- 00:00:00and we're going to be signing a very
- 00:00:02important uh deal today it's Doge and
- 00:00:06I'm going to ask Elon to tell you a
- 00:00:08little bit about it and some of the
- 00:00:10things that we found which is shocking
- 00:00:13billions and billions of dollars in
- 00:00:15waste Fraud and Abuse and uh I think
- 00:00:19it's very important and that's one of
- 00:00:20the reasons I got elected I said we're
- 00:00:22going to do that nobody had any idea was
- 00:00:25that bad that sick and that corrupt and
- 00:00:27it seems hard to believe that judges to
- 00:00:30try and stop us from looking for
- 00:00:31corruption especially when we found
- 00:00:34hundreds of millions of dollars worth
- 00:00:36much more than that in just a short
- 00:00:38period of time we want to weed out the
- 00:00:40corruption and it seems hard to believe
- 00:00:43that a judge could say uh we don't want
- 00:00:44you to do that well so maybe we have to
- 00:00:48look at the judges because that's a very
- 00:00:50serious I think it's a very serious
- 00:00:52violation uh I'll ask Elon Musk to say a
- 00:00:57few words and uh we'll take some
- 00:00:59questions El go ahead uh sure so the uh
- 00:01:05at at a high level if you say what is
- 00:01:07the goal of do or or and and I think a
- 00:01:10significant part of this presidency is
- 00:01:12to
- 00:01:13restore uh democracy this may seem seem
- 00:01:17like well aren't we in a democracy well
- 00:01:18if you don't have a feedback okay we
- 00:01:21would have to if you if
- 00:01:22you
- 00:01:24sorry tell you gravitas can be difficult
- 00:01:27sometimes um so uh if if if there's not
- 00:01:32a good feedback loop from the people to
- 00:01:35to the government and if if you have
- 00:01:37rule of the the bureaucrat if the
- 00:01:39bureaucracy is in charge and then then
- 00:01:42what meaning does democracy actually
- 00:01:44have if the people cannot vote and have
- 00:01:47their will be decided by their elected
- 00:01:49representatives in the in the form of
- 00:01:51the president and and the Senate and the
- 00:01:53house then we don't live in a democracy
- 00:01:56we live in a
- 00:01:57bureaucracy so it's incredibly important
- 00:01:59that we close that feedback loop we fix
- 00:02:01that feedback loop and that the public
- 00:02:04uh the Public's elected representatives
- 00:02:06the president the house and the Senate
- 00:02:08decide what happens as opposed to a
- 00:02:10large unelected bureaucracy this is not
- 00:02:14to say that there aren't some good there
- 00:02:15are good people who who uh are in the
- 00:02:18federal bureaucracy but but you can't
- 00:02:20have an autonomous Federal bureaucracy
- 00:02:23you have to have one that is responsive
- 00:02:24to the people that's the whole point of
- 00:02:27a
- 00:02:28democracy um and so
- 00:02:30um and if if you looked at the if you
- 00:02:32asked looked at the founders today and
- 00:02:34said what do you think of the way things
- 00:02:36have turned out well what we have this
- 00:02:39unelected uh fourth unconstitutional
- 00:02:41branch of of government which which is
- 00:02:43the bureaucracy which has in a lot of
- 00:02:45ways currently more power than any
- 00:02:47elected
- 00:02:48representative and this is uh this is
- 00:02:51not something that people want um and
- 00:02:54it's it's not it does not match the will
- 00:02:56of the people so it's just something
- 00:02:58we've got to we've got to fix and then
- 00:03:00we also got to address the the deficit
- 00:03:01so we've got a $2 trillion deficit and
- 00:03:05if this if we don't do something about
- 00:03:06this deficit country is going bankrupt I
- 00:03:09mean it's it's really astounding that
- 00:03:12the uh the interest payments alone on
- 00:03:15the national debt exceed the defense
- 00:03:17department budget which is shocking
- 00:03:20because we got a lot we spend a lot of
- 00:03:21money on defense but and and if that
- 00:03:24just keeps going we're essentially going
- 00:03:26to bankrupt the country so what what I
- 00:03:28really want to say is like it's not
- 00:03:29option for us to sit to reduce the
- 00:03:32federal expenses it's essential it's
- 00:03:34essential for America to remain solvent
- 00:03:37as a country and it's essential for
- 00:03:39America to have the resources necessary
- 00:03:41to provide things to its citizens and
- 00:03:43not simply be servicing vast amounts of
- 00:03:46debt and also could you mention some of
- 00:03:48the things that your team has found some
- 00:03:51of the crazy numbers including the woman
- 00:03:54that walked away with about 30 million
- 00:03:57right Etc well we we we are we do find
- 00:03:59it sort of rather odd that um you know
- 00:04:02there there are quite a few uh people in
- 00:04:05in um in the bureaucracy who who have a
- 00:04:09ostensibly a salary of a few hundred,
- 00:04:11but somehow managed to acrw tens of
- 00:04:13millions of dollars in net worth uh
- 00:04:15while they are in that position which is
- 00:04:18you know what what happened at usaid
- 00:04:20we're just curious as to where it came
- 00:04:21from um maybe they're very good at
- 00:04:23investing they which case we should take
- 00:04:25their investment advice perhaps um but
- 00:04:28uh just this it seems to be mysteriously
- 00:04:30they they get wealthy we don't why where
- 00:04:33does it come from um and uh I think the
- 00:04:36reality is that they're getting wealthy
- 00:04:38at tax bear expense that's that's the
- 00:04:40that's the honest truth of it so uh you
- 00:04:43know we're looking at um say uh well we
- 00:04:47just if you look at say say treasury for
- 00:04:50example um basic controls that should be
- 00:04:53in place uh that are in place in in any
- 00:04:55company uh such as making sure that any
- 00:04:58given payment has a payment cap
- 00:04:59categorization code that there is a
- 00:05:01comment field that describes the payment
- 00:05:04um and that if it if a payment is on the
- 00:05:06do not pay list that you don't actually
- 00:05:08pay it none of those things are true
- 00:05:10currently so the reason that departments
- 00:05:13can't pass ords is because the payments
- 00:05:15don't have a categorization code it's
- 00:05:17like just a massive number of blank
- 00:05:19checks just flying out the building so
- 00:05:21you can't reconcile blank checks um
- 00:05:23you've got comment fields that are also
- 00:05:25blanks you don't know why the payment
- 00:05:26was made um and then we've got this a
- 00:05:29truly abs a do not pay list which can
- 00:05:31take up to a year for an organization to
- 00:05:34get on a do not pay list um and and this
- 00:05:37we're talking about terrorist
- 00:05:38organizations we're talking about uh
- 00:05:40known fraudsters known aspects of waste
- 00:05:43known things that do not match any
- 00:05:45Congressional appropriation can take up
- 00:05:47to a year to get on the list and even
- 00:05:49once on the list the list is not
- 00:05:51used it's
- 00:05:53mindblowing so so what we're talking
- 00:05:56here we're really just talking about
- 00:05:58adding common sense controls that should
- 00:06:01be present uh that that haven't been
- 00:06:04present so you say like well how could
- 00:06:06such a thing arise that's that seems
- 00:06:08that seems crazy that when you
- 00:06:10understand that that really everything
- 00:06:11is geared towards complaint
- 00:06:14minimization so that that then you
- 00:06:16understand the motivations so if people
- 00:06:18receive money they don't complain
- 00:06:20obviously um but if people don't receive
- 00:06:23money they do complain and and the
- 00:06:26frauds does complain the loudest and the
- 00:06:28fastest so
- 00:06:30uh then when you understand that then
- 00:06:32then it makes sense oh that's why
- 00:06:34everything just they approve all the
- 00:06:36payments at treasury because if you
- 00:06:39approve all the payments you don't you
- 00:06:40don't get
- 00:06:42complaints but now now we're saying no
- 00:06:44actually we we all going to complain if
- 00:06:46if money is spent badly if the if your
- 00:06:48taxpayer dollars are not spent in a
- 00:06:50sensible and pral manner then that's not
- 00:06:53okay your your tax dollars need to be
- 00:06:55spent wisely on things that matter to
- 00:06:58the people
- 00:07:00I mean these things like it's just
- 00:07:02common sense it's
- 00:07:03not it's it's not Draconian or radical I
- 00:07:07think it's it's really just saying let's
- 00:07:09look at each each of these expeditures
- 00:07:10and say is this actually in the best
- 00:07:12interest of the people and if it is it's
- 00:07:14proved if if it's not we should think
- 00:07:16about
- 00:07:17it so um you know there's crazy things
- 00:07:21like just Cur re examination of Social
- 00:07:24Security and we've got people in there
- 00:07:25that are 150 years old now do you know
- 00:07:29anyone 150 I don't okay um they should
- 00:07:32be on the Guinness bookal World Records
- 00:07:34they're missing out um so you know
- 00:07:38that's a case where like I think they're
- 00:07:39probably dead it's my guess or or they
- 00:07:42should be very famous one of the two um
- 00:07:45and then that a whole bunch of Social
- 00:07:47Security payments where there's no
- 00:07:48identifi identifying information well
- 00:07:50like why is there no identifying
- 00:07:52information um obviously you want to
- 00:07:54make we want to make sure that people
- 00:07:55who deserve uh to receive Social
- 00:07:57Security do receive it um and that they
- 00:08:00receive it quickly and accurately um I
- 00:08:03tell another crazy thing so you know one
- 00:08:06of the things is like we are trying to
- 00:08:07sort of rightsize the the federal
- 00:08:09bureaucracy just make sure that this
- 00:08:11obviously need there need to be a lot of
- 00:08:12people working for the federal
- 00:08:13government but not as many as currently
- 00:08:15so we're saying well okay well let's if
- 00:08:17if people can retire you know with full
- 00:08:20benef benefits and everything that that
- 00:08:21would be good they can retire get their
- 00:08:23retirement payments everything and then
- 00:08:25we were told this is actually I think a
- 00:08:26great anecdote uh because we're told no
- 00:08:28the the most number of people that could
- 00:08:30retire possibly in a month is 10,000
- 00:08:32we're like well why why why is that well
- 00:08:35because all the all the retirement
- 00:08:38paperwork is manual on paper it's
- 00:08:41manually calculated then written down on
- 00:08:42a piece of paper then it goes down a
- 00:08:45mine I'm like what do you mean a mine
- 00:08:47like yeah there's a limestone mine where
- 00:08:49we store all the retirement paperwork
- 00:08:53that look and you look a picture at a
- 00:08:54picture of this mine we'll post some
- 00:08:55pictures afterwards um and this this
- 00:08:57mine looks like something out of the 50s
- 00:08:59because it was started in
- 00:09:011955 so it looks like it's like a Time
- 00:09:04Warp and then the speed then the
- 00:09:07limiting factor is the speed at which
- 00:09:08the mine shaft elevator can move
- 00:09:11determines how many people can retire
- 00:09:13from the federal federal
- 00:09:15government and the elevator breaks down
- 00:09:17and then sometimes and then you can't
- 00:09:19nobody can
- 00:09:21retire doesn't that sound crazy there's
- 00:09:24like a thousand people that work on this
- 00:09:25so I think if we can take those people
- 00:09:27and say like you know what instead of
- 00:09:29working in a m shaft and uh carrying
- 00:09:32manilla envelopes to you know boxes in a
- 00:09:35m shaft you could do practically
- 00:09:37anything else and you you would add to
- 00:09:40the the goods and services of the United
- 00:09:42States um in a more useful
- 00:09:45way
- 00:09:46so anyway so I think you know that's an
- 00:09:49example at like at a high level if you
- 00:09:51say like how do we increase Prosperity
- 00:09:52is we get people to do to to to shift
- 00:09:54from roles that are low to negative
- 00:09:57productivity to high productivity roles
- 00:10:00and so you increase the total output of
- 00:10:01goods and services which means that
- 00:10:03there's a higher standard of living
- 00:10:04available for
- 00:10:06everyone that's that's the actual
- 00:10:09goal everyone's very quiet by the
- 00:10:12way
- 00:10:14quiet your detractors Mr musk I what
- 00:10:17including a lot of Democrats I have
- 00:10:19detractors you do sir I don't believe it
- 00:10:21say that you're orchestrating a hostile
- 00:10:24takeover of government and doing it in a
- 00:10:26non-transparent way what's your respons
- 00:10:29to that criticism well first of all uh
- 00:10:33you couldn't ask for a stronger mandate
- 00:10:35from from the public uh the public voted
- 00:10:39uh you we to have a majority of the
- 00:10:41public vote voting for president Trump
- 00:10:44uh we won the house who won the Senate
- 00:10:48um the people voted for major government
- 00:10:52reform there should be no doubt about
- 00:10:54that that was on the campaign the
- 00:10:57president spoke about that at every
- 00:10:58rally the people voted for for major
- 00:11:00government reform and that's what people
- 00:11:02are going to get they're going to get
- 00:11:03what they voted for and and a lot of
- 00:11:06times that you know people that don't
- 00:11:08get what they voted for but in this
- 00:11:09presidency they are going to get what
- 00:11:11they voted for and that's what democracy
- 00:11:13is all
- 00:11:15about Mr musk the White House says that
- 00:11:17you will identify and excuse yourself
- 00:11:19from any conflicts of interests that you
- 00:11:21may have does that mean that you are in
- 00:11:23effect policing yourself what are the
- 00:11:26checks and balances that are in place to
- 00:11:27ensure that there's accountability and
- 00:11:29transparency no well we actually are
- 00:11:32trying to be as transparent as possible
- 00:11:34in fact our actions WE Post our actions
- 00:11:36to the the Doge handle uh on X um and to
- 00:11:40the Doge website so all of our actions
- 00:11:42we are are maximally transparent in fact
- 00:11:45I don't think there's been I I don't
- 00:11:47know of a case where where an
- 00:11:49organization has been more transparent
- 00:11:50than the Doge organization um and and so
- 00:11:54you know and the kind of things we're
- 00:11:56doing are I think very very simple and
- 00:11:58basic they're not we're you know what I
- 00:12:00mentioned for for example about treasury
- 00:12:02just making sure that that payments that
- 00:12:05go out taxpayer money that goes out is C
- 00:12:07categorized correctly that the that the
- 00:12:09the payment is explained that
- 00:12:11organizations on the do not pay list
- 00:12:13which are takes a lot to get there that
- 00:12:15actually are not paid which currently
- 00:12:17they are paid these These are these are
- 00:12:19not individual judgment decisions these
- 00:12:22are about Simply Having sensible checks
- 00:12:24and balances in the system itself to
- 00:12:26ensure that taxpayer money is spent well
- 00:12:28so it's got nothing to do with like say
- 00:12:29a contract for some company of fine at
- 00:12:31all but if there is a conflict of
- 00:12:33interest when it comes to you yourself
- 00:12:35for instance you've received billions of
- 00:12:37dollars and federal contracts when it
- 00:12:39comes to the Pentagon for instance uh
- 00:12:41which the president I know has directed
- 00:12:42you to look into are you policing
- 00:12:44yourself in that is there any sort of
- 00:12:47accountability check and balance in
- 00:12:48place that would provide any
- 00:12:50transparency for the American people
- 00:12:52well all of our actions are are fully
- 00:12:55public so if you see anything you say
- 00:12:57like wait a second hey you that doesn't
- 00:12:59seems like maybe that's you know there's
- 00:13:01a conflict there I it's s like people
- 00:13:04are going to be shy about saying that
- 00:13:05they'll say it immediately you know
- 00:13:06incling you yourself yes but it's it
- 00:13:10transparency is what builds trust not
- 00:13:12simply somebody asserting trust so not
- 00:13:15somebody saying they're trustworthy but
- 00:13:17transparency so you can see everything
- 00:13:18that's going on and then you can see am
- 00:13:20I doing something that benefits one of
- 00:13:21my companies or not it's totally obvious
- 00:13:242 1 on the latest edition of theber
- 00:13:26business podcast conversation with Max
- 00:13:31musk offer
- 00:13:34to that we watch that also he a big
- 00:13:38businessman he's a successful guy that's
- 00:13:39why we want him doing this we don't want
- 00:13:41a an unsuccessful guy doing this now one
- 00:13:45thing also that uh Elon hasn't really
- 00:13:48mentioned are the groups of people that
- 00:13:50are getting some of these payments
- 00:13:52they're ridiculous and we're talking
- 00:13:54about billions of dollars that we've
- 00:13:55already found we found fraud and abuse
- 00:14:00uh I would say those two words as
- 00:14:01opposed to the third word that I usually
- 00:14:03use but in this case Fraud and Abuse
- 00:14:07it's abusive because most of these
- 00:14:10things are virtually made up or
- 00:14:12certainly money shouldn't be sent to
- 00:14:14them and you know what I'm talking about
- 00:14:15it's crazy so uh but we're talking about
- 00:14:20uh tens of billions of dollars that
- 00:14:22we've already found and now a judge
- 00:14:24who's an activist judge uh wants to try
- 00:14:28and stop us from doing this why why
- 00:14:31would they want to do that I campaigned
- 00:14:32on this I campaigned on the fact that I
- 00:14:34said government is corrupt and it is
- 00:14:36very corrupt it's very very uh it's also
- 00:14:40foolish as an example a man has a
- 00:14:43contract for three months and the
- 00:14:46contract ends but they keep paying them
- 00:14:47for the next 20 years you know because
- 00:14:49nobody ends a contract you got a lot of
- 00:14:50that you have a contract that's three a
- 00:14:53three-month contract now normally if
- 00:14:56you're in a small it's in in all
- 00:14:57fairness it's the size of this thing is
- 00:15:00so big yeah but if you have have a
- 00:15:02contract and you're in a regular
- 00:15:04business you end the contract in three
- 00:15:05months you know it's a
- 00:15:07consultant here's a contract for three
- 00:15:09months but it goes on for 20
- 00:15:11years and the guy doesn't say that he
- 00:15:13got money for 20 years you know they
- 00:15:15don't say it they just keep getting
- 00:15:16checks month after month and you have
- 00:15:19various things like that and even much
- 00:15:21worse than that actually much worse and
- 00:15:23I guess you call that incompetence maybe
- 00:15:26it could be corruption it could be a
- 00:15:27deals made on both sides know where you
- 00:15:30got to get some money he kicks I think
- 00:15:32he has a lot of Kickback here I see a
- 00:15:34lot of Kickback here there's a lot of
- 00:15:35Kickbacks a tremendous Kickback because
- 00:15:37nobody could be so stupid to give out
- 00:15:38some of these contracts so he has to get
- 00:15:40a kickback so uh that's what I got
- 00:15:44elected for that and borders and
- 00:15:47Military and a lot of things but this is
- 00:15:49a big part of it and I hope that the
- 00:15:52court system is going to allow us to do
- 00:15:54what we have to do we got elected to to
- 00:15:57among other things f all of this fraud
- 00:16:00abuse all of this this horrible stuff
- 00:16:02going on and we've already found
- 00:16:05billions of dollars not like a little
- 00:16:07bit billions many billions of
- 00:16:10dollars and when you get down to it it's
- 00:16:13going to be probably close to a trillion
- 00:16:15dollars it could be close to a trillion
- 00:16:17dollars that we're going to find that
- 00:16:19will have quite an impact on the budget
- 00:16:22uh and and you'll go to a judge where
- 00:16:25they handpick a judge and he has certain
- 00:16:27leanings I'm not knocking anybody for
- 00:16:30that but he has certain leanings and he
- 00:16:32wants us to stop
- 00:16:33looking how do you stop looking I mean
- 00:16:36we've already found it we have a case in
- 00:16:38New York where a hotel has paid $59
- 00:16:41million 59 million because of because
- 00:16:44it's housing migrants illegal migrants
- 00:16:48all illegal I believe and and they were
- 00:16:50being paid twice the normal room rate at
- 00:16:52100% occupany unbelievable so it's AET I
- 00:16:55ask a question you if I may sort of just
- 00:16:58um going for the president's comments U
- 00:17:01at at a at a high level say well what
- 00:17:04how exact how
- 00:17:06do what what are the two ingredients
- 00:17:08that are really necessary in order to
- 00:17:10cut the budget deficit in half from 2
- 00:17:12trillion to 1 trillion and it's really
- 00:17:14two things competence and caring and if
- 00:17:19you add competence and caring you'll cut
- 00:17:21the budget deficit in half and and and I
- 00:17:25fully expect to be scrutinized and get
- 00:17:27you know a daily proctology exam
- 00:17:29basically um my so just camp out there
- 00:17:31um so it's not like I think I can get
- 00:17:34away with something I'll be scrutinized
- 00:17:36non-stop um and uh but with support of
- 00:17:39the president we can we can cut the
- 00:17:40budget deficit in half from 2 trillion
- 00:17:42to one um and then with uh deregulation
- 00:17:46because there's a lot of sort of uh
- 00:17:48regulations that don't ultimately serve
- 00:17:50the public good um we need to free free
- 00:17:52the buers of America to build and if we
- 00:17:56do that that means I think we can get
- 00:17:57the economic growth to be maybe 3 4%
- 00:18:00maybe 5% um and that means if you can
- 00:18:03get a trillion dollars of economic
- 00:18:04growth and you cut the the budget
- 00:18:05deficit by a
- 00:18:07trillion between now and next year there
- 00:18:10is no inflation there's no inflation in
- 00:18:1326 and if the government is not
- 00:18:15borrowing as much it means that interest
- 00:18:17costs decline so everyone's the mortgage
- 00:18:20their car payment their credit card
- 00:18:22bills any their student debt the the
- 00:18:24monthly payments
- 00:18:26drop that's a fantastic
- 00:18:29scenario for the average
- 00:18:31American I mean imagine they're going
- 00:18:34down the grocery AIS and the prices from
- 00:18:37one year to the next are the
- 00:18:39same and they're and they're they you
- 00:18:42their mortgage all their debt payments
- 00:18:45dropped how great is that for the
- 00:18:47average
- 00:18:48American we had no idea we had no idea
- 00:18:51we were going to find this much and it's
- 00:18:53open it's it's not like complicated it's
- 00:18:56simple compated a lot of work we can't
- 00:18:59believe it a lot of work a lot of smart
- 00:19:01people involved very very smart people
- 00:19:03but uh it's you're talking
- 00:19:05about anywhere maybe 500 billion it's
- 00:19:09crazy the kind of numbers you're talking
- 00:19:11about you know normally when you're
- 00:19:13looking at something you'll find you're
- 00:19:14looking for one out of a 100 here you're
- 00:19:17almost reversing it you look for one
- 00:19:19that's good yeah and you can look at the
- 00:19:21title and you say why are we doing this
- 00:19:24why are we doing that and the public
- 00:19:25gets it you know the public gets it
- 00:19:27you've seen the polls the public is
- 00:19:29saying why are we paying all this money
- 00:19:30this for years this has gone
- 00:19:34on yeah go ahead wait go ahead uh
- 00:19:37Senator Rand Paul today said that Doge
- 00:19:38Cuts will ultimately need a vote in
- 00:19:40Congress do you agree with that is that
- 00:19:42the plan I really don't know I I know
- 00:19:44this we're finding tremendous fraud and
- 00:19:47tremendous abuse if I need a vote of
- 00:19:49Congress to find Fraud and Abuse it be
- 00:19:52it's find with me I think we'll get the
- 00:19:53vote although there'll be some people
- 00:19:55that wouldn't vote and how could a judge
- 00:19:58want to hold us back from finding all of
- 00:20:00this fraud and finding all of this
- 00:20:03incompetence why would that happen why
- 00:20:05would even Congress want to do that now
- 00:20:07Congress if if we do need a vote I think
- 00:20:09we'd get a very easy vote because we
- 00:20:11have a track record now we've already
- 00:20:13found billions of dollars of abuse
- 00:20:17incompetence and Corruption a lot of
- 00:20:19corruption if a judge does block one of
- 00:20:22your policies part of your agenda will
- 00:20:24you abide by that ruling will you comp I
- 00:20:26always abide by the courts and then I'll
- 00:20:28have to feel it but then what he's done
- 00:20:30is he slowed down the momentum and it
- 00:20:32gives crooked people more time to cover
- 00:20:35up the books you know if a person's
- 00:20:37crooked and they get caught other people
- 00:20:40see that and all of a sudden it becomes
- 00:20:42hotter later on so yeah the answer is I
- 00:20:45always abide by the courts always abide
- 00:20:48by him and will appeal but appeals take
- 00:20:51a long time and I would hope that a
- 00:20:53judge if you go into a judge and you
- 00:20:55show him here's a corrupt situation we
- 00:20:58have a check to be sent but we found it
- 00:21:01to be corrupt do you want us to send
- 00:21:03this corrupt check to a person or do you
- 00:21:05want us not to give it and give it back
- 00:21:07to the taxpayer I would hope a judge
- 00:21:09would say don't send it give it back to
- 00:21:11the taxpayer yeah if I can add to that
- 00:21:14what we're finding is that a bunch of
- 00:21:15the fraud is not even going to Americans
- 00:21:17so I think we can all agree that if
- 00:21:19there's going to be fraud it should at
- 00:21:20least go to Americans uh but a bunch of
- 00:21:23the fraud rings that are operating in
- 00:21:24the United States and taking advantage
- 00:21:25of the federal government especially in
- 00:21:27the entitlements programs are actually
- 00:21:29foreign for rinks they're operating in
- 00:21:30other countries and actually exporting
- 00:21:32money to other
- 00:21:33countries we should stop that Mr and
- 00:21:37this is big big numbers talk about1 to
- 00:21:39$200 billion a year sure serious money U
- 00:21:42Mr musk you said on X that an example of
- 00:21:45the fraud uh that you have cited was $50
- 00:21:49million of condoms was sent to Gaza but
- 00:21:52after fact check this it apparently Gaza
- 00:21:56in mosm Beek and the program was to
- 00:21:58protect them against HIV so can you
- 00:22:01correct this statement it wasn't sent to
- 00:22:03Hamas actually it was sent to mozambik
- 00:22:05which makes sense why condoms was send
- 00:22:07there and how can make we make sure that
- 00:22:09all the statements that you said were uh
- 00:22:12correct so we can trust what you say
- 00:22:13well first of all uh some of the things
- 00:22:15that I say will be incorrect and and
- 00:22:17should be corrected so nobody's going to
- 00:22:20bat a thousand I mean any you know we
- 00:22:22will make mistakes but we'll act quickly
- 00:22:24to correct any mistakes um so uh you
- 00:22:28know if if the I'm not sure we should be
- 00:22:30sending $50 million with the condoms to
- 00:22:31anywhere uh frankly I'm not sure that's
- 00:22:34something Americans would be really
- 00:22:35excited about um and that that is really
- 00:22:37an enormous number of condoms you think
- 00:22:39about it um but uh you know if it if it
- 00:22:42went to MOS Beque instead of Gaza I'm
- 00:22:43like okay that's not as bad but still uh
- 00:22:46you know why are we doing that thanks
- 00:22:48much can you talk a little bit about how
- 00:22:50closely you're working with agency heads
- 00:22:52as you're directing these Cuts do they
- 00:22:55have the how much input do agency have
- 00:22:58have when you're making these decisions
- 00:23:00uh yeah we work closely with the agency
- 00:23:02heads um and um yeah so so there there
- 00:23:06is there are sort of checks in place so
- 00:23:08it's not us just going in and doing
- 00:23:10things willy-nilly it's it's in uh uh
- 00:23:13partnership with the agency heads and uh
- 00:23:15and I checked prevently with the
- 00:23:16president to make sure that you know the
- 00:23:18this this is what the president wants to
- 00:23:19have happen so um you know we talk
- 00:23:22almost every day and I I you know I I
- 00:23:25double check things to make sure is this
- 00:23:27something Mr President you want us to do
- 00:23:29this we'll we'll then we'll do it USA
- 00:23:31USA ID has been one of your main targets
- 00:23:34are you concerned at all that some of
- 00:23:36the cuts or that shutting that agency
- 00:23:38alt together may lead to diseases or
- 00:23:41other bigger problems starting in other
- 00:23:43countries that then come to to the
- 00:23:44United States yeah so that's that's an
- 00:23:47interesting example so that's something
- 00:23:48where we work closely with the state
- 00:23:49department uh and secretary ruio um and
- 00:23:53we have for example uh turned on funding
- 00:23:55for Ebola prevention uh and for HIV PR
- 00:23:58prevention left that you said yes
- 00:24:00correct um and and and we are we are
- 00:24:03moving fast so we will make mistakes but
- 00:24:05we'll also fix the mistakes very quickly
- 00:24:08so you see as a worthy cause
- 00:24:10usaid I I think that there's some worthy
- 00:24:13things but but overall if you say what
- 00:24:15was the bank for the buck I would say
- 00:24:16it's it was not very good um and there
- 00:24:19was far too much of what US idea was
- 00:24:22doing was influencing influencing
- 00:24:25elections in ways that I think were
- 00:24:27dubious and do not stand at the light of
- 00:24:29day I just have to follow up to the the
- 00:24:32Pentagon contracts if you had received
- 00:24:34billions of dollars in contracts from
- 00:24:36the Pentagon and the president's
- 00:24:38directing you to look into the
- 00:24:39Department of Defense is that are going
- 00:24:42to do at the president's request does
- 00:24:43that present a conflict of interest for
- 00:24:45you uh no because you'd have to look at
- 00:24:47the individual contract and say first of
- 00:24:48all I'm not the one you know filing the
- 00:24:51contract it's people at SpaceX or
- 00:24:53something will be putting for the
- 00:24:54contract and I'd like to say if if you
- 00:24:56see any contract where the the where it
- 00:24:59was awarded to SpaceX and it wasn't by
- 00:25:01far the best value for money for the
- 00:25:02taxpayer let me know because every one
- 00:25:04of them was the president said the other
- 00:25:07day that you might look at treasuries
- 00:25:10could you explain that a little bit what
- 00:25:11kind of fraud or and that question goes
- 00:25:14to both of you what kind of fraud are
- 00:25:16you expecting to see or do you see right
- 00:25:18now in US treasuries yeah I I think you
- 00:25:21mean the treasury Department as opposed
- 00:25:22to treasury bills or um you also
- 00:25:25referenced treasuries on Air Force One
- 00:25:26the other night well the
- 00:25:29as I mentioned earlier really the the
- 00:25:31first order of business is to make sure
- 00:25:33we're actually collecting sorry for this
- 00:25:35I thought my son might might enjoy this
- 00:25:36but it's he's sticking his fingers in my
- 00:25:38ears and stuff um um it's bit hot to
- 00:25:42hear sometimes hey sop that um so um no
- 00:25:47the stuff we're doing with with treasure
- 00:25:49department is so basic um that you can't
- 00:25:52believe it doesn't exist already so so
- 00:25:56so for example like I mentioned just
- 00:25:57making sure that that when a payment
- 00:25:59goes out it has to have the payment
- 00:26:02categorization code it's like what type
- 00:26:03of payment is this um you can't just
- 00:26:07leave the field blank currently many
- 00:26:09payments the field is left blank and you
- 00:26:11have to describe what's the payment for
- 00:26:13some basic rationalization that also is
- 00:26:15left blank so this is why you know the
- 00:26:17Pentagon when's the last time the
- 00:26:18Pentagon passed an udit I mean a decade
- 00:26:20ago maybe I ever really um and we want
- 00:26:24to just in order to actually pass audits
- 00:26:27you have to have Financial information
- 00:26:28that allows you to trace the payments um
- 00:26:31so uh you know and and once in a while
- 00:26:35the the treasury has to has to pause
- 00:26:37payments um if it thinks the payment is
- 00:26:40going to a fraudulent
- 00:26:42organization
- 00:26:44like if if if a if a company or
- 00:26:47organization is on a do not pay list we
- 00:26:50should not pay it I'm sure you would
- 00:26:51agree like if it's quite hard to get on
- 00:26:53that payment doal pay list it means that
- 00:26:56this is someone that is is like
- 00:26:58dead people
- 00:27:00terrorists uh known
- 00:27:02fraudsters uh that kind of thing we
- 00:27:05should not pay them but currently we do
- 00:27:08which is crazy we should stop that many
- 00:27:12many transactions and by the way
- 00:27:14hundreds thousands of transactions like
- 00:27:16that you know we have a big
- 00:27:18team and for the sake of the country I
- 00:27:22hope that the person that's in charge
- 00:27:25and the other people that report to me
- 00:27:27that are in charge are allowed to do the
- 00:27:29right thing namely make sure
- 00:27:31everything's honest legitimate and
- 00:27:33competent but we're looking at just uh
- 00:27:36when you look at usaid that was that's
- 00:27:39one we're going to look at the military
- 00:27:41we're going to look at education they're
- 00:27:43much bigger areas but the US Aid is
- 00:27:46really corrupt I'll tell you it's
- 00:27:48corrupt it's incompetent and it's really
- 00:27:51corrupt and I can't imagine a judge
- 00:27:53saying well it may be corrupt but you
- 00:27:55don't have the right you got elected to
- 00:27:57look over the country and to as we say
- 00:28:00make America great again but you don't
- 00:28:01have the right to go and look and see
- 00:28:03whether or not things are right that
- 00:28:05they're paying or that things are honest
- 00:28:07that they're paying and nobody can even
- 00:28:10believe this other people law professors
- 00:28:12they've been
- 00:28:13saying can't how can you take that
- 00:28:15person's right away You're supposed to
- 00:28:17be running the country but we're not
- 00:28:18allowed to look at who they're paying it
- 00:28:20to and what they're paying we have
- 00:28:23massive amounts of fraud that we caught
- 00:28:25I think we probably caught way over a
- 00:28:28lot of billions of dollars already in
- 00:28:31what two weeks yes and it's going to go
- 00:28:34uh to numbers that you're not going to
- 00:28:35believe and much as I said much is
- 00:28:38incompetence and much is dishonesty we
- 00:28:40have to catch it and the only way going
- 00:28:42to catch it is to look for it and if a
- 00:28:44judge is going to say you're not allowed
- 00:28:45to look for
- 00:28:46it that's pretty sad for our country I
- 00:28:49don't understand how it could even work
- 00:28:52program can you personally guarantee
- 00:28:54that the buyout program the operative
- 00:28:56federal workers can you personally
- 00:28:58guarantee that the workers who opt in to
- 00:29:00resign now will be paid through SE
- 00:29:02they'll get their money but uh they're
- 00:29:03getting a good deal they're getting a
- 00:29:05big buyout and what we're trying to do
- 00:29:07is reduce government we have too many
- 00:29:09people we have office space it's
- 00:29:10occupied by 4% nobody's showing up to
- 00:29:13work because they were told not to and
- 00:29:16then Biden gave them a five-year pass
- 00:29:18some of them 48,000 of them gave them a
- 00:29:20fiveyear pass that for five years you
- 00:29:23don't have to show up to work and and
- 00:29:25let me tell you this is largely much of
- 00:29:27the stuff is because of Biden it's his
- 00:29:29fault he allowed this country what he
- 00:29:32did on our border what he did on our
- 00:29:34border is almost not as bad as what he
- 00:29:36did with uh all of these contracts that
- 00:29:39have come out it it's it's a very sad
- 00:29:42day when we look at it I can't even
- 00:29:44believe it but many contracts just
- 00:29:46extend and they just keep extending and
- 00:29:48there was nobody there to correct it and
- 00:29:51uh that cannot be I can't imagine that
- 00:29:53could be held up by the court any court
- 00:29:56that would say that the president or for
- 00:29:58his Representatives like Secretary of
- 00:30:00the Treasury Secretary of State whatever
- 00:30:03doesn't have the right to go over their
- 00:30:05books and make sure everything's honest
- 00:30:07I mean how can you have a country you
- 00:30:09can't have anything that way you can't
- 00:30:10have a business that way you can't have
- 00:30:11a country that way thank you very much
- 00:30:14everybody thank
