    so what happened one time was that we

    am just so aghast that i've let him down

    somehow betrayed his trust in me so i'm

    ultimately it's a gut feeling that you

    have whether this person is going to be

    a good fit or not you know i

    i can we can sit here forever and and

    all kinds of things and ask what kind of

    questions but in the end it's a gut

    instinct about whether or not you're

    so i think a lot of that has to do with

    your intuition and whether or not you

    long term

    because it takes immense amounts of

    energy to be an assistant

    immense you can't even begin to imagine

    not just the long hours but the sheer

    volume of things that are coming to you

    the sheer volume of

    everybody at the same time wanting

    things from you you know
  • 00:35:13
    some days you you just become in a state

    of overwhelm because it's just

    immense what they're asking all the time

    you have to know the answers you have to

    show the results there's lots of things

    that are on your shoulders

    so you have to i for me personally the

    it's like you know this is not what it

    to me an enneagram is maybe being

    misused

    as a personality test because of the

    origins of the enneagram

    but i so i would say yeah this can

    you have to travel with me and yes it's

    private travel but you're gonna have to

    getting along with somebody

    sharing a bathroom i mean i always say

    and this person just frustrated me no

    had to constantly work with his

    assistant and this assistant was just

    horrible and i would just be tearing my

    hair out and when my husband

    and she kept saying to me look i'm an

    old hand at this i can do it really fast

    and we can bang it out and

    and then it was a month and i was just

    freaking out so i just said to her look

    you need to tell me what's the situation

    i'm supposed to turn this book completed

    booking in one month

    and she said to me look i've got this

    client who i've been working with for a

    long time he's a nobel prize winner he's

    paying me a lot of money i can't give

    any more attention to you

    here's a brief outline of where i think

    who was kind of a broker for putting

    writers and editors together

    and he said to me i have somebody from

    you who's available right now the other

    people who i liked were not available

    and he said she's actually worked at
  • 01:33:14
    your publisher so she knows

    and she knows your editor so she knows

    you you gonna need to do and so

    i got all of my stuff i sent it to her

    and she helped me to organize it

    and it was a revelation to me

    all of these things that when you see a

    book and you wonder how on earth they do

    this i had to do all of that

    something i would send it to her she'd

    quickly they're going to look at the

    in such a way that they're going to want

    so she was a fantastic editor honestly i

    had stockholm syndrome at the end of it

    because i didn't want to let go of her

    because she had been with me for those

    three or four months and really helped

    got the book done to to the new deadline

    send it in and then i waited for a

    she wrote back to me early in the

    morning got an email from her and she
