for the is for the day of judgment
00:44:01
is for after the day of judgment you
00:44:03
give him after the day of judgment we
00:44:05
give
00:44:06
him that
00:44:09
is and resurrect him on the day of
00:44:14
judgment so the is on the day of
00:44:17
judgment we explain what that is and
00:44:19
that is all of humanity will be praising
00:44:22
him and all of humanity will be sending
00:44:24
their Salat and Salam upon him even even
00:44:27
those who rejected him in this world
00:44:29
even those who cursed him and ridiculed
00:44:32
him and mocked him and Drew diagrams
00:44:34
against him W on that day they will be
00:44:37
praising him and sending salaat and
00:44:39
Salam upon him because they have to
00:44:41
because it is so all of humanity will be
00:44:44
praising him on the day of judgment
00:44:47
on and in the he will be
00:44:51
given and that is why we make Dua to
00:44:54
Allah to give him all of these levels
00:44:57
and characteristics and these are simply
00:44:59
some of the some of the specialities of
00:45:04
our Prophet Sall Al wasam and
00:45:06
unfortunately there's only a few minutes
00:45:08
left so there's no point beginning the
00:45:10
next section which is about his
00:45:11
characteristics and how he looked and
00:45:13
his mannerisms and his his lifestyle
00:45:16
insh we will be talking about that uh
00:45:19
next uh Wednesday
