  • 00:02:09
    [Applause]
  • 00:02:11
so can we talk about what happened at
  • 00:02:12
the end of the challenge because I think
  • 00:02:15
this is a sign of where a survivor is
  • 00:02:17
when it's great normally when a
  • 00:02:21
challenge ends we keep the tribes
  • 00:02:24
separated but I think everybody here saw
  • 00:02:26
    that something really powerful was
  • 00:02:28
    happening evil was struggling
  • 00:02:30
    emotionally struggling clearly there was
  • 00:02:32
a connection with a former tribe mate
  • 00:02:33
and Joe I felt it was okay for me to
  • 00:02:36
suggest they hugged and I could tell
  • 00:02:37
everybody agreed but Joe the other thing
  • 00:02:40
    that's happening there is relationships
  • 00:02:42
are being revealed you clearly have a
  • 00:02:45
relationship with Eva that matters to
  • 00:02:47
you so why was it important for you Joe
  • 00:02:50
to reveal part of your game and go give
  • 00:02:52
comfort to somebody who is on the other
  • 00:02:54
tribe jeff you know I want my kids
  • 00:02:57
watching to be i'm going to be the man I
  • 00:02:59
want them to be and the people I want
  • 00:03:00
them to be regardless of their game and
  • 00:03:02
that's what you do that's who I am so if
  • 00:03:06
it exposes it exposes but she was in
  • 00:03:08
need and I would want someone to treat
  • 00:03:10
my daughter that way in this game for
  • 00:03:12
    sure for sure Joe absolutely
  • 00:03:18
eva what was happening for you yeah um
  • 00:03:23
I'm I'm ready to tell my story to
  • 00:03:24
everybody um uh this is something that's
  • 00:03:27
really really important to me i have
  • 00:03:29
autism i was diagnosed when I was very
  • 00:03:32
very young doctors told my parents that
  • 00:03:35
I would never live independently that I
  • 00:03:37
would never hold a job that at most I
  • 00:03:40
could hope to marry someone else with
  • 00:03:42
    autism
  • 00:03:44
and my parents they did not give up on
  • 00:03:46
me and they put me through so many
  • 00:03:48
different treatments to help me get all
  • 00:03:51
the support that I needed and I was able
  • 00:03:54
to then enter school and be mainstreamed
  • 00:03:57
so I've never viewed my autism as a
  • 00:03:59
roadblock to success it's not something
  • 00:04:01
to work around it's just part of who I
  • 00:04:03
am there's nothing bad about it but I
  • 00:04:06
still have so many things that I
  • 00:04:08
struggle with with my autism i have
  • 00:04:10
these things called episodes where when
  • 00:04:12
I get extremely overstimulated I will
  • 00:04:15
get ungrounded and I'll lose control of
  • 00:04:17
myself and luckily I was able to still
  • 00:04:20
    finish the challenge i can't believe I
  • 00:04:21
finished it i can't believe that
  • 00:04:23
    happened
  • 00:04:25
but when I did finish it all of a sudden
  • 00:04:28
everything just came over me and I got
  • 00:04:30
    extremely overwhelmed and I started
  • 00:04:32
screaming and everyone saw that and I
  • 00:04:34
know nobody else knew what was going on
  • 00:04:35
but Joe knew because I needed someone in
  • 00:04:38
this game to understand what was going
  • 00:04:40
on in case something happened and that
  • 00:04:42
means the world to me and that's beyond
  • 00:04:45
this game that we're on different teams
  • 00:04:47
but he was willing to make sure that I
  • 00:04:49
was okay please let's take a step away
  • 00:04:51
from the game and understand that this
  • 00:04:54
is something that I deal with with my
  • 00:04:56
autism and everyone who has autism
  • 00:04:58
should not be ashamed to ask for help
  • 00:05:01
and ashamed to receive it so thank you
  • 00:05:04
all for allowing this to happen allowing
  • 00:05:06
him to come and help me and just
  • 00:05:08
    supporting me in this
  • 00:05:11
thank you thanks Eva it takes so much
  • 00:05:14
courage to play survivor for anybody but
  • 00:05:16
for you to come out here knowing
  • 00:05:18
something like this might happen and
  • 00:05:20
then be brave enough to share your story
  • 00:05:23
because there is a young girl or boy
  • 00:05:26
just like you watching right now going
  • 00:05:28
    "Hey mom hey
  • 00:05:30
Dad now you got me i'm a parent too and
  • 00:05:35
    I do see it."
  • 00:05:37
    And wow this has never
  • 00:05:41
happened but I see it too and it's why I
  • 00:05:43
love Survivor i really do i I like that
  • 00:05:46
you know Joe may end up blindsiding you
  • 00:05:49
