Coffee..... the elixir for the liver, Living with liver disease
Summary
TLDRIn the video, the creator, a former alcohol consumer, shares their strong fondness for coffee and its multifaceted benefits. They express gratitude for supportive comments and discuss handling the transition from alcohol to coffee. Coffee is portrayed as a significant part of their daily routine, emphasizing its advantages including enhanced energy, mood improvement, and, importantly, liver health support. Key points cover various health benefits of coffee: it boosts energy, mitigates the risk of type 2 diabetes, supports brain and cognitive functions potentially reducing Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease risks, promotes weight management, and lowers depression risk. Despite these benefits, coffee is not recommended for everyone, especially individuals with high blood pressure or heart conditions, due to caffeine's potential to increase blood pressure. Particular emphasis is placed on coffee's positive effect on liver health. Studies and personal experiences highlight coffee's role in reducing liver damage risks, improving liver enzyme levels, and decreasing liver stiffness. Drinking 2-4 cups daily is suggested, although consultation with a healthcare provider is advised to tailor to individual health needs. The creator also notes that coffee acts as a diuretic, potentially aiding those with liver-related fluid retention issues. The video concludes with practical advice on choosing organic coffee to avoid pesticide exposure and suggests using refillable pods to enhance flavor and reduce costs. Overall, coffee is presented as a beneficial beverage with potential liver health benefits, especially for those recovering from alcohol dependency.

- 00:01:05to the comments from the video from the
- 00:01:06day before too uh I I haven't got to
- 00:01:08those yet as well um but I'm getting to
- 00:01:11them and I I'll I'll have them all done
- 00:01:13by the end of the day today but I just
- 00:01:15wanted to go ahead and get out here and
- 00:01:17film today's video and um what I want to
- 00:01:20talk about today is one of my favorite
- 00:01:24things in the entire world um which
- 00:01:27wasn't uh one of my favorite things in
- 00:01:29the world world when I was a
- 00:01:31drinker and what I want to talk about
- 00:01:33today is coffee
- 00:01:35and I I coffee truly is like my favorite
- 00:01:40thing uh to consume in out of everything
- 00:01:44in the
- 00:01:45world and since I've stopped drinking uh
- 00:01:48coffee has become a staple of my life
- 00:01:52and I probably do drink more than I
- 00:01:54should I'll be the first one to admit
- 00:01:56that because I do I drink a lot of
- 00:01:59coffee a lot of
- 00:02:01coffee but I got to say you know there's
- 00:02:04worse things to be drinking than coffee
- 00:02:06and uh you know will I say that I
- 00:02:09probably replaced alcohol with coffee a
- 00:02:12little
- 00:02:13bit I have to say I
- 00:02:16have and like I said I'll be the first
- 00:02:18one to admit that yes uh I do drink more
- 00:02:22than I probably should but once again uh
- 00:02:25I'm not drinking alcohol and um you know
- 00:02:28what I wanted to talk about today is uh
- 00:02:31the benefits of coffee and what coffee
- 00:02:33can do for us and you know this is one
- 00:02:35of those topics you know coffee is not
- 00:02:36for everybody it's just like drugs or
- 00:02:39alcohol you know each one's not for
- 00:02:42everybody you know you might have tried
- 00:02:44something you might have tried drinking
- 00:02:45and it it just didn't you know work for
- 00:02:48you and you don't like alcohol it's you
- 00:02:50know coffee is the same way not
- 00:02:52everybody likes coffee and not everybody
- 00:02:54can drink coffee you know certain people
- 00:02:56out there with heart conditions and
- 00:02:57stuff like that high blood pressure
- 00:03:00uh because it can raise your blood
- 00:03:02pressure up um and some people just
- 00:03:05can't stomach it it upsets some people's
- 00:03:07stomach so if coffee is not for you I
- 00:03:09get it but you know there are a lot of
- 00:03:11people out there who enjoy coffee uh
- 00:03:13like I do and uh that's what I want to
- 00:03:15talk about it today is uh you know how
- 00:03:18good coffee can be for you and uh you
- 00:03:21know what it can do for us um especially
- 00:03:24with uh improving our Liver Health
- 00:03:26because it it it does um now the thing
- 00:03:30is is that you know you want to be
- 00:03:31drinking black coffee and that's another
- 00:03:33thing I know that a lot of people don't
- 00:03:35like to drink black coffee and you know
- 00:03:39I don't drink all of my coffee black uh
- 00:03:42when I wake up first thing in the
- 00:03:43morning um I do use a zero sugar creamer
- 00:03:46in my first cup of coffee for the day uh
- 00:03:49you know it's just I I like a cup of
- 00:03:52coffee with some French vanilla creamer
- 00:03:54in there and I just have one but it's
- 00:03:57like my treat for the day it's my
- 00:03:58breakfast
- 00:04:00and sometimes I won't sometimes I'll
- 00:04:01actually save my coffee with the creamer
- 00:04:03in it for night time because I actually
- 00:04:05do have coffee a lot of times it's like
- 00:04:07my dessert at night and I'm one of those
- 00:04:10type of people that I can drink a cup of
- 00:04:12coffee and go right to sleep it does not
- 00:04:14keep me awake like that uh now when I
- 00:04:16you know when I was younger and when I
- 00:04:19didn't drink that much coffee I mean
- 00:04:21coffee used to make me have the Jitter
- 00:04:23so I would have the shakes if I drink
- 00:04:25too much coffee um and I really started
- 00:04:28drinking coffee pretty heavy in my late
- 00:04:3020s uh I was drinking like a lot of
- 00:04:33coffee back then but I then I started
- 00:04:35drinking in the mornings and I stopped
- 00:04:37drinking coffee because hot coffee and
- 00:04:40cold beer cuz I I was when I started
- 00:04:42drinking in the mornings I was drinking
- 00:04:44beer uh I wasn't quite at the point
- 00:04:46where I was drinking liquor in the
- 00:04:47morning quite yet that's one things just
- 00:04:49really got out of control for me um not
- 00:04:51saying that drinking beer in the morning
- 00:04:53is a good thing but I wasn't getting
- 00:04:54like three sheets to the wind at 8:00 in
- 00:04:56the morning when I was drinking beer um
- 00:04:59you know it took me a 12pack of beer
- 00:05:01just to even really catch a buzz and uh
- 00:05:03you know two or three beers for me was
- 00:05:05just I used to call it a snacka Tizer
- 00:05:08that's what I used to call it you know
- 00:05:10you know a couple beers I'm just going
- 00:05:11to I used to tell her but I'm just going
- 00:05:13to have a quick snacka Tizer and that
- 00:05:15was a beer for me but um anyway I don't
- 00:05:17want to carry on about that for too long
- 00:05:20the point of today's video is is about
- 00:05:22coffee and uh you know once again what
- 00:05:24coffee can do for us and the benefits of
- 00:05:27coffee um because like I said coffee is
- 00:05:30by far my favorite
- 00:05:33beverage so let's talk about what are
- 00:05:36some of the benefits of coffee uh you
- 00:05:39know just in general
- 00:05:42so I've got nine benefits right here uh
- 00:05:46let me put my glasses on really quick it
- 00:05:48was like super bright out here um but
- 00:05:51anyway so coffee can Boost energy levels
- 00:05:55coffee contains caffeine a central
- 00:05:57nervous system stimulant that's been
- 00:05:59known for it ability to fight fatigue
- 00:06:00and increase energy levels so once again
- 00:06:04uh it says this uh is because caffeine
- 00:06:06blocks receptors of a neurotransmitter
- 00:06:08called
- 00:06:10adenosine it increases levels of other
- 00:06:12neurotransmitters in your brain that
- 00:06:14regulate your energy levels including
- 00:06:16dopamine so uh uh coffee is or caffeine
- 00:06:20is dopamine energic uh one small study
- 00:06:23found that consuming uh caffeine
- 00:06:25increases increase time to exhaustion
- 00:06:28during a cycling exercise by 12% and
- 00:06:32significantly reduce objective levels of
- 00:06:34fatigue in
- 00:06:35participants another study had similar
- 00:06:38findings reporting that consuming
- 00:06:39caffeine before and during a round of
- 00:06:42golf imp improved in performance
- 00:06:45increased subjective energy levels and
- 00:06:46reduce feelings of fatigue so uh you
- 00:06:49know it can help us with our energy
- 00:06:50levels which I can tell you right now I
- 00:06:52need uh you know and I don't really feel
- 00:06:55the effects uh from it that much anymore
- 00:06:59um
- 00:07:00but when I don't drink coffee I can tell
- 00:07:03uh I definitely can tell and you know
- 00:07:05one of the things that comes along with
- 00:07:06liver disease is fatigue um I'm tired
- 00:07:09all the time I'm tired right now like
- 00:07:12exhausted uh I don't know if you can see
- 00:07:14it in my eyes or not but I'm like really
- 00:07:16really tired right now and uh I I just
- 00:07:19had a cup of coffee before I came out
- 00:07:21here and I like I said I drink coffee
- 00:07:23all day long I probably drink somewhere
- 00:07:25between four five six cups of coffee a
- 00:07:28day and I'm just being completely honest
- 00:07:29with you guys now there's days where I
- 00:07:31just can't drink that much coffee cuz I
- 00:07:33have a surgery or something like that
- 00:07:34but I can tell you like this when I wake
- 00:07:37up from my surgery the first thing that
- 00:07:39I ask for is a cup of coffee and I while
- 00:07:42I'm in the hospital in the recovery I'm
- 00:07:44drinking coffee they they all know me in
- 00:07:47there too sorry about the wing guys but
- 00:07:49they all know me in there and they
- 00:07:50already know too that I'm going to ask
- 00:07:52for a cup of coffee so usually like
- 00:07:54right as I start to stir and wake up
- 00:07:56they're already grabbing my coffee for
- 00:07:57me and bringing it to me because like
- 00:07:59that's what I'm looking forward to and
- 00:08:01you can't have coffee before you have
- 00:08:02your procedure uh you know you can't
- 00:08:05have anything to eat after midnight so I
- 00:08:07woke up that morning didn't get my
- 00:08:09coffee so the first thing I'm looking
- 00:08:11for is a cup of coffee after that
- 00:08:14another thing that coffee can do for us
- 00:08:16is uh may be linked to a lower risk of
- 00:08:18type 2 diabetes which is a really good
- 00:08:21thing right there so some research
- 00:08:24suggests that consuming coffee regularly
- 00:08:26could be associated with a increased
- 00:08:28risk of developing type diabetes over
- 00:08:30the long term in fact one review of 30
- 00:08:33studies found that each cup of coffee
- 00:08:35people consum consume per day was linked
- 00:08:38to a 6% lower risk for developing type 2
- 00:08:41diabetes this is thought to be due to
- 00:08:44coffee's ability to preserve the
- 00:08:45function of the beta cells in your
- 00:08:47pancreas which a response for reducing
- 00:08:50insulin to regulate blood sugar levels
- 00:08:53plus it's rich in antioxidants which may
- 00:08:56affect insulin sensitivity inflammation
- 00:08:58and metabolism ISM all of which are
- 00:09:01involved in the development of type 2
- 00:09:06diabetes so another thing could support
- 00:09:09brain health although Studies have
- 00:09:12turned up mixed results some research
- 00:09:14suggest that coffee may help protect
- 00:09:16against certain neuro uh degenerative
- 00:09:20disorders including Alzheimer's disease
- 00:09:22and Parkinson's disease according to one
- 00:09:24review of 13 studies people who
- 00:09:26regularly consume caffeine had a
- 00:09:28significantly lowered risk of developing
- 00:09:31Parkinson's disease what's more caffeine
- 00:09:34consumption also show slowed the
- 00:09:36progression of parkon disease over time
- 00:09:39another review of 11 observational
- 00:09:41studies and more than 29,000 people also
- 00:09:44found that more the more coffee people
- 00:09:47consume the lower risk of their
- 00:09:49Alzheimer disease additionally seever
- 00:09:52several studies have demonstrated that
- 00:09:53moderate coffee consumption could be
- 00:09:55associated with a lower risk of dementia
- 00:09:57and cognitive decline
- 00:10:00another great thing from drinking coffee
- 00:10:03it may Pro promote weight management
- 00:10:06According to some research coffee could
- 00:10:08alter fat storage and support gut health
- 00:10:10both of which may be beneficial for
- 00:10:12weight management for example one review
- 00:10:15of 12 studies concluded that higher
- 00:10:17coffee consumption could be associated
- 00:10:19with a decrease body fat especially in
- 00:10:21Men in another study increased coffee
- 00:10:24intake was linked to the decreased body
- 00:10:26fat in women furthermore one study found
- 00:10:29found that people who drank one to two
- 00:10:31cups of coffee per day were 17% more
- 00:10:33likely to meet recommended physical
- 00:10:35activity levels compared with those who
- 00:10:37drink less than one cup per day higher
- 00:10:40levels of physical activity could help
- 00:10:42promote weight management so you know
- 00:10:44back to the point that it gives us more
- 00:10:46energy you know helps us not be so
- 00:10:48fatigued we're able to get you know more
- 00:10:50exercise done so we're just improving
- 00:10:51our overall health with it it's linked
- 00:10:54to a lower risk of depression some
- 00:10:56Studies have found that drinking coffee
- 00:10:58could be associated with a lower risk of
- 00:11:00depression according to one of according
- 00:11:03to one review of seven studies each cup
- 00:11:05of coffee people consume per day was
- 00:11:07linked to an 8% lower risk of
- 00:11:10depression wow so I drink like five cups
- 00:11:13of coffee today so I've got a 40% less
- 00:11:16chance of being depressed another study
- 00:11:18found that drinking at least four cups
- 00:11:20of coffee each day was associated with a
- 00:11:23significantly lower risk of depression
- 00:11:24compared with drinking just one cup per
- 00:11:26day what's more one study and more than
- 00:11:30200,000 people showed that drinking
- 00:11:31coffee was link to a lower risk of death
- 00:11:35by you know what starts with an S I'm
- 00:11:38not going to say the
- 00:11:39name so another great reason why it it
- 00:11:43can help us not be so depressed and you
- 00:11:46know the thing is I mean why did a lot
- 00:11:48do a lot of us drink and why you know
- 00:11:51why would we drink when we would get
- 00:11:54depressed and then drink or either it's
- 00:11:56anxiety and I think a lot of us have
- 00:11:58depression and anxiety were the reasons
- 00:12:00that we drank and Trauma I think is the
- 00:12:03bottom line and the base of a lot of us
- 00:12:06is you know
- 00:12:09trauma uh depression and anxiety uh and
- 00:12:13you know coffee and it just said right
- 00:12:15there you know due to some studies that
- 00:12:17an 8% decrease in the risk of depression
- 00:12:20each cup of coffee I'm not saying go out
- 00:12:22there and drink 10 cups of coffee to get
- 00:12:25an 80% RI you know depression uh reduced
- 00:12:28risk but you know uh you know having a
- 00:12:32couple cups of coffee every day can help
- 00:12:34significantly with that and um I can
- 00:12:37tell you guys I drink a lot of coffee
- 00:12:39and uh you know I'm normally in a pretty
- 00:12:41good mood and um you know my depression
- 00:12:46is not as bad as it was back in those
- 00:12:48days do I still get depressed yeah
- 00:12:50absolutely um do I still get anxiety
- 00:12:53yeah but nowhere near the levels I did
- 00:12:56when I was a drinker uh especially the
- 00:12:58depression
- 00:12:59um now of course you know sometimes I'll
- 00:13:02start thinking about things and my
- 00:13:03health condition and my mind will start
- 00:13:06to wonder and I'll start to feel a
- 00:13:07little depressed but then what I do is
- 00:13:09uh uh you know I'll get up and maybe go
- 00:13:13outside get in the Sun for a little bit
- 00:13:14try to change my mind put in my earbuds
- 00:13:17listen to a podcast or an audio book or
- 00:13:19something and uh you know another thing
- 00:13:22too is uh you know I sit down and uh
- 00:13:25I'll pray and uh you know I think
- 00:13:28praying is a lot like meditation you
- 00:13:30know we're setting our intentions you
- 00:13:32know we're asking for what we
- 00:13:34want asking for guidance asking for
- 00:13:37clarity you know these are the types of
- 00:13:39things uh you know I really do think
- 00:13:41that help us you know it's almost a it's
- 00:13:43almost a state of
- 00:13:45meditation what's another thing could
- 00:13:48protect against liver
- 00:13:51conditions and I'm going to talk more
- 00:13:53about what it can do for our liver here
- 00:13:55after I get done with just these basic
- 00:13:56things that coffee can do for us but
- 00:13:59this is a big one right here
- 00:14:01interestingly several studies suggest
- 00:14:03that coffee could support Liver Health
- 00:14:05and protect against disease now I will
- 00:14:08say before I get into all this because
- 00:14:10I've you know I did all this research
- 00:14:11before I did today's video um they're
- 00:14:14not really sure what the mechanism of
- 00:14:15action is why coffee helps our liver the
- 00:14:18way it does uh but there's been a lot of
- 00:14:20scientific studies that have been done
- 00:14:22and uh you know they they have found
- 00:14:25that coffee does improve Liver Health
- 00:14:27they're not sure if it's the actual
- 00:14:28caffeine
- 00:14:29or if it's the antioxidants in the
- 00:14:31coffee but there's like a whole bunch of
- 00:14:32different things of coffee that could be
- 00:14:34attributed to it it could be all of them
- 00:14:36together um it could be just a caffeine
- 00:14:38or it could be one of those specific
- 00:14:39items in the coffee they're not really
- 00:14:41sure they just know that drinking coffee
- 00:14:43does improve Liver Health um but it says
- 00:14:45here for instance one study found that
- 00:14:47drinking uh more than two cups of coffee
- 00:14:50per day was linked to a lower rates of
- 00:14:53liver scarring and liver cancer in
- 00:14:55people with liver
- 00:14:56disease other research shows shows that
- 00:14:59the more coffee people drink the lower
- 00:15:01risk of their death from chronic liver
- 00:15:03disease drinking one cup of coffee per
- 00:15:06day was tied to a 15% lower risk while
- 00:15:09drinking four cups per day was linked to
- 00:15:11a
- 00:15:1271% lower
- 00:15:16risk 71% lower risk four cups of coffee
- 00:15:21from dying from chronic liver
- 00:15:24disease another recent study found that
- 00:15:27coffee consumption was associ iated with
- 00:15:29decreased liver
- 00:15:32stiffness which is a measure Health Care
- 00:15:34Professionals use to assess fibrosis the
- 00:15:37formation of scar tissue in the liver so
- 00:15:40the summary is coffee consumption could
- 00:15:42be linked to a decreased risk of death
- 00:15:43from chronic liver disease along with
- 00:15:45other conditions like liver scarring and
- 00:15:48liver cancer and we're going to go a
- 00:15:49little bit more in depth in this here
- 00:15:50after I get done with these uh here's
- 00:15:53another one supports heart health some
- 00:15:57rearch research shows that drinking
- 00:15:59coffee May benefit heart health in fact
- 00:16:03one review found that drinking 3 to five
- 00:16:06cups of coffee per day was tied to a 15%
- 00:16:09reduced risk of heart disease another
- 00:16:12review of 21 studies showed that
- 00:16:13drinking coffee drinking three to four
- 00:16:16cups of coffee daily was associated with
- 00:16:18the 21% lower risk of
- 00:16:20stroke what's more one study and more
- 00:16:23than 21,000 people also found that
- 00:16:26increased coffee intake was associated
- 00:16:28with the significantly decrease risk of
- 00:16:30heart
- 00:16:31failure however keep in mind that
- 00:16:33caffeine this is what I was talking
- 00:16:34about at the beginning keep in mind that
- 00:16:36caffeine could affect blood pressure
- 00:16:38levels therefore people with unmanaged
- 00:16:40blood pressure may need to limit or
- 00:16:41moderate their caffeine intake so if you
- 00:16:44have high blood pressure it's probably
- 00:16:46not a good idea just to be drinking a
- 00:16:48whole lot of coffee because it does
- 00:16:49raise blood
- 00:16:52pressure the next one could increase
- 00:16:55longevity some research suggest that
- 00:16:57coffee could help extend and Longevity
- 00:16:59thanks to his multitude of potential
- 00:17:02health benefits for example one review
- 00:17:04of 40 studies concluded that drinking
- 00:17:06two to four cups of coffee daily was
- 00:17:08associated with a lower risk of death
- 00:17:10regardless of factors like age weight
- 00:17:13status weight status and alcohol
- 00:17:16consumption similarly another study in
- 00:17:201,567 people found that drinking Deca
- 00:17:24caffeinated coffee was linked to a lower
- 00:17:26risk of death after 12 and 18 years
- 00:17:29followup furthermore drinking at least
- 00:17:31one cup of coffee per day was also
- 00:17:33associated with a lower risk of death
- 00:17:34from cancer interestingly one test tube
- 00:17:38study showed that coffee was unable to
- 00:17:41significantly extend the lifespan of
- 00:17:43yeast by protecting against free
- 00:17:45radicals in DNA damage however more
- 00:17:48researchers needed to determine whether
- 00:17:50this could have just applied to humans
- 00:17:53the next one may enhance athletic
- 00:17:56performance coffee is often used as a ER
- 00:18:01ergogenic Aid by by athletes looking to
- 00:18:04improve performance and increase energy
- 00:18:06levels an ergogenic aid is also called a
- 00:18:11performance enhancer one review of nine
- 00:18:13studies reported that drinking coffee
- 00:18:15before exercise improve people's
- 00:18:16endurance and increase their perceived
- 00:18:18ex exertion compared with a control
- 00:18:21group another study in 126 older adults
- 00:18:25found that drinking coffee was
- 00:18:26associated with improved physical
- 00:18:29performance and faster gate speed even
- 00:18:32after the researchers adjusted for
- 00:18:34factors like age B belly fat and
- 00:18:36physical activity levels so another
- 00:18:38really cool thing so the bottom line
- 00:18:40here coffee is a popular be beverage
- 00:18:43that researchers have studied
- 00:18:45extensively for its many health benefits
- 00:18:47including its ability to increase energy
- 00:18:49levels Pro weight promote weight
- 00:18:52management enhance athletic performance
- 00:18:54and protect against chronic disease keep
- 00:18:57in mind that some people may need need
- 00:18:58to limit their intake including people
- 00:19:00who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- 00:19:02children and Adolescence and people with
- 00:19:04certain health conditions still drinking
- 00:19:06coffee in moderation about 3 to four
- 00:19:08cups per day has also been associated
- 00:19:11with several health benefits and is
- 00:19:13generally considered safe for most
- 00:19:15adults so those some really cool things
- 00:19:17that uh you know coffee can do for us
- 00:19:20well let's talk about what coffee can do
- 00:19:21for us for our
- 00:19:23liver so here drinking coffee is
- 00:19:25generally considered good to be good for
- 00:19:27your liver and there is evidence that it
- 00:19:30can reduce the risk of liver disease
- 00:19:33coffee May reduce the risk of liver
- 00:19:35damage sorosis and hepo hepat cellular
- 00:19:40carcinoma HCC a type of liver
- 00:19:44cancer it can improve liver enzyme
- 00:19:47levels coffee consumption May improve
- 00:19:49liver enzyme levels especially in people
- 00:19:53at risk for liver disease so if you've
- 00:19:56been drinking for a long period of time
- 00:19:59uh you know you've been drinking for a
- 00:20:02decade and you just quit drinking and
- 00:20:06you know you think your liver might you
- 00:20:08know have had some damage coffee is a
- 00:20:11really good thing to consume uh because
- 00:20:14it does it helps with our liver a
- 00:20:17lot it can also slow the progression of
- 00:20:20liver disease coffee may slow the
- 00:20:22progression of liver disease in some
- 00:20:24people and you know once again I drink a
- 00:20:27lot of coffee every single day and I
- 00:20:29love coffee but also it's you know when
- 00:20:32I first got sick found out I had
- 00:20:34therosis is one of the first things that
- 00:20:36I looked up was what can I do to help
- 00:20:38myself with this and one of the things
- 00:20:41was was drink coffee and I decided Well
- 00:20:45I'm just going to start drinking coffee
- 00:20:46every day and you know I had a really
- 00:20:49hard time eating during that time period
- 00:20:51too I just could not stomach food uh
- 00:20:54especially when I first got out of the
- 00:20:56hospital the first time and the second
- 00:20:57time those were only a few months in
- 00:20:59between and I was having a lot of
- 00:21:01pancreatic problems and you know my
- 00:21:03liver was really acting up during that
- 00:21:05period of time I had
- 00:21:07jice my ammonia levels were through the
- 00:21:09roof it was just a mess and uh you know
- 00:21:13I just I I I couldn't eat a lot but I
- 00:21:15could drink coffee and I couldn't just
- 00:21:16drink you know drink it really fast but
- 00:21:18it was something that I could drink and
- 00:21:21um I'm telling you guys I fell in love
- 00:21:23with it and I really wasn't that big of
- 00:21:26a coffee drinker before I found I had
- 00:21:27therosis but you know I sto drinking you
- 00:21:31know I kind of replace the alcohol with
- 00:21:33coffee and then it's got all these other
- 00:21:35benefits including it as well um I I
- 00:21:39just think it's a great addition in our
- 00:21:41arsenal of tools that we can use to
- 00:21:44improve our Liver Health improve our
- 00:21:45health in
- 00:21:47general uh here's another thing too uh
- 00:21:50it reduces liver stiffness drinking more
- 00:21:53than three cups of coffee a day May
- 00:21:55reduce liver stiffness and if any of you
- 00:21:58guys have ever had a fibrosis test uh
- 00:22:01you they basically go and they they uh
- 00:22:03they check the stiffness of your liver
- 00:22:06and they give you a score and um you
- 00:22:09know the stiffer our liver gets the
- 00:22:11harder it is for the blood to flow
- 00:22:13through it um I've talked about this
- 00:22:15many times but you know think of your
- 00:22:16liver as like a water filter um you know
- 00:22:20when you get a brand new water filter
- 00:22:21let's say you buy one of those Britt
- 00:22:23water filters that you like you fill up
- 00:22:26the picture and you put it in your
- 00:22:27fridge uh when you you first get that
- 00:22:29water filter you get get a brand new uh
- 00:22:31bre uh you know little jug uh when you
- 00:22:34first get it you know it's got the
- 00:22:36little area on the top you pour the
- 00:22:37water in there the water filters down
- 00:22:39through and it fills up the container in
- 00:22:40the bottom when you first get it you
- 00:22:43pour the water in there it basically
- 00:22:44filters right through immediately But as
- 00:22:47time goes on and you know as the days go
- 00:22:49on and the more and more that we pour
- 00:22:51water in there and we start filling it
- 00:22:53up what starts to happen well that
- 00:22:55filter starts to get sediment uh you
- 00:22:58know all kinds of garbage that's
- 00:22:59catching the chemicals the chlorine all
- 00:23:01that kind of stuff that's catching
- 00:23:02depending on your filter what is
- 00:23:04catching um and the more stuff that gets
- 00:23:07in those little teeny membranes inside
- 00:23:09that filter the slower that that water
- 00:23:12starts to pour through well that's
- 00:23:13basically what's happening with our
- 00:23:14liver uh so you know if you have a
- 00:23:16really healthy liver the blood flows too
- 00:23:18just like a brand new water filter but
- 00:23:21as we drink and or Andor whatever else
- 00:23:25because you know therosis and liver
- 00:23:27disease stuff is not just caused because
- 00:23:31of uh drinking alcohol there's a lot of
- 00:23:33other things that can happen you have
- 00:23:35autoimmune disease hepatitis I mean
- 00:23:37there's a lot of stuff that can cause it
- 00:23:39uh you know starting with fatty liver
- 00:23:42and not doing anything about fatty liver
- 00:23:43and letting that progress the curosis
- 00:23:45there's a lot of people that are here on
- 00:23:47this channel that don't that didn't
- 00:23:49drink uh they just ended up with fatty
- 00:23:51liver because man they drink too much
- 00:23:52soda or ate too much sugar or had
- 00:23:56autoimmune disease and then that
- 00:23:58progressed over from fatty liver to
- 00:24:00therosis uh so I just wanted to clarify
- 00:24:03that not it not all liver diseases
- 00:24:04create equals not it doesn't all come
- 00:24:06from the same reasons um and you know
- 00:24:09I'm sure there's a lot of people out
- 00:24:10there uh who have ended up with the uh
- 00:24:13fatty liver and dcos um or fibrosis and
- 00:24:18they go to the doctor and they're
- 00:24:19getting you know the stigma from healthc
- 00:24:21Care Professionals sometimes and it's
- 00:24:23not uh you know that most people think
- 00:24:26that when somebody has liver disease
- 00:24:28from alcohol and that's just not always
- 00:24:30the case and I'm sure there's a lot of
- 00:24:31people out there who you know are
- 00:24:34dealing with this and you know they go
- 00:24:36and you know people think that they're a
- 00:24:38drinker and they're not but anyway once
- 00:24:41again I'm getting off subject um another
- 00:24:45thing that coffee can do is it acts as a
- 00:24:47diuretic coffee can act as a diuretic
- 00:24:49which may help cleanse the liver and
- 00:24:51kidneys of harmful chemicals another
- 00:24:54thing too uh with coffee being a
- 00:24:57diuretic um um if you are dealing with
- 00:24:59aites uh number one you're only allowed
- 00:25:02to drink well you can drink as much as
- 00:25:04you want you're not I don't want to say
- 00:25:06aloud um you're only supposed to drink
- 00:25:09two lers of fluid a day and you want to
- 00:25:14what you drink you want to make a count
- 00:25:16um you know you don't want to drink two
- 00:25:18liters of soda when you're dealing with
- 00:25:20aides uh you know you really want to be
- 00:25:22drinking water and stuff like that but
- 00:25:24coffee is a great addition and um you
- 00:25:27know you can you can adjust your amount
- 00:25:29of coffee you know uh if you have like a
- 00:25:32curig machine or something like that you
- 00:25:33know it gives you the option do you want
- 00:25:35a 9 o 8 oz 11 oz cup 12 oz cup you know
- 00:25:39make yourself an 8 oz cup of coffee uh
- 00:25:42make it the small one um and you know
- 00:25:45have coffee in place of drinking water
- 00:25:49uh you know not only um is it great
- 00:25:52thing to drink because it does all these
- 00:25:54great things for us it's helping our
- 00:25:55liver uh you know reduce the stiffness
- 00:25:58and all that stuff um but not just that
- 00:26:01it's a diuretic so if you're dealing
- 00:26:02with aites it's going to help you to pee
- 00:26:05out uh that excess fluid that you have
- 00:26:07inside your body and if you're dealing
- 00:26:09with aides they're going to put you on
- 00:26:10diuretics and lasic anyway most likely
- 00:26:13uh especially lasx in the beginning they
- 00:26:15don't like you to stay on the lasx too
- 00:26:16long but the thing is that you can add
- 00:26:18another Tool uh once again in your
- 00:26:21toolbox of things that you can do to
- 00:26:22help yourself by drinking coffee because
- 00:26:24it's a natural diuretic in itself and
- 00:26:27you and and like I said said you don't
- 00:26:28want to be taking the lasx for too long
- 00:26:31uh so if you're taking a diuretic and
- 00:26:32drinking coffee you're really going to
- 00:26:34be getting a lot of that excess fluid
- 00:26:35out by by urinating it
- 00:26:39out um and then on top of it it's it's
- 00:26:42cleansing your liver and your kidneys
- 00:26:45out um I saw another thing too while I
- 00:26:48was doing my research today that it said
- 00:26:50that um drinking coffee can also uh help
- 00:26:54to prevent getting kidney stones and I
- 00:26:56was not aware of that there's another
- 00:26:59thing right there I've never had kidney
- 00:27:00stones before but after speaking to so
- 00:27:02many people here on the channel because
- 00:27:04people have had all kinds of problems
- 00:27:06here um you know and I talk about my
- 00:27:09health problems and people will share
- 00:27:10back with me their problems that they've
- 00:27:12had and people have told me that having
- 00:27:14kidney stones is like very very very
- 00:27:17painful like extremely
- 00:27:20excruciatingly painful and people have
- 00:27:22told me uh that you know you do not want
- 00:27:25to end up with kidney stones um so here
- 00:27:28you go you know drinking coffee can help
- 00:27:30reduce your kidney stones you know
- 00:27:32prevent you from getting them and if
- 00:27:34you're dealing with all this other stuff
- 00:27:35all these other health complications
- 00:27:36especially liver and pancreatic problems
- 00:27:39you're already going to be in enough
- 00:27:40pain and you're going to be pretty
- 00:27:42miserable anyway why end up with kidney
- 00:27:44stones as well and if they can help
- 00:27:46prevent them uh man just another add-on
- 00:27:50in addition of why you want to drink
- 00:27:52coffee um so here's something right here
- 00:27:55however coffee cannot always prevent
- 00:27:56liver disease other factors that can
- 00:27:59affect Liver Health include reducing
- 00:28:02alcohol consumption which is you know
- 00:28:03pretty much no brainer eating a healthy
- 00:28:06diet staying active following your
- 00:28:10doctor's advice and avoiding coffee with
- 00:28:12sugar syrups or creams um and like I
- 00:28:16said you know I I will have uh you know
- 00:28:21a cup of coffee in the morning first
- 00:28:22thing with a little bit of creamer in it
- 00:28:24and I don't like pour like a cup of it
- 00:28:26in there you know it's like two
- 00:28:28tablespoons of creamer and then that's
- 00:28:30it for the rest of day it's it's black
- 00:28:32coffee for me for the rest of day and
- 00:28:33it's not every day that I drink that as
- 00:28:35well it's just you know every once in a
- 00:28:37while I wake up and I do want to have
- 00:28:39some creamer in there especially on
- 00:28:40those mornings when you wake up it's
- 00:28:43like right now you know it's starting to
- 00:28:45cool off this is this is by far my
- 00:28:47favorite time of the year I love when it
- 00:28:50starts to get you know where the leaves
- 00:28:51start to change the weather starts to
- 00:28:54cool down the days start to get a little
- 00:28:56bit shorter the winds start to pick up a
- 00:28:58little bit and uh especially in the
- 00:29:01mornings and at night oh my gosh it's
- 00:29:03just it's so nice to be outside in the
- 00:29:06mornings and at night time during this
- 00:29:07time of year cuz it's just so cool and
- 00:29:10when I get myself a nice hot super hot
- 00:29:13cup of coffee with just a little bit of
- 00:29:15creamer in it I love going out in the
- 00:29:18morning and sitting outside on my porch
- 00:29:20and just looking off into the woods and
- 00:29:22that's the time when the deer are out
- 00:29:24and the rabbits are out and all the
- 00:29:25wildlife's out you know prancing around
- 00:29:28and it's just beautiful to sit out and
- 00:29:30watch the birds first thing in the
- 00:29:32morning it's it's it's like my favorite
- 00:29:34thing in the world to
- 00:29:36do but um here's another thing too that
- 00:29:39I pulled up just WebMD and it's uh you
- 00:29:43know can cough can coffee help your
- 00:29:46liver and uh it's got a whole bunch of
- 00:29:48different things here of uh you know
- 00:29:50things that coffee may do for a liver
- 00:29:53and it can help prevent liver disease or
- 00:29:55liver cancer uh it can help prevent
- 00:29:58cancer and the lining of the uterus
- 00:30:00called the
- 00:30:00[Music]
- 00:30:02endometrium uh fibrosis a disease that
- 00:30:04may scar tissue from inside your liver
- 00:30:06it's reaction to conditions like
- 00:30:08hepatitis or alcohol use disorder it can
- 00:30:11help prevent curosis a late stage of
- 00:30:13fibrosis as the disease gets worse your
- 00:30:15liver has a harder time doing its
- 00:30:17job non-alcohol related fatty liver
- 00:30:20disease what we were just talking about
- 00:30:22which develops when the liver cells
- 00:30:23store too much fat it also helps keep
- 00:30:25your liver from working like it should
- 00:30:27it can help a par disease a brain
- 00:30:29disorder that affects movement control
- 00:30:31Alzheimer's disease it can also help
- 00:30:33with gout and I have talked about gout I
- 00:30:36I've had gout for a very long time and I
- 00:30:39can promise you you do not want to end
- 00:30:40up with that uh gout type of arthritis
- 00:30:43that happens when you have too much uric
- 00:30:45acid in your blood and it forms sharp
- 00:30:47crystals in one or more of your
- 00:30:50joints it says here if you're a big-
- 00:30:52Time coffee lover the news gets better
- 00:30:54the more you drink the more your chances
- 00:30:56of liver disease go down and one study
- 00:30:58researchers found that putting away two
- 00:31:00cups a day cut the odds of sosis by
- 00:31:0544% and four cups a day lowered them by
- 00:31:1065% those are crazy
- 00:31:13numbers I mean two cups of coffee
- 00:31:16reduces it by 44% and then by drinking
- 00:31:19four cups a day 65% I mean that's like
- 00:31:22that's like a miracle right there I mean
- 00:31:25really um
- 00:31:28if you already if you're if you already
- 00:31:31have a problem with your liver coffee
- 00:31:32may help with that research shows that
- 00:31:34moderate amounts typically typically
- 00:31:36between 1 and three cups a day may slow
- 00:31:38down the following conditions fibrosis
- 00:31:41therosis Hepatitis B and C and
- 00:31:44non-alcoholic fatty liver disease so how
- 00:31:47does it help in addition to caffeine
- 00:31:49coffee has more than 1,000 chemicals
- 00:31:52doctors are still trying to figure out
- 00:31:54what the body does with them that makes
- 00:31:57coffee helpful here are a few pieces of
- 00:31:59the puzzle when your body digests
- 00:32:01caffeine it makes a chemical called
- 00:32:04paranthe that slows the growth of scar
- 00:32:07tissue involved in
- 00:32:09fibrosis that may help help fight liver
- 00:32:12cancer alcohol related sosis non-alcohol
- 00:32:15related fatty liver disease and
- 00:32:17hepatitis C two chemicals in coffee kall
- 00:32:22and cafestol may help fight cancer
- 00:32:25doctors aren't sure how powerful the
- 00:32:27effect is but some moderate amounts of
- 00:32:30unsweetened coffee could work alongside
- 00:32:34the main treatments for most common con
- 00:32:36of liver cancer hepo hepatocellular
- 00:32:40carcinoma which we talked about
- 00:32:42earlier acids and coffee may work
- 00:32:44against the virus that causes hepatitis
- 00:32:47B one study found that decaf coffee
- 00:32:50could have the same
- 00:32:52benefit Studies have found that coffee
- 00:32:54helps men and women equally and the
- 00:32:56benefits show up no matter how the
- 00:32:59coffee is made filtered instant or
- 00:33:02espresso coffee is medicine doctors
- 00:33:05saying coffee might become an important
- 00:33:06weapon in the fight against liver
- 00:33:08disease after all it isn't easy to get
- 00:33:11and doesn't have doesn't cost much
- 00:33:14doesn't have to cost much I'm sorry but
- 00:33:17at this point doctors don't have enough
- 00:33:19uh information to recommend any specific
- 00:33:21amount and coffee may not be for
- 00:33:23everyone even though it might help your
- 00:33:26liver it may raise your chances of other
- 00:33:29conditions for example some chemicals in
- 00:33:31it may raise your cholesterol level or
- 00:33:33blood pressure that could be a caution
- 00:33:35sign for people with high blood pressure
- 00:33:37children and teens and older
- 00:33:40adults no matter how good coffee might
- 00:33:43be for you the key to taking care of
- 00:33:44your liver is still your lifestyle
- 00:33:47eating healthy food go easy on the
- 00:33:49Alcohol watch your weight get vaccinated
- 00:33:51for Hep hepatitis A and B and avoid
- 00:33:54sharing needles and get regular exercise
- 00:33:57so
- 00:33:58guys the the proof is there and uh I'm
- 00:34:01just going to put my sunglasses back on
- 00:34:02really quick but the proof is there it
- 00:34:05is
- 00:34:06uh coffee is great for us it's great for
- 00:34:09our liver it can really help us along
- 00:34:11especially you know if you've been
- 00:34:13drinking for a really long time and
- 00:34:15you're looking for a natural way to help
- 00:34:17heal your liver uh to maintain your
- 00:34:21liver Health uh coffee is a great tool
- 00:34:25to add to our Arsenal I just can't say
- 00:34:28more about coffee once again though
- 00:34:30coffee is not for everybody if you have
- 00:34:33high blood pressure heart conditions
- 00:34:35things like that you know it's just one
- 00:34:36of those things talk to your doctor
- 00:34:38about it first and make sure that it's
- 00:34:40okay for you to drink it and you know
- 00:34:43check with your doctor and make sure
- 00:34:44that you know drinking two to four cups
- 00:34:46of coffee a day is okay for you um I've
- 00:34:49spoken to my doctor about coffee over
- 00:34:52and over again I've told him how much I
- 00:34:53like my coffee um and he doesn't have a
- 00:34:56problem with it at all
- 00:34:58uh you know I don't have high blood
- 00:34:59pressure I do have high portal blood
- 00:35:03pressure uh I have portal
- 00:35:05hypertension um and you know the thing
- 00:35:08is is that it's still not where they
- 00:35:09want it to be uh they would like my my
- 00:35:12portal hypertension to be a little bit
- 00:35:14lower um but it's not quite there yet
- 00:35:18and uh we'll just see what happens with
- 00:35:20that but my point is is that um you know
- 00:35:23check just check with your doctor make
- 00:35:24sure that it's okay for you to drink
- 00:35:25that much coffee but it can have really
- 00:35:28good results and um you know I can tell
- 00:35:31you guys uh you know when I when I first
- 00:35:34was
- 00:35:35hospitalized um my liver numbers were
- 00:35:37through the roof and then the second
- 00:35:39time I got hos hospitalized my liver
- 00:35:41numbers were through the roof and not
- 00:35:43just that I ended up with jaundice my I
- 00:35:45had dark urine uh my skin was turning
- 00:35:47orange my eyes were orange or yellow um
- 00:35:51you know I was getting all of it the AES
- 00:35:53and all that and uh my meld score was
- 00:35:56through the roof it was in the thir 30s
- 00:35:58and the last time that I had my mail
- 00:36:00score checked my mail was a seven now is
- 00:36:04it necessarily the coffee I don't know I
- 00:36:06don't know what it is that's brought my
- 00:36:08M uh score down um you know uh lifestyle
- 00:36:13all that kind of stuff and I plan on
- 00:36:14doing a video this week and talking
- 00:36:16about all the things that I have done
- 00:36:19personally uh that I think have improved
- 00:36:22my liver health and I'm just going to
- 00:36:23talk about my lifestyle the things I eat
- 00:36:26things I do on a daily basis you know
- 00:36:29and just make a whole video about the
- 00:36:31things that I've done that I think have
- 00:36:32helped improve my life and improve my
- 00:36:35health in general and especially improve
- 00:36:37my liver health and one of them is is
- 00:36:40coffee you know the great thing about
- 00:36:42coffee is not only is it great for us in
- 00:36:45general for our General Health but it's
- 00:36:47also great for our liver and the one
- 00:36:50thing that I can say about coffee and
- 00:36:52I'll tell you guys this it is a great
- 00:36:55supplement for alcohol
- 00:36:58um you know when you're you're thinking
- 00:37:00about having a drink make yourself a cup
- 00:37:03of coffee I'm telling you that hot
- 00:37:05beverage you're drinking it you're not
- 00:37:07going to drink it super fast you're
- 00:37:08going to sip on it and it just is a nice
- 00:37:12replacement for the booze and not just
- 00:37:14to mention that it's a nice replacement
- 00:37:16for the booze but you know we get these
- 00:37:18uh hand mouth uh addictions as well it's
- 00:37:21like smoking cigarettes you know we get
- 00:37:24that addiction of doing this all the
- 00:37:26time same thing with alcohol you get
- 00:37:28used to doing this taking that cup put
- 00:37:30it into your mouth or putting the bottle
- 00:37:32to your mouth every single time we need
- 00:37:33something to fill that Gap and uh having
- 00:37:36a cup of coffee you know you got that
- 00:37:38mug um you know you got to grab onto it
- 00:37:42pick it up take it to your mouth each
- 00:37:43time like I said you're taking sips of
- 00:37:45it especially if you got it piping hot I
- 00:37:47cannot drink cold coffee I'm not a cold
- 00:37:49coffee drinker I never have been it's
- 00:37:51just not I don't really care for it I
- 00:37:53will drink it but I like my coffee to be
- 00:37:56piping hot to the point where it will
- 00:37:59burn my mouth if I drink it too fast I
- 00:38:01like to sip on super hot coffee
- 00:38:04especially in the early morning when
- 00:38:06it's nice and cool outside this time of
- 00:38:09year and when we get to like winter time
- 00:38:10too oh man I will get my it'll come out
- 00:38:14of the coffee machine and then I take it
- 00:38:16and put it in the microwave so I always
- 00:38:17make my coffee in a microwave safe cup
- 00:38:20so I can put it in the microwave and
- 00:38:21then I'll heat it up for like another 45
- 00:38:23seconds to get it where it's like
- 00:38:24starting to boil almost and then I'll
- 00:38:27drink it because I want to sip on that
- 00:38:29hot beverage and uh you know you wake up
- 00:38:31in the morning your throat's a little
- 00:38:33dry you might have a little bit of a
- 00:38:34sore throat especially if you slept all
- 00:38:36night long with your mouth open you guys
- 00:38:38know what I'm talking about you drink
- 00:38:40that hot coffee in the morning man it
- 00:38:42just helps like open up your nasal
- 00:38:43passages it helps soothe your throat
- 00:38:46especially if your throat's a little bit
- 00:38:48sore um it just makes you feel better
- 00:38:51gives you a little bit of caffeine
- 00:38:52you're getting that energy and uh I
- 00:38:55don't know it's just such a great start
- 00:38:57to the the day and it's something to
- 00:38:58look forward to every day I look so
- 00:39:01forward to my coffee I'm not kidding you
- 00:39:03guys I promise you when I go to bed at
- 00:39:06night I can't wait to wake up in the
- 00:39:07morning so I can have my first cup of
- 00:39:09coffee in the morning like that's how
- 00:39:10much I enjoy it every sing We have a
- 00:39:13Ninja coffee machine is what I use and
- 00:39:15it takes the pods every night before I
- 00:39:18go to bed the first thing I do before I
- 00:39:20get in my bed is I go straight to my
- 00:39:22coffee machine I put a new pod in it
- 00:39:24make sure the water's full and I put a
- 00:39:26brand new clean coffee coffee cup
- 00:39:28underneath of there and all I have to do
- 00:39:30when I wake up in the morning is push
- 00:39:32down on that uh thing to activate the
- 00:39:35Pod and I hit start and it's ready to go
- 00:39:38and as soon as I wake up in the morning
- 00:39:40I'm not kidding you guys before I go pee
- 00:39:42or anything the first thing I do is I
- 00:39:44walk straight to my coffee machine hit
- 00:39:46the start button and then I go to the
- 00:39:48bathroom wash my face brush my teeth and
- 00:39:52by the time I'm done with that my coffee
- 00:39:53is already made I take that throw that
- 00:39:55in the microwave get it really hot and
- 00:39:58then I start my first cup of the coffee
- 00:39:59for the day and my mood from right that
- 00:40:02moment improves I'm happy I've got my
- 00:40:05coffee you know when I was in the
- 00:40:06hospital all those times too it's like
- 00:40:08that was all I looked forward to
- 00:40:10especially when I had to have surgery
- 00:40:12you know they won't let you eat or drink
- 00:40:13anything for 12 hours and then after I'd
- 00:40:15wake up that like was the first thing I
- 00:40:17would ask for is a nice hot cup of
- 00:40:20coffee and uh it just made everything
- 00:40:22especially after having an endoscopy
- 00:40:24done or an ercp you know cuz they're
- 00:40:26going down your throat with that scope
- 00:40:28and all that it can really irritate your
- 00:40:30throat so for any of you guys out there
- 00:40:32who are dealing with ercps or having to
- 00:40:34have an endoscopy done when you wake up
- 00:40:37from that ask for a nice hot cup of
- 00:40:39coffee I promise you it really does help
- 00:40:41to improve uh that soreness in your
- 00:40:44throat when you wake up because you will
- 00:40:46wake up with a sore throat especially
- 00:40:48they've been in there for a long time
- 00:40:49endoscopy can you know you can end up to
- 00:40:52sore throat from that but if they're
- 00:40:53doing an ercp there's times when they're
- 00:40:55in there for an hour 2 3 hours sometimes
- 00:40:57doing ercps and they're going in and out
- 00:41:00of your throat and pulling out those
- 00:41:02arms and all that kind of stuff it can
- 00:41:04really really irritate your throat I've
- 00:41:06had times where I've woken up and I
- 00:41:07could barely even speak because my
- 00:41:09throat hurts so bad from them being in
- 00:41:11there for so long I've always ask for
- 00:41:13hot coffee and it has helped me so much
- 00:41:16when I wake up from that sore throat
- 00:41:18after they've been in there so if you're
- 00:41:20dealing with the ercp ask for a nice hot
- 00:41:22cup of coffee uh I I really do think it
- 00:41:25helps dramatically and then on top of it
- 00:41:28it's helping us with our uh you know our
- 00:41:30pancreas health and our Liver Health at
- 00:41:32that too I mean it just said right there
- 00:41:34that you know it helps with the beta
- 00:41:36cells and our pancreas and helps you
- 00:41:38know protect our pancreas so that we can
- 00:41:40produce insulin and there's another
- 00:41:41thing too you do not want to end up with
- 00:41:43diabetes I think diabetes is one of the
- 00:41:46worst things that you can end up with
- 00:41:47it's just horrible you f you're
- 00:41:50constantly fighting your blood sugar
- 00:41:52it's too high it's too low and it makes
- 00:41:54you feel horrible it I I'll do a video
- 00:41:57on it one day and just talk about
- 00:41:59diabetes but anyway guys we are at 42
- 00:42:03minutes right now I have been just
- 00:42:05talking and talking and talking I did
- 00:42:07not realize I've gone this long so I'm
- 00:42:09going to go ahead and get off here for
- 00:42:11today but uh I hope you guys enjoyed
- 00:42:13today's video and uh I definitely think
- 00:42:16coffee once again is a great tool to add
- 00:42:18to our Arsenal to help with our Liver
- 00:42:20Health and it's natural um you know one
- 00:42:23thing you do need to look for is uh
- 00:42:25organic coffee
- 00:42:27I know it's rather expensive but the one
- 00:42:30thing about coffee is coffee is like one
- 00:42:32of the worst uh sprayed uh you know
- 00:42:36things that we consume uh they spray
- 00:42:39coffee beans with all kinds of
- 00:42:42pesticides and all kinds of chemicals
- 00:42:45you really want to make sure that you're
- 00:42:46doing your due diligence do your
- 00:42:48research and make sure that you're
- 00:42:49getting a good organic coffee that's not
- 00:42:51full of pesticides and chemicals or GMO
- 00:42:55or whatever because we really want to
- 00:42:56make sure that we're not bringing a
- 00:42:58bunch of that stuff into our body
- 00:43:00because when we do it's getting P to our
- 00:43:02liver and if we've got liver damaged
- 00:43:04last thing we want to be doing is adding
- 00:43:05extra stress to it uh by drinking
- 00:43:08something that's just full of you know
- 00:43:11pesticides those things are horrible for
- 00:43:13our liver uh they're horrible for ours
- 00:43:15in general so just like I said do your
- 00:43:17due diligence I know it's more expensive
- 00:43:20but at the end of the day it's your
- 00:43:21health it's your
- 00:43:24liver and if you're going to be drinking
- 00:43:26a a half dmount amount of it you know
- 00:43:28just look for those types of things and
- 00:43:29if you're using like the little coffee
- 00:43:31pods those things are super expensive
- 00:43:33they sell if you go on Amazon uh they
- 00:43:35sell these little cups that uh you can
- 00:43:38fill up with your coffee grinds I know
- 00:43:41that using the pods is easy and it makes
- 00:43:43life a lot
- 00:43:44easier but you can buy those those metal
- 00:43:48pods that are refillable and you can
- 00:43:50just close the lid and just pop it in
- 00:43:52your machine and there you go uh and
- 00:43:55they're super cheap they're like eight
- 00:43:56bucks for like 10 of them and they last
- 00:43:59forever I've got a whole slew of them in
- 00:44:01the house they're made out of stainless
- 00:44:03steel and uh you know you can go Ahad
- 00:44:05and fill a couple of them up and put
- 00:44:06them in a resalable bag and you're done
- 00:44:09and you know like I said you know all
- 00:44:11you got to do is toss it right in your
- 00:44:12machine close it it works just like a
- 00:44:14regular pod does and that way you can
- 00:44:15buy a nice big bag of like a really good
- 00:44:18clean organic coffee and then you can
- 00:44:21you know make your own pods and uh use
- 00:44:24those throughout the day because I I do
- 00:44:25know they are super convenient to have
- 00:44:28the pods I like using them myself but I
- 00:44:31use the refillable ones because it just
- 00:44:33makes more economic sense for me and you
- 00:44:35can get way more variety of coffee not
- 00:44:38all coffees are put in those pods and I
- 00:44:41I I myself I think that the the coffee
- 00:44:45in the pods does not taste as good as
- 00:44:47the loose coffee especially if you grind
- 00:44:49your own you can get yourself a coffee
- 00:44:51grinder on Amazon for like
- 00:44:53$19 uh one of the best investments I
- 00:44:56ever made
- 00:44:57grinding up your own coffee fresh beans
- 00:45:00and then you know put putting those
- 00:45:02fresh ground coffee grinds in the little
- 00:45:04cup and then make your own Cofe it's
- 00:45:06night and day it's just like you know
- 00:45:08there's tons of methods of making coffee
- 00:45:10the one thing I will say is that um you
- 00:45:13know you want to be careful like using a
- 00:45:15French press uh when you use a French
- 00:45:17press there's a lot of stuff that like
- 00:45:20some bad stuff I can't remember exactly
- 00:45:22what it is but there's some stuff in the
- 00:45:24coffee that when you run it through a
- 00:45:25paper filter that gets uh that comes out
- 00:45:28of the coffee I know that if you're
- 00:45:30using a French press it can't those
- 00:45:32those chemicals or whatever that are
- 00:45:34left over can raise your cholesterol uh
- 00:45:37so you probably want to stay away from
- 00:45:39using a French press I used a French
- 00:45:41press for years I enjoy the taste of
- 00:45:43coffee that's been made in a French
- 00:45:45press a little bit better um but once
- 00:45:47again it will raise your cholesterol if
- 00:45:49using a French press so you're better
- 00:45:51off using something those little cups
- 00:45:53they have a little paper filter in them
- 00:45:56um or just use a coffee machine and you
- 00:45:59know use a paper filter but just do your
- 00:46:00research on it I'm I'm so out of time
- 00:46:03right now I'm at like 50 minutes and I
- 00:46:04need to stop talking about this there's
- 00:46:06so many things I could talk about with
- 00:46:08coffee but uh once again just just do
- 00:46:10your homework and look at it but like I
- 00:46:12said using a French press will raise
- 00:46:13your uh cholesterol levels um I was
- 00:46:16trying to talk my father into getting a
- 00:46:18French press years ago cuz I got one and
- 00:46:20enjoyed it so much and uh my dad has
- 00:46:23cholesterol problems and um I did some
- 00:46:26research on it before he went and bought
- 00:46:29one for himself and I told him I said
- 00:46:31you you don't need to do this cuz it it
- 00:46:32will raise your cholesterol um my dad
- 00:46:35has to get those shots like four times a
- 00:46:37year or something they're very expensive
- 00:46:40my dad's had some serious cholesterol
- 00:46:42problems for a long time so he couldn't
- 00:46:44use the French Press but once again I'm
- 00:46:46at like 50 minutes right now so I got to
- 00:46:49go um but I can talk more about this in
- 00:46:51another video at some point I'll do I'll
- 00:46:53do another video um a little bit later
- 00:46:56down the road with a little bit more
- 00:46:57detail because once again there is so
- 00:46:59much to talk about coffee um there is so
- 00:47:02much more I just really wanted to touch
- 00:47:04on you know some of the main highlights
- 00:47:07but I can make another video and dig
- 00:47:08deeper into some more stuff that I found
- 00:47:11but once again I ran out of time um once
- 00:47:14again I hope you guys enjoyed today's
- 00:47:15video thank you so much for watching and
- 00:47:18uh I will see each and every single one
- 00:47:20of you tomorrow um love you guys so much
